Welcome back to the program. 00:00:01.40\00:00:02.77 We're talking about cancer, today with Dr. James Marcum. 00:00:02.80\00:00:04.68 I am Charles Mills. 00:00:04.71\00:00:06.08 Dr. Marcum, there are a lot of questions on this topic 00:00:06.11\00:00:09.11 on the website, heartwiseminstries.org. 00:00:09.14\00:00:11.49 And by the way, listener, if you would like 00:00:11.52\00:00:13.11 to put your question on the website you may do so. 00:00:13.14\00:00:16.89 Just go on to heartwiseministries.org 00:00:16.92\00:00:19.75 and there's a place so you can leave your question 00:00:19.78\00:00:21.98 and we'll address them on a future program. 00:00:22.01\00:00:23.83 We'd appreciate it if you do that 00:00:23.86\00:00:25.25 because education is one of the-- 00:00:25.28\00:00:27.24 Yeah. Best tools you can get. 00:00:27.27\00:00:29.88 To find prevention in your life for these dreaded diseases. 00:00:29.91\00:00:33.20 You know, prevention, Charles, before you get to our question. 00:00:33.23\00:00:35.82 Yeah. Just brought a thought to my mind. 00:00:35.85\00:00:38.08 You know, we say that cancer runs in families, 00:00:38.11\00:00:40.72 you know, that's why we always do our family history. 00:00:40.75\00:00:42.79 But if we think about it also, habits. 00:00:42.82\00:00:45.79 And these, you know, these prolonged exposures 00:00:45.82\00:00:48.36 run in families too. Yeah. 00:00:48.39\00:00:49.98 So is it really a genetic problem 00:00:50.01\00:00:52.14 or a prolonged exposure problem? 00:00:52.17\00:00:53.99 Like, cigarettes, secondhand smoke. 00:00:54.02\00:00:55.76 Like that-- You know, eating a-- 00:00:55.79\00:00:57.57 of carnivore type diet. Yeah. 00:00:57.60\00:00:59.75 Prolonged exposure to estrogen. 00:00:59.78\00:01:01.23 Is it--you know, I know, genetics play a role 00:01:01.26\00:01:03.70 but also family history and the things 00:01:03.73\00:01:06.19 that families do together, the prolonged exposures, 00:01:06.22\00:01:08.50 even as a child. Yes. 00:01:08.53\00:01:10.24 And we talked about that in the last segment 00:01:10.27\00:01:12.28 about the brain prolonged exposure-- 00:01:12.31\00:01:13.89 to brain thinks that you know we won't desire to say. 00:01:13.92\00:01:16.45 We're one and while we have all these problems but, 00:01:16.48\00:01:18.55 you know, prolonged exposure is going against 00:01:18.58\00:01:21.24 the way we were designed. It is very important. 00:01:21.27\00:01:23.48 That's why, while we got here-- 00:01:23.51\00:01:25.17 you know, I wrote this book with you recently 00:01:25.20\00:01:27.34 called the "Ultimate Prescription." 00:01:27.37\00:01:28.94 And if anyone wants to know more about some of the things 00:01:28.97\00:01:31.46 we're going to talking about, 00:01:31.49\00:01:32.86 "How to get in this relationship?" 00:01:32.89\00:01:34.26 This book can be obtained at any bookstore in America 00:01:34.29\00:01:37.19 or online at amazon.com. 00:01:37.22\00:01:39.89 We use this book to support this type of ministry. 00:01:39.92\00:01:42.42 It never goes into our pockets but it gives us more information 00:01:42.45\00:01:45.85 if we don't give enough on our television or radio programs. 00:01:45.88\00:01:48.49 All right, very good. "Ultimate Prescription." 00:01:48.52\00:01:50.24 Yeah. Let's go to the question. Question, all right. 00:01:50.27\00:01:52.22 This first question is very insightful I think. Yeah. 00:01:52.25\00:01:55.08 "What are the dangers of cancer untreated? 00:01:55.11\00:01:59.06 And what are the dangers of cancer treated 00:01:59.09\00:02:01.72 with modern medicine?" Oh, dear. 00:02:01.75\00:02:03.37 Okay, let's start with cancer untreated. 00:02:03.40\00:02:05.82 Yes. Okay? 00:02:05.85\00:02:07.42 We talked earlier, if cancer is treated early on 00:02:07.45\00:02:10.80 it's got almost a 100% cure rate, 00:02:10.83\00:02:12.97 almost all the types of cancer. 00:02:13.00\00:02:14.37 Whether be a malignant melanoma or colon cancer early on, 00:02:14.40\00:02:17.94 a breast malignancy early on. 00:02:17.97\00:02:19.82 So, stage 1, cancer or cancer found early on untreated-- 00:02:19.85\00:02:24.61 if it's untreated the cancer's gonna grow. 00:02:24.64\00:02:27.72 Okay? The cells are gonna continue to divide. 00:02:27.75\00:02:29.99 It's eventually gonna get in the limbs system 00:02:30.02\00:02:31.86 and it's gonna spread throughout the body. 00:02:31.89\00:02:33.35 So cancer untreated is not a good thing. 00:02:33.38\00:02:35.90 Now, some cancers move faster than other cancers. 00:02:35.93\00:02:39.35 And sometimes a person might have cancer 00:02:39.38\00:02:41.15 but other medical problems or advanced age, 00:02:41.18\00:02:43.88 and those other medical problems might be a more problem 00:02:43.91\00:02:46.12 than the specific cancer types. Yeah. 00:02:46.15\00:02:47.95 But some cancer types are very aggressive, you know? 00:02:47.98\00:02:50.99 Especially things like pancreatic cancer, melanoma, 00:02:51.02\00:02:54.33 those are very aggressive cancers. 00:02:54.36\00:02:56.84 And those, if detected on you know to treatment 00:02:56.87\00:02:59.69 for that is gonna be excision and see if it's spread anywhere. 00:02:59.72\00:03:03.41 So, the treatment for that cancer-- 00:03:03.44\00:03:04.81 I think if untreated it's devastating. 00:03:04.84\00:03:07.20 Now, a harder issue-- and I am not an oncologist, 00:03:07.23\00:03:11.07 but a harder issue is what to do 00:03:11.10\00:03:13.25 if you've got aggressive cancer that spread outside-- 00:03:13.28\00:03:17.28 that's spread outside an organic system. 00:03:17.31\00:03:19.59 What if you have it to the bones 00:03:19.62\00:03:21.13 and to the brain and in the lymph nodes? 00:03:21.16\00:03:23.66 Well, I talked to an oncologist, not too long ago, 00:03:23.69\00:03:25.75 and they see things a little bit different 00:03:25.78\00:03:27.67 than other people. And, Charles, 00:03:27.70\00:03:29.55 they look at things as-- if I can give someone 6 months 00:03:29.58\00:03:33.06 of survival, you know, that's the way they see things. 00:03:33.09\00:03:37.48 They don't see it as curing. 00:03:37.51\00:03:39.60 They see it as may be prolonging 00:03:39.63\00:03:41.28 the time that you have here on earth. 00:03:41.31\00:03:43.44 But you've to weigh that against the toxicities 00:03:43.47\00:03:46.75 of these advanced chemotherapy and radiation. 00:03:46.78\00:03:49.96 And some people can tolerate chemo very well. 00:03:49.99\00:03:52.64 Some make them very, very sick. 00:03:52.67\00:03:55.17 And of course, in any type of cancer, 00:03:55.20\00:03:57.03 we wanna do the things we've talked about. 00:03:57.06\00:03:58.69 You know, get rid of the prolonged exposures 00:03:58.72\00:04:00.41 which could be making things worse. 00:04:00.44\00:04:02.19 So every treatment for cancer I think involves 00:04:02.22\00:04:04.70 getting on a healthy diet, healthy thoughts, 00:04:04.73\00:04:07.99 um, getting a relationship with the creator, 00:04:08.02\00:04:09.77 they can ultimately heal us. That's very important. 00:04:09.80\00:04:12.43 But, you know, you might have to have an honest discussion 00:04:12.46\00:04:14.88 about whether the toxicities of the chemotherapy are worth it 00:04:14.91\00:04:18.77 based on quality of life issues. Yes, exactly. 00:04:18.80\00:04:21.62 And like saying, if it's advanced, if it's advanced-- 00:04:21.65\00:04:24.10 you know, sometimes, you know it's not worth it. 00:04:24.13\00:04:25.98 Sometimes you say, "listen, I just want to go out, you know, 00:04:26.01\00:04:28.99 and have as good a quality-- I'd rather have 2 months 00:04:29.02\00:04:32.27 living with cancer than 5 months of bad cancer. Yeah. 00:04:32.30\00:04:35.62 But the oncologists think of it about 00:04:35.65\00:04:37.02 a little bit different than we do. 00:04:37.05\00:04:38.42 Now there's some advanced cancers-- 00:04:38.45\00:04:39.83 they can say, yes, it's spread and we think 00:04:39.86\00:04:41.37 you have this chance of curing it. 00:04:41.40\00:04:43.49 That really underlines the fact 00:04:43.52\00:04:44.98 that we need to look at prevention. Yeah. 00:04:45.01\00:04:47.26 Prevention needs to be our focus. 00:04:47.29\00:04:49.46 We don't wanna have to go through 00:04:49.49\00:04:51.15 what you just said where we decide 00:04:51.18\00:04:52.90 between 2 months of good life 00:04:52.93\00:04:54.96 or 6 months of bad life with cancer. 00:04:54.99\00:04:57.30 We wanna keep it from happening. 00:04:57.33\00:04:58.70 You know, Charles, I gonna interrupt you here. Yes. 00:04:58.73\00:05:00.64 In each individual and their circumstances is so different. 00:05:00.67\00:05:04.36 Yes. And we have a tendency 00:05:04.39\00:05:06.21 in medicine to put everyone in the same box. 00:05:06.24\00:05:08.97 You have this so this is what you get. 00:05:09.00\00:05:10.78 Here is the script. 00:05:10.81\00:05:12.48 I heard a story, not too long ago, 00:05:12.51\00:05:14.23 but someone was diagnosed with advance cancer. 00:05:14.26\00:05:16.29 And they said, you've advanced cancer 00:05:16.32\00:05:17.83 and you've 6 months to live. And that was it. 00:05:17.86\00:05:20.14 That was all that was offered. 00:05:20.17\00:05:21.96 Well, that's not good and every one has 00:05:21.99\00:05:23.97 a different way to reach them 00:05:24.00\00:05:25.57 and you never say there's no hope. 00:05:25.60\00:05:27.57 You know as long as we have the spiritual side, 00:05:27.60\00:05:30.01 there's always hope. Oh, Amen. 00:05:30.04\00:05:31.41 There's always something to look forward to. 00:05:31.44\00:05:33.20 There's always something-- you know, 00:05:33.23\00:05:34.60 my body might die but if I have eternal life 00:05:34.63\00:05:38.34 that's more important. That's why in treating people, 00:05:38.37\00:05:42.27 you know, modern medicine 00:05:42.30\00:05:43.67 it does some things good for you. 00:05:43.70\00:05:45.19 Lifestyle does some stuff good but that relationship-- 00:05:45.22\00:05:47.80 I would rather have that relationship 00:05:47.83\00:05:49.37 with God in thirty years of life and no relationship 00:05:49.40\00:05:52.81 in eighty years of life, human life. 00:05:52.84\00:05:55.66 And that's something that we need to add back 00:05:55.69\00:05:57.67 into the treatment plan of every patient, 00:05:57.70\00:05:59.78 no matter where we're at. 00:05:59.81\00:06:01.18 Every person needs to have this type of treatment 00:06:01.21\00:06:03.35 and we thought, think about these things. 00:06:03.38\00:06:04.86 We talked about prolonged exposure 00:06:04.89\00:06:07.32 but I want prolonged exposure in that relationship. 00:06:07.35\00:06:10.98 Prolonged exposure in that relationship brings me 00:06:11.01\00:06:13.49 back to the way I was originally designed. 00:06:13.52\00:06:15.59 Remember, back at creation-- we talked about that earlier. 00:06:15.62\00:06:18.42 We were designed to be with our Creator. 00:06:18.45\00:06:20.95 We were designed to communicate with Him. 00:06:20.98\00:06:22.98 We were designed to have prolonged exposure to Him. 00:06:23.01\00:06:25.98 And as we don't--as we do this, create in me a new mind. 00:06:26.01\00:06:29.68 Change my mind. Change my heart. 00:06:29.71\00:06:32.55 I want a prolonged exposure to good things as well, 00:06:32.58\00:06:35.92 prolonged exposure to good foods, to good thoughts. 00:06:35.95\00:06:38.62 I want prolonged exposure to my Creator. 00:06:38.65\00:06:40.79 I want to spend every time that I have with Him, 00:06:40.82\00:06:43.55 doing things with Him. Especially if have cancer, 00:06:43.58\00:06:46.27 I want to really plug into that relationship 00:06:46.30\00:06:48.48 that will give me peace, 00:06:48.51\00:06:49.88 that will give me ultimate healing. 00:06:49.91\00:06:51.60 Prolonged exposure of a good thing is also good. 00:06:51.63\00:06:54.19 And it's healing too. A healing-- 00:06:54.22\00:06:55.72 a prominently healing relationship. 00:06:55.75\00:06:57.56 Very, very good. 00:06:57.59\00:06:58.96 So did we answer that question, Charles? 00:06:58.99\00:07:00.36 Yes we did. And here's another one right here. 00:07:00.39\00:07:02.05 Oh, actually just answer that-- 00:07:02.08\00:07:03.45 how can I lower my risk of developing cancer? 00:07:03.48\00:07:06.01 Its sounds like that you're recommending 00:07:06.04\00:07:07.99 prolonged exposure to good things. 00:07:08.02\00:07:09.74 Yeah, well, let's go over that once more 00:07:09.77\00:07:11.20 'cause that's never hurts to go over. 00:07:11.23\00:07:13.01 To lower the risk of cancer, for instance, 00:07:13.04\00:07:14.90 if it's colon cancer, we're gonna try to get you 00:07:14.93\00:07:17.19 a plant based diet. Yeah. 00:07:17.22\00:07:18.59 If you're a lung cancer 00:07:18.62\00:07:19.99 or any other type, try not to smoke. 00:07:20.02\00:07:22.07 If it's estrogenic, you're gonna try to keep 00:07:22.10\00:07:24.47 your bodyweight, exercise, and things like that, 00:07:24.50\00:07:27.24 that make you low estrogen levels. 00:07:27.27\00:07:29.05 And of course, eat a good diet which is low in protein 00:07:29.08\00:07:32.10 which is again converted to estrogen. 00:07:32.13\00:07:34.00 So all these things we've talked 00:07:34.03\00:07:35.52 about for all these other chronic diseases-- 00:07:35.55\00:07:38.25 Yes It all fits in. 00:07:38.28\00:07:39.65 you know, the chronic treatment for most of these diseases 00:07:39.68\00:07:42.11 is getting back to the way God designed us. 00:07:42.14\00:07:44.45 To move away from these prolonged exposures 00:07:44.48\00:07:46.58 to these deadly things that we've been going to us 00:07:46.61\00:07:48.63 and if--as we think about this, things start to make sense. 00:07:48.66\00:07:51.79 Now, Charles, I have lot of people write in. 00:07:51.82\00:07:53.97 They're scared to death of modern medicine. 00:07:54.00\00:07:56.04 They don't want to use it at any cost. 00:07:56.07\00:07:58.36 But if I can get them to understand, you know, 00:07:58.39\00:08:00.31 it's just a short term and sometimes 00:08:00.34\00:08:02.34 it can help you have more time to get at the chronic causes-- 00:08:02.37\00:08:05.43 that's the way I would think about modern medicine. 00:08:05.46\00:08:07.62 It is a play-- there is a place for it. 00:08:07.65\00:08:09.30 But there are not hearing this. 00:08:09.33\00:08:10.70 No. They're not hearing this. 00:08:10.73\00:08:12.10 No, and I had someone that wrote in not too long 00:08:12.13\00:08:13.70 from Australia that were scared to death about 00:08:13.73\00:08:15.84 taking an antibiotic, that could possibly cure 00:08:15.87\00:08:18.21 an infection to save her life. 00:08:18.24\00:08:20.04 Now someone said, well, you know, they say, 00:08:20.07\00:08:22.16 "well, you made a statement 00:08:22.19\00:08:23.56 that medicines don't cure problems." 00:08:23.59\00:08:25.33 Well, an antibiotic doesn't cure problems. 00:08:25.36\00:08:28.46 You know, 'cause if your immune system 00:08:28.49\00:08:29.86 doesn't work your antibiotics still not going to help. 00:08:29.89\00:08:31.98 But it can help your body overcome 00:08:32.01\00:08:34.22 a short term bad situation. Yes. 00:08:34.25\00:08:36.33 We talked about that with stent. 00:08:36.36\00:08:37.88 We talked about that at excising a cancer. 00:08:37.91\00:08:40.57 We talked about that with antibiotics. 00:08:40.60\00:08:42.31 Well, Charles, if you started 00:08:42.34\00:08:43.71 spontaneously bleeding here, we want to stop the bleeding. 00:08:43.74\00:08:46.58 Absolutely. So we can figure out 00:08:46.61\00:08:47.98 why it happened. 00:08:48.01\00:08:49.38 So I want our listeners to understand 00:08:49.41\00:08:50.78 there's a place for modern medicine. 00:08:50.81\00:08:52.22 Likewise, there's a place for lifestyle medicine. 00:08:52.25\00:08:55.31 But some people are so focused on lifestyle medicine, 00:08:55.34\00:08:59.22 you know, they take their brain and all of the effort, 00:08:59.25\00:09:01.21 "if I don't do this and--," they live in fear 00:09:01.24\00:09:03.17 and this fear chemistry changes the brain, 00:09:03.20\00:09:05.78 that prolonged exposure-- "I can't do this, 00:09:05.81\00:09:07.69 I can't do that," the stress of all this. 00:09:07.72\00:09:09.52 It has a chemical consequence too. 00:09:09.55\00:09:11.64 So it's really a balance based on relationship with God, 00:09:11.67\00:09:15.40 relationship with modern medicine, 00:09:15.43\00:09:17.19 relationship with lifestyle medicine 00:09:17.22\00:09:18.74 that healthy balance based on moderation. 00:09:18.77\00:09:21.07 And that is the key. 00:09:21.10\00:09:22.75 And I see too many people swinging back and forth. 00:09:22.78\00:09:25.52 "All I can have is this. Or all I can have is that." 00:09:25.55\00:09:27.48 But it truly is a balance. We need to be-- 00:09:27.51\00:09:29.74 we need to find joy in doing the right things. 00:09:29.77\00:09:32.53 Yes. We need to find joy in eating the right foods. 00:09:32.56\00:09:35.65 And putting the right things is our minds. 00:09:35.68\00:09:38.26 Those should be joyful things. And you're absolutely right. 00:09:38.29\00:09:40.43 A lot of people feeling so guilty, 00:09:40.46\00:09:42.82 "Am I doing enough? 00:09:42.85\00:09:44.22 Am I doing it right? Am I missing something? 00:09:44.25\00:09:46.62 Is this food really better than that food?" 00:09:46.65\00:09:49.14 And they're comparing literally apples and oranges. 00:09:49.17\00:09:51.95 And they haven't gotten to the place 00:09:51.98\00:09:53.99 where there is joy in doing the right things. 00:09:54.02\00:09:56.94 Right and we all know that when people are happy 00:09:56.97\00:09:59.00 you make endorphins. Yes. 00:09:59.03\00:10:00.49 Your immune system gets stronger. 00:10:00.52\00:10:02.14 A merry heart. Everything gets good. 00:10:02.17\00:10:03.65 There's a good lightness. It helps the brain out. 00:10:03.68\00:10:05.72 Helps so many good things when we're happy. 00:10:05.75\00:10:07.60 We need to be happy. 00:10:07.63\00:10:09.07 We need to plug in the source of joy. 00:10:09.10\00:10:11.21 And, you know, I can just hear God having a big belly laugh 00:10:11.24\00:10:13.98 when we do something funny. We need to laugh. 00:10:14.01\00:10:16.11 We need to have joy in life. We don't need to live in fear. 00:10:16.14\00:10:18.96 All right. Very good. 00:10:18.99\00:10:20.66 Our next question here and you touched on this, 00:10:20.69\00:10:22.95 "is genetic testing for cancer genes a good thing to do?" 00:10:22.98\00:10:26.00 Now, again, talk to us about genetics here. 00:10:26.03\00:10:29.00 That's a great questions the human genome, 00:10:29.03\00:10:31.79 all of our DNA, has now been sequenced. Yes. 00:10:31.82\00:10:34.38 We know that certain pattern in our DNA-- 00:10:34.41\00:10:37.24 now the DNA is the template that makes proteins. 00:10:37.27\00:10:40.13 Proteins regulate our body. 00:10:40.16\00:10:41.98 We know that when this is damaged 00:10:42.01\00:10:43.47 we have the things called Mutations 00:10:43.50\00:10:45.02 and bad things start to happen 00:10:45.05\00:10:46.42 when mutations happen, may be a certain cell grows 00:10:46.45\00:10:48.79 or certain proteins made. 00:10:48.82\00:10:50.57 Well, we now can identify people that are at risk. 00:10:50.60\00:10:54.62 Well, let me just throw this out there, 00:10:54.65\00:10:56.02 as far as that question goes. 00:10:56.05\00:10:57.42 There is a condition called Huntington's chorea 00:10:57.45\00:10:59.57 which is a movement disorder that usually, you know, 00:10:59.60\00:11:02.67 happens later in life. There's genetic testing. 00:11:02.70\00:11:05.04 It's passed down about half and half. 00:11:05.07\00:11:07.48 Fifty percent people get it that have 00:11:07.51\00:11:09.35 the gene in their family. 00:11:09.38\00:11:11.94 This gene is passed on from generation to generations. 00:11:11.97\00:11:15.47 There is a lady that I heard about they said, 00:11:15.50\00:11:17.95 "listen, I want to be tested for Huntington's, 00:11:17.98\00:11:20.02 to see if I am gonna get it. 00:11:20.05\00:11:21.42 I am gonna make plans in my life about 00:11:21.45\00:11:23.00 whether I should get married or whether I should do this." 00:11:23.03\00:11:26.04 Well, she ended up having this done. 00:11:26.07\00:11:28.57 She had the gene done 00:11:28.60\00:11:30.22 and she was going to get Huntington's chorea. 00:11:30.25\00:11:32.17 And she knew she'd get it in the thirties. 00:11:32.20\00:11:33.57 So she all of a sudden knew that 00:11:33.60\00:11:35.23 she was going to be doomed to this lifestyle. 00:11:35.26\00:11:37.86 When her work found out about it, 00:11:37.89\00:11:39.34 of course, she was let go immediately. 00:11:39.37\00:11:41.71 There are consequences when you found out about this. 00:11:41.74\00:11:45.14 Likewise, I heard about-- 00:11:45.17\00:11:46.54 of a strong breast cancer history in a family 00:11:46.57\00:11:48.96 that was separate from estrogen. 00:11:48.99\00:11:50.85 And every one in the family had it at a very young age. 00:11:50.88\00:11:53.90 Well, she--you know, she wanted to get tested early 00:11:53.93\00:11:56.83 and of course if it's tested early, 00:11:56.86\00:11:58.23 some people, are advocating bilateral mastectomies. 00:11:58.26\00:12:01.23 You know, if you don't have the tissue 00:12:01.26\00:12:02.63 you can't get the cancer. 00:12:02.66\00:12:04.26 So, she found out about it and she chose not to have 00:12:04.29\00:12:07.65 bilateral mastectomy and sure enough 00:12:07.68\00:12:09.26 she had the cancer gene. She got it later in her life. 00:12:09.29\00:12:11.63 So the question is, you know, there are some conditions 00:12:11.66\00:12:14.93 that we can prevent save life like from like 00:12:14.96\00:12:17.08 there are some genetics that shows about the heart. 00:12:17.11\00:12:20.36 Some genetics can be useful 00:12:20.39\00:12:21.76 'cause we can use modern medicine to intervene. 00:12:21.79\00:12:24.20 And some times it can put a damper on your life. 00:12:24.23\00:12:27.24 So this question of genetic testing 00:12:27.27\00:12:29.20 I don't know. 00:12:29.23\00:12:30.60 And now in modern medicine is going to start eventually 00:12:30.63\00:12:33.15 manipulating genetics. 00:12:33.18\00:12:35.05 And is that the right thing to do? 00:12:35.08\00:12:37.06 I don't know. We've heard about people cloning animals, 00:12:37.09\00:12:39.83 cloning body parts, doing all these other things. 00:12:39.86\00:12:42.67 To me that just doesn't seem the right way to go, 00:12:42.70\00:12:46.04 to you know to do this kind of things. 00:12:46.07\00:12:48.28 And that was in the original plan 00:12:48.31\00:12:50.40 to do these things. 00:12:50.43\00:12:51.81 And so it scares me a little bit about genetics. 00:12:51.84\00:12:53.95 So as far as getting testing done 00:12:53.98\00:12:56.28 I think if you want to do it to see, you know, about 00:12:56.31\00:12:59.10 what you're children might have or things you might pass down, 00:12:59.13\00:13:02.14 that's reasonable if you understand 00:13:02.17\00:13:04.37 that there's going be risk mentally of knowing that 00:13:04.40\00:13:07.00 you live in these things. All right, very good. 00:13:07.03\00:13:09.34 We'll take a short break and when we come back Dr. Marcum 00:13:09.37\00:13:11.68 has some final thoughts for us, stay tuned. 00:13:11.71\00:13:14.27 We've been talking today about a very sensitive subject 00:13:17.21\00:13:19.98 and that's the subject of cancer. 00:13:20.01\00:13:22.56 And we talked in the last segment 00:13:22.59\00:13:24.07 a little bit about genetic testing, 00:13:24.10\00:13:25.88 how that's very individual. 00:13:25.91\00:13:28.31 But one thing we want all people to know that, 00:13:28.34\00:13:30.45 you know, there's a place for modern medicine 00:13:30.48\00:13:32.27 but we don't understand everything in modern medicine. 00:13:32.30\00:13:34.68 Lifestyle is very important in preventing cancer 00:13:34.71\00:13:37.39 and also treating it. 00:13:37.42\00:13:38.79 But we want to encourage that relationship 00:13:38.82\00:13:41.10 with the great physician. 00:13:41.13\00:13:42.50 I want to pray for those right now 00:13:42.53\00:13:43.90 for those that might have cancer or any type of other disease. 00:13:43.93\00:13:47.19 Let's bow our heads. Father in heaven, 00:13:47.22\00:13:49.74 we wanna pray for Your healing power, 00:13:49.77\00:13:51.99 a relationship with You. 00:13:52.02\00:13:53.94 We wanna pray that You help us to understand 00:13:53.97\00:13:56.52 the place for modern medicine give us the ability 00:13:56.55\00:13:58.83 to see the lifestyle changes we need. 00:13:58.86\00:14:00.95 And we wanna thank You for your saving love and joy 00:14:00.98\00:14:03.12 that You give us each day. This is our humble prayer. Amen. 00:14:03.15\00:14:08.80 We're going to continue next time 00:14:08.83\00:14:10.99 with our discussions of all the things 00:14:11.02\00:14:13.71 that kill Americans and we're gonna 00:14:13.74\00:14:15.39 find out more about diabetes. 00:14:15.42\00:14:17.15 So please join us next time on "Ultimate Prescription." 00:14:17.18\00:14:20.86
