Have you ever wondered exactly how to prepare 00:00:01.36\00:00:03.47 healthy food that actually tastes good? 00:00:03.50\00:00:05.60 Well stay tuned while Evita Tezeno 00:00:05.63\00:00:07.84 and yours truly, Nyse Collins will show you just how to do it 00:00:07.87\00:00:10.64 and give you something better, a Taste of Paradise. 00:00:10.67\00:00:14.04 Welcome to A Taste of Paradise. My name is Evita Tezeno. 00:00:31.09\00:00:35.20 Today we're going to do one of my favorite recipes 00:00:35.23\00:00:39.13 It's a raw, very kale salad. 00:00:39.17\00:00:42.20 Now I do a different variation of this kale salad using 00:00:42.24\00:00:47.21 the green, leafy kale. But today we're using 00:00:47.24\00:00:52.91 the dinosaur kale which is what we have here. 00:00:52.95\00:00:57.19 The ingredients are: 00:00:57.22\00:00:59.89 Now we begin this recipe by de-stemming the kale 00:01:47.64\00:01:53.78 Now you can either pull it off by hand, like this 00:01:53.81\00:01:59.91 or you can take a knife and run it along the stem 00:01:59.95\00:02:07.42 and cut it like so. 00:02:08.32\00:02:10.49 Whatever is your preference. 00:02:13.03\00:02:16.46 Now we're going to do a fancy, This is a fancy French term 00:02:16.50\00:02:20.80 It's called Chiffonade 00:02:20.84\00:02:22.27 You layer the kale, you roll it 00:02:23.61\00:02:28.18 and you chop it. You cut it in strips. 00:02:31.01\00:02:36.35 This is the term called Chiffonade. 00:02:37.12\00:02:39.35 So you put all the kale in the bowl 00:02:43.02\00:02:46.09 Kale is an amazing vegetable 00:02:49.30\00:02:54.04 It's high in iron, high in fiber loaded with nutrients 00:02:55.64\00:03:02.58 So you want to put salt, mineral sea salt. We're using mineral 00:03:03.75\00:03:08.78 sea salt that has not been bleached. It still has a lot 00:03:08.82\00:03:12.55 of minerals and it has color, it's not white. 00:03:12.59\00:03:16.66 We are using lemon juice 00:03:17.99\00:03:22.56 and lime juice 00:03:22.60\00:03:26.13 and olive oil 00:03:27.67\00:03:30.11 and you want to get your hands dirty 00:03:30.14\00:03:33.34 You want to massage it a little bit 00:03:33.38\00:03:36.91 and what the lemon juice, the lime juice and the salt 00:03:36.95\00:03:43.25 is actually causing this to wilt a little bit. 00:03:43.28\00:03:46.32 So it's going to have the appearance of cooked kale 00:03:46.35\00:03:52.26 and it also makes it easier to chew 00:03:54.03\00:03:58.80 That's one thing people tell me about raw food 00:04:00.14\00:04:04.01 Oh why do I have to chew so much? 00:04:04.04\00:04:05.71 But it's good to masticate your food 00:04:05.74\00:04:09.71 because digestion begins in the mouth 00:04:09.74\00:04:13.08 So a lot of us we don't chew, we just swallow our food 00:04:13.11\00:04:16.32 So, raw food helps you to slow down 00:04:16.35\00:04:21.02 and to chew your food more thoroughly. 00:04:21.06\00:04:24.23 So after, if you notice it has wilted down a little bit 00:04:26.49\00:04:31.97 and we're going to put the avocado in 00:04:36.24\00:04:40.48 and this is an easy way to get the seed out of the avocado 00:04:41.54\00:04:46.68 You hit and turn, it comes out so easy. 00:04:46.72\00:04:49.62 And you use a spoon putting the avocado in 00:04:55.59\00:05:01.26 This is a little messy 00:05:01.30\00:05:03.73 but it's a wonderful recipe 00:05:06.30\00:05:08.70 And it's very quick. There is no equipment required, only 00:05:08.74\00:05:14.38 a knife, chopping board, spoon 00:05:14.41\00:05:18.68 and you can shred the cabbage by hand, you can use a grater 00:05:20.02\00:05:26.52 or you can chop it up finely yourself. 00:05:26.55\00:05:30.93 I used the food processor and I chopped it up a little bit. 00:05:30.96\00:05:34.50 But it's whatever your preference is. 00:05:34.53\00:05:38.47 Now after you've got the avocado all mixed in 00:05:40.14\00:05:43.44 and don't be afraid to use your hands 00:05:52.91\00:05:55.82 Now we're going to use all the rest of the ingredients. 00:06:01.29\00:06:06.36 I'm going to clean my hands real quick 00:06:08.96\00:06:11.20 We have the red cabbage 00:06:17.97\00:06:22.98 Ginger 00:06:23.01\00:06:25.75 Ginger gives it that warming taste 00:06:25.78\00:06:33.39 Shredded carrots 00:06:33.42\00:06:35.89 which are excellent for your eyes 00:06:35.92\00:06:38.36 Red bell pepper 00:06:38.39\00:06:41.53 high in Vitamin C 00:06:41.56\00:06:43.50 Green onions 00:06:43.53\00:06:45.97 And last but not least, sunflower seeds 00:06:48.04\00:06:52.07 You just want to toss this around. Look at all the colors 00:06:53.88\00:06:58.45 You know you should always eat the rainbow 00:06:58.48\00:07:01.65 and this is one way to eat the rainbow 00:07:01.68\00:07:05.45 We have green, orange, red purple 00:07:05.49\00:07:10.83 You have good fats 00:07:10.86\00:07:14.93 This is an amazing recipe 00:07:14.96\00:07:18.87 So we're going to plate it 00:07:22.27\00:07:24.81 Look at this. This is great as a side dish, or you can 00:07:34.65\00:07:41.49 eat it alone as a meal because it really has a lot of protein 00:07:41.52\00:07:46.73 in it with all the different fats and the sunflower seeds 00:07:46.76\00:07:52.50 It is really a full meal. 00:07:52.53\00:07:55.54 And here we have it, an amazing kale salad that is loaded with 00:07:56.34\00:08:02.98 with minerals and vitamins and it is so delicious 00:08:03.01\00:08:09.48 Next we're going to do Cherry Chewy Carob Brownies. 00:08:09.52\00:08:15.12 And the ingredients are: 00:08:15.16\00:08:16.69 So we're going to begin with walnuts 00:08:43.59\00:08:49.06 that have been soaked and dehydrated 00:08:49.09\00:08:51.69 The reason why we soak the nuts is because nuts are usually 00:08:51.73\00:08:58.07 hard to digest. And by soaking them it releases the enzyme 00:08:58.10\00:09:04.71 inhibitors on the nuts. And the reason why we dehydrate them 00:09:04.74\00:09:10.31 because we need dried nuts. We need them dry we don't want wet 00:09:10.35\00:09:14.82 So we start with the walnuts 00:09:14.85\00:09:18.92 And you process them 00:09:23.89\00:09:26.23 And basically what we're doing is we're making our flour 00:09:37.27\00:09:40.61 This is the substitute for the flour in the brownies. 00:09:40.64\00:09:44.01 Is the walnuts. 00:09:44.05\00:09:45.68 And then we put in our dates. These dates have been soaked 00:09:50.15\00:09:53.62 And these are my favorite dates - Mejdool. Mejdools 00:09:53.66\00:09:58.16 are softer and sweeter than all the dates. 00:09:58.19\00:10:02.50 You want to add the carob powder 00:10:17.01\00:10:19.75 the vanilla extract 00:10:19.78\00:10:23.79 and the salt 00:10:23.82\00:10:25.45 and continue to process 00:10:27.49\00:10:29.46 You have to coax it along a little bit 00:10:41.40\00:10:44.87 This is a great recipe 00:10:47.18\00:10:52.38 for if you love chocolate 00:10:52.41\00:10:55.18 and chocolate is not very good for you 00:10:55.22\00:10:59.25 because chocolate is naturally bitter 00:10:59.29\00:11:03.73 and the way they get it sweet is they put so much milk and sugar 00:11:03.76\00:11:10.13 in it. And also chocolate is loaded with caffeine 00:11:10.17\00:11:15.24 which keeps you up at night 00:11:15.27\00:11:18.34 and caffeine has so many other debilitating properties 00:11:18.37\00:11:22.58 So we want to do carob because carob is naturally sweet 00:11:22.61\00:11:26.72 So you want to transfer this into a bowl 00:11:42.90\00:11:45.90 And again, here's the fun 00:12:01.15\00:12:03.65 we have our chopped walnuts 00:12:03.69\00:12:09.09 And our, these are dried cherries and they are 00:12:14.16\00:12:18.53 tart cherries. 00:12:18.57\00:12:20.07 We want to get our hands dirty again 00:12:21.40\00:12:23.37 we want to incorporate the walnuts and the cherries 00:12:23.41\00:12:30.51 as best we can 00:12:33.55\00:12:35.65 keep kneading it around 00:12:38.62\00:12:41.59 This is a great and fun recipe. It's very, very quick 00:12:44.03\00:12:50.83 Then we want to transfer it into a 9" Pyrex dish 00:12:50.87\00:12:58.81 Now you can if you want, you can do a fudge icing 00:13:06.28\00:13:11.82 with a little carob powder 00:13:11.85\00:13:14.99 and coconut oil 00:13:15.02\00:13:17.79 and honey and you could put it that way or you could 00:13:17.83\00:13:23.26 or you could smooth it on as an icing 00:13:23.30\00:13:26.27 or you could just eat it this way. 00:13:26.30\00:13:30.41 This is an amazing recipe, it's quick, it's easy 00:13:30.44\00:13:36.11 and it's very, very chewy 00:13:36.95\00:13:40.52 and it will, you have that chocolate craving 00:13:41.88\00:13:46.82 I think that it will get rid of that for you. 00:13:46.86\00:13:49.59 And here we have it. Chewy cherry carob brownies. 00:13:53.46\00:14:03.17 It's a wonderful treat. You can have it with some raw ice cream 00:14:03.20\00:14:10.28 or you could have it with some cashew cream 00:14:10.31\00:14:13.82 or you could just eat it by itself. 00:14:13.85\00:14:16.48 Remember, live life fresh! 00:14:16.52\00:14:20.09 Super healthy. That's the question we want to ask today 00:14:28.56\00:14:32.90 Not just are you healthy? Are you super healthy? 00:14:32.93\00:14:36.50 And you remember many years ago or just throughout life 00:14:36.54\00:14:40.48 anytime you got sick the doctor says, man I'm so sorry, can 00:14:40.51\00:14:44.08 I give you medication to get rid of the problem? Maybe some 00:14:44.11\00:14:46.48 stuff to deal with signs and symptoms, the sniffy nose 00:14:46.51\00:14:50.19 and the headaches and the sore throats and the cough 00:14:50.22\00:14:53.02 and stuff like that. But the doctor always said 00:14:53.05\00:14:55.36 look you need to, number 1, get some rest, number 2 drink 00:14:55.39\00:14:58.66 some fluids but go home and eat some super healthy soup. 00:14:58.69\00:15:04.17 And that's what we're going to do today. We're going to learn 00:15:04.20\00:15:06.13 how to make some soup, some healthy soup and we're gonna 00:15:06.17\00:15:08.04 learn how the key, the key because there's many different 00:15:08.07\00:15:10.94 ways you can make soup. But we notice there's one principle 00:15:10.97\00:15:14.18 in that on how to make, not per se soup but how to eat your food 00:15:14.21\00:15:18.38 and how to drink and different items of that nature, 00:15:18.41\00:15:21.18 water and stuff. And so we're going to look at how to do 00:15:21.22\00:15:24.02 that and this soup, I mean it is amazing, amazing, amazing 00:15:24.05\00:15:28.02 remember grandma she always used to do it and 00:15:28.06\00:15:31.39 I remember many times when we had soup in the home 00:15:31.43\00:15:34.03 we knew why we were eating soup. Not because we were sick 00:15:34.06\00:15:36.77 because the stuff in the fridge was going bad. And so any 00:15:36.80\00:15:39.80 time food was going bad she would go to the fridge and 00:15:39.83\00:15:42.77 mom would do it all the time and she cut this and cut that 00:15:42.80\00:15:46.01 she'd get the old this and the old that and then we had soup 00:15:46.04\00:15:49.44 But the coolest thing about the soup that day to me was that 00:15:49.48\00:15:53.11 you know what the first day it was good. But they would make 00:15:53.15\00:15:55.55 so much of it that we were eating soup for the whole week 00:15:55.58\00:15:57.92 But the weirdest thing happened. Every day the soup got better 00:15:57.95\00:16:02.82 I'm like wait a second. Did she put something in that thing? 00:16:02.86\00:16:05.76 As a matter of fact I don't know if you ever do this, when 00:16:05.79\00:16:08.16 mom or grandma cooks and they say, man this tastes so good 00:16:08.20\00:16:11.30 they said, grandma did you put your hand in the soup because 00:16:11.33\00:16:16.14 it tasted amazing. And I just couldn't understand why every 00:16:16.17\00:16:20.68 day after it would get better. I don't know, something about 00:16:20.71\00:16:23.81 getting old, I don't know. You just get better. And so I want 00:16:23.85\00:16:27.22 to encourage those up in age don't think you're going down 00:16:27.25\00:16:30.39 You are going up actually and you're going to get better 00:16:30.42\00:16:33.15 you're going to get super healthy and that's what we're 00:16:33.19\00:16:35.62 gonna do today because it's delicious. However, there's 00:16:35.66\00:16:38.43 many different ways we can make this soup. Sometimes we 00:16:38.46\00:16:42.06 make soup with pasta in it. Sometimes they do pumpkin 00:16:42.10\00:16:48.07 soup and they blend it all up. We've been talking about avocado 00:16:48.10\00:16:51.81 quite a bit. You can even make avocado soup. I mean there's 00:16:51.84\00:16:55.44 so many different ways you can make it. 00:16:55.48\00:16:57.55 But we're gonna go ahead and we're gonna put a little bit 00:16:57.58\00:17:00.28 of everything in it. We're not going to put old food in. 00:17:00.32\00:17:02.35 As a matter of fact that is a principle that we should learn. 00:17:02.38\00:17:04.59 Once your apple starts to go bad you start to see signs of aging 00:17:04.62\00:17:09.32 of spoiling, it's best I know 00:17:09.36\00:17:12.89 you know many times we just cut off that bad part 00:17:12.93\00:17:15.26 but it's best as we read through some counsels that it's 00:17:15.30\00:17:18.60 let's not just use the whole thing at all 00:17:18.63\00:17:20.47 because if it's starting to get old in one area then as a result 00:17:20.50\00:17:24.31 maybe the other areas are starting to get old too 00:17:24.34\00:17:27.58 But if you ever notice when you go to grandma's house, 00:17:27.61\00:17:29.68 or your mom's house or something of that nature you always see 00:17:29.71\00:17:32.18 an apple in there with like a cut on it or you see a 00:17:32.21\00:17:34.85 tomato with a weird cut on the other side, you're like Ma 00:17:34.88\00:17:40.16 what's all this half cut fruit in there? 00:17:40.19\00:17:42.46 You know what she was trying to do, she was tryin to save it 00:17:42.49\00:17:44.59 you know from going bad. But it's best to take that item 00:17:44.63\00:17:47.50 that's spoiled a little bit and it's starting to get old 00:17:47.53\00:17:50.37 and mold developed and stuff it's best not to eat that. 00:17:50.40\00:17:53.60 Just go ahead. We're not going to waste food you know. Times 00:17:53.64\00:17:56.10 are hard, recession has hit and people left and right 00:17:56.14\00:17:58.54 We're not going to waste food. What we want you to do is 00:17:58.57\00:18:00.78 make what is known as compost and you just keep a little bin 00:18:00.81\00:18:03.71 on the side with your plastic bag in it and all of the food 00:18:03.75\00:18:06.75 particles and items that you would normally throw away 00:18:06.78\00:18:10.02 you put in this bag. In this specific bag. Not regular 00:18:10.05\00:18:12.42 garbage or trash of stuff of that nature. You put that in 00:18:12.45\00:18:15.12 this specific bag. And then you take that and then I'm hoping 00:18:15.16\00:18:18.83 we all have a garden. No need to buy fertilizer, you already 00:18:18.86\00:18:21.80 have your own fertilizer. It used to be in your fridge and 00:18:21.83\00:18:24.93 now it got bagged. And you take that and what you have now is 00:18:24.97\00:18:28.44 compost. You put that in your garden and you're just like 00:18:28.47\00:18:31.34 growing roses and tomatoes and all that stuff naturally 00:18:31.37\00:18:35.74 This is like aka organic and you don't have to pay for it 00:18:35.78\00:18:39.25 because you already did when you bought the food 00:18:39.28\00:18:40.82 and it went bad. So please, it's best to hold off on 00:18:40.85\00:18:43.62 spoiling or old items don't be cutting in pieces and trying 00:18:43.65\00:18:46.72 to save the rest. Just go ahead and put that in the 00:18:46.76\00:18:48.79 garden. But today we're gonna make this super 00:18:48.82\00:18:50.29 super healthy soup and recipe is quite simple 00:18:50.33\00:18:54.83 Quite a few ingredients of course, 00:18:54.86\00:18:56.23 but here it is. Let's take a quick look 00:18:56.26\00:18:57.93 All you need for the super healthy soup is 00:18:57.97\00:19:00.54 But this is not no regular soup we're gonna put dumplings in it 00:19:38.97\00:19:41.91 as well and here's a quick recipe for the dumplings. 00:19:41.94\00:19:44.45 Now I don't know about our chopper, that was super tiring! 00:19:53.52\00:19:57.69 But I know by the time I finish cooking this soup and makin it 00:19:57.73\00:20:00.56 I'm going to be super healthy by the grace of God of course 00:20:00.60\00:20:04.33 and what you do is the recipe is quite easy. Have your lentils 00:20:04.37\00:20:07.44 Take your lentils, you can use split peas. Put it in a pot 00:20:07.47\00:20:11.71 We're going to turn this fire on but I'm going to share with you 00:20:11.74\00:20:14.38 a simple way to do it. You take that, you basically, easiest 00:20:14.41\00:20:17.15 thing to do, take all your ingredients and load it up 00:20:17.18\00:20:20.52 don't tell nobody what you put in it because they maybe 00:20:20.55\00:20:23.95 concerned. So we add all the ingredients. We have the carrots 00:20:23.99\00:20:27.62 in there. Also as I said we're going to keep some more water 00:20:27.66\00:20:31.26 because what we gonna do, we gonna boil it nicely 00:20:31.29\00:20:34.33 until it's ready to go. We have our onions in there, we have 00:20:34.36\00:20:39.53 the celery in there. You don't need me to teach you how to 00:20:39.57\00:20:42.90 do this. You probably could do this yourself. 00:20:42.94\00:20:45.17 But we're sharing all or some of the super, super items 00:20:45.21\00:20:49.34 that works for us here and we have our seasonings 00:20:49.38\00:20:54.58 as well, our herbs, we're gonna turn the fire up. I already have 00:20:54.62\00:20:58.32 a finished product for you all 00:20:58.35\00:21:01.89 And people are like why are you adding some honey to that? 00:21:01.92\00:21:04.49 We never add honey to ours but watch this, this is key 00:21:04.53\00:21:07.50 it's going to add some serious serious flavor 00:21:07.53\00:21:10.43 to your super healthy soup. So we're gonna add some honey 00:21:10.47\00:21:13.64 in that, get this water boiling eventually and 00:21:13.67\00:21:17.84 your bay leaf, yeah you all know about bay leaf 00:21:17.87\00:21:20.98 it probably wasn't in there but we're gonna add one little 00:21:21.01\00:21:23.58 bay leaf, maybe two you know your choice, and then sea salt 00:21:23.61\00:21:27.18 of course to taste. I like to start off with less salt 00:21:27.22\00:21:30.42 and I like to put the rest in eventually. So we gonna 00:21:30.45\00:21:34.96 let this boil, but then we have to get the coconut milk 00:21:34.99\00:21:37.93 Don't tell anybody but this is actually the secret ingredient 00:21:37.96\00:21:41.36 This is going to provide you with lots of vitamins. minerals 00:21:41.40\00:21:46.30 adds a little flavor to it. Ah man you're all going to enjoy 00:21:46.33\00:21:50.97 this here and then what you eventually do is you cover 00:21:51.01\00:21:54.28 this up nicely and let that cook properly there, so 00:21:54.31\00:22:00.22 that right there is gonna get our super healthy soup 00:22:00.25\00:22:04.09 started. This is like I said a little bit earlier, dangerously 00:22:04.12\00:22:08.32 good for you. Now why do I consider it dangerously good? 00:22:08.36\00:22:11.19 Because of all the stuff that we put in there, it's gonna be 00:22:11.23\00:22:14.06 like, don't play around with this thing, this thing 00:22:14.10\00:22:16.40 will fill you up. You eat too much you may not want to eat 00:22:16.43\00:22:18.70 again for another week you know because it's super what? 00:22:18.73\00:22:21.90 Super healthy. 00:22:21.94\00:22:23.27 But as that goes ahead and starts to cook 00:22:23.30\00:22:26.07 it's going to simmer. You know it takes a little bit of time 00:22:26.11\00:22:28.94 you don't need me to teach you how to do it, you always check 00:22:28.98\00:22:31.28 the lentils to make sure they're nice and they start to break up 00:22:31.31\00:22:34.58 for you and get soft. If you want to use different beans 00:22:34.62\00:22:37.52 that's fantastic too. Some people use kidney beans 00:22:37.55\00:22:40.16 some people use pinto beans. With those however, because 00:22:40.19\00:22:44.16 they're sized a little bigger we like to soak those overnight 00:22:44.19\00:22:48.56 ok? Soak those overnight, put a little salt in it. 00:22:48.60\00:22:51.73 Let them soak and then next day you have to change that water 00:22:51.77\00:22:57.04 beans they cause trouble in here and obviously because of the 00:22:57.07\00:23:02.31 skin, the carbohydrate is really hard for it to break down 00:23:03.18\00:23:07.08 so then it gets very what? very flammable. I don't think 00:23:07.12\00:23:10.79 you need me to explain what I'm talkin about here, the beans 00:23:10.82\00:23:13.29 So what you do is you take those beans you soaked overnight 00:23:13.32\00:23:15.99 Wash them, rinse them properly then you start a new batch 00:23:16.02\00:23:19.96 of water and you put all of the other ingredients in there 00:23:20.00\00:23:22.86 and you can use any beans of your choice, alright? 00:23:22.90\00:23:26.50 As that gets going, we want to make some dumplings 00:23:26.53\00:23:30.61 This is what we call the heavy hitter and what I mean by that 00:23:30.64\00:23:34.24 when you eat a dumpling it's no joke. 00:23:34.28\00:23:36.41 It will dump at the bottom of your stomach 00:23:36.44\00:23:38.61 and you will not want to eat again. That's why it's called 00:23:38.65\00:23:40.82 the super healthy soup. And it's real easy how to make 00:23:40.85\00:23:44.75 your dumpling. I already shared with you, all you need is the 00:23:44.79\00:23:48.36 flour, you take some salt and put that in there nicely 00:23:48.39\00:23:55.33 and you mix those up real quick 00:23:55.36\00:23:58.70 and you go ahead and you'll go ahead and add water 00:24:00.50\00:24:04.07 OK? So we're gonna add some water to that. This is dumpling 00:24:04.11\00:24:08.01 Whole wheat dumpling. You see my Momma's from Trinidad 00:24:08.04\00:24:11.95 and when she made soup we wondered what are these big 00:24:11.98\00:24:15.85 things at the bottom of the soup and you almost had to cut them 00:24:15.88\00:24:20.09 it was like a piece of meat or something like that 00:24:20.12\00:24:21.86 That was basically dumpling, alright? 00:24:21.89\00:24:24.09 So you mix that up basically nicely there and what you 00:24:24.13\00:24:26.86 you're gonna end up with is 00:24:26.90\00:24:30.37 Oops there we go, we're in the kitchen we're having fun 00:24:30.40\00:24:33.10 you're going to end up with something of this nature 00:24:33.13\00:24:35.07 almost like a Playdoh a little bit there. 00:24:35.10\00:24:36.81 That's dumpling. So you can make any different type of stuff 00:24:36.84\00:24:40.61 Make sure you have kids in the kitchen so they can learn 00:24:40.64\00:24:42.91 how to make dumpling. You can make almost a vegelink dumpling 00:24:42.94\00:24:48.25 You see the vegelink dumpling? 00:24:48.28\00:24:49.88 You drop that right there. Then you can make a sausage dumpling 00:24:49.92\00:24:54.79 You put that right there. So there are many different types 00:24:54.82\00:24:58.99 you can do. You can do a quarter pounder dumpling 00:24:59.03\00:25:02.13 Alright, you know what a quarter pounder dumpling is? 00:25:02.16\00:25:06.37 big one there, they boil it in water with some pumpkin or 00:25:06.40\00:25:10.57 some cassava or... different types of West Indian 00:25:10.61\00:25:16.44 veggies and so you have a quarter pounder there. What you 00:25:16.48\00:25:19.31 do with the dumpling however, don't put it in at the beginning 00:25:19.35\00:25:22.35 of when you cook the soup. You put it like midway through or 00:25:22.38\00:25:25.42 latter half, maybe 20 minutes before it's finished there 00:25:25.45\00:25:30.46 and the dumpling is fantastic. Cornmeal is also another item 00:25:30.49\00:25:34.10 that we can use for the dumpling So enjoy this 00:25:34.13\00:25:36.90 This is not your Asian dumpling this is Caribbean dumpling 00:25:36.93\00:25:40.77 Remember we're trying to have a taste of paradise here, so 00:25:40.80\00:25:42.70 you can have that as well. What I have done here, however 00:25:42.74\00:25:46.37 is I have the finished product of the soup here 00:25:46.41\00:25:49.58 just give me a second as I move this one here 00:25:49.61\00:25:52.45 When it finishes it should come out looking somewhat like that 00:25:52.48\00:25:58.12 alright? This is called Super Healthy Soup. 00:25:58.15\00:26:02.22 One person says, man this thing is so thick and this is 00:26:02.26\00:26:05.69 is another key we want to get to. A lot of times we 00:26:05.73\00:26:08.80 share with people it's best to hold off on eating and 00:26:08.83\00:26:12.27 drinking at the same time. What that does is, it messes up 00:26:12.30\00:26:14.84 your digestive process. It's best to drink the water 00:26:14.87\00:26:17.41 15 minutes before you eat, some say 30. No problem 00:26:17.44\00:26:21.14 your choice and the key is to hold off drinking while we eat 00:26:21.18\00:26:25.71 so we can wait for at least an hour till after we eat 00:26:25.75\00:26:28.12 because what it does is it dilutes the digestive juices 00:26:28.15\00:26:31.45 basically water has VIP access to your body. So whatever you 00:26:31.49\00:26:35.22 put in first, if water comes in after it's pushing everybody 00:26:35.26\00:26:38.03 through, you know what I'm talkin about. It goes in first 00:26:38.06\00:26:40.53 and you wonder why you're trying to sleep at night 00:26:40.56\00:26:43.26 stuff is coming back up and you're burping and all 00:26:43.30\00:26:45.83 of these problems are happening it's because we're eating and 00:26:45.87\00:26:48.47 drinking, we're diluting that stuff and our body now has to 00:26:48.50\00:26:51.21 work even harder to digest the food. 00:26:51.24\00:26:53.01 So what do we need to do here today? We need to make thick 00:26:53.04\00:26:55.68 soup because people always call, well if I can't eat 00:26:55.71\00:26:58.21 and drink at the same time how do I make my soup? 00:26:58.25\00:27:01.82 We just don't make watery soup and y'all know what I'm talkin 00:27:01.85\00:27:04.19 about, watery soup. You make the soup and you're fishin 00:27:04.22\00:27:06.15 for the noodles, you're fishin for the beans 00:27:06.19\00:27:08.26 You're like, man where's this thing at? No. no, no. You make 00:27:08.29\00:27:11.26 some thick soup. How do you know if you have good soup? 00:27:11.29\00:27:14.03 You're ready for the test? 00:27:14.06\00:27:15.96 This is the test here. 00:27:16.00\00:27:17.70 If your spoon stands in the soup 00:27:18.87\00:27:22.30 it's good soup. This is what we're talkin about 00:27:22.34\00:27:25.91 super healthy, you see that, check that out. 00:27:25.94\00:27:28.21 That man is at attention. We don't want soup to be at ease 00:27:28.24\00:27:32.38 or leanin back to left or right. Want attention! 00:27:32.41\00:27:35.15 This is one of the pathfinders soup, you know that? 00:27:35.18\00:27:37.35 That's what we call this, Pathfinders Soup 00:27:37.39\00:27:39.12 So go ahead and this is how our soup should be 00:27:39.15\00:27:41.99 You go ahead, you take some of that and put it in a nice bowl 00:27:42.02\00:27:45.69 there and warm it up and when people eat this they're gonna 00:27:45.73\00:27:49.46 have a blast if you don't mind I'm gonna have some of the soup 00:27:49.50\00:27:53.64 the healthy soup cause I'm hungry and enjoy it 00:27:53.67\00:27:55.87 and you will be super, super healthy. 00:27:55.90\00:27:59.81
