Welcome back to the Ultimate Prescription. 00:00:01.36\00:00:02.70 I'm your host, Nick Evenson. 00:00:02.73\00:00:04.07 And today we're talking with Dr. Marcum 00:00:04.10\00:00:05.43 about coronary artery disease. 00:00:05.47\00:00:06.80 Dr. Marcum? Yeah. 00:00:06.84\00:00:08.17 We've talked about how coronaries are the arteries 00:00:08.20\00:00:11.94 that feed the heart, the nourishment. 00:00:11.97\00:00:13.91 Remember these blood vessels go all throughout the body, 00:00:13.94\00:00:16.91 but the heart's the one that pumps, 00:00:16.95\00:00:19.15 supplies all the nutrients and everything we need. 00:00:19.18\00:00:22.28 When these arteries get damaged 00:00:22.32\00:00:24.95 either from a clogged up or a clot in them or whatever, 00:00:24.99\00:00:28.59 it's a medical emergency. 00:00:28.62\00:00:30.53 And if a personnel know they have an medical emergency 00:00:30.56\00:00:33.09 'cause he have a symptom. 00:00:33.13\00:00:34.46 Something doesn't feel right. 00:00:34.50\00:00:35.90 You gotta get help right away. 00:00:35.93\00:00:37.77 So don't sit at home, say, "Oh, I have some heart burn. 00:00:37.80\00:00:40.50 Oh, this is not a big deal. 00:00:40.54\00:00:41.90 Oh, I pulled a muscle." Right. 00:00:41.94\00:00:43.51 If you can't explain it, you gotta... 00:00:43.54\00:00:45.77 I, in my opinion you have to assume 00:00:45.81\00:00:47.84 it's a heart attack until you prove it's not. 00:00:47.88\00:00:50.05 Since it's a number one cause of death, 00:00:50.08\00:00:52.01 and if it's one of these little plaques 00:00:52.05\00:00:53.62 that we talked about previously, 00:00:53.65\00:00:55.05 becoming unstable and rupturing, 00:00:55.08\00:00:57.02 you could have sudden death 00:00:57.05\00:00:58.39 if you don't get treated right away. 00:00:58.42\00:00:59.75 Right. 00:00:59.79\00:01:01.12 So it's a medical emergency, 00:01:01.16\00:01:02.49 we've to call 911, we can't ignore them. 00:01:02.52\00:01:04.69 So we've got a video 00:01:04.73\00:01:06.06 that we'd like to take a look at 00:01:06.09\00:01:07.43 and have you comment on, Dr. Marcum, 00:01:07.46\00:01:08.80 of a heart attack and a stent. 00:01:08.83\00:01:10.27 Let's take a took at that and tell us 00:01:10.30\00:01:11.63 what's going on here? 00:01:11.67\00:01:13.00 Well, this person has had a heart attack. 00:01:13.03\00:01:15.04 He has gone to the hospital, he needs help right away. 00:01:15.07\00:01:18.21 And you can see the part, it's turning dark, 00:01:18.24\00:01:20.81 that's the part it's not getting enough blood. 00:01:20.84\00:01:23.21 And if they don't do something very quickly, 00:01:23.24\00:01:25.71 the heart's gonna have damage. 00:01:25.75\00:01:27.12 So here is, a stent being placed, 00:01:27.15\00:01:29.72 the blockage is up there, 00:01:29.75\00:01:31.69 we can see the stent which is metal, 00:01:31.72\00:01:33.89 squishing the blockage and the plaque 00:01:33.92\00:01:36.22 and then we remove the catheter there 00:01:36.26\00:01:38.56 and there we've a stent 00:01:38.59\00:01:39.93 restoring blood flow to the heart. 00:01:39.96\00:01:41.83 That's one treatment of acute. 00:01:41.86\00:01:43.87 Now sometimes it doesn't work out so well, 00:01:43.90\00:01:46.10 we've to get bypass around the blockages. 00:01:46.13\00:01:48.94 And this is a team 00:01:48.97\00:01:50.41 that's actually doing bypass surgery, 00:01:50.44\00:01:52.54 where if there's blockages 00:01:52.57\00:01:53.91 we can't put a stent in for whatever 00:01:53.94\00:01:55.64 and we're doing emergency bypass, 00:01:55.68\00:01:57.68 we're taking one blood vessel 00:01:57.71\00:01:59.11 and bringing itself to the blockage 00:01:59.15\00:02:01.02 to restore nourishment to the heart, 00:02:01.05\00:02:03.92 so the heart can pump better, 00:02:03.95\00:02:05.35 so it can get blood to every organ in the body. 00:02:05.39\00:02:08.32 So acute care of hearts is a medical emergency, 00:02:08.36\00:02:12.69 it's something that modern medicine 00:02:12.73\00:02:14.26 does very well, Nick. 00:02:14.30\00:02:15.63 Yeah. 00:02:15.66\00:02:17.00 Modern medicine is great for treating emergencies. 00:02:17.03\00:02:20.04 If I'm having an heart attack, I won't have a stent. 00:02:20.07\00:02:22.40 Absolutely, yeah. 00:02:22.44\00:02:23.77 You know, if I can't walk across a room 00:02:23.81\00:02:25.14 'cause I'm so clogged up, I wanna have a bypass surgery. 00:02:25.17\00:02:28.68 My heart's going too slow, I want a pacemaker. 00:02:28.71\00:02:33.08 If I have a bleeding spell, give me some blood. 00:02:33.11\00:02:35.92 You know, if, you know 00:02:35.95\00:02:37.52 so modern medicine is great for acute emergencies. 00:02:37.55\00:02:40.26 Right. 00:02:40.29\00:02:41.62 Not so good about preventing chronic disease, 00:02:41.66\00:02:45.19 and definitely not great at fixing bad genetics. 00:02:45.23\00:02:49.90 And we've talked about this thing, 00:02:49.93\00:02:51.63 the only thing that can fix bad genes is Jesus. 00:02:51.67\00:02:54.17 But we can maybe slowdown the expression with lifestyle 00:02:54.20\00:02:57.44 and then we can know 00:02:57.47\00:02:58.81 when we're in an emergency situation, 00:02:58.84\00:03:00.18 what to do? 00:03:00.21\00:03:01.54 And when there's a place for modern medicine. 00:03:01.58\00:03:03.11 'Cause some people can do everything perfect 00:03:03.14\00:03:05.65 and still have these bad things happen, 00:03:05.68\00:03:07.72 still need a stent. 00:03:07.75\00:03:09.45 So that's why not only focus on the acute care, 00:03:09.48\00:03:11.92 but down the road we say, 00:03:11.95\00:03:13.29 "Well, what could have caused this to happen?" 00:03:13.32\00:03:15.92 So when a chronic situation like that, let's talk, 00:03:15.96\00:03:17.89 what are the top few things that you will tell people 00:03:17.93\00:03:20.96 that they need to be looking at doing 00:03:21.00\00:03:23.06 in a chronic situation where they have an issue? 00:03:23.10\00:03:24.67 Okay. 00:03:24.70\00:03:26.03 So what do you from, 00:03:26.07\00:03:27.40 person's having symptoms or no symptoms at all 00:03:27.44\00:03:29.24 or already had the event? 00:03:29.27\00:03:30.81 So let's say, they already had an event. 00:03:30.84\00:03:32.17 Okay. 00:03:32.21\00:03:33.54 What would you recommend for that? 00:03:33.58\00:03:34.91 So let's say, you've had a bypass surgery, 00:03:34.94\00:03:36.28 and I've had bypass surgeries 00:03:36.31\00:03:37.65 in 20 year olds, 30 year olds, 40 year olds. 00:03:37.68\00:03:40.02 So when they come back, I said, 00:03:40.05\00:03:41.55 "Well, the first thing we do is treat the symptom." 00:03:41.58\00:03:45.05 And we treat the symptoms with modern medicines, 00:03:45.09\00:03:47.52 stents, bypass, medications. 00:03:47.56\00:03:50.56 Then I have to convince that person. 00:03:50.59\00:03:52.89 For you instance I said, you know, Nick, 00:03:52.93\00:03:54.96 we treated the symptom but not the cause. 00:03:55.00\00:03:58.27 And then you get curious, well, what could cause it? 00:03:58.30\00:04:00.24 Well, I might ask you about your genetics, 00:04:00.27\00:04:02.47 and you say, "Well, my dad had a heart attack 00:04:02.50\00:04:03.91 when he was very young." 00:04:03.94\00:04:05.27 I said, "Well, you're predisposed 00:04:05.31\00:04:06.64 to having damage to your arteries, 00:04:06.68\00:04:08.01 they are aging quicker. 00:04:08.04\00:04:09.54 What can we do to slow down aging? 00:04:09.58\00:04:11.71 What can we slowdown to putting these fat 00:04:11.75\00:04:13.85 which can trigger these heart attacks 00:04:13.88\00:04:15.22 in the arteries. 00:04:15.25\00:04:16.58 So we might talk about different stressors 00:04:16.62\00:04:18.72 on the blood vessels like nutrition. 00:04:18.75\00:04:21.29 We know that fat is damaging if we take too much fat in. 00:04:21.32\00:04:24.43 So I might say, Nick, why don't we try 00:04:24.46\00:04:26.39 to turn this disease off a little bit 00:04:26.43\00:04:28.46 with a plant based diet. 00:04:28.50\00:04:29.83 Okay? Right. 00:04:29.86\00:04:31.20 So I might talk to you about eating more plants. 00:04:31.23\00:04:34.20 And I said, I'll say, "You know that ice cream, 00:04:34.24\00:04:36.44 lots of fat, cheese, lots of fat." 00:04:36.47\00:04:38.84 If you eat more than 10 00:04:38.87\00:04:40.24 to 15% your calories and your fat, 00:04:40.28\00:04:41.94 and you have genetics, it stores it. 00:04:41.98\00:04:43.55 Right. 00:04:43.58\00:04:44.91 So I said, so that could damage your arteries. 00:04:44.95\00:04:46.78 And, Nick, you smoke. 00:04:46.82\00:04:48.98 That's not good, that can damage your arteries, 00:04:49.02\00:04:50.99 can constrict them, it can cause damage. 00:04:51.02\00:04:53.36 And, Nick, your life is too stressful, 00:04:53.39\00:04:56.39 you're worried all the time, 00:04:56.42\00:04:57.76 and you stay up too late at night 00:04:57.79\00:04:59.13 and you work too hard. 00:04:59.16\00:05:00.50 And all that makes adrenaline and cortisol 00:05:00.53\00:05:02.56 which dries up your blood pressure, 00:05:02.60\00:05:04.53 damages the inside lining, ages them quicker, 00:05:04.57\00:05:08.30 makes you more susceptible to have aging. 00:05:08.34\00:05:10.54 Have you ever looked at a president 00:05:10.57\00:05:11.94 before and after he gets office? 00:05:11.97\00:05:13.31 I've seen some of those pictures. 00:05:13.34\00:05:14.68 Yeah, they get old, right? They're quite dramatic. 00:05:14.71\00:05:16.54 So any type of stress can make us, 00:05:16.58\00:05:18.65 our genetics older including mental stress. 00:05:18.68\00:05:21.15 So I might look at your life and say, 00:05:21.18\00:05:22.52 "Listen, are you sleeping enough? 00:05:22.55\00:05:24.05 You've the stress of life from not sleeping enough." 00:05:24.09\00:05:27.06 A lot of people have stress 00:05:27.09\00:05:28.42 just because they don't move the body. 00:05:28.46\00:05:31.36 So I would look at, some people have stress 00:05:31.39\00:05:33.19 because they don't drink enough water. 00:05:33.23\00:05:34.56 Right. 00:05:34.60\00:05:35.93 So in treating, 00:05:35.96\00:05:37.30 and this would treat the arteries 00:05:37.33\00:05:38.67 that are already diseased, 00:05:38.70\00:05:40.04 I would say let's do all of this 00:05:40.07\00:05:41.40 and maybe we can prevent disease. 00:05:41.44\00:05:42.77 I really focus on movement, 00:05:42.80\00:05:44.21 because movement can grow new blood vessels in the heart. 00:05:44.24\00:05:47.18 It can make the arteries bigger, okay? 00:05:47.21\00:05:49.94 I would focus on nutrition, like we talked about 00:05:49.98\00:05:52.35 because that could actually reverse disease. 00:05:52.38\00:05:55.25 We have studies that show that people 00:05:55.28\00:05:56.62 that get on plant based diets, stress reduction, exercise 00:05:56.65\00:06:00.42 depending on their genetics, 00:06:00.46\00:06:02.02 they can get the plaques out of the arteries. 00:06:02.06\00:06:04.76 So they can lessen their chance 00:06:04.79\00:06:06.13 of having another acute events. 00:06:06.16\00:06:08.03 We talked about oxidation 00:06:08.06\00:06:09.73 and all the things we do in life that, 00:06:09.76\00:06:11.67 that turns on this rusting process 00:06:11.70\00:06:13.47 in the body. 00:06:13.50\00:06:14.84 So we'd sort of look at everything, 00:06:14.87\00:06:16.20 and then I would sort of pick the thing 00:06:16.24\00:06:17.77 that we'd wanna work on first, 00:06:17.81\00:06:19.67 one step at a time. 00:06:19.71\00:06:21.04 But I'd say, 00:06:21.08\00:06:22.41 but if you ever have a symptom 00:06:22.44\00:06:23.88 you gotta get help right now. 00:06:23.91\00:06:25.25 Right. 00:06:25.28\00:06:26.61 And then let's work on these and hopefully, 00:06:26.65\00:06:27.98 you have genetics 00:06:28.02\00:06:29.35 that won't keep this from happening. 00:06:29.38\00:06:30.72 Now lot of people can't do this, Nick. 00:06:30.75\00:06:32.19 They say, "I can't do this, I can't do this." 00:06:32.22\00:06:34.16 And I say, "Well, I think I can help you a little bit. 00:06:34.19\00:06:37.66 You know, let's focus on the positives." 00:06:37.69\00:06:39.56 And then I would sort of turn them to... 00:06:39.59\00:06:41.90 There's worship. 00:06:41.93\00:06:43.26 I say, "God gives us the power to do things 00:06:43.30\00:06:46.07 that we don't think we can do on our own." 00:06:46.10\00:06:47.87 Yeah. 00:06:47.90\00:06:49.24 You know sometimes it sounds like, 00:06:49.27\00:06:51.14 just these little things like drinking enough water, 00:06:51.17\00:06:53.41 it seems like they kind of unimportant 00:06:53.44\00:06:54.78 but they make a big difference. 00:06:54.81\00:06:56.21 Now you mentioned plant based nutrition, 00:06:56.24\00:06:58.25 I know that, we've talked in the past about greens 00:06:58.28\00:07:00.58 and how powerful they can be 00:07:00.62\00:07:01.98 in helping the cardiovascular system. 00:07:02.02\00:07:04.62 Tell us what's happening when we are eating greens? 00:07:04.65\00:07:06.22 Greens are probably one of the best treatments 00:07:06.25\00:07:09.32 for heart disease 00:07:09.36\00:07:10.93 and best ways to prevent heart disease. 00:07:10.96\00:07:13.60 Greens have very powerful chemicals, 00:07:13.63\00:07:16.26 you know, and when they get in the body, 00:07:16.30\00:07:17.67 they make nitrous oxide, 00:07:17.70\00:07:19.03 yeah, converted nitrous oxide 00:07:19.07\00:07:20.40 which makes the arteries bigger, 00:07:20.44\00:07:21.77 it helps, the inside linings stay healthier 00:07:21.80\00:07:24.87 and it does a lot of good things. 00:07:24.91\00:07:26.31 So I tell my heart patients to try 00:07:26.34\00:07:28.14 to eat something green every day. 00:07:28.18\00:07:30.91 And then they always ask me, 00:07:30.95\00:07:32.28 "Well, what are the bad things to eat?" 00:07:32.31\00:07:33.88 And I say, "Well you know, and things that have fat in it, 00:07:33.92\00:07:36.89 cheese not so good, 00:07:36.92\00:07:38.95 ice cream not so good, 00:07:38.99\00:07:41.09 meat, dairy not so good, 00:07:41.12\00:07:43.53 processed foods not so good" 00:07:43.56\00:07:45.09 'cause also people don't realize... 00:07:45.13\00:07:47.00 Remember, the arteries that feed the heart 00:07:47.03\00:07:49.06 can be damaged by high blood pressure. 00:07:49.10\00:07:51.50 If pressure is high day in day out, 00:07:51.53\00:07:53.94 we get that in a lot of foods 00:07:53.97\00:07:55.30 with sodium in it, processed foods. 00:07:55.34\00:07:57.97 We get a lot of processed foods, 00:07:58.01\00:07:59.67 lot of sodium, it damages the vessel, 00:07:59.71\00:08:01.88 the endothelium makes it more prone 00:08:01.91\00:08:04.25 to have these plaques, 00:08:04.28\00:08:05.68 aging of the artery, oxidation, 00:08:05.71\00:08:08.02 this whole process occurs again and again. 00:08:08.05\00:08:11.19 The average person only needs 00:08:11.22\00:08:12.99 about 500 milligrams of sodium a day, 00:08:13.02\00:08:15.56 but in America we take as much as 3500 milligrams a day. 00:08:15.59\00:08:20.46 And depending on your genetics, it can damage your vessels, 00:08:20.50\00:08:23.97 they wear out. 00:08:24.00\00:08:25.33 When a vessel wears out, you get a symptom, 00:08:25.37\00:08:27.37 then you go to the doctor for modern medicine. 00:08:27.40\00:08:30.11 So there's a lot of lifestyle choices 00:08:30.14\00:08:32.17 that it sounds like you recommend 00:08:32.21\00:08:33.54 to your patients. 00:08:33.58\00:08:34.91 What would you say is may be the most important thing 00:08:34.94\00:08:37.31 to help them have success in changing 00:08:37.35\00:08:39.58 some of these lifestyle habits of theirs. 00:08:39.61\00:08:41.38 I really think after doing this for nearly 30 years, 00:08:41.42\00:08:44.69 that the key to health and lifestyle is worship. 00:08:44.72\00:08:48.56 Because when we come to God, 00:08:48.59\00:08:50.83 He gives us the power to change things 00:08:50.86\00:08:53.29 for the right reasons. 00:08:53.33\00:08:54.96 He knows our hearts, He knows how to help us, 00:08:55.00\00:08:57.83 He knows, you know He wants us to be well. 00:08:57.87\00:09:00.34 Now sometimes He chooses not to do things, 00:09:00.37\00:09:03.37 but we just got to trust Him, 00:09:03.41\00:09:04.97 you know, for His will and ask every day. 00:09:05.01\00:09:06.88 So I try to encourage all my patients 00:09:06.91\00:09:09.04 to get in a worship program, 00:09:09.08\00:09:11.15 where they get God to help them, 00:09:11.18\00:09:12.51 to feel His power in his life. 00:09:12.55\00:09:14.72 And God also gives, 00:09:14.75\00:09:16.08 you know, different biblical prescriptions 00:09:16.12\00:09:17.75 and texts in the Bible that could also help us. 00:09:17.79\00:09:20.36 And as they done that, I say, 00:09:20.39\00:09:22.29 "Well, let's work on one step at a time, 00:09:22.32\00:09:24.19 let's not get discouraged, you know, 00:09:24.23\00:09:26.39 let's, maybe just focus on this and this." 00:09:26.43\00:09:28.73 And I'd say, "Let's not focus on the negatives, 00:09:28.76\00:09:31.17 but the positive things we can do, 00:09:31.20\00:09:32.83 so we don't have to use modern medicine 00:09:32.87\00:09:35.00 like we've seen here." 00:09:35.04\00:09:36.37 The coronary disease is so common in this world. 00:09:36.40\00:09:40.28 You know, certain animals that never have stress 00:09:40.31\00:09:43.01 or that never have. 00:09:43.04\00:09:44.78 I think about elephants. 00:09:44.81\00:09:46.15 Elephants eat a plant-based diet, 00:09:46.18\00:09:47.78 they drink a lot of water, 00:09:47.82\00:09:49.22 they're happy all the time, they're not stressed, 00:09:49.25\00:09:51.59 they get out in the sunshine. 00:09:51.62\00:09:52.95 You know, we don't think they have heart attacks, right? 00:09:52.99\00:09:54.79 Yeah. 00:09:54.82\00:09:56.16 So we wanna be more like elephants. 00:09:56.19\00:09:57.53 But we all do have genetic susceptibilities 00:09:57.56\00:09:59.79 that we have to pay attention to. 00:09:59.83\00:10:01.16 Yeah. 00:10:01.20\00:10:02.53 Well, we've got a biblical prescription 00:10:02.56\00:10:04.30 that you've prepared for us. 00:10:04.33\00:10:05.67 So you mention that's 00:10:05.70\00:10:07.04 one of the best things we can do is, 00:10:07.07\00:10:08.40 is turn to the scriptures to help us learn 00:10:08.44\00:10:10.61 and be able to follow God's plan for our life. 00:10:10.64\00:10:12.21 So why don't you share that with us now? 00:10:12.24\00:10:13.58 Well, a biblical prescription is something 00:10:13.61\00:10:15.84 that God gives us in the scriptures 00:10:15.88\00:10:18.71 that we can depend on 00:10:18.75\00:10:20.22 and sometimes there is science, 00:10:20.25\00:10:21.58 you know, it's not there to prove it. 00:10:21.62\00:10:22.95 But just 'cause something hasn't been proven 00:10:22.98\00:10:25.29 doesn't mean it's not true. 00:10:25.32\00:10:27.09 But the scripture is always faithful. 00:10:27.12\00:10:29.92 God tells us there's some benefit in scripture. 00:10:29.96\00:10:32.36 So I look at the scriptures, 00:10:32.39\00:10:34.36 I try to find the evidence behind it, 00:10:34.40\00:10:36.46 the science and then apply this as a prescription, 00:10:36.50\00:10:39.70 something a person can use to change their physiology. 00:10:39.73\00:10:43.17 So today I like us to focus on Genesis 1:29, 00:10:43.20\00:10:48.98 "And God said, and God said, 00:10:49.01\00:10:51.38 'See, I have given you every herb that yields seed 00:10:51.41\00:10:54.62 which is on the face of all the earth, 00:10:54.65\00:10:56.48 and every tree whose fruit yields seed, 00:10:56.52\00:10:59.05 to you it shall be for food or for meat." 00:10:59.09\00:11:02.62 Okay? Yeah. 00:11:02.66\00:11:03.99 It really meant food in that thing. 00:11:04.03\00:11:05.89 So God has given us basically plants to eat. 00:11:05.93\00:11:10.57 So plants are good for us, okay? 00:11:10.60\00:11:13.44 And we now have the studies 00:11:13.47\00:11:15.37 that show that people that eat plant-based diets 00:11:15.40\00:11:18.31 have less evidences of cardiovascular disease. 00:11:18.34\00:11:21.31 We now have evidence 00:11:21.34\00:11:22.68 that we can actually reverse this disease 00:11:22.71\00:11:25.05 with plant-based diets. 00:11:25.08\00:11:27.55 And so this is something that God gave us 00:11:27.58\00:11:29.62 way back long time ago. 00:11:29.65\00:11:31.12 He says, "You listen, 00:11:31.15\00:11:32.49 this is my recommendation to you 00:11:32.52\00:11:34.29 that you eat plants. 00:11:34.32\00:11:35.82 This is the benefit of eating plants." 00:11:35.86\00:11:37.99 And now we have the evidence 00:11:38.03\00:11:39.56 that eating a plant-based diet 00:11:39.59\00:11:41.43 lowers the risk of cardiovascular disease. 00:11:41.46\00:11:44.07 It can be used, is not only to way to prevent disease 00:11:44.10\00:11:46.87 and aging of the body, but to prevent disease. 00:11:46.90\00:11:49.90 These plants have 00:11:49.94\00:11:51.47 powerful antioxidants, phytonutrients, 00:11:51.51\00:11:54.84 all good things that can lower the risk 00:11:54.88\00:11:57.21 of us having coronary disease that effects the heart. 00:11:57.25\00:12:00.12 Yeah. 00:12:00.15\00:12:01.48 You know, it reminds me story of Daniel. 00:12:01.52\00:12:03.12 He knew what he was, 00:12:03.15\00:12:04.49 what he was doing way before our time 00:12:04.52\00:12:07.82 when he asked for a plant-based diet. 00:12:07.86\00:12:09.99 Yeah. That's fantastic. 00:12:10.03\00:12:11.39 Well, Dr. Marcum, thank you very much 00:12:11.43\00:12:12.76 for sharing with us today. 00:12:12.79\00:12:14.13 I understand a bit more 00:12:14.16\00:12:15.50 about coronary artery disease myself, 00:12:15.53\00:12:17.90 and I'm sure our listeners at home 00:12:17.93\00:12:19.27 will really appreciate this conversation. 00:12:19.30\00:12:21.30 Where can people go 00:12:21.34\00:12:22.67 when they wanna learn more about health 00:12:22.70\00:12:24.04 from faith based perspective? 00:12:24.07\00:12:25.41 Well, there's lots of places, they wanna look at our website 00:12:25.44\00:12:28.24 HeartWiseMinistries.org. 00:12:28.28\00:12:30.18 We answer people's questions. 00:12:30.21\00:12:31.71 We have a lot of resources, prayer pages, 00:12:31.75\00:12:33.95 ways to learn about the balance of all this. 00:12:33.98\00:12:36.99 Also we created an app, 00:12:37.02\00:12:38.82 a biblical prescription app that people can actually use 00:12:38.85\00:12:42.12 and download on their device for free 00:12:42.16\00:12:45.53 that walks them through worship, 00:12:45.56\00:12:47.30 also gives them great hints 00:12:47.33\00:12:49.00 to lower the risk of cardiovascular disease, 00:12:49.03\00:12:51.13 and if they are having problems, 00:12:51.17\00:12:52.57 get help right away. 00:12:52.60\00:12:54.24 Dr. Marcum, thank you very much for sharing with us today, 00:12:54.27\00:12:56.37 and viewers we hope you've enjoyed today's program 00:12:56.40\00:12:58.17 on the Ultimate Prescription. 00:12:58.21\00:12:59.54 That's all the time we have for now. 00:12:59.57\00:13:00.91 We look forward to sharing more with you 00:13:00.94\00:13:02.28 in a moment, and Dr. Marcum 00:13:02.31\00:13:03.68 will close the program with prayer. 00:13:03.71\00:13:05.05 Let's spend a moment and go 00:13:12.65\00:13:14.36 to the Ultimate Physician in prayer. 00:13:14.39\00:13:17.99 Father God, there's some out there 00:13:18.03\00:13:19.69 that need Your special help today. 00:13:19.73\00:13:22.26 Some might have experienced coronary disease 00:13:22.30\00:13:24.43 or in family members. 00:13:24.47\00:13:25.80 We wanna pray 00:13:25.83\00:13:27.17 that you be especially close to them 00:13:27.20\00:13:28.80 and lead us to health, Father, 00:13:28.84\00:13:30.67 help us to continue in worship 00:13:30.71\00:13:32.34 and show us the balance in life, 00:13:32.37\00:13:34.08 is our most humble prayer. 00:13:34.11\00:13:36.18 Amen. 00:13:36.21\00:13:38.25 I wanna thank each one of you 00:13:38.28\00:13:39.61 for joining us today on Ultimate Prescription, 00:13:39.65\00:13:43.18 and stay with us frequently, 00:13:43.22\00:13:44.89 and we'll be talking more about your health concerns. 00:13:44.92\00:13:47.32
