that were made by some

psychics about 2010.

One prophesied that there would
be a war between Israel and Iran

and there'll be another
successful terrorist attack

on the United States in 2010.

Now we know that didn't happen.
00:01:43.73\00:01:45.99
Another one said that there'd
be an attempted assassination of

President Barack Obama in 2010.

That didn't happen.

Another one said that
President Obama would have a
00:01:56.14\00:02:00.10
heart attack and die.

And the Vice President
will have the unpopular,

and mistaken intention of
declaring war on North Korea

only to
discover that North Korea

has weapons of mass destruction.

And still another one said
there will be a great rise in

skin cancer among
children in the year 2010.

Now the truth is none
of these things happened,

and the reason they did not
happen is because there is a

difference between
the prophecies of man,

and the prophecies of God. Amen!

The Bible lets us know in 2
Peter 1:20, 21, But know this

first for all that no prophecy
of scripture is a matter of

one's own interpretation.

For no prophecy was ever
made by an act of human will,

this is a spectacular scene,

Here we see the saints of God,
who have received victory in

this life standing, as
it were, before God Himself,

and before the Son,
having in their hands harps

we have to be overcomers.

Now I want us to go
back to verse 1, verse 1.

It says, And I saw
another sign in heaven,

Now folks, all through the book
of Revelation we have seen this
00:14:15.49\00:14:18.47
number seven, and we
spoke about it the other night.
00:14:18.50\00:14:20.82
We said that the number seven
is the number of completion.
00:14:20.85\00:14:25.57
In Revelation we not only
see seven angels, with the seven
00:14:25.60\00:14:30.38
last vials, with the seven last
plagues, but we see them with
00:14:30.41\00:14:34.50
seven candlesticks, and
seven stars, and seven seals,
00:14:34.53\00:14:37.71
and seven trumpets.
00:14:37.74\00:14:39.12
We saw seven eyes, and seven
horns, and seven spirits before
00:14:39.15\00:14:43.12
the very throne of God.
00:14:43.15\00:14:44.65
And, ladies and gentlemen,
when we look through the book of
00:14:44.68\00:14:47.37
Revelation, we also see that
it mentions that there are seven
00:14:47.40\00:14:51.44
churches. And those
seven churches were at one time
00:14:51.47\00:14:55.28
the literal churches that were
in existence. but it is also
00:14:55.31\00:14:58.75
But it is also symbolic of
the seven churches of all time.
00:14:58.78\00:15:02.19
And as we live
today, ladies and gentlemen,
00:15:02.23\00:15:05.09
in these last days of
Earth's history, we indeed,
00:15:05.12\00:15:09.82
are that seventh church, that
last church called Laodicea.
00:15:09.85\00:15:13.83
Laodicea, whose name means,
the judging of the people.
00:15:13.86\00:15:18.58
So when we look at this it lets
us know that we are living in
00:15:18.61\00:15:22.69
the last days, and
it lets us know that
00:15:22.72\00:15:25.22
we are the last church.
00:15:25.25\00:15:26.50
Now in the book of Revelation
chapter 3, the Lord God in His
00:15:26.53\00:15:31.57
mercy, and in His goodness,
and in His desire to save us,
00:15:31.60\00:15:35.59
gives advice to
all of the churches.
00:15:35.62\00:15:39.72
But when we look at Laodicea,
we see that there is something
00:15:39.75\00:15:44.37
very particular for us to
understand, that we must do
00:15:44.40\00:15:49.69
if we would be overcomers.
00:15:49.72\00:15:52.20
You see, before we go to
Revelation 3, let's just pop
00:15:52.23\00:15:54.78
back to Revelation 15 for a
moment, and look at verse 2.
00:15:54.81\00:15:58.83
It says that they were
standing on the sea of glass.
00:15:58.86\00:16:01.54
And that is before
the very throne of God.
00:16:01.57\00:16:03.69
And it says, As though
it was mingled with fire.
00:16:03.72\00:16:06.21
And that's just
because it's made of pure gold,
00:16:06.24\00:16:08.83
and it's reflecting the
glory and majesty of Christ.
00:16:08.86\00:16:11.90
It said that they had gotten
the victory over the beast,
00:16:11.93\00:16:15.40
And next week we will look at
those different aspects of the
00:16:19.94\00:16:23.75
book of Revelation, and what
they are, and what they mean.

But they are victorious.

Before they could get over those
things, they had to get over

personal sin in their lives.

Before they could understand
that they must be victorious,

they had to have a relationship
with Jesus on an individual
00:16:42.43\00:16:47.31
basis. These individuals will
come out of Babylon, as it were,

and come into the
remnant church, which keeps the
00:16:53.48\00:16:56.61
commandments of God, and
has the faith of Jesus Christ.

That last church, in this last
day, Laodicea is God's church.
00:17:00.07\00:17:07.23
But there are some things
that Laodicea has to do to be an
00:17:07.26\00:17:11.58
overcome herself.
00:17:11.61\00:17:13.09
In other words, individually we
must overcome, but as a church
00:17:13.12\00:17:17.43
body in group, we have
to overcome something also.
00:17:17.46\00:17:21.06
So when we turn to the book
of Revelation 3, we see here the
00:17:21.09\00:17:27.38
advice that comes to Jesus,
that we need to understand,
00:17:27.41\00:17:32.13
so we can overcome not only
corporately, but as individuals
00:17:32.16\00:17:37.25
who are members of God's church,
the remnant in the last days
00:17:37.28\00:17:40.85
to be victorious. It
says, in verse 14, of chapter 3:
00:17:40.88\00:17:46.75
Friends, the God we
serve, sees everything.
00:18:04.64\00:18:07.24
He knows everything about us.
00:18:07.27\00:18:09.87
It tells us in Proverbs 15:3
that the eyes of the Lord are
00:18:09.90\00:18:14.65
in every place,
beholding the evil and the good.
00:18:14.68\00:18:17.32
He sees us. He
sees us in the night.
00:18:17.35\00:18:20.79
He sees us in the day.
00:18:20.82\00:18:22.37
He sees us in the light.
00:18:22.40\00:18:24.03
He sees us in the darkness.

Not only does He see us,
but, ladies and gentlemen,

He does not have to guess
what's going through our mind.

He knows our minds.

He knows our thoughts.

He knows us better
than we know ourselves.

He knows us down unto
the bottom of our heart.

And, ladies and gentlemen,
the book of Jeremiah tells us

that the heart is deceitfully
wicked above all things,

and who can know it?

We don't even know it.

But it says the Lord
Himself knows the heart.

So when He says this
about us as a corporate church,

when He says that these are
the characteristics that will be

prevalent in our
experience, during this time,

we have to understand that God
knows what He's talking about.

He continues here in verse
16, for it says, So then because

Now folks,
that's not a good thing.

To know that
you are the Remnant.

To know that you are in the
church, in a relationship with

Christ, and then upon
examination of Christ,

He says to us,
that we are lukewarm.

We're not on fire.

I wish you were on fire!

I wish that you were warm.

No, I wish that you were cold.

For if you are cold you need,
you know you need to get warm.

I've been married for 39 years
now, and there are some things

that, no matter how many
years we're going to be married,

I think we're going to
have this little controversy.

I like to sleep when it's cold.

She likes to
sleep when it's hot.

So we play who gets
to the control last?

I turn on the air conditioner
and make it nice and cold,

and before I can fall
asleep, or when I fall asleep,

I don't know because we
saw last night that in sleep

you don't know anything.
00:20:33.09\00:20:34.33
It goes off! And then
that heat comes back on.

So when I'm too hot, I know I
have to get up and cut that air
00:20:39.32\00:20:42.23
on. And when it's too cold
she knows she has to get up

and she has to do her part.

And it's a back and forth.

And folks, when it's
not the air conditioning,

when you have the window
open, it's the same thing.

Well, when we look at
this metaphor, when it compares

to us, when we talk
about our spirituality, folks,

it's not good to be
lukewarm with Jesus. Amen!

That means you have enough
religion in you to get to the

church on Sabbath, but
it's not enough to get you

there at prayer meetings. Hello!

Unless there's a crisis
you just do what you need

to do to get by, and then
you begin to lie to yourself

everything is okay with you.

We become more
religious than spiritual.

And that's dangerous, ladies
and gentlemen, because there

were no people as
religious as the Pharisees,

and they rejected Christ.

So when I look at this message
that is given to Laodicea,

that's given to us, we have to
understand the principles of it.

It continues to say
in this chapter, it says

because, verse 16:
00:22:08.14\00:22:09.56
Oh my friends, to hear
that coming from Jesus,
00:22:31.27\00:22:34.81
that has to hurt! I heard one
TV preacher say, when something
00:22:34.84\00:22:39.14
like that is read, say Ouch!
00:22:39.17\00:22:40.65
Well, we need to
say Ouch! on that one!
00:22:40.68\00:22:42.68
Hum, it says, wretched,
miserable, poor, blind,
00:22:42.71\00:22:49.32
and naked. But I thank God the
Lord doesn't just tell us what's
00:22:49.35\00:22:53.52
wrong with us and leave us.
00:22:53.55\00:22:55.34
He tells us what we can do to
get things right in our lives.

mind that people can't prove it,

So if there were an opportunity
for the law to be changed

then things could have been

worked out where the Son of God
didn't have to pay the penalty

for sin, and die for
your life and my life.

be a Savior for us,

to pay the price for our sin.

And Jesus was that Lamb of God.

And we looked at
that on the second night.

He is that Lamb of God,
slain from the foundation

of the world, which means it was
a covenant that He had intact

if man sinned, and He knew

made a provision for us

to Himself and to God.

threefold mission:

1. A mission of revelation
to show what the Father is like.

here and revealed the character

in Jesus, the next voice
you'll hear will be His voice.

it's profitable for doctrine.

And when I look at
Matthew 5: 17 it reads thusly:

The law of God will continue
to last, ladies and gentlemen,

because it's the royal
law of liberty, as James says,

and it is a picture
of the character of God.

It shows our love for Him,
and our love for one another.

also love our fellow man.

things on which the whole law

things that I have to understand

That is good, but that's not
what we're doing in this series.

We are looking at the book
of Revelation and how it relates

to us with the rest of the
Bible, so we can see that it is

a part of the Bible, and
that all of the doctrines

of the Bible: justification by
faith, righteousness by faith,

the judgment, the second
coming, the signs of the times,

how we can live a practical

third thing that God can't do:

And it says, these angels,

That's His anger.
That's His violent rage

That's His fury. When those
seven last plagues are looked at

And Revelation 16, there are
some people who will question

the love and mercy of God.

from the torment of dying
