Yes, yes. 00:01:04.89\00:01:07.40 Thanks so much for having us, Jason. 00:01:07.43\00:01:08.86 Good, good. 00:01:08.90\00:01:10.23 Yeah, we've spent quite a bit of time together 00:01:10.27\00:01:13.00 and all of that working with ASI, 00:01:13.03\00:01:15.24 and ASIYP and all of that stuff. 00:01:15.27\00:01:17.94 But we're going to get into what you guys do in just 00:01:17.97\00:01:21.68 a little bit, also your respective ministries that, 00:01:21.71\00:01:25.18 you know, you work with, as well. 00:01:25.21\00:01:27.58 But we want to talk to Stephen and Felecia. 00:01:27.62\00:01:31.49 Steven and Felecia... Hi, Jason? 00:01:31.52\00:01:33.22 Hey, there you are. Hey. 00:01:33.25\00:01:35.69 It's great to have you guys here. 00:01:35.72\00:01:37.59 I wish you could be here with us on the set, 00:01:37.63\00:01:40.20 but we're happy to see your faces. 00:01:40.23\00:01:43.33 Yeah... 00:01:43.37\00:01:44.70 Same here Hopefully next time we can be there. That's right. 00:01:44.73\00:01:46.74 So, Stephen, tell us a little bit about what you do. 00:01:46.77\00:01:49.64 And then, Felecia, tell us about what you do 00:01:49.67\00:01:52.44 and your role with ASIYP. 00:01:52.47\00:01:55.58 So we are the co-presidents 00:01:55.61\00:01:58.91 of ASIYP. 00:01:58.95\00:02:01.62 And ASI has a long history 00:02:01.65\00:02:05.92 of empowering the laymen from business owners, 00:02:05.95\00:02:08.62 ministry founders, to professionals. 00:02:08.66\00:02:12.19 So in 2018, it saw the need to help 00:02:12.23\00:02:16.16 prepare our young next generation 00:02:16.20\00:02:18.23 of laymen to spread the gospel, 00:02:18.27\00:02:20.47 and that's where the young professionals or what we call 00:02:20.50\00:02:22.90 ASIYP came into place. 00:02:22.94\00:02:26.44 And what we believe is that all these young laymen 00:02:26.47\00:02:31.31 has a greater purpose in their workplace. 00:02:31.35\00:02:35.12 And so you understand a third of our lives are spent at work. 00:02:35.15\00:02:39.99 Of course, yeah. 00:02:40.02\00:02:41.36 About 90,000 hours, in the course of lifetime. 00:02:41.39\00:02:44.43 So why not using those opportunities, 00:02:44.46\00:02:46.86 instead of just going to work, 00:02:46.90\00:02:48.36 maybe to have a certain lifestyle, 00:02:48.40\00:02:50.70 we have to use those work times to really evangelize 00:02:50.73\00:02:54.64 and to help people know about Christ. 00:02:54.67\00:02:57.64 Mm-hmm. Yeah, and we... 00:02:57.67\00:03:00.71 I assist Stephen 00:03:00.74\00:03:03.21 with leading out young professionals. 00:03:03.24\00:03:06.85 And as he was saying, you know, 00:03:06.88\00:03:08.42 most of our times we are spent working 00:03:08.45\00:03:10.52 and as young people, when we recognize 00:03:10.55\00:03:13.36 the calling that God has on our lives from a very young age 00:03:13.39\00:03:16.73 that allows us to have an even greater impact. 00:03:16.76\00:03:20.80 So it's great to be able to lead that team 00:03:20.83\00:03:22.70 and to motivate. 00:03:22.73\00:03:24.07 And besides ASI Young Professionals, 00:03:24.10\00:03:26.43 I'm a full time homemaker 00:03:26.47\00:03:27.84 and mentor for other young women. 00:03:27.87\00:03:29.50 Nice. Nice. 00:03:29.54\00:03:30.87 And as co-presidents of ASIYP, 00:03:30.91\00:03:34.28 what do you hope to accomplish? 00:03:34.31\00:03:38.68 One of the main things that we're really 00:03:38.71\00:03:41.02 hoping to accomplish is, 00:03:41.05\00:03:43.02 especially within the Adventist Christian community, 00:03:43.05\00:03:47.49 seeing young people, recognizing that the workplace 00:03:47.52\00:03:52.63 that God has put them in, 00:03:52.66\00:03:54.16 or the neighborhood that they are in, 00:03:54.20\00:03:56.53 that they owe that workplace something and follow me. 00:03:56.56\00:04:00.34 They owe that workplace something very good, 00:04:00.37\00:04:02.60 which is the gospel. 00:04:02.64\00:04:04.21 The Lord has blessed us with a certain level 00:04:04.24\00:04:06.54 of influence and with a truth that our coworkers 00:04:06.57\00:04:10.25 or our neighbors need to hear. 00:04:10.28\00:04:12.01 So as YP leaders, we're hoping to empower them 00:04:12.05\00:04:15.82 so that they can know how to better use 00:04:15.85\00:04:17.99 their talents to serve people better, 00:04:18.02\00:04:20.26 to love them better, to build relationships, 00:04:20.29\00:04:23.12 and then to introduce people to the love of God 00:04:23.16\00:04:26.33 and to Jesus Christ. 00:04:26.36\00:04:28.36 With all the talents that they have 00:04:28.40\00:04:30.47 placed back into the power of the Holy Spirit, 00:04:30.50\00:04:34.60 we can really change the world 00:04:34.64\00:04:36.17 and take Christ in our marketplace, 00:04:36.20\00:04:38.54 in our neighborhood, wherever we are seeing people. 00:04:38.57\00:04:40.74 Amen. Amen. 00:04:40.78\00:04:42.34 Stephen, you work for Center for Online Evangelism, right? 00:04:42.38\00:04:47.68 Tell us a little bit about that? 00:04:47.72\00:04:49.78 Yes, I work for Center for Online Evangelism 00:04:49.82\00:04:53.12 as the Director of Marketing, 00:04:53.15\00:04:55.52 and that's a fancy word for really 00:04:55.56\00:04:58.13 me helping to strategize so that COE, 00:04:58.16\00:05:03.13 Center for Online Evangelism, 00:05:03.16\00:05:04.63 and its projects can be known to the people, 00:05:04.67\00:05:08.97 to our church and the worldwide people there 00:05:09.00\00:05:12.74 and have the opportunity to partake in God's work. 00:05:12.77\00:05:16.21 So we have a special project things like 00:05:16.24\00:05:18.98 asking Adventist's friend, and that what that is, 00:05:19.01\00:05:23.28 it's basically a virtual center of influence 00:05:23.32\00:05:27.42 where seekers can find truthful answers about Adventist. 00:05:27.46\00:05:31.76 You see, the seekers who are searching for spiritual 00:05:31.79\00:05:35.43 questions or biblical questions or even about Adventist, 00:05:35.46\00:05:38.70 they are searching every single month. 00:05:38.73\00:05:41.87 For instance, people search Bible prophecy about 14,800 00:05:41.90\00:05:46.64 searches a month, Sabbath 49,000 a month, 00:05:46.68\00:05:51.48 Bible study 30,000 a month. 00:05:51.51\00:05:53.88 So who are reaching these people? 00:05:53.92\00:05:56.08 If we're not reaching them, and we're not showing up 00:05:56.12\00:05:59.02 as an Adventist, then it's going to be all 00:05:59.05\00:06:01.96 the rest of Christianity or anyone who wants to talk 00:06:01.99\00:06:04.49 about these things. 00:06:04.53\00:06:06.03 Yeah. 00:06:06.06\00:06:07.40 And so we believe that we should be out there 00:06:07.43\00:06:08.76 so that Adventist truths can be presented in the right 00:06:08.80\00:06:13.17 way to the people who are searching. 00:06:13.20\00:06:15.34 Amen. 00:06:15.37\00:06:16.71 And so if people want to find out 00:06:16.74\00:06:18.07 more information about that, 00:06:18.11\00:06:19.44 what's your website for Center for Online Evangelism? 00:06:19.47\00:06:23.18 Yes, our website is called 00:06:23.21\00:06:25.21 the centerforonlineevangelism.org 00:06:25.25\00:06:28.38 And you could also reach me at 00:06:28.42\00:06:30.62 stephen -@centerforonlineevangelism.org 00:06:30.65\00:06:33.89 as well, if you have any questions. 00:06:33.92\00:06:35.96 Wonderful. 00:06:35.99\00:06:37.33 And I want to shift gears just a little bit 00:06:37.36\00:06:38.69 and go back to ASIYP, 00:06:38.73\00:06:41.03 why should people get involved with ASIYP? 00:06:41.06\00:06:45.40 And how can they get involved? 00:06:45.43\00:06:48.80 One of the main reasons a person should get involved 00:06:48.84\00:06:51.87 is because this is a special group of community 00:06:51.91\00:06:55.08 where you get to network with other individuals 00:06:55.11\00:06:57.58 who are of the same mind. 00:06:57.61\00:06:59.71 When you're running a marathon, 00:06:59.75\00:07:01.52 it helps a lot when there are other people 00:07:01.55\00:07:03.55 running with you to sort of encourage you to have 00:07:03.59\00:07:05.69 cheerleaders on the sideline pushing you forward. 00:07:05.72\00:07:09.16 So as young professionals, 00:07:09.19\00:07:10.53 when we're able to connect with other people, 00:07:10.56\00:07:13.16 we're gleaning from their knowledge 00:07:13.19\00:07:14.86 and their wisdom. 00:07:14.90\00:07:16.23 We're having mentorship opportunities. 00:07:16.26\00:07:18.63 We have the Facebook online groups, 00:07:18.67\00:07:20.44 it's all about relationship and community. 00:07:20.47\00:07:22.94 That's what we see Christ did when He was on earth. 00:07:22.97\00:07:25.47 He got these young people together, the disciples, 00:07:25.51\00:07:28.38 and that is how He taught them and empowered them. 00:07:28.41\00:07:31.05 So one of the main reasons is that this is a hub. 00:07:31.08\00:07:34.02 This is a network of people 00:07:34.05\00:07:36.08 who are learning from each other 00:07:36.12\00:07:37.72 and all learning from the Holy Spirit to better 00:07:37.75\00:07:40.26 serve persons in their workplace. 00:07:40.29\00:07:43.36 We have, of course, the convention every year, 00:07:43.39\00:07:46.70 volunteer opportunities and spring events. 00:07:46.73\00:07:50.00 So they're always things 00:07:50.03\00:07:51.60 taking place to help young people 00:07:51.63\00:07:54.14 put their talents and their resources into use to help 00:07:54.17\00:07:57.71 spread the gospel. 00:07:57.74\00:07:59.07 Nice. Nice. 00:07:59.11\00:08:00.58 Yeah, we hope more people will get involved in that, 00:08:00.61\00:08:02.98 and that conference was absolutely incredible. 00:08:03.01\00:08:05.95 God really blessed. 00:08:05.98\00:08:07.92 But I want to thank you for joining us. 00:08:07.95\00:08:10.22 I know that this time is short, 00:08:10.25\00:08:12.52 and we're moving around a lot, 00:08:12.55\00:08:14.26 and we've got a lot of moving parts. 00:08:14.29\00:08:16.02 But thank you so much for coming on, 00:08:16.06\00:08:17.56 and thank you for all that you've contributed to ASIYP. 00:08:17.59\00:08:22.36 We appreciate it, Jason. Thank you for having us. 00:08:22.40\00:08:24.27 All right. 00:08:24.30\00:08:25.63 Now we've got Alina and Rebecca. 00:08:25.67\00:08:29.27 Alina, let's start with you. 00:08:29.30\00:08:30.64 Tell us a little bit about what you do, 00:08:30.67\00:08:33.17 your role with ASIYP? 00:08:33.21\00:08:35.54 And then we'll transition into your ministry? 00:08:35.58\00:08:38.51 Sure. 00:08:38.55\00:08:39.88 So for the ASIYP, 00:08:39.91\00:08:42.92 my responsibility was logistics. 00:08:42.95\00:08:45.82 So that's really spending a few months 00:08:45.85\00:08:48.22 trying to get a lot of the smaller pieces 00:08:48.26\00:08:50.66 as well as the larger pieces together to make sure 00:08:50.69\00:08:54.53 the conference runs smoothly for attendees, 00:08:54.56\00:08:56.83 and that they have a really great experience. 00:08:56.87\00:08:59.63 Nice, and that took a lot of logistics 00:08:59.67\00:09:02.70 as a huge undertaking. 00:09:02.74\00:09:04.91 Yes, what we found and you know, 00:09:04.94\00:09:06.71 it's really nice to have a team that's supportive 00:09:06.74\00:09:08.84 and be able to be flexible. 00:09:08.88\00:09:10.75 Because you know, naturally things do, 00:09:10.78\00:09:13.15 doesn't go as planned, but if you have a team that can 00:09:13.18\00:09:15.42 move quick, be flexible 00:09:15.45\00:09:17.19 and kind of just fill in the gaps, 00:09:17.22\00:09:18.55 it just makes things run a lot smoother. 00:09:18.59\00:09:20.56 Amen. Amen. 00:09:20.59\00:09:22.32 And so, what would you say was the highlight 00:09:22.36\00:09:25.93 of the conference for you? 00:09:25.96\00:09:27.56 I would really say meeting people, 00:09:27.60\00:09:30.20 meeting people and seeing what they're doing and seeing 00:09:30.23\00:09:32.77 how they're impacting their sphere of influence. 00:09:32.80\00:09:36.74 That was really encouraging even for myself 00:09:36.77\00:09:38.94 and even for what I do. 00:09:38.97\00:09:41.38 And, Rebecca, you were on the logistics team as well. 00:09:41.41\00:09:46.01 So tell us a little bit about your experience there? 00:09:46.05\00:09:49.52 Yeah, serving on logistics 00:09:49.55\00:09:51.35 is definitely a crazy but fun experience. 00:09:51.39\00:09:54.82 I mean, I just love seeing the big vision picture 00:09:54.86\00:09:59.69 come through in all the little details, right? 00:09:59.73\00:10:01.46 Yes. 00:10:01.50\00:10:02.83 Just the organization working with the convention center, 00:10:02.86\00:10:04.73 making sure all the rooms are booked 00:10:04.77\00:10:06.40 and everything from the meals to, 00:10:06.43\00:10:08.27 you know, just considering all the different aspects 00:10:08.30\00:10:10.04 that go into convention. 00:10:10.07\00:10:13.11 And so it's been a blessing serving in that respect 00:10:13.14\00:10:16.01 and just being able to see people 00:10:16.04\00:10:18.78 enjoy the experience and knowing that you had a play 00:10:18.81\00:10:23.89 in that to see it all come together. 00:10:23.92\00:10:25.72 Yes. Yes. 00:10:25.75\00:10:27.09 And there's a lot that goes into planning 00:10:27.12\00:10:29.62 for a convention that people don't even see. 00:10:29.66\00:10:31.83 It's kind of like an iceberg, like you see the tip, 00:10:31.86\00:10:34.06 but there's a lot under the surface. 00:10:34.10\00:10:35.50 So yeah, that's huge. 00:10:35.53\00:10:37.90 Alina, tell us about what you do in your ministry? 00:10:37.93\00:10:42.07 Yeah. 00:10:42.10\00:10:43.81 So aside from helping with the ASIYP, 00:10:43.84\00:10:46.81 I run a ministry called Crossway. 00:10:46.84\00:10:49.48 And it's an online community platform 00:10:49.51\00:10:51.51 where ministry meet opportunities 00:10:51.55\00:10:53.21 to help them grow and to further their mission. 00:10:53.25\00:10:56.62 So when these ministries sign up, 00:10:56.65\00:10:58.15 they have their own profile page 00:10:58.19\00:10:59.95 where they can share their mission and solicit 00:10:59.99\00:11:02.46 for the things that's keeping them 00:11:02.49\00:11:04.29 from really flourishing and growing. 00:11:04.33\00:11:06.09 And I found that things like 00:11:06.13\00:11:08.50 funding volunteers and resources 00:11:08.53\00:11:12.30 is something that a lot of ministries face 00:11:12.33\00:11:14.17 and are challenged with. 00:11:14.20\00:11:15.54 So we want to help bring visibility to their ministry 00:11:15.57\00:11:18.04 as well as to their cause and their needs. 00:11:18.07\00:11:20.34 That's beautiful. 00:11:20.38\00:11:21.71 So it's kind of like a, 00:11:21.74\00:11:23.08 it's a networking and a problem solving. 00:11:23.11\00:11:25.68 It's really a solution oriented service. 00:11:25.71\00:11:28.88 It is. 00:11:28.92\00:11:30.25 And you know, we really also, besides helping ministries, 00:11:30.29\00:11:32.15 we want to also make it more convenient 00:11:32.19\00:11:34.32 for our lay members to get involved with these ministries 00:11:34.36\00:11:37.29 and know who's in their area really. 00:11:37.33\00:11:38.73 Yeah. 00:11:38.76\00:11:40.10 So it's a really great community to be a part of. 00:11:40.13\00:11:42.93 We also accommodate individuals 00:11:42.96\00:11:45.67 who have skills and talents 00:11:45.70\00:11:47.50 such as web developers, pianists, therapists. 00:11:47.54\00:11:51.04 We want to put these individuals on the map, 00:11:51.07\00:11:52.97 because again, 00:11:53.01\00:11:54.34 our members are looking for these types of services. 00:11:54.38\00:11:56.44 So we want to make it convenient 00:11:56.48\00:11:57.81 and easy to find them. 00:11:57.85\00:11:59.18 Yes, that's great. 00:11:59.21\00:12:01.05 And how do people find out more about Crossway? 00:12:01.08\00:12:04.29 We actually have a picture 00:12:04.32\00:12:06.15 that I'd like to show of Crossway. 00:12:06.19\00:12:08.69 Yes, I encourage everyone to visit crosswayconnects.com, 00:12:08.72\00:12:13.33 and please explore and see what we're all about, 00:12:13.36\00:12:16.73 get involved and sign up. 00:12:16.77\00:12:18.47 All right. Nice. 00:25:59.92\00:26:01.26 And your professional background, 00:26:01.29\00:26:03.32 you're med student, right? 00:26:03.36\00:26:05.13 Yes, I am. 00:26:05.16\00:26:06.49 Tell us little bit about that? 00:26:06.53\00:26:07.86 And how did you go into that? 00:26:07.90\00:26:09.23 Oh, that is a story. 00:26:09.26\00:26:10.60 I'm going to try to see 00:26:10.63\00:26:11.97 if I can magnetize tie that reality. 00:26:12.00\00:26:13.80 Yeah. 00:26:13.84\00:26:15.17 I think what's really unique about my medical journey is, 00:26:15.20\00:26:18.27 I mostly most individuals start med school 00:26:18.31\00:26:20.74 directly after doing their undergrad. 00:26:20.78\00:26:22.88 I started med school almost a decade after having completed 00:26:22.91\00:26:26.82 and I had also done extensive training 00:26:26.85\00:26:29.85 in medical missionary work and in naturopathic medicine. 00:26:29.88\00:26:33.32 And so, I am having the unique privilege of mixing, 00:26:33.36\00:26:36.86 you know, God's natural healing ways 00:26:36.89\00:26:38.76 and having that as the foundation 00:26:38.79\00:26:40.76 as I go into the regular allopathic medicine, 00:26:40.80\00:26:42.86 and it's been really sweet. 00:26:42.90\00:26:44.70 Yes. 00:26:44.73\00:26:46.07 It's been really, really sweet. 00:26:46.10\00:26:47.44 So... Praise God. 00:26:47.47\00:26:48.80 You've been able to witness to people 00:26:48.84\00:26:50.17 in the school as well. 00:26:50.21\00:26:51.54 Yeah, you know, the thing about witnessing is, 00:26:51.57\00:26:53.78 you're often the greatest witness 00:26:53.81\00:26:55.21 when you're not trying to let me try to witness, right? 00:26:55.24\00:26:58.35 It's just like a natural outgrowth of the life 00:26:58.38\00:27:00.68 that you live. 00:27:00.72\00:27:02.05 So one of the things that my colleagues always ask me is, 00:27:02.08\00:27:05.35 "Where do I go on Sabbaths, right? 00:27:05.39\00:27:07.76 Like what happens on Saturday?" 00:27:07.79\00:27:10.33 And so getting a chance to share with them 00:27:10.36\00:27:11.86 the Sabbath and then med school is really stressful. 00:27:11.89\00:27:14.60 It's a lot. 00:27:14.63\00:27:15.96 And so, I've been able to pray with some of my colleagues too, 00:27:16.00\00:27:21.07 and that's always been a sweet blessing. 00:27:21.10\00:27:22.90 Yeah, that is beautiful. 00:27:22.94\00:27:24.91 I love that. 00:27:24.94\00:27:26.27 You know, there are those witnessing opportunities 00:27:26.31\00:27:28.58 even in secular environment. 00:27:28.61\00:27:30.55 I mean, that's where the witnessing needs 00:27:30.58\00:27:32.41 to take place too, 00:27:32.45\00:27:33.88 you know, in those secular environments, 00:27:33.92\00:27:35.62 in the workplace, all of those things. 00:27:35.65\00:27:37.79 I want to thank you all for coming on. 00:27:37.82\00:27:39.39 I know that this was quick, quick, quick. 00:27:39.42\00:27:42.19 And I want to thank you for joining us. 00:27:42.22\00:27:44.49 I hope that you are inspired to get involved, 00:27:44.53\00:27:47.63 to share Christ in the marketplace, 00:27:47.66\00:27:49.63 reach out to some of these ministries. 00:27:49.66\00:27:51.60 Whatever God has placed in your hand, 00:27:51.63\00:27:53.37 use it to His honor and glory. 00:27:53.40\00:27:54.74 Until next time, may God richly bless you. 00:27:54.77\00:27:57.37
