That's a great question... 00:00:40.95\00:00:42.77 Well, let's look at the Garden of Eden, 00:00:42.80\00:00:44.94 and also let's look at the science behind it. 00:00:44.97\00:00:47.56 Well we know that people that are active, that are working 00:00:47.59\00:00:50.07 that are exercising movement lowers blood pressure. 00:00:50.10\00:00:53.73 No pills necessary... Television! 00:02:39.30\00:02:41.36 I think television stresses people out.. you know. 00:02:41.39\00:02:43.66 You know - when they watch a violent show, 00:02:43.69\00:02:45.67 you know that's stressful for some people. 00:02:45.70\00:02:47.62 When you watch the news and hear all the bad things... 00:02:47.65\00:02:50.25 We weren't made to know what is going 3,000 miles, 00:02:50.28\00:02:53.07 what someone else did that bad - that all goes in our mind, 00:02:53.10\00:02:56.10 it all creates a chemical reaction. 00:02:56.13\00:02:58.30 So when all this is bombarded with us and we have all the 00:02:58.33\00:03:01.11 media that is around us and texting and cell phones, 00:03:01.14\00:03:04.50 and busy jobs and not resting at night, 00:03:04.53\00:03:07.12 sooner or later, our stress level continues to climb 00:03:07.15\00:03:10.05 and not only do we have high blood pressure, 00:03:10.08\00:03:12.16 but we also have all these skips. 00:03:12.19\00:03:14.13 So remember, we were sort of designed for a little bit 00:03:14.16\00:03:18.28 simpler of a life. 00:03:18.31\00:03:20.37 If we would have needed all this stuff at the very beginning 00:03:20.40\00:03:22.87 don't you think God would have given it to us at creation? 00:03:22.90\00:03:25.70 He gave us what we needed... 00:03:25.73\00:03:27.49 We've created a lot of stuff that MAYBE we don't need... 00:03:27.52\00:03:31.48 And as we've brought stuff into the equation, 00:03:31.51\00:03:33.88 there comes from chemical consequences. 00:03:33.91\00:03:36.08 So those are some simple NATURAL ways 00:03:36.11\00:03:38.33 you can do to help lower your blood pressure. 00:03:38.36\00:03:40.59 You know, a lot of people listening to that list 00:03:40.62\00:03:42.47 that you just gave and they say, 00:03:42.51\00:03:43.63 "Well okay, I will try #3, or I will try #4" 00:03:43.66\00:03:48.27 And we've got to say that anything you do 00:03:48.30\00:03:51.00 is going to be helpful, but if you want to enjoy 00:03:51.03\00:03:54.62 release from the problems that we're facing, 00:03:54.65\00:03:58.09 you really need to do most if not all of them. 00:03:58.12\00:04:01.18 Would I be on the right track here? Yeah 00:04:01.21\00:04:02.34 I mean, everything helps, but you've got to do them 00:04:02.37\00:04:04.92 and you've got to do them consistently, 00:04:04.95\00:04:06.51 and you've got to do a lot of them. 00:04:06.54\00:04:07.69 But I found some people, Charles 00:04:07.73\00:04:08.85 they just can do one thing at a time, 00:04:08.88\00:04:11.20 and if they stick with it, they feel better, 00:04:11.23\00:04:13.31 and the next thing - the place I start is 00:04:13.34\00:04:16.80 try to get into a relationship with their Creator. 00:04:16.83\00:04:19.51 Let Him come into your life and tell you and help you 00:04:19.54\00:04:22.50 do these things so you don't have to do it all by yourself. 00:04:22.53\00:04:25.27 Come into that relationship and He could say, 00:04:25.30\00:04:26.98 "Well, maybe I should drink more water, eat more better," 00:04:27.01\00:04:29.38 and as you do that, you'll feel Him working in your life, 00:04:29.41\00:04:31.81 your chemistry will be changing. 00:04:31.84\00:04:34.30 Now you have something here on the desk that I want to 00:04:34.33\00:04:36.50 just hold up so everyone can see it because there are a lot 00:04:36.53\00:04:39.49 of questions about this particular device. 00:04:39.52\00:04:41.80 This is a pacemaker and we hear a lot about people 00:04:41.83\00:04:45.68 getting pacemakers put into their bodies... 00:04:45.71\00:04:48.10 When do we know that we need to have a pacemaker? 00:04:48.13\00:04:52.15 What are the indications that it's pacemaker time? 00:04:52.18\00:04:54.26 Well we talked a lot about skips hearts... 00:04:54.29\00:04:56.93 You know skips usually aren't dangerous as long as someone 00:04:56.96\00:04:59.60 is not passing out. 00:04:59.63\00:05:01.06 But prolonged fast rhythms can be dangerous; 00:05:01.09\00:05:04.22 prolonged slow rhythms can be dangerous... 00:05:04.25\00:05:06.75 And again, if the rhythm is going slow, 00:05:06.78\00:05:08.90 usually it has a symptom. 00:05:08.93\00:05:10.97 If the heart rhythm is going too slow, 00:05:11.00\00:05:13.26 sometimes people get dizzy, they're fatigued, 00:05:13.29\00:05:15.71 they pass out. 00:05:15.74\00:05:17.22 We tell this by putting monitors on us to say, 00:05:17.25\00:05:19.65 "Wow Charles, your heart was only going 30, 00:05:19.68\00:05:21.51 and it did not speed up" 00:05:21.54\00:05:23.06 "We think you might need a pacemaker. Yeah 00:06:27.48\00:06:28.51 And he talked to me - "Is there anything I can do 00:06:28.54\00:06:30.51 naturally to replace it? 00:06:30.55\00:06:32.01 I said, "No, there's really not 00:06:32.04\00:06:33.33 anything to replace what's worn out, 00:06:33.36\00:06:35.08 but we do have a pacemaker. " 00:06:35.11\00:06:36.58 So he's got a pacemaker; 00:06:36.61\00:06:37.79 he's still continuing in his ministry. 00:06:37.82\00:06:40.07 If he didn't have that pacemaker, 00:06:40.10\00:06:41.59 eventually his heart would have gone slower and slower 00:06:41.62\00:06:43.76 and slower and eventually would have stopped. 00:06:43.79\00:06:46.46 So pacemakers are a great example of a 00:06:46.49\00:06:49.83 great place for modern medicine. 00:06:49.86\00:06:51.67 Now let's talk a little bit more about this pacemaker. 00:06:51.70\00:06:54.20 I love the technical aspect of medicine. 00:06:54.23\00:06:56.90 You make an incision someplace on the chest, 00:06:56.93\00:06:59.27 and you just slip this guy right inside there and there's wires 00:06:59.30\00:07:01.43 It goes underneath the skin and there are 2 wires that we run 00:07:01.46\00:07:04.21 into the heart; one does the pacing, 00:07:04.24\00:07:06.69 and one also does the sensing. 00:07:06.72\00:07:08.74 Sometimes if your heart goes above a certain speed, 00:07:08.77\00:07:11.08 we don't need to pace it. 00:07:11.11\00:07:12.35 Sometimes it might just drop below a certain speed at times. 00:07:12.38\00:07:15.61 Then sometimes, every beat needs to be paced. 00:07:15.64\00:07:18.69 The battery part usually lasts about 7 years, 00:07:18.72\00:07:21.45 and then we replace this part, we leave the wires in, 00:07:21.48\00:07:24.40 we replace this part and put a new one in. 00:07:24.43\00:07:26.08 So you have to make the incision again, open it up, 00:07:26.11\00:07:28.05 take it out, put it in and then... 00:07:28.08\00:07:29.17 Just like a car battery, except we have 00:07:29.20\00:07:31.05 to go through the incision place... 00:07:31.09\00:07:32.61 When you get the pacemaker replaced, 00:07:32.65\00:07:34.14 it's much easier than the first because the first time, 00:07:34.17\00:07:36.12 we have to position the wires in the correct positions 00:07:36.15\00:07:38.54 in the heart and usually, depending on what type of 00:07:38.57\00:07:41.35 rhythm problem you have, one goes in the top part 00:07:41.38\00:07:43.70 that is the atrium and then one goes in the bottom 00:07:43.73\00:07:45.93 in the ventricle and those are the right side of the heart. 00:07:45.96\00:07:47.97 I am amazed at modern medicine, 00:07:48.00\00:07:50.26 I really am, because it has such an important place 00:07:50.29\00:07:54.50 in our lives and has such an important part to play, 00:07:54.53\00:07:57.11 but we've got to know when to play it - that's the thing. 00:07:57.14\00:08:00.17 The balance - we have to make sure that we understand that. 00:08:00.20\00:08:02.43 There are natural things we can do and God has put 00:08:02.46\00:08:05.02 natural laws for us to follow that can bring about 00:08:05.05\00:08:07.14 AMAZING results... 00:08:07.17\00:08:08.23 But there comes a TIME, there may be an event 00:08:08.26\00:08:11.56 that requires that modern medicine step in... 00:08:11.59\00:08:14.30 And I'm a firm believer that God created modern medicine 00:08:14.33\00:08:17.99 to be there for those times 00:08:18.02\00:08:19.36 because we are living in a very unnatural world! 00:08:19.39\00:08:21.88 We are living in a world of sin where things are damaged, 00:08:21.91\00:08:24.22 and where hurt happens... 00:08:24.25\00:08:25.69 And when we say "modern medicine is bad, 00:08:25.72\00:08:29.12 natural is good," we're making a big mistake 00:08:29.15\00:08:31.34 because God has made available these modern 00:08:31.37\00:08:33.74 wonders like these pacemakers. 00:08:33.77\00:08:36.13 When God puts these in the mind of someone 00:08:36.16\00:08:38.92 or the inventor someplace and this pacemaker is made for us, 00:08:38.95\00:08:42.66 that's an answer from God and we can praise God for it. 00:08:42.69\00:08:45.77 But before we run to modern medicine 00:08:45.80\00:08:48.02 for every ill that we have, we look for that pill, 00:08:48.05\00:08:50.33 and so they'll send us a bill and get rid of our ills, 00:08:50.36\00:08:52.60 we need to think - what can I do naturally? 00:08:52.63\00:08:55.27 Now of course, we need to talk about this... 00:08:55.30\00:08:58.66 There are some dangers involved 00:08:58.69\00:09:00.70 with taking some of these medications, 00:09:00.73\00:09:01.96 and this is a question that came into 00:09:01.99\00:09:03.02 heartwiseministries. org 00:09:03.05\00:09:04.45 "What are the dangers of blood pressure medications?" 00:09:04.48\00:09:07.86 And there's no medication for pacemaking, right? 00:09:07.89\00:09:10.03 No, no - no medicine, not long-term, okay? 00:09:10.06\00:09:13.42 If there was, it would probably have been invented, 00:09:13.45\00:09:15.78 and it would have kept the person on the medicine 00:09:15.81\00:09:17.43 for a long period of time. 00:09:17.46\00:09:18.81 But medicines for blood pressure... 00:09:18.84\00:09:21.65 you know, unfortunately, many people are on 00:09:21.68\00:09:23.40 medicines for blood pressure and they don't even know 00:09:23.43\00:09:25.40 why they have high blood pressure. 00:09:25.43\00:09:27.17 So blood pressure medicines all have risk. 00:09:27.20\00:09:29.51 There's a type of blood pressure medicine that takes sodium out, 00:09:29.54\00:09:32.39 salt out of your body, and some of these medicines 00:09:32.42\00:09:35.48 take potassium out of your body, 00:09:35.51\00:09:37.44 and when you take too much sodium and potassium 00:09:37.47\00:09:39.71 out of the body, you could get dehydrated 00:09:39.74\00:09:41.68 or your potassium could go low. 00:09:41.71\00:09:43.75 So getting dehydrated could make you dizzy and pass out. 00:09:43.78\00:09:46.74 It could hurt your kidneys. 00:09:46.77\00:09:47.85 Low potassium could cause a funny heart rhythm. 00:09:47.88\00:09:50.69 One of the most serious problems with blood pressure is 00:09:50.72\00:09:53.07 the blood pressure going too low. 00:09:53.10\00:09:55.79 So the blood pressure might get too low, 00:09:55.82\00:09:57.69 you do not get enough blood to your head, 00:09:57.72\00:09:59.20 you might get dizzy, you might pass out 00:09:59.23\00:10:01.67 ESPECIALLY if you might be dehydrated 00:10:01.70\00:10:04.48 which also causes the blood pressure to go low. 00:10:04.51\00:10:07.68 All the blood pressure medicines can cause you to be fatigued, 00:10:07.71\00:10:11.60 and there are lots of other side effects. 00:10:11.63\00:10:13.26 Some of the blood pressure medicines also slow down 00:10:13.29\00:10:15.68 your heart - so your heart can't speed up as fast. 00:10:15.71\00:10:18.76 So every medicine has a risk as well as a benefit, 00:10:18.79\00:10:22.36 and that's why you have to talk to your doctor - what's the risk 00:10:22.39\00:10:24.89 But the biggest risk I see with blood pressure medicines 00:10:24.92\00:10:27.29 are the side effects like fatigue and tiredness, 00:10:27.32\00:10:30.29 low blood pressure, the electrolyte problems 00:10:30.32\00:10:33.05 if it's one that takes fluid out of your body, 00:10:33.08\00:10:34.70 and sometimes you even have potassium 00:10:34.73\00:10:36.53 if it's one of the diuretic-type medicines. 00:10:36.56\00:10:38.83 So that's just a few, but yes, blood pressure 00:10:38.86\00:10:41.12 medicines have to be treated with respect. 00:10:41.15\00:10:43.46 But first, I want to encourage people... 00:10:43.49\00:10:45.17 you have to know if you truly have high blood pressure, 00:10:45.20\00:10:47.84 and if there's a cause that you can do something about 00:10:47.87\00:10:50.33 to have a natural remedy. 00:10:50.36\00:10:51.93 For instance, if you have too much sodium in your body, 00:10:51.96\00:10:54.11 if you can quit eating processed foods and go to a healthy diet, 00:10:54.14\00:10:57.37 sometimes the blood pressure will come down just like that. 00:10:57.40\00:10:59.97 You know, Dr. Hans Diehl, he's a good friend of yours 00:11:00.00\00:11:02.46 and mine too - Dr. Hans Diehl of the CHIP Program 00:11:02.49\00:11:04.94 has mentioned a nice little test that you can have 00:11:04.97\00:11:07.88 when you buy a processed food, 00:11:07.91\00:11:09.56 if you insist on eating a processed food, 00:11:09.59\00:11:11.36 and some processed foods, you know, that have been into 00:11:11.39\00:11:14.21 cans or frozen whatnot are fine. 00:11:14.24\00:11:16.15 What you do is you look at the label and you find 00:11:16.18\00:11:19.50 processed foods where the sodium count is equal to or lower 00:11:19.53\00:11:24.12 than the calorie count. 00:11:24.15\00:11:25.96 If this product has 90 calories, then you don't want to have 00:11:25.99\00:11:29.93 anymore than 90 mg of sodium in this thing. 00:11:29.96\00:11:32.39 You will need to find that sodium count LOWER 00:11:32.42\00:11:34.84 or the same as the calorie count. 00:11:34.87\00:11:38.04 Kind of a nice way of, when you're shopping, 00:11:38.07\00:11:39.75 to look and see if you are getting something 00:11:39.78\00:11:41.31 with too much sodium in it, 00:11:41.34\00:11:42.44 and that's very easy to do in processed foods. 00:11:42.47\00:11:44.54 Again, the sodium problem is usually not from the shaker 00:11:44.57\00:11:47.85 on the table that you have there. 00:11:47.88\00:11:49.16 It's usually from the processed foods that you eat, 00:11:49.19\00:11:51.52 and you have to watch out for that. 00:11:51.55\00:11:53.04 So if you want to lower your blood pressure, 00:11:53.07\00:11:55.02 there are some things that we can do naturally, 00:11:55.05\00:11:56.89 and if you want to keep that arrhythmia from happening, 00:11:56.92\00:11:59.82 unfortunately you need to have modern medicine 00:11:59.85\00:12:02.22 step in under those circumstances possibly... 00:12:02.25\00:12:04.48 Rhythms -
