Have you ever wondered exactly how to prepare 00:00:01.33\00:00:02.86 healthy food that actually tastes good? 00:00:02.90\00:00:05.43 Well, stay tuned while Evita Tezeno and yours truly, 00:00:05.47\00:00:07.74 Nyse Collins, 00:00:07.77\00:00:09.10 show you just how to do it and give you something better, 00:00:09.14\00:00:12.04 A Taste of Paradise. 00:00:12.07\00:00:13.68 Welcome to A Taste of Paradise. 00:00:31.63\00:00:33.76 My name is Evita Tezeno, 00:00:33.80\00:00:35.90 and are you hankering for something sweet today? 00:00:35.93\00:00:39.97 Oh, of course, you can have a piece of fruit 00:00:40.00\00:00:42.37 or even a piece of dried fruit, 00:00:42.40\00:00:44.51 but, no, I am going to show you 00:00:44.54\00:00:46.94 how to make a Creamy Carob Fudge. 00:00:47.01\00:00:51.05 And you're saying, "Evita, carob? 00:00:51.08\00:00:52.88 I like chocolate." 00:00:52.91\00:00:54.68 Well, carob is naturally sweet 00:00:54.72\00:00:58.75 and chocolate isn't. 00:00:58.79\00:01:00.96 Carob can be pulled from the tree, 00:01:00.99\00:01:03.43 the pods can be licked like a lollipop, 00:01:03.46\00:01:06.39 and the problem with chocolate, 00:01:06.43\00:01:09.20 it is not naturally sweet, 00:01:09.23\00:01:10.57 it has to be processed with milk and sugar 00:01:10.63\00:01:13.13 to make it sweet. 00:01:13.17\00:01:15.10 And the process for chocolate is a little questionable, 00:01:15.14\00:01:19.31 you can go read it on the internet for yourself, 00:01:19.34\00:01:21.44 I'm not gonna go into detail. 00:01:21.48\00:01:23.41 But carob is better for you, it's high in calcium, 00:01:23.45\00:01:26.98 and it's loaded with other great nutrients. 00:01:27.02\00:01:30.29 So the recipe for the creamy carob fudge is... 00:01:30.35\00:01:33.92 Now in most of the stores, 00:01:54.91\00:01:57.58 you will find that you will find the roasted carob 00:01:57.61\00:02:03.39 other than the raw. 00:02:03.42\00:02:04.89 And if you can't find the raw carob, 00:02:04.92\00:02:06.42 it's quite all right because both of them are great. 00:02:06.45\00:02:10.23 One has just been roasted 00:02:10.26\00:02:11.66 and the other one has not been... 00:02:11.69\00:02:14.56 They're un-roasted and the other one is roasted. 00:02:14.56\00:02:17.43 And what they do is just grind the carob pods into powder. 00:02:17.47\00:02:22.24 So what we're gonna do is, 00:02:22.27\00:02:23.91 we're gonna start with our almond butter 00:02:23.97\00:02:27.44 and also you can have 00:02:27.48\00:02:30.11 raw almond butter or roasted almonds, 00:02:30.15\00:02:33.68 and roasted almonds are not as great for you, 00:02:33.72\00:02:38.72 but if you cannot find the raw almond butter, 00:02:38.75\00:02:41.69 the roasted almond butter will be all right. 00:02:41.72\00:02:45.83 And these dates, I have soaked them, 00:02:45.86\00:02:48.90 these are medjool dates, but sometimes the dates are 00:02:48.93\00:02:53.30 harder than usual 00:02:53.37\00:02:55.04 and it's really hard on your food processor, 00:02:55.07\00:02:57.34 so I advise you to soak your dates first 00:02:57.37\00:03:00.71 and these are the 12 dates. 00:03:00.78\00:03:04.08 And this is a real, real quick and easy recipe. 00:03:04.15\00:03:10.19 This is the two tablespoons of honey. 00:03:10.22\00:03:15.29 A pinch of salt, 00:03:15.32\00:03:18.79 the cardamom and coriander, 00:03:18.83\00:03:20.83 which gives it that kind of extra kick. 00:03:20.90\00:03:24.23 And then we're gonna process this first 00:03:24.27\00:03:26.33 before we put the carob powder in. 00:03:26.37\00:03:27.90 And then the carob powder. 00:03:42.18\00:03:44.25 And what you can do with this, 00:04:07.08\00:04:09.54 you can press it into a container like so 00:04:09.58\00:04:12.98 or you can even form these into 00:04:13.01\00:04:15.55 nice little round balls like this. 00:04:15.58\00:04:19.75 And you could put nuts in it or any kind of things. 00:04:19.79\00:04:24.59 And today, what I'm gonna do is just put them into... 00:04:24.63\00:04:27.66 Make them into little balls 00:04:27.73\00:04:29.66 and you could also roll them in nuts or any kind of... 00:04:29.70\00:04:35.04 Coconut or anything. 00:04:35.07\00:04:39.84 Whatever your heart's desire, 00:04:39.87\00:04:41.28 these are good to take to the gym with you, 00:04:41.31\00:04:45.58 to take hiking. 00:04:45.61\00:04:48.68 These are just wonderful, 00:04:48.72\00:04:50.45 so we can make these like fudgy balls. 00:04:50.49\00:04:54.49 And so what I'm gonna do is, 00:04:59.96\00:05:02.26 you know, I have to taste everything I eat so... 00:05:02.30\00:05:04.37 These are so good, 00:05:11.44\00:05:15.08 they're not too sweet but they are... 00:05:15.11\00:05:19.91 They hit the spot when you want something 00:05:19.95\00:05:22.88 not too sweet, but you want that sweet 00:05:22.92\00:05:25.15 and that dense... 00:05:25.19\00:05:28.49 Really, really like them, you must try them, 00:05:28.52\00:05:32.03 and share them with a friend. 00:05:32.06\00:05:34.20 This is Evita Tezeno with A Taste of Paradise 00:05:34.20\00:05:39.47 and remember to always, live life fresh. 00:05:39.50\00:05:44.74 Wow, I mean, literally those are dangerously tasty. 00:05:52.58\00:05:56.22 I just had some actually a little bit earlier today, 00:05:56.25\00:05:58.99 those creamy carob fudge or carob creamy fudge, 00:05:59.02\00:06:02.62 whatever it is, it was good and we figured, man, 00:06:02.66\00:06:04.89 we are in the dessert mood today. 00:06:04.93\00:06:06.83 Let's just continue along with that. 00:06:06.86\00:06:09.16 Today, we have a special, special program 00:06:09.20\00:06:11.20 and it's called "For Ladies Only," 00:06:11.23\00:06:12.83 the skin edition and I think for those 00:06:12.87\00:06:14.84 who have been good frequent viewers 00:06:14.87\00:06:16.74 or watchers of the program, 00:06:16.81\00:06:18.34 they know what I'm talking about, 00:06:18.37\00:06:19.71 because before we've done a "For Ladies Only" program, 00:06:19.74\00:06:22.14 and I have a special guest who did it, 00:06:22.18\00:06:24.05 It does. 00:23:19.63\00:23:21.96 I know about moisture, 00:23:22.00\00:23:23.33 'cause when we make the porridge 00:23:23.37\00:23:26.80 or the oat meal in the morning, 00:23:26.84\00:23:28.54 it's like really sticky and all that stuff, 00:23:28.57\00:23:30.37 so that actually replenishes the skin. 00:23:30.41\00:23:32.51 It does. Very nice. 00:23:32.54\00:23:33.94 So how do we make it here? 00:23:33.98\00:23:35.38 All right, so we have our oats already 00:23:35.41\00:23:37.98 and we have some water here, so it calls for a cup of water. 00:23:38.01\00:23:40.58 All right. 00:23:40.62\00:23:41.95 So you take, this is regular raw oats? 00:23:41.98\00:23:43.35 Yeah, regular raw quick oats.
