Shiloh was a place
that where the law of God

And notice, God's saying here,
"I want you to have respect

for those who I have

God says, "Have respect for them

I've called them to do."

Now, again, we have to look at,

are they
following the Word of God?

have respect personally

for somebody who's not
following the Word of God,

But they're following
the Word of God, absolutely.

Sounds like a harsh punishment

about these young children

people who read this

and I've talked to several,

maybe not students
of the Word of God,

maybe not even a Christian.

They get a little bit upset
about this passage and say,

"Well, how could God do that?

Why would He allow something
like that to take place?"

Interesting.

So it sounds like

Here are these young
people, you know, out there,

woods and they see Elisha,

they want to make a
little bit of fun of him.

not an easy thing to go

maybe's poking a
little bit of fun at you

or laughing at you.

But anyway they decide

they were going to have a
little bit of fun with him

Remember, this
was a solemn event

that had just taken place.

Elijah had just been
translated by a miracle of God

Elisha was to take over.

He was God's appointed
man to do a specific work.

people come by and they say,

well, let's
paraphrase it a little bit.

them the ungodly youth.

They're laughing at
him and they call him out

and they said, you
know what telling him,

just go on up.

Basically, get
on out of the way,

we don't want you here,

here, why are you here?

Sometime you might
hear that from people

you're trying to study
with, maybe hold meetings with.

And, you know, we realize here

that Elisha was God's appointed
messenger and somebody,

these youths were
messing with God's man.

And so what happens?

realize here that Satan,

all of a
sudden, what does he do?

Anytime he has an opportunity

and they got away with it."

don't want to hear it.

all around the community
