Exactly... exactly... 00:07:08.72\00:07:12.36 and that's so true... you know God gives us the... 00:07:12.39\00:07:15.96 the Bible says in the book of Deuteronomy... 00:07:16.00\00:07:17.47 that His Commandments are for life... 00:07:17.50\00:07:20.44 so, the Commandments and Laws, many times we look at God 00:07:20.47\00:07:23.27 like He's Godzilla... you know, and if we don't do what God says 00:07:23.30\00:07:26.11 then we're going to get zapped, He's going to come and bite us 00:07:26.14\00:07:28.91 or we kind of look at this God as a "Zapping God" 00:07:28.94\00:07:31.45 rather than realizing that what God has given us 00:07:31.48\00:07:33.92 is for our own benefit... you know, again each Commandment 00:07:33.95\00:07:36.89 every law that God gives... even Laws that He's given 00:07:36.92\00:07:39.39 that governs our bodies... if we follow with His laws... 00:07:39.45\00:07:42.16 the body in essence... reacts... in a healthy way... 00:07:42.19\00:07:44.86 if we work out... what happens? 00:07:44.89\00:07:46.66 We start looking, getting a little buff, 00:07:46.70\00:07:48.73 you know what I'm saying... we start getting fit... 00:07:48.76\00:07:50.80 and so, everything again... the things that He's given us 00:07:50.83\00:07:52.83 the Laws of Life, the Laws of His Word, 00:07:52.87\00:07:54.74 are only for our benefit... that's the blessing... 00:07:54.77\00:07:57.67 There are real... 00:07:57.71\00:07:59.74 there are bad things in the world... 00:07:59.77\00:08:01.71 there's real evil in the world, 00:08:01.74\00:08:03.31 there are real diseases in the world, 00:08:03.35\00:08:05.65 so if God is loving, and God is a father, 00:08:05.68\00:08:07.72 then, He's going to want to protect us 00:08:07.75\00:08:09.42 from these things and like you said, 00:08:09.45\00:08:11.05 "The Commandments are that protective barrier" 00:08:11.09\00:08:13.46 the moral and the physical elements... 00:08:13.49\00:08:15.66 Amen... Amen... 00:08:15.69\00:08:17.03 Now, have you done this 28-day challenge before 00:08:17.06\00:08:19.79 have you done a challenge similar to this or... 00:08:19.83\00:08:22.66 We actually have... believe it or not... 00:08:22.70\00:08:25.37 I've actually been having restaurants 00:08:25.40\00:08:28.00 for the last 7 or 8 years... and then those experiences... 00:08:28.04\00:08:31.81 we have been able to run those Programs in our restaurant... 00:08:31.84\00:08:35.58 I've been able to do it in a personal level 00:08:35.61\00:08:37.51 to give you a success story, there was a lady 00:08:37.55\00:08:39.71 who was actually... who was on our Program... 00:08:39.75\00:08:42.08 she lived in D.C. and she didn't know anything 00:08:42.15\00:08:44.49 about eating healthy... she actually had a very 00:08:44.52\00:08:47.16 sedentary lifestyle... she was really overweight... 00:08:47.19\00:08:49.76 she had a skin disease called Eczema... 00:08:49.79\00:08:52.46 and believe it or not... she was in our Program 00:08:52.49\00:08:54.56 a little longer than 28 days but pretty much 00:08:54.63\00:08:57.67 in about 40 days... she lost almost 40 pounds... 00:08:57.70\00:09:00.67 it was amazing to see the progress that she had... 00:09:00.70\00:09:03.67 her skin began clearing up, I mean, she began to... 00:09:03.71\00:09:06.61 she was a Christian as well... 00:09:06.64\00:09:07.98 she was drawing closer to the Lord... 00:09:08.01\00:09:09.34 and I ended up moving away... so I didn't get to stay with her 00:09:09.38\00:09:13.15 longer than those 40 days... but the Lord really, really made 00:09:13.18\00:09:17.09 tremendous impact in her life... and so... 00:09:17.12\00:09:20.22 I mean, I have tons of success stories that God has done 00:09:20.26\00:09:22.76 similar to that... but it really does work, man... 00:09:22.79\00:09:24.29 it really does work... 00:09:24.36\00:09:25.73 So, you mean, you can take a person 00:09:25.76\00:09:27.50 that eats a little unhealthy maybe like steak... 00:09:27.56\00:09:32.57 maybe likes some chicken, maybe likes some French fries, 00:09:32.60\00:09:35.20 some ice cream at midnight, you know... something like that 00:09:35.24\00:09:38.01 and you can transform that diet like that 00:09:38.04\00:09:42.51 and with good food? Yes... 00:09:42.54\00:09:43.88 yes, you'd better believe it... I'll give you another story... 00:09:43.91\00:09:45.51 a lady... she was a doctor... 00:09:45.55\00:09:46.88 she was a doctor and she was a lawyer... 00:09:46.92\00:09:49.38 it's pretty interesting... she was a very educated woman 00:09:49.42\00:09:51.99 she worked also, in the DC-Maryland area... 00:09:52.02\00:09:54.42 and believe it or not... she actually had read some books 00:09:54.46\00:09:57.89 about eating a plant-based diet, 00:09:57.93\00:09:59.26 she didn't know how to make the transition, so... 00:09:59.29\00:10:01.36 she got in contact with me... we started working with her... 00:10:01.40\00:10:04.70 and amazingly, literally, 00:10:04.73\00:10:06.07 she had a disease where she was actually taking 00:10:06.10\00:10:08.84 a lot of... it's a kind of medication called Prednisone... 00:10:08.87\00:10:12.01 and the Prednisone was causing her to gain weight, 00:10:12.04\00:10:14.44 believe it or not, and within... literally... 00:10:14.48\00:10:16.81 again, it wasn't the 28 days... it was a little longer than that 00:10:16.85\00:10:19.35 she stuck with it for almost 2 or 3 months 00:10:19.38\00:10:21.08 by just changed her lifestyle within a few months... 00:10:21.15\00:10:23.85 she literally saw... she lost about 30 pounds... 00:10:23.89\00:10:26.39 she came off 90 percent of her medication... 00:10:26.42\00:10:28.89 she's found that... when she started eating... 00:10:28.92\00:10:30.99 the things that she wasn't supposed to eat... 00:10:31.06\00:10:33.09 because she would find her joints would begin 00:10:33.13\00:10:34.86 swelling again... and so she realized 00:10:34.93\00:10:36.90 as a Physician and understanding that... 00:10:36.97\00:10:38.90 she said, she saw quantitative and qualitative results... 00:10:38.93\00:10:42.24 as a result of changing her lifestyle going on a plant-based 00:10:42.27\00:10:45.51 lifestyle... and so, I say, 00:10:45.57\00:10:47.54 "Look, I've seen it... I've tasted it... it works... Burger King... I like that... 00:12:26.21\00:12:28.34 It was always Burger King... 00:12:28.38\00:12:29.71 but, actually, I found out about health at a young age... 00:12:29.74\00:12:33.48 so at 17-years-old, I became a Vegan Vegetarian 00:12:33.52\00:12:37.12 and then, I went to do some things 00:12:37.15\00:12:39.29 left that lifestyle... and I got back in... 00:12:39.32\00:12:41.09 so I haven't been eating healthy always... 00:12:41.12\00:12:43.63 but as I was growing up my mom always fed us 00:12:43.66\00:12:46.06 meat protein... and she always fed us vegetarian meals 00:12:46.09\00:12:49.70 and so, one day we might have fried chicken 00:12:49.73\00:12:52.57 but then the next day we might have... 00:12:52.60\00:12:53.97 just an all vegetarian meal 00:12:54.00\00:12:55.60 and so, I had that balance, 00:12:55.64\00:12:57.21 and so it was an easy transition when I got older... 00:12:57.24\00:13:00.71 Mine was kind of similar but not exactly the same, 00:13:00.74\00:13:04.05 I grew up around a family, 00:13:04.08\00:13:05.65 my uncles and my aunts were vegetarians 00:13:05.68\00:13:07.32 but my family... man, oh man, 00:13:07.35\00:13:09.75 "give me the fried chicken" 00:13:09.78\00:13:12.12 you know what I'm saying... fried chicken... barbeque sauce 00:13:12.15\00:13:14.32 my nose is sweating... I'm dipping...
