00:00:30.79\00:00:32.59 My name is Evita Tezeno, 00:00:32.63\00:00:34.83 and we're gonna have another great season again. 00:00:34.86\00:00:38.37 Chockfull of great and delicious recipes, 00:00:38.40\00:00:41.77 but you know I get all of these phone calls 00:00:41.80\00:00:44.34 from the viewers and they say, 00:00:44.37\00:00:45.71 Evita, I need some breakfast ideas. 00:00:45.74\00:00:49.18 I am on the run and I have children 00:00:49.21\00:00:52.58 and I just don't get my nutrition in. 00:00:52.61\00:00:55.28 Well, I have something for you. 00:00:55.32\00:00:57.62 We're gonna do some green smoothie recipes 00:00:57.65\00:01:00.12 that are gonna be delicious and flavorful. 00:01:00.16\00:01:04.39 Yes, another green smoothie. 00:01:04.43\00:01:06.09 But this green smoothie is gonna knock your socks off. 00:01:06.13\00:01:09.96 And so here comes the recipe. 00:01:10.00\00:01:13.90 The first green smoothie we're gonna do 00:01:13.94\00:01:16.44 is called a Raw Carob Almond green smoothie. 00:01:16.47\00:01:20.38 The ingredients are: 00:01:20.41\00:01:22.08 So, here we go, 00:01:49.24\00:01:52.77 we're gonna start off with the spinach 00:01:52.81\00:01:55.74 which is one of my favorite recipes. 00:01:55.78\00:01:57.85 So we're gonna put the spinach inside the blender. 00:02:01.08\00:02:06.25 And if you have looked at some of my other episodes, 00:02:06.29\00:02:11.89 this is almond milk, 00:02:11.93\00:02:14.36 and almond milk is very easy to make, 00:02:14.40\00:02:17.40 you just grind the almonds and you strain it. 00:02:17.43\00:02:21.40 And here you get almond milk. 00:02:21.44\00:02:23.97 So we're gonna add almond, almond milk. 00:02:24.01\00:02:26.51 And it's a pinch of salt and we're using sea salt 00:02:29.54\00:02:31.71 today I'm using pink sea salt. 00:02:31.75\00:02:36.95 And I'm using ground flax seeds, 00:02:36.99\00:02:40.59 and this is where you get your omegas. 00:02:40.62\00:02:44.66 Almond butter, yummy. 00:02:44.69\00:02:47.06 It makes the smoothie really creamy and delicious. 00:02:47.10\00:02:51.43 Now my favorite to use is carob powder. 00:02:54.50\00:02:57.74 Carob powder is so much better than chocolate 00:02:57.77\00:03:00.98 because it doesn't have all of the additives 00:03:01.01\00:03:04.68 and caffeine in it. 00:03:04.71\00:03:06.05 So carob powder is high in calcium 00:03:06.08\00:03:08.95 and it's really delicious 00:03:08.98\00:03:10.45 and it's so much better for you than chocolate. 00:03:10.49\00:03:12.65 And I call these dates nature's candy 00:03:15.72\00:03:18.83 because they're sweet and God made them for us, 00:03:18.86\00:03:21.93 so we don't have to worry about candy, 00:03:21.96\00:03:23.73 we have it already in the date, 00:03:23.77\00:03:25.83 and I'm using medjool dates which is my favorite, 00:03:25.87\00:03:27.80 they're softer and they're sweeter. 00:03:27.84\00:03:30.01 And last but not least, 00:03:33.01\00:03:34.48 we have the alcohol free vanilla. 00:03:34.51\00:03:36.95 Make sure you read your labels, because a lot of the extracts 00:03:36.98\00:03:41.25 does have alcohol in them. 00:03:41.28\00:03:46.89 So now we blend. 00:03:46.92\00:03:49.52 Now we always have to have a beautiful glass 00:04:07.58\00:04:12.85 to serve it up with. 00:04:12.88\00:04:14.22 I'm gonna taste this. 00:04:19.69\00:04:21.02 This is delicious people. 00:04:24.23\00:04:25.89 This is yummy. 00:04:25.93\00:04:27.93 But I have another recipe for you, 00:04:27.96\00:04:30.50 it's gonna be a coco green smoothie. 00:04:30.53\00:04:34.54 The ingredients are: 00:04:34.57\00:04:36.10 Now, before I know you saw me do a young Thai coconut, 00:04:59.89\00:05:04.80 open it up, 00:05:04.83\00:05:06.17 but I'm gonna show you how to do it again. 00:05:06.20\00:05:08.14 This is a young coconut that is not mature 00:05:08.17\00:05:13.14 and is very simple to open it up. 00:05:13.17\00:05:18.41 Don't be scared. 00:05:18.45\00:05:19.78 But you have to really be focused 00:05:19.81\00:05:21.75 and not be talking to anybody 00:05:21.78\00:05:24.45 or watching television or anything 00:05:24.49\00:05:26.69 because you have to chop it 00:05:26.72\00:05:28.92 around like so. 00:05:28.96\00:05:33.70 This is very easy very, very easy. 00:05:33.73\00:05:36.56 Then you have this wonderful water that comes out. 00:05:36.60\00:05:40.90 I call this God's energy drink 00:05:40.94\00:05:43.74 because it is high in potassium. 00:05:43.77\00:05:46.88 So now we have this wonderful kale, 00:05:46.91\00:05:49.41 I call it the super food of greens. 00:05:49.44\00:05:52.31 This is flat leaves kale, 00:05:52.35\00:05:54.48 they usually call it also dinosaur kale. 00:05:54.52\00:05:58.45 And kale is high in iron, it is very nutritious, 00:05:58.49\00:06:03.76 and we should have more greens in our diet. 00:06:03.79\00:06:06.59 You know some of the professionals say 00:06:06.63\00:06:09.86 that we should have at least a pound of greens 00:06:09.90\00:06:12.13 in our diet a day, and you say, 00:06:12.17\00:06:14.10 how can we get that much of greens in our diet? 00:06:14.14\00:06:16.81 By doing smoothing, smoothies and juicing, 00:06:16.84\00:06:20.48 that's how we get those yummy greens in our diet. 00:06:20.51\00:06:24.01 So I put a little lemon juice in here 00:06:24.05\00:06:25.85 to balance out the flavor of the greens, 00:06:25.88\00:06:29.45 also nature's candy again, these wonderful medjool dates. 00:06:29.48\00:06:36.06 And an avocado and it said half an avocado 00:06:36.09\00:06:40.56 but it depending on how large your avocado is, 00:06:40.60\00:06:44.30 you want to probably use a whole of avocado 00:06:44.33\00:06:48.00 in the smoothie. 00:06:48.04\00:06:49.87 It adds to the creaminess of the smoothie 00:06:49.90\00:06:53.04 and makes it just so much more delicious. 00:06:53.07\00:06:57.98 Now, I'm using walnuts. 00:06:58.01\00:06:59.88 Walnuts, if you look at walnuts, 00:06:59.91\00:07:01.28 they look almost like a brain 00:07:01.32\00:07:03.59 and they're good food for the brain. 00:07:03.62\00:07:06.55 So this has been soaked overnight. 00:07:06.59\00:07:10.33 And I put a little pinch of salt for balance. 00:07:10.36\00:07:14.50 And if you don't want to, you don't have to use the salt, 00:07:14.53\00:07:16.87 but I like to put a little pinch of salt, 00:07:16.90\00:07:19.03 it adds to the flavor. 00:07:19.07\00:07:20.90 Here is another fabulous recipe 00:07:40.32\00:07:43.12 that can get you up and going in the morning, 00:07:43.16\00:07:46.26 a luscious green smoothie... 00:07:46.29\00:07:48.56 Carob Almond Smoothie and a Coco Green Smoothie 00:07:53.60\00:07:58.44 for your breakfast in the morning. 00:07:58.47\00:08:01.24 This is been Evita again, 00:08:01.28\00:08:02.84 with another great recipe and remember, live life fresh. 00:08:02.88\00:08:08.92 Welcome back, welcome back. 00:08:14.39\00:08:16.06 We are gonna have a blast today. 00:08:16.09\00:08:17.89 Evita, she's making those delicious smoothies 00:08:17.93\00:08:20.16 that a lot of people and everybody enjoy, 00:08:20.20\00:08:22.23 but you know some things in life just have to be cooked. 00:08:22.26\00:08:25.20 Some people will say, 00:08:25.23\00:08:26.57 some things in life have to be fried, 00:08:26.60\00:08:28.67 but in the kitchen we're gonna make something special. 00:08:28.70\00:08:31.37 This is one of my favorites. 00:08:31.41\00:08:32.74 Actually I enjoy this one 00:08:32.77\00:08:34.51 because we all love chicken nuggets, yeah. 00:08:34.54\00:08:37.71 Everybody loves chicken nuggets especially you know 00:08:37.75\00:08:42.35 some of the ones that we buy at the fast food restaurants 00:08:42.38\00:08:44.59 but, we all know that when we eat them, 00:08:44.62\00:08:46.86 sometimes we don't even know what they're made of 00:08:46.89\00:08:48.89 and I was just looking at a research lately, 00:08:48.92\00:08:51.03 and they actually took some chicken nuggets 00:08:51.06\00:08:52.99 and they dissected it 00:08:53.03\00:08:54.36 and they try to find out what was in it 00:08:54.40\00:08:55.73 and literally it was like less than almost 50 percent 00:08:55.76\00:08:59.33 was not even per se the real chicken, 00:08:59.37\00:09:03.44 and so it's causing for some people many problems, 00:09:03.47\00:09:06.44 but today we're gonna make the real stuff 00:09:06.47\00:09:08.74 but the stuff from scratch as you know. 00:09:08.78\00:09:11.08 And so today we're gonna 00:09:11.11\00:09:12.45 name it our fantastic 00:09:12.48\00:09:14.85 tasty chicken fingers. 00:09:14.88\00:09:19.39 A lot of people will enjoy this. 00:09:19.42\00:09:20.76 As you know we make the chicken seasoning and stuff, 00:09:20.79\00:09:22.89 but now we're gonna actually make the fingers. 00:09:22.92\00:09:25.23 So you can go ahead and enjoy and this is a kid's favorite. 00:09:25.26\00:09:27.90 So I brought one of my colleagues in as you all... 00:09:27.93\00:09:31.20 if you have seen some of our shows before 00:09:31.23\00:09:33.47 or maybe in the future. 00:09:33.50\00:09:35.10 His name is Brian, Brian Haynes all the way from where Brian? 00:09:35.14\00:09:38.64 Tuskegee, Alabama. 00:09:38.67\00:09:40.34 Tuskegee, Alabama, so you fly those planes 00:09:40.38\00:09:42.11 and stuff like that? 00:09:42.14\00:09:43.48 I haven't but I would like to one day. 00:09:43.51\00:09:45.01 One day, one day we all want to fly 00:09:45.05\00:09:47.28 and may be when we get to heaven, you know, 00:09:47.32\00:09:49.35 we'll fly around with our wings, 00:09:49.38\00:09:51.22 but from Alabama so if anybody know chicken nuggets, 00:09:51.25\00:09:54.36 I would think it's you. 00:09:54.39\00:09:55.72 Well, you actually might be a little surprised. 00:09:55.76\00:09:57.49 Oh, oh, what happened was, you know, 00:09:57.53\00:10:00.13 down south they get, you know, 00:10:00.16\00:10:01.66 they do their thing with the chicken nuggets and stuff. 00:10:01.70\00:10:03.93 They do, they do.
