Have you ever wondered exactly how to prepare healthy food that 00:00:01.36\00:00:04.27 actually tastes good. Well stay tuned while Evita Tezeno 00:00:04.30\00:00:07.94 and yours truly, Nyse Collins, show you just how to do it 00:00:07.97\00:00:10.87 and give you something better. A Taste of Paradise. 00:00:10.91\00:00:14.08 Welcome to A Taste of Paradise My name is Evita Tezeno 00:00:29.66\00:00:34.46 And today we're going to be making an Eggplant Bacon 00:00:34.50\00:00:40.94 And I have a special guest today. I have my friend 00:00:40.97\00:00:44.94 Yvonne Lewis. Hey Evita, Hi, how you doing? 00:00:44.97\00:00:49.28 I'm so glad to be here. I'm not the queen of the kitchen ok 00:00:50.25\00:00:53.38 Ok. So to observe how you do the raw food thing, I'm excited. 00:00:53.42\00:00:58.19 And I bought some eggplant recently. Really? 00:00:58.22\00:01:01.46 And I don't know what to do with it. So show me. 00:01:01.49\00:01:03.29 Well a lot of people don't know what to do with eggplant 00:01:03.32\00:01:06.06 So this is a quick and easy way to get eggplant in your diet. 00:01:06.09\00:01:11.50 Because you know I teach "Eat the Rainbow" 00:01:11.53\00:01:15.20 So here you get a chance to eat a purple item 00:01:15.24\00:01:19.31 Purple food item. What does that do? 00:01:19.34\00:01:21.48 It has Vitamin E, Vitamin K 00:01:23.24\00:01:27.75 And also it has the white flesh as well 00:01:27.78\00:01:32.15 It has Vitamin C in it. Oh good! 00:01:32.19\00:01:35.92 We're going to start off by peeling our eggplant 00:01:35.96\00:01:41.20 And do you always peel it or... 00:01:41.23\00:01:44.07 do you sometimes leave the peel in on it? 00:01:44.10\00:01:46.30 When you're doing raw you have to peel it because it gets 00:01:46.33\00:01:49.57 like leather. Oh ok. Because we're gonna dehydrate the recipe 00:01:49.60\00:01:53.14 So you have to peel it in order to use the flesh inside 00:01:53.17\00:01:58.88 It's kind of a stubborn thing to peel. So we gonna just 00:01:58.91\00:02:05.12 peel it like so. 00:02:05.15\00:02:08.76 Is there anything you do with the peel or discard it? 00:02:08.79\00:02:12.09 Just throw it away. Oh ok. 00:02:12.13\00:02:13.46 Yeah, there's nothing you can do with the peel. 00:02:13.50\00:02:15.76 So we gonna, we're almost done peeling it and we gonna take 00:02:17.90\00:02:21.50 the top of it off. We're gonna discard that. 00:02:21.54\00:02:25.24 And we're using the tool, this is called the Mandolin 00:02:25.27\00:02:30.68 Ah. Oh I've seen you use it. Yes. 00:02:30.71\00:02:32.91 And it gives you even slices. 00:02:33.72\00:02:38.82 And you just do it like that and you see the slices there? 00:02:44.26\00:02:47.20 Yeah. This is pretty amazing. 00:02:47.23\00:02:49.26 This eggplant is a little stubborn. Uh huh. 00:02:51.93\00:02:55.27 You've got to coax it along. 00:02:55.30\00:02:57.67 I don't know recently I've been kinda craving eggplant. Really? 00:03:01.88\00:03:05.61 Yeah I love it, and cook some with onions, garlic 00:03:05.65\00:03:11.52 Oh yeah. I love that. 00:03:11.55\00:03:14.99 And of course you can make a vegan cheese 00:03:16.32\00:03:18.79 and eggplant parmesan. Of course we're talking raw now 00:03:18.83\00:03:21.83 Yes, let me go back to raw 00:03:21.86\00:03:24.20 Let's come back to raw please. 00:03:24.23\00:03:26.50 Well we have our eggplant. Uh huh 00:03:27.04\00:03:29.37 And it's real thin. It's very thin. 00:03:29.40\00:03:32.37 And you know I forgot my cutting board 00:03:33.51\00:03:38.41 So I'm gonna use this. Sure, sure. 00:03:38.45\00:03:42.75 So we have to improvise. We're gonna improvise 00:03:42.78\00:03:46.76 We're going to use the container we're going to marinate it in 00:03:46.79\00:03:52.83 Okay. So we just take the eggplant and we stack it 00:03:52.86\00:03:57.50 and we cut it in halves. 00:03:57.53\00:03:59.13 Because we want it to resemble bacon. 00:03:59.17\00:04:02.00 Oh ok. Yeah. We want it to resemble it. 00:04:02.04\00:04:05.64 So we put the eggplant in here 00:04:05.67\00:04:09.14 And you said bacon, you have a recipe for this? 00:04:09.18\00:04:12.11 Oh yes. The ingredients for the eggplant bacon 00:04:12.15\00:04:15.22 Now we're gonna use my favorite tool the Vitamix 00:04:45.65\00:04:48.82 If you don't have a Vitamix you can use a blender 00:04:48.85\00:04:53.29 but you have to blend it a little longer 00:04:53.32\00:04:56.09 Now the chipotle pepper, what does that do? 00:05:00.20\00:05:02.30 Does it make it hot, or It makes it hot and smoky 00:05:02.33\00:05:06.03 Oh. This is uh...because I use some ingredients 00:05:06.07\00:05:10.91 that are not raw, this is one of the ingredients that is not 00:05:10.94\00:05:14.44 This is a smoked, red jalapeno pepper. 00:05:14.48\00:05:17.65 And it has been smoked and dried 00:05:19.15\00:05:21.82 I'm going to salivate (laughter) 00:05:21.85\00:05:24.25 We should get a tissue or something... 00:05:25.72\00:05:28.59 And we have maple syrup and this gives it a kinda sweet taste 00:05:28.62\00:05:33.96 Right. So you have the sweet smoky thing going on? 00:05:34.00\00:05:37.07 Sweet and salty, just like bacon 00:05:37.10\00:05:40.47 Ok, ok. But an animal didn't have to die. 00:05:40.50\00:05:43.47 And we use this chipotle pepper 00:05:46.07\00:05:49.88 Can you get that from just a regular store? 00:05:49.91\00:05:52.45 Yes you could get dried chipotle peppers from a regular store 00:05:52.48\00:05:56.42 We have olive oil 00:05:57.65\00:05:59.85 This is cumin, mmm 00:06:01.39\00:06:03.56 smoked paprika 00:06:09.16\00:06:11.63 And garlic 00:06:11.67\00:06:14.07 Can't forget the garlic, uh huh 00:06:14.10\00:06:16.00 It's a great, great ingredient 00:06:16.04\00:06:20.88 Now this is a real quick recipe. You see we just blend it 00:06:33.12\00:06:36.93 You just pour the marinade over 00:06:36.96\00:06:41.36 And I always like to get my fingers in the food 00:06:43.57\00:06:47.94 So you want to make sure it's all distributed 00:06:47.97\00:06:54.28 Just in case the viewers don't know, you always wash your hands 00:06:56.01\00:06:59.91 Yes, you always wash your hands 00:06:59.95\00:07:02.28 I keep soap and water and always wash my hands. 00:07:04.52\00:07:08.89 Because you know some viewers are kind of...yeah, yeah 00:07:09.96\00:07:13.50 I guess you can use some tongs if you don't wanna put your hand 00:07:13.53\00:07:18.23 But you know I love to put my hands in the food. 00:07:18.27\00:07:22.24 So you want to make sure that you marinate, you cover every 00:07:22.27\00:07:28.48 slice with the chipotle mixture 00:07:28.51\00:07:33.18 and you want to cover this and put it in the fridge overnight 00:07:34.55\00:07:37.25 So good right now. Yes, okay 00:07:37.29\00:07:39.72 You stick this in the fridge overnight 00:07:39.75\00:07:44.49 The next day you get a dehydrator sheet 00:07:49.10\00:07:54.24 and then you lay, one strip at a time. Okay 00:07:54.27\00:07:59.01 on the dehydrator sheet. You want to dehydrate it overnight 00:07:59.04\00:08:03.28 So let me get it straight in my head. So you put it in the 00:08:04.38\00:08:07.35 refrigerator one night. And then the next night 00:08:07.38\00:08:10.75 And the next day you dehydrate it. So you could do it in the 00:08:10.79\00:08:15.02 evening before you go to bed and make sure that 00:08:15.06\00:08:19.79 you put it in the refrigerator and when you wake up in the 00:08:19.83\00:08:23.33 morning, right before you go to work you can stick this 00:08:23.37\00:08:26.63 in the dehydrator. Ok. And it can dehydrate all day while 00:08:26.67\00:08:30.31 you're at work. Ok, good. If you can you do that 00:08:30.34\00:08:33.07 Because the energy with the dehydrator is very low 00:08:33.11\00:08:36.34 Very very low. The energy usage is very low. 00:08:36.38\00:08:40.15 And it doesn't pull a lot of energy. Okay 00:08:41.18\00:08:43.99 So after it has been dehydrating overnight 00:08:44.02\00:08:46.72 Look at that! Does that look like it or what? 00:08:47.79\00:08:51.33 Okay. Can you taste this? 00:08:52.13\00:08:54.16 Now, come on you know me You know I do want to taste 00:08:54.20\00:08:58.03 Here you go, taste it, taste it 00:08:58.07\00:08:59.70 Mmmm, and its chewy. You're gonna like that. 00:09:04.44\00:09:11.21 Now guess what I made? What did you make? 00:09:12.91\00:09:15.18 Come on, made a sandwich 00:09:15.22\00:09:19.05 Oh this is good. I can see me snacking on this 00:09:19.95\00:09:24.49 When you want a little spicy snack 00:09:24.53\00:09:26.49 If you're traveling, because it's dehydrated 00:09:26.53\00:09:31.87 it doesn't have to be refrigerated. So you could put 00:09:31.90\00:09:34.04 it in a zip lock bag and it could be like jerky. 00:09:34.07\00:09:36.81 Like jerky, like jerky 00:09:36.84\00:09:38.17 This is, you know what? The viewers need to know 00:09:38.21\00:09:41.18 that the crew, after we do all these segments the crew comes in 00:09:41.21\00:09:46.18 alright so I'm getting first dibs at this. 00:09:46.21\00:09:48.48 Laughter. I just want the crew to know. 00:09:48.52\00:09:50.75 I get first dibs. 00:09:50.79\00:09:52.52 Oh this is so good. I want another piece. 00:09:52.55\00:09:55.79 I've made a sandwich. In one of our previous episodes 00:09:57.29\00:10:01.30 I made some raw bread 00:10:01.33\00:10:03.26 and so I made it ELT instead of BLT 00:10:03.30\00:10:07.27 I love it, I love it. An ELT 00:10:07.30\00:10:10.01 Oh that is so neat. You can put a cashew mayo 00:10:10.04\00:10:15.04 on here, or you could put some raw cheese that I made in the 00:10:15.08\00:10:18.61 previous episode and you have a sandwich. 00:10:18.65\00:10:21.58 That's awesome. This is all plant based 00:10:21.62\00:10:24.29 Gluten free and it's delicious 00:10:24.32\00:10:29.02 It's delicious. I'm telling you it's delicious. 00:10:29.06\00:10:32.43 I know, I'm so excited 00:10:33.73\00:10:36.06 Oh yeah, me too. Me too. 00:10:36.10\00:10:37.70 Well thank you Evita for showing me this. 00:10:37.73\00:10:39.83 Well thank you for coming to help me. This is good 00:10:39.87\00:10:41.80 This is Evita Tezeno. Remember to live life fresh! 00:10:43.07\00:10:48.34 Breakfast, never leave home without it. 00:10:55.98\00:10:59.42 You know there's a lot of credit cards out there 00:10:59.45\00:11:01.09 they say you shouldn't leave without them 00:11:01.12\00:11:02.76 That's maybe because they want you to eat breakfast out there 00:11:02.79\00:11:05.13 and use your money. But you should eat at home 00:11:05.16\00:11:07.66 Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. 00:11:07.70\00:11:10.37 We already know that. It's nothing new but many times 00:11:10.40\00:11:12.93 what do we do? We skip breakfast and as a result we suffer 00:11:12.97\00:11:16.97 throughout the day. So none of that anymore. Today we gonna do 00:11:17.01\00:11:19.64 something special. You've already seen a fantastic 00:11:19.67\00:11:22.04 recipe. No more of this you need to go and buy bacon 00:11:22.08\00:11:26.51 some use Turkey Bacon I know what you talkin about 00:11:26.55\00:11:28.98 But today we gonna do something special to add on to that 00:11:29.02\00:11:32.35 Evita did the ELT or the bacon the eggplant bacon. Now we 00:11:32.85\00:11:40.23 gonna go ahead. You just can't have the bacon alone, you need 00:11:40.26\00:11:42.60 some eggs to go along with that 00:11:42.63\00:11:43.97 So we have a special recipe. But let me get back to this 00:11:44.00\00:11:46.43 breakfast thing. Because this is crucial, crucial, crucial 00:11:46.47\00:11:49.20 A lot of times we wonder why we can't balance our blessing 00:11:49.24\00:11:53.88 Y'all know what that means. We don't say nobody is fat 00:11:53.91\00:11:56.38 or skinny. Some are over blessed and some are under blessed 00:11:56.41\00:11:59.21 And we try this diet and we're good for two weeks and we 00:11:59.25\00:12:03.79 crash and we're in the same situation probably if not worse 00:12:03.82\00:12:06.96 Then we try this, we buy this new machine and we do this 00:12:06.99\00:12:10.29 and we do that and nothing seems to work. 00:12:10.33\00:12:12.46 Well you know what the information is free 00:12:12.49\00:12:14.93 Like I said you already know it. 00:12:14.96\00:12:16.30 If you just start having breakfast 00:12:16.33\00:12:19.07 Everything will be added or taken away from you 00:12:19.10\00:12:23.41 You know what I'm talkin about, right? 00:12:23.44\00:12:24.77 So what we wanna do is focus on that and why is breakfast 00:12:24.81\00:12:27.98 so crucial. It's almost like when you're about to drive 00:12:28.01\00:12:30.85 your car to work. Let's say the car is on empty 00:12:30.88\00:12:35.05 When do you put gas in the car? Do you put it when you 00:12:35.08\00:12:37.89 get to work or do you put it on your way to work? 00:12:37.92\00:12:41.79 Now everybody's like come on Nyse are you kidding me 00:12:41.82\00:12:43.99 what kinda question is that? It's like the worst question 00:12:44.03\00:12:45.59 around town. Because if we don't put it in on our way there, we 00:12:45.63\00:12:49.93 may never make it there. Hello. That means we're actually 00:12:49.96\00:12:53.50 taking better care of our cars then we're taking care of 00:12:53.54\00:12:56.47 this body. At least if I go, if I don't put gas in the car 00:12:56.50\00:13:01.01 y'know some of y'all. You live kinda on that E line whatever 00:13:01.04\00:13:05.41 and I'm talkin about myself to be honest with you 00:13:05.45\00:13:07.35 I just keep drivin. For some reason I think like I'm just 00:13:07.38\00:13:10.29 gonna, I guess it's a challenge for me. How long can I drive 00:13:10.32\00:13:13.36 on E, you know what I mean? 00:13:13.39\00:13:14.72 And a lot of us are driving on E all the time. 00:13:14.76\00:13:17.43 Well let's say we did run out of gas in our car 00:13:17.46\00:13:19.66 We'll call up Roadside Service or something of that nature 00:13:19.69\00:13:22.73 or your friend, your buddy. Hey come and get me. 00:13:22.76\00:13:24.93 Yes they will be inconvenienced a little bit but you'll get 00:13:24.97\00:13:27.54 right back and rollin. Now let me tell you something here 00:13:27.57\00:13:30.41 When this runs out of gas there's no call roadside service 00:13:30.44\00:13:35.44 call a friend anymore. It's call 911. 00:13:35.48\00:13:39.25 And unfortunately that body doesn't work like the car 00:13:39.28\00:13:43.79 Let's say the car was messed up 00:13:43.82\00:13:45.59 You can always buy another one and replace it. 00:13:45.62\00:13:47.46 But this here, you can't buy another one. 00:13:47.49\00:13:49.92 It's already been paid for you. But what we need to do is take 00:13:49.96\00:13:52.89 care of it. And how do we do that? Let's focus 00:13:52.93\00:13:56.46 You know how we're like supposed to spend time with God 00:13:56.50\00:13:58.37 every morning? Spiritual food is the most important thing 00:13:58.40\00:14:00.90 If you don't do that what's gonna happen? You find yourself 00:14:00.94\00:14:03.10 angry at people, no patience, no love or anything of that 00:14:03.14\00:14:05.77 nature. It's the same thing with breakfast. You miss out on 00:14:05.81\00:14:08.11 on breakfast and all of a sudden donuts seem like the best thing 00:14:08.14\00:14:11.21 around town. You miss breakfast you're livin by the vending 00:14:11.25\00:14:14.05 machine. You miss breakfast, you're stopping by every 00:14:14.08\00:14:15.75 fast food spot on the road. And so as a result we need to 00:14:15.78\00:14:20.59 we need to focus on this. Also what happens because you 00:14:20.62\00:14:24.43 miss that energy in the morning you're gonna start doin this 00:14:24.46\00:14:27.26 all throughout the day. You know eatin all the time a lot 00:14:27.30\00:14:30.13 of snacks and stuff of that nature. 00:14:30.17\00:14:31.67 One of my friends shared this with me. He says, there's only 00:14:31.70\00:14:34.74 one or two animals that eat and snack all day and they 00:14:34.77\00:14:37.71 hang out on the farm. He says if you snack all day you end up 00:14:37.74\00:14:40.74 looking like a what? Did I hear somebody say cow? No I didn't 00:14:40.78\00:14:44.81 say it, you all said that. But what happens is, as a result 00:14:44.85\00:14:48.28 if you look to balance your blessings what you need to do 00:14:48.32\00:14:51.05 is have set meal times, especially breakfast 00:14:51.09\00:14:54.22 put the gas in properly, you know what I'm talkin about 00:14:54.26\00:14:56.99 the fuel for the day, and then space out your meals 00:14:57.03\00:15:00.60 5-6 hours, some say 4 but just follow the principles 00:15:00.63\00:15:04.00 there and do not eat in between the meals. Drink what? Water 00:15:04.03\00:15:08.27 But the key is breakfast again We need to do this. 00:15:08.30\00:15:11.37 So what're we gonna do? We gonna add a little extra 00:15:11.41\00:15:14.11 we're gonna add some protein to that there. We already got 00:15:14.14\00:15:17.08 the eggplant bacon and so we're gonna do a fantastic recipe 00:15:17.11\00:15:20.88 And it's called Scrambled T'eggs. 00:15:20.92\00:15:24.29 Y'all know what I'm talkin about? Scrambled T'eggs 00:15:24.32\00:15:26.32 Yes, not eggs but scrambled T'eggs. Tofu 00:15:26.35\00:15:29.12 And it's real simple. Everybody can do this. You can knock it 00:16:07.36\00:16:10.20 out in several minutes but I know some people like, what? 00:16:10.23\00:16:13.17 Tofu? I'm just tired of this Tofu stuff. As a matter of fact 00:16:13.20\00:16:17.14 I just read this thing and some body said, it's no good for you 00:16:17.17\00:16:20.38 it's causing this problem and it's causing that problem 00:16:20.41\00:16:22.74 Well I'm going to call a time out. 00:16:22.78\00:16:24.48 I'm done with this 'he said, she said' stuff 00:16:24.51\00:16:27.08 Everybody's sayin somethin these days 00:16:27.12\00:16:29.02 Why don't we start studying for ourselves because as a matter 00:16:29.05\00:16:31.39 of fact you'll find out that soy is one of the best beans 00:16:31.42\00:16:36.22 we call it a super legume. That means it is like fantastic 00:16:36.26\00:16:40.56 like nothing could mess with it. This thing is amazin 00:16:40.60\00:16:43.50 And so tofu is actually pretty good for you. But there's an old 00:16:43.53\00:16:47.97 sayin, when in doubt leave it out and I'm gonna explain 00:16:48.00\00:16:50.14 and as we start cookin here I'm gonna tell you a little 00:16:50.17\00:16:52.21 bit about tofu to get rid of these myths and different items 00:16:52.24\00:16:57.31 then don't even take my word for it go and study for yourself 00:16:57.35\00:17:00.28 But let's at least get the recipe going 00:17:00.32\00:17:02.65 I know we'll talk a little bit more. All you wanna do 00:17:02.68\00:17:04.99 is get your nice, good tofu here and you wanna kinda dry 00:17:05.02\00:17:09.79 it out a little bit and you all know how to do this. You can do 00:17:09.82\00:17:12.19 with this, you can do it with a nice clean cloth. You wanna get 00:17:12.23\00:17:15.73 as much of the moisture out as you see. 00:17:15.76\00:17:19.60 And this will actually cut down your cooking time cause a lot 00:17:19.63\00:17:22.54 of the time that it takes to make the scrambled t'eggs 00:17:22.57\00:17:25.57 Yes scrambled t'eggs not scrambled eggs 00:17:25.61\00:17:27.81 A lot of times we've been using the regular names and 00:17:27.84\00:17:31.35 I fool people. People don't like to be fooled 00:17:31.38\00:17:33.31 Tell 'em it's different alright? 00:17:33.35\00:17:34.68 And what you do is you take this and you see this is extra firm 00:17:34.72\00:17:39.15 one. Extra firm tofu, look at that. I could even do a little 00:17:39.19\00:17:42.79 exercise with it here. I know y'all don't want my hands 00:17:42.82\00:17:45.49 all over your food but that's alright, this is mine today. 00:17:45.53\00:17:47.70 you make your own at home. What you do is you take that and 00:17:47.73\00:17:51.87 you crumble it ok? We gonna crumble it over and eventually 00:17:51.90\00:17:56.84 I'll go ahead and turn on the fire here 00:17:56.87\00:17:59.24 So you get what you crumbled that over so it's nice and 00:17:59.27\00:18:03.95 look at me havin a blast, have the kids in here 00:18:03.98\00:18:06.51 They're gonna love this. You're gonna have tofu all over 00:18:06.55\00:18:08.95 the place but that's alright, as long as they're having fun 00:18:08.98\00:18:12.05 So you go ahead, you get that nice and, ah here's my item 00:18:12.09\00:18:17.53 then we gonna get this fire going because this is crucial 00:18:17.56\00:18:21.80 what you wanna do, get the heat a little high. 00:18:21.83\00:18:24.20 If you can have a non stick pan. If you don't have one no problem 00:18:24.23\00:18:27.50 What you do if you don't have that non stick pan, you just 00:18:27.54\00:18:29.80 go ahead and take that nice little oil, this is olive oil 00:18:29.84\00:18:33.11 you put that right there 00:18:33.14\00:18:34.94 uh you get that rolling. What you want is to get the excess 00:18:35.84\00:18:40.05 moisture out. Now because I've squeezed, as you see, most of 00:18:40.08\00:18:43.52 that liquid out you don't have to worry about it, this is gonna 00:18:43.55\00:18:46.89 actually cook pretty fast. Who knows maybe even before we're 00:18:46.92\00:18:49.69 done. But I already did one in advance for you all, so you 00:18:49.72\00:18:52.69 gonna get that goin. Then a quick little tip that we can 00:18:52.73\00:18:56.30 start usin, as you know, people will say, well tofu don't have 00:18:56.33\00:19:00.17 no taste. Well obviously it's just tofu. But that's actually 00:19:00.20\00:19:04.11 a good thing. Why is that a good thing? 00:19:04.14\00:19:05.64 Because you could give it whatever flavor you want. 00:19:05.67\00:19:08.21 If you know a lot of foods that we use 00:19:08.24\00:19:10.68 they have their own flavor and now you don't have to worry 00:19:10.71\00:19:14.02 about this because if you want something sweet, if you want 00:19:14.05\00:19:16.89 something savory, if you like it this way or that way 00:19:16.92\00:19:19.39 Tofu is fantastic because it takes on whatever flavor 00:19:19.42\00:19:22.76 you give it. And so what we gonna do, because it takes 00:19:22.79\00:19:27.36 a little time to, how can I put it? Because it takes a 00:19:27.40\00:19:31.97 little time to take that flavor what you gonna do is just add 00:19:32.00\00:19:36.10 a little pinch of salt ok, so I'm gonna put a pinch of salt 00:19:36.14\00:19:38.87 just to get that going so it can soak and saturate into it. 00:19:38.91\00:19:43.48 I know I could give you, say 1 teaspoon or whatever, we already 00:19:43.51\00:19:46.38 said how much it needs but just get that going early 00:19:46.41\00:19:50.79 ok? You wanna get that goin early so it can start to soak in 00:19:50.82\00:19:55.19 Another thing that we wanna do gettin it rolling early 00:19:55.22\00:19:58.16 is the other seasonings, ok? What we've done is 00:19:58.19\00:20:02.26 I've just taken all the seasonings and just mixed it all 00:20:02.30\00:20:04.97 up in advance. You could separate seasonings 00:20:05.00\00:20:08.74 But what happens is, how can I put it, if you don't add it 00:20:08.77\00:20:13.88 properly you're gonna get like a bunch of nutritional yeast 00:20:13.91\00:20:16.61 in one spot. So I like to mix all of my dry ingredients up 00:20:16.64\00:20:20.78 first, these are dry ingredients so I mix that up, if you notice 00:20:20.82\00:20:24.69 I went ahead and left out the turmeric cause I wanna put that 00:20:24.72\00:20:28.16 in early so I can get that color 00:20:28.19\00:20:30.36 Here's a quick little item if you noticed. Sometimes 00:20:30.39\00:20:33.09 you know you're rushin and you're cookin and 00:20:33.13\00:20:36.20 it's like the, the, the air is like comin up and the 00:20:36.23\00:20:41.10 moisture is comin up, so here's a little quick thing I do 00:20:41.14\00:20:43.54 when I add it I just go around and spin a little bit 00:20:43.57\00:20:46.61 now why am I doin that? Because when the humidity gets in 00:20:46.64\00:20:51.78 so your bottle you know next time you go back for the 00:20:51.81\00:20:54.88 turmeric or you go back for the salt it's all stuck and you're 00:20:54.92\00:20:57.62 like bangin it and doing all these crazy stuff. It's because 00:20:57.65\00:21:00.32 that air went in. So as I moved around now don't do this at home 00:21:00.36\00:21:03.53 but it's just a little thing that I do. 00:21:03.56\00:21:05.59 Quick fun, a little item that you can try as well 00:21:05.63\00:21:08.73 Just make sure the kids are not around. You don't wanna 00:21:08.76\00:21:10.50 knock anybody and burn them neither. 00:21:10.53\00:21:13.37 So get that going. 00:21:13.40\00:21:15.94 As you see there this is gonna be delicious. 00:21:17.27\00:21:20.24 And then you take the rest of the dry ingredients 00:21:20.28\00:21:23.04 and we're gonna add that. As a matter of fact these ingredients 00:21:24.88\00:21:28.72 are so good. I'm gonna put some in right now 00:21:28.75\00:21:30.82 Cause I'm gonna add, I want the onion and bell peppers 00:21:31.55\00:21:35.72 to get in there nicely. As you see it's quite a bit, I'm not 00:21:35.76\00:21:38.16 actually gonna put all of it 00:21:38.19\00:21:39.53 You don't have to. You can eve save that. What that basically 00:21:40.13\00:21:43.73 that nice little seasoning that we just did there 00:21:43.77\00:21:45.77 that's basically almost chicken style seasoning. 00:21:45.80\00:21:49.14 So you can keep some of that. Then I'm gonna add onion 00:21:50.34\00:21:54.18 and enjoy it. As a matter of fact add garlic if you want 00:21:54.21\00:21:57.85 red bell peppers, really simple, really easy. 00:21:57.88\00:22:02.48 and you get that goin there. Now the key is you have to let 00:22:03.45\00:22:06.32 this dry out quite a bit ok? So I'm gonna mix it there nicely 00:22:06.35\00:22:10.19 And you have to keep an eye on it of course 00:22:10.23\00:22:12.86 Then I'm gonna add a little extra seasoning there 00:22:12.89\00:22:16.23 Now this is my scrambled t'eggs. Let's get back to this whole 00:22:18.13\00:22:22.00 subject of the tofu and stuff 00:22:22.04\00:22:25.24 Lot of people crying and complaining, ah the tofu has 00:22:25.27\00:22:28.74 this related to female problems it's worsening menopause 00:22:28.78\00:22:34.32 it's causing this or causing that. 00:22:34.35\00:22:36.25 Watch this. Lots of times I have to watch out for different 00:22:37.29\00:22:39.65 studies because the people that they're studying yeah they gave 00:22:39.69\00:22:42.42 them tofu but they're also eatin other animal products 00:22:42.46\00:22:44.79 which have hormones in it as well, the estrogen and different 00:22:44.83\00:22:48.26 items of that nature. But also let's look at what its actually 00:22:48.30\00:22:52.77 good for. It's good for female situations such as menopause 00:22:52.80\00:22:59.17 and the mensies, you know the little monthly situation there 00:22:59.21\00:23:03.41 it's good for the males as well for the prostate, good for heart 00:23:03.45\00:23:07.88 helps a person with arterio sclerosis, high cholesterol 00:23:07.92\00:23:13.59 So this is good for all of those also good for the little ones 00:23:13.62\00:23:18.63 as well but however, you don't want to use soy milk or somethin 00:23:18.66\00:23:21.46 of that nature in place of formula. Lot of people are doin 00:23:21.50\00:23:25.40 that. The best formula is one from the Lord, you know 00:23:25.43\00:23:28.47 you know what I'm talkin about, cover up of course 00:23:28.50\00:23:30.71 that's the best formula a child can have. But it's good for all 00:23:30.74\00:23:35.41 these items. But what we don't wanna do is to say, Oh it's good 00:23:35.44\00:23:38.45 for everything. Let's look at some of the drawbacks it may 00:23:38.48\00:23:40.68 have. Because of its protein content different items of that 00:23:40.72\00:23:44.42 nature, a person who has gout they may not want to use excess 00:23:44.45\00:23:48.46 amount of soy or tofu because of uric acid that can be built up. 00:23:48.49\00:23:53.63 What else maybe a drawback? Sometimes people may have a 00:23:53.66\00:23:58.83 little intestinal situation, you have a little flammable 00:23:58.87\00:24:02.17 situation happening, you know I'm talkin about flatulence 00:24:02.20\00:24:05.14 So some people may find that if they use soy or tofu it may 00:24:05.17\00:24:08.34 cause that problem. So this is true. What else could be, it 00:24:08.38\00:24:12.21 doesn't have Vitamin B12, let's see that usually comes from 00:24:12.25\00:24:15.55 animal products, we're a kind of animal family. So we have micro 00:24:15.58\00:24:18.95 organisms that produce it in our oral cavity, in our mouth 00:24:18.99\00:24:21.69 and our digestive tract. So that's pretty neat. You can get 00:24:21.72\00:24:25.86 that from somewhere else. Vitamin C. Hello I just put 00:24:25.89\00:24:28.56 some red bell peppers in here. Red bell peppers have up to four 00:24:28.60\00:24:31.97 times the amount of Vitamin C than an orange. So that's 00:24:32.00\00:24:35.04 covered as well. But many people say, soy causes allergies 00:24:35.07\00:24:39.64 Let me explain this whole allergy situation real quick 00:24:39.67\00:24:43.91 Now what happens is I'm gonna lower down the flame just a bit 00:24:43.95\00:24:48.72 cause it's cooking nicely here for me. What happens with that 00:24:48.75\00:24:53.02 this is how allergies in general develop. You bring in a foreign 00:24:53.99\00:24:57.79 item and the body develops what is known as immuno globulin 00:24:57.83\00:25:03.00 ok, and so it attaches to that and the next time it sees it 00:25:03.03\00:25:06.53 you have an inflammatory response, you get congested 00:25:06.57\00:25:09.14 you break out in hives and items of that nature. Which nut most 00:25:09.17\00:25:13.17 people have an allergy to? Peanuts, right? Ok. 00:25:13.21\00:25:16.21 Peanuts are like, some people the allergy is so bad all they 00:25:16.24\00:25:20.22 have to do is smell it and they're like breakin out 00:25:20.25\00:25:23.55 sometimes they have a really bad they have anaphylaxic shock 00:25:23.59\00:25:26.99 and they have to get the epi-pen matter of fact one time I was 00:25:27.02\00:25:28.96 flyin from Johannesburg back to Atlanta, Georgia and we got 00:25:28.99\00:25:32.79 on the plane, everybody was sittin down in the big jumbo jet 00:25:32.83\00:25:36.16 and the flight attendant said, hey everybody on the plane 00:25:36.20\00:25:40.64 somebody seated in 32C, obviously we don't know who, 00:25:40.67\00:25:44.67 that is so everybody looked back, has allergy to peanuts 00:25:44.71\00:25:49.18 so what we gonna do, every body 5-10 rows around them 00:25:49.21\00:25:53.08 5-10 rows around them, we're not gonna allow you to use 00:25:53.11\00:25:55.78 peanuts ok? Look at that. Just take a quick look, turnin nice 00:25:55.82\00:25:59.55 and brown there and it's startin to cook properly ok 00:25:59.59\00:26:05.33 So they said, the flight attendant got on, so that person 00:26:05.36\00:26:09.03 in 32C has peanut allergy so everybody 5-10 rows around them 00:26:09.06\00:26:13.17 don't use it. Now why did they say 5-10 rows because that 00:26:13.20\00:26:16.20 person probably has peanut allergies so bad that if they 00:26:16.24\00:26:18.84 just smell it they're in trouble. 00:26:18.87\00:26:20.21 So then everybody's click. Ok poor person. Now we can't eat 00:26:20.24\00:26:24.15 peanuts in that area, right? Here's the funniest thing 00:26:24.18\00:26:26.51 The flight attendant got back on the mic, check this out 00:26:26.55\00:26:30.69 for 10-12 hours we're gonna be over the water, so you know what 00:26:30.72\00:26:35.19 we can't do emergency landing peanuts are banned on the plane 00:26:35.22\00:26:39.13 Everybody's like, oh man, no peanuts cause we're on the plane 00:26:39.16\00:26:42.10 for 15 hours right? So here's the thing that came to my mind 00:26:42.13\00:26:45.67 The reason why a lot of people have peanut allergy is because 00:26:45.70\00:26:48.50 they have been overexposed to peanuts back in the day when 00:26:48.54\00:26:52.11 they were doin candy bars they either buy peanuts for 00:26:52.14\00:26:54.68 a dollar a pound or they can use almonds for $7.99 a pound 00:26:54.71\00:26:58.85 which did they use? Peanuts. Same thing with olive oil 00:26:58.88\00:27:01.65 They could use olive oil for $10 an ounce or peanut oil 00:27:01.68\00:27:05.49 for 50 cents an ounce. Watch closely. This is what happened 00:27:05.52\00:27:08.52 with tofu or soy. They find out soy is so good that they use it 00:27:08.56\00:27:13.36 in everything.
