my grandmother 00:00:31.38\00:00:33.38 and I would sit around and we would peel pecans, 00:00:33.41\00:00:35.69 it was like a family thing. 00:00:35.72\00:00:37.20 It was so much fun and I have never ever 00:00:37.23\00:00:42.80 lost my love for pecans, I just love them. 00:00:42.83\00:00:45.72 So I try to come up with different recipes 00:00:45.75\00:00:49.00 that contain pecans and I have one for you today, honeychild. 00:00:49.03\00:00:54.29 I have a amazing ooey gooey southern pecan bar. 00:00:54.32\00:01:01.70 That is fabulous and it is going to set your mind on fire, 00:01:01.73\00:01:08.35 it is so amazing. 00:01:08.38\00:01:11.70 So let's read the recipe. 00:01:11.73\00:01:13.88 For the topping you need... 00:01:16.92\00:01:19.28 So we're going to start with topping first 00:02:04.91\00:02:07.89 and we have our pecans which I love, this is, 00:02:07.92\00:02:13.62 I think this is one of my favorite nuts. 00:02:13.65\00:02:15.74 And we have our maple syrup and if you don't have 00:02:18.57\00:02:21.63 maple syrup you can use honey. 00:02:21.66\00:02:23.43 But I love the smokiness of maple syrup 00:02:23.46\00:02:27.46 I really, really like that. 00:02:27.49\00:02:30.42 And vanilla extract and when using vanilla extract 00:02:30.45\00:02:33.30 make sure you read your labels 00:02:33.33\00:02:34.79 because a lot of the vanilla has alcohol in it. 00:02:34.82\00:02:38.76 So you want to make sure that you're getting 00:02:38.79\00:02:41.83 a pure variety of vanilla. 00:02:41.86\00:02:47.54 And then we have our salt. 00:02:47.57\00:02:49.55 And salt balances the flavor and sweetening, 00:02:49.58\00:02:54.77 so I like to add a little salt. 00:02:54.80\00:02:56.96 But if you have high blood pleasure 00:02:56.99\00:02:58.90 and you are on a low salt diet you can not put the salt in. 00:02:58.93\00:03:03.36 It's just a little add. 00:03:03.39\00:03:05.39 So we're going to put this aside for a minute 00:03:05.42\00:03:08.09 and then we're going to go on to our crust. 00:03:08.12\00:03:12.19 So now we're going to use cashew flour and cashew flour 00:03:12.22\00:03:16.08 is just cashews ground up in the processor, 00:03:16.11\00:03:19.03 it's real simple that's how you make nut flour. 00:03:19.06\00:03:21.89 And this is kind of a flour so to speak. 00:03:21.92\00:03:26.16 But we're using cashews it is a lighter nut 00:03:26.19\00:03:28.54 so it gives a light crust. 00:03:28.57\00:03:33.08 Then we have our cardamom and our coriander 00:03:33.11\00:03:36.07 which is a substitute for cinnamon. 00:03:36.10\00:03:40.79 And I like to incorporate the flavors, 00:03:40.82\00:03:42.77 so I'm going to mix that around a little bit. 00:03:42.80\00:03:44.59 And then our vanilla extract. of the way. 00:04:42.94\00:04:44.50 And we're going to put our crust in a Pyrex pan 00:04:53.86\00:04:57.80 and I have lined it with parchment paper. 00:04:57.83\00:05:00.75 You can oil it with a coconut oil 00:05:00.78\00:05:05.36 but what I found out it still sticks 00:05:05.39\00:05:07.90 so I have lined it with parchment paper to make it 00:05:07.93\00:05:10.97 a little easier to get-- 00:05:11.00\00:05:12.98 To remove after you have your, your bars finished. 00:05:13.01\00:05:17.04 So you have to use your hands and just press this out. 00:05:21.35\00:05:24.22 And this is a real
