this has brought misery
and suffering upon this world.

to you from Genesis Chapter 6,

And this is what
the Bible tells us.

"Then the Lord saw

that the wickedness of
man was great in the earth,

and that every intent of
the thoughts of his heart

was only evil continually.

And the Lord was sorry

that He had made
man on the earth,

So we see here,

that the Lord
looking all over the world,

the only thing that He
saw was evil continually,

even in the minds of the people,

words and their actions,

but even in their
minds was only evil.

What next
horrible thing can I do

was in the thoughts of people.

a drastic decision

and that is to destroy the earth

"Noah and the flood."

And it is because

Noah found grace in
the eyes of the Lord,

that humanity could continue.

In other words,

God extended
mercy to the human race

through Noah and his family.

In essence, we are all related,

even going down,
going back as far as Adam

or going back as far as Noah.

Now today,

the situation is according
to the way it is described

in Romans 3:23.
00:05:18.88\00:05:23.12
In Romans 3:23, we have a
very clear and short message,
00:05:23.15\00:05:29.62
but it speaks of the reality
of this human life on earth.
00:05:29.66\00:05:36.53
Romans 3:23,
00:05:36.56\00:05:37.90
"For all have sinned,
00:05:37.93\00:05:40.04
and fall short of
the glory of God."
00:05:40.07\00:05:44.24
All have sinned,
00:05:44.27\00:05:45.61
and fall short
of the glory of God.

You might ask yourself,
well, how do you define sin?

How do you know what sin is?

And without this, you
will not know what sin is?

Let us head to 1 John Chapter 3,

and we're gonna verse 4.

In 1 John 3:4,

we have the following words.

It is written,

"Whoever commits sin
also commits lawlessness,

and sin is lawlessness."

In other words,

disobeying the law.

What law? The law of God.

But you see,

the Bible tells
us something powerful

that we need to understand,

every human being
needs to understand

the message that is
written in Romans 6:23.

Now, I am only going to read
00:06:41.16\00:06:43.26
the first part of
Romans Chapter 6 this time.
00:06:43.30\00:06:46.84
And the first
part of Romans 6:23,
00:06:46.87\00:06:48.94
the Bible says,
00:06:48.97\00:06:50.54
"For the wages of sin is death."
00:06:50.57\00:06:54.68
That's what it is.
00:06:54.71\00:06:56.08
So if everyone has
sinned in this world,
00:06:56.11\00:07:00.28
everyone is subject to death.
00:07:00.32\00:07:03.22
And because of this,
everyone needs a savior.

You see, we
cannot save ourselves.

Let us say you
only commit one sin

in all of your lifetime,
00:07:13.03\00:07:14.66
whether you live 101 year
or whether you live 1000 years,
00:07:14.70\00:07:18.30
or 10,000 years,
00:07:18.33\00:07:19.67
you only commit one sin,

the fact still remains
that the wages of sin is death.

So what can you do

to escape this
penalty for committing sin?

You can do,

you can spend
the rest of your life

doing good deeds,

giving money to the
poor, feeding the hungry,

building houses for
people that don't have homes,

the homeless.

Whatever good deed you could
do could not change the fact
00:07:47.36\00:07:51.60
that you committed that one sin
00:07:51.63\00:07:53.07
because no amount of good things
00:07:53.10\00:07:55.10
cancel out the sin itself.
00:07:55.14\00:07:58.31
So this is why the next
part of Romans Chapter 6

is of great importance as well.

Let's begin, Romans
Chapter 6 in the first part,
00:08:05.41\00:08:08.38
and let's read the
second part as well.
00:08:08.42\00:08:10.55
Romans 6:23, says,
00:08:10.59\00:08:14.09
"For the wages of sin is death,
00:08:14.12\00:08:17.39
but the gift of
God is eternal life."
00:08:17.43\00:08:21.70
How do you get it?
00:08:21.73\00:08:23.06
"In Christ Jesus our Lord."
00:08:23.10\00:08:26.53
So this is the gift
of God, eternal life.
00:08:26.57\00:08:30.74
So the only way to
regain what was lost

is through Jesus Christ.

And see, Romans
Chapter 5 reveals to us

the wonderful love of God.

Notice what Romans 5:8 says,

"But God demonstrates
His own love toward us,

in that while we
were still sinners,

Christ died for us."

Yes, while you
were still a sinner,

Christ died for you.

This means that God
has extended mercy to you.

Every single person in the world

has the
opportunity to have salvation

through Jesus Christ.

No one in this world is born,
to have to die for their sins.

Because Jesus Christ died
to save the whole human race

from the first
one till the last one

Jesus Christ
died for their sins,

so that all could have the
opportunity of eternal life

through Jesus Christ.

But what must you do?

How do you get
this eternal life?

Please pay close attention

so that you may learn

what the Bible
says concerning this.

Now, here are the facts.
00:09:46.18\00:09:47.58
The reality is
00:09:47.62\00:09:49.65
that without Jesus,
you are completely lost.
00:09:49.68\00:09:52.65
And there's
absolutely nothing you can do
00:09:52.69\00:09:55.16
without Jesus to save yourself.
00:09:55.19\00:09:57.79
Let's look at Isaiah 64:6.
00:09:57.83\00:10:01.90
In Isaiah 64:6, the
Bible tells us these words,
00:10:01.93\00:10:08.07
"But we are all
like an unclean thing.
00:10:08.10\00:10:14.08
And all our righteousness
are like filthy rags.
00:10:14.11\00:10:19.08
We all fade as a leaf
00:10:19.11\00:10:21.35
and all our
iniquities like the wind
00:10:21.38\00:10:24.45
have taken us away."
00:10:24.49\00:10:27.96
That is the condition of
every single human being.
00:10:27.99\00:10:32.06
You see, even the very
best you could possibly do
00:10:32.09\00:10:36.83
is not good enough to save you.
00:10:36.87\00:10:40.64
And all our righteousness,
00:10:40.67\00:10:42.54
the very best you can
do are like filthy rags.
00:10:42.57\00:10:45.77
So in trying to explain
the idea of filthy rags,

I've come to the conclusion that

this is the best
way I can present it.
00:10:54.22\00:10:55.95
You see, in the time of Jesus,
00:10:55.98\00:10:58.29
there was a disease
that was a dreaded disease.
00:10:58.32\00:11:01.26
It was highly contagious.
00:11:01.29\00:11:03.26
Anyone that would get it,
00:11:03.29\00:11:04.63
whether father,
mother or children
00:11:04.66\00:11:06.46
had to be separated
from their families.
00:11:06.49\00:11:08.66
And these people lived
outside of the city in caves
00:11:08.70\00:11:11.60
away from all
the rest of society.
00:11:11.63\00:11:14.27
Why?
00:11:14.30\00:11:15.64
Because even the very
breath contaminated the air.
00:11:15.67\00:11:21.21
And so these
people were separate,
00:11:21.24\00:11:22.74
even kings have to
step down from the throne,
00:11:22.78\00:11:25.58
and go live in the
wilderness, go live in caves.
00:11:25.61\00:11:29.12
And the people
would wrap their hands
00:11:29.15\00:11:32.52
and their limbs
00:11:32.55\00:11:34.86
with clothing or rags,
00:11:34.89\00:11:40.50
so that they would try to
keep their limbs together.

And people would even
have these rags on their hand.
00:11:45.10\00:11:48.67
And only to discover
that as they unwrapped,
00:11:48.70\00:11:52.27
the flesh was rotting,
00:11:52.31\00:11:53.78
a finger had fallen
off or part of a finger.
00:11:53.81\00:11:56.38
And there was a lot of
stench, it just smelled horrible

because of the
blood and rotting flesh.

And you see,

this is the best
description I can find

to tell you that
all our righteousness,

the very best we can
do are like filthy rags.

Perhaps in your mind,

you can, you know of another rag
00:12:13.16\00:12:15.16
that you can say,
well, that's a filthy rag.
00:12:15.20\00:12:18.27
Some mechanics
may be able to say,
00:12:18.30\00:12:19.70
"Well, that's a filthy rag,"
00:12:19.73\00:12:21.07
because of all the
grease and all the stuff
00:12:21.10\00:12:22.60
and the grime from the vehicles.
00:12:22.64\00:12:24.51
But all our righteousness,
00:12:24.54\00:12:26.27
the very best thing we
can do are like filthy rags,
00:12:26.31\00:12:29.44
they cannot do
anything to save us.

As a matter of fact,

I want to bring to
you what Job 14:4 says.

Job 14:4 says,

"Who can bring a clean
thing out of an unclean?
00:12:42.06\00:12:45.86
No one,"
00:12:45.89\00:12:47.23
says the Bible,
00:12:47.26\00:12:48.60
"No one can bring a
clean thing out of an unclean
00:12:48.63\00:12:51.30
and we are all unclean."
00:12:51.33\00:12:53.03
That's what we
read in Isaiah 64:6,
00:12:53.07\00:12:57.77
"But we are all
like an unclean thing."
00:12:57.81\00:13:01.04
So when we go to Isaiah 64:12,
00:13:01.08\00:13:05.08
in Isaiah 64:12, we
have the following words.
00:13:05.11\00:13:10.55
In Isaiah 64:12, it says,
00:13:10.59\00:13:16.22
"I will declare
your righteousness
00:13:16.26\00:13:20.86
and your worth, for
they will not profit, "
00:13:20.90\00:13:25.23
I will declare your
righteousness and your worth,
00:13:25.27\00:13:29.04
for they will not profit you.
00:13:29.07\00:13:32.27
And this is a message
that we have in the Bible
00:13:32.31\00:13:37.01
concerning our righteousness.
00:13:37.05\00:13:39.15
Our righteousness
cannot save us at all.

We need a savior,
we need Jesus Christ.

Please consider Jeremiah 13:23.

In Jeremiah 13:23,

the Bible tells us that
we cannot change ourselves.

Notice what it says in verse 23.

"Can the
Ethiopian change his skin

or the leopard its spots,

then you may also do good

who are accustomed to do evil."

In other words,

the person that has not given
his or her heart to the Lord

cannot change themselves,

or they may make
some outward reforms

because they are losing respect.

People don't want
to be around them.

They may make some
behavioral changes,

but inside they are
still evil and wicked.

The first
opportunity to do wrong,

they will do wrong.

So the person that has not given

his or her heart to the Lord

So what can we do?

The solution,
the answer is Jesus.

Romans Chapter 3,
actually, verse 10 and 11.

This is what the Bible says,

"As it is written,
00:15:11.24\00:15:12.67
there is none
righteous, no, not one."

How many are righteous?

No, not one.

Verse 11,

"There's none who understand,

there's none who
seeks after God."

You see, it's not
that we search for God,

is that we
respond to God drawing us.

And how is it that God draws us?

Does He force us? No.

He draws us with His love,
He draws us with His mercy,

because it is
by the grace of God

that we are saved.

And I want to
ask you to consider

perhaps you have heard

of the parable
of the lost sheep.

Jesus tells a
parable about the lost sheep,

that a shepherd has 100 sheep,
and he counts all the sheep.

And he knows them by name,

and he realizes
he's missing one.

When he realizes
he's missing one,

he leaves 99 safe,

and goes out to
find that lost sheep.

This is a picture of
what God does for us.

This is a picture of
what Jesus came to do for us,

because the Bible says
that God so loved the world,

that He gave His
only begotten Son,

And I want to point
you to the Book of Ezekiel

that brings to us the
message just as described.

Ezekiel 34:11-12.

Notice the words here.

"For thus says the Lord God:

'Indeed I Myself
will search for My sheep

and seek them out.

As a shepherd
seeks out his flock

on the day he is
among his scattered sheep,

so will I seek out My sheep

and deliver them

from all the places
where they have scattered,

Yes, please understand that

Jesus has been searching
for you, seeking for you.

And when I say "searching"

means that He's
trying to get you to respond

to the offer of salvation.

Jesus has been in different ways

and in different situations,

through people,
through circumstances,

trying to help you understand
