Welcome back to the program. 00:00:01.40\00:00:02.77 I'm Charles Mills here with Dr. James Marcum 00:00:02.80\00:00:04.17 We're talking about hypertension on today's program. 00:00:04.20\00:00:06.57 And Dr. Marcum, there's a question from 00:00:06.60\00:00:09.26 heartwiseministries. org web site here 00:00:09.29\00:00:11.42 that I would like to know too. 00:00:11.45\00:00:12.82 I sort of talked about it earlier... 00:00:12.85\00:00:14.70 HOW DO YOU KNOW IF YOU HAVE IT? 00:00:14.73\00:00:16.95 I mean, you don't FEEL it... Okay - right 00:00:16.98\00:00:20.61 Sometimes it's called a hidden killer, 00:00:20.64\00:00:22.85 but sometimes you can have symptoms. 00:00:22.88\00:00:25.11 One of the symptoms of high blood pressure might 00:00:25.14\00:00:27.62 be a headache. Okay 00:00:27.65\00:00:29.07 I have had some people that their faces 00:00:29.10\00:00:31.11 always turn red when they have high blood pressure. 00:00:31.14\00:00:34.45 But most people don't know they have it. 00:00:34.48\00:00:36.29 But one way they can find out IF THEY HAVE IT 00:00:36.32\00:00:38.47 is take this device here, 00:00:38.50\00:00:40.17 and this is called our "sphygmomanometer" 00:00:40.20\00:00:42.88 Now I would normally take your 00:00:42.91\00:00:44.28 coat off Charles, but I'm not going to do this. 00:00:44.31\00:00:45.88 I'm just going to show people how painless it is. Okay 00:00:45.92\00:00:48.91 You just wrap it around here, 00:00:48.94\00:00:50.93 and then you put it here and this puts pressure 00:00:50.96\00:00:53.75 on your upper arm, and then I would take 00:00:53.78\00:00:56.18 this stethoscope... can you hold that for me - I sure can. 00:00:56.21\00:00:58.28 I take this stethoscope - that way I can hear the blood moving 00:00:58.31\00:01:01.98 within your vessels. 00:01:02.01\00:01:03.59 Okay, now this might cause you - 00:01:03.62\00:01:05.32 Now see all these numbers here? I do 00:01:05.35\00:01:07.20 20, 40- that tells me the pressure... 00:01:07.23\00:01:09.08 So I'm going to inflate it above your systolic pressure 00:01:09.11\00:01:12.14 And it's a little bit harder when you're wearing your coat, 00:01:12.17\00:01:14.93 but I didn't want to mess up 00:01:14.96\00:01:16.33 the microphone you have underneath it. 00:01:16.36\00:01:18.09 So I'm going to puff it up really high... Okay there we go! 00:01:18.12\00:01:21.65 Can you feel it getting tighter? 00:01:21.68\00:01:23.47 Yeah, I can see it getting tighter. 00:01:23.50\00:01:24.87 So I'm going to take it up to 200... okay 00:01:24.90\00:01:28.18 And I'm going to listen to your artery, 00:01:28.21\00:01:30.96 and I'm going to listen very closely, 00:01:30.99\00:01:33.96 and I probably can't hear through your coat here... 00:01:33.99\00:01:43.27 Ahh - I saw it jump right there. Yes 00:01:43.30\00:01:45.15 I got it right here, Charles Okay 00:01:45.18\00:01:46.60 And your blood pressure, the top number was 100, 00:01:51.17\00:01:53.76 and the bottom number was 78, 00:01:53.79\00:01:56.25 and that is a very good blood pressure 00:01:56.28\00:01:58.11 considering you're in front of a television camera! 00:01:58.14\00:02:00.53 Now what that means is the pressure that the heart 00:02:00.56\00:02:04.18 pumps out was about 100, which is good, 00:02:04.21\00:02:06.65 the vessels can handle that. 00:02:06.68\00:02:08.05 The lower was 78 and that's excellent, 00:02:08.08\00:02:09.83 that's when the heart relaxes. 00:02:09.86\00:02:11.49 So based on this, I would say, Charles, 00:02:11.52\00:02:13.88 you DO NOT have high blood pressure. 00:02:13.91\00:02:16.78 Charles, you probably aren't going to have bad headaches 00:02:16.81\00:02:19.51 due to high blood pressure. 00:02:19.54\00:02:20.91 You're kidneys aren't going to be damaged by blood pressure 00:02:20.94\00:02:23.13 Charles, you probably will not suffer a weak heart 00:02:23.16\00:02:25.96 because of high blood pressure, 00:02:25.99\00:02:27.36 and one of these causes of death that we've 00:02:27.39\00:02:29.09 been talking about - you probably don't have 00:02:29.12\00:02:30.91 that risk factor. 00:02:30.94\00:02:32.41 So you're going to be at a lower risk of stroke, 00:02:32.44\00:02:34.25 lower risk of heart attack, 00:02:34.28\00:02:35.76 lower risk of renal disease, 00:02:35.79\00:02:37.22 lower risk of aneurysms just because 00:02:37.25\00:02:38.96 your blood pressure is good. 00:02:38.99\00:02:40.36 So you can go to a Wal-Mart, you can go some place 00:02:40.39\00:02:42.90 and put your arm in this thing and pump it up... 00:02:42.93\00:02:44.62 it gives you a pretty good idea. 00:02:44.65\00:02:46.02 And here's what I want to let our viewers know... 00:02:46.05\00:02:48.12 The ones that work around the wrist - they have some risk 00:02:48.15\00:02:51.83 and those aren't nearly as accurate. 00:02:51.86\00:02:53.68 They usually read high. 00:02:53.71\00:02:55.25 So if you have a wrist and it's normal, it's probably good. 00:02:55.28\00:02:57.87 But to buy the automated ones that go around upper here, 00:02:57.90\00:03:01.39 and if you carry extra weight, 00:03:01.42\00:03:03.72 you might need what we call the "big cuff. " 00:03:03.75\00:03:05.87 But if you measure this and it's pretty good... 00:03:05.90\00:03:08.00 These cost about $40- you can get them for $40. 00:03:08.03\00:03:09.93 Anybody can buy them... Anyone can get those, 00:03:09.96\00:03:12.28 and the ones that they have in the store, you just hit a button 00:03:12.31\00:03:15.67 and it does all this for you... 00:03:15.70\00:03:17.69 But, of course, in the doctor's office, we like to listen 00:03:17.72\00:03:20.16 to the pressure there. 00:03:20.19\00:03:21.56 And you can take the pressure in the arms, 00:03:21.59\00:03:23.06 and also, I can even take pressures 00:03:23.09\00:03:25.00 in your leg if I wanted to, 00:03:25.03\00:03:26.82 and I could listen to pressures in your leg and compare 00:03:26.85\00:03:28.85 the arms and the legs, 00:03:28.88\00:03:30.25 and that's actually how we tell if you have 00:03:30.28\00:03:32.01 good circulation in your leg is we can compare 00:03:32.04\00:03:34.87 the pressure down here which is called... 00:03:34.90\00:03:36.62 the ankle - we call it the "ankle-brachial index" 00:03:36.65\00:03:39.01 We compare the pressures there with the pressures up here 00:03:39.04\00:03:41.82 and if they're about the same, 00:03:41.85\00:03:43.22 we know you probably don't have bad disease 00:03:43.25\00:03:44.74 in your blood vessels. That makes sense 00:03:44.77\00:03:46.36 So that's called the "ankle-brachial index" 00:03:46.39\00:03:48.09 So blood pressure can damage numerous blood vessels 00:03:48.12\00:03:50.42 so that's how you know if you have high blood pressure. 00:03:50.45\00:03:52.46 Your blood pressure... Does it stay pretty consistent 00:03:52.49\00:03:54.69 throughout the day, or different... Nope 00:03:54.72\00:03:56.26 That's a good question! It fluctuates. 00:03:56.29\00:03:58.52 It's usually highest the first thing in the morning 00:03:58.55\00:04:00.75 because that's when the cortisol is the highest. 00:04:00.78\00:04:02.73 That's a wake-up-and-get-going, you feel that WOOO, I feel good! 00:04:02.76\00:04:06.76 It's usually lowest in the night when you're asleep and relaxed. 00:04:06.79\00:04:09.45 And apparently after naps the same thing happens - 00:04:09.48\00:04:11.16 Yeah it does but now some people, 00:04:11.19\00:04:14.16 you know as we get older, you know you jump up real quick 00:04:14.19\00:04:17.01 and you get lightheaded! whooo-whooo! 00:04:17.04\00:04:18.41 That's because the arteries haven't pushed the 00:04:18.44\00:04:20.51 blood pressure to the brain as quick. 00:04:20.54\00:04:23.02 And that happens very frequently, 00:04:23.05\00:04:24.62 so I want to tell our older listeners to make sure 00:04:24.65\00:04:27.14 if you change positions, if you are getting dizzy, 00:04:27.17\00:04:29.64 do it very slowly. 00:04:29.67\00:04:31.15 Another cause of that blood pressure fluctuation when you 00:04:31.18\00:04:33.54 sit up is if you're dehydrated, so you'll want to drink a lot 00:04:33.71\00:04:36.97 of water if you're getting dizzy too. 00:04:37.00\00:04:38.37 So blood pressure can change based on the elasticity 00:04:38.40\00:04:42.07 and the volume of what's in the blood vessels. 00:04:42.10\00:04:43.85 Question from heartwiseministries. org 00:04:43.88\00:04:49.20 What is the best treatment for high blood pressure? 00:04:49.23\00:04:52.98 Now, I'm thinking that if we are in a stressful situation, 00:04:53.01\00:04:59.01 the best treatment would be to reduce the stress... 00:04:59.04\00:05:01.79 But what about those of us who are sitting 00:05:01.82\00:05:03.60 in our easy chair and we take our pressure and it's elevated. 00:05:03.63\00:05:07.02 What do we do there? 00:05:07.05\00:05:08.42 Well first thing I would want to do is... 00:05:08.45\00:05:10.00 You know, one way to naturally lower your blood pressure 00:05:10.03\00:05:12.81 and I want all of our audience to try this... 00:05:12.84\00:05:14.38 Take a deep breath... 00:05:14.41\00:05:16.58 Hold it for 5 seconds... 00:05:16.61\00:05:20.35 Blow it out slow... 00:05:20.38\00:05:23.87 Do that 10 times. 00:05:23.90\00:05:25.78 That actually turns on nerves 00:05:25.81\00:05:27.63 that helps lower the blood pressure in the body. 00:05:27.66\00:05:30.22 Naturally! Yes - Have you ever heard, 00:05:30.25\00:05:32.77 you know, if you're stressed-out "Son, take a deep-breath" 00:05:32.80\00:05:35.85 Take a deep breath. It actually works! 00:05:35.88\00:05:37.38 Yes! There's actually chemistry behind that deep breath 00:05:37.41\00:05:40.18 that lowers your blood pressure. 00:05:40.21\00:05:41.80 Now if you take some deep breaths and your 00:05:41.83\00:05:43.40 blood pressure is STILL high, 00:05:43.43\00:05:44.80 you want to know WHY is your blood pressure high? 00:05:44.83\00:05:47.64 And that's where you would be an 00:05:47.68\00:05:49.05 investigative scientist, and you go to your doctor... 00:05:49.08\00:05:50.94 He's going to ask you about sleep apnea, 00:05:50.97\00:05:52.79 see if you carry extra weight, check your thyroid, 00:05:52.83\00:05:55.27 check all the other things that could cause it, 00:05:55.30\00:05:57.28 and to see if he could figure out why you have 00:05:57.31\00:05:59.07 high blood pressure. 00:05:59.10\00:06:00.47 And if he can't figure out why, 00:06:00.50\00:06:01.87 sometimes you have genetic high blood pressure. 00:06:01.90\00:06:03.96 And he's also going to do... 00:06:03.99\00:06:05.36 Oh, you want to see my blood pressure tools, Charles? 00:06:05.39\00:06:06.76 I do want to see these. okay 00:06:06.79\00:06:08.16 This is the one that we see if blood pressure 00:06:08.19\00:06:09.83 has damaged the eyes. 00:06:09.86\00:06:11.81 So you can look this way, 00:06:11.84\00:06:14.61 and I look in your eyes and I could see the 00:06:14.64\00:06:16.64 blood vessels in the back of the eye to see if they 00:06:16.67\00:06:18.72 have been narrowed. 00:06:18.75\00:06:20.12 Other things we can do to see if there has been damage is 00:06:20.15\00:06:22.17 the stethoscope because I can listen to your heart 00:06:22.20\00:06:24.26 to see if there are extra heart sounds. 00:06:24.29\00:06:26.23 And you know what this is? 00:06:26.26\00:06:27.75 I would rather not do that. 00:06:27.78\00:06:29.48 I don't blame you! 00:06:29.51\00:06:30.92 This is a tongue depressor. Yes 00:06:30.95\00:06:32.53 And does this have anything to do with blood pressure? 00:06:32.56\00:06:34.41 I'm afraid it probably does? 00:06:34.44\00:06:37.18 No it doesn't... I was just giving you a hard time. 00:06:37.21\00:06:39.05 But it can raise your blood pressure 00:06:39.08\00:06:40.97 if you think I'm going to jam it in your mouth. It worked! 00:06:41.00\00:06:42.37 What about this? 00:06:43.24\00:06:44.61 Do you think this has anything to do with blood pressure? 00:06:44.64\00:06:46.09 You're going to have to tell me... 00:06:46.12\00:06:47.49 No, it doesn't... this is a reflex hammer... 00:06:47.52\00:06:49.37 it has nothing to do with blood pressure. 00:06:49.40\00:06:51.09 But, I thought I would get your blood pressure to go up 00:06:51.12\00:06:53.68 because if I pounded on you like that, 00:06:53.71\00:06:55.31 your blood pressure might go up a little bit... It's working 00:06:55.34\00:06:57.83 So - our question... we're getting diverted here. 00:06:57.86\00:07:02.67 So back to our question, as far as blood pressure... 00:07:02.70\00:07:05.00 Naturally - how to bring it down naturally. 00:07:05.03\00:07:06.77 First you have to find out what is causing it and deal with that 00:07:06.80\00:07:09.84 If you want to bring it down naturally, 00:07:09.87\00:07:11.45 a couple of things that we can do... 00:07:11.48\00:07:12.88 #1 is exercise - regular exercise makes endorphins, 00:07:12.91\00:07:16.28 dilates the blood vessels. 00:07:16.31\00:07:18.41 Regular exercise lowers the blood pressure... Good rest 00:07:18.44\00:07:21.20 But when you're doing the exercise, 00:07:22.04\00:07:23.41 your blood pressure might go up a little bit. Right 00:07:23.44\00:07:24.81 But then it will come down afterwards, 00:07:24.84\00:07:26.21 makes these endorphins... 00:07:26.24\00:07:27.61 Getting adequate sleep lowers the blood pressure. 00:07:27.64\00:07:30.41 Adequate hydration - water can lower the blood pressure. 00:07:30.44\00:07:34.49 Staying away from things like caffeine 00:07:34.52\00:07:36.43 can lower the blood pressure. 00:07:36.46\00:07:37.83 Alcohol RAISES the blood pressure. 00:07:37.86\00:07:40.23 Getting enough rest at night. 00:07:40.26\00:07:42.07 Staying away from PROCESSED FOODS 00:07:42.10\00:07:44.04 can lower your blood pressure. 00:07:44.07\00:07:45.46 Eating lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, and grains 00:07:45.49\00:07:47.98 can lower blood pressure. 00:07:48.01\00:07:49.68 And I don't have a scientific study that proves this, 00:07:49.71\00:07:52.36 but I know that when you have a relationship with your Creator 00:07:52.39\00:07:55.11 ...the One that loves you the most, 00:07:55.14\00:07:57.13 that can give you a big HUG every day, 00:07:57.16\00:07:59.41 that HAS to lower your blood pressure as well 00:07:59.44\00:08:01.43 because it makes your body have peace and relaxation, 00:08:01.46\00:08:04.43 and that helps give you peace of mind 00:08:04.46\00:08:06.35 that has to bring down your blood pressure too. 00:08:06.38\00:08:10.02 Now, a question here from heartwiseministries. org 00:08:10.05\00:08:13.92 I think you've answered part of this... 00:08:13.95\00:08:15.68 What do you do if your blood pressure fluctuates? 00:08:15.71\00:08:18.63 Now you say it naturally fluctuates throughout the day 00:08:18.66\00:08:21.31 when you get up and so... 00:08:21.34\00:08:22.71 I guess from that, we'd have to say - you might want to 00:08:22.74\00:08:25.19 check your blood pressure several times during the day 00:08:25.22\00:08:27.64 to find an average or something? 00:08:27.67\00:08:29.07 That is great because I have some people that are sitting 00:08:29.10\00:08:32.47 in our audience that worry all the time about their health. 00:08:32.50\00:08:35.56 They're just worried... you know 00:08:35.59\00:08:37.42 "Do I have cancer or am I having a heart attack?" 00:08:37.45\00:08:39.87 They live in a state of anxiety. 00:08:39.90\00:08:41.87 And I have some people that start checking their 00:08:41.90\00:08:43.71 blood pressure and they check it so much, 00:08:43.74\00:08:46.02 that they worry their blood pressure up. 00:08:46.05\00:08:47.93 So they get so concerned that they check it all the time... 00:08:47.96\00:08:50.44 every 5 minutes and it's HIGH! 00:08:50.47\00:08:52.51 So, for those people, I'd say - we have a condition called 00:08:52.54\00:08:55.21 "white coat high blood pressure" 00:08:55.24\00:08:57.34 That's when they come to the doctor's office, 00:08:57.37\00:08:59.17 they find out that their blood pressure is high, 00:08:59.20\00:09:01.09 and then they go home and it's really low. 00:09:01.12\00:09:03.30 Now some doctors will see that and say... 00:09:03.33\00:09:04.74 "Oh Mrs. Smith, you have high blood pressure, 00:09:04.77\00:09:06.50 take this medicine. " 00:09:06.53\00:09:07.90 So they go home and their blood pressure is really normal; 00:09:07.93\00:09:09.53 they take that medicine, then their blood pressure 00:09:09.56\00:09:11.08 goes TOO low and they're passing out, banging their head 00:09:11.11\00:09:14.02 almost killing themselves. 00:09:14.05\00:09:15.54 So remember, medicines can kill... Yes 00:09:15.57\00:09:18.35 So THAT person really doesn't have high blood pressure. 00:09:18.38\00:09:21.41 So I ask them to take it at home when they are 00:09:21.44\00:09:23.15 nice and relaxed, feeling well and see what the 00:09:23.18\00:09:25.90 blood pressure is - do it 2 or 3 times, 00:09:25.93\00:09:28.26 but don't get so paranoid that you 00:09:28.29\00:09:30.37 check your blood pressure all the time. 00:09:30.40\00:09:31.94 In some countries, they don't even treat blood pressure 00:09:31.97\00:09:34.81 until it's high for long periods of time because they think 00:09:34.84\00:09:37.72 the blood pressure medication is riskier than actually 00:09:37.75\00:09:40.49 having the blood pressure. 00:09:40.52\00:09:42.00 And they work on lifestyle changes for 6 or 8 months 00:09:42.03\00:09:44.71 even with high blood pressure. 00:09:44.74\00:09:46.43 So... so, what was our question I forgot what it was... 00:09:46.46\00:09:49.57 Yeah - if the blood pressure fluctuates, 00:09:49.60\00:09:52.23 do you need a medication? 00:09:52.26\00:09:53.91 Yes. If you're dehydrated, sometimes that can cause your 00:09:53.94\00:09:57.10 blood pressure to go up and down. 00:09:57.13\00:09:58.74 If you're an anxious worrier, that's the point I was giving... 00:09:58.77\00:10:01.16 If you're an anxious worrier, it can go up and down, 00:10:01.19\00:10:03.11 and the real treatment for that is to quit being anxious 00:10:03.14\00:10:05.52 and worried... Not medicines! If you have PAIN... 00:10:05.55\00:10:07.45 You know if I took this thing and whacked you a few times 00:10:07.49\00:10:10.03 Guess what... Your blood pressure would go up too! 00:10:10.06\00:10:12.42 So if a person is having pain, 00:10:12.45\00:10:13.90 I wouldn't want to give them a blood pressure medicine, 00:10:13.93\00:10:16.02 I'd want to treat their pain. 00:10:16.05\00:10:17.99 So you want to try to find the cause, 00:10:18.02\00:10:19.96 ask the reason why they have high blood pressure. 00:10:19.99\00:10:22.41 Now if a person is going through a hard time in his or her life 00:10:22.44\00:10:26.49 and they are maybe going through a divorce, 00:10:26.52\00:10:27.97 or they've lost their job, 00:10:28.00\00:10:29.64 or their house has been foreclosed, 00:10:29.67\00:10:31.29 and they know their blood pressure is going to go up 00:10:31.32\00:10:33.68 because of the stress they're under, 00:10:33.71\00:10:35.48 should they take some medication just to 00:10:35.51\00:10:38.18 help with that blood pressure during that temporary time? 00:10:38.21\00:10:40.81 Only if it's causing an extreme symptom - like a bad headache 00:10:40.84\00:10:46.95 or only if they cannot get their blood pressure down with natural 00:10:46.98\00:10:49.96 I would say - Go take a walk... 00:10:50.93\00:10:52.51 Take some deep-breathing - lower it that way. 00:10:52.54\00:10:55.45 Take a VACATION! 00:10:55.48\00:10:57.38 Get in the Scriptures! READ the Psalms 00:10:57.41\00:11:00.00 ...That can be very peaceful too. 00:11:00.03\00:11:01.99 Do other things that we think can lower your blood pressure 00:11:02.02\00:11:04.34 so you don't have to take the RISK of a 00:11:04.37\00:11:06.68 blood pressure medication. 00:11:06.71\00:11:08.08 You are one of the few cardiologists in this world 00:11:08.11\00:11:09.81 that prescribes Bible reading and church attendance 00:11:09.84\00:11:12.23 as a medicine to help people... 00:11:12.26\00:11:16.04 But doesn't it make sense to do these things? 00:11:16.07\00:11:18.26 Yeah... It DOES! 00:11:18.29\00:11:19.66 Hey, can I check your tongue? No, okay - Good 00:11:19.69\00:11:21.31 All right, here we go to the next question... 00:11:21.34\00:11:22.84 I think we have time for this one... 00:11:22.87\00:11:24.43 I am on a beta blocker for blood pressure, 00:11:24.46\00:11:26.81 and it makes me tired - Is this is a common side effect? 00:11:26.84\00:11:29.16 Yes, beta blockers block adrenalin. 00:11:29.19\00:11:32.46 You know, we talked about epinephrine and stress. 00:11:32.49\00:11:35.12 Beta blockers block that effect on the heart, 00:11:35.15\00:11:37.58 and a very frequent side effect of beta blockers is it 00:11:37.61\00:11:40.89 slows down the heart. 00:11:40.92\00:11:42.29 And it's very good if we want to put the heart in a cast... 00:11:42.32\00:11:45.07 like if we break your arm and you want to put a cast 00:11:45.10\00:11:46.97 so it doesn't work as hard. 00:11:47.00\00:11:48.37 It's great after surgery to keep the funny heart rhythms 00:11:48.40\00:11:50.93 and it's a good blood pressure medicine for some people; 00:11:50.96\00:11:53.94 however, it can make a person feel tired and fatigued. 00:11:53.97\00:11:57.50 All blood pressure medicines have at least some side effects. 00:11:57.53\00:12:01.27 If you want to have a question answered on this program, 00:12:01.30\00:12:03.98 visit... heartwiseministries. org 00:12:04.01\00:12:06.16 There is a place there you can put the question, 00:12:06.19\00:12:07.61 and will bring it in to Dr. Marcum's attention 00:12:07.64\00:12:10.21 on a future broadcast. 00:12:10.24\00:12:12.12 We'll be right back after we have a break 00:12:12.15\00:12:15.08 and when we come back let's talk to the 00:12:15.11\00:12:16.82 Master Physician Stay tuned... 00:12:16.85\00:12:19.16 Years ago we used to talk about high blood pressure 00:12:19.19\00:12:24.85 as a cause of death very frequently 00:12:24.88\00:12:27.14 in medical health programs. 00:12:27.17\00:12:28.97 It just doesn't seem to be as trendy anymore, 00:12:29.00\00:12:32.14 but it's still very important. 00:12:32.17\00:12:33.77 We've talked about the importance of getting 00:12:33.80\00:12:35.43 your blood pressure measured. 00:12:35.46\00:12:37.25 And no matter what your age, 00:12:37.28\00:12:38.65 you need to have your blood pressure measured. 00:12:38.68\00:12:40.85 If it is high; find out why it's high... 00:12:40.88\00:12:43.08 If you can understand the reasons why it's high, 00:12:43.11\00:12:45.69 then hopefully, you can get it under good control 00:12:45.72\00:12:48.59 with lifestyle changes, and in some instances 00:12:48.62\00:12:51.14 you might need a medication. 00:12:51.17\00:12:52.91 In thinking about high blood pressure, we think about all the 00:12:52.94\00:12:56.32 stress that this world is under. 00:12:56.35\00:12:58.46 When your body is under stress, 00:12:58.49\00:12:59.94 it makes a lot of adrenalin; that raises blood pressure. 00:12:59.97\00:13:03.27 Well I know one way to help lower some of that stress, 00:13:03.30\00:13:06.31 and some of that stress can be lowered by going to the 00:13:06.34\00:13:08.69 Ultimate Physician - a relationship with our 00:13:08.72\00:13:11.42 Great Creator. 00:13:11.45\00:13:13.28 God can give us peace inside. 00:13:13.31\00:13:15.44 The peace that knows that He is always there with us, 00:13:15.47\00:13:18.12 taking care of us, willing to heal us in His time. 00:13:18.15\00:13:21.85 Willing to give us that love that we all search for, 00:13:21.88\00:13:24.80 and to show us what His will is for our lives. 00:13:24.83\00:13:27.52 If you would like that peace today, 00:13:27.55\00:13:29.68 let's bow our heads together. 00:13:29.71\00:13:31.49 Heavenly Father...
