00:01:41.80\00:01:43.13 What's that about? 00:01:43.16\00:01:44.50 Well, in our lives, 00:01:44.53\00:01:46.23 we often face challenges trials and tribulations. 00:01:46.27\00:01:50.04 I'm a former special Ed student. 00:01:50.07\00:01:52.24 I was labeled Special Ed. 00:01:52.27\00:01:54.21 I was labeled at risk, 00:01:54.24\00:01:55.91 I was labeled a potential minister society. 00:01:55.94\00:01:58.98 I grew up in a loving family. 00:01:59.01\00:02:00.48 I grew up with two mom's, two dad's, 00:02:00.52\00:02:02.82 brothers and sisters on both sides, 00:02:02.85\00:02:04.55 so I grew up in a blended family. 00:02:04.59\00:02:06.35 I've lost a brother to sickle cell anemia 00:02:06.39\00:02:09.36 but I'm still here. 00:02:09.39\00:02:10.79 I've lost a sister to the AIDS virus. 00:02:10.83\00:02:13.16 But I'm still standing. 00:02:13.19\00:02:14.53 My wife and I have lost two babies. 00:02:14.56\00:02:16.60 But we have an awesome 20-year-old son 00:02:16.63\00:02:20.30 named Attorney Qian Jamal Brown. 00:02:20.34\00:02:23.00 Now he is an honor student 00:02:23.04\00:02:25.14 at the Savannah State University, 00:02:25.17\00:02:27.31 so people always say, 00:02:27.34\00:02:28.94 "How is it possible for him to be an attorney 00:02:28.98\00:02:31.55 and still on the undergraduate level?" 00:02:31.58\00:02:33.58 And so I say it sounds like an oxymoron 00:02:33.62\00:02:36.32 but in our family we name it. 00:02:36.35\00:02:38.15 We claim it, and we frame it. 00:02:38.19\00:02:40.09 And so, we call him Attorney Qian Jamal Brown 00:02:40.12\00:02:42.92 now so...With all that, I've been through, 00:02:42.96\00:02:45.06 and all that I've gone through, I'm still standing. 00:02:45.09\00:02:48.16 And so that should let your viewers know 00:02:48.20\00:02:50.47 that all of the impossibilities that they face, 00:02:50.50\00:02:54.50 it is still I'm possible. 00:02:54.54\00:02:56.67 So with him possible, meaning our Lord and savior, 00:02:56.71\00:02:59.67 with Him Possible, I'm possible. 00:02:59.71\00:03:01.81 So as I've traveled the globe over the last 15 years 00:03:01.84\00:03:06.11 spreading this message, 00:03:06.15\00:03:07.78 the listeners in every audience, young people. 00:03:07.82\00:03:11.25 I'm getting tweets every day at KeithLBrown1911, saying, 00:03:11.29\00:03:16.06 "Thank you, Mr. I'm possible." 00:03:16.09\00:03:17.89 So it was birth in me many, many years ago. 00:03:17.93\00:03:21.80 Not impossible, I am possible. 00:03:21.83\00:03:24.37 Yes, yes. 00:03:24.40\00:03:25.73 I love that 00:03:25.77\00:03:27.10 because this is the Dare to Dream Network. 00:03:27.14\00:03:29.17 So we, we want people to know, 00:03:29.20\00:03:32.37 that there is anything is possible with God. 00:03:32.41\00:03:36.01 With God, all things are possible, right? 00:03:36.04\00:03:38.38 All things. 00:03:38.41\00:03:39.75 Let's go back for a minute 00:03:39.78\00:03:41.12 because, you said something that, 00:03:41.15\00:03:43.25 that really piqued my interest. 00:03:43.28\00:03:45.62 You said, that you were labeled a special, special Ed. 00:03:45.65\00:03:50.13 You were labeled a potential menace to society. 00:03:50.16\00:03:54.10 Absolutely. 00:03:54.13\00:03:55.46 What happened? 00:03:55.50\00:03:56.83 Were you, did you have learning disabilities? 00:03:56.87\00:03:58.87 What happened that made you get that label? 00:03:58.90\00:04:02.17 While I was quite hyperactive as I am now. 00:04:02.20\00:04:05.57 And so, I know it was nothing 00:04:05.61\00:04:07.71 but God's plan, it was a foundation. 00:04:07.74\00:04:09.81 I can remember early on in the third grade. 00:04:09.84\00:04:13.25 I can fondly recall and I was in a class of 35. 00:04:13.28\00:04:18.42 And imagine, Yvonne, being in a class of 35. 00:04:18.45\00:04:21.76 And every day, you pulled out 00:04:21.79\00:04:23.32 and you're placed into a class of five. 00:04:23.36\00:04:25.86 And it was at that moment that I thought I was small 00:04:25.89\00:04:28.40 and I thought I was different. 00:04:28.43\00:04:29.96 And I thought nobody cared and nobody understood. 00:04:30.00\00:04:33.00 But God had those angels around me, 00:04:33.03\00:04:35.14 those educators who nurtured me. 00:04:35.17\00:04:37.44 Who told me you're not special Ed 00:04:37.47\00:04:39.37 you're special. 00:04:39.41\00:04:40.74 You're not at risk. 00:04:40.78\00:04:42.11 You are taking risks. 00:04:42.14\00:04:43.48 And so, when you are labeled as I was labeled, 00:04:43.51\00:04:45.95 I always let believers and nonbelievers alike 00:04:45.98\00:04:49.28 know that all labels are not bad labels. 00:04:49.32\00:04:52.05 You see. 00:04:52.09\00:04:53.42 The reason you love your favorite cereal. 00:04:53.46\00:04:55.92 is because it has a label and you are able to read it. 00:04:55.96\00:04:59.73 The reason we have the Dare to Dream Network 00:04:59.76\00:05:02.36 is because I now can read and look you all up 00:05:02.40\00:05:06.30 and get the empowerment that I deserve. 00:05:06.33\00:05:08.67 And so yes, I was labeled special Ed early on 00:05:08.70\00:05:11.57 but how ironic. 00:05:11.61\00:05:13.48 How ironic is it that 00:05:13.51\00:05:15.08 I speak at national and global conferences 00:05:15.11\00:05:18.71 on at risk youth who I call, "Youth at promise." 00:05:18.75\00:05:23.59 So, God was just setting me up. 00:05:23.62\00:05:25.29 I guess you could say every setback is a set up 00:05:25.32\00:05:29.02 for a comeback and so I'm back. 00:05:29.06\00:05:31.06 Yes. 00:05:31.09\00:05:33.13 Absolutely. I love it. 00:05:33.16\00:05:34.50 You have a sayings, I love it. 00:05:34.53\00:05:36.56 So yes, what you went through 00:05:36.60\00:05:40.04 was preparing you for what you are doing now. 00:05:40.07\00:05:43.14 Isn't that amazing how you were before 00:05:43.17\00:05:46.27 labeled "at risk," "special Ed," 00:05:46.31\00:05:49.44 and now, you're talking to others 00:05:49.48\00:05:52.18 who might have had that label on them. 00:05:52.21\00:05:54.45 And you're saying, 00:05:54.48\00:05:55.82 "Look at where God has brought me. 00:05:55.85\00:05:57.75 Look at what God has done in my life." 00:05:57.79\00:05:59.82 So this is, this is a great thing 00:05:59.85\00:06:02.22 that you're doing. 00:06:02.26\00:06:03.59 You are taking your journey 00:06:03.63\00:06:04.96 and you're using that to empower young people. 00:06:04.99\00:06:08.53 What, what do you think 00:06:08.56\00:06:10.80 was one of the most transforming experiences 00:06:10.83\00:06:14.44 that you've had growing up with that, with that label? 00:06:14.47\00:06:18.74 How did you come out of it? 00:06:18.77\00:06:20.71 What was it that brought you 00:06:20.74\00:06:22.94 into a real knowledge of who you are? 00:06:22.98\00:06:25.95 Well, once again, ironically 00:06:25.98\00:06:28.55 the same label is that which transformed my life. 00:06:28.58\00:06:33.62 Because I was born in Savannah, Georgia, 00:06:33.66\00:06:37.83 raised in Jamaica, Queens, New York. 00:06:37.86\00:06:40.00 And so, most of my formative years, 00:06:40.03\00:06:42.40 those years on were spent in Queens, New York, 00:06:42.43\00:06:45.33 where I was a member of the Black Spectrum film 00:06:45.37\00:06:48.17 and theater company. 00:06:48.20\00:06:49.57 And I was a member of the debate team 00:06:49.60\00:06:51.81 at Springfield Gardens High School 00:06:51.84\00:06:53.51 and, I did some athletics 00:06:53.54\00:06:55.31 but I was more of not an athlete 00:06:55.34\00:06:57.95 but I was more of a talker on the field and so... 00:06:57.98\00:07:00.85 Understand that when I was on the debate team 00:07:00.88\00:07:03.49 and when I was in the drama club. 00:07:03.52\00:07:05.35 And when I was on student council 00:07:05.39\00:07:07.26 as a special Ed student, 00:07:07.29\00:07:08.62 and when I was at the Black Spectrum theater, 00:07:08.66\00:07:10.89 it was the same traits 00:07:10.93\00:07:13.86 that I exemplified in the fine arts 00:07:13.90\00:07:17.17 in other areas of my life. 00:07:17.20\00:07:18.53 They got me labeled in the first place. 00:07:18.57\00:07:20.37 The hyper activity. 00:07:20.40\00:07:22.74 Not being able to sit still long enough. 00:07:22.77\00:07:26.27 You understand, and so it actually served 00:07:26.31\00:07:29.84 as a beacon of light in my life 00:07:29.88\00:07:32.05 and that's why audiences hire me today 00:07:32.08\00:07:35.32 on a global level. 00:07:35.35\00:07:36.69 That's why clients hire me today 00:07:36.72\00:07:38.72 because I am relevant, I am engaging, I am Energetic, 00:07:38.75\00:07:43.12 I am hyped, I am loud. 00:07:43.16\00:07:45.19 All of those things that were seen as a problem. 00:07:45.23\00:07:48.10 As a matter of fact, Yvonne, 00:07:48.13\00:07:50.07 if I can share this with your audience, 00:07:50.10\00:07:52.60 I can remember being in preschool. 00:07:52.63\00:07:55.84 And I got my first report card at the age of four years old. 00:07:55.87\00:08:01.21 And I got E's and S's and G's and high marks in everything. 00:08:01.24\00:08:06.85 But I got one in I on that report card, 00:08:06.88\00:08:09.38 it's on my Facebook page, one needs improvement. 00:08:09.42\00:08:12.19 And it was for failure to use indoor tone of voice, 00:08:12.22\00:08:16.06 and guess what? 00:08:16.09\00:08:17.43 I was four years old then I'm 47 now. 00:08:17.46\00:08:20.43 And I still have that same issue. 00:08:20.46\00:08:22.23 As a matter of fact, 00:08:22.26\00:08:23.60 the North Carolina Head start association conference 00:08:23.63\00:08:27.80 was just held in Raleigh, North Carolina, 00:08:27.84\00:08:29.87 about two weeks ago. 00:08:29.90\00:08:31.24 I was the keynote speaker for thousands of individuals 00:08:31.27\00:08:34.21 who empower children in head start. 00:08:34.24\00:08:36.88 And they were just sending tweets 00:08:36.91\00:08:38.31 to Keith Brown1911. 00:08:38.35\00:08:40.25 They kept tweeting me about you're still loud, 00:08:40.28\00:08:42.75 you're still energetic, 00:08:42.78\00:08:44.22 you're still the same way you were as a child. 00:08:44.25\00:08:46.62 And yes, God put that energy in me. 00:08:46.65\00:08:50.13 And so I just want to say to your audience, 00:08:50.16\00:08:52.39 it doesn't matter what man says. 00:08:52.43\00:08:54.10 It's not what you're called 00:08:54.13\00:08:55.56 is what you choose to answer to. 00:08:55.60\00:08:57.50 So man labeled me special Ed, 00:08:57.53\00:08:59.83 the system labeled me special Ed, 00:08:59.87\00:09:02.64 but God labeled me a transformer, 00:09:02.67\00:09:05.44 a servant leader Mr. I'm possible. 00:09:05.47\00:09:08.08 So I'm walking in my gift 00:09:08.11\00:09:09.84 and I encourage your studio audience 00:09:09.88\00:09:11.78 and all of your listeners to do the same. 00:09:11.81\00:09:13.92 Walk in your gift. 00:09:13.95\00:09:15.28 Yes, yes. 00:09:15.32\00:09:16.65 And that's what is the role of purpose in one's life? 00:09:16.69\00:09:21.16 How does purpose play into all of that? 00:09:21.19\00:09:24.06 I'm glad you asked that question, Yvonne, 00:09:24.09\00:09:26.46 because I believe there are two great days 00:09:26.49\00:09:29.13 in your life. 00:09:29.16\00:09:30.50 The day you were born. 00:09:30.53\00:09:32.23 And the day you discover why you were born. 00:09:32.27\00:09:35.30 And the day you discover why you will born, 00:09:35.34\00:09:37.51 that's called purpose. 00:09:37.54\00:09:38.94 That day you discover why you will born, 00:09:38.97\00:09:41.61 you live on a mission and not in intermission. 00:09:41.64\00:09:45.11 The day you discover why you were born, 00:09:45.15\00:09:47.75 you leap out of bed every single day 00:09:47.78\00:09:51.25 understanding you're going to have 00:09:51.29\00:09:52.75 trials and tribulations. 00:09:52.79\00:09:54.22 But I say this to you, 00:09:54.26\00:09:55.59 and I say this to all of you listeners, 00:09:55.62\00:09:58.03 being that you're going to have 00:09:58.06\00:09:59.39 trials and tribulations every day. 00:09:59.43\00:10:01.53 The moment you stand up out of bed, 00:10:01.56\00:10:03.53 just start clapping. 00:10:03.57\00:10:04.90 And people say, "Why should I start clapping?" 00:10:04.93\00:10:07.10 And I say, "It might be the only standing ovation 00:10:07.14\00:10:10.07 you receive all day." 00:10:10.11\00:10:11.81 So, if you can wake up, thanking God, 00:10:11.84\00:10:13.81 if you can wake up in expectancy. 00:10:13.84\00:10:15.84 If you can wake up, and applaud yourself 00:10:15.88\00:10:17.88 and go out and live, 00:10:17.91\00:10:19.31 and live your authentic purpose. 00:10:19.35\00:10:21.88 I always say your purpose is your "why." 00:10:21.92\00:10:24.59 And your "why" should make you cry. 00:10:24.62\00:10:26.59 And when I think about all of those 00:10:26.62\00:10:28.62 I've been called to liberate. 00:10:28.66\00:10:29.99 I cry, I' am humbled by that. 00:10:30.03\00:10:32.49 But I walk in my why, I walk in my purpose, 00:10:32.53\00:10:35.83 and let me say this, 00:10:35.86\00:10:37.27 you must walk in your purpose with passion. 00:10:37.30\00:10:40.44 And if we break the word passion down, 00:10:40.47\00:10:42.80 It is P-A-S-S-I-O-N. 00:10:42.84\00:10:46.51 that simply means. 00:10:46.54\00:10:47.94 Pass- I-On. 00:10:47.98\00:10:50.28 Whoever you are, 00:10:50.31\00:10:51.65 you're passing that on to others. 00:10:51.68\00:10:53.35 Whatever you do, you're passing it on to others. 00:10:53.38\00:10:56.08 So purpose plays a vital role 00:10:56.12\00:10:58.89 because when one knows his or her purpose, 00:10:58.92\00:11:01.52 that's when you can step out on faith. 00:11:01.56\00:11:03.63 And that's when you can walk in faith. 00:11:03.66\00:11:05.53 And when you're walking in faith, 00:11:05.56\00:11:07.26 you're not relying on you, 00:11:07.30\00:11:09.00 you're relying on the God in you. 00:11:09.03\00:11:10.80 And when you rely on the God in you, 00:11:10.83\00:11:13.30 it's hard to lose 00:11:13.34\00:11:14.67 when you are convinced you've already won. 00:11:14.70\00:11:16.30 I'm possible. 00:11:16.34\00:11:17.67 All right, all right. 00:11:17.71\00:11:19.04 So how did you discover your purpose? 00:11:19.07\00:11:21.71 Early on, early on. 00:11:21.74\00:11:23.65 I was put in special Ed because I talk too much. 00:11:23.68\00:11:26.38 My third grade teacher said, 00:11:26.41\00:11:28.08 "Keith L. Brown, you talk too much." 00:11:28.12\00:11:30.25 And Yvonne, now I get paid to talk. 00:11:30.29\00:11:31.99 Isn't that something? 00:11:32.02\00:11:33.46 Isn't that something? 00:11:33.49\00:11:34.82 I can, I can remember being at family functions 00:11:34.86\00:11:38.89 and my siblings would say, "Keith, stop showing off." 00:11:38.93\00:11:42.03 "Keith, you talk too much." 00:11:42.06\00:11:43.67 I can remember being in church 00:11:43.70\00:11:45.90 and I was always the first one who did the Easter speech. 00:11:45.93\00:11:49.07 When they called on someone, 00:11:49.10\00:11:50.71 I jumped up to go do my Easter speech. 00:11:50.74\00:11:53.31 I can just recall, Yvonne, wherever I was, I was talking. 00:11:53.34\00:11:57.15 When I was in middle school, 00:11:57.18\00:11:58.51 and I was in special Ed in Queens, New York, 00:11:58.55\00:12:00.88 I still won the city-wide Speak Out contest. 00:12:00.92\00:12:05.05 When I was in high school, in special Ed, 00:12:05.09\00:12:07.52 I was still reciting speeches by Abraham Lincoln, 00:12:07.56\00:12:10.86 Dr Martin Luther King Jr., John F. Kennedy. 00:12:10.89\00:12:13.90 So, imagine that. 00:12:13.93\00:12:16.06 All of this time 00:12:16.10\00:12:17.47 I've still been walking in my gift. 00:12:17.50\00:12:19.33 I've still been walking in my purpose. 00:12:19.37\00:12:21.70 And God use that now to have me be a liberator 00:12:21.74\00:12:26.34 of so many hundreds of thousands like me, 00:12:26.37\00:12:30.31 who have been labeled. 00:12:30.35\00:12:31.68 So I say with boldness, "Not impossible, I'm Possible." 00:12:31.71\00:12:36.25 And can I say this? 00:12:36.28\00:12:37.62 You know the difference between impossible And I'm possible? 00:12:37.65\00:12:41.59 An apostrophe. 00:12:41.62\00:12:43.53 Something as small as an apostrophe. 00:12:43.56\00:12:46.06 If you take that apostrophe 00:12:46.09\00:12:48.13 and you put it between the I and the M, 00:12:48.16\00:12:51.20 then impossible becomes I'm possible. 00:12:51.23\00:12:53.80 So what am I saying to your listeners today? 00:12:53.84\00:12:56.30 Take those little things in your life. 00:12:56.34\00:12:58.77 Perhaps, you need to pray a little more. 00:12:58.81\00:13:01.44 Perhaps, you need to be more committed. 00:13:01.48\00:13:03.95 Perhaps, you need to amp up your passion. 00:13:03.98\00:13:06.95 Perhaps, you just need to spend more time 00:13:06.98\00:13:10.02 working on your gift 00:13:10.05\00:13:12.45 and less time buying gifts for yourself. 00:13:12.49\00:13:14.79 How about that? 00:13:14.82\00:13:16.16 It is so real. 00:13:16.19\00:13:18.13 This is not rocket science, it's real, it's I'm Possible. 00:13:18.16\00:13:21.76 Right, right. 00:13:21.80\00:13:23.13 So essentially then you're saying that 00:13:23.16\00:13:25.77 you discovered your purpose 00:13:25.80\00:13:28.37 by actually kind of honing in to your passion. 00:13:28.40\00:13:33.24 Absolutely. 00:13:33.27\00:13:34.61 Your passion was speaking and, and, 00:13:34.64\00:13:38.31 and it also sounds like your passion, 00:13:38.35\00:13:40.35 your passion is building people up. 00:13:40.38\00:13:43.35 You have a... it seems that you have a gift 00:13:43.39\00:13:46.02 for empowering people, 00:13:46.05\00:13:48.22 making them feel good about themselves 00:13:48.26\00:13:50.36 and about their destiny. 00:13:50.39\00:13:52.39 Is...how do you help others 00:13:52.43\00:13:55.26 to discover their purpose and their passion? 00:13:55.30\00:13:58.97 Every day I wake up, when I meet individuals, 00:13:59.00\00:14:02.17 I treat them like I'm meeting them 00:14:02.20\00:14:03.81 for the first time or the last time. 00:14:03.84\00:14:06.44 Because it could be. 00:14:06.47\00:14:07.84 And if I treat them 00:14:07.88\00:14:09.21 as if I'm meeting them for the first time. 00:14:09.24\00:14:11.25 I'm definitely going to be polite, 00:14:11.28\00:14:13.75 I'm going to be kind, 00:14:13.78\00:14:15.12 I'm going to be full of purpose. 00:14:15.15\00:14:16.99 If I'm treating them 00:14:17.02\00:14:18.35 like I'm meeting them for the last time, 00:14:18.39\00:14:20.16 I'm going to have those same qualities. 00:14:20.19\00:14:22.79 So it is my goal, my duty, my purpose 00:14:22.82\00:14:26.76 to uplift each and every day. 00:14:26.80\00:14:28.63 I always say, "I'm lifting as I climb." 00:14:28.66\00:14:31.00 And Yvonne, I do that 00:14:31.03\00:14:32.60 through the I'm Possible institute 00:14:32.63\00:14:35.10 that's located right here in the Metro Atlanta area, 00:14:35.14\00:14:38.27 the I'm Possible institute where we help individuals 00:14:38.31\00:14:42.28 enhance their impact and their influence. 00:14:42.31\00:14:45.95 Increase their intensity and their income, 00:14:45.98\00:14:48.95 not income to use for selfish reasons 00:14:48.98\00:14:51.55 but income to put back in the community, 00:14:51.59\00:14:54.36 to uplift others. 00:14:54.39\00:14:55.89 I always say 00:14:55.92\00:14:57.46 that I was just called to be a servant leader 00:14:57.49\00:14:59.93 who gives back. 00:14:59.96\00:15:01.53 What greater testimony. 00:15:01.56\00:15:04.80 What greater testimony can I give you today? 00:15:04.83\00:15:08.60 But to uplift mankind and humankind, 00:15:08.64\00:15:12.27 I always say that, we were born human 00:15:12.31\00:15:14.84 but it takes effort to be humane. 00:15:14.88\00:15:17.11 And so God made me human and so I live every day humane. 00:15:17.15\00:15:21.18 The I'm Possible institute 00:15:21.22\00:15:22.92 where I train and I coach individuals 00:15:22.95\00:15:25.85 to reach they have maximum potential 00:15:25.89\00:15:28.46 and so I do back each and every day. 00:15:28.49\00:15:30.43 Give us an idea as to what... 00:15:30.46\00:15:33.80 let's come to the I'm Possible institute. 00:15:33.83\00:15:36.33 First of all, what ages do you serve? 00:15:36.36\00:15:38.80 And then, how do you take them from not knowing 00:15:38.83\00:15:43.10 who they are and where they're going 00:15:43.14\00:15:45.34 to having their sense of purpose? 00:15:45.37\00:15:47.51 What's a typical kind of day in the I'm Possible institute 00:15:47.54\00:15:51.71 and who do you serve? 00:15:51.75\00:15:53.08 Absolutely. 00:15:53.11\00:15:54.58 We serve primarily adults in the I'm Possible institute, 00:15:54.62\00:15:57.89 but we also serve young people, young scholars, young leaders 00:15:57.92\00:16:02.39 like the South Fulton Arrow youth counsel, 00:16:02.42\00:16:04.76 for example, that the organization 00:16:04.79\00:16:06.70 that I work with them. 00:16:06.73\00:16:08.10 Young servant leaders, the Omega Mentoring Project, 00:16:08.13\00:16:11.80 we work with them through the I'm Possible institute. 00:16:11.83\00:16:14.37 These young people of purpose, these young people of passion. 00:16:14.40\00:16:17.94 And when we serve the adults, we work primarily with adults 00:16:17.97\00:16:22.34 in boot camps and VIP days 00:16:22.38\00:16:25.28 who want to be effective communicators, Yvonne, 00:16:25.31\00:16:28.28 who want to connect more with the next generation, 00:16:28.32\00:16:32.05 who want to be relevant and live relevant lives. 00:16:32.09\00:16:35.22 And so we coach them on being effective communicators. 00:16:35.26\00:16:38.49 We coach them on being 00:16:38.53\00:16:40.23 kingdom builders and entrepreneurs. 00:16:40.26\00:16:43.97 So you said that you teach them to be 00:16:44.00\00:16:46.33 kingdom builders and entrepreneurs. 00:16:46.37\00:16:48.90 Do you include faith and any of this teaching? 00:16:48.94\00:16:53.38 Is this is this mostly about financial literacy or what? 00:16:53.41\00:16:58.45 No, it's actually universal. 00:16:58.48\00:17:00.98 We have seminars on faith 00:17:01.02\00:17:03.25 that are more geared towards faith. 00:17:03.28\00:17:05.05 We have seminars for one purpose and empowerment. 00:17:05.09\00:17:08.52 We have seminars on how to be an effective communicator. 00:17:08.56\00:17:11.93 So, it's actually a universal sense 00:17:11.96\00:17:15.56 of building the entire person the whole purpose. 00:17:15.60\00:17:18.93 The whole purpose of the I'm Possible institute, 00:17:18.97\00:17:21.17 is to build a legacy, to build a legacy. 00:17:21.20\00:17:24.07 And we do that through the seminars, 00:17:24.11\00:17:26.81 through the teachings, 00:17:26.84\00:17:28.18 through coaching and via training 00:17:28.21\00:17:29.74 because we all know. 00:17:29.78\00:17:31.61 People say talk is cheap, but no, talk is not cheap. 00:17:31.65\00:17:35.05 Okay, talk is expensive, all right? 00:17:35.08\00:17:38.59 Because when you can spread the word of God, 00:17:38.62\00:17:41.12 and you can bring souls to Christ, that's expensive. 00:17:41.16\00:17:44.79 What Christ did for us is expensive, it costs. 00:17:44.83\00:17:48.33 So know people always say, 00:17:48.36\00:17:49.96 "Actions speak louder than words," 00:17:50.00\00:17:51.73 and that's true. 00:17:51.77\00:17:53.10 Actions speak louder than words 00:17:53.13\00:17:55.00 but it is words that move people to action. 00:17:55.04\00:17:57.87 And so I'm very cognizant 00:17:57.91\00:18:00.28 that when I'm standing before an audience of 10 or 10,000, 00:18:00.31\00:18:05.18 that I am going to be held accountable 00:18:05.21\00:18:07.72 for the message that I put forth. 00:18:07.75\00:18:10.22 And so, as Mr. I' am Possible, 00:18:10.25\00:18:12.39 I'm dealing with the whole I'm Possible message. 00:18:12.42\00:18:15.29 I want those individuals to walk out of that room 00:18:15.32\00:18:18.43 feeling empowered and ignited 00:18:18.46\00:18:20.90 not just motivated but inspired. 00:18:20.93\00:18:23.37 You know, people say motivation doesn't last. 00:18:23.40\00:18:26.17 And I say, "You're right motivation doesn't last, 00:18:26.20\00:18:28.84 and neither does taking a bath, that's why we do it every day." 00:18:28.87\00:18:31.77 And so you got to be motivated every single day 00:18:31.81\00:18:35.54 and then my goal is that you are inspired, 00:18:35.58\00:18:38.08 because when you're inspired, then you take action. 00:18:38.11\00:18:41.02 And so, that's the crux of the whole I'm Possible message, 00:18:41.05\00:18:44.92 that not impossible, I'm Possible message. 00:18:44.95\00:18:47.72 And we believe in saying that every day. 00:18:47.76\00:18:49.79 We believe in using repetition 00:18:49.82\00:18:51.86 because we hear a lot of negativity in society. 00:18:51.89\00:18:55.23 So we want to flip the script, we want to change the paradigm. 00:18:55.26\00:18:58.93 And we have the power to do that as people of faith. 00:18:58.97\00:19:02.17 Oh, that's great. 00:19:02.20\00:19:03.84 What would you say is a reason because you've used this phrase 00:19:03.87\00:19:08.08 a couple of times since we've been talking, "servant leader?" 00:19:08.11\00:19:11.05 Yes. 00:19:11.08\00:19:12.41 What is the importance 00:19:12.45\00:19:13.78 of a servant leader in today's society? 00:19:13.82\00:19:16.42 The servant leader is what we should all seek to be. 00:19:16.45\00:19:20.16 The servant leader is one 00:19:20.19\00:19:21.79 who lifts individuals who lives, 00:19:21.82\00:19:25.19 first of all you, must lift yourself. 00:19:25.23\00:19:27.30 And you must validate yourself every day. 00:19:27.33\00:19:29.43 And I want to give your listeners 00:19:29.46\00:19:30.80 four affirmations to do that. 00:19:30.83\00:19:32.67 "I love myself. I believe in myself. 00:19:32.70\00:19:37.17 I'm proud of myself. 00:19:37.21\00:19:39.37 And I'm a genius. 00:19:39.41\00:19:41.08 I love myself. 00:19:41.11\00:19:42.84 I believe in myself. 00:19:42.88\00:19:44.55 I'm proud of myself. 00:19:44.58\00:19:46.15 And I'm a genius." 00:19:46.18\00:19:47.52 And quite often, Yvonne, young people will say. 00:19:47.55\00:19:50.65 "Well, Mr. Brown, what do you mean, 00:19:50.69\00:19:52.22 when you say I'm a genius?" 00:19:52.25\00:19:53.86 And I say, "There's a gene in us. 00:19:53.89\00:19:56.36 And that gene is call greatness, 00:19:56.39\00:19:58.49 and God placed it in us. 00:19:58.53\00:20:00.20 And all we have to do is 00:20:00.23\00:20:01.56 nurture that and water that", 00:20:01.60\00:20:03.30 and when we say those four affirmations, 00:20:03.33\00:20:05.87 we can then serve others, that's the bottom-line, 00:20:05.90\00:20:08.84 that we all call to serve. 00:20:08.87\00:20:11.34 And as servant leaders, it goes together. 00:20:11.37\00:20:13.84 It goes together. A servant leader, it's innate. 00:20:13.88\00:20:17.65 It takes effort to be hateful. 00:20:17.68\00:20:19.65 It takes effort not to uplift each other. 00:20:19.68\00:20:22.28 It takes effort not to speak to people. 00:20:22.32\00:20:24.92 Service is innate in you. 00:20:24.95\00:20:27.49 Christ was the greatest servant leader of them all. 00:20:27.52\00:20:30.93 And we are a descendant, and descendants of him. 00:20:30.96\00:20:35.46 So how can we not be anything but servant leaders? 00:20:35.50\00:20:39.13 That's what we were call to be. 00:20:39.17\00:20:40.67 So when you say... 00:20:40.70\00:20:42.10 because some people might feel uncomfortable, 00:20:42.14\00:20:44.17 "I'm proud of me. 00:20:44.21\00:20:45.64 I believe in me." 00:20:45.67\00:20:47.01 You're not saying to the exclusion of God. 00:20:47.04\00:20:50.01 You're saying that 00:20:50.05\00:20:51.98 this is about self confidence, not about pride. 00:20:52.01\00:20:55.05 Absolutely, absolutely. 00:20:55.08\00:20:57.32 It's about confidence, not arrogance. 00:20:57.35\00:21:00.36 Not about being conceited, it's about being convinced. 00:21:00.39\00:21:03.22 It's about being convinced 00:21:03.26\00:21:04.99 that you were created for a purpose. 00:21:05.03\00:21:08.76 You were created to spread the message. 00:21:08.80\00:21:12.23 You were created to be missionaries. 00:21:12.27\00:21:14.47 You were created to ride on those ships. 00:21:14.50\00:21:17.07 One of those ships sailing on those ships like leadership, 00:21:17.11\00:21:21.18 and stewardship, and discipleship. 00:21:21.21\00:21:24.61 And forming partnerships, 00:21:24.65\00:21:26.38 and daring to dream in your friendships, 00:21:26.41\00:21:29.25 in your relationships. 00:21:29.28\00:21:30.72 And then you can reduce some of the hardships. 00:21:30.75\00:21:32.95 So we must understand that 00:21:32.99\00:21:35.16 God does not mind us edifying ourselves. 00:21:35.19\00:21:37.99 We just can't deify ourselves, 00:21:38.03\00:21:40.20 that we can definitely edify ourselves 00:21:40.23\00:21:42.46 and that's what the not impossible, 00:21:42.50\00:21:44.77 I'm Possible message is all about. 00:21:44.80\00:21:47.14 Not deification but definitely edification. 00:21:47.17\00:21:50.27 We must do that as we come against 00:21:50.31\00:21:52.67 so many negative forces in society today. 00:21:52.71\00:21:56.75 That's great. 00:21:56.78\00:21:58.11 What would you say have been some of the biggest challenges 00:21:58.15\00:22:01.28 that you have faced in trying to get this message out? 00:22:01.32\00:22:05.55 Some of the biggest challenges I have faced is, 00:22:05.59\00:22:08.29 we live in a generation that often thrives 00:22:08.32\00:22:12.23 and survives off of negative messages. 00:22:12.26\00:22:15.26 We see those negative messages on television 00:22:15.30\00:22:18.53 and primarily reality TV. 00:22:18.57\00:22:20.84 And when I'm talking to scholars across the world, 00:22:20.87\00:22:23.97 I don't say students, I say scholars, 00:22:24.01\00:22:25.94 because anybody can be a student 00:22:25.97\00:22:27.88 but it takes effort to be a scholar. 00:22:27.91\00:22:29.88 And so when I'm talking to these young people 00:22:29.91\00:22:31.71 and families, I remind them, 00:22:31.75\00:22:33.52 the reason you see those negative images on television 00:22:33.55\00:22:36.55 and the reason they call it television 00:22:36.58\00:22:38.55 is its telling of vision it wants you to see 00:22:38.59\00:22:41.42 but it's not real. 00:22:41.46\00:22:42.89 Many times, Yvonne, we live in the R-E-E-L 00:22:42.92\00:22:46.56 and we should be living in the R-E-A-L. 00:22:46.59\00:22:49.26 A lot of times our message, the positive gets swapped 00:22:49.30\00:22:54.07 and the positive gets eradicated 00:22:54.10\00:22:56.20 and cast aside because people love drama. 00:22:56.24\00:23:00.18 People love the negative messages. 00:23:00.21\00:23:02.54 Too much positive and they feel uncomfortable. 00:23:02.58\00:23:05.31 And so those have been my biggest challenges, 00:23:05.35\00:23:07.98 to shift the paradigm, to shift the conversation, 00:23:08.02\00:23:11.85 from impossible to I'm possible, 00:23:11.89\00:23:14.26 so those have been some of the biggest challenges, 00:23:14.29\00:23:16.86 just changing the mindset of individuals. 00:23:16.89\00:23:19.89 Because you see it every day on social media. 00:23:19.93\00:23:22.46 What has the most likes?
