00:02:04.75\00:02:06.82 Well, that is a very good question 00:02:06.86\00:02:08.66 because, you know, you look at, 00:02:08.69\00:02:12.83 you really have to look at what's going on in the news. 00:02:12.86\00:02:15.53 One of the aspects, 00:02:15.56\00:02:16.90 you have issues in families that are going on and prayer. 00:02:16.93\00:02:22.67 Prayer, of course, it's a natural go-to. 00:02:22.70\00:02:26.44 We need to pray a lot for the Lord to guide us 00:02:26.47\00:02:28.44 because He knows best what people need. 00:02:28.48\00:02:31.11 You know, we're just... 00:02:31.15\00:02:32.48 We're His instruments and it's a joy for us 00:02:32.51\00:02:35.02 to work together with the Lord 00:02:35.05\00:02:37.72 and making something great happen 00:02:37.75\00:02:41.26 with a few people. 00:02:41.29\00:02:42.62 And, you know, it's amazing 00:02:42.66\00:02:44.49 how God brings all these things together. 00:02:44.53\00:02:46.59 It really is. 00:02:46.63\00:02:47.96 Amen. 00:02:48.00\00:02:49.33 And tell us a little bit about 3ABN's coverage, 00:02:49.36\00:02:51.60 3ABN Latino's coverage? 00:02:51.63\00:02:52.97 3ABN Latino is reaching 00:02:53.00\00:02:56.50 every Spanish country in the world by satellite. 00:02:56.54\00:03:01.21 And, of course, there's the internet 00:03:01.24\00:03:04.11 that allows us to get in on YouTube. 00:03:04.15\00:03:06.82 It also allows us to get into some streaming devices 00:03:06.85\00:03:10.42 like Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV. 00:03:10.45\00:03:12.75 So that really opens another gate, 00:03:12.79\00:03:15.99 if you want to say, or another platform for us 00:03:16.02\00:03:19.79 to reach people. 00:03:19.83\00:03:21.16 And so virtually anyone in the world 00:03:21.20\00:03:23.57 can watch 3ABN Latino because of the internet. 00:03:23.60\00:03:26.63 People who have satellite dishes, of course 00:03:26.67\00:03:29.37 that we are on the main satellite 00:03:29.40\00:03:32.67 that cable companies receive in Central and South America. 00:03:32.71\00:03:37.08 And that has, the Lord has blessed us 00:03:37.11\00:03:38.75 because of this we're on over 1300 cable companies. 00:03:38.78\00:03:42.78 And so, God has done a marvelous job 00:03:42.82\00:03:45.85 because we could not have done it without Him. 00:03:45.89\00:03:48.42 Yes, yes. 00:03:48.46\00:03:49.86 I'm sure that you've seen a whole bunch of doors 00:03:49.89\00:03:53.66 opening up for 3ABN Latino 00:03:53.70\00:03:56.16 and God doing amazing things. 00:03:56.20\00:03:57.77 What's one of the latest developments 00:03:57.80\00:04:00.10 with 3ABN Latino? 00:04:00.14\00:04:01.97 Well, one of the latest developments 00:04:02.00\00:04:04.11 is the door that the Lord opened in Cuba 00:04:04.14\00:04:08.61 in something called El Paquete. 00:04:08.64\00:04:12.38 And this El Paquete, 00:04:12.41\00:04:14.65 for those translating it from Spanish to English 00:04:14.68\00:04:17.99 is the package. 00:04:18.02\00:04:19.75 And you say the package, 00:04:19.79\00:04:21.12 what you're talking about a package 00:04:21.16\00:04:22.49 that arrives at your house. 00:04:22.52\00:04:23.86 No, that's what they call a TV package. 00:04:23.89\00:04:27.20 Because in Cuba, every week, 00:04:27.23\00:04:29.76 a TV package is released with the new TV programs 00:04:29.80\00:04:36.27 that have come out. 00:04:36.30\00:04:37.64 Now, please understand that in Cuba right now, 00:04:37.67\00:04:41.51 cable company service does not exist. 00:04:41.54\00:04:45.68 Neither easy access to internet. 00:04:45.71\00:04:48.15 It costs a lot of money. 00:04:48.18\00:04:49.92 And people do have internet, 00:04:49.95\00:04:51.79 but they usually cannot afford a lot of time on the internet. 00:04:51.82\00:04:55.59 So sometimes they buy some internet service 00:04:55.62\00:04:58.49 and they kind of rationate, 00:04:58.53\00:05:01.86 let's say, they say, 00:05:01.90\00:05:03.23 well, we have 30 hours for this month. 00:05:03.26\00:05:05.43 It will be one hour a day that we can have internet. 00:05:05.47\00:05:08.44 And it's not very fast 00:05:08.47\00:05:10.04 to really allow streaming to happen. 00:05:10.07\00:05:12.94 And if you get, manage to get on streaming, 00:05:12.97\00:05:15.38 it may break up and you know, you're losing money. 00:05:15.41\00:05:18.48 So people don't normally stream programs. 00:05:18.51\00:05:23.42 Well, so there is a' package 00:05:23.45\00:05:27.82 that is made by in Havana, Cuba 00:05:27.86\00:05:30.66 that is made available to the people. 00:05:30.69\00:05:32.16 It goes to every single city in Cuba. 00:05:32.19\00:05:36.16 And so they have, 00:05:36.20\00:05:37.53 they are the latest in sports and movies, 00:05:37.57\00:05:40.20 soap operas are huge in Spanish countries, 00:05:40.24\00:05:44.64 so Cuba is... 00:05:44.67\00:05:46.01 How you say, telenovela. Telenovelas. 00:05:46.04\00:05:48.98 Now telenovelas the soap operas, 00:05:49.01\00:05:52.25 they don't run like they do in America, 00:05:52.28\00:05:55.92 for example that they run from, 00:05:55.95\00:05:58.45 I don't know, what time, 10, 11 in the morning, 00:05:58.49\00:06:00.26 12, 1, 2 o'clock in the afternoon. 00:06:00.29\00:06:02.09 I don't somewhere around the time. 00:06:02.12\00:06:04.36 They are prime time, 00:06:04.39\00:06:05.73 you know, they could be on a 7 PM, 6 PM, 7, 8 PM. 00:06:05.76\00:06:09.86 And that's prime time. 00:06:09.90\00:06:11.23 That's when these things are on. 00:06:11.27\00:06:12.60 So they're huge that way. 00:06:12.63\00:06:14.34 And so, people follow these things, 00:06:14.37\00:06:17.07 so they don't want to miss the next episode. 00:06:17.11\00:06:18.61 So they get the package. 00:06:18.64\00:06:20.28 So the package gets the sports, the movies, the telenovelas, 00:06:20.31\00:06:23.01 children's programming, 00:06:23.04\00:06:24.38 and it's available to the people 00:06:24.41\00:06:25.78 for very low cost, 00:06:25.81\00:06:27.98 very affordable for the people. 00:06:28.02\00:06:29.65 I mean, when I was in Cuba, March of 2020, I said, 00:06:29.68\00:06:33.86 I need to get a package 00:06:33.89\00:06:35.22 because we're going to be participating in the package. 00:06:35.26\00:06:37.33 I need to know what's out there. 00:06:37.36\00:06:39.73 What are we competing against 00:06:39.76\00:06:41.33 so that we can figure out what is the need? 00:06:41.36\00:06:45.53 So like you said, how do you figure this out? 00:06:45.57\00:06:47.30 Well, we would have to do some background research. 00:06:47.34\00:06:49.84 What's the background of this? 00:06:49.87\00:06:51.21 So I bought one, it costs me about 62 cents for a... 00:06:51.24\00:06:56.51 What you would call one terabyte. 00:06:56.54\00:06:58.28 I mean, and they, there were 00:06:58.31\00:07:00.38 literally hours and hours 00:07:00.42\00:07:02.15 and hours and hours of programming. 00:07:02.18\00:07:03.75 No way. And it costs 62 cents? 00:07:03.79\00:07:05.35 Sixty two cents, no way one person 00:07:05.39\00:07:08.06 could really watch all of that in one week. 00:07:08.09\00:07:11.53 I mean, you literally have to be up all night 00:07:11.56\00:07:14.06 with your eyes, with some toothpicks 00:07:14.10\00:07:15.53 trying to stay awake 00:07:15.56\00:07:17.43 because they put so much on there 00:07:17.47\00:07:19.03 and they know that no one is going to watch everything. 00:07:19.07\00:07:21.94 So they're putting on a variety of things 00:07:21.97\00:07:24.17 for people to be able to pick from. 00:07:24.21\00:07:26.41 So we are going to be in the package. 00:07:26.44\00:07:29.04 Wow! That's incredible. 00:07:29.08\00:07:31.08 So how does the package work? 00:07:31.11\00:07:32.98 Like, are you able to search for what you want or? 00:07:33.01\00:07:37.25 Oh, yes. 00:07:37.29\00:07:38.62 Well, this is the way the package is made available. 00:07:38.65\00:07:40.19 When I say it's made available to the people. 00:07:40.22\00:07:42.99 It is because they can go to a place 00:07:43.02\00:07:46.70 where somebody is there in a little place 00:07:46.73\00:07:49.93 selling the package 00:07:49.96\00:07:51.50 and the people come with their memory 00:07:51.53\00:07:53.37 and some just have a small memory, 00:07:53.40\00:07:54.90 some have a hard drive, they bring it and they'll say, 00:07:54.94\00:07:58.27 I want the whole package or they might say, 00:07:58.31\00:08:00.58 well, I just want, you know, the children's programming 00:08:00.61\00:08:02.61 or I want all the telenovelas 00:08:02.64\00:08:04.41 or all the movies and all the sports, 00:08:04.45\00:08:06.28 they can literally, 00:08:06.31\00:08:08.12 you can literally say what you want. 00:08:08.15\00:08:10.45 And you can say, I don't want any of this 00:08:10.49\00:08:12.09 and they don't put it on there for you. 00:08:12.12\00:08:14.19 So they will say, come back in one hour, 00:08:14.22\00:08:16.76 two hours, three hours, whatever the case may be, 00:08:16.79\00:08:18.39 come back in the afternoon 00:08:18.43\00:08:19.76 and we'll have it ready for you. 00:08:19.79\00:08:21.13 But there are some people that receive the package 00:08:21.16\00:08:25.67 by people knocking on their door. 00:08:25.70\00:08:27.40 And they say, would you like to package this week? 00:08:27.44\00:08:29.34 Yeah, give it to me. 00:08:29.37\00:08:30.71 So they are literally catering to the people. 00:08:30.74\00:08:34.24 So they can get the package. 00:08:34.28\00:08:35.84 Wow! 00:08:35.88\00:08:37.71 Could this be something 00:08:37.75\00:08:39.48 that churches or church members handout, 00:08:39.51\00:08:42.85 like, can they go door-to-door, how's that work? 00:08:42.88\00:08:45.55 That's a very good question. 00:08:45.59\00:08:48.16 If one, when you know right now 00:08:48.19\00:08:51.66 church members don't want to do that. 00:08:51.69\00:08:53.03 Yeah. 00:08:53.06\00:08:54.40 Because what they offering 00:08:54.43\00:08:56.00 is not good Christian programming. 00:08:56.03\00:09:00.94 See. Got you. 00:09:00.97\00:09:02.30 But when 3ABN Latino is on 00:09:02.34\00:09:03.67 in which I'm talking to you now 00:09:03.71\00:09:05.71 when this program is on the air. 00:09:05.74\00:09:08.18 It may already be on 00:09:08.21\00:09:09.54 because we're just moments away from getting on. 00:09:09.58\00:09:11.81 Yes. 00:09:11.85\00:09:13.68 What's going on is that we are, 00:09:13.72\00:09:16.02 they're waiting for us to bring them a... 00:09:16.05\00:09:21.16 Because we already submitted our programming to them 00:09:21.19\00:09:24.43 for six weeks. 00:09:24.46\00:09:26.80 And we thought that was going to get on, 00:09:26.83\00:09:29.26 but when they looked through the programming. 00:09:29.30\00:09:31.17 They said, "We need you to put on 00:09:31.20\00:09:33.40 a commercial at the end, 00:09:33.44\00:09:35.30 what they call it public service announcement 00:09:35.34\00:09:36.94 at the end. 00:09:36.97\00:09:38.31 Which is a public service announcement 00:09:38.34\00:09:39.77 is don't forget to turn off the lights 00:09:39.81\00:09:41.68 when you leave the room, 00:09:41.71\00:09:43.21 pick up, don't throw trash in the streets, 00:09:43.24\00:09:45.61 pick, pick up trash from the streets, recycle. 00:09:45.65\00:09:48.48 And, of course, okay, so we had to go, 00:09:48.52\00:09:51.55 we have to bring, not bring it back, 00:09:51.59\00:09:53.69 but we already had the programming here, 00:09:53.72\00:09:55.32 but we needed to add our programming. 00:09:55.36\00:09:58.09 I mean, that promotional, 00:09:58.13\00:10:01.56 that public service announcement 00:10:01.60\00:10:02.93 at the end. 00:10:02.96\00:10:04.30 So we have a, a public service announcement 00:10:04.33\00:10:05.73 about Coronavirus. 00:10:05.77\00:10:07.27 We have a public service announcement 00:10:07.30\00:10:08.70 about recycling and about the trash as well. 00:10:08.74\00:10:11.74 So every program at the end of the program, 00:10:11.77\00:10:14.04 one of these goes on there. 00:10:14.08\00:10:15.81 Okay. Yes. 00:10:15.84\00:10:17.18 So that's what was needed. 00:10:17.21\00:10:18.55 That's what has literally prevented us 00:10:18.58\00:10:20.75 from being on already. 00:10:20.78\00:10:23.02 So how did, 00:10:23.05\00:10:24.39 because I know there's even more 00:10:24.42\00:10:25.75 to this story. 00:10:25.79\00:10:27.12 How did God work out all these details? 00:10:27.16\00:10:31.43 You know, it's very interesting 00:10:31.46\00:10:32.79 you asked that question as well, 00:10:32.83\00:10:34.16 because, you know, we're praying, 00:10:34.20\00:10:37.37 you know, we look at what we're covering 00:10:37.40\00:10:39.53 and there are places that we say, 00:10:39.57\00:10:41.60 wow, Lord, please open the door for this place. 00:10:41.64\00:10:44.51 And I could literally tell you that there are places 00:10:44.54\00:10:49.24 that we have some coverage, but we want more. 00:10:49.28\00:10:52.81 And there are places where we have 00:10:52.85\00:10:54.18 very good coverage 00:10:54.22\00:10:55.55 and we praise the Lord for that. 00:10:55.58\00:10:56.92 But when you look at the list, 00:10:56.95\00:10:58.29 Cuba was one of those places where we're like, 00:10:58.32\00:11:01.29 oh, Lord, please open the door there 00:11:01.32\00:11:02.92 because we are not on. 00:11:02.96\00:11:04.43 Now, I say, we're on satellite, the satellite covers Cuba. 00:11:04.46\00:11:08.06 However, people don't have satellite dishes. 00:11:08.10\00:11:10.43 So the other option is, 00:11:10.47\00:11:12.23 um, the other option is to get on a local TV channel. 00:11:12.27\00:11:16.97 And I didn't mention this before, 00:11:17.01\00:11:18.47 but there are three or four national TV channels 00:11:18.51\00:11:21.51 run by the Cuban government. 00:11:21.54\00:11:22.88 Okay. 00:11:22.91\00:11:24.25 Getting on that is very difficult. 00:11:24.28\00:11:25.61 Very, very difficult. 00:11:25.65\00:11:27.92 We did submit some programming several years ago, 00:11:27.95\00:11:30.35 by the way we've been, 00:11:30.39\00:11:31.79 this is something we've been working on. 00:11:31.82\00:11:33.15 Several years ago, we submitted some programming. 00:11:33.19\00:11:36.22 Now I could go back seven years 00:11:36.26\00:11:38.53 and tell you something we did seven years ago 00:11:38.56\00:11:40.73 by trying to familiarize the members of the church 00:11:40.76\00:11:44.40 with 3ABN Latino. 00:11:44.43\00:11:46.10 They saw us, now I say seven, about seven years ago, 00:11:46.13\00:11:49.74 but they saw 3ABN about 2001. 00:11:49.77\00:11:55.28 March, 2001. Why? 00:11:55.31\00:11:57.58 Because we went with what we called 00:11:57.61\00:12:00.02 the Voice of Hope invited us 00:12:00.05\00:12:01.95 to participate in evangelistic campaign. 00:12:01.98\00:12:04.29 So 3ABN was the first Christian television channel 00:12:04.32\00:12:09.46 to go with their cameras to Cuba, 00:12:09.49\00:12:12.93 to record an evangelistic campaign. 00:12:12.96\00:12:15.90 You can say, the Lord blessed us 00:12:15.93\00:12:17.27 to make history that way. 00:12:17.30\00:12:19.00 Now, when we recorded that television, 00:12:19.03\00:12:20.90 that evangelistic campaign, it was one week long. 00:12:20.94\00:12:24.07 It was also the very first time 00:12:24.11\00:12:26.21 that the Cuban government allowed any church 00:12:26.24\00:12:30.68 to have a public evangelistic campaign, 00:12:30.71\00:12:33.68 in the sense of that is not held in a church. 00:12:33.72\00:12:36.48 Since the 1970s, 00:12:36.52\00:12:38.52 no church had been allowed to do that. 00:12:38.55\00:12:41.19 So when 2001 came, 00:12:41.22\00:12:43.46 we were able to go there and we were able to have 00:12:43.49\00:12:47.20 our equipment inside a theater. 00:12:47.23\00:12:50.63 And because there aren't really that many what you would call 00:12:50.67\00:12:53.90 or any halls for people to have. 00:12:53.94\00:12:56.87 'Cause not a whole lot of big venues. 00:12:56.91\00:12:58.24 No, no. 00:12:58.27\00:12:59.61 So anyway, it was a theater where they would do 00:12:59.64\00:13:02.31 public performances in, 00:13:02.34\00:13:03.68 you know, musicians and people 00:13:03.71\00:13:05.51 who will do dance and do drama there. 00:13:05.55\00:13:07.85 So it was a very good place, very nice facility. 00:13:07.88\00:13:11.85 And so in 2001, we went, 00:13:11.89\00:13:13.66 we recorded the evangelistic campaign, 00:13:13.69\00:13:15.16 we couldn't broadcast live, 00:13:15.19\00:13:17.03 'cause it was not allowed that 00:13:17.06\00:13:18.76 back then, and even now. 00:13:18.79\00:13:20.93 So there was no uplink into satellite back then. 00:13:20.96\00:13:23.90 It was recorded, edited, and then bring it back to Cuba. 00:13:23.93\00:13:28.47 So the idea was for every church in Cuba, 00:13:28.50\00:13:31.51 Seventh-day Adventist Church in Cuba 00:13:31.54\00:13:33.01 to have that one week campaign. 00:13:33.04\00:13:34.38 Okay. 00:13:34.41\00:13:35.74 So the Voice of Hope, 00:13:35.78\00:13:37.45 which is called La Voz de La Esperanza. 00:13:37.48\00:13:39.21 Okay. 00:13:39.25\00:13:40.58 They were able to get donations to buy a TV and a VCR. 00:13:40.62\00:13:45.32 That's what they had back then, 00:13:45.35\00:13:47.06 to be able to have the evangelistic campaign. 00:13:47.09\00:13:49.36 And they were told, 00:13:49.39\00:13:50.86 everyone is supposed to participate 00:13:50.89\00:13:52.29 during the same time they advertise with long, 00:13:52.33\00:13:55.96 you know, so that, 00:13:56.00\00:13:57.33 so they would invite people to the churches. 00:13:57.37\00:13:59.87 So every night for one week as from 7 to 8:30 PM, 00:13:59.90\00:14:05.07 they had the evangelistic campaign 00:14:05.11\00:14:07.68 in the year 2000, later on in the year. 00:14:07.71\00:14:10.15 And so, that was our first participation 00:14:10.18\00:14:13.45 in Cuba. 00:14:13.48\00:14:14.82 Now about seven years ago through a letter 00:14:14.85\00:14:19.25 that came to 3ABN, 00:14:19.29\00:14:20.62 because somebody from Cuba 00:14:20.66\00:14:21.99 watched our programming, 00:14:22.02\00:14:23.36 they were visiting United States and they say, 00:14:23.39\00:14:24.73 "Oh, I would love for this to be available in Cuba." 00:14:24.76\00:14:29.90 And I said, "Well, I wonder who this person is." 00:14:29.93\00:14:32.30 So I wrote an email back to him and I said, 00:14:32.33\00:14:34.74 "I would love for this to be in Cuba. 00:14:34.77\00:14:37.14 Do you know how we can get it done?" 00:14:37.17\00:14:40.48 And he said, "Oh, right now it's very, very difficult. 00:14:40.51\00:14:43.88 So, I just don't know." 00:14:43.91\00:14:45.61 It's very difficult in Cuba. 00:14:45.65\00:14:46.98 You know, the situation is, 00:14:47.02\00:14:48.98 doesn't allow for this to happen. 00:14:49.02\00:14:51.02 And I prayed about it, you know, but the Lord 00:14:51.05\00:14:53.56 was kind of preparing the mind 00:14:53.59\00:14:55.56 for what he was about to do 00:14:55.59\00:14:57.33 because we went to an ASI meeting. 00:14:57.36\00:14:59.09 ASI meeting 00:14:59.13\00:15:00.46 is Adventist-laymen's Services and Industries. 00:15:00.50\00:15:03.03 About two months later, we were there. 00:15:03.06\00:15:05.57 And some people from Spain came 00:15:05.60\00:15:08.20 or where they have Adventist services, 00:15:08.24\00:15:12.31 Laymen's Services and Industries in Europe. 00:15:12.34\00:15:15.04 And the president of ASI of Europe told me, 00:15:15.08\00:15:18.91 he was, the president was from Spain at that time. 00:15:18.95\00:15:22.15 He told me that they had recently donated 00:15:22.18\00:15:26.52 so that every church in Cuba and small group, 00:15:26.55\00:15:30.23 because there are many small groups, 00:15:30.26\00:15:32.19 what they call church homes in Cuba, 00:15:32.23\00:15:35.13 was equipped with a TV and a DVD player, 00:15:35.16\00:15:40.54 see not VCR now it's a DVD player 00:15:40.57\00:15:43.00 because we're talking about 2001. 00:15:43.04\00:15:45.34 Now it's about seven years ago. 00:15:45.37\00:15:48.28 So now VHS is not what people are using. 00:15:48.31\00:15:51.45 They were using DVDs. 00:15:51.48\00:15:53.45 So we came up with the idea 00:15:53.48\00:15:56.12 to bring our programming on DVD. 00:15:56.15\00:15:58.55 And the question was, do we make copies here? 00:15:58.59\00:16:02.62 And you're talking about making, 00:16:02.66\00:16:05.09 you know, 1000 copies. 00:16:05.13\00:16:08.63 More than that, because there are more. 00:16:08.66\00:16:10.63 There are over 3000 churches and small groups together. 00:16:10.67\00:16:15.04 You're talking about bringing 3000 CDs on, 00:16:15.07\00:16:17.61 in your luggage to bring to Cuba. 00:16:17.64\00:16:19.21 So our hope was that there was a way 00:16:19.24\00:16:21.28 to duplicate those there. 00:16:21.31\00:16:22.88 So I took a sample of our programming 00:16:22.91\00:16:25.91 about 30 to 40 different types of programming. 00:16:25.95\00:16:29.65 Children's programming, family programming, 00:16:29.68\00:16:32.35 marriage counseling, 00:16:32.39\00:16:33.72 you know, health programs and preaching. 00:16:33.76\00:16:36.26 And I took all of this and brought it 00:16:36.29\00:16:38.79 to the Cuban Union 00:16:38.83\00:16:40.93 of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. 00:16:40.96\00:16:42.30 And I said, I'm looking, I'm here to investigate 00:16:42.33\00:16:44.90 if you have a way to duplicate this here. 00:16:44.93\00:16:50.07 And so, I said, we received a donation 00:16:50.11\00:16:52.37 to be able to do this. 00:16:52.41\00:16:53.74 And so you can, it can be distributed 00:16:53.78\00:16:55.11 to all the churches and small groups. 00:16:55.14\00:16:56.48 Oh, yes, yes we have in the university. 00:16:56.51\00:16:57.88 Yes, yes. 00:16:57.91\00:16:59.25 And they showed me and they said wonderful. 00:16:59.28\00:17:02.08 How about the DVDs? Can you get? 00:17:02.12\00:17:03.49 Yes, you can get DVDs 00:17:03.52\00:17:04.85 for 50 cents very easily in the stores. 00:17:04.89\00:17:07.22 And so that's what we started doing. 00:17:07.26\00:17:08.92 So what does that do? 00:17:08.96\00:17:10.29 That gets our name in the people's minds. 00:17:10.33\00:17:12.56 They can see some of our programming. 00:17:12.59\00:17:14.43 So when the Lord opens the door later, 00:17:14.46\00:17:17.80 then you know, it's easier for us 00:17:17.83\00:17:19.57 because we're already known. 00:17:19.60\00:17:20.94 That was my thought that was, I was working with. 00:17:20.97\00:17:26.54 Fast-forward, we went over there 00:17:26.57\00:17:29.08 and we came with the bold idea 00:17:29.11\00:17:34.38 came to us to 00:17:34.42\00:17:35.75 ask for a TV channel. 00:17:39.55\00:17:41.19 Ask for a TV channel. 00:17:41.22\00:17:42.56 We have a frequency to put on our programming 00:17:42.59\00:17:44.69 and there was a pastor that came to visit us. 00:17:44.73\00:17:47.23 And we told him, I told him about the DVD project 00:17:47.26\00:17:48.86 that we had over there. 00:17:48.90\00:17:50.23 "Oh, why are you doing that? 00:17:50.27\00:17:51.60 He says, I said, 00:17:51.63\00:17:52.97 "Because we need to preach the gospel everywhere. 00:17:53.00\00:17:54.70 And right now Cuba is one of those places 00:17:54.74\00:17:56.60 where 3ABN Latino is not in." 00:17:56.64\00:17:58.97 He said, "You know, do you want a channel in Cuba?" 00:17:59.01\00:18:04.45 I said, "We love to have a TV channel in Cuba." 00:18:04.48\00:18:07.45 I say, "Why do you ask?" Because I know some people. 00:18:07.48\00:18:10.45 I say, "You know some people." 00:18:10.49\00:18:12.09 And so we started talking and so we made the bold request 00:18:12.12\00:18:16.96 to have a TV. 00:18:16.99\00:18:18.33 We went to visit some government people. 00:18:18.36\00:18:20.83 And they said, well, and we gave them 00:18:20.86\00:18:22.33 a sample of our program. 00:18:22.36\00:18:23.70 He says, we'll get back to you. 00:18:23.73\00:18:25.30 And of course later we hear that right now it's not, 00:18:25.33\00:18:27.87 it's not the best of time. 00:18:27.90\00:18:30.01 The idea was not, they're not, they weren't ready for that. 00:18:30.04\00:18:33.21 Got you. 00:18:33.24\00:18:34.58 But this pastor did not let it go. 00:18:34.61\00:18:36.21 You know, a couple of months later, 00:18:36.24\00:18:37.78 three months later, he came back and he says, 00:18:37.81\00:18:39.38 you know, I have another idea. 00:18:39.41\00:18:41.52 The way that people consume television permit right now, 00:18:41.55\00:18:44.02 the best way, 00:18:44.05\00:18:45.39 the most popular way is El Paquete. 00:18:45.42\00:18:49.49 I said, "El Paquete. 00:18:49.52\00:18:50.86 What do you mean?" 00:18:50.89\00:18:52.23 So he explained to me what I explained to you. 00:18:52.26\00:18:54.46 Now this is interesting 00:18:54.50\00:18:55.83 because God is taking something. 00:18:55.86\00:18:59.13 It's fascinating to me. 00:18:59.17\00:19:00.60 God is taking something 00:19:00.64\00:19:02.40 that some people are doing for different reasons. 00:19:02.44\00:19:06.21 Our reason is, we want to get into every city, 00:19:06.24\00:19:08.51 every home to preach the gospel. 00:19:08.54\00:19:10.15 These people are, we want to entertain people. 00:19:10.18\00:19:13.01 These people are, we want to make money. 00:19:13.05\00:19:15.08 So in order for them to make money, 00:19:15.12\00:19:17.59 they have to make themselves, 00:19:17.62\00:19:19.32 they have to bring their product to every city. 00:19:19.35\00:19:22.06 They have to figure out what's the best route. 00:19:22.09\00:19:24.89 What's the best organization 00:19:24.93\00:19:28.06 that they need to bring this every week on time 00:19:28.10\00:19:31.67 to every single city in Cuba, 00:19:31.70\00:19:33.70 they have figured that out already. 00:19:33.74\00:19:35.90 So all we have to do is provide our programming to them. 00:19:35.94\00:19:38.17 Yes. 00:19:38.21\00:19:39.54 And so, the Lord has prepared the way let's say, 00:19:39.57\00:19:43.91 and for us to get approved was another process. 00:19:43.95\00:19:48.55 Wow! 00:19:48.58\00:19:49.92 And I want to hear all about that process too, 00:19:49.95\00:19:52.32 like in terms of what the difficulty was, 00:19:52.35\00:19:54.59 but what difficulties did you face with COVID? 00:19:54.62\00:19:59.36 COVID, you know, from the human perspective, 00:19:59.39\00:20:05.93 we think COVID slowed us down, 00:20:05.97\00:20:08.10 but the Lord has reasons 00:20:08.14\00:20:09.64 for allowing these things to happen. 00:20:09.67\00:20:11.37 We have begun to see some of the reasons. 00:20:11.41\00:20:14.41 Right now, I mean, when we submitted our, 00:20:14.44\00:20:20.18 if we have submitted our programming 00:20:20.22\00:20:23.28 without knowing more details as we did, 00:20:23.32\00:20:26.96 the reception of our programming 00:20:26.99\00:20:29.79 perhaps would not have been as exciting 00:20:29.82\00:20:32.79 and as wow, 00:20:32.83\00:20:34.93 because when we submitted our programming, 00:20:34.96\00:20:37.67 how we would like our programming to be 00:20:37.70\00:20:39.20 on the package, 00:20:39.23\00:20:40.57 they, it was a wow factor in there. 00:20:40.60\00:20:42.94 They were like, wow, this is great. 00:20:42.97\00:20:46.14 It's very well organized, the variety is very good. 00:20:46.17\00:20:49.68 And the programming, 00:20:49.71\00:20:51.05 this is what they said is exquisite. 00:20:51.08\00:20:54.12 I say, wow. 00:20:54.15\00:20:55.48 Praise the Lord. Yeah. 00:20:55.52\00:20:57.05 So we, from the human perspective, 00:20:57.09\00:20:59.79 think that the COVID slowed us down 00:20:59.82\00:21:02.16 by months and months, but the Lord knows why, 00:21:02.19\00:21:05.09 the whys and wherefores and we're going at the speed 00:21:05.13\00:21:09.90 that the Lord allows us to go through. 00:21:09.93\00:21:11.43 Amen. 00:21:11.47\00:21:12.80 And so we think, 00:21:12.83\00:21:15.30 you know, I remember reading in a book 00:21:15.34\00:21:17.87 by Sister Ellen G. White, 00:21:17.91\00:21:19.27 the Lord's purposes do not know haste nor delay. 00:21:19.31\00:21:23.21 So I'm, I am comforted and encouraged by knowing 00:21:23.24\00:21:25.65 that God is in control. 00:21:25.68\00:21:28.22 We're getting on the package. 00:21:28.25\00:21:29.88 And every step that we have taken has been, 00:21:29.92\00:21:33.25 this is good. 00:21:33.29\00:21:36.12 You're doing great. We want this. 00:21:36.16\00:21:39.09 And so, we praise the Lord for that. 00:21:39.13\00:21:42.06 I can give you one example, Pastor Hernell Hernandez, 00:21:42.10\00:21:46.17 Chaplain Hernell Hernandez went in November. 00:21:46.20\00:21:49.37 And when you talk about November, 00:21:49.40\00:21:51.71 we have to, November of 2020, 00:21:51.74\00:21:53.98 you have to understand that from about April, 00:21:54.01\00:21:57.25 there were no flights going to Cuba 00:21:57.28\00:22:00.88 because when COVID started, 00:22:00.92\00:22:02.52 seven people got infected first and then it started to grow. 00:22:02.55\00:22:08.72 So they closed the airport down. 00:22:08.76\00:22:10.73 There was no getting into Cuba and he's been waiting. 00:22:10.76\00:22:14.53 And at first we thought it was okay June 00:22:14.56\00:22:18.13 and no, we can't do in June, July, August, September. 00:22:18.17\00:22:20.77 I mean, every month was like, 00:22:20.80\00:22:22.14 okay, we'll see, we'll see, we'll see. 00:22:22.17\00:22:23.71 And then when they said November 12 on the very day 00:22:23.74\00:22:26.91 that the government said beginning, November 12, 00:22:26.94\00:22:28.51 people can come in. 00:22:28.54\00:22:29.88 He was there. 00:22:29.91\00:22:31.88 And so the process started to, took off again in November 12, 00:22:31.91\00:22:38.45 our programming was brought to them. 00:22:38.49\00:22:40.99 And there were people to talk to still 00:22:41.02\00:22:43.83 that we were not able to talk to in March, 00:22:43.86\00:22:45.76 because I told you we were there 00:22:45.79\00:22:47.13 in March of 2020. 00:22:47.16\00:22:48.50 We actually had to leave early 00:22:48.53\00:22:49.86 because we heard the airports are going to be closing 00:22:49.90\00:22:53.10 either in the US or Cuba. 00:22:53.13\00:22:54.47 It was like, 00:22:54.50\00:22:55.84 and we were meeting with people. 00:22:55.87\00:22:57.71 Now, part of getting on the package, 00:22:57.74\00:22:59.94 you have to understand is the Council of Churches, 00:22:59.97\00:23:02.18 really anything... 00:23:02.21\00:23:03.55 And what is that? 00:23:03.58\00:23:04.91 The Council of Churches, 00:23:04.95\00:23:06.28 anything religious that happens, 00:23:06.31\00:23:08.38 whether it's books, 00:23:08.42\00:23:10.52 whatever it is that has to do with religious activity in 00:23:10.55\00:23:13.36 goes through the Council of Churches. 00:23:13.39\00:23:16.22 Big things have to get approved. 00:23:16.26\00:23:18.23 So the Council of Churches is a... 00:23:18.26\00:23:21.96 has representation from just about 00:23:22.00\00:23:24.53 every single denomination in Cuba. 00:23:24.57\00:23:27.34 They started actually before what you would call 00:23:27.37\00:23:30.21 the Cuban revolution, communist revolution 00:23:30.24\00:23:33.07 that Fidel Castro started. 00:23:33.11\00:23:34.44 So they existed before that. 00:23:34.48\00:23:36.08 And when communism started, 00:23:36.11\00:23:38.68 Fidel Castro looked at the Council of Churches 00:23:38.71\00:23:40.52 and he said, well, these people are, 00:23:40.55\00:23:43.12 they're doing good things that is well-respected. 00:23:43.15\00:23:48.29 So they respected the council of churches. 00:23:48.32\00:23:50.59 So the Council of Churches like I said has representation. 00:23:50.63\00:23:55.10 The Seventh-day Adventist Church 00:23:55.13\00:23:56.46 does not belong to the Council of Churches. 00:23:56.50\00:23:57.83 They can come for the meetings, 00:23:57.87\00:23:59.43 but they're not voting members. 00:23:59.47\00:24:00.80 The Catholic Church is not voting members. 00:24:00.84\00:24:02.37 There are a few churches that are not part of it, 00:24:02.40\00:24:04.11 but the majority 00:24:04.14\00:24:05.47 of the religious denominations are, 00:24:05.51\00:24:08.94 have representation there. 00:24:08.98\00:24:10.31 Okay. 00:24:10.35\00:24:11.68 So for us to be able to get into the package, 00:24:11.71\00:24:13.88 because we're talking about religious programming, 00:24:13.92\00:24:15.55 getting into the package, 00:24:15.58\00:24:17.02 the Council of Churches has to approve it. 00:24:17.05\00:24:19.49 So we had to submit our programming 00:24:19.52\00:24:21.36 to the Council of Churches. 00:24:21.39\00:24:22.96 And the Council of Churches looked at our programming 00:24:22.99\00:24:25.13 and they, it was like, this is wonderful. 00:24:25.16\00:24:28.60 This is what the people in Cuba need. 00:24:28.63\00:24:30.90 This is the stuff they say.
