The Holy Bible. 00:01:34.10\00:01:36.03 That's right. That's right. 00:01:36.06\00:01:37.43 And it's found in Acts 20. Can we all say that, Acts 20... 00:01:37.46\00:01:41.02 Acts 20:35 "It is more blessed to give..." 00:01:41.05\00:01:48.86 "It is more blessed to give..." 00:01:48.89\00:01:52.14 "Than to receive." "Than to receive." 00:01:52.17\00:01:57.48 We are gonna talk about another wonderful country. 00:01:57.51\00:02:01.39 And it starts with T. 00:02:01.42\00:02:04.38 Can you all think of a country that starts with T? 00:02:04.41\00:02:08.04 And it is goes thai-- Thailand. 00:02:08.07\00:02:13.24 That's right. 00:02:13.27\00:02:15.01 And Auntie Linda asked Miss Cinda 00:02:15.04\00:02:17.25 to tell us a story from there. 00:02:17.28\00:02:19.50 I'm so excited. We get to hear a story. 00:02:19.53\00:02:23.18 Do you know how they say, "hi" in Thailand? 00:02:23.21\00:02:26.53 They go "Sawadee Ka." 00:02:26.56\00:02:29.59 Can you all do that? 00:02:29.62\00:02:30.99 Let's see. Go like this. 00:02:31.02\00:02:32.58 "Sawadee Ka." "Sawadee ka." 00:02:32.61\00:02:37.61 Well, over in Thailand, deep in the jungles of Thailand, 00:02:37.64\00:02:43.93 there lives a tribe called the Karen tribe. 00:02:43.96\00:02:48.58 And missionary went over to the mission school. 00:02:48.61\00:02:55.19 There is a mission school over in BongTi, 00:02:55.22\00:02:58.65 Thailand called the bamboo school. 00:02:58.68\00:03:02.25 The bamboo school. About eating bamboo? 00:03:02.28\00:03:05.72 Well, there's a lot of bamboo that grows around there. Wow. 00:03:05.75\00:03:09.91 And the bamboo school in BongTi, 00:03:09.94\00:03:13.26 there's no running water and no electricity. 00:03:13.29\00:03:18.10 You mean, I can't go to the faucet 00:03:18.13\00:03:19.65 and turn it in on and water won't come out? 00:03:19.68\00:03:21.42 No. And the people are very, very poor. 00:03:21.45\00:03:26.29 They have gardens and they raise their own food. 00:03:26.32\00:03:32.80 And there is a little girl that came 00:03:32.83\00:03:36.47 to the bamboo school to learn English. 00:03:36.50\00:03:39.09 And she was only 6 years old. Oh, wow. 00:03:39.12\00:03:44.43 And it was gonna be her birthday. 00:03:44.46\00:03:47.55 Oh, I love birthdays. Who likes birthdays? 00:03:47.58\00:03:49.95 Me. My birthday already passed. 00:03:49.98\00:03:53.42 It did? 00:03:53.45\00:03:54.82 Well, it was gonna be her birthday. 00:03:54.85\00:03:56.37 So she wanted all the mission kids 00:03:56.40\00:04:00.07 and the five missionary teachers to come to her birthday party. 00:04:00.10\00:04:05.99 Oh, I'd like to the birthday parties. 00:04:06.02\00:04:08.13 Me too. And so she said, 00:04:08.16\00:04:10.68 "Will you all please come to my birthday party." 00:04:10.71\00:04:13.64 And so they all came over to her bamboo hut. 00:04:13.67\00:04:19.56 And she lived in a hut. It's a house made out of bamboo 00:04:19.59\00:04:23.94 and it's on big tall stilts. 00:04:23.97\00:04:27.62 And so you have to get a ladder and you've to climb, 00:04:27.65\00:04:31.33 climb, climb up to get into their house. 00:04:31.36\00:04:34.14 Do snakes come in the house? Yes, they can. 00:04:34.17\00:04:37.40 Oh, wow. And they crawl up. 00:04:37.43\00:04:42.48 And the students crawled up the ladder 00:04:42.51\00:04:47.80 and the five missionaries crawled up the ladder 00:04:47.83\00:04:51.60 and they sat in the house 'cause the house was very small. 00:04:51.63\00:04:56.26 And she'd invited all of them to come 00:04:56.29\00:04:59.59 and they sat there and the little girl had been-- 00:04:59.62\00:05:03.82 had gotten some little cookies, 00:05:03.85\00:05:05.90 so everyone could have a cookie each. 00:05:05.93\00:05:09.11 And they were very poor, 00:05:09.14\00:05:10.51 so they didn't have a lot of money 00:05:10.54\00:05:12.12 but they wanted to give every mission student a cookie. 00:05:12.15\00:05:17.21 And then for the five teachers, the little girl said, 00:05:17.24\00:05:21.46 "I want to do something special for my five teachers." 00:05:21.49\00:05:26.14 And her mommy and daddy had used most of their money 00:05:26.17\00:05:31.49 to give the little girl a little tiny cake. 00:05:31.52\00:05:35.71 And the little girl had never had cake. 00:05:35.74\00:05:39.05 And so it was a real treat 00:05:39.08\00:05:41.97 and she looked at that beautiful little cake 00:05:42.00\00:05:46.18 and you know what she did? What? 00:05:46.21\00:05:47.82 She ate it. 00:05:47.85\00:05:50.66 No, she took her cake and she came over 00:05:50.69\00:05:56.53 and she held it out to the five missionary teachers. 00:05:56.56\00:05:59.93 How small was the cake? 00:05:59.96\00:06:01.33 It was only about this big. 00:06:01.36\00:06:04.57 And she said, "I want you teachers 00:06:04.60\00:06:08.90 to have a piece of my cake." 00:06:08.93\00:06:11.55 And do you know what the teachers did? 00:06:11.58\00:06:13.88 They didn't want to hurt her feelings. 00:06:13.91\00:06:16.13 They didn't really want to take the cake 00:06:16.16\00:06:18.59 because they knew that she'd not had any cake 00:06:18.62\00:06:22.56 but they knew that she wanted to share. 00:06:22.59\00:06:26.73 So do you know, they went 00:06:26.76\00:06:28.35 and they each took a piece of that cake. 00:06:28.38\00:06:31.06 They just took the fingers 00:06:31.09\00:06:32.46 and took a little bite of the cake. 00:06:32.49\00:06:34.10 And by that time all five teachers 00:06:34.13\00:06:36.25 had taken just a little bite, 00:06:36.28\00:06:38.26 there was only one little bite left 00:06:38.29\00:06:41.65 with that little Thai Karen girl. 00:06:41.68\00:06:44.82 And so she ate her little piece of cake 00:06:44.85\00:06:48.11 but she was very happy 00:06:48.14\00:06:50.72 because she was able to share with her teachers. 00:06:50.75\00:06:54.34 Oh.
