My name is Evita Tezeno. 00:00:30.39\00:00:35.20 Breakfast is always a problem for people 00:00:35.23\00:00:37.57 'cause they say, I don't know what to eat for breakfast, 00:00:37.60\00:00:40.34 especially when they become plant based 00:00:40.37\00:00:43.17 and raw, oh, that's out of question. 00:00:43.20\00:00:46.34 What am I gonna eat? 00:00:46.37\00:00:47.71 I love oatmeal, I love cereal, I love this, I love that. 00:00:47.74\00:00:52.95 Well, today, I'm gonna show you a great recipe that is easy, 00:00:52.98\00:00:59.35 that is quick, and it is delicious. 00:00:59.39\00:01:02.72 And it's almost like granola bars but not quite. 00:01:02.76\00:01:07.53 We're doing apple ginger bars. 00:01:07.56\00:01:11.00 And the recipe is: 00:01:11.03\00:01:12.80 So we're gonna begin by grinding the almond first. 00:01:41.66\00:01:45.47 In the food processor, 00:01:48.50\00:01:50.11 and we don't want to grind it to a powder 00:01:50.14\00:01:53.17 but we want to just slightly, 00:01:53.21\00:01:56.38 right before it gets to a powder. 00:01:56.41\00:01:58.41 Little bit more. 00:02:08.66\00:02:09.99 Okay, that's good. 00:02:18.27\00:02:19.60 So you want to maintain the chunkiness of the almonds. 00:02:19.63\00:02:23.07 And then we're going 00:02:25.11\00:02:26.88 to put our shredder in... 00:02:26.91\00:02:32.61 And shred our apples. 00:02:34.55\00:02:36.35 And today, we're using Fuji apples. 00:02:46.66\00:02:48.56 Fuji apples are so delicious. 00:02:48.60\00:02:51.83 So after they're all shredded... 00:03:09.88\00:03:12.15 You want to put them in the bowl with the almonds. 00:03:16.26\00:03:22.36 And then put your S blade in, 00:03:26.57\00:03:31.44 and then put it back inside the food processor. 00:03:31.47\00:03:34.61 It's pretty amazing that the Lord has given us 00:03:38.88\00:03:41.28 so many different varieties of apples. 00:03:41.32\00:03:44.22 And Fuji is one of the sweetest apples there is. 00:03:44.25\00:03:47.39 So it's just delectable. 00:03:47.42\00:03:50.63 So I have some honey... 00:03:50.66\00:03:57.57 Ginger. 00:03:57.60\00:04:01.50 Cardamom. 00:04:01.54\00:04:04.74 coriander, and dates. 00:04:04.77\00:04:09.04 And I'm going to tear up the dates a little bit. 00:04:09.08\00:04:13.28 And these are Medjool dates. 00:04:13.31\00:04:14.82 These are the sweetest dates on the planet. 00:04:14.85\00:04:17.65 They are nature's candy. 00:04:17.69\00:04:20.09 And, you know, when you get a sweet tooth, 00:04:20.12\00:04:22.22 you can just grab a date 00:04:22.26\00:04:23.79 instead of grabbing a piece of candy. 00:04:23.83\00:04:26.16 I'm a witness to that because I do have a sweet tooth 00:04:26.19\00:04:29.73 and sometimes I do want dessert after a meal, 00:04:29.76\00:04:34.50 and I don't have anything in the house, 00:04:34.54\00:04:36.04 so I grab a date instead. 00:04:36.07\00:04:40.84 And that's satisfies with my sweet tooth. 00:04:40.88\00:04:44.91 So we're gonna put the raisins in last. 00:04:46.55\00:04:49.05 Okay... 00:05:04.00\00:05:07.04 We have our sea salt and then our raisins. 00:05:07.07\00:05:12.71 And we just want to just slightly mix in the raisin, 00:05:12.74\00:05:17.71 just a pulse, a little pulse. 00:05:17.75\00:05:19.65 Now here comes the fun part. 00:05:23.55\00:05:25.39 We are going to take this mixture 00:05:29.16\00:05:32.86 and put it in a bowl. 00:05:32.89\00:05:34.80 I wish we had smellivision 00:05:42.17\00:05:45.97 because this smells incredible. 00:05:46.01\00:05:51.65 And you know, really and truly, you can eat this like this, 00:05:51.68\00:05:54.52 like a porridge if you want this for breakfast 00:05:54.55\00:06:00.12 or you could do what I'm doing next, 00:06:00.16\00:06:05.96 is take a small amount of the mixture 00:06:05.99\00:06:12.93 and just place it on the dehydrator sheet 00:06:12.97\00:06:17.77 like so, make it into like a little small bar 00:06:17.81\00:06:21.41 and just continue till all the mixture is done. 00:06:21.44\00:06:25.55 And you dehydrate it for about 12 to 14 hours. 00:06:25.58\00:06:30.42 And then guess what we have? 00:06:30.45\00:06:32.59 We have... 00:06:34.36\00:06:36.49 Some wonderful almond bars. 00:06:36.52\00:06:43.47 Now I'm going to take a bite 00:06:43.50\00:06:47.37 and tell you what they taste like. 00:06:47.40\00:06:48.80 You taste the ginger, the cardamom, 00:06:54.01\00:06:57.55 and the coriander, 00:06:57.58\00:06:59.51 the sweetness of the raisins and the dates, it just... 00:06:59.55\00:07:03.49 This is amazing. 00:07:03.52\00:07:06.39 So now you have another recipe for breakfast. 00:07:06.42\00:07:10.89 This is Evita Tezeno with A Taste of Paradise. 00:07:10.93\00:07:14.83 And remember to live life fresh. 00:07:14.86\00:07:19.03 The food fortifier, a lot of times 00:07:26.78\00:07:29.18 when we go to stores or supermarkets 00:07:29.21\00:07:30.95 and we look at our products on the shelf, 00:07:30.98\00:07:32.65 we always say, "Man, 00:07:32.68\00:07:34.02 this has been fortified with this, 00:07:34.05\00:07:35.52 that's been fortified with that, 00:07:35.55\00:07:36.92 we added some A to that, we added D." 00:07:36.95\00:07:38.92 I'm like, who E, K, C, B 12, 00:07:38.95\00:07:42.36 they're just fortifying everything these days. 00:07:42.39\00:07:44.69 Your milk is fortified, the cereal is fortified, 00:07:44.73\00:07:47.73 soon they're gonna start fortifying fruits. 00:07:47.76\00:07:50.10 I mean, man, I mean, it's just too much fortifying going on. 00:07:50.13\00:07:53.27 However, God did provide us 00:07:53.30\00:07:55.27 some nice little things to fortify our food 00:07:55.30\00:07:57.47 and that's what we're gonna look at today, 00:07:57.51\00:07:59.07 something that we all know we all heard of, 00:07:59.11\00:08:01.48 and it's good for many of the ailments 00:08:01.51\00:08:03.35 that people are dealing with. 00:08:03.38\00:08:04.71 And what are we talking about? 00:08:04.75\00:08:06.08 We are talking about molasses, one of the key food fortifiers 00:08:06.11\00:08:09.58 that you can ever find, especially the blackstrap, 00:08:09.62\00:08:11.99 but I have a special guest, my good buddy 00:08:12.02\00:08:14.39 and partner in service for the Lord, 00:08:14.42\00:08:16.99 his name is Rico Hill. 00:08:17.03\00:08:19.66 Rico, what's going on? 00:08:19.69\00:08:21.03 Good to see you, man. Good to have you back. 00:08:21.06\00:08:22.40 Good to have you back, man. 00:08:22.43\00:08:23.77 We've been having a blast, you know, going over some food. 00:08:23.80\00:08:26.33 And, you know, all the things that people are interested 00:08:26.37\00:08:29.20 and everybody wants to fortify, 00:08:29.24\00:08:30.57 either they're fortifying with a supplement, 00:08:30.61\00:08:32.11 they're fortifying their life, they're fortifying their houses 00:08:32.14\00:08:34.38 with all the storms that's going on. 00:08:34.41\00:08:36.04 Man everything is being fortified 00:08:36.08\00:08:37.55 but the most important thing, as we all know, 00:08:37.58\00:08:39.31 we need to fortify is our soul, our souls, our bodies, 00:08:39.35\00:08:42.78 and we fortify that with Christ, of course. 00:08:42.82\00:08:45.29 How is the ministry going there for you? 00:08:45.32\00:08:47.12 The mission is going very well. The Lord is fortifying it. 00:08:47.16\00:08:48.82 Come on now. Come on now. 00:08:48.86\00:08:50.39 Got to bring that back around. Good news. 00:08:50.43\00:08:53.13 Well, tell us a little bit about 00:08:53.16\00:08:55.86 what we're gonna do here today, 00:08:55.90\00:08:57.87 why is this so important, to maybe fortify our foods 00:08:57.90\00:09:01.24 or if we do fortify it, what can we use? 00:09:01.27\00:09:03.74 Well, you know, I would start out by saying that, 00:09:03.77\00:09:05.97 you know, a lot of times the things 00:09:06.01\00:09:07.34 that we do called fortifying or fortification 00:09:07.38\00:09:10.75 is really not fortifying at all, right? 00:09:10.78\00:09:14.05 They actually call it that, 00:09:14.08\00:09:15.92 but they port out all the good stuff 00:09:15.95\00:09:18.22 and they have fortified it with things 00:09:18.25\00:09:20.79 that are not really healthy 00:09:20.82\00:09:22.39 or they are not nutritionally dense. 00:09:22.42\00:09:25.19 They're not really good like our breads. 00:09:25.23\00:09:27.16 They take out all the good stuff 00:09:27.20\00:09:29.20 and then they sort of fortify it 00:09:29.23\00:09:30.57 with artificial things, but what we want to do today 00:09:30.60\00:09:32.93 is we want to look at the real fortifiers you mentioned. 00:09:32.97\00:09:35.50 And one of those things is molasses. 00:09:35.54\00:09:38.37 Molasses is something that is so rich 00:09:38.41\00:09:40.51 and so many of the minerals that we need, 00:09:40.54\00:09:42.51 the minerals that we need like iron, calcium, phosphorous, 00:09:42.54\00:09:47.88 you know, these things the body needs, magnesium, 00:09:47.92\00:09:50.92 and we want to make sure that we get those things... 00:09:50.95\00:09:53.59 You will find that just using blackstrap molasses, 00:09:53.62\00:09:56.36 women can actually replace a lot of the iron, 00:09:56.39\00:09:59.59 a lot of time they're anemic 00:09:59.63\00:10:00.96 because they're lacking in iron. 00:10:01.00\00:10:03.73 A tablespoon of blackstrap molasses a day, 00:10:03.77\00:10:06.50 and wow, beautiful things will begin to work. 00:10:06.53\00:10:09.60 And you hit something on the head there 00:10:09.64\00:10:11.31 because I do know a lot of women 00:10:11.34\00:10:13.88 who are taking molasses and stuff, 00:10:13.91\00:10:15.64 now it's a good fortifier 00:10:15.68\00:10:17.01 because especially blackstrap molasses, 00:10:17.05\00:10:18.71 they say, have triple the amount of iron and calcium 00:10:18.75\00:10:21.25 than regular molasses, 00:10:21.28\00:10:22.68 so they're using it for their iron. 00:10:22.72\00:10:24.12 But as we all know in ministry 00:10:24.15\00:10:25.89 and in service the key is what is causing anemia. 00:10:25.92\00:10:28.86 So even though we're gonna learn 00:10:28.89\00:10:30.33 how to fortify some foods, we always have to get down 00:10:30.36\00:10:33.09 to what is the root cause of the problem. 00:10:33.13\00:10:35.16 And a lot of times maybe vinegar has something 00:10:35.20\00:10:37.43 that destroys red blood cells, 00:10:37.47\00:10:38.90 you know, maybe that's a problem, 00:10:38.93\00:10:40.27 maybe sometimes ladies who may have heavy flows 00:10:40.30\00:10:43.91 or, you know, I don't want to get too much into that, 00:10:43.94\00:10:46.68 but there's many different reasons 00:10:46.71\00:10:48.31 why people will have that, 00:10:48.34\00:10:49.68 but the key is get into the source of the problem, 00:10:49.71\00:10:51.48 but then the Lord has provided some natural things 00:10:51.51\00:10:54.05 that we all can use to help with that processing. 00:10:54.08\00:10:57.09 You mentioned magnesium as well, which is necessary. 00:10:57.12\00:11:01.09 You know, an individual may have high blood pressure 00:11:01.12\00:11:03.19 and magnesium helps to relax the muscles 00:11:03.22\00:11:06.16 and all of that good stuff, 00:11:06.19\00:11:07.53 so bring it down a little bit as well. 00:11:07.56\00:11:09.30 But again, with the blood pressure, 00:11:09.33\00:11:10.80 get to the source of the what? 00:11:10.83\00:11:12.43 The problem. Source of the problem. 00:11:12.47\00:11:13.97 And why is that is so important 00:11:14.00\00:11:15.34 to get to that source of the problem? 00:11:15.37\00:11:17.61 Well, you know, when you think about 00:11:17.64\00:11:19.67 the source of the problem, you know, you can go out there 00:11:19.71\00:11:22.48 and you can do all these things and try to treat the symptoms. 00:11:22.51\00:11:25.71 But, you know, you have to lay the axe at the root. 00:11:25.75\00:11:27.78 The problem is the root, 00:11:27.82\00:11:29.15 you have to deal with the root cause. 00:11:29.18\00:11:30.52 You have to deal with the root. 00:11:30.55\00:11:31.89 Right, so if you deal with the cause, 00:11:31.92\00:11:33.25 then you don't, then you deal with the problem. 00:11:33.29\00:11:34.62 A lot of times, the cure is in the cause. 00:11:34.66\00:11:38.56 You with me? Come on now... 00:11:38.59\00:11:39.93 Break that down. The cure is in the cause. 00:11:39.96\00:11:41.30 So in other words, whatever, you know, 00:11:41.33\00:11:42.66 a lot of people are running around, 00:11:42.70\00:11:44.03 they're getting, you know, blood pressure medication, 00:11:44.07\00:11:46.33 they're getting different state in drugs 00:11:46.37\00:11:48.50 to deal with the cholesterol, right? 00:11:48.54\00:11:49.87 Right. 00:11:49.90\00:11:51.24 And they never consider what the cause is. 00:11:51.27\00:11:53.38 And the cause usually is high fat foods, 00:11:53.41\00:11:56.04 foods that are high in cholesterol, 00:11:56.08\00:11:58.58 and we know that a lot of the meat products 00:11:58.61\00:12:00.85 actually bring in that low density, 00:12:00.88\00:12:03.28 which is the worst kind cholesterol 00:12:03.32\00:12:04.75 into the system and causes high cholesterol. 00:12:04.79\00:12:07.49 So if we eliminate the thing that is causing the cholesterol 00:12:07.52\00:12:11.83 the high fat in the diet, right? 00:12:11.86\00:12:14.00 Then we actually can get around to the very cure. 00:12:14.03\00:12:17.77 The very cure, so what they say, 00:12:17.80\00:12:19.27 nip it in the bud, take care of it at its root 00:12:19.30\00:12:21.70 and then you won't have, by God's grace only, 00:12:21.74\00:12:24.34 these problems anymore. 00:12:24.37\00:12:26.27 However, a lot of times, there are foods, 00:12:26.31\00:12:27.91 as you mentioned, sometimes things are pulled out 00:12:27.94\00:12:30.31 and it may need to be fortified. 00:12:30.35\00:12:31.68 That's why we encourage God's people, 00:12:31.71\00:12:33.05 make the food yourself 00:12:33.08\00:12:34.55 so it has everything that it needs. 00:12:34.58\00:12:36.15 You know exactly what's into it, 00:12:36.18\00:12:37.82 where it came from, and all of that good stuff. 00:12:37.85\00:12:39.92 So today, we're gonna look at one way to fortify our foods 00:12:39.95\00:12:44.23 but also make it really, really good. 00:12:44.26\00:12:47.10 And we have what is known as the molasses. 00:12:47.13\00:12:51.17 Spice cakes. Molasses spice cake. 00:12:51.20\00:12:53.50 'Cause molasses just tastes kind of weird. 00:12:53.54\00:12:55.60 People don't like it, 00:12:55.64\00:12:56.97 it's strong and stuff like that. 00:12:57.01\00:12:58.34 So we're gonna find a way to go ahead 00:12:58.37\00:13:00.21 and put it in the cake and make a cake out of it. 00:13:00.24\00:13:02.48 And I want you to all to check the recipe here, 00:13:02.51\00:13:04.11 write it down 00:13:04.15\00:13:05.48 'cause you don't have to suffer anymore, 00:13:05.51\00:13:06.85 you can enjoy your fortification of molasses. 00:13:06.88\00:13:09.52 Now here is the Molasses spice cake. 00:13:09.55\00:13:12.09 All you need is: 00:13:12.12\00:13:13.46 And then all you have to finish that up with is: 00:13:37.81\00:13:39.88 And here's the fortifier, 00:13:47.32\00:13:49.22 three tablespoon of Grandma's Molasses 00:13:49.26\00:13:51.66 or if you could get unsulfured blackstrap molasses, 00:13:51.69\00:13:53.70 try it too, and one tablespoon 00:13:53.73\00:13:55.66 of featherweight baking powder. 00:13:55.70\00:13:58.13 Now that was a mouthful. That's a mouthful. 00:13:58.17\00:13:59.87 We're trying to fortify stuff, it's not gonna be easy, 00:13:59.90\00:14:02.14 you know what I mean. 00:14:02.17\00:14:03.51 So all we're gonna do is get these items here together 00:14:03.54\00:14:06.34 and we're gonna make a delicious thing. 00:14:06.37\00:14:08.28 So you know a lot of times, 00:14:08.31\00:14:09.64 people take that tablespoon of molasses, 00:14:09.68\00:14:13.28 and they just force it down, 00:14:13.31\00:14:15.38 now you can take a slice of your molasses 00:14:15.42\00:14:17.25 and enjoy it there. 00:14:17.29\00:14:18.62 Isn't that nice, though? 00:14:18.65\00:14:19.99 This is powerful. Causes lot of inflammation. 00:23:07.78\00:23:10.25 Causes inflammation. In the joint. 00:23:10.29\00:23:12.09 So this thing, we want food to fortify us, 00:23:12.12\00:23:14.76 not break us down, you know what I mean. 00:23:14.79\00:23:16.49 So this is crucial now. 00:23:16.52\00:23:18.76 Now that was inside, how can this molasses, 00:23:18.79\00:23:23.40 this molasses you keep talking about, 00:23:23.43\00:23:25.53 we talked about the blackstrap, 00:23:25.57\00:23:26.90 how can this fortify us on the outside? 00:23:26.94\00:23:29.94 Well, you know what? 00:23:29.97\00:23:32.27 There are a lot of people who like to have that glow, 00:23:32.31\00:23:34.41 you know what I'm talking about? 00:23:34.44\00:23:36.34 The glow of Jesus Christ. Watch it now. 00:23:46.39\00:23:47.76 Come on, all right. You look younger, so... 00:23:47.79\00:23:49.69 I may need that, I may need that. 00:23:49.72\00:23:51.26 Right, right, 'cause you don't want, 00:23:51.29\00:23:52.93 well, I won't go there. 00:23:52.96\00:23:54.30 So anyway... 00:23:54.33\00:23:55.66 So you said, this will be good for... 00:23:55.70\00:23:57.03 I saying, this will cause you to glow. 00:23:57.07\00:24:00.57 This... 00:24:00.60\00:24:01.94 I don't think that there is any better facial that you can do, 00:24:01.97\00:24:04.91 than a blackstrap molasses or molasses facial. 00:24:04.94\00:24:07.84 So what we're gonna do is, we're gonna take the host 00:24:07.88\00:24:09.48 and we're gonna hook him up. 00:24:09.51\00:24:11.01 Me? Why? 00:24:25.23\00:24:26.56 Because once you put it on your skin, 00:24:26.59\00:24:27.93 in particular, your face, 00:24:27.96\00:24:30.53 what it's gonna do is, it's gonna pull out impurities. 00:24:30.57\00:24:34.34 Out of the skin, so your skin, after you put this on, 00:24:34.37\00:24:37.87 you keep it on for about an hour, 00:24:37.91\00:24:39.87 you'll feel the skin start to tighten, 00:24:39.91\00:24:42.84 it will start to draw out. 00:24:42.88\00:24:44.41 Brings back the elasticity as well. 00:24:44.45\00:24:46.21 It will bring the elasticity 00:24:46.25\00:24:47.75 and your face will be like a baby's bottom. 00:24:47.78\00:24:50.85 Well.
