through a study of God's Word.

sufferings of this world,

we must really ask ourselves,

where is this
suffering coming from?

Some suffering comes to
us because of our own making,

our own decisions.

Some sufferings comes to us

because of being in contact
with someone that may be sick.

There are many
different reasons,

different factors
that cause these things,

but unfortunately,

sometimes people blame God
for things He has not done.

And perhaps there are people

blaming God for
this Coronavirus,

in which He
really has had nothing

to do with.

I would like to invite
you to join me in 1 John 4:8.

1 John 4:8, the Bible tells us,

"He who does not

Now,
understanding that God is love,

to see and understand

delight in seeing people suffer,

so He will not cause suffering
upon people unnecessarily.

Notice what the Bible tells us,

This is the God, the
Creator, the one that loves us,

that we are living in a time

when there's a great controversy

The Bible talks about the enemy,

the devil as a roaring
lion seeking whom he may devour,

but he works in different ways.

And he works
very, very sneakily,

if I could say it that way

and deceives
people into saying things

and doing things

that causes them harm
and causes other people harm.

In 1 John 1:2,

The Bible tells us, "Beloved,

I pray that you may prosper

This is the Apostle
John writing to God's Church,

but at the same time,

we must understand
that this is the same desire

that God has for us.

He wants us to
prosper and be in good health.

I would like to go
to the Book of Jeremiah

and read for you a scripture

that details what
God has in mind for you.

In Jeremiah 29:11,
the Bible tells us,

"For I know the thoughts
that I think toward you,
00:12:51.47\00:12:55.67
says the Lord,
00:12:55.70\00:12:57.04
thoughts of
peace and not of evil,
00:12:57.07\00:12:59.71
to give you a
future and a hope."

This is the marvelous God
that created us, that loves us,
00:13:03.88\00:13:08.62
that gave His only
begotten Son to die for us
00:13:08.65\00:13:11.89
so that we can
have eternal life.

And He has thoughts of peace
00:13:14.26\00:13:16.73
and thoughts of
hope for you and for me.

We are facing a
great controversy

between good and evil.

And we must understand

that God is not the
author of mass suffering,

as some people have painted Him.
00:13:33.01\00:13:36.21
And so now, we are gonna go

to the Book of Lamentation 3:33.

In Lamentations 3:33,

notice what the Bible says,

"For he does not
afflict willingly

nor grieve the children of men."

So this is the way God is.

And in the Bible
are several examples

of God exercising mercy,

exercising love,

extending opportunity for people

He punishes the people

Abraham and his
wife are visited,

individuals come to see them

Three angels,

but one of them
is a divine being.

now that they have
had time with Abraham.

Gomorrah is great,

according to the outcry

and not spare it
for the fifty righteous

something God would do,

Notice the answer of
the Lord in Genesis 18:26.

fifty righteous within the city,

then I will spare all
the place for their sakes.'"

Notice here that
God starts at 50.
00:16:44.50\00:16:48.80
And we don't
know how many people
00:16:48.84\00:16:50.97
were in Sodom and Gomorrah,
00:16:51.01\00:16:53.31
perhaps they were thousands,
00:16:53.34\00:16:55.01
but according to
what God says here,
00:16:55.04\00:16:57.41
what the Lord says
there is wickedness
00:16:57.45\00:17:01.45
in Sodom and
Gomorrah to such a degree,
00:17:01.48\00:17:05.85
that God must do something
00:17:05.89\00:17:08.39
so that this doesn't
spread to other nations.

So God has to take action,

but Abraham appeals to the Lord.

picture of the Lord,

And the Lord said, "If
there are 45 good people,

I will spare them

because there are
45 righteous people."

What a marvelous God.

This helps me to understand
that today, societies,
00:18:31.51\00:18:35.48
countries, cities
00:18:35.51\00:18:37.78
benefit from the fact
00:18:37.81\00:18:39.38
that there are
good righteous people
00:18:39.41\00:18:42.25
in those cities,
00:18:42.28\00:18:44.29
but notice, if
you keep reading on
00:18:44.32\00:18:46.62
you will notice
that Abraham continue
00:18:46.65\00:18:49.02
to appeal to the Lord.
00:18:49.06\00:18:50.73
Lord, what if there are 30,
00:18:50.76\00:18:56.03
and then he went to 20
00:18:56.06\00:18:59.57
and the Lord continue to say,

"I will not destroy it
for the sake of the 20,

of the 30, the
40, the 30, the 20."

And you'd think, wait a minute,

with the mass
multitude of people,

God is gonna spare
all of this wickedness

and put up with it

because there are
20 good people there.
