Diabetes has met its match. 00:00:01.86\00:00:05.11 That is such good news, Dr. Marcum, 00:00:05.14\00:00:06.82 I'm excited about that. 00:00:06.85\00:00:08.82 We have some questions here 00:00:08.85\00:00:10.22 from the heartwiseministries.org website. 00:00:10.25\00:00:11.86 And we'd like to share those with you. 00:00:11.89\00:00:13.47 And, Dr. Marcum, the first one is. 00:00:13.50\00:00:16.97 What is the difference between type 1 and type 2? 00:00:17.00\00:00:19.92 Make sure we understand what we are dealing with here. 00:00:19.95\00:00:22.03 Yeah. You know, we talked about-- 00:00:22.06\00:00:24.56 the majority of people have type 2 diabetes. 00:00:24.59\00:00:27.01 We used to call that adult-onset. 00:00:27.04\00:00:28.99 And we also couldn't we name it 00:00:29.02\00:00:30.41 after this program fat acquired diabetes. 00:00:30.44\00:00:32.39 That's right, exactly. Fat acquired diabetes. 00:00:32.42\00:00:34.42 And as Americans gain weight, we're gonna see more of it. 00:00:34.45\00:00:37.97 As our diets don't change we're gonna see more of it 00:00:38.00\00:00:39.97 and also the end organ damages. 00:00:40.00\00:00:41.55 So that's type 2. 00:00:41.58\00:00:42.95 Type 1 is where we have these cells 00:00:42.98\00:00:45.53 that make insulin that are destroyed. 00:00:45.56\00:00:47.62 Remember, in type 2 we still make lots of insulin. Yes, yes. 00:00:47.65\00:00:50.33 But type--you know, type 1, 00:00:50.36\00:00:52.18 we don't make the insulin 00:00:52.21\00:00:53.58 so that's a real difference between type 1. 00:00:53.61\00:00:55.06 And unfortunately, the types 1, 00:00:55.09\00:00:56.81 usually, have to take at least some insulin their entire life. 00:00:56.84\00:01:00.26 But, you know, those type of individuals can do well 00:01:00.29\00:01:03.88 with insulin pumps to control their blood sugars. 00:01:03.91\00:01:06.08 They learn how to eat well at an early age. 00:01:06.11\00:01:08.31 But it's really a devastating disease 00:01:08.34\00:01:10.37 to have type 1 diabetes as is type 2. 00:01:10.40\00:01:13.35 So that's the real difference between type 1 and type 2. 00:01:13.38\00:01:16.38 But, Charles, you know, 00:01:16.41\00:01:17.78 one of the things I want to do--go over. 00:01:17.81\00:01:19.18 This is very exciting and I wish, 00:01:19.21\00:01:21.05 I wish that we could make a commercial 00:01:21.08\00:01:23.45 and put it on any of the broadcast networks. 00:01:23.48\00:01:25.84 And the next time they have a commercial 00:01:25.87\00:01:27.82 for one of these diabetic pills or you know, glyburide 00:01:27.85\00:01:30.92 or one of these medicines that are out there, 00:01:30.95\00:01:33.02 whatsoever out there, we could step on and say, 00:01:33.05\00:01:35.00 "You know what? 00:01:35.03\00:01:36.40 You don't have to take these medicines. 00:01:36.43\00:01:37.80 You don't have to these side effects." 00:01:37.83\00:01:39.20 I like it. 00:01:39.23\00:01:40.60 "Here's a way you can change your chemistry. 00:01:40.63\00:01:42.00 This is the way we can get back 00:01:42.03\00:01:43.40 to the way God made us. 00:01:43.43\00:01:44.80 Here, here. 00:01:44.83\00:01:46.20 For more information dial this number. 00:01:46.23\00:01:47.60 And you know what? No side effects. 00:01:47.63\00:01:49.00 It's free." Won't that be cool? 00:01:49.03\00:01:50.40 You just made that. That's a great commercial. 00:01:50.43\00:01:51.80 Just play that on the air. 00:01:51.83\00:01:53.20 Yeah, great--great commercial. Very good. 00:01:53.23\00:01:54.60 Because no one wants the medicines. 00:01:54.63\00:01:56.00 They all have side effects. 00:01:56.03\00:01:57.40 Not only they cause side effects in the bottom, 00:01:57.43\00:01:58.80 too because they all cost money. 00:01:58.83\00:02:00.20 Yes, absolutely. The bottom dollar. 00:02:00.23\00:02:01.60 Let's talk about that. Yeah. 00:02:01.63\00:02:03.00 What are some of the risk 00:02:03.03\00:02:04.40 of taking medications for diabetes? 00:02:04.43\00:02:05.92 And if diabetes is on the rise in this country, 00:02:05.95\00:02:08.28 more and more people are taking it 00:02:08.31\00:02:10.44 and more and more people need to know 00:02:10.47\00:02:11.84 what you are about to say? Yeah. 00:02:11.87\00:02:13.24 Well, the real risk 00:02:13.27\00:02:14.64 is having a side effect on the medications. 00:02:14.67\00:02:16.56 And you know, diabetes medicines lower blood sugar. 00:02:16.59\00:02:19.33 That's what they do. 00:02:19.36\00:02:20.73 Insulin lowers blood sugar 00:02:20.76\00:02:22.13 and they work on different organ systems. 00:02:22.16\00:02:23.71 So let me give you a hypothetical. 00:02:23.74\00:02:25.60 Let's say, Charles, that-- 00:02:25.63\00:02:27.57 that you're on a medicine to lower blood sugar. 00:02:27.60\00:02:29.77 And let's say, you can't talk 00:02:29.80\00:02:32.18 or you're in a nursing home 00:02:32.21\00:02:33.58 or some place like that. 00:02:33.61\00:02:34.98 And let's say, you get sick with a disease. 00:02:35.01\00:02:36.60 You're not eating or drinking and you get dehydrated. 00:02:36.63\00:02:39.10 Your kidney function gets worse. 00:02:39.13\00:02:40.99 The liver function gets worse. Your metabolism changes. 00:02:41.02\00:02:44.42 And yet, someone keeps giving you that medicine. 00:02:44.45\00:02:46.94 You're not really eating or drinking, 00:02:46.97\00:02:48.80 and then no one's really keeping an eye on your blood sugar. 00:02:48.83\00:02:51.20 You gave them an example of this-- Yeah. 00:02:51.23\00:02:52.94 Your blood sugar goes down to 20 or 30 and you go into a coma. 00:02:52.97\00:02:56.33 You could actually die from this. Okay? 00:02:56.36\00:02:59.32 And so taking too much blood sugar, 00:02:59.35\00:03:01.34 we always see people having low blood sugar. 00:03:01.37\00:03:03.25 And the first responders, you know, 00:03:03.28\00:03:04.99 if there aren't any diabetic medicine at all, 00:03:05.02\00:03:07.14 the very first thing they want to do 00:03:07.17\00:03:08.54 is to check your blood sugar. Right. 00:03:08.57\00:03:09.94 Because when you have blood sugar nothing works well. 00:03:09.97\00:03:12.18 Your brain doesn't work well. 00:03:12.21\00:03:13.58 Your heart doesn't work well. 00:03:13.61\00:03:14.98 Blood sugar is very important 00:03:15.01\00:03:16.38 because it helps our body have energy. 00:03:16.41\00:03:18.15 So blood sugar is a key 00:03:18.18\00:03:19.55 and a lot of the neurologic symptoms happen. 00:03:19.58\00:03:21.29 You know, in a brain fog 00:03:21.32\00:03:22.73 when your blood sugar goes too low, 00:03:22.76\00:03:24.13 brain sugar when it goes too high. 00:03:24.16\00:03:25.91 I talked to people about the basics 00:03:25.94\00:03:27.73 of good health, you know. 00:03:27.76\00:03:29.13 Hydration, getting enough rest, 00:03:29.16\00:03:31.27 you know, when you come into the I.V., 00:03:31.30\00:03:32.82 I put oxygen on you, put an I.V. in you, 00:03:32.85\00:03:34.82 check your blood sugar. 00:03:34.85\00:03:36.22 If you don't have blood sugar, I'm gonna pump some in you. 00:03:36.25\00:03:37.89 Make sure you have blood in you too. 00:03:37.92\00:03:39.29 Check-- you know. 00:03:39.32\00:03:40.69 So we do a lot of these things that make common sense. 00:03:40.72\00:03:42.46 But if your blood--if you take a lot of these medications 00:03:42.49\00:03:44.75 and they are not monitored closely-- 00:03:44.78\00:03:46.25 I have some people that, you know, you write-- 00:03:46.28\00:03:48.48 you see them on these medications and you say, 00:03:48.51\00:03:50.28 "Well, listen you have type 2 diabetes and you're taking this. 00:03:50.31\00:03:52.74 Do you ever monitor your blood sugar?" 00:03:52.77\00:03:54.14 "No." So they might be taking it 00:03:54.17\00:03:57.35 and it still might not be accomplishing their goal. 00:03:57.38\00:03:59.38 They get no benefit. Yeah. 00:03:59.41\00:04:00.96 And yet, they take the risk. 00:04:00.99\00:04:02.72 And some of these medicines have other side effects. 00:04:02.75\00:04:04.69 Some of the diabetic medicines have been shown 00:04:04.72\00:04:06.85 to increase the risk of heart attacks. 00:04:06.88\00:04:08.69 And the Sulfonylureas have been showing that. 00:04:08.72\00:04:11.47 Some of them increased the risk of lactic acidosis 00:04:11.50\00:04:14.46 which is another thing that's not good. 00:04:14.49\00:04:16.27 But one thing that I see in a lot of patients 00:04:16.30\00:04:18.37 is they have type 2 diabetes. 00:04:18.40\00:04:20.72 And they go in and their doctor puts them on a medicine 00:04:20.75\00:04:23.01 to make their number better, okay? 00:04:23.04\00:04:25.58 But it makes them hungry. 00:04:25.61\00:04:27.05 They eat more and they gain more weight. 00:04:27.08\00:04:29.44 So it doesn't really solve the problem. 00:04:29.47\00:04:31.31 So they never get at the cause of the problem. 00:04:31.34\00:04:34.06 A lot of people if you say, 00:04:34.09\00:04:35.49 "Listen, do you want to cure this? 00:04:35.52\00:04:36.89 Or do you want to just, sort of, 00:04:36.92\00:04:38.29 keep the blood sugar at a level?" 00:04:38.32\00:04:39.69 If you put it that way, they say, 00:04:39.72\00:04:41.09 "Listen, I want to cure this." 00:04:41.12\00:04:42.49 And you say, "Well, here's the plan. 00:04:42.52\00:04:43.89 Do you want to do the plan? 00:04:43.92\00:04:45.29 We can take it slow, but do you want to do the plan?" 00:04:45.32\00:04:46.73 And I've read some literature. 00:04:46.76\00:04:48.92 I--I'm normally a cardiologist 00:04:48.95\00:04:50.65 so I don't treat a lot of diabetics. 00:04:50.68\00:04:52.12 But I've reviewed some of the material that doctor-- 00:04:52.15\00:04:55.34 Californian Dr. McDougall. Yeah, yeah. 00:04:55.37\00:04:57.87 And he's cured a lot of people 00:04:57.90\00:04:59.41 with changing chemistry this way. 00:04:59.44\00:05:01.41 And remember, this changes a chemistry 00:05:01.44\00:05:03.45 just like a medicine is except, 00:05:03.48\00:05:04.95 it's a little different mindset. Yeah. 00:05:04.98\00:05:07.36 So we're changing our chemistry by the food we eat. 00:05:07.39\00:05:10.05 We're changing our insides in the metabolism. 00:05:10.08\00:05:12.43 Then all of a sudden what we see when we get 00:05:12.46\00:05:14.09 the fat out of ourselves 00:05:14.12\00:05:15.49 then the glucose can move in it better. 00:05:15.52\00:05:17.29 We have the normal glucose metabolism. 00:05:17.32\00:05:19.00 The body, sort of, 00:05:19.03\00:05:20.40 gets back to the way it was designed and fixes itself. 00:05:20.43\00:05:22.76 So we don't have all these end organ damage. 00:05:22.79\00:05:24.98 Internal healing. Yeah. 00:05:25.01\00:05:26.47 With external changes are excellent. I like that. 00:05:26.50\00:05:28.66 So prolonged exposure, don't forget it. 00:05:28.69\00:05:30.80 Charles, when you leave here, I want you to remember, 00:05:30.83\00:05:32.43 prolonged exposure to fat 00:05:32.46\00:05:34.73 is the problem we have with diabetes. 00:05:34.76\00:05:36.64 All right, very good. 00:05:36.67\00:05:38.04 Here's another question from heartwiseministries.org. 00:05:38.07\00:05:41.10 This is important. 00:05:41.13\00:05:43.23 Let's say that someone is watching the program 00:05:43.26\00:05:45.39 right now and says, "I believe what Dr. Marcum is saying. 00:05:45.42\00:05:47.88 And I'm gonna switch over 00:05:47.91\00:05:49.28 to that whole food plant based diet 00:05:49.31\00:05:50.78 and I'm not gonna take my medications anymore. 00:05:50.81\00:05:52.46 Good advice? Bad advice? 00:05:52.49\00:05:53.86 Well, it's according, you know. It's according. 00:05:53.89\00:05:56.22 If you are-- if you are-- 00:05:56.25\00:05:57.62 you need to be monitored 00:05:57.65\00:05:59.02 whenever you go on and off the medication. 00:05:59.05\00:06:00.63 You need to be monitored. 00:06:00.66\00:06:02.13 And, you know, and unfortunately, 00:06:02.16\00:06:03.97 I've seen some physicians that you go to and you tell him 00:06:04.00\00:06:06.39 this and they might not be as educated as you are. 00:06:06.42\00:06:09.02 You know, I was trained this way. 00:06:09.05\00:06:10.54 They might not see it the same way. 00:06:10.57\00:06:12.07 So sometimes you have to bring them data, 00:06:12.10\00:06:13.87 say, "Listen, can I try this? 00:06:13.90\00:06:15.85 You know, can I check my blood sugar at home? 00:06:15.88\00:06:17.54 If it does really good, 00:06:17.57\00:06:18.94 can I skip it today and see if it does good?" 00:06:18.97\00:06:20.49 Remember, these changes take a while. 00:06:20.52\00:06:22.41 But it only makes sense if you can lower 00:06:22.44\00:06:24.79 your blood sugar with natural insulin 00:06:24.82\00:06:27.18 which you get from walking, 00:06:27.21\00:06:28.58 removing the fat from the body so that, you know, 00:06:28.61\00:06:30.85 that everything gets in the cells better. 00:06:30.88\00:06:32.82 It only makes sense that you could-- 00:06:32.85\00:06:34.22 you should be able to come off the medicines, nice and slow. 00:06:34.25\00:06:36.06 But I would do this with a doctor following you 00:06:36.09\00:06:38.35 that put you on those medicines. 00:06:38.38\00:06:40.48 But this is a great way to go. 00:06:40.51\00:06:42.07 But--and I've seen some medical professionals, 00:06:42.10\00:06:44.25 they don't want to hear this, you know. 00:06:44.28\00:06:45.84 That's what I wanted to ask you. 00:06:45.87\00:06:47.24 Oh, yeah. I see that all the time. 00:06:47.27\00:06:48.64 I don't want to hear this. 00:06:48.67\00:06:50.04 You have to stay on your medicine. 00:06:50.07\00:06:51.44 I wrote it. Yeah, yeah. 00:06:51.47\00:06:52.84 And I say, "It's time to find a new doctor." 00:06:52.87\00:06:54.24 Really? Yes. 00:06:54.27\00:06:55.64 Well, if they won't work with you to reverse this, 00:06:55.67\00:06:57.51 you know, and we want to take you off the medicine, 00:06:57.54\00:06:59.84 would you stay with that doctor? 00:06:59.87\00:07:02.53 This is scary. Yeah. 00:07:02.56\00:07:03.93 Because sometimes these doctors are friends of ours-- 00:07:03.96\00:07:06.32 And sometimes they just don't know everything. 00:07:06.35\00:07:09.66 Yeah. They don't know better. 00:07:09.69\00:07:11.06 And I was practicing that way at one time, Charles. 00:07:11.09\00:07:13.40 I was brought through the traditional medical system, 00:07:13.43\00:07:15.97 went to medical school at the University of Texas 00:07:16.00\00:07:18.63 and did cardiology at the University of Kentucky, 00:07:18.66\00:07:20.27 did internal medicine 00:07:20.30\00:07:21.67 at the medical center of Delaware. 00:07:21.70\00:07:23.07 And I was taught to treat symptoms. 00:07:23.10\00:07:24.47 I was taught about these medicines. 00:07:24.50\00:07:25.87 I wasn't taught a lot about nutrition. 00:07:25.90\00:07:27.92 I wasn't taught about the way the brain works. 00:07:27.95\00:07:30.16 I wasn't plugged into the ultimate prescription. 00:07:30.19\00:07:32.48 They didn't have this class in medical school, 00:07:32.51\00:07:34.82 in my medical school where it says, 00:07:34.85\00:07:36.59 "You know, the word of God 00:07:36.62\00:07:38.11 is the ultimate treatment that you need to do." 00:07:38.14\00:07:40.00 And that's what I'm trying to get in our vernacular. 00:07:40.03\00:07:42.75 And I'm letting-- let other doctors know 00:07:42.78\00:07:44.36 it's okay to practice this way. Yeah. 00:07:44.39\00:07:46.32 You know, you might take a few knocks 00:07:46.35\00:07:48.56 and I take knocks every day 00:07:48.59\00:07:49.96 when I take people off medicines. 00:07:49.99\00:07:51.44 But I try to counter that. 00:07:51.47\00:07:52.85 But, you know, we have science behind us 00:07:52.88\00:07:54.87 that proves you can change your chemistry this way. 00:07:54.90\00:07:56.91 Just do it for a while and let's test you. 00:07:56.94\00:07:59.26 Let's do this for a while and let's have evidence. 00:07:59.29\00:08:02.94 You know, let's check your blood sugar. 00:08:02.97\00:08:04.34 Let's see if you don't feel better in a month 00:08:04.37\00:08:05.95 after eating this way and living this way. 00:08:05.98\00:08:08.21 And, you know, that's what Daniel did back in Daniel. 00:08:08.24\00:08:11.08 Daniel goes, "Let me test you, king." Yeah. 00:08:11.11\00:08:13.65 "You know, let me see if this way is not the best way." 00:08:13.68\00:08:15.72 And he did. And guess what? 00:08:15.75\00:08:17.12 God's way was right. 00:08:17.15\00:08:18.52 And that's the way it's gonna be every single time. 00:08:18.55\00:08:20.55 So I say, "Well, let's not go into this blindly. 00:08:20.58\00:08:23.08 Let's prove it with science. 00:08:23.11\00:08:24.53 So that's what the way I approach with my doctor. 00:08:24.56\00:08:26.26 Let me show you that I can bring 00:08:26.29\00:08:27.95 my blood sugar down naturally. 00:08:27.98\00:08:31.57 You want us to be brave when we go see our doctor? 00:08:31.60\00:08:34.34 Well, you know, you are your best doctor, Charles. 00:08:34.37\00:08:36.48 Who's a better physician than you, than yourself? 00:08:36.51\00:08:38.19 But doctor's not gonna agree with that. 00:08:38.22\00:08:39.59 He's gonna say, "I went to school. 00:08:39.62\00:08:40.99 I learned these things. 00:08:41.02\00:08:42.39 You need to be on these medications. 00:08:42.42\00:08:43.79 How dare you come into my office and tell me?" 00:08:43.82\00:08:45.32 And I have heard doctors say those very words. 00:08:45.35\00:08:46.72 Yeah. But you know what? 00:08:46.75\00:08:48.12 I see myself as more of a treater of symptoms, 00:08:48.15\00:08:52.42 a treater of symptoms. 00:08:52.45\00:08:54.16 We are our best own physicians, you know. 00:08:54.19\00:08:56.99 Physician heal yourself, you know. 00:08:57.02\00:08:58.39 We heard this but, you know, 00:08:58.42\00:08:59.79 you're responsible for your own body, 00:08:59.82\00:09:01.35 to learn as much as you can, to take care of yourself, 00:09:01.38\00:09:04.25 to prevent these kind of diseases. 00:09:04.28\00:09:05.65 You are a steward. You are given this body. 00:09:05.68\00:09:07.83 This is a loaner, Charles. Yes. 00:09:07.86\00:09:10.51 You know, you're supposed to know all these stuff. 00:09:10.54\00:09:13.82 We're stewards of our body. We're responsible for ourself. 00:09:13.85\00:09:16.38 Your doctor is not responsible for you. 00:09:16.41\00:09:18.20 He's not gonna be the one that ultimately stands 00:09:18.23\00:09:20.39 and says, "This is what I did with my body." 00:09:20.42\00:09:22.43 You are. You're responsible for learning. 00:09:22.46\00:09:24.47 You're responsible for finding the healthcare professionals 00:09:24.50\00:09:26.94 that follow your philosophy. 00:09:26.97\00:09:29.08 Now there might not be many out there, 00:09:29.11\00:09:30.53 but most of them are willing to work with you if you explain, 00:09:30.56\00:09:33.66 if you give them some scientific evidence behind it. 00:09:33.69\00:09:35.96 Most doctors want to take you off medications 00:09:35.99\00:09:38.40 if you're willing to step up and say, 00:09:38.43\00:09:39.84 "Listen, I want to exercise every day. 00:09:39.87\00:09:41.58 I'm willing to eat better. 00:09:41.61\00:09:42.98 I'm willing to do something to reverse type 2 diabetes. 00:09:43.01\00:09:45.41 Now are you willing to take me off of medication?" 00:09:45.44\00:09:47.50 And if they see results, you're losing weight, 00:09:47.53\00:09:49.85 I don't know any doctor that won't, 00:09:49.88\00:09:51.33 at least, work with you. 00:09:51.36\00:09:52.73 All right, very good advice. 00:09:52.76\00:09:54.13 You know, that goes right along 00:09:54.16\00:09:55.53 with something you and I've talked about 00:09:55.56\00:09:56.93 in another program especially on your radio program. 00:09:56.96\00:09:59.75 That is, when you watch programs like this, 00:09:59.78\00:10:04.14 when you go on the internet, 00:10:04.17\00:10:05.54 when you read the scientific literature coming out, 00:10:05.57\00:10:07.97 when you read the newspaper and the magazines, 00:10:08.00\00:10:10.04 the latest and greatest comes out and it says, 00:10:10.07\00:10:13.08 "This is the answer for the problem 00:10:13.11\00:10:14.59 that you're suffering. 00:10:14.62\00:10:15.99 This is the answer over here. 00:10:16.02\00:10:17.39 Do this, eat this, take this." How do we judge? 00:10:17.42\00:10:21.15 A person with diabetes, 00:10:21.18\00:10:22.55 how does a person judge what to do? 00:10:22.58\00:10:26.13 What will work and what won't work? 00:10:26.16\00:10:28.08 How do you judge when you are receiving this information 00:10:28.11\00:10:31.62 from the pharmaceutical companies, 00:10:31.65\00:10:33.39 when you are receiving this information 00:10:33.42\00:10:34.79 from different entities around? 00:10:34.82\00:10:36.94 How do you make a determination 00:10:36.97\00:10:39.11 of what you want to put in your body 00:10:39.14\00:10:41.38 and what medicines you want to use? 00:10:41.41\00:10:43.00 Yeah. I go back and I use the textbook. 00:10:43.03\00:10:45.46 Does it work with the Bible? 00:10:45.49\00:10:46.86 Does it make biblical sense? 00:10:46.89\00:10:48.31 Does it jibe with what the Bible teaches? 00:10:48.34\00:10:50.35 And if someone says, "You know, you have to have a treatment 00:10:50.38\00:10:52.42 where you stay up all night, 00:10:52.45\00:10:53.82 that doesn't jibe with the biblical treatment, does it? 00:10:53.85\00:10:55.84 If it's-- You know what the Bible say 00:10:55.87\00:10:57.80 they culminate it. No. No. No. 00:10:57.83\00:10:59.26 But it's gonna say in the Bible, "Drink water." 00:10:59.29\00:11:00.72 Right, exactly. Both thin your blood. 00:11:00.75\00:11:02.65 And then some of these conditions 00:11:02.68\00:11:04.05 you have to look at the body of evidence, 00:11:04.08\00:11:05.45 randomized trials, okay? 00:11:05.48\00:11:07.41 And, you know, but we have to also realize that 00:11:07.44\00:11:09.36 medicines usually just treat symptoms. 00:11:09.39\00:11:11.38 They don't fix causes. True. 00:11:11.41\00:11:12.85 And for acute care, I think medicines are great. 00:11:12.88\00:11:15.56 For chronic care, it's not. 00:11:15.59\00:11:16.96 So it's a growing, learning process. 00:11:16.99\00:11:19.37 It's continuing growing. 00:11:19.40\00:11:20.77 And I don't say that I have all the answers. 00:11:20.80\00:11:22.33 I admit, I don't know everything. 00:11:22.36\00:11:24.10 I'm constantly in a state of learning, 00:11:24.13\00:11:26.13 try to keep a balanced approach but I also have learned in time 00:11:26.16\00:11:29.51 that the mind is involved in all of this. 00:11:29.54\00:11:31.69 And if you're happy about it 00:11:31.72\00:11:33.23 and you have God working in your life 00:11:33.26\00:11:34.96 through the Holy Spirit, 00:11:34.99\00:11:36.36 you know, even if you don't do everything perfect 00:11:36.39\00:11:38.25 or learn everything or-- 00:11:38.28\00:11:39.65 you're gonna be heading in the right direction. 00:11:39.68\00:11:41.50 And that's why this ultimate prescription, 00:11:41.53\00:11:43.16 this relationship is so important. 00:11:43.19\00:11:44.56 'Cause, I know, 00:11:44.59\00:11:45.96 I can't do everything right, you know. 00:11:45.99\00:11:47.38 There's always gonna be something that's-- 00:11:47.41\00:11:48.78 there is probably gonna hurt me 00:11:48.81\00:11:50.18 that I might not even know about. 00:11:50.21\00:11:51.58 But I'm always in that relationship, 00:11:51.61\00:11:53.22 trying to learn, 00:11:53.25\00:11:54.62 willing to let God work with me in anyway He might choose to. 00:11:54.65\00:11:58.26 You know, I never thought years ago, Charles, 00:11:58.29\00:12:02.12 you know, when I was practicing medicine 00:12:02.15\00:12:04.14 that I would ever do health programs, you know. 00:12:04.17\00:12:06.15 I'm not an orator. 00:12:06.18\00:12:07.55 I never thought I'd write a book or do these kind of things. 00:12:07.58\00:12:10.00 But as God impresses you and works with you 00:12:10.03\00:12:12.58 He gives you the power to do things you can't do. 00:12:12.61\00:12:15.20 Well, that same principle applies to your health. 00:12:15.23\00:12:17.25 You're not thinking you can do these things but you can. 00:12:17.28\00:12:19.65 God can let do anything He wants with you. 00:12:19.68\00:12:22.09 As you learn about Him and walk in His will 00:12:22.12\00:12:24.66 the potential is unlimited. 00:12:24.69\00:12:26.85 And as the world continues to get sicker, 00:12:26.88\00:12:29.16 He's gonna call more and more people to be messengers 00:12:29.19\00:12:31.89 of all the good things He wants us to do for us. 00:12:31.92\00:12:35.60 That is good news. That is wonderful news. 00:12:35.63\00:12:38.82 Yeah. Good news. 00:12:38.85\00:12:40.23 We'll take a short break and when we come back 00:12:40.26\00:12:41.69 let's talk to that great Physician up there. 00:12:41.72\00:12:44.87 And let's thank Him for the blessings 00:12:44.90\00:12:46.67 He has in store for everyone 00:12:46.70\00:12:48.07 who's watching this program today. 00:12:48.10\00:12:49.49 So stay tuned. 00:12:49.52\00:12:51.12 Let's make an appointment and talk to the great Physician. 00:12:53.23\00:12:56.24 Let's bow our heads together. 00:12:56.27\00:12:57.70 Father God, thank you for being interested in our healthcare 00:12:57.73\00:13:01.25 and being our great Physician to lead us to all truth. 00:13:01.28\00:13:03.60 And thank you for healing us this day, Father. 00:13:03.63\00:13:05.90 We pray for Your love and peace in our lives. 00:13:05.93\00:13:08.36 And thank you for helping us to reverse 00:13:08.39\00:13:09.94 type 2 diabetes is our prayer. Amen. 00:13:09.97\00:13:13.07
