Have you ever wondered exactly how to prepare 00:00:01.33\00:00:03.43 healthy food that actually tastes good? 00:00:03.47\00:00:05.53 Well stay tuned while Evita Tezeno 00:00:05.57\00:00:07.77 and yours truly, Nyse Collins will show you just how to do it 00:00:07.80\00:00:10.57 and give you something better, a Taste of Paradise. 00:00:10.61\00:00:13.98 Welcome to A Taste of Paradise. My name is Evita Tezeno. 00:00:31.03\00:00:35.10 Today we're going to do one of my favorite recipes 00:00:35.13\00:00:39.03 It's a raw, very kale salad. 00:00:39.07\00:00:42.10 Now I do a different variation of this kale salad using 00:00:42.14\00:00:47.11 the green, leafy kale. But today we're using 00:00:47.14\00:00:52.81 the dinosaur kale which is what we have here. 00:00:52.85\00:00:57.12 The ingredients are: 00:00:57.15\00:00:59.79 Now we begin this recipe by de-stemming the kale 00:01:47.57\00:01:53.71 Now you can either pull it off by hand, like this 00:01:53.74\00:01:59.81 or you can take a knife and run it along the stem 00:01:59.85\00:02:07.39 and cut it like so. 00:02:08.29\00:02:10.46 Whatever is your preference. 00:02:12.99\00:02:16.40 Now we're going to do a fancy, This is a fancy French term 00:02:16.43\00:02:20.74 It's called Chiffonade 00:02:20.80\00:02:22.20 You layer the kale, you roll it 00:02:23.57\00:02:28.11 and you chop it. You cut it in strips. 00:02:30.95\00:02:36.28 This is the term called Chiffonade. 00:02:37.09\00:02:39.29 So you put all the kale in the bowl 00:02:42.96\00:02:46.03 Kale is an amazing vegetable 00:02:49.20\00:02:53.97 It's high in iron, high in fiber loaded with nutrients 00:02:55.54\00:03:02.54 So you want to put salt, mineral sea salt. We're using mineral 00:03:03.75\00:03:08.75 sea salt that has not been bleached. It still has a lot 00:03:08.78\00:03:12.52 of minerals and it has color, it's not white. 00:03:12.55\00:03:16.62 We are using lemon juice 00:03:17.96\00:03:22.50 and lime juice 00:03:22.53\00:03:26.07 and olive oil 00:03:27.60\00:03:30.07 and you want to get your hands dirty 00:03:30.11\00:03:33.27 You want to massage it a little bit 00:03:33.34\00:03:36.85 and what the lemon juice, the lime juice and the salt 00:03:36.91\00:03:43.18 is actually causing this to wilt a little bit. 00:03:43.22\00:03:46.25 So it's going to have the appearance of cooked kale 00:03:46.29\00:03:52.19 and it also makes it easier to chew 00:03:53.96\00:03:58.70 That's one thing people tell me about raw food 00:04:00.14\00:04:04.01 Oh why do I have to chew so much? 00:04:04.04\00:04:05.67 But it's good to masticate your food 00:04:05.71\00:04:09.68 because digestion begins in the mouth 00:04:09.71\00:04:13.05 So a lot of us we don't chew, we just swallow our food 00:04:13.08\00:04:16.28 So, raw food helps you to slow down 00:04:16.32\00:04:20.99 and to chew your food more thoroughly. 00:04:21.02\00:04:24.23 So after, if you notice it has wilted down a little bit 00:04:26.46\00:04:31.90 and we're going to put the avocado in 00:04:36.17\00:04:40.44 and this is an easy way to get the seed out of the avocado 00:04:41.48\00:04:46.61 You hit and turn, it comes out so easy. 00:04:46.68\00:04:49.55 And you use a spoon putting the avocado in 00:04:55.52\00:05:01.23 This is a little messy 00:05:01.26\00:05:03.70 but it's a wonderful recipe 00:05:06.27\00:05:08.67 And it's very quick. There is no equipment required, only 00:05:08.70\00:05:14.34 a knife, chopping board, spoon 00:05:14.38\00:05:18.65 and you can shred the cabbage by hand, you can use a grater 00:05:20.02\00:05:26.49 or you can chop it up finely yourself. 00:05:26.52\00:05:30.93 I used the food processor and I chopped it up a little bit. 00:05:30.96\00:05:34.46 But it's whatever your preference is. 00:05:34.46\00:05:38.40 Now after you've got the avocado all mixed in 00:05:40.10\00:05:43.37 and don't be afraid to use your hands 00:05:52.85\00:05:55.75 Now we're going to use all the rest of the ingredients. 00:06:01.29\00:06:06.36 I'm going to clean my hands real quick 00:06:08.93\00:06:11.17 We have the red cabbage 00:06:17.94\00:06:22.94 Ginger 00:06:22.98\00:06:25.71 Ginger gives it that warming taste 00:06:25.75\00:06:33.36 Shredded carrots 00:06:33.39\00:06:35.86 which are excellent for your eyes 00:06:35.89\00:06:38.33 Red bell pepper 00:06:38.36\00:06:41.46 high in Vitamin C 00:06:41.50\00:06:43.43 Green onions 00:06:43.47\00:06:45.90 And last but not least, sunflower seeds 00:06:47.97\00:06:52.01 You just want to toss this around. Look at all the colors 00:06:53.84\00:06:58.38 You know you should always eat the rainbow 00:06:58.41\00:07:01.65 and this is one way to eat the rainbow 00:07:01.68\00:07:05.45 We have green, orange, red purple 00:07:05.49\00:07:10.86 You have good fats 00:07:10.89\00:07:14.93 This is an amazing recipe 00:07:14.93\00:07:18.83 So we're going to plate it 00:07:22.24\00:07:24.77 Look at this. This is great as a side dish, or you can 00:07:34.62\00:07:41.46 eat it alone as a meal because it really has a lot of protein 00:07:41.49\00:07:46.70 in it with all the different fats and the sunflower seeds 00:07:46.73\00:07:52.43 It is really a full meal. 00:07:52.47\00:07:55.47 And here we have it, an amazing kale salad that is loaded with 00:07:56.27\00:08:02.98 with minerals and vitamins and it is so delicious 00:08:03.01\00:08:09.48 Next we're going to do Cherry Chewy Carob Brownies. 00:08:09.52\00:08:15.12 And the ingredients are: 00:08:15.16\00:08:16.69 So we're going to begin with walnuts 00:08:43.59\00:08:49.02 that have been soaked and dehydrated 00:08:49.06\00:08:51.66 The reason why we soak the nuts is because nuts are usually 00:08:51.69\00:08:58.00 hard to digest. And by soaking them it releases the enzyme 00:08:58.03\00:09:04.71 inhibitors on the nuts. And the reason why we dehydrate them 00:09:04.74\00:09:10.31 because we need dried nuts. We need them dry we don't want wet 00:09:10.38\00:09:14.82 So we start with the walnuts 00:09:14.85\00:09:18.92 And you process them 00:09:23.89\00:09:26.23 And basically what we're doing is we're making our flour 00:09:37.24\00:09:40.58 This is the substitute for the flour in the brownies. 00:09:40.61\00:09:43.98 Is the walnuts. 00:09:44.05\00:09:45.65 And then we put in our dates. These dates have been soaked 00:09:50.12\00:09:53.59 And these are my favorite dates - Mejdool. Mejdools 00:09:53.66\00:09:58.13 are softer and sweeter than all the dates. 00:09:58.16\00:10:02.43 You want to add the carob powder 00:10:16.95\00:10:19.68 the vanilla extract 00:10:19.71\00:10:23.75 and the salt 00:10:23.79\00:10:25.39 and continue to process 00:10:27.42\00:10:29.39 You have to coax it along a little bit 00:10:41.30\00:10:44.77 This is a great recipe 00:10:47.11\00:10:52.28 for if you love chocolate 00:10:52.31\00:10:55.08 and chocolate is not very good for you 00:10:55.12\00:10:59.15 because chocolate is naturally bitter 00:10:59.19\00:11:03.73 and the way they get it sweet is they put so much milk and sugar 00:11:03.76\00:11:10.07 in it. And also chocolate is loaded with caffeine 00:11:10.13\00:11:15.17 which keeps you up at night 00:11:15.20\00:11:18.27 and caffeine has so many other debilitating properties 00:11:18.31\00:11:22.51 So we want to do carob because carob is naturally sweet 00:11:22.54\00:11:26.68 So you want to transfer this into a bowl 00:11:42.80\00:11:45.80 And again, here's the fun 00:12:01.12\00:12:03.62 we have our chopped walnuts 00:12:03.69\00:12:09.06 And our, these are dried cherries and they are 00:12:14.10\00:12:18.47 tart cherries. 00:12:18.50\00:12:20.00 We want to get our hands dirty again 00:12:21.34\00:12:23.30 we want to incorporate the walnuts and the cherries 00:12:23.37\00:12:30.45 as best we can 00:12:33.48\00:12:35.58 keep kneading it around 00:12:38.55\00:12:41.52 This is a great and fun recipe. It's very, very quick 00:12:43.99\00:12:50.73 Then we want to transfer it into a 9" Pyrex dish 00:12:50.80\00:12:58.71 Now you can if you want, you can do a fudge icing 00:13:06.25\00:13:11.79 with a little carob powder 00:13:11.82\00:13:14.96 and coconut oil 00:13:14.99\00:13:17.76 and honey and you could put it that way or you could 00:13:17.79\00:13:23.20 or you could smooth it on as an icing 00:13:23.23\00:13:26.20 or you could just eat it this way. 00:13:26.23\00:13:30.37 This is an amazing recipe, it's quick, it's easy 00:13:30.41\00:13:36.04 and it's very, very chewy 00:13:36.91\00:13:40.48 and it will, you have that chocolate craving 00:13:41.82\00:13:46.76 I think that it will get rid of that for you. 00:13:46.82\00:13:49.52 And here we have it. Chewy cherry carob brownies. 00:13:53.40\00:14:03.14 It's a wonderful treat. You can have it with some raw ice cream 00:14:03.17\00:14:10.25 or you could have it with some cashew cream 00:14:10.28\00:14:13.82 or you could just eat it by itself. 00:14:13.85\00:14:16.45 Remember, live life fresh! 00:14:16.48\00:14:20.06 Super healthy. That's the question we want to ask today 00:14:28.50\00:14:32.83 Not just are you healthy? Are you super healthy? 00:14:32.87\00:14:36.44 And you remember many years ago or just throughout life 00:14:36.47\00:14:40.44 anytime you got sick the doctor says, man I'm so sorry, can 00:14:40.48\00:14:44.01 I give you medication to get rid of the problem? Maybe some 00:14:44.05\00:14:46.41 stuff to deal with signs and symptoms, the sniffy nose 00:14:46.45\00:14:50.15 and the headaches and the sore throats and the cough 00:14:50.19\00:14:52.95 and stuff like that. But the doctor always said 00:14:52.99\00:14:55.29 look you need to, number 1, get some rest, number 2 drink 00:14:55.32\00:14:58.59 some fluids but go home and eat some super healthy soup. 00:14:58.63\00:15:04.17 And that's what we're going to do today. We're going to learn 00:15:04.20\00:15:06.10 how to make some soup, some healthy soup and we're gonna 00:15:06.13\00:15:08.00 learn how the key, the key because there's many different 00:15:08.04\00:15:10.91 ways you can make soup. But we notice there's one principle 00:15:10.94\00:15:14.18 in that on how to make, not per se soup but how to eat your food 00:15:14.21\00:15:18.35 and how to drink and different items of that nature, 00:15:18.38\00:15:21.15 water and stuff. And so we're going to look at how to do 00:15:21.18\00:15:23.99 that and this soup, I mean it is amazing, amazing, amazing 00:15:24.02\00:15:27.99 remember grandma she always used to do it and 00:15:28.02\00:15:31.36 I remember many times when we had soup in the home 00:15:31.39\00:15:34.00 we knew why we were eating soup. Not because we were sick 00:15:34.00\00:15:36.73 because the stuff in the fridge was going bad. And so any 00:15:36.77\00:15:39.73 time food was going bad she would go to the fridge and 00:15:39.77\00:15:42.70 mom would do it all the time and she cut this and cut that 00:15:42.74\00:15:45.94 she'd get the old this and the old that and then we had soup 00:15:45.97\00:15:49.38 But the coolest thing about the soup that day to me was that 00:15:49.41\00:15:53.05 you know what the first day it was good. But they would make 00:15:53.08\00:15:55.48 so much of it that we were eating soup for the whole week 00:15:55.52\00:15:57.85 But the weirdest thing happened. Every day the soup got better 00:15:57.89\00:16:02.82 I'm like wait a second. Did she put something in that thing? 00:16:02.86\00:16:05.76 As a matter of fact I don't know if you ever do this, when 00:16:05.79\00:16:08.13 mom or grandma cooks and they say, man this tastes so good 00:16:08.16\00:16:11.27 they said, grandma did you put your hand in the soup because 00:16:11.30\00:16:16.10 it tasted amazing. And I just couldn't understand why every 00:16:16.14\00:16:20.68 day after it would get better. I don't know, something about 00:16:20.71\00:16:23.78 getting old, I don't know. You just get better. And so I want 00:16:23.85\00:16:27.22 to encourage those up in age don't think you're going down 00:16:27.25\00:16:30.39 You are going up actually and you're going to get better 00:16:30.42\00:16:33.12 you're going to get super healthy and that's what we're 00:16:33.15\00:16:35.59 gonna do today because it's delicious. However, there's 00:16:35.62\00:16:38.39 many different ways we can make this soup. Sometimes we 00:16:38.43\00:16:42.00 make soup with pasta in it. Sometimes they do pumpkin 00:16:42.03\00:16:48.00 soup and they blend it all up. We've been talking about avocado 00:16:48.04\00:16:51.74 quite a bit. You can even make avocado soup. I mean there's 00:16:51.77\00:16:55.38 so many different ways you can make it. 00:16:55.41\00:16:57.51 But we're gonna go ahead and we're gonna put a little bit 00:16:57.55\00:17:00.28 of everything in it. We're not going to put old food in. 00:17:00.35\00:17:02.35 As a matter of fact that is a principle that we should learn. 00:17:02.38\00:17:04.59 Once your apple starts to go bad you start to see signs of aging 00:17:04.62\00:17:09.32 of spoiling, it's best I know 00:17:09.36\00:17:12.89 you know many times we just cut off that bad part 00:17:12.93\00:17:15.23 but it's best as we read through some counsels that it's 00:17:15.26\00:17:18.57 let's not just use the whole thing at all 00:17:18.60\00:17:20.44 because if it's starting to get old in one area then as a result 00:17:20.47\00:17:24.31 maybe the other areas are starting to get old too 00:17:24.34\00:17:27.58 But if you ever notice when you go to grandma's house, 00:17:27.61\00:17:29.64 or your mom's house or something of that nature you always see 00:17:29.68\00:17:32.15 an apple in there with like a cut on it or you see a 00:17:32.18\00:17:34.82 tomato with a weird cut on the other side, you're like Ma 00:17:34.85\00:17:40.16 what's all this half cut fruit in there? 00:17:40.19\00:17:42.42 You know what she was trying to do, she was tryin to save it 00:17:42.46\00:17:44.56 you know from going bad. But it's best to take that item 00:17:44.59\00:17:47.50 that's spoiled a little bit and it's starting to get old 00:17:47.50\00:17:50.33 and mold developed and stuff it's best not to eat that. 00:17:50.37\00:17:53.54 Just go ahead. We're not going to waste food you know. Times 00:17:53.60\00:17:56.04 are hard, recession has hit and people left and right 00:17:56.07\00:17:58.47 We're not going to waste food. What we want you to do is 00:17:58.51\00:18:00.81 make what is known as compost and you just keep a little bin 00:18:00.84\00:18:03.71 on the side with your plastic bag in it and all of the food 00:18:03.78\00:18:06.75 particles and items that you would normally throw away 00:18:06.78\00:18:10.02 you put in this bag. In this specific bag. Not regular 00:18:10.05\00:18:12.42 garbage or trash of stuff of that nature. You put that in 00:18:12.45\00:18:15.12 this specific bag. And then you take that and then I'm hoping 00:18:15.16\00:18:18.83 we all have a garden. No need to buy fertilizer, you already 00:18:18.86\00:18:21.76 have your own fertilizer. It used to be in your fridge and 00:18:21.80\00:18:24.90 now it got bagged. And you take that and what you have now is 00:18:24.93\00:18:28.40 compost. You put that in your garden and you're just like 00:18:28.44\00:18:31.31 growing roses and tomatoes and all that stuff naturally 00:18:31.34\00:18:35.71 This is like aka organic and you don't have to pay for it 00:18:35.74\00:18:39.21 because you already did when you bought the food 00:18:39.25\00:18:40.82 and it went bad. So please, it's best to hold off on 00:18:40.85\00:18:43.59 spoiling or old items don't be cutting in pieces and trying 00:18:43.62\00:18:46.69 to save the rest. Just go ahead and put that in the 00:18:46.76\00:18:48.76 garden. But today we're gonna make this super 00:18:48.79\00:18:50.26 super healthy soup and recipe is quite simple 00:18:50.33\00:18:54.76 Quite a few ingredients of course, 00:18:54.83\00:18:56.16 but here it is. Let's take a quick look 00:18:56.20\00:18:57.87 All you need for the super healthy soup is 00:18:57.90\00:19:00.57 But this is not no regular soup we're gonna put dumplings in it 00:19:38.94\00:19:41.88 as well and here's a quick recipe for the dumplings. 00:19:41.91\00:19:44.41 Now I don't know about our chopper, that was super tiring! 00:19:53.49\00:19:57.66 But I know by the time I finish cooking this soup and makin it 00:19:57.69\00:20:00.53 I'm going to be super healthy by the grace of God of course 00:20:00.60\00:20:04.27 and what you do is the recipe is quite easy. Have your lentils 00:20:04.30\00:20:07.40 Take your lentils, you can use split peas. Put it in a pot 00:20:07.44\00:20:11.64 We're going to turn this fire on but I'm going to share with you 00:20:11.67\00:20:14.31 a simple way to do it. You take that, you basically, easiest 00:20:14.34\00:20:17.11 thing to do, take all your ingredients and load it up 00:20:17.15\00:20:20.48 don't tell nobody what you put in it because they maybe 00:20:20.52\00:20:23.89 concerned. So we add all the ingredients. We have the carrots 00:20:23.95\00:20:27.56 in there. Also as I said we're going to keep some more water 00:20:27.62\00:20:31.19 because what we gonna do, we gonna boil it nicely 00:20:31.23\00:20:34.23 until it's ready to go. We have our onions in there, we have 00:20:34.30\00:20:39.43 the celery in there. You don't need me to teach you how to 00:20:39.47\00:20:42.80 do this. You probably could do this yourself. 00:20:42.84\00:20:45.07 But we're sharing all or some of the super, super items 00:20:45.11\00:20:49.24 that works for us here and we have our seasonings 00:20:49.28\00:20:54.48 as well, our herbs, we're gonna turn the fire up. I already have 00:20:54.52\00:20:58.22 a finished product for you all 00:20:58.25\00:21:01.86 And people are like why are you adding some honey to that? 00:21:01.89\00:21:04.46 We never add honey to ours but watch this, this is key 00:21:04.49\00:21:07.50 it's going to add some serious serious flavor 00:21:07.50\00:21:10.37 to your super healthy soup. So we're gonna add some honey 00:21:10.43\00:21:13.60 in that, get this water boiling eventually and 00:21:13.64\00:21:17.77 your bay leaf, yeah you all know about bay leaf 00:21:17.81\00:21:20.94 it probably wasn't in there but we're gonna add one little 00:21:20.98\00:21:23.51 bay leaf, maybe two you know your choice, and then sea salt 00:21:23.55\00:21:27.12 of course to taste. I like to start off with less salt 00:21:27.18\00:21:30.35 and I like to put the rest in eventually. So we gonna 00:21:30.39\00:21:34.89 let this boil, but then we have to get the coconut milk 00:21:34.92\00:21:37.86 Don't tell anybody but this is actually the secret ingredient 00:21:37.89\00:21:41.26 This is going to provide you with lots of vitamins. minerals 00:21:41.30\00:21:46.20 adds a little flavor to it. Ah man you're all going to enjoy 00:21:46.23\00:21:50.87 this here and then what you eventually do is you cover 00:21:50.91\00:21:54.21 this up nicely and let that cook properly there, so 00:21:54.24\00:22:00.22 that right there is gonna get our super healthy soup 00:22:00.25\00:22:04.09 started. This is like I said a little bit earlier, dangerously 00:22:04.12\00:22:08.29 good for you. Now why do I consider it dangerously good? 00:22:08.32\00:22:11.16 Because of all the stuff that we put in there, it's gonna be 00:22:11.19\00:22:14.00 like, don't play around with this thing, this thing 00:22:14.10\00:22:16.33 will fill you up. You eat too much you may not want to eat 00:22:16.36\00:22:18.63 again for another week you know because it's super what? 00:22:18.67\00:22:21.84 Super healthy. 00:22:21.87\00:22:23.20 But as that goes ahead and starts to cook 00:22:23.24\00:22:26.01 it's going to simmer. You know it takes a little bit of time 00:22:26.04\00:22:28.88 you don't need me to teach you how to do it, you always check 00:22:28.91\00:22:31.21 the lentils to make sure they're nice and they start to break up 00:22:31.25\00:22:34.52 for you and get soft. If you want to use different beans 00:22:34.55\00:22:37.45 that's fantastic too. Some people use kidney beans 00:22:37.49\00:22:40.12 some people use pinto beans. With those however, because 00:22:40.16\00:22:44.09 they're sized a little bigger we like to soak those overnight 00:22:44.13\00:22:48.46 ok? Soak those overnight, put a little salt in it. 00:22:48.50\00:22:51.63 Let them soak and then next day you have to change that water 00:22:51.67\00:22:56.94 beans they cause trouble in here and obviously because of the 00:22:56.97\00:23:02.28 skin, the carbohydrate is really hard for it to break down 00:23:03.14\00:23:07.05 so then it gets very what? very flammable. I don't think 00:23:07.12\00:23:10.79 you need me to explain what I'm talkin about here, the beans 00:23:10.82\00:23:13.25 So what you do is you take those beans you soaked overnight 00:23:13.29\00:23:15.96 Wash them, rinse them properly then you start a new batch 00:23:15.99\00:23:19.93 of water and you put all of the other ingredients in there 00:23:20.00\00:23:22.80 and you can use any beans of your choice, alright? 00:23:22.83\00:23:26.43 As that gets going, we want to make some dumplings 00:23:26.47\00:23:30.57 This is what we call the heavy hitter and what I mean by that 00:23:30.61\00:23:34.18 when you eat a dumpling it's no joke. 00:23:34.24\00:23:36.34 It will dump at the bottom of your stomach 00:23:36.38\00:23:38.55 and you will not want to eat again. That's why it's called 00:23:38.58\00:23:40.78 the super healthy soup. And it's real easy how to make 00:23:40.82\00:23:44.69 your dumpling. I already shared with you, all you need is the 00:23:44.72\00:23:48.29 flour, you take some salt and put that in there nicely 00:23:48.32\00:23:55.23 and you mix those up real quick 00:23:55.26\00:23:58.60 and you go ahead and you'll go ahead and add water 00:24:00.47\00:24:04.04 OK? So we're gonna add some water to that. This is dumpling 00:24:04.11\00:24:07.98 Whole wheat dumpling. You see my Momma's from Trinidad 00:24:08.01\00:24:11.91 and when she made soup we wondered what are these big 00:24:11.95\00:24:15.82 things at the bottom of the soup and you almost had to cut them 00:24:15.85\00:24:20.06 it was like a piece of meat or something like that 00:24:20.09\00:24:21.82 That was basically dumpling, alright? 00:24:21.86\00:24:24.06 So you mix that up basically nicely there and what you 00:24:24.13\00:24:26.83 you're gonna end up with is 00:24:26.90\00:24:30.33 Oops there we go, we're in the kitchen we're having fun 00:24:30.37\00:24:33.03 you're going to end up with something of this nature 00:24:33.07\00:24:35.00 almost like a Playdoh a little bit there. 00:24:35.04\00:24:36.77 That's dumpling. So you can make any different type of stuff 00:24:36.81\00:24:40.54 Make sure you have kids in the kitchen so they can learn 00:24:40.58\00:24:42.84 how to make dumpling. You can make almost a vegelink dumpling 00:24:42.88\00:24:48.18 You see the vegelink dumpling? 00:24:48.22\00:24:49.82 You drop that right there. Then you can make a sausage dumpling 00:24:49.85\00:24:54.72 You put that right there. So there are many different types 00:24:54.76\00:24:58.93 you can do. You can do a quarter pounder dumpling 00:24:58.96\00:25:02.10 Alright, you know what a quarter pounder dumpling is? 00:25:02.13\00:25:06.33 big one there, they boil it in water with some pumpkin or 00:25:06.37\00:25:10.54 some cassava or... different types of West Indian 00:25:10.61\00:25:16.41 veggies and so you have a quarter pounder there. What you 00:25:16.44\00:25:19.28 do with the dumpling however, don't put it in at the beginning 00:25:19.31\00:25:22.32 of when you cook the soup. You put it like midway through or 00:25:22.35\00:25:25.39 latter half, maybe 20 minutes before it's finished there 00:25:25.42\00:25:30.43 and the dumpling is fantastic. Cornmeal is also another item 00:25:30.46\00:25:34.10 that we can use for the dumpling So enjoy this 00:25:34.10\00:25:36.83 This is not your Asian dumpling this is Caribbean dumpling 00:25:36.87\00:25:40.70 Remember we're trying to have a taste of paradise here, so 00:25:40.74\00:25:42.64 you can have that as well. What I have done here, however 00:25:42.67\00:25:46.31 is I have the finished product of the soup here 00:25:46.34\00:25:49.51 just give me a second as I move this one here 00:25:49.54\00:25:52.38 When it finishes it should come out looking somewhat like that 00:25:52.41\00:25:58.05 alright? This is called Super Healthy Soup. 00:25:58.09\00:26:02.22 One person says, man this thing is so thick and this is 00:26:02.26\00:26:05.69 is another key we want to get to. A lot of times we 00:26:05.73\00:26:08.76 share with people it's best to hold off on eating and 00:26:08.80\00:26:12.23 drinking at the same time. What that does is, it messes up 00:26:12.27\00:26:14.80 your digestive process. It's best to drink the water 00:26:14.84\00:26:17.41 15 minutes before you eat, some say 30. No problem 00:26:17.44\00:26:21.11 your choice and the key is to hold off drinking while we eat 00:26:21.14\00:26:25.68 so we can wait for at least an hour till after we eat 00:26:25.71\00:26:28.08 because what it does is it dilutes the digestive juices 00:26:28.12\00:26:31.42 basically water has VIP access to your body. So whatever you 00:26:31.45\00:26:35.19 put in first, if water comes in after it's pushing everybody 00:26:35.22\00:26:37.99 through, you know what I'm talkin about. It goes in first 00:26:38.03\00:26:40.50 and you wonder why you're trying to sleep at night 00:26:40.53\00:26:43.20 stuff is coming back up and you're burping and all 00:26:43.23\00:26:45.77 of these problems are happening it's because we're eating and 00:26:45.80\00:26:48.40 drinking, we're diluting that stuff and our body now has to 00:26:48.44\00:26:51.14 work even harder to digest the food. 00:26:51.17\00:26:52.94 So what do we need to do here today? We need to make thick 00:26:52.97\00:26:55.61 soup because people always call, well if I can't eat 00:26:55.64\00:26:58.15 and drink at the same time how do I make my soup? 00:26:58.18\00:27:01.82 We just don't make watery soup and y'all know what I'm talkin 00:27:01.85\00:27:04.22 about, watery soup. You make the soup and you're fishin 00:27:04.25\00:27:06.15 for the noodles, you're fishin for the beans 00:27:06.19\00:27:08.26 You're like, man where's this thing at? No. no, no. You make 00:27:08.29\00:27:11.26 some thick soup. How do you know if you have good soup? 00:27:11.29\00:27:14.00 You're ready for the test? 00:27:14.03\00:27:15.93 This is the test here. 00:27:15.96\00:27:17.67 If your spoon stands in the soup 00:27:18.83\00:27:22.27 it's good soup. This is what we're talkin about 00:27:22.30\00:27:25.87 super healthy, you see that, check that out. 00:27:25.91\00:27:28.18 That man is at attention. We don't want soup to be at ease 00:27:28.21\00:27:32.35 or leanin back to left or right. Want attention! 00:27:32.38\00:27:35.12 This is one of the pathfinders soup, you know that? 00:27:35.15\00:27:37.32 That's what we call this, Pathfinders Soup 00:27:37.39\00:27:39.09 So go ahead and this is how our soup should be 00:27:39.12\00:27:41.96 You go ahead, you take some of that and put it in a nice bowl 00:27:41.99\00:27:45.66 there and warm it up and when people eat this they're gonna 00:27:45.69\00:27:49.40 have a blast if you don't mind I'm gonna have some of the soup 00:27:49.43\00:27:53.60 the healthy soup cause I'm hungry and enjoy it 00:27:53.64\00:27:55.80 and you will be super, super healthy. 00:27:55.84\00:27:59.74
