article in the New York Times,

primates in the rainforests

These Zoologists
had been studying

patterns of these primates

and they noticed
three major things,

when the monkeys were up in
the trees... monkeying around...

that's what monkeys do,

and a large bird of
prey was seen on the horizon,

a certain sound would be
made by one of the lead primates

and they would
all with one accord

come down from
the tops of the trees

and find themselves hid
in the thick underbrush...

they also noticed
that when these primates

were in the thick
underbrush hunting for food

and just monkeying around again,

spotted one of the huge snakes

that would love
to have monkey stew,

the cry would go out

and all of the monkeys
that were in the underbrush

would come out of the underbrush
and come to a meadow or a field

where they could see what
was transpiring around them

the first warning cry,

of the big cats lurking around,

run not to the thick underbrush

climb up as high as they could,

monkeys understood

they could not afford
to ignore the warning.

The Zoologists
took it a step further,

they recorded
those certain sounds

and they played
them through loudspeakers

so the primates could hear them

and when they played the
different distinct sounds,

the monkeys
reacted every single time

the warning that was given.

intelligent than primates...

to reason and understand
