Yeah. 00:01:57.13\00:01:59.26 If you don't get good water, enough water, 00:01:59.27\00:02:01.94 that put stress on the system 00:02:01.95\00:02:03.34 and these chemical reactions occur. 00:02:03.35\00:02:05.60 Similarly if we don't put good fuel in our body, 00:02:05.61\00:02:08.55 if we don't eat good--right, 00:02:08.56\00:02:10.14 that also put stress on our body. 00:02:10.15\00:02:13.06 Back at creation, you know, 00:02:13.07\00:02:14.48 the original diet, the original God diet was one, 00:02:14.49\00:02:17.40 as you look in Genesis, the biblical technology says 00:02:17.41\00:02:21.19 let's have, you know, a plant based diet. 00:02:21.20\00:02:24.01 You know fruits, vegetables, nuts, and grains. 00:02:24.02\00:02:27.04 That was the best diet that was given to us 00:02:27.05\00:02:29.98 way back at creation. Yeah. 00:02:29.99\00:02:31.75 And now science is proving that people 00:02:31.76\00:02:33.77 that can move towards that diet are healthier. 00:02:33.78\00:02:36.60 They have less heart attacks. 00:02:36.61\00:02:38.21 And they can reverse cardiovascular disease. 00:02:38.22\00:02:40.59 They feel better, less chance of becoming overweight. Yes. 00:02:40.60\00:02:44.30 And you know, overweight, 00:02:44.31\00:02:45.30 now there are 60% of people are overweight, 00:02:45.31\00:02:47.25 that's a major stress in America. 00:02:47.26\00:02:49.65 And I was recently reading an article 00:02:49.66\00:02:51.47 that comes from, you know, 00:02:51.48\00:02:52.71 people that are overweight and all the damaged organs 00:02:52.72\00:02:55.15 that we have from not eating well. 00:02:55.16\00:02:56.83 If you think about not sleeping well, 00:02:56.84\00:02:58.44 they get sleep apnea, headaches, heart attacks, 00:02:58.45\00:03:02.19 high blood pressure, diabetes, joint pains, 00:03:02.20\00:03:05.79 problem sleeping at night, depression, 00:03:05.80\00:03:08.30 all these things can be tracked back to our diet, 00:03:08.31\00:03:11.73 not eating the right foods. 00:03:11.74\00:03:13.49 Now three or four hundred years ago, 00:03:13.50\00:03:15.81 our society just did not have these problems. 00:03:15.82\00:03:18.49 So as part of good medical treatment 00:03:18.50\00:03:20.80 we want to get back to this biblical technology 00:03:20.81\00:03:23.43 of putting in our bodies what designed us 00:03:23.44\00:03:25.87 to so we can run more efficiently. 00:03:25.88\00:03:27.87 You know I was reading something the other day 00:03:27.88\00:03:30.35 about pharmaceuticals and you wonder-- 00:03:30.36\00:03:34.51 what you say is absolutely right 00:03:34.52\00:03:36.07 that pharmaceuticals used to be basically plants 00:03:36.08\00:03:38.85 and they would give them plants and they would feel better. 00:03:38.86\00:03:41.70 But why don't they do that anymore? 00:03:41.71\00:03:45.51 The reason is because you can't register 00:03:45.52\00:03:49.41 and you can't copy write a food. 00:03:49.42\00:03:51.05 You can't broccoli and make it a copyrighted element. 00:03:51.06\00:03:57.05 You have to do something to it. 00:03:57.06\00:03:58.93 That you can copyright. 00:03:58.94\00:04:00.50 So what they do is they take the plants 00:04:00.51\00:04:02.74 that God gave us and they synthesize them. 00:04:02.75\00:04:06.43 They make versions of them. 00:04:06.44\00:04:09.76 They go in and they change them just enough, 00:04:09.77\00:04:12.57 so now I can copyright that. 00:04:12.58\00:04:14.64 Now it's called XYZ medicine as opposed to broccoli. 00:04:14.65\00:04:19.88 So, okay, why don't we just simply eat the broccoli? 00:04:19.89\00:04:25.71 It's a lot cheaper and it's a lot better for us. 00:04:25.72\00:04:28.77 So the pharmaceuticals again 00:04:28.78\00:04:30.40 there's a place for modern medicine, 00:04:30.41\00:04:31.73 there's a place where we need pharmaceuticals. 00:04:31.74\00:04:33.77 But you know, the God gave us 00:04:33.78\00:04:34.80 the pharmaceuticals that don't cost a lot of money, 00:04:34.81\00:04:36.67 we can grow in our backyard 00:04:36.68\00:04:38.16 and we can enjoy the rich benefits 00:04:38.17\00:04:40.85 that God had in mind and even 00:04:40.86\00:04:42.39 when we simply eat the pharmaceuticals 00:04:42.40\00:04:44.87 that he created for us on this day of creation. 00:04:44.88\00:04:47.27 And you know what it gets me, Charles, is-- 00:04:47.28\00:04:48.98 that you see the supplemental business going on, 00:04:48.99\00:04:51.43 all these supplements, everything. 00:04:51.44\00:04:53.14 And I admit if you don't, 00:04:53.15\00:04:54.44 if you're not able to eat fruits, vegetables, 00:04:54.45\00:04:56.22 and nuts, and grains or your endures, 00:04:56.23\00:04:57.95 you might need some supplements. Yes. 00:04:57.96\00:04:59.86 However the food that God gave us 00:04:59.87\00:05:03.21 is so much more bioavailable 00:05:03.22\00:05:05.36 that means it gets absorbed better. Yes. 00:05:05.37\00:05:07.45 You know, our body was made to handle these 00:05:07.46\00:05:09.42 and not all these substances are wrapped 00:05:09.43\00:05:11.31 in special delivery packages. 00:05:11.32\00:05:13.91 I was recently there's a documentary-- 00:05:13.92\00:05:17.17 I saw not too long ago, 00:05:17.18\00:05:18.59 "Forks over Knives," have you seen that? 00:05:18.60\00:05:19.69 Oh, yes, Oh, amazing. 00:05:19.70\00:05:21.10 It's a wonderful piece. 00:05:21.11\00:05:22.97 And on that study they had T. Colin Campbell, 00:05:22.98\00:05:25.92 who wrote the book "The China Study." 00:05:25.93\00:05:28.05 That goes back and really proves scientifically 00:05:28.06\00:05:31.07 how important our nutrition is and how as we've gotten away 00:05:31.08\00:05:34.93 from this as a society, 00:05:34.94\00:05:36.95 all the rise in diseases that we've seen. 00:05:36.96\00:05:39.82 And you know, we've seen increasing rates 00:05:39.83\00:05:41.31 of cardiovascular disease, increasing rates of cancer. 00:05:41.32\00:05:45.19 We've also seen some infections. 00:05:45.20\00:05:46.70 You know, you look at all these infections 00:05:46.71\00:05:48.60 that we've gone up and more than that the big epidemic 00:05:48.61\00:05:51.78 that we gonna have now, you know, in United States 00:05:51.79\00:05:55.02 and perhaps the whole world is this epidemic 00:05:55.03\00:05:57.47 of being overweight. Oh, my God. 00:05:57.48\00:05:58.97 And the chemistry that extra weight causes. 00:05:58.98\00:06:01.26 Charles, do you know what they call extra weight? 00:06:01.27\00:06:04.01 You know what they call that? 00:06:04.02\00:06:05.01 Now you've told me, this is scary stuff. 00:06:05.02\00:06:06.03 Yes, yes, yes. This is very scary stuff. 00:06:06.04\00:06:07.35 They have actually given it a name-- 00:06:07.36\00:06:08.76 Yes, yes, just a bit. 00:06:08.77\00:06:10.34 They call it the Endocannabinoid System. 00:06:10.35\00:06:12.98 Yeah. So you, when you have extra weight 00:06:12.99\00:06:14.98 you have the endocannabinoid system 00:06:14.99\00:06:16.65 around your waist or wherever it might be. Yeah. 00:06:16.66\00:06:19.16 And this system wants to stay alive. 00:06:19.17\00:06:21.60 It makes chemicals, Charles that makes 00:06:21.61\00:06:24.42 the inflammatory marks go up. 00:06:24.43\00:06:26.66 It makes chemicals that make you more hungry 00:06:26.67\00:06:28.53 and eat the wrong foods. 00:06:28.54\00:06:29.85 It makes you depressed. 00:06:29.86\00:06:31.39 It makes you more likely to get diabetes 00:06:31.40\00:06:33.92 and high blood pressure, do not sleep well at night. 00:06:33.93\00:06:36.46 It literally wants to keep itself alive. 00:06:36.47\00:06:38.90 But when it makes these chemicals, 00:06:38.91\00:06:40.79 the real solution, guess what, 00:06:40.80\00:06:42.48 is not to, is just turn off the system. 00:06:42.49\00:06:44.88 Now what we've done 00:06:44.89\00:06:46.01 is we've created a bunch of medicines. 00:06:46.02\00:06:47.54 Well, if your blood sugar is high, let's give a medicine. 00:06:47.55\00:06:49.87 If your blood pressure is high, let's give a medicine. 00:06:49.88\00:06:52.31 You know, if you can't sleep at night 00:06:52.32\00:06:53.99 let's give a medicine. 00:06:54.00\00:06:55.10 If your joints hurt because you carrying an extra weight, 00:06:55.11\00:06:57.45 let's give a medicine. 00:06:57.46\00:06:58.76 But that's not always the solution to this problem. 00:06:58.77\00:07:01.88 And you know, if you're banging Charles, 00:07:01.89\00:07:03.85 if you keep hitting your head against the wall 00:07:03.86\00:07:05.74 and, you know, your head started hurting, 00:07:05.75\00:07:07.28 you would go to doctor and says, you know, 00:07:07.29\00:07:09.07 I'm gonna give you a pain medicine. 00:07:09.08\00:07:10.49 So that will make the pain not as bad. 00:07:10.50\00:07:13.31 But the real solution is to quit 00:07:13.32\00:07:15.21 banging your head on the wall. 00:07:15.22\00:07:16.21 Stop banging your head. Yes. 00:07:16.22\00:07:17.33 So in getting back to this epidemic crisis 00:07:17.34\00:07:19.97 we're gonna have and all the diseases 00:07:19.98\00:07:21.49 that we see related to being heavy, 00:07:21.50\00:07:24.12 the real solution is to get this weight off of us 00:07:24.13\00:07:27.09 and the real solution is eating better, 00:07:27.10\00:07:29.21 getting back to a plant based diet. 00:07:29.22\00:07:30.67 I want to recommend that documentary 00:07:30.68\00:07:32.81 "Forks over Knives" to everyone and "The China Study," 00:07:32.82\00:07:35.48 if you wanna learn about good nutrition. 00:07:35.49\00:07:37.47 But I want the point that, 00:07:37.48\00:07:38.53 I want our listeners to really and our viewers 00:07:38.54\00:07:40.82 to really understand today is this, 00:07:40.83\00:07:43.76 that your nutrition causes disease. 00:07:43.77\00:07:46.69 Your nutrition is also a treatment for disease. 00:07:46.70\00:07:49.60 And you're not gonna hear 00:07:49.61\00:07:50.60 about that in the textbooks all the time. 00:07:50.61\00:07:53.59 You know, we talked about that with air and water, 00:07:53.60\00:07:55.43 but you can treat yourself and also harm yourself 00:07:55.44\00:07:57.73 by the things you put in your body. 00:07:57.74\00:07:59.02 Now you didn't hear about this 00:07:59.03\00:08:00.66 in medical school either, didn't you? 00:08:00.67\00:08:01.88 No, we didn't have much 00:08:01.89\00:08:03.23 nutritional training at all in medical school. 00:08:03.24\00:08:06.16 In fact, you know, we had a few lectures about, 00:08:06.17\00:08:08.44 you know, nutrition effects diabetes. 00:08:08.45\00:08:10.49 But we went, we went to school and I said, 00:08:10.50\00:08:12.90 oh, I've learned most from talking to people 00:08:12.91\00:08:15.97 and I know you interviewed lot of people 00:08:15.98\00:08:18.06 through the years on your radio programs 00:08:18.07\00:08:19.77 as an editor of "Vibrant Life." 00:08:19.78\00:08:22.49 That--that you know, what are some pearls 00:08:22.50\00:08:24.22 that you might want to share with our viewers here? 00:08:24.23\00:08:25.75 Well, I tell you one of the things 00:08:25.76\00:08:26.98 that struck me the most is, 00:08:26.99\00:08:28.51 I was talking with T. Colin Campbell, 00:08:28.52\00:08:30.37 the very person that wrote "The China Study," 00:08:30.38\00:08:32.55 you're talking about. We've had him on the show before. 00:08:32.56\00:08:34.52 And he was talking about supplements. 00:08:34.53\00:08:36.14 He was talking about taking nutrition 00:08:36.15\00:08:39.27 from a food and isolating and for instance Vitamin C. 00:08:39.28\00:08:43.14 We think Vitamin C is so good for us. 00:08:43.15\00:08:45.25 Orange juice have a lot of Vitamin C. 00:08:45.26\00:08:47.02 So let's take an orange and let's go in 00:08:47.03\00:08:49.36 and let's take the Vitamin C out of the orange 00:08:49.37\00:08:52.67 and put it in pill and then we can sell the pill. Right. 00:08:52.68\00:08:56.42 Well, okay, there is Vitamin C in a Vitamin C pill. 00:08:56.43\00:09:00.06 But here is the problem. 00:09:00.07\00:09:01.27 And T. Colin Campbell and all of these people, 00:09:01.28\00:09:03.56 who have been looking in the nutrition 00:09:03.57\00:09:04.84 for the past 20-30 years, concur on this thing. 00:09:04.85\00:09:09.01 What you're doing is you're taking the Vitamin C 00:09:09.02\00:09:12.65 away from the delivery mechanism of that fruit. 00:09:12.66\00:09:18.62 When you eat an orange, 00:09:18.63\00:09:20.51 you're not only eating the Vitamin C 00:09:20.52\00:09:23.12 you're also eating all the phytochemicals, 00:09:23.13\00:09:25.63 you're also eating the fiber, 00:09:25.64\00:09:27.91 all of these are necessary for that Vitamin C 00:09:27.92\00:09:31.67 to be metabolize correctly in your body. 00:09:31.68\00:09:35.03 So when you eat the orange, 00:09:35.04\00:09:36.03 in goes the Vitamin C and the fiber carries it 00:09:36.04\00:09:38.69 slowly through the body 00:09:38.70\00:09:41.74 and the nutrients are absorbed slowly through the body. 00:09:41.75\00:09:45.62 And everything is done at the pace that God designed it. 00:09:45.63\00:09:48.90 Instead you take the Vitamin C pill 00:09:48.91\00:09:51.09 and in goes and the body, woo, what's this? 00:09:51.10\00:09:53.41 What am I supposed to do with this? 00:09:53.42\00:09:55.30 Looks like Vitamin C, it smells like Vitamin C, 00:09:55.31\00:09:58.03 but I'm not sure 00:09:58.04\00:09:59.42 because there's no way of delivering this to the body. 00:09:59.43\00:10:02.41 And so lot of it just passed us through 00:10:02.42\00:10:04.03 and doesn't help us at all. 00:10:04.04\00:10:05.76 So it's important that when we talk about God's creation 00:10:05.77\00:10:10.16 and we talk about the Garden of Eden diet, 00:10:10.17\00:10:12.90 we're talking about whole foods. Right. 00:10:12.91\00:10:15.59 We're talking about foods as grown 00:10:15.60\00:10:18.54 and when we eat fruits as grown as opposed 00:10:18.55\00:10:20.61 to isolated portions of that food, 00:10:20.62\00:10:23.63 that's the best way of eating it. 00:10:23.64\00:10:25.08 And these issues get more and more complicated 00:10:25.09\00:10:27.78 when you talk about generically modified-- 00:10:27.79\00:10:30.02 Oh, my. Oh, my. Yes. 00:10:38.99\00:10:41.48 If you put water or kerosene in your car 00:10:41.49\00:10:44.65 of course it wouldn't run as well. 00:10:44.66\00:10:46.77 And we've to put great things in our car. 00:10:46.78\00:10:49.10 And I know you've interviewed, 00:10:49.11\00:10:50.30 you know, people like Edelstein, out in Texas. 00:10:50.31\00:10:53.62 And we're learning more and more 00:10:53.63\00:10:55.08 and I want our audience to understand today 00:10:55.09\00:10:58.23 that God gave us a great prescription to treat ourselves 00:10:58.24\00:11:01.93 and keep ourselves from ill, and that's in the food we eat. 00:11:01.94\00:11:04.94 It literally changes our chemistry. 00:11:04.95\00:11:07.15 I see in the office everyday when people eat better, 00:11:07.16\00:11:10.20 you know, they're inflammatory markers 00:11:10.21\00:11:11.84 like C-reactive proteins, those go down. 00:11:11.85\00:11:14.96 Their inflammation, the arthritis that goes down. 00:11:14.97\00:11:17.86 There is a chance that they might not have diabetes 00:11:17.87\00:11:19.80 and have all the diseases-- you know 00:11:19.81\00:11:20.80 the side effects of the medicines. 00:11:20.81\00:11:22.44 There blood pressure goes down when they eat well. 00:11:22.45\00:11:24.54 They sleep better when they eat better, 00:11:24.55\00:11:26.40 and more then anything else, Charles, 00:11:26.41\00:11:28.22 they start to think better. Exactly. 00:12:18.04\00:12:20.11 And when we're putting the wrong things in our bodies 00:12:20.12\00:12:22.25 and when we are hurting ourselves 00:12:22.26\00:12:24.15 and we're just filling ourselves up with food 00:12:24.16\00:12:26.34 that we were not designed to eat or digest, 00:12:26.35\00:12:29.60 our relationship with God suffers as well. 00:12:29.61\00:12:31.71 So that interconnection is so important. 00:12:31.72\00:12:33.42 So when we talk about-- 00:12:33.43\00:12:34.76 whatever we talk about on this show there is a physical 00:12:34.77\00:12:37.43 and a spiritual connection between the two of them. 00:12:37.44\00:12:40.49 And we have to always keep in mind 00:12:40.50\00:12:42.34 that modern medicine has its place.
