Yeah. 00:01:39.53\00:01:41.71 Can this model will help us. All right. 00:01:41.74\00:01:43.92 Right when we lead the heart oxygen-rich blood-- 00:01:43.95\00:01:46.41 these arteries right here that feed the heart. 00:01:46.44\00:01:48.47 They are called the coronary arteries. Okay. 00:01:48.50\00:01:50.67 And they feed the heart right 00:01:50.70\00:01:52.13 as soon as it leads going out this big vessel called aorta. 00:01:52.16\00:01:55.60 Now Charles, this is a heart you would not one have. 00:01:55.63\00:01:58.43 This is a hardened heart. How hardened it is. 00:01:58.46\00:02:00.40 Heart of wood. Heart of stone. Heart of wood. 00:02:00.43\00:02:03.32 So you don't want to have this heart. 00:02:03.35\00:02:04.59 But a patient made this for me. 00:02:04.62\00:02:06.25 But the arteries come out here 00:02:06.28\00:02:07.31 and they feed the heart. 00:02:07.34\00:02:08.64 But remember the same vessels go throughout the body. Yes. 00:02:08.67\00:02:12.13 So the same disease that fills-- 00:02:12.16\00:02:14.84 that causes heart disease 00:02:14.87\00:02:16.09 or coronary artery disease or atherosclerosis. 00:02:16.12\00:02:19.08 It affects--the blood it goes to your brain 00:02:19.11\00:02:21.67 so people might not think right 00:02:21.70\00:02:23.18 leading to strokes and vascular disease. 00:02:23.21\00:02:25.05 It's one of the causes to dementia. 00:02:25.08\00:02:27.28 That damage could happen in the big vessel 00:02:27.31\00:02:29.28 called the aorta and it can cause aneurysm. 00:02:29.31\00:02:32.32 In the vessels of the legs 00:02:32.35\00:02:33.75 causing the legs not to get enough blood. 00:02:33.78\00:02:36.19 We call that a peripheral vascular disease. 00:02:36.22\00:02:38.20 And the symptom of that might be pain when you walk. 00:02:38.23\00:02:40.91 The arteries that go to your kidneys 00:02:40.94\00:02:42.64 the arteries that go to your gut, 00:02:42.67\00:02:44.34 the artery that goes to your reproductive organs. 00:02:44.37\00:02:46.44 So this is a systemic disease it goes everywhere. 00:02:46.47\00:02:50.12 So when do I recommend going to a doctor for this? 00:02:50.15\00:02:53.36 Well, one is, if you're having a symptom, 00:02:53.39\00:02:56.40 if you're having a symptom. 00:02:56.43\00:02:57.46 That's a great place to go to a doctor. 00:02:57.49\00:03:00.04 So let's say you're walking at the hill 00:03:00.07\00:03:02.05 and you might have chest pain that goes away when you rest. 00:03:02.08\00:03:04.72 That might be a sign that you're hearts not getting 00:03:04.75\00:03:06.79 enough blood or oxygen and that could be a symptom. 00:03:06.82\00:03:10.24 Let's say you're having mental problems 00:03:10.27\00:03:11.77 or part of your body is getting enough blood. 00:03:11.80\00:03:13.48 That might be a sign of blockage 00:03:13.51\00:03:14.93 in one of the vessels up in the brain. Yeah. 00:03:14.96\00:03:17.03 Let's say you have pain in the leg when you walk. 00:03:17.06\00:03:19.28 That could be a blockage in one of the arteries. 00:03:19.31\00:03:21.44 Let's say you're kidney function get's worse 00:03:21.47\00:03:23.42 or your blood pressure is out of whack. 00:03:23.45\00:03:25.33 That could be sign of a blockage 00:03:25.36\00:03:26.69 in the arteries to your kidneys. 00:03:26.72\00:03:28.19 So this can happen throughout the body. 00:03:28.22\00:03:30.64 So first of all, the time to go is if you're having symptoms 00:03:30.67\00:03:33.60 because we have got some great things 00:03:33.63\00:03:34.97 to help modern medicine. 00:03:35.00\00:03:36.34 We can bring more blood flow to the heart. 00:03:36.37\00:03:38.47 We can put stents in a bypass. We can put stents in the neck. 00:03:38.50\00:03:42.02 We can do a lot of things to help the blood improve 00:03:42.05\00:03:44.66 but at the same time that doesn't get 00:03:44.69\00:03:46.13 at the cause of the disease. 00:03:46.16\00:03:47.56 Now the symptoms you're talking about 00:03:47.59\00:03:48.83 are these symptoms that occur over a longtime, 00:03:48.86\00:03:52.64 not just one or two right away? 00:03:52.67\00:03:55.48 That's a good point. 00:03:55.51\00:03:56.54 By the time a person has symptom 00:03:56.57\00:03:59.54 they have pretty advanced disease. I see. 00:03:59.57\00:04:02.14 So you don't want to necessarily wait 00:04:02.17\00:04:04.08 till you have a symptom to see a doctor. 00:04:04.11\00:04:05.94 You might want to see a doctor 00:04:05.97\00:04:07.47 or physician or someone to help you to prevent this. 00:04:07.50\00:04:10.38 Or if you have it in early in stages 00:04:10.41\00:04:12.51 to help it not progressed to have big stages. 00:04:12.54\00:04:15.09 So when you're starting having symptoms go to see someone. 00:04:15.12\00:04:17.44 Right for sure. Yeah. 00:04:17.47\00:04:18.69 But some people even want to go see 00:04:18.72\00:04:20.05 someone to help them even ahead of time. Yes. 00:04:20.08\00:04:22.51 And you know to help them not have this disease 00:04:22.54\00:04:24.79 and people that are at the greatest risk 00:04:24.82\00:04:26.35 are people that have family histories 00:04:26.38\00:04:28.07 that might have a genetic predisposition, 00:04:28.10\00:04:30.38 might have other concomitant diseases 00:04:30.41\00:04:32.41 like diabetes, high blood pressure, 00:04:32.44\00:04:35.59 high cholesterol, smoke cigarettes. 00:04:35.62\00:04:38.82 Those are conditions that soon or later 00:04:38.85\00:04:41.15 could develop higher risk 00:04:41.18\00:04:42.41 of the developing the symptoms throughout the body. 00:04:42.44\00:04:44.79 So those people might want to get help early 00:04:44.82\00:04:46.89 to prevent having symptoms. 00:04:46.92\00:04:48.78 So I have some people that come to me 00:04:48.81\00:04:50.34 and they say listen I don't have a problem now 00:04:50.37\00:04:52.86 but I don't want to have a problem down the road. 00:04:52.89\00:04:55.27 Are there any things that I can do with my lifestyle 00:04:55.30\00:04:58.55 or with medicines or with my diet 00:04:58.58\00:05:01.72 to help me prevent getting this disease down the road? 00:05:01.75\00:05:04.90 And the word natural always comes up. Yeah. 00:05:04.93\00:05:07.67 Many people want to do it the natural way. 00:05:07.70\00:05:10.67 And today I want people to think about 00:05:10.70\00:05:12.76 the natural way is God's way. 00:05:12.79\00:05:16.21 And a lot of people think, 00:05:16.24\00:05:17.27 oh, if it's not a medicine it's natural. 00:05:17.30\00:05:19.93 If it doesn't come from a medical doctor it's natural. 00:05:19.96\00:05:22.46 And you know there's many different types of doctors 00:05:22.49\00:05:24.54 to go see nowadays. Yes. 00:05:24.57\00:05:25.93 You know you've got doctors of naturopathic medicine. 00:05:25.96\00:05:28.90 You've got chiropractors, you got nutritionist. 00:05:28.93\00:05:31.57 You got all sorts of different doctors. 00:05:31.60\00:05:33.52 And any one that helps heal somebody 00:05:33.55\00:05:36.19 I consider a healer. 00:05:36.22\00:05:38.84 Medical doctors are good at 00:05:38.87\00:05:40.06 giving medicines and treating symptoms. 00:05:40.09\00:05:42.99 Naturopathic doctors are good 00:05:43.02\00:05:44.37 working at natural things and looking at, 00:05:44.40\00:05:46.58 you know, different diets and foods and lifestyle things. 00:05:46.61\00:05:49.78 But I want people to think about 00:05:49.81\00:05:51.24 as when they think they were natural 00:05:51.27\00:05:52.83 in treatment for the heart God's way of treating the heart. 00:05:52.86\00:05:56.31 And God's way might include medical doctors. 00:05:56.34\00:05:59.12 God's way might into these other types of things 00:05:59.15\00:06:01.85 and when we sort of think about it 00:06:01.88\00:06:03.19 that way its holistic approach. 00:06:03.22\00:06:05.70 But I don't want people to think of naturals 00:06:05.73\00:06:07.89 just in herb or just this 00:06:07.92\00:06:09.98 its God's way of treating that's the natural way. 00:06:10.01\00:06:12.62 How we would design to be 00:06:12.65\00:06:14.95 that's the way to treat the heart. 00:06:14.98\00:06:16.01 And God has allowed technology 00:06:16.04\00:06:18.14 and there is a place for that. 00:06:18.17\00:06:19.29 If you're having a heart attack 00:06:19.32\00:06:20.68 that's a place for modern medicine. 00:06:20.71\00:06:22.52 If you, you know, if you have a super high blood pressure 00:06:22.55\00:06:25.18 and you can't get it down naturally 00:06:25.21\00:06:26.75 that's another place for medicine. 00:06:26.78\00:06:28.47 So it does have a place to use these things. 00:06:28.50\00:06:30.90 Pacemakers to defibrillators all that has a place 00:06:30.93\00:06:33.59 but I want everyone to know that often most of the time 00:06:33.62\00:06:36.60 it doesn't get at the cause. 00:06:36.63\00:06:38.69 Now, I had a gentlemen not too long ago Charles, 00:06:38.72\00:06:40.92 that came to me 00:06:40.95\00:06:42.08 and he had done everything right. 00:06:42.11\00:06:43.64 He is 55 years old. 00:06:43.67\00:06:45.11 He exercised everyday, he ate a really good diet, 00:06:45.14\00:06:48.64 no risk factors of diabetes hypertension, 00:06:48.67\00:06:51.18 and he was a little bit discouraged 00:06:51.21\00:06:52.55 because he had vascular disease that presented as a symptom. 00:06:52.58\00:06:56.60 And you know he says, man, I have done everything right. 00:06:56.63\00:06:59.11 You know, what's, what's wrong. 00:06:59.14\00:07:00.84 And I said, well, how old was your dad when he had it? 00:07:00.87\00:07:04.58 He said, well, my dad 42 and this gentleman is 57. 00:07:04.61\00:07:07.71 So he had another 15 years without the disease. 00:07:07.74\00:07:11.07 Some stress on our system 00:07:11.10\00:07:14.07 is passed down from our genetics. 00:07:14.10\00:07:16.32 And there is some diseases no matter 00:07:16.35\00:07:17.98 what we do some people just have bad genes. Yeah. 00:07:18.01\00:07:20.56 And that's one thing that people need to realize. 00:07:20.59\00:07:23.45 You know, the way things are. 00:07:23.48\00:07:24.63 That's a stress that's been passed down. 00:07:24.66\00:07:26.56 It's a result of sin I think. Yeah. 00:07:26.59\00:07:28.06 So this gentleman had some things done 00:07:28.09\00:07:30.39 because he had a symptom. 00:07:30.42\00:07:31.81 And I said well, you know, 00:07:31.84\00:07:32.87 you had a symptom you do have genetic disease. 00:07:32.90\00:07:35.13 What are something's we can do 00:07:35.16\00:07:36.56 to actually help your genetics 00:07:36.59\00:07:38.12 from being turned on? Yeah. 00:07:38.15\00:07:39.57 And there is this fascinating field now called epigenetics 00:07:39.60\00:07:42.83 that we're just learning about. 00:07:42.86\00:07:44.43 Certain genes can be turned on 00:07:44.46\00:07:46.25 by certain things we do. 00:07:46.28\00:07:48.17 We know certain foods can turn on genes, 00:07:48.20\00:07:50.64 we know certain carcinogens can turn on genes, 00:07:50.67\00:07:52.94 like cigarette smoking and toxins in environment. 00:07:52.97\00:07:56.15 But we're now also learning 00:07:56.18\00:07:57.54 the chemistry of the brain can turn on genes. 00:07:57.57\00:08:00.58 The stress chemistry of the brain can 00:08:00.61\00:08:02.53 up regulate or down regulate genes. 00:08:02.56\00:08:05.05 Nutrition, this is much more complicated 00:08:05.08\00:08:07.69 than anyone ever thought that what turns on genes. 00:08:07.72\00:08:10.30 So if we feel stress in our mind if we're worried, 00:08:10.33\00:08:15.27 if we're apprehensive, if we are angry, 00:08:15.30\00:08:17.77 if we feel guilt all of these things are switches 00:08:17.80\00:08:22.04 that can turn on the genes 00:08:22.07\00:08:23.62 that cause the problems. Yes. Yes. 00:08:23.65\00:08:24.76 Because remember, everything that happens in our body 00:08:24.79\00:08:28.86 is a result of some type of chemical reaction. Right. 00:08:28.89\00:08:31.99 Okay, and our body these feedback systems. 00:08:32.02\00:08:35.13 You know, like if you're worried about something 00:08:35.16\00:08:36.76 you're worried for a reason 00:08:36.79\00:08:37.82 there's real chemistry behind that worry. 00:08:37.85\00:08:40.44 And that chemistry of course, affects other things. 00:08:40.47\00:08:43.56 You know, if I go like that and scare you. 00:08:43.59\00:08:45.64 Guess what, there is chemistry behind that reaction. 00:08:45.67\00:08:49.03 Lot's of chemistry. 00:08:49.06\00:08:50.14 You jumped, you got scared, 00:08:50.17\00:08:51.68 you're fear center of the brain got turned on 00:08:51.71\00:08:53.66 your medulla you made lot of adrenaline. 00:08:53.69\00:08:56.24 And that adrenaline say, hey I'm backing off. 00:08:56.27\00:08:58.12 And I feel great. 00:08:58.15\00:08:59.18 Yeah, yeah and the adrenaline back off. 00:08:59.21\00:09:01.17 Your heart starts speeding up a little bit. 00:09:01.20\00:09:03.41 But can you imagine if that goes on 00:09:03.44\00:09:05.68 day and day out, year and year out. 00:09:05.71\00:09:07.81 You can't sleep at night, you can't rest at night, 00:09:07.84\00:09:09.99 you can't heal at night. 00:09:10.02\00:09:11.67 You might do things to help cope with that. 00:09:11.70\00:09:14.18 It's a cascaded events. 00:09:14.21\00:09:16.05 So natural ways to treat the heart 00:09:16.08\00:09:18.98 is more than just medicines. 00:09:19.01\00:09:21.42 It's more than modern medicine. 00:09:21.45\00:09:22.94 Its more than just food, the food is important. 00:09:22.97\00:09:25.29 It's also includes the exercise, the way we think, 00:09:25.32\00:09:28.81 basically the way we lived. 00:09:28.84\00:09:30.05 Our entire lifestyle is what affects 00:09:30.08\00:09:32.10 not only vascular disease but your entire health. 00:09:32.13\00:09:34.46 Because everything we do affects our genes, 00:09:34.49\00:09:37.06 its epigenetics can turn on these things. 00:09:37.09\00:09:39.45 Like my patient that had disease 17 years later 00:09:39.48\00:09:42.98 something eventually turned on those genes. Yeah. 00:09:43.01\00:09:45.16 Now when talking to him 00:09:45.19\00:09:46.65 he lived a very, very stressful life. 00:09:46.68\00:09:49.56 He lived under constant stress. 00:09:49.59\00:09:50.94 And remember the way we're originally designed, 00:09:50.97\00:09:53.78 we weren't designed to have lots of stress. Yes. 00:09:53.81\00:09:56.40 We were never designed with the internet 00:09:56.43\00:09:58.27 or these heavy workloads. 00:09:58.30\00:09:59.67 We were designed to rest, we were designed to be happy, 00:09:59.70\00:10:02.53 we were designed to play with the animals 00:10:02.56\00:10:04.17 and have all these good times 00:10:04.20\00:10:06.24 and somehow we shifted from that. 00:10:06.27\00:10:08.64 We were designed to worship a God that loved us. 00:10:08.67\00:10:11.69 And were designed to worship, 00:10:11.72\00:10:13.26 you know, I was, you know, listening 00:10:13.29\00:10:15.13 on the radio the other day. 00:10:15.16\00:10:16.56 I was turning the shows 00:10:16.59\00:10:17.62 and there is more shows about sports 00:10:17.65\00:10:19.32 than there were about spiritual things. Yes. 00:10:19.35\00:10:21.32 You know, it's crazy. 00:10:21.35\00:10:23.05 You know, there's more drug stores 00:10:23.08\00:10:24.40 than there are churches. 00:10:24.43\00:10:26.56 Our country and the world 00:10:26.59\00:10:28.40 is moving in the wrong direction. 00:10:28.43\00:10:30.37 We're deemphasizing God 00:10:30.40\00:10:32.48 and His plan the natural plan 00:10:32.51\00:10:35.13 and emphasizing the technology plan. 00:10:35.16\00:10:38.60 Now there is place for technology 00:10:38.63\00:10:40.69 but on my television set 00:10:40.72\00:10:42.02 I see more ads for drugs and procedures 00:10:42.05\00:10:45.29 than I do for anything else. 00:10:45.32\00:10:48.20 Even in health shows, I look out there and see 00:10:48.23\00:10:50.42 some of the other people that do what I do on television 00:10:50.45\00:10:53.57 and they're talking about more of the technology 00:10:53.60\00:10:56.27 and more of the gimmicks and gadgets 00:10:56.30\00:10:58.39 than they are on how we were designed with God's plan. 00:10:58.42\00:11:00.98 The natural way to deal with heart disease. 00:11:01.01\00:11:03.88 So I want to our listeners to think 00:11:03.91\00:11:05.63 when you say the natural way is God's way. God's way. 00:11:05.66\00:11:08.47 How would go if he was treating you, 00:11:08.50\00:11:10.84 how would he start in the treatment plan for you. 00:11:10.87\00:11:13.88 Not how a medical doctor would 00:11:13.91\00:11:15.52 but how would doctor 00:11:15.55\00:11:16.84 the ultimate physician start with you. 00:11:16.87\00:11:18.41 Where would he start? Would you start with a stent? 00:11:18.44\00:11:20.98 Well, he probably if you have an acute symptom 00:11:21.01\00:11:23.50 but more than that he'll say. 00:11:23.53\00:11:24.58 Well, listen, Charles, 00:11:24.61\00:11:25.67 what cause the problem in the first place. 00:11:25.70\00:11:27.93 Let's get back to the way I made you. 00:11:27.96\00:11:30.06 Come on to me and I will give you rest. 00:11:30.09\00:11:32.40 That's the fist thing that pop into my mind here 00:11:32.43\00:11:34.28 when you were just talking about that. 00:11:34.31\00:11:36.07 God's first thing He wants to do is say slowdown, 00:11:36.10\00:11:39.49 wait a minute and it's not that important. 00:11:39.52\00:11:41.70 Just take it easy I'm with you here. 00:11:41.73\00:11:44.51 You know when you scared me there and you really scared me. 00:11:44.54\00:11:47.78 I must say you really scared me. 00:11:47.81\00:11:48.85 I may be jumped. 00:11:48.88\00:11:50.37 I sort of took inventory 00:11:50.40\00:11:51.85 of what was happening in my body for the first, 00:11:51.88\00:11:54.91 you know, 60 seconds after that. 00:11:54.94\00:11:57.59 Heart rate goes up, you know, I felt warmer, 00:11:57.62\00:12:00.71 I knew that my blood pressure had gone up as well 00:12:00.74\00:12:02.80 because its-- heart was pumping faster. Yeah. 00:12:02.83\00:12:05.01 Now if I had come to a doctor 00:12:05.04\00:12:06.99 under those circumstances and say, 00:12:07.02\00:12:08.97 doctor I have high blood pressure. 00:12:09.00\00:12:11.88 My heart is going too fast, I can't really think clearly 00:12:11.91\00:12:16.52 because I'm so excited and everything. 00:12:16.55\00:12:18.37 And the doctor would have given me 00:12:18.40\00:12:19.95 all these lowering blood pressure medicines 00:12:19.98\00:12:22.31 and all of the stat and this is for my cholesterol and all that. 00:12:22.34\00:12:24.62 Now they started working on those problems. 00:12:24.65\00:12:26.81 The problem was that this man scared me. 00:12:26.84\00:12:29.00 That was the problem 00:12:29.03\00:12:30.40 and all of those medicines would only cause side effects 00:12:30.43\00:12:33.52 and not get to the problem at all. 00:12:33.55\00:12:34.83 So that was a fantastic illustration. 00:12:34.86\00:12:36.97 You need to find out what is scaring you. 00:12:37.00\00:12:39.02 What is bothering you in your life 00:12:39.05\00:12:41.20 that is causing all these symptoms? 00:12:41.23\00:12:43.44 If you can find that out 00:12:43.47\00:12:44.87 and you can mitigate those things 00:12:44.90\00:12:46.46 it's very possible that you can slowdown 00:12:46.49\00:12:48.46 and possibly get rid of the problem with your heart. 00:12:48.49\00:12:50.93 Am I on the right track? You're on the right track. 00:12:50.96\00:12:52.26 All right. 00:12:52.29\00:12:53.32 We'll take a short break and when we come back 00:12:53.35\00:12:54.89 we've questions that have been sent 00:12:54.92\00:12:56.22 into heartwiseministries.org for this program. 00:12:56.25\00:12:59.51 Questions we'll answer right here. 00:12:59.54\00:13:01.32 So everybody stay right where you are 00:13:01.35\00:13:03.09 we'll be right back. 00:13:03.12\00:13:04.25
