on youth and youth ministry

was a group of people

is our young people today.

I'd say this, it is
tough being a young person

in this world today,

it is much tougher than
it was when I was a child,

there are more ways to get sick,

more ways to get injured,

more ways to get hurt,
and frankly more ways to die.

We live in a dangerous world

and young people are assaulted
by so many, many things

that simply didn't
exist 20 or so years ago

and we were

and it's a dangerous world,

and so we want to
pray for our young people

but also for all of those

who are involved
in youth ministry

in your churches,

and on our college
campuses, and at our academies.

We need to pray
for the young people

who sit in those class seats.

But we also need to
pray for the teachers

and I say this
sincerely, teaching is ministry.

Teachers are
ministers, they shape lives,

they form opinions,

they encourage our young people,

we give them into their
hands six, seven hours a day,

and of course when they
leave and go away to academy

or to college or university,

we turn them
over to these teachers

and their minds are
filled and encouraged,

sometimes
discouraged by what they hear

in these class rooms.

So we not, need not
only to pray for young people

but we need to pray for those

who are called to
teach young people
