00:01 I'm not asking you to be Christ,
00:02 I'm asking you to put on Christ. 00:04 Amen. 00:05 I was trying to do it myself in human flesh 00:08 with some help from God, 00:10 make me strong enough and finally God said 00:14 there is only ever been one human being 00:16 who was strong enough and it ain't you. 00:19 Amen. It's the Lord Jesus Christ. 00:22 Amen. 00:23 And the good news is remember 00:25 that God has accepted Jesus as we. 00:31 What's happened to Jesus, 00:34 God considers that it's happened to me. 00:37 It's my privilege every day to come to the cross 00:41 and ask God to bring the living Christ into me. 00:46 Amen. 00:47 So that I will not be begging God 00:49 to make me strong enough, 00:51 but I'll be taking hold of the one 00:53 who was strong enough. 00:57 That's such a mediocre response, 00:59 I can hardly handle it out. 01:01 I'll have to have a drink to sustain myself. 01:04 Wow. Amen. 01:10 Don't wave at me because you know 01:11 I'm gonna repeat that statement again. 01:15 Don't wave at me because you know 01:17 I'm gonna repeat that statement. 01:23 I hope you're not digging the same hole 01:25 that I tried to dig for 20 years. 01:28 God make me strong enough, please, I'm so weak, 01:31 help me not to do the same things 01:33 over and over again, give me the strength. 01:37 And I found myself being rebuked by God. 01:40 I'm not asking you to be Christ. 01:43 There's only one person, human being 01:47 who was ever strong enough to win the struggle 01:50 and it ain't you. 01:54 It does keep you-- Kay, 01:55 it does focus on yourself exactly 01:57 and that's a hopeless focus. 02:00 I can't afford to take my eyes off Christ for one minute 02:03 because they drop back on to myself 02:05 and all of a sudden I find myself back 02:07 in the same old struggle again. 02:09 Absolutely. 02:10 Oh, God, make me strong enough, give me the strength. 02:14 Instead of looking at the one person 02:17 in human flesh who actually made it possible. 02:21 He's already fought this fight, He's won this battle. 02:25 He is offering to indwell us, 02:28 so that His mind can now be ours. 02:32 Amen. What a privilege that is. 02:34 We are about to pick up that theme, 02:36 but I'm just wanting to make sure. 02:37 Anyone sitting out there on something 02:39 that hasn't come through yet. 02:41 Joyce, yes, microphone please. 02:45 I'm reading from Hebrews 9:14, 02:48 "How much more shall the blood of Christ, 02:51 who through the eternal Spirit 02:53 offered himself without spot to God, 02:56 cleanse your conscience from dead works 02:59 to serve the living God." 03:00 Wow. Amen. 03:02 Thank you very much, Joyce. 03:03 So you can actually have a clean conscience. 03:06 Amen. 03:08 The blood of Jesus has cleansed our consciences. 03:11 Our sins of the past are past. Amen. 03:16 I read a sign on the church once and it said, 03:20 "When the devil reminds you of your past, 03:23 remind him of his future." 03:25 Amen. 03:28 Because your past has been placed on Jesus Christ. 03:34 Amen. 03:36 I can't believe we run out of time again, please. 03:38 One good one. 03:40 Let's hear one good one before we finish, yes. 03:43 It's Hebrews 9:7. 03:45 Hebrews 9:7. Kay, jump in quickly please. 03:49 "But into the second, 03:50 only the high priest enters once a year, 03:52 not without taking blood, 03:54 which he offers for himself and for the sins 03:56 the people committed in ignorance." 03:59 So all those sins that we didn't know 04:01 we committed that you worry about--- 04:05 Sins of ignorance. Sins in the ignorance. 04:07 Sins of ignorance. They are all taking care of. 04:10 Are pardoned, yes indeed. That's huge. 04:14 And we have that in the Old Testament, 04:15 there was a special sacrifice 04:17 the sins of ignorance, yes indeed. 04:20 God has been far more gracious than we realize. 04:23 Amen. 04:26 Oh, but unfortunately the time keepers 04:28 are once again sending very serious messages to us. 04:35 Okay, so let's bow our heads together as we conclude. 04:39 Kay, you got the mike, 04:40 would you go ahead and close in prayer? 04:42 Thank you. 04:43 Father, what a glorious lesson we just been with you, 04:47 in your word Father how good does it get. 04:51 I just ask that you would so send the Holy Spirit 04:54 to seal these truths into our minds 04:56 that we might so live in You that others can see You 05:01 and we can finish this work and go home and be with You, 05:05 with Your children and we'll give You 05:07 all the praise and honor and glory, amen. 05:10 Amen.
