Have you ever wondered exactly how to prepare 00:00:01.36\00:00:02.93 healthy food that actually tastes good? 00:00:02.96\00:00:05.50 Well, stay tuned while Evita Tezeno and yours truly, 00:00:05.53\00:00:07.80 Nyse Collins, 00:00:07.84\00:00:09.17 show you just how to do it and give you something better, 00:00:09.20\00:00:12.11 A Taste of Paradise. 00:00:12.14\00:00:13.74 Welcome to A Taste of Paradise. 00:00:31.69\00:00:33.83 My name is Evita Tezeno, 00:00:33.86\00:00:36.00 and are you hankering for something sweet today? 00:00:36.03\00:00:40.04 Oh, of course, you can have a piece of fruit 00:00:40.07\00:00:42.47 or even a piece of dried fruit, 00:00:42.50\00:00:44.61 but, no, I am going to show you 00:00:44.64\00:00:47.04 how to make a Creamy Carob Fudge. 00:00:47.08\00:00:51.15 And you're saying, "Evita, carob? 00:00:51.18\00:00:52.98 I like chocolate." 00:00:53.01\00:00:54.78 Well, carob is naturally sweet 00:00:54.82\00:00:58.85 and chocolate isn't. 00:00:58.89\00:01:00.99 Carob can be pulled from the tree, 00:01:01.02\00:01:03.43 the pods can be licked like a lollipop, 00:01:03.46\00:01:06.43 and the problem with chocolate, 00:01:06.46\00:01:09.26 it is not naturally sweet, 00:01:09.30\00:01:10.63 it has to be processed with milk and sugar 00:01:10.67\00:01:13.20 to make it sweet. 00:01:13.23\00:01:15.17 And the process for chocolate is a little questionable, 00:01:15.20\00:01:19.37 you can go read it on the internet for yourself, 00:01:19.41\00:01:21.51 I'm not gonna go into detail. 00:01:21.54\00:01:23.45 But carob is better for you, it's high in calcium, 00:01:23.48\00:01:27.05 and it's loaded with other great nutrients. 00:01:27.08\00:01:30.35 So the recipe for the creamy carob fudge is... 00:01:30.39\00:01:33.96 Now in most of the stores, 00:01:55.01\00:01:57.68 you will find that you will find the roasted carob 00:01:57.71\00:02:03.39 other than the raw. 00:02:03.42\00:02:04.92 And if you can't find the raw carob, 00:02:04.95\00:02:06.45 it's quite all right because both of them are great. 00:02:06.49\00:02:10.23 One has just been roasted 00:02:10.26\00:02:11.69 and the other one has not been... 00:02:11.73\00:02:14.60 They're un-roasted and the other one is roasted. 00:02:14.63\00:02:17.50 And what they do is just grind the carob pods into powder. 00:02:17.53\00:02:22.30 So what we're gonna do is, 00:02:22.34\00:02:23.97 we're gonna start with our almond butter 00:02:24.01\00:02:27.51 and also you can have 00:02:27.54\00:02:30.18 raw almond butter or roasted almonds, 00:02:30.21\00:02:33.75 and roasted almonds are not as great for you, 00:02:33.78\00:02:38.79 but if you cannot find the raw almond butter, 00:02:38.82\00:02:41.76 the roasted almond butter will be all right. 00:02:41.79\00:02:45.89 And these dates, I have soaked them, 00:02:45.93\00:02:49.00 these are medjool dates, but sometimes the dates are 00:02:49.03\00:02:53.40 harder than usual 00:02:53.44\00:02:55.14 and it's really hard on your food processor, 00:02:55.17\00:02:57.44 so I advise you to soak your dates first 00:02:57.47\00:03:00.74 and these are the 12 dates. 00:03:00.78\00:03:04.11 And this is a real, real quick and easy recipe. 00:03:04.15\00:03:10.22 This is the two tablespoons of honey. 00:03:10.25\00:03:15.32 A pinch of salt, 00:03:15.36\00:03:18.83 the cardamom and coriander, 00:03:18.86\00:03:20.86 which gives it that kind of extra kick. 00:03:20.90\00:03:24.27 And then we're gonna process this first 00:03:24.30\00:03:26.40 before we put the carob powder in. 00:03:26.43\00:03:27.97 And then the carob powder. 00:03:42.25\00:03:44.29 And what you can do with this, 00:04:07.11\00:04:09.58 you can press it into a container like so 00:04:09.61\00:04:13.01 or you can even form these into 00:04:13.05\00:04:15.58 nice little round balls like this. 00:04:15.62\00:04:19.79 And you could put nuts in it or any kind of things. 00:04:19.82\00:04:24.63 And today, what I'm gonna do is just put them into... 00:04:24.66\00:04:27.73 Make them into little balls 00:04:27.76\00:04:29.73 and you could also roll them in nuts or any kind of... 00:04:29.76\00:04:35.10 Coconut or anything. 00:04:35.14\00:04:39.91 Whatever your heart's desire, 00:04:39.94\00:04:41.34 these are good to take to the gym with you, 00:04:41.38\00:04:45.65 to take hiking. 00:04:45.68\00:04:48.75 These are just wonderful, 00:04:48.78\00:04:50.52 so we can make these like fudgy balls. 00:04:50.55\00:04:54.56 And so what I'm gonna do is, 00:05:00.03\00:05:02.30 you know, I have to taste everything I eat so... 00:05:02.33\00:05:04.40 These are so good, 00:05:11.47\00:05:15.11 they're not too sweet but they are... 00:05:15.14\00:05:19.95 They hit the spot when you want something 00:05:19.98\00:05:22.92 not too sweet, but you want that sweet 00:05:22.95\00:05:25.19 and that dense... 00:05:25.22\00:05:28.52 Really, really like them, you must try them, 00:05:28.56\00:05:32.06 and share them with a friend. 00:05:32.09\00:05:34.20 This is Evita Tezeno with A Taste of Paradise 00:05:34.23\00:05:39.53 and remember to always, live life fresh. 00:05:39.57\00:05:44.81 Wow, I mean, literally those are dangerously tasty. 00:05:52.65\00:05:56.28 I just had some actually a little bit earlier today, 00:05:56.32\00:05:59.05 those creamy carob fudge or carob creamy fudge, 00:05:59.09\00:06:02.62 whatever it is, it was good and we figured, man, 00:06:02.66\00:06:04.89 we are in the dessert mood today. 00:06:04.93\00:06:06.80 Let's just continue along with that. 00:06:06.83\00:06:09.20 Today, we have a special, special program 00:06:09.23\00:06:11.23 and it's called "For Ladies Only," 00:06:11.27\00:06:12.87 the skin edition and I think for those 00:06:12.90\00:06:14.87 who have been good frequent viewers 00:06:14.90\00:06:16.77 or watchers of the program, 00:06:16.81\00:06:18.37 they know what I'm talking about, 00:06:18.41\00:06:19.74 because before we've done a "For Ladies Only" program, 00:06:19.77\00:06:22.18 and I have a special guest who did it, 00:06:22.21\00:06:24.05 It does. 00:23:19.66\00:23:22.03 I know about moisture, 00:23:22.06\00:23:23.40 'cause when we make the porridge 00:23:23.43\00:23:26.84 or the oat meal in the morning, 00:23:26.87\00:23:28.60 it's like really sticky and all that stuff, 00:23:28.64\00:23:30.41 so that actually replenishes the skin. 00:23:30.44\00:23:32.57 It does. Very nice. 00:23:32.61\00:23:33.98 So how do we make it here? 00:23:34.01\00:23:35.44 All right, so we have our oats already 00:23:35.48\00:23:38.05 and we have some water here, so it calls for a cup of water. 00:23:38.08\00:23:40.65 All right. 00:23:40.68\00:23:42.02 So you take, this is regular raw oats? 00:23:42.05\00:23:43.39 Yeah, regular raw quick oats.
