Have you ever wondered 00:00:01.33\00:00:02.66 exactly how to prepare healthy food 00:00:02.70\00:00:04.03 that actually tastes good? 00:00:04.07\00:00:05.70 Well stay tuned while Evita Tezeno 00:00:05.73\00:00:07.70 and yours truly Nyse Collins 00:00:07.74\00:00:09.20 show you just how to do it 00:00:09.24\00:00:10.67 and give you something better, 00:00:10.71\00:00:12.37 a taste of paradise. 00:00:12.41\00:00:13.98 Welcome to A Taste of Paradise. 00:00:30.73\00:00:32.79 My name is Evita Tezeno. 00:00:32.83\00:00:35.83 You know, we all love cheese, 00:00:35.86\00:00:39.10 cheese is the American food. 00:00:39.13\00:00:42.54 But cheese really don't like us. 00:00:42.57\00:00:45.64 Cheese is fermented, 00:00:45.67\00:00:48.54 it's really rotten, it's rotten food, 00:00:48.58\00:00:51.65 and it's not really good for us. 00:00:51.68\00:00:54.15 But I have a cheese for you that is plant based, 00:00:54.18\00:00:58.62 that does not come from any animal products, 00:00:58.65\00:01:01.36 and it is delicious. 00:01:01.39\00:01:04.63 So the recipe, the ingredients are: 00:01:04.66\00:01:08.03 Now today I'm using a Vitamix, 00:01:32.39\00:01:36.26 and all of these nuts have been soaked overnight, 00:01:36.29\00:01:41.60 but you can soak them for four hours, 00:01:41.63\00:01:43.06 like the recipe said. 00:01:43.10\00:01:45.27 These are macadamia nuts, 00:01:45.30\00:01:48.20 and these are almonds that have been, 00:01:48.24\00:01:50.91 the skin has been taken off of it. 00:01:50.94\00:01:52.84 One cup of water, 00:01:58.08\00:01:59.65 and I add the tahini 00:02:03.52\00:02:06.29 which is a great source of calcium, 00:02:06.32\00:02:12.89 and we're blending. 00:02:12.93\00:02:14.30 And we want to make sure that is smooth, 00:02:45.96\00:02:49.46 and here's the fun part now. 00:02:49.50\00:02:50.97 So now we take the mixture of the almonds 00:02:54.30\00:02:57.97 and the macadamia nuts and we place it in a strainer 00:02:58.01\00:03:02.01 that has cheese cloth 00:03:02.04\00:03:03.95 and you want the bowl underneath it 00:03:03.98\00:03:05.75 to get the drippings. 00:03:05.78\00:03:07.22 This is so much fun to make. 00:03:12.32\00:03:14.62 I make this all the time 00:03:14.66\00:03:17.13 and I keep it in my refrigerator at all times. 00:03:17.16\00:03:22.16 'Cause before I became a total vegetarian, 00:03:22.20\00:03:26.07 I loved cheese. 00:03:26.10\00:03:28.54 But I suffered from migraines a whole lot 00:03:28.57\00:03:31.67 and when I started studying and reading, 00:03:31.71\00:03:34.18 I learnt that cheese was one of the main culprits. 00:03:34.24\00:03:38.65 So I took it out of my diet 00:03:38.68\00:03:41.68 and I still needed that cheesy craving, 00:03:41.72\00:03:44.29 I still had a cheesy craving. 00:03:44.32\00:03:46.45 So when I found this recipe, oh I was so, so excited. 00:03:46.49\00:03:52.09 So now we take this mixture in the cheese cloth 00:03:56.46\00:04:00.67 and we twirl it around like this. 00:04:04.84\00:04:08.61 And I came up with this little contraption, 00:04:08.64\00:04:10.75 this is a bowl, 00:04:10.78\00:04:13.72 put this and this is a jar that I have pennies in. 00:04:13.75\00:04:18.35 it's very heavy, 00:04:18.39\00:04:19.72 I think it weighs about maybe four pounds, 00:04:19.75\00:04:22.39 maybe not that much, but maybe. 00:04:22.42\00:04:24.76 And place this and you would notice that 00:04:24.79\00:04:29.13 the liquid is getting ready to, 00:04:29.16\00:04:34.64 is coming out of the bottom. 00:04:34.67\00:04:36.81 And you want to sit this in your refrigerator overnight. 00:04:36.87\00:04:39.71 So this is the product that has been sitting 00:04:47.08\00:04:52.45 in the refrigerator overnight. 00:04:52.49\00:04:56.79 Look it's cheese, it's like soft cream cheese. 00:04:56.83\00:05:01.73 Isn't that amazing? 00:05:01.76\00:05:05.63 Now what I want to do now is combine yeast flakes, 00:05:05.67\00:05:12.37 lemon juice, 00:05:12.41\00:05:15.24 salt, 00:05:15.28\00:05:17.78 and maple syrup 00:05:17.81\00:05:20.95 'cause you know you need that salt and that sweet taste. 00:05:20.98\00:05:25.62 And you combine this 00:05:25.65\00:05:27.72 and you want to make sure 00:05:34.93\00:05:36.26 that you stir it very thoroughly, 00:05:36.30\00:05:40.10 you're mixing all the ingredients. 00:05:40.14\00:05:42.07 Now after the ingredients are all mixed, 00:05:48.64\00:05:51.28 you want to take, 00:05:54.42\00:05:55.95 this is a spring form pan 00:05:55.98\00:05:59.89 with some more cheese cloth. 00:06:04.06\00:06:05.56 And you want to just place it in here. 00:06:10.47\00:06:13.54 And continue until you have 00:06:26.38\00:06:30.19 all the pA¢tA(C) in this container. 00:06:30.22\00:06:35.89 And then you want to cover it 00:06:38.99\00:06:40.90 and set a weight on top of it, 00:06:45.27\00:06:47.10 in your refrigerator overnight. 00:06:47.14\00:06:49.74 And 00:06:53.34\00:06:54.68 here is the finished product. 00:06:57.91\00:07:01.02 Can you believe this? 00:07:04.02\00:07:05.92 Now this cuts just like cheese, 00:07:05.95\00:07:09.49 like a soft brie. 00:07:09.52\00:07:11.33 Spread it on a cracker. 00:07:15.60\00:07:18.67 I can't wait, I can't wait. 00:07:18.70\00:07:20.74 Mmm, 00:07:24.37\00:07:27.18 this is so good. 00:07:27.21\00:07:29.58 Now if you want extra firmness, 00:07:29.61\00:07:33.55 you can dehydrate this overnight 00:07:33.62\00:07:37.65 and it gets more firm, 00:07:37.69\00:07:41.09 or you can serve it like it is. 00:07:41.12\00:07:43.16 This could be spread on crackers, on bread, 00:07:43.19\00:07:47.96 and you can also spread it on, 00:07:47.96\00:07:50.77 as a bottom for pizza. 00:07:50.83\00:07:54.54 This is a great recipe. 00:07:54.57\00:07:59.14 Remember, 00:07:59.17\00:08:01.71 fresh eating is fresh living, 00:08:01.74\00:08:06.95 until next time. 00:08:06.98\00:08:08.32 Sweet too for your sweet eyes. 00:08:15.39\00:08:17.39 Grandma says 00:08:17.46\00:08:18.79 she's going to make some sweet potato pie. 00:08:18.83\00:08:20.43 I don't know about you all but I used to love 00:08:20.46\00:08:22.43 when grandma used to make that sweet potato pie, 00:08:22.46\00:08:24.90 because it's so delicious, so tasty. 00:08:24.93\00:08:27.27 And man for some reason you just got a boost of energy 00:08:27.34\00:08:30.31 and so I'll always look forward to that day. 00:08:30.34\00:08:32.61 But as I started to grow old, you know, 00:08:32.64\00:08:34.81 this happened long time ago when I used to be young, 00:08:34.84\00:08:36.64 before you all were around. 00:08:36.68\00:08:38.08 As we look at what it was 00:08:38.11\00:08:40.52 actually put into that sweet potato, 00:08:40.55\00:08:42.32 she did pretty good, 00:08:42.35\00:08:43.69 she had a couple of extra ingredients, 00:08:43.72\00:08:45.05 you know, that probably was a little questionable. 00:08:45.09\00:08:46.89 But hey, it was delicious. 00:08:46.96\00:08:48.86 So today we're going to make a sweet potato pie 00:08:48.89\00:08:51.09 that's actually helpful, tasty, 00:08:51.13\00:08:53.60 and man, if you want seconds, go right ahead, 00:08:53.63\00:08:55.96 don't worry about it, 00:08:56.00\00:08:57.33 you won't have to hit a extra lap on the track 00:08:57.37\00:08:59.87 or anything of that nature, but why sweet potatoes, 00:08:59.90\00:09:03.00 why we're choosing sweet potatoes. 00:09:03.04\00:09:04.51 We could have done pumpkin, we could have done, 00:09:04.54\00:09:07.44 I don't know something else rhubarb 00:09:07.51\00:09:09.28 or who knows or carrots or something. 00:09:09.31\00:09:12.05 But sweet potato is an amazing starchy veg, 00:09:12.08\00:09:16.08 as if you wanna call it. 00:09:16.12\00:09:17.52 It is very good for the body, 00:09:17.55\00:09:20.19 actually it's so helpful that a person 00:09:20.22\00:09:23.16 who's dealing with cholesterol is good for that. 00:09:23.19\00:09:25.29 It's also helpful for a person dealing with hypertension, 00:09:25.33\00:09:28.06 because of the items that it contains, 00:09:28.10\00:09:30.17 it helps to protect the inner lining of your arteries, 00:09:30.20\00:09:34.40 you know, that inner lining 00:09:34.44\00:09:35.77 where cholesterol loves to hang out. 00:09:35.80\00:09:37.21 And build up and block stuff and heart attacks 00:09:37.24\00:09:39.67 and stuff of that nature. 00:09:39.71\00:09:41.04 And it's also helpful 00:09:41.08\00:09:42.41 as it protects the inner lining, 00:09:42.44\00:09:43.78 what happens to the blood pressure. 00:09:43.85\00:09:45.18 It just continues to do what it do best, 00:09:45.21\00:09:46.55 instead of going high or too low. 00:09:46.58\00:09:48.18 So enjoy sweet potatoes. 00:09:48.22\00:09:49.55 Why else are sweet potatoes good? 00:09:49.58\00:09:51.19 It has certain irons, which is helpful, 00:09:51.22\00:09:53.19 also that it gives you a like, not false sense of fullness, 00:09:53.22\00:09:57.69 but actually it causes you to feel really full, 00:09:57.73\00:10:01.03 and for several hours at a time. 00:10:01.06\00:10:03.20 So when in doubt, 00:10:03.23\00:10:04.57 if you leaving your house you're like, 00:10:04.60\00:10:05.93 "Man, I need to eat something," 00:10:05.97\00:10:07.30 that is good, that will hold me over. 00:10:07.34\00:10:08.94 You better grab some sweet potato. 00:10:08.97\00:10:11.11 Why not even grab a slice of your sweet potato pie, 00:10:11.14\00:10:13.44 who knew, that this pie will be so good 00:10:13.48\00:10:15.44 for all of these items. 00:10:15.48\00:10:16.81 What else is it good for? 00:10:16.85\00:10:18.18 A person who is looking to balance 00:10:18.21\00:10:19.55 some of their 00:10:24.39\00:10:27.32 as you would get from some of the other items 00:10:27.36\00:10:29.26 that we can buy from you know they say, 00:10:29.29\00:10:31.23 fast food, you eat fast food you live a crust, 00:10:44.14\00:10:45.47 and then we're gonna go ahead and fill it up with the pie. 00:10:45.51\00:10:47.51 Here's the ingredients to this delicious crust. 00:10:47.54\00:10:50.48 All you need is: 00:10:50.51\00:10:51.85 Now who can't do that, 00:11:07.93\00:11:09.50 that's like the easiest pie crust around the town. 00:11:09.53\00:11:12.17 Everybody can do it. 00:11:12.20\00:11:13.54 No need to go and buy it anymore, 00:11:13.60\00:11:15.44 because when we start looking at the ingredients 00:11:15.47\00:11:17.07 on some of those pie crusts we buy, 00:11:17.11\00:11:18.44 it is danger, danger, stay away, beware, 00:11:18.47\00:11:21.91 it tastes good. 00:11:21.94\00:11:23.31 But, you know, 00:11:23.35\00:11:24.68 what the bad part of it is 00:11:24.71\00:11:27.02 or what are the results from eating this. 00:11:27.08\00:11:28.82 So we're going to show you how to dish this up. 00:11:28.85\00:11:30.89 So right here, in my bowl 00:11:30.95\00:11:32.65 all I have is the whole wheat flour there. 00:11:32.69\00:11:34.92 We're going to go ahead 00:11:34.96\00:11:36.42 and we're going to add some of that cane sugar. 00:11:36.46\00:11:38.89 Now real quick, if you don't have cane sugar, 00:11:38.93\00:11:41.83 if you notice I'm using little more cane sugar lately with 00:11:41.86\00:11:43.60 and I'm gonna go ahead 00:11:43.63\00:11:44.97 and just put in a salt and I mix that, 00:11:45.00\00:11:46.33 I'll tell you about the cane sugar. 00:11:46.37\00:11:47.74 We will us a little more cane sugar why, 00:11:47.77\00:11:50.04 because it's readily available now, 00:11:50.07\00:11:52.47 everybody has access to it. 00:11:52.51\00:11:54.31 But if you notice in the recipe, 00:11:54.34\00:11:56.58 we shared with you that you can easily use molasses. 00:11:56.61\00:11:59.68 Molasses is fantastic, 00:11:59.71\00:12:01.52 a matter of fact molasses is loaded 00:12:01.55\00:12:04.29 with a lot of good iron 00:12:04.32\00:12:05.72 as magnesium and potassium 00:12:05.75\00:12:08.29 and this thing is amazing. 00:12:08.32\00:12:10.06 Even better than molasses is blackstrap molasses, 00:12:10.13\00:12:13.63 which have triple the amount of regular molasses of calcium. 00:12:13.70\00:12:17.13 You looking to have strong healthy bones, 00:12:17.17\00:12:18.97 right here, molasses, 00:12:19.00\00:12:20.34 I'm going ahead and advertising for that. 00:12:20.40\00:12:22.30 But hey, enjoy the molasses, 00:12:22.34\00:12:24.07 we used to give this molasses to the cows, 00:12:24.11\00:12:26.57 and to the chickens and stuff 00:12:26.64\00:12:27.98 and they're walking along a big strong healthy bones, 00:12:28.01\00:12:29.94 while our bones are crumbling to pieces. 00:12:30.01\00:12:32.28 Take it back from the cow and eat it yourself. 00:12:32.31\00:12:35.02 And a matter of fact a lot of people don't like it, 00:12:35.05\00:12:36.99 because it kind of tastes strong a bit. 00:12:37.05\00:12:39.29 But you can do it now in the crust 00:12:39.32\00:12:41.32 so you can enjoy it, 00:12:41.36\00:12:42.69 while you're enjoying your sweet potato pie. 00:12:42.72\00:12:44.09 Then what we're going to do, as you notice, 00:12:44.13\00:12:46.26 I have to go ahead and put down, 00:12:46.29\00:12:47.66 now we're going to get our hands into the mix here. 00:12:47.73\00:12:49.60 We're going to go ahead, 00:12:49.63\00:12:50.97 and we're going to take that butter 00:12:51.00\00:12:52.33 or the soy butter. 00:12:52.37\00:12:53.70 Let me just grab a little spoon here, 00:12:53.77\00:12:55.50 and we gotta put that in 00:12:55.54\00:12:56.87 and we're going to mix this up properly 00:12:56.94\00:12:58.64 and so almost like a crumble or something of that nature. 00:12:58.67\00:13:01.81 So get as much as you can there. 00:13:01.84\00:13:04.45 If you have the better butter 00:13:04.48\00:13:05.91 hey, try better butter as well, 00:13:05.95\00:13:07.55 if you don't have the soy butter. 00:13:07.62\00:13:09.95 Go ahead and mix that up nicely. 00:13:09.98\00:13:12.79 I used to love doing this, and a matter of fact, 00:13:12.82\00:13:14.99 I encourage you all to get your children involved. 00:13:15.02\00:13:18.69 A lot of time the kids are just sitting 00:13:18.73\00:13:20.40 and they're playing all these video games 00:13:20.43\00:13:22.20 and they're talking about, "Mom, when is the food ready?" 00:13:22.23\00:13:23.63 "What? 00:13:23.67\00:13:25.00 You want some food, 00:13:25.03\00:13:26.37 come and get it yourself, make it yourself." 00:13:26.40\00:13:27.74 Go ahead and let them come. 00:13:27.77\00:13:29.10 I remember the good old days, we used to just make a mess, 00:13:29.14\00:13:31.54 flour all over the place. 00:13:31.57\00:13:33.44 We got a couple slaps on the head, now, 00:13:33.48\00:13:35.71 I shouldn't say that too loud, 00:13:35.74\00:13:37.45 I don't want Child Services to go after my mom. 00:13:37.51\00:13:39.21 But hey, we had the best time, it was the best memories 00:13:39.25\00:13:42.38 and as a result now today, 00:13:42.42\00:13:43.79 I can share some of these recipes with you. 00:13:43.85\00:13:45.82 So please get the children involved. 00:13:45.85\00:13:48.26 Can you imagine they're making their own cakes 00:13:48.29\00:13:50.53 and stuff of that nature? 00:13:50.59\00:13:52.06 Please, don't waste and turn off the TV 00:13:52.09\00:13:54.73 come into the VIP room 00:13:54.76\00:13:56.46 and make some good sweet potato pies 00:13:56.50\00:13:59.23 as they're always asking for it. 00:13:59.27\00:14:00.74 Then what you do, after you mix that up, 00:14:00.77\00:14:03.30 you take that nice ice-cold water, 00:14:03.34\00:14:05.17 I hope it's still cold. 00:14:05.21\00:14:06.54 And you pour that over there, and you're gonna, 00:14:06.57\00:14:09.61 it's going to give you some more consistency there. 00:14:09.64\00:14:13.05 Okay, then we're gonna make into a nice little ball 00:14:13.08\00:14:16.89 in a second here. 00:14:16.92\00:14:18.52 As you notice this is starting to come together nicely, 00:14:18.55\00:14:20.96 this is your crust. 00:14:20.99\00:14:22.72 Now, I know we could have went and we could've bought it, 00:14:22.76\00:14:25.03 but now, you can do it almost for free 00:14:25.06\00:14:27.93 and you don't have to worry about what's in it. 00:14:27.96\00:14:29.83 And so nicely as you see here, you have your, 00:14:29.86\00:14:33.94 your dough or your crust, 00:14:34.00\00:14:36.30 and then what we're gonna to do, 00:14:36.34\00:14:37.67 we're going to move this over, we're gonna take some flour, 00:14:37.71\00:14:39.91 we're gonna lay it out there. 00:14:39.94\00:14:41.44 I know we're in the kitchen, don't worry if you make a mess, 00:14:41.48\00:14:44.35 it's okay, it's okay. 00:14:44.38\00:14:46.61 You spent all the money on this kitchen, so what, 00:14:46.68\00:14:48.75 keep it perfectly clean, use it one person said. 00:14:48.78\00:14:53.25 And so you, you put that there 00:14:53.32\00:14:56.36 and we have our roller pin in a second 00:14:56.39\00:14:58.06 because we're gonna roll this out. 00:14:58.09\00:14:59.43 And oh, man, I'm thinking, 00:14:59.46\00:15:03.06 I'm gonna want to make some bread after this. 00:15:03.10\00:15:04.80 So as you see them, you put some more flour there, 00:15:04.83\00:15:08.90 and I went ahead and I just put all the water, 00:15:08.94\00:15:11.14 if you put less even better, but go ahead. 00:15:11.17\00:15:15.84 And mix that there and hey, 00:15:15.88\00:15:18.35 now you can practice a little massage 00:15:18.38\00:15:20.32 at the same time, 00:15:20.35\00:15:22.15 I'm sure your spouse or whoever would enjoy that. 00:15:22.18\00:15:26.86 You put just a little bit more, and then we just roll it, 00:15:26.89\00:15:31.33 as you can see it's pretty much there already. 00:15:31.36\00:15:35.06 Just roll it out nicely, not too much, 00:15:35.10\00:15:38.37 we're not making roti or anything, or burritos, 00:15:38.40\00:15:41.60 or tortillas, so just take it easy there. 00:15:41.64\00:15:47.44 Actually this is really, really, really good. 00:15:47.48\00:15:52.81 Now the messy part is gonna come up now here in a second. 00:15:52.85\00:15:55.22 I just want to make enough, 00:15:55.25\00:15:56.58 so it fits into my into my bacon dish. 00:15:56.65\00:16:01.56 All right, so I'm gonna to put that there. 00:16:01.59\00:16:04.96 This is the part where it breaks up on you, 00:16:04.99\00:16:09.43 but you've got to do it wise. 00:16:09.46\00:16:10.80 And so now, 00:16:10.87\00:16:12.20 I take my regular nice little baking dish as you see here. 00:16:12.23\00:16:15.80 You put it right there on top. 00:16:15.84\00:16:18.81 It is the part 00:16:18.84\00:16:21.81 and then, you just flip it. 00:16:21.84\00:16:25.21 One, two, three. 00:16:25.25\00:16:29.15 Yippy! 00:16:29.18\00:16:30.69 It went through, 00:16:30.72\00:16:32.05 and then you just pull it right back 00:16:32.09\00:16:33.42 over saw it folds in nicely. 00:16:33.46\00:16:35.42 Sometimes it will fold over, but you should be fine here. 00:16:35.46\00:16:38.46 And then you have your crust you, 00:16:38.49\00:16:40.13 you take off all of these parts. 00:16:40.20\00:16:42.56 And don't waste anything you can take that 00:16:42.60\00:16:45.33 and make a cool design. 00:16:45.37\00:16:47.14 I'm not gonna do that here today, 00:16:47.20\00:16:49.10 but you have your crust here, very nice and easy to make. 00:16:49.14\00:16:52.44 Maybe you can use this for decorations on top. 00:16:52.47\00:16:55.58 So don't throw that away, save that for later. 00:16:55.61\00:16:57.95 And voila, we have our pie crust, 00:16:57.98\00:17:00.75 you're gonna take this now, 00:17:00.78\00:17:02.12 you gonna put it in oven for about 00:17:02.15\00:17:03.62 5, 10, 20, 15 minutes on medium heat, 00:17:03.65\00:17:06.35 not too much, 00:17:06.39\00:17:07.72 just to get a little toasty there. 00:17:07.76\00:17:09.09 But you don't want to cook it too much, 00:17:09.12\00:17:10.49 because we still have to put the pumpkin, 00:17:10.56\00:17:13.06 not the pumpkin, look at that. 00:17:13.09\00:17:14.40 I'm still talking about pumpkin, 00:17:14.46\00:17:15.80 sweet potato pie filling, all right. 00:17:15.83\00:17:17.77 So we're going to move on to that next one now. 00:17:17.80\00:17:20.84 The recipe for the Sweet Potato Pie filler 00:17:20.87\00:17:23.61 really, simple, and easy, all you need is what: 00:17:23.64\00:17:25.34 Now I know you all are thinking, 00:17:47.00\00:17:48.30 wait a second. 00:17:48.33\00:17:49.66 That's not how grandma made it 00:17:49.70\00:17:51.03 for our sweet eyes and our sweet soup 00:17:51.07\00:17:53.13 and I know she put a little extra ingredients, 00:17:53.17\00:17:55.74 more sugar, more this, more that, 00:17:55.77\00:17:57.77 but we don't have to do that no more. 00:17:57.81\00:17:59.21 And we can still get some of the same effect 00:17:59.24\00:18:02.31 and a blessing as a result of making this beautiful, 00:18:02.34\00:18:05.81 beautiful tasty and delicious sweet potato pie. 00:18:05.85\00:18:09.02 But what is the key ingredient again, 00:18:09.05\00:18:10.65 is the sweet potato. 00:18:10.72\00:18:12.05 I went ahead and cut one and half. 00:18:12.09\00:18:13.42 This thing is amazing. 00:18:13.46\00:18:14.86 This is like a little extra gift from God, 00:18:14.89\00:18:16.62 He was just like, 00:18:16.66\00:18:17.99 you know, y'all, y'all so nice, 00:18:18.03\00:18:19.36 I'm going to give you something that you can enjoy. 00:18:19.39\00:18:21.23 So one person said God has a sweet tooth too 00:18:21.26\00:18:23.03 and that's why He made sweet potato pie. 00:18:23.06\00:18:25.67 I don't know if He made the sweet potato pie, 00:18:25.70\00:18:27.04 but I know He made the sweet potato. 00:18:27.07\00:18:28.40 Amen. 00:18:28.44\00:18:29.77 And so we have a sweet potato. 00:18:29.80\00:18:31.14 All you need to do is cut up. 00:18:31.17\00:18:32.51 You're going to need about a couple of cups of that. 00:18:32.54\00:18:34.78 So you just cut them up really nice, 00:18:34.81\00:18:38.35 there you go and get them rolling. 00:18:38.38\00:18:42.12 Let me tell you also why these sweet potato is an amazing item 00:18:42.15\00:18:47.56 that we can enjoy is because watch this. 00:18:47.59\00:18:51.46 Anybody ever felt hungry before, 00:18:51.49\00:18:54.10 the reason why you feel hungry, 00:18:54.20\00:18:55.50 and I'm gonna take these 00:18:55.53\00:18:56.87 and I'm going to put them in the pot, 00:18:56.93\00:18:58.27 all right. 00:18:58.30\00:18:59.63 The reason why you feel hungry is because 00:18:59.67\00:19:01.07 sometimes you need a little extra fats 00:19:01.10\00:19:03.37 in your foods, right. 00:19:03.44\00:19:04.77 And your body's craving for this. 00:19:04.81\00:19:06.47 And so what happens is normally, 00:19:06.51\00:19:08.98 your body craves for the fattiest food, 00:19:09.01\00:19:10.88 that's why when you're driving on a road 00:19:10.91\00:19:12.38 and you look up and you see all these billboards. 00:19:12.41\00:19:14.35 They don't just show you like, 00:19:14.38\00:19:15.72 "Oh, we're offering you today a nice salad 00:19:15.75\00:19:18.09 or something of that nature," 00:19:18.12\00:19:19.45 because your body is not looking for that, 00:19:19.49\00:19:20.89 your body looking for what? 00:19:20.92\00:19:22.26 For fatty foods 00:19:22.29\00:19:24.06 to get the craving out of the way, right. 00:19:24.09\00:19:28.93 So when you drive, 00:19:28.96\00:19:30.30 what do you see on a billboards? 00:19:30.37\00:19:31.70 Fries, and a burger and this and that. 00:19:31.73\00:19:34.24 And you'll drive and you'd all of sudden notice 00:19:34.27\00:19:37.01 your arms are starting to turn 00:19:37.04\00:19:38.67 and you're like, "Lord, what's going on?" 00:19:38.71\00:19:40.41 Is your body turning you into that drive through, 00:19:40.48\00:19:42.71 because they wants the fat, all right. 00:19:42.74\00:19:45.38 Now let's look at what sweet potatoes do. 00:19:45.41\00:19:47.92 Do you know sweet potatoes, when you eat it, 00:19:47.95\00:19:50.09 it goes ahead and say, how do I say, 00:19:50.12\00:19:53.56 it meets the same craving that you have, 00:19:53.59\00:19:56.93 but equal, almost equal to our fat. 00:19:56.96\00:19:59.19 Let me explain a little bit more. 00:19:59.23\00:20:00.60 It satisfies you, 00:20:00.63\00:20:02.56 just like fats will satisfy you. 00:20:02.60\00:20:05.13 And that's why a lot of people enjoy this 00:20:05.17\00:20:07.64 and use this to help balance the blessing. 00:20:07.67\00:20:09.80 And I know, we all want to balance that blessing 00:20:09.84\00:20:11.94 and so that's why we keep that sweet potato around 00:20:11.97\00:20:13.84 make sure this is one of the staple foods 00:20:13.88\00:20:15.78 in your VIP room, 00:20:15.81\00:20:17.91 because this is fantastic. 00:20:17.95\00:20:19.28 However let's call a timeout, or we say, 00:20:19.31\00:20:21.72 we should be eating sweet potato everyday 00:20:21.75\00:20:23.08 for the rest of our life. 00:20:23.12\00:20:24.45 No, because, your body still needs the fat, okay. 00:20:24.49\00:20:26.96 So what do you do? 00:20:27.02\00:20:28.36 You have a sweet potato, you make a nice little, 00:20:28.39\00:20:30.39 you do a nut cheese, 00:20:30.43\00:20:33.50 and you already saw what Evita did there. 00:20:33.56\00:20:35.43 So you can have the sweet potato, 00:20:35.46\00:20:37.20 put that, that nice cheese over it, 00:20:37.23\00:20:39.57 because those nuts contain what, 00:20:39.60\00:20:41.44 fats which is necessary. 00:20:41.47\00:20:43.17 So you are getting the one, two double whammy to hunger, 00:20:43.20\00:20:46.91 hunger should not exist anymore. 00:20:46.94\00:20:49.04 And we're going to balance our blessings as a result. 00:20:49.08\00:20:51.41 So you put those items in the pot. 00:20:51.45\00:20:53.25 You go ahead and you boil it till it's nice and soft, 00:20:53.28\00:20:57.05 if you want to remove the skin. 00:20:57.12\00:20:58.45 Hey, cool, me, 00:20:58.49\00:20:59.92 I just keep the skin 00:21:00.06\00:21:01.72 and you remember the little principle, 00:21:01.76\00:21:03.09 that we share or you get a chance to learn, 00:21:03.12\00:21:05.26 if it goes in rough, 00:21:05.29\00:21:06.70 that usually is doing a good job 00:21:06.73\00:21:08.03 because, you know, 00:21:08.06\00:21:09.40 what happens it comes out nice and smooth. 00:21:09.43\00:21:11.90 As you see there, as the fury, but oh, 00:21:11.93\00:21:14.50 no I'm not saying that this is what comes out, 00:21:14.54\00:21:15.87 all right. 00:21:15.90\00:21:17.27 So go ahead and you make that then when it's finished. 00:21:17.31\00:21:20.84 Just for the sake of time, 00:21:20.88\00:21:22.21 we don't have time to boil it and cooking all that stuff. 00:21:22.24\00:21:24.25 We went ahead and I made some here for you. 00:21:24.28\00:21:26.58 This is the a.k.a. 00:21:26.61\00:21:28.58 sweet potato puree that I was talking about. 00:21:28.62\00:21:30.89 So you just make sure 00:21:30.95\00:21:32.29 that is mashed together properly, 00:21:32.32\00:21:33.86 then you go ahead now, 00:21:33.92\00:21:35.86 and you add the extra ingredients that we mentioned. 00:21:35.89\00:21:38.96 We have the soy milk, 00:21:38.99\00:21:41.06 let's say you don't have soy milk, 00:21:41.10\00:21:43.13 but I have some nuts in the house, 00:21:43.16\00:21:44.97 put in almond milk, 00:21:45.00\00:21:46.33 put in cashew milk, or walnut milk, 00:21:46.37\00:21:48.50 real simple one cup of nuts to one cup of what, 00:21:48.54\00:21:51.07 you blend till it's nice and creamy, 00:21:51.11\00:21:52.47 then you add three more cups of water, 00:21:52.51\00:21:53.84 voila, milk done. 00:21:53.91\00:21:55.48 All right, then we have the maple syrup. 00:21:55.51\00:21:59.31 As we have there or honey 00:21:59.35\00:22:02.88 or you decide what you have, 00:22:02.92\00:22:06.22 one of the biggest down force 00:22:06.25\00:22:09.29 of people trying to live a healthy lifestyle, 00:22:09.32\00:22:11.29 is they don't have all of the ingredients 00:22:11.33\00:22:14.10 that should never be our situation here. 00:22:14.10\00:22:16.77 So as you see you got to work it through, 00:22:16.83\00:22:19.10 work it through, be faithful, 00:22:19.13\00:22:21.24 it's gonna come together here. 00:22:21.27\00:22:23.27 So I just mix that up nicely. 00:22:23.30\00:22:25.17 Another way that you can do in 00:22:25.21\00:22:27.14 is you can put it in the blender, 00:22:27.18\00:22:29.08 okay, but I don't have time for no blender. 00:22:29.11\00:22:32.31 Why use a blender when I can do it myself. 00:22:32.35\00:22:34.28 So I'm going to mix that in there nicely, 00:22:34.32\00:22:36.08 but I'm also going to add 00:22:36.12\00:22:37.45 the rest of the remaining ingredients here. 00:22:37.49\00:22:40.52 We have the sea salt and also our nice flavor, 00:22:40.56\00:22:47.03 and I have to tell you about this here, 00:22:47.10\00:22:49.63 lot of people enjoy that they say, 00:22:49.66\00:22:51.90 "Well, my grandma went ahead 00:22:51.93\00:22:53.70 and she added cinnamon 00:22:53.77\00:22:56.27 and she added nutmeg and she added this and that." 00:22:56.30\00:22:59.57 Yes, she probably added all those items, 00:22:59.61\00:23:01.44 but then you wondering why 00:23:01.48\00:23:02.98 the blood pressure is starting to creep up on you, 00:23:03.01\00:23:04.88 you wondering why, 00:23:04.91\00:23:06.25 you know the stomach is just bubbling, 00:23:06.28\00:23:07.75 you know what I'm talking about 00:23:07.78\00:23:09.12 because the cinnamon 00:23:09.15\00:23:10.49 and nutmeg are known as per se spices, right. 00:23:10.52\00:23:12.42 When I stand up, they're by per se. 00:23:12.45\00:23:14.62 I know many people share that cinnamon is good for diabetes 00:23:14.66\00:23:18.73 and there may be studies that show that, 00:23:18.76\00:23:20.50 but at the same time because it's the spice, 00:23:20.53\00:23:22.40 it's going to slowly, 00:23:22.43\00:23:23.77 but surely start to irritate the lining of the stomach. 00:23:23.83\00:23:25.97 So what do we use instead of cinnamon? 00:23:26.00\00:23:27.74 We use coriander, okay. 00:23:27.77\00:23:31.04 Well, what about nutmeg 00:23:31.07\00:23:33.34 they say, you know, I love nutmeg. 00:23:33.38\00:23:35.44 Matter of fact, I remember one time, 00:23:35.48\00:23:37.21 I was making a porridge, 00:23:37.25\00:23:38.65 y'all know what porridge is, 00:23:38.68\00:23:40.02 the oatmeal and stuff of that nature. 00:23:40.08\00:23:41.42 And I remember my mom always used to 00:23:41.45\00:23:43.15 when she made that porridge. 00:23:43.18\00:23:44.55 She always go over the pot 00:23:44.59\00:23:46.39 and she take the little nutmeg item 00:23:46.42\00:23:48.42 and she lean over and she go chuk, chuk. 00:23:48.46\00:23:50.79 And then she just leave it alone 00:23:50.83\00:23:52.53 and then keep mixing, I'm like man. 00:23:52.56\00:23:54.30 If that nutmeg makes everything taste so good, 00:23:54.30\00:23:57.20 why don't we add more? 00:23:57.23\00:23:58.57 So what did I do? 00:23:58.60\00:24:00.04 One day, I always say my mom is my girl friend, 00:24:00.07\00:24:01.64 so I'm cooking for my girlfriend, my mother. 00:24:01.67\00:24:03.81 And I'm making it and I said I remember 00:24:03.84\00:24:05.87 she added this extra ingredient, 00:24:05.91\00:24:07.28 this little nutmeg, 00:24:07.31\00:24:08.64 and I went and I grabbed a nutmeg 00:24:08.68\00:24:10.15 and I got over the porridge 00:24:10.18\00:24:11.61 and I went chuk, chuk, chuk, chuk, chuk. 00:24:11.65\00:24:13.35 I said, "Let me add some extra, so it can taste even better." 00:24:13.42\00:24:16.82 And as I was doing this 00:24:16.89\00:24:18.22 all I felt was some wind come behind. 00:24:18.25\00:24:20.56 And I look, it was my mom. 00:24:20.59\00:24:22.76 She just gave me a little touch and she said, 00:24:22.79\00:24:24.16 "You're trying to kill us, 00:24:24.23\00:24:25.69 why you're putting so much nutmeg." 00:24:25.73\00:24:27.30 I said, "Mom, I'm trying to take care of you, 00:24:27.30\00:24:29.50 and I'm getting beat up for this. 00:24:29.53\00:24:30.87 She said, "No, no, no 00:24:30.93\00:24:32.27 you're not supposed to put so much." 00:24:32.30\00:24:33.64 So she took a spoon and dipped it up. 00:24:33.67\00:24:35.00 But I never understood why. 00:24:35.04\00:24:36.37 Let me explain a little bit about this nutmeg. 00:24:36.40\00:24:38.41 Nutmeg, this is a good item. 00:24:38.44\00:24:41.31 It has its purpose, okay, 00:24:41.34\00:24:42.88 just like cinnamon has its purpose. 00:24:42.91\00:24:44.71 But nutmeg as they show it contains 00:24:44.75\00:24:47.58 what is known as 00:24:47.62\00:24:48.95 a toxic alkaloid core called myristicin, all right. 00:24:48.98\00:24:51.69 Don't worry about it, just go online look it up, 00:24:51.72\00:24:53.46 or something like that. 00:24:53.52\00:24:54.86 And what it does, 00:24:54.89\00:24:56.22 it has a narcotic effect on the brain. 00:24:56.26\00:24:59.29 What? 00:24:59.33\00:25:00.83 The brain, narcotic, 00:25:00.86\00:25:02.63 wait a second, let me call a time out. 00:25:02.66\00:25:04.00 Did I say helpful effect or what? 00:25:04.07\00:25:06.40 A narcotic effect on the brain. 00:25:06.43\00:25:09.07 And what I have shown is that 00:25:09.10\00:25:10.61 it actually depresses the central nervous system. 00:25:10.64\00:25:13.48 Now that's not good, 00:25:13.51\00:25:14.84 I want my central nervous system, 00:25:14.88\00:25:16.21 my brain and everything to work even better, 00:25:16.24\00:25:17.65 not be depressed. 00:25:17.68\00:25:19.25 And so as a result it is advisable, 00:25:19.28\00:25:22.58 you know the nutmeg 00:25:22.62\00:25:23.99 and I may still hold off on that, 00:25:24.02\00:25:25.42 they have their purpose you know mace 00:25:25.45\00:25:26.79 or whatever of that nature, 00:25:26.86\00:25:28.66 and nutmeg actually works as a good medicine. 00:25:28.69\00:25:31.93 However, I'm not sick so why am I using nutmeg? 00:25:31.96\00:25:34.36 So people say, "What do I use instead of nutmeg?" 00:25:34.40\00:25:36.23 I suppose it's not, 00:25:36.26\00:25:37.60 we're not here trying to substitute items, 00:25:37.63\00:25:38.97 but you can use what is known as cardamon, 00:25:39.00\00:25:41.64 cardamon instead of nutmeg and for cinnamon, 00:25:41.67\00:25:44.57 instead of cinnamon 00:25:44.61\00:25:45.94 what are we gonna use, coriander. 00:25:45.97\00:25:48.51 Fantastic, 00:25:48.54\00:25:49.88 and these are delicate and mild and easy on the system. 00:25:49.91\00:25:53.28 So at the same time 00:25:53.31\00:25:54.65 you're eating good healthy food, 00:25:54.68\00:25:56.79 you're not hurting your body as well. 00:25:56.85\00:25:58.92 So it's up to you, when I head to tell people, 00:25:58.95\00:26:00.99 "hey, you have to do this, to do that." 00:26:01.02\00:26:02.72 Hey, it's your choice, we're just here to educate, 00:26:02.76\00:26:04.59 that's a role, 00:26:04.63\00:26:06.56 and we're trying to get a taste of paradise. 00:26:06.59\00:26:08.13 I remember as well, 00:26:08.16\00:26:09.50 I was going to go down 00:26:09.53\00:26:10.87 to there's this island called Grenada. 00:26:10.90\00:26:14.17 I don't know if you all know what I'm talking about. 00:26:14.24\00:26:16.07 In this island of Grenada, 00:26:16.10\00:26:18.04 I was gonna go there and do a project 00:26:18.07\00:26:19.67 and everybody started praying for me. 00:26:19.71\00:26:21.04 They said, "Nyse, 00:26:21.08\00:26:22.41 we're going to pray for you," Why? 00:26:22.44\00:26:23.78 "Because you're going to Grenada 00:26:23.85\00:26:25.18 and tell them that nutmeg is poisonous." 00:26:25.21\00:26:26.55 I said, I didn't say, 00:26:26.58\00:26:27.92 "Nutmeg is poisonous, it has its purpose." 00:26:27.95\00:26:29.28 And so they started praying, 00:26:29.32\00:26:30.65 and I went down there 00:26:30.69\00:26:32.02 and I shared with the people about nutmeg, 00:26:32.05\00:26:33.39 because Grenada is known as the island of spies 00:26:33.42\00:26:35.06 that's where a lot of nutmeg comes from. 00:26:35.09\00:26:36.42 And they said, "Oh, Nyse, we already know that, 00:26:36.46\00:26:38.99 that's old news. 00:26:39.03\00:26:40.40 We don't eat it, 00:26:40.43\00:26:41.73 we just grow it and ship it 00:26:41.76\00:26:43.10 to everybody else in the world." 00:26:43.13\00:26:44.47 I said, "Oh, my goodness." 00:26:44.50\00:26:45.83 Look at that, that is something else, 00:26:45.87\00:26:47.20 and so your choice, 00:26:47.24\00:26:49.67 cardamon instead of nutmeg, 00:26:49.70\00:26:51.31 coriander instead of cinnamon, 00:26:51.34\00:26:52.67 simple and easy. 00:26:52.71\00:26:54.04 What I'm going to do now, have my pie crust here, 00:26:54.08\00:26:55.64 hold it out to oven, it's ready to roll. 00:26:55.68\00:26:57.55 I'm just going to take this fill in 00:26:57.61\00:26:59.21 and pour it in really nice, 00:26:59.25\00:27:01.85 really tasty and simple for you there. 00:27:01.88\00:27:04.95 You can pour it in a little more. 00:27:04.99\00:27:06.82 As you see I cut my little pie crust there, 00:27:06.89\00:27:08.56 little too short but that's fine, 00:27:08.59\00:27:09.92 because I'm going to make a decoration with it. 00:27:09.96\00:27:11.29 You take that now, 00:27:11.33\00:27:12.66 you stick that in a oven at about 60 minutes, 00:27:12.69\00:27:17.17 60 minutes on 350 00:27:17.20\00:27:19.03 and it should be good and let me share this with you. 00:27:19.07\00:27:21.64 Let me share the finished product. 00:27:21.67\00:27:24.87 This is amazing. 00:27:24.91\00:27:26.98 All right, this is what we call our sweet potato pie, 00:27:27.01\00:27:31.38 sweet potato pie and a lot of people enjoy this. 00:27:31.41\00:27:35.82 I will go ahead 00:27:35.85\00:27:37.29 and encourage you to give it a try yourself take a slice. 00:27:37.32\00:27:40.36 Matter of fact if you enjoy it so much, 00:27:40.39\00:27:42.02 go for another slice. 00:27:42.06\00:27:43.53 It's fine, you already know what's in it, 00:27:43.56\00:27:45.89 it's healthy and but here's the key, 00:27:45.93\00:27:48.30 don't tell anybody, 00:27:48.33\00:27:49.66 don't say I didn't put this or put that. 00:27:49.70\00:27:51.03 Just put it out and say, "Hey enjoy, 00:27:51.07\00:27:53.07 sweet potato pie for everybody." 00:27:53.10\00:27:54.44 And you'll be shocked, 00:27:54.47\00:27:55.80 they won't even notice the difference 00:27:55.84\00:27:57.37 but they will feel the benefit of the taste of paradise. 00:27:57.41\00:28:00.21
