quit my job for the Sabbath,

And I spent about a six
month period really just

God and asking him,

"What is it that
you want me to do?"

But not just asking,
actually doing certain things

I was, I was
exploring and doing different

outreach projects.

And one of those
was actually doing,

going out in at night

clubs are in Downtown

some friends of mine.

We talk to people,
create quick relationships

and ask people
if they want prayer.

And so when at
the end of that night,

it was about
three in the morning.

There was a homeless
woman that was sitting on,

on the step.

And she was just talking
about how God's been good to her

and all that stuff.

Now prior to this,

before we even
started this outreach,

the four of us
were in, in a car.

I believe it was
my car at the time.

We're all asking
God to confirm to us,

what it is He wants
to do with our life?

I say, "God, I

So we're all just praying,

right before we went
out to do this outreach,

and asking God to confirm it.

So you know, fast forward again,

to the end of the outreach,

this homeless
woman's on the step

talking about how
God's been good to her.

All four of us
are just kind of there

sitting with her just listening.

And all of a sudden she stops.

And she says, she
says, "Give me your hand."

So I was like, "Okay,
you know, here's my hand.

She kissed the back of our hands

and she, she was
kind of like hunched over

and she stood up straight.

She pointed at me and said,

And after that, she
just went back to normal.

And we were
shocked, we were stunned.

And I remember after that night,

I mean, you know,
it was so unbelievable.

I had asked my friends,
"Hey, did this really happen

like every three
months or six months?"

Because it was just so crazy,
but, but God confirmed that

there was a calling
on my life for something.

is when SALT started.

really just a crazy experience.

with two, two women

for a clothing trailer,

which we call "Change."

and hygiene product.

So not only were we doing food,

we're also doing
clothing and hygiene product,

How were you affected
in 2020 with COVID-19?

So, you know, we
had our shower trailer,

So all together, we're
offering showers, clothing,

hygiene, product,

And so 2020 came,
we wanted to operate

on a weekly basis now,

because we're only
operating once or twice a month.

So in 2020, came, we
hired two part time people

to operate weekly.

COVID hit a month
later, about March of 2020.

And we were debating

as to whether we
should continue or not,

because all the
other organizations

serving the
unsheltered at that time

had shut down.

Either they
weren't taking walk-ins,

no one could go
into the shelters.

The food shares where they feed

hundreds of people they stopped,

so that people
experiencing homelessness

were really left in
kind of like a hole,

left alone.

So we decided, you know, to just

and I believe God is the one

that inspired us to do
this to continue operating

because we're an
outside operation.

We're the safest
possible way to provide services

and the city of
Orlando actually back that up.

And instead of
operating once a week,

we ended up moving to
three days a week in 2020.

So what other services
did you add to the mix?
