00:02 Can you believe it?
00:05 Can you build your faith on it? 00:08 The promises of God's Word are sure. 00:12 They do not fail. 00:17 This book has stood the test of time. 00:30 Tonight we're going to continue our study of prophecy. 00:34 The subject tonight is 00:36 The Beast With the Number 666. 00:40 Now let me mention... I told you the other night 00:45 that the Bible repeats and enlarges. 00:49 Repeats and enlarges. 00:51 And that's what it's going to do tonight. 00:54 Except we've been studying out of the book of Daniel... 00:58 tonight we move to the book of Revelation. 01:01 So God, you're going to find, takes certain things 01:04 from the book of Daniel 01:05 and brings it into the book of Revelation 01:08 so you can continue through. 01:10 And you'll see that tonight as we look at this very 01:13 important subject about the beast with the number 666. 01:18 You're going to begin to see how the prophecy is fulfilled 01:22 in your day - the time in which you and I are living. 01:26 We're very happy tonight to have with us this weekend 01:30 Joe Pearles. 01:32 Joe has been singing with us for probably 7-8 years. 01:38 Comes in, does a weekend for us and we're always blessed 01:42 when he comes. We know that you'll be blessed this evening. 01:45 He's going to sing a beautiful song entitled 01:48 Call My Name Again. 02:00 Lord, I want to do right 02:04 though You know I've done wrong. 02:08 I've been in places 02:11 I did not belong. 02:17 With promises broken 02:21 and secrets I've kept 02:25 I don't want to live 02:29 with fear and regret. 02:34 Whisper to me; 02:38 call my name again. 02:42 Back to the place 02:46 where I should have been. 02:51 Take my hand and guide me 02:55 away from my sin. 02:59 Have Your own way, Lord, 03:03 call my name again. 03:17 Lord, I want that sweet peace 03:22 I had as a child. 03:25 I paid a high price 03:29 for my choice to be wild. 03:35 The lights and the glamour... 03:39 they blinded my eyes. 03:42 Lord, please forgive 03:46 this fool and his pride. 03:52 Whisper to me; 03:56 call my name again. 04:00 Back to the place 04:03 where I should have been. 04:09 Take my hand and guide me 04:13 away from my sin. 04:17 Have Your own way, Lord, 04:21 call my name again. 04:27 Have Your own way, Lord, 04:30 call my name again. 04:52 Father in Heaven, 04:56 tonight we just want to come to You... 04:59 open up our lives, open up our hearts, 05:04 invite the Holy Spirit in. 05:07 Lord, as we look at prophecy 05:11 we pray that You will help us to have clearness of mind. 05:16 We ask, Lord, that we might each 05:20 understand where we are, where we're headed, 05:24 and by faith we might take hold of Your hand 05:30 and walk with You all the way into the kingdom of heaven. 05:33 For this we ask in Christ's name, Amen. 05:44 In Revelation the 14th chapter there are three angels. 05:49 One of those angels has a very special message 05:54 concerning the beast. 05:56 And I want you to listen to what that message is. 06:26 So it says very clearly that that individual that receives 06:30 the mark of the beast 06:32 will receive the wrath of God. 06:34 So it becomes extremely important tonight 06:39 that you and I identify this beast. 06:42 Now I know we live in an age and in a time 06:45 in which a lot of people are saying: 06:47 "Well, you don't really need to know who the beast is. 06:50 And you don't really need to be concerned about the beast. " 06:54 But dear friends, it says those that got victory 06:58 over the beast and over its image and over its mark 07:01 are those that stood on the sea of glass. 07:04 Therefore it IS important 07:06 that you and I understand it and know who it is. 07:10 God has given us prophecy so that we CAN understand it. 07:16 It says here - II Peter the 1st chapter and verse 19: 07:33 So God said if there's anything that's sure, 07:37 if there's anything that you can count on, 07:40 if there's anything that you can build your faith on, 07:44 it's prophecy. 07:45 I have people who say to me: 07:47 "Well, Brother Cox, how can I know that God is real? " 07:51 One way you can know that God is real 07:53 is He has foretold it thousands of years before it happened 07:58 with absolute accuracy. 08:00 That takes more than human; that takes something divine. 08:05 But some people say: "Well, it just all depends on 08:07 how you interpret it. 08:09 One person may interpret it one way. 08:11 Somebody else may interpret it another way. 08:14 It just all depends on how you interpret it. " 08:17 No, it does not! 08:19 No, it does not! Because the scripture says this: 08:33 The Bible says: "No, it's not! 08:37 No prophecy is of any private interpretation. " 08:50 No, the Bible will interpret itself if you and I will let it. 08:54 That's what we've got to do 08:56 is we've got to take God's Word, open it up, 08:58 get into it and find out what it has to say. 09:02 Only that way can you understand God's Word. 09:06 You can't be like the folks I was studying God's Word with. 09:10 And this fellow knocked on the door 09:14 and they went to the door and they invited him in 09:15 as we were having this Bible study together. 09:18 And we continued to have the Bible study, and 09:21 in the course of the study he said: 09:23 "I don't believe that. " 09:24 And I said: "Well, that's OK. 09:28 You don't have to believe that. " 09:29 And he said: "Well I just don't believe that's in scripture. " 09:33 And I said: "Now, sir, I hope by the grace of God 09:35 I'm not showing these people something that's not 09:37 in the Word of God. " 09:39 And he said: "Well, show me. " 09:40 And I said: "OK, let's take our Bible and turn over here to 09:43 the book of Isaiah. " And he said: "Just a minute. " 09:45 He said: "I don't take anything out of the Old Testament. " 09:48 He said: "I only go by the New Testament. " 09:51 He said: "I don't go by the Old Testament. " 09:53 And I said: "Well, that's fair enough. Let's turn over here 09:55 to the gospel of Luke. " 09:56 He said: "Just a minute. " 09:58 He said: "Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John: they were all written 10:02 about Jesus up until the time He died. " 10:05 And he said: "All I go by is what was written 10:08 after Jesus died. " 10:10 I said: "Well, that's OK. " 10:12 I said: "Let's turn over here to the book of Revelation. " 10:15 He said: "Just a minute. " 10:16 He said: "That book of Revelation, " he said, 10:18 "that's full of symbols and all that kind of thing. " 10:21 Said: "Nobody understands the book of Revelation. " 10:23 And I said: "OK. Let's turn over here to the book of Hebrews. " 10:27 He said: "Just a minute. " 10:29 Said: "That book of Hebrews was written for the Hebrews. " 10:31 And he said: "I'm a Gentile; I'm not a Hebrew. " 10:34 When he got through with me that's all I had left. 10:37 You can't understand God's Word that way, folks. 10:41 You've got to look at the whole thing. In fact, 10:44 the scripture says this: 11:02 The whole thing is given by the inspiration of God... 11:07 not just part of it. 11:08 And so you and I must look at the whole scripture 11:12 if we're going to understand what it's talking about. 11:15 You can't look at just one little part of it. 11:17 So tonight we're going to go to Revelation 11:21 the 13th chapter and we're going to take a look 11:24 at this particular beast. 11:26 But we're going to see how God reaches over here 11:29 in one part of scripture and pulls things out of it 11:32 and puts it here in another so that you will understand it. 11:36 That's what God does for us. 11:38 Now in Bible prophecy, folks, 11:40 a beast... We sent out this brochure 11:44 and I had some people come and say: 11:46 "Oh, those beasts scare me. 11:48 You know, they look so bad and so ferocious. " 11:51 I have a hard time understanding that 11:54 because they watch all this stuff like Jurassic Park 11:59 and all that. And they watch that and it doesn't seem 12:01 to scare them. And then you put something on a handbill 12:03 and it scares them. I have a hard time putting that together. 12:06 But what I'm here to tell you tonight is God simply uses 12:11 a beast to represent a nation. 12:14 That's all. God just uses a beast to represent a nation. 12:18 Look at what it says here in Daniel: 12:35 So here God used a goat and a ram 12:38 to represent the kings of Media and Persia. 12:41 We do the same thing, don't we? 12:43 Huh? We use an eagle to represent the United States. 12:48 We use a lion to represent England. 12:51 We use a bear to represent Russia. 12:54 We do that very same thing. That's all God is doing, folks. 12:58 So when we get to this beast in Revelation 13:01 it just represents a power, that's all. 13:03 So let's go to Revelation the 13th chapter 13:06 and let's take a look at a beast - 13:09 different kind of beast - because it has seven heads 13:13 and it had ten horns. 13:15 So let's see what the scripture says about it. 13:17 God gives you eight points to identify this beast 13:23 so you and I don't have to be in any doubt. 13:25 When we're through here tonight 13:27 you don't have to be in any doubt whatsoever 13:30 as to who this beast is. 13:33 Again, I want to just simply tell you: 13:36 when God gives you 8 points, all 8 points must fit. 13:43 If four points fit some nation and four don't, 13:47 then you can rest assured you haven't found the right power. 13:50 OK... all eight points must fit. 14:09 Now, the other night I told you that water represents what? 14:15 People, nations, tongues. 14:17 See, God will keep that symbolism the same 14:20 and out of the water comes this great beast. 14:24 All right, that's what it tells us. Now watch carefully: 14:27 we're to the first clue... 14:31 first point that God is going to help you understand. 14:47 Does that ring any bells with you tonight? 14:51 Yes, if you were here Wednesday night, 14:54 that should ring some bells with you... 14:56 because all God has done is He has gone back 15:00 to the book of Daniel 15:01 and took those beasts that we studied in the book of Daniel 15:04 and brought them over here to the book of Revelation. 15:07 And you remember, we had the lion there that represented 15:11 Babylon. We had the bear there that represented Medo-Persia. 15:16 We had the leopard that represented Greece 15:20 and we had the dragon that represented pagan Rome. 15:23 So God has taken those powers... 15:26 put it all in one beast here 15:29 to bring it down into the book of Revelation 15:31 so you and I will known what it's talking about. 15:34 That's the first clue. 15:36 Watch as we continue on: 15:41 That's that fourth beast... 15:43 that was pagan Rome. 15:52 So the scripture says here that pagan Rome 15:55 is going to give to this beast its power, 15:59 its seat, and its authority. 16:02 So we're beginning to find out what the scripture's telling us. 16:06 It says that this beast got its power from the dragon. 16:10 Let's go on and see what it says about it. 16:12 Pagan Rome, if you remember, went from 168 BC 16:17 to 476 AD. 16:19 Pagan Rome came to an end. Watch what history tells us 16:24 happened because pagan Rome 16:26 is going to have to give its power, its seat, 16:29 and its authority to a particular power. 16:33 So let's see what it does. 16:52 So he's saying that this passed from the Caesars 16:55 to the Pontiffs. All right... 17:03 That's exactly what history has to say about it. 17:06 So we find in fulfillment of God's Word 17:10 we find that pagan Rome passed to papal Rome 17:15 its power, its seat, its authority. 17:19 OK? All right. 17:21 Third clue. 17:31 So it says that this beast that we are looking at tonight 17:35 that he's going to last for forty-two months. 17:40 OK? Now I gave you Biblical principles 17:45 when you come to Bible prophecy and you come to time 17:48 I gave you a principle that lets you tell do that... 17:51 tell what that represents, you remember that? 17:53 Told you that in Bible prophecy a day represented 17:56 one year. All right, let's watch 17:59 and see what it has to tell us. 18:01 Prophetic Faith of Our Fathers, Le Roy Froom... 18:04 this is what he has to say: 18:09 I talked about him Wednesday night. 18:11 That was the bishop of Rome... a godly man. 18:21 So you find that one went down, 18:24 Silverius did, and Justinian - who was the emperor - 18:28 put Vigilius in his place. 18:35 From that point on... 18:42 Now I read you a statement on Wednesday night 18:45 that said that it was forced upon them... 18:48 because the Roman Empire was falling apart 18:51 and the only thing that the people could turn to 18:54 that had stability and that was there was the church. 18:59 And so it was forced upon him and that's why it says 19:02 they moved more and more in worldly events. 19:14 And thus you find that Rome... pagan Rome 19:18 passed - not necessarily voluntarily 19:22 but because of the circumstances - it passed 19:25 to papal Rome its power, its seat, and its authority. 19:29 And it says that it was going to last for forty-two months. 19:35 Now folks, I told you the other night 19:38 and I'll repeat this a number of times: 19:39 God is consistent. 19:43 I mean, He is consistent all the way through. 19:46 And you'll see this over, and over, and over. 19:50 Watch... it says here: 20:01 So the papal power came into power 20:05 538 AD. 20:08 So if we take that... 538 AD... 20:13 and we learned on Wednesday night that it lasted for 20:16 1,260 years... 20:20 Let's see if Revelation 13 will back that up. 20:25 Well, if I add 1,260 years to 538 20:30 we learned on Wednesday it took me to where? 20:32 Takes me to 1798 AD. 20:35 Now we've got forty-two months. 20:37 In Biblical reckoning of time there are 30 days 20:41 in a Biblical month. 20:43 So if you multiply 30 times 42 what do you get? 20:50 You get 1,260. 20:53 30 times 42 is 1,260. 20:57 That gives me 1,260... and a day represents a year. 21:06 So if I simply take that 21:09 it takes me to 1798 AD. 21:12 And you remember on Wednesday night, 21:13 that is as far as I took you... remember that? 21:16 And I told you if you wanted to know what happened in 1798 AD 21:20 you had to come back tonight. And I see you did! 21:23 OK? So we're going to find out what happened in 1798 AD. 21:27 Now, let's watch: 21:30 Fourth clue... Revelation 13:3: 21:39 This beast has seven heads. 21:41 And as the apostle John is looking at that beast 21:44 he sees that one of his heads received a mortal wound. 21:50 Been mortally wounded. 21:53 OK? Well, let's see what happened. 21:56 At this time in history, folks, 21:58 at this time in history a man has come to power. 22:02 I'm talking about 1798 AD. 22:05 This man's name is Napoleon. 22:08 Napoleon wants to rule all of Europe 22:13 but he knows... he knows that he cannot rule Europe 22:18 unless he can break the back of the papal power. 22:22 OK? 22:24 So what happened? 22:26 Napoleon sent his general - Berthier - 22:30 into Rome on February 15, 1798, 22:36 and overthrew the papal power. 22:39 Listen, this is what history says about it. 22:55 And if you go to Rome today, 22:58 you can go downtown and here is a facade 23:01 probably as long as this whole hall 23:04 huge one - of that very event that took place. 23:07 You can see it there... February 15, 1798, when the 23:12 papal power came to an end, 23:14 folks, just exactly as 23:17 God's Word said. 23:18 Said it would last for forty-two months. 23:21 When those forty-two months came to an end 23:24 exactly that power came to an end. 23:27 Now I don't know... what do you do with that, folks? 23:31 Do you just pass that by? 23:33 Do you just say: "Well, so? " 23:37 I mean, John... John's writing this. 23:42 You know when John lived? 23:44 90 AD. 23:47 We're talking about something happening in 1798 AD! 23:50 John saw that vividly. 23:54 Said exactly what would happen. 23:57 What I'm trying to get across to you tonight, dear friends, 23:59 you can build your faith on this book. 24:03 It won't fail. 24:05 It'll never let you down. 24:07 Never. Absolute. It will not let you down. 24:13 So the papal power came to an end... 24:17 1798 AD. 24:20 This began something that is called in history 24:26 the Roman question. 24:27 Now watch the scripture very carefully. 24:29 Revelation 13 verse 5: 24:37 Says that this power is going to speak great things 24:40 and blasphemy. Wednesday night when we studied about this power 24:44 you remember it said he would speak great words 24:47 against the Most High. Remember that. 24:49 OK, see... it's the same power. 24:52 God's just moving you from Daniel 24:55 to the book of Revelation. 24:56 Now when it says he would speak great things and blasphemy 25:00 the Bible... the Bible identifies blasphemy... 25:08 That's what the Bible classifies as blasphemy: 25:12 when a person claims to be God 25:14 or he claims he has the power to forgive sins. 25:19 Let me give you a couple Biblical examples of that. 25:22 Both of them happened with Jesus. 25:25 Watch what the scripture has to say about this: 25:36 They said: "For good work we're not stoning You" 25:48 They tried to stone Him because He claimed to be God. 25:51 Of course He had every right in the world 25:53 to claim to be God because He IS God. 25:56 But they didn't want to recognize that. 25:59 They said: "We're not stoning You because You do good work, 26:01 we're stoning You because You claim to be God. " 26:03 That's blasphemy in the scripture definition. 26:06 Listen to one more: 26:09 Well, let me read you some statements 26:11 because it said that would speak great words and blasphemy. 26:14 This comes on the Authority of the Councils, vol. 1, page 266. 26:27 So they say all the names in the scripture 26:30 that apply to Jesus... they apply to the pope. 26:33 The Great Encyclical Letter of Pope Leo XIII, page 304: 26:41 So when it says blasphemy is when they claim to be God. 26:45 Let's look at one more in the scripture, though. 26:47 Luke 5 verse 21: 26:56 They said: "Who is this that's speaking blasphemies? " 27:00 Now watch carefully: 27:07 They said: "Nobody else can forgive sins except God... 27:11 God alone. " So the scripture identifies 27:14 blasphemy when a person, an individual, claims that he has 27:18 the power to forgive sin. 27:20 Well, does the papal power claim that? 27:23 That's what we've got to ask, and again, folks, 27:25 let me clarify something. 27:28 I am not talking about people. 27:32 Please do not take what I say and apply it to individuals. 27:37 If you do that, you're not making the right application 27:41 because that beast represents a power. 27:43 It represents a system. 27:45 It does not represent individuals. 27:49 And I told you, there are a lot of people within this particular 27:52 religious persuasion that are beautiful Christian people. 27:56 And when you and I apply it outside of this 27:59 we are doing jeopardy to the Word of God. 28:02 So don't do that, OK? 28:05 But does that power claim 28:07 that they have the power to forgive sins? 28:13 Baltimore Catechism: 28:31 Says he has the power to forgive that person his sins. 28:37 One more... 28:39 Revelation 13 verse 7: 28:43 this is the sixth clue. 28:50 So it says that this power would actually make war 28:53 against the saints of God. 28:55 Now, I said this again and I want to repeat it again 28:59 tonight... never, never in history... 29:03 I don't know of one case in history, folks, 29:06 where a church has taken over state power 29:11 that it hasn't persecuted. 29:13 I don't care what church that is. 29:15 If you go over to Israel today, 29:19 which is a church power, 29:22 you will find they will not let you preach. 29:25 There's persecution there because a church controls it. 29:30 So I don't care what church it is, any time a church 29:33 has taken state power it has persecuted. 29:38 This... back in the Dark Ages 29:41 they had supreme power and they persecuted. 29:44 And I'll read you a statement why... why they did it. 29:55 This is taken from a book entitled The Penalty for Heresy 30:00 and this is what it says: 30:08 Now get the picture. 30:10 Morally they believe that they were saving thousands of souls, 30:15 listen... 30:33 They believed that these people were wrong. 30:35 They believed that they were teaching them wrong. 30:37 They believed they were leading them wrong, 30:39 and therefore they believed that if they persecuted 30:42 or burned a heretic 30:44 then people would not be deceived. 30:46 And so they persecuted. 30:48 And as I mentioned, all you have to do is read... 30:51 read such books as Fox's Book of Martyrs 30:55 or Short Short Stories of the Reformation 30:58 or The History of Europe by Quabbin. 31:01 Here I Stand by Bainton. 31:03 History of the Reformation by d'Aubigné. 31:06 You can read about some of the persecution 31:08 of the Spanish people or you can read about the 31:12 persecution of the Waldensian people. 31:14 Or you can read about the persecution of the Huguenots... 31:17 Huguenots. History is full of it... 31:21 tell you what happened. Let's go on. 31:32 Now listen carefully. 31:34 He received a mortal wound 31:36 on February 15, 1798. 31:41 Watch: 31:53 So it says his deadly wound was healed. 31:55 As I told you, this began in history what was called 32:00 the Roman question. 32:02 You see, the pope was taken prisoner. 32:07 Taken to France, and he died in prison. 32:10 They elected another one, and he moved back to the Vatican. 32:14 Moved in. Didn't show his face for fifty years. 32:17 There were many, many efforts to settle the Roman question. 32:22 Let me explain what happened. 32:23 When Napoleon came in and he took over 32:26 and did away with the papal power, 32:29 he took from them what was called papal states. 32:33 Now folks, papal states were like our states. 32:36 I'm not talking about a little piece of ground. 32:38 I'm talking about pieces of land as large as our states. 32:42 He had papal states throughout Europe. 32:45 That was all taken away from him by Napoleon. 32:49 So there were many, many efforts made to try to 32:53 settle the Roman question. 32:54 Every time they tried to settle it 32:57 it was always dependent upon the Italian parliament 33:01 and the papal power would not accept that. 33:04 That went back and forth, back and forth for over 100 years 33:10 until we reach the 1900's. 33:13 And in the 1900's, along comes a man 33:16 who is not controlled by the Italian parliament. 33:21 He is a dictator. 33:23 His name is Mussolini. 33:25 And Mussolini decides that he will settle the Roman question. 33:30 He sets up conferences with the papal power, 33:34 and finally on February... excuse me, in 1929 33:39 they sign what was known as the Lateran Pact. 33:44 I want you to listen as the newspaper in the United States 33:48 reports that very event. 33:57 Signed it. Watch... 34:00 this is what it said: 34:33 Signed the Lateran Pact. Let me explain what it did. 34:36 The Lateran Pact paid to the papal power 34:41 twenty-one million dollars 34:44 for the spoliation of the papal states. 34:47 That was in 1929. 34:50 It gave them the right... 34:54 gave them the right to send ambassadors 34:59 to every country of the world. 35:01 It gave them the right - listen to me - 35:04 to be a sovereign power. 35:08 It gave them the right to receive ambassadors 35:13 from every country of the world. 35:16 If you listen to Who Wants to be A Millionaire? - 35:20 which a lot of you do - 35:23 one of the questions that came up on there 35:26 is: if you wanted to find more ambassadors 35:32 in one local area, where would you go? 35:35 Rome. They're all in one building: the Vatican. 35:41 See? People have a hard time understanding this. 35:45 This is a sovereign government. 35:47 I'm not talking about a church, folks. 35:49 Don't misunderstand me. 35:51 I'm not talking about church tonight... 35:53 I'm talking about a government. 35:55 There's a great, great difference. 35:57 I have people say to me 36:00 for instance, when the pope came over, 36:02 he addressed the United Nations. 36:05 Why would the pope have the right to address 36:09 the United Nations? 36:11 Have you thought about that? 36:14 I mean, has any other religious leader 36:19 addressed the United Nations? 36:21 Has any other religious leader done that? 36:23 Yes. One other. 36:25 Do you know who? 36:26 The Dalai Lama. 36:28 Both of them are heads of governments. 36:34 They have a right to address the United Nations 36:37 as heads of government. 36:39 People say: "Oh, it's not right for the pope to come over here 36:43 to the United States and go across our country 36:46 and we spend millions of dollars protecting him. 36:49 Yes it is right. 36:52 It is right 36:53 because our Constitution says that we have to protect 36:58 heads of state. 37:00 And he's the head of a state. 37:03 That is what the Lateran Pact gave them back: 37:07 the right to be a sovereign government. 37:10 And thus you find the deadly wound was healed. 37:15 And the scripture says that all the world will wonder 37:18 and follow after the beast. 37:19 Look what's happening. 37:23 Rome has come front and center today. 37:27 Gorbachev had this to say: 38:15 So just exactly as the scripture has said, it's happening. 38:21 It's being fulfilled exactly as God's Word says. 38:46 All right. 38:48 You're going to have to follow me carefully now 38:50 because you need to begin to see some things that are happening. 38:57 We in our study... as we have studied God's Word together 39:00 we found out that that image that we studied the other night 39:04 had how many toes? 39:06 Ten toes. 39:08 Those ten toes represented ten kings. 39:12 OK. We found out that that dragon in Daniel 7- 39:19 the dragon in Daniel 7- had ten horns. 39:22 Those ten horns represented ten kings or toes. 39:28 OK. We found out tonight that this beast in Revelation 13 39:34 had ten horns. 39:37 Those ten horns represent 39:39 ten kings. 39:41 We're going to be taking a look at a beast 39:45 in Revelation 17 that also has 7 heads and 10 horns. 39:51 And it says that this particular power 39:54 had received no kingdom as yet. 40:07 OK? 40:16 Ah, we're beginning to put some things together. 40:19 And folks, in the coming nights 40:21 we're going to put more of it together. 40:23 It says that these ten kings which were 40:27 the nations of western Europe: 40:29 the Anglo-Saxons, the Franks, the Heruli, the Vandals, 40:32 the Ostrogoths. They became the nations of western Europe. 40:35 They became Germany and England and France and Portugal 40:38 and those nations. It says that they will come to power, 40:43 and they'll give their power and authority 40:47 to the beast. 40:50 So now folks, you need to be able to look at it, 40:54 open your eyes, and you ought to be able to know 40:57 what's going on over in Europe and what's going to take place. 41:02 Now let me tell you... Are you going to sit there 41:05 and tell me that if God with absolute accuracy 41:09 lined all this up step by step 41:13 and we've gone through it and every piece has 41:16 fit the puzzle... I mean, every piece has fit the puzzle 41:19 and we get down here where two pieces haven't been put in yet 41:23 and you're going to tell me they're not going to be put in? 41:26 Is that what you're going to tell me? 41:29 Not hardly. 41:31 If all those pieces have been put in the puzzle 41:34 and they have fit perfectly, 41:36 you better believe the last two pieces are going to go in there 41:40 perfectly. And the scripture tells you and I 41:43 exactly where we're headed. 41:45 We don't have to be in any doubt about it at all. 41:48 OK. 41:52 As we study God's Word, 41:55 we're going to take a look at a great red dragon 41:58 in Revelation 12. 42:01 This great red dragon in Revelation 12 42:04 has seven heads, ten horns. 42:08 OK? 42:10 This is what it says: 42:25 So this beast has seven heads, ten horns. 42:28 Now, rest assured that every time you come across 42:31 those ten horns in scripture 42:32 they represent the same ten kings. 42:35 God is consistent. 42:37 But this beast has seven heads. 42:39 We have studied tonight here in Revelation 13 42:43 a beast that has how many heads? 42:46 Seven heads. 42:49 All right? 43:02 So this beast also has ten horns 43:05 and he has ten... seven heads. 43:09 When we go to Revelation 17 it says this: 43:29 So now we have found there are three beasts 43:32 that we've looked at... Revelation 12, 43:36 Revelation 13, Revelation 17... 43:38 and all of them have seven heads. 43:42 OK? 43:45 Now I'm going to begin to move you down through time. 43:50 You'll see with absolute clarity 43:53 how wonderful God reveals things. Listen: 44:25 Now folks, if you want to have wisdom, 44:29 then listen carefully to what God has to say. 44:34 He says: "If you want to be smart, 44:37 if you want to have wisdom, 44:39 listen carefully. " 44:42 "The seven heads are 7 mountains on which the woman sits. " 44:54 So it tells us that those seven heads represent 44:57 seven kingdoms or seven kings. 45:00 OK? Now, you're going to see something here 45:03 that will help you put all this together. 45:05 "Five have fallen, 45:11 one is, 45:12 the other has not yet come. " 45:15 So when he talks about those seven heads that represent 45:18 seven kings, seven kingdoms, 45:20 he says: "five of those have fallen, 45:24 one is, one is yet to come. " 45:28 Watch: 45:37 Oh, you have no idea 45:40 how meaningful that word is. 45:43 When he comes, he will continue a "short" time. 45:46 You don't know how much that affects you. 45:51 All right. 45:53 This is what we have found out. 45:57 The Bible starts and it talks about these different kingdoms. 46:00 And you remember, we studied this particular image 46:03 in Daniel. And as we studied it we found that that head of gold 46:07 represented Babylon. 46:10 And we find that in the scripture in the 7th chapter 46:13 it was represented as a lion. 46:17 One head... the head of a lion. 46:20 OK. The second power that's coming on the scene of action 46:24 was that of Medo-Persia. 46:26 539 BC to 331 BC. 46:30 Arms and breast of silver. 46:32 And we found that God used a beast there to represent 46:36 Medo-Persia which was a bear. 46:39 Head of a bear. 46:40 OK. And then we found that we came down that image 46:44 and we got to that belly and thighs of bronze. 46:47 And we found that that represented the nation 46:50 of Greece: 331 BC to 168 BC. 46:55 And in Daniel 7 it was pictured as a leopard. 47:01 OK? Pictured as a leopard. 47:03 And as we came down that image step by step 47:07 we came to the legs of iron. 47:09 And we found that the legs of iron represented Rome. 47:13 Pagan Rome going from 168 BC to 476 AD. 47:18 And God used a dragon 47:22 to represent pagan Rome. 47:24 And then we looked at the little horn on that dragon 47:30 in Daniel 7. And tonight we studied a beast - 47:34 in Revelation 13, right? - 47:38 that represented papal Rome: 47:42 538 AD to 1798 AD. 47:45 Did you catch on? 47:48 Five have fallen. 47:54 Babylon, Medo-Persia, 47:57 Greece, pagan Rome, papal Rome. 48:01 Five have fallen... there they are. 48:23 So we have how many beasts left? 48:26 Two. 48:30 Now as I told you, prophecy can get heavy. 48:34 So tonight... or tomorrow night... we're going to ease up 48:38 a little bit. But on Sunday night we're going to look 48:42 at the one that is. 48:46 A beast that you seldom hear anything about. 48:52 You hardly ever hear anybody say anything about it. 48:56 In fact, most people read the scripture 48:58 in the book of Revelation 48:59 and never know that there's a beast there. 49:03 It's found in the 11th chapter of Revelation. 49:08 In the 11th chapter of Revelation is the beast that is. 49:13 The other has not yet come. 49:16 "When he comes, he must continue a short time. " 49:21 So folks, what I'm trying to take you step by step 49:24 is I'm trying to take you down through time. 49:28 I'm trying to show you 49:30 any way you want to look at it, folks, 49:33 we're down at the end. 49:36 You have to recognize that: we're at the end. 49:40 There's not a lot of time left. 49:43 I can tell you tonight 49:46 God's Word has not failed. 49:50 It's been fulfilled with absolute accuracy. 49:54 It won't fail tonight. 49:57 And as we study God's Word from night to night, 50:00 we're going to move right on down and we're going to see 50:03 exactly where we are in history 50:06 and what's happening and what's taking place. 50:11 The thing that you and I want to make sure is 50:15 that our eyes are open. 50:18 That we aren't shutting our eyes. 50:22 We aren't saying: "Oh, I don't want to know that. 50:25 I don't want to see that. " 50:27 We want to say: "Lord, open my eyes 50:31 that I may see. " 50:37 Open my eyes 50:41 that I may see 50:47 Glimpses of truth 50:52 Thou hast for me; 50:58 Place in my hands 51:02 the wonderful key 51:09 That shall unclasp 51:13 and set me free. 51:20 Silently now 51:25 I wait for Thee, 51:31 Ready, my God, 51:35 Thy will to see; 51:42 Open my eyes, 51:47 illumine me, 51:54 Spirit 51:59 divine! 52:08 Let us pray. 52:10 Father tonight, 52:13 as we have moved into the book of Revelation 52:17 Lord help us 52:21 that we may understand where we are. 52:24 But Lord, it's not enough. 52:28 We may know where we are 52:31 but if we don't know Jesus we've missed everything. 52:36 May each of us not just understand the scripture 52:42 and understand what's taking place 52:46 but may we take hold of Jesus Christ 52:49 and in Him find life eternal. 52:53 Bless each one here tonight. 52:56 Give them peace and give them understanding. 53:02 We thank You for hearing, for answering prayer. 53:08 In Christ's name, Amen. 53:15 To obtain a copy of this program or for more information, 53:18 please write to: |
