Have you ever wondered 00:00:01.36\00:00:02.70 exactly how to prepare healthy food 00:00:02.73\00:00:04.07 that actually tastes good? 00:00:04.10\00:00:05.77 Well stay tuned while Evita Tezeno 00:00:05.80\00:00:07.77 and yours truly Nyse Collins 00:00:07.80\00:00:09.27 show you just how to do it 00:00:09.30\00:00:10.74 and give you something better, 00:00:10.77\00:00:12.44 a taste of paradise. 00:00:12.47\00:00:14.04 Welcome to A Taste of Paradise. 00:00:30.79\00:00:32.86 My name is Evita Tezeno. 00:00:32.89\00:00:35.93 You know, we all love cheese, 00:00:35.96\00:00:39.20 cheese is the American food. 00:00:39.23\00:00:42.64 But cheese really don't like us. 00:00:42.67\00:00:45.74 Cheese is fermented, 00:00:45.77\00:00:48.64 it's really rotten, it's rotten food, 00:00:48.68\00:00:51.75 and it's not really good for us. 00:00:51.78\00:00:54.25 But I have a cheese for you that is plant based, 00:00:54.28\00:00:58.72 that does not come from any animal products, 00:00:58.75\00:01:01.39 and it is delicious. 00:01:01.42\00:01:04.66 So the recipe, the ingredients are: 00:01:04.69\00:01:08.10 Now today I'm using a Vitamix, 00:01:32.45\00:01:36.32 and all of these nuts have been soaked overnight, 00:01:36.36\00:01:41.70 but you can soak them for four hours, 00:01:41.73\00:01:43.16 like the recipe said. 00:01:43.20\00:01:45.37 These are macadamia nuts, 00:01:45.40\00:01:48.30 and these are almonds that have been, 00:01:48.34\00:01:51.01 the skin has been taken off of it. 00:01:51.04\00:01:52.94 One cup of water, 00:01:58.18\00:01:59.75 and I add the tahini 00:02:03.55\00:02:06.32 which is a great source of calcium, 00:02:06.35\00:02:12.93 and we're blending. 00:02:12.96\00:02:14.30 And we want to make sure that is smooth, 00:02:46.03\00:02:49.56 and here's the fun part now. 00:02:49.60\00:02:51.07 So now we take the mixture of the almonds 00:02:54.40\00:02:58.07 and the macadamia nuts and we place it in a strainer 00:02:58.11\00:03:02.04 that has cheese cloth 00:03:02.08\00:03:03.98 and you want the bowl underneath it 00:03:04.01\00:03:05.78 to get the drippings. 00:03:05.81\00:03:07.22 This is so much fun to make. 00:03:12.35\00:03:14.66 I make this all the time 00:03:14.69\00:03:17.13 and I keep it in my refrigerator at all times. 00:03:17.16\00:03:22.23 'Cause before I became a total vegetarian, 00:03:22.26\00:03:26.13 I loved cheese. 00:03:26.17\00:03:28.60 But I suffered from migraines a whole lot 00:03:28.64\00:03:31.74 and when I started studying and reading, 00:03:31.77\00:03:34.24 I learnt that cheese was one of the main culprits. 00:03:34.28\00:03:38.71 So I took it out of my diet 00:03:38.75\00:03:41.75 and I still needed that cheesy craving, 00:03:41.78\00:03:44.35 I still had a cheesy craving. 00:03:44.39\00:03:46.52 So when I found this recipe, oh I was so, so excited. 00:03:46.55\00:03:52.16 So now we take this mixture in the cheese cloth 00:03:56.56\00:04:00.70 and we twirl it around like this. 00:04:04.87\00:04:08.64 And I came up with this little contraption, 00:04:08.68\00:04:10.78 this is a bowl, 00:04:10.81\00:04:13.72 put this and this is a jar that I have pennies in. 00:04:13.75\00:04:18.39 it's very heavy, 00:04:18.42\00:04:19.75 I think it weighs about maybe four pounds, 00:04:19.79\00:04:22.42 maybe not that much, but maybe. 00:04:22.46\00:04:24.79 And place this and you would notice that 00:04:24.83\00:04:29.20 the liquid is getting ready to, 00:04:29.23\00:04:34.70 is coming out of the bottom. 00:04:34.74\00:04:36.87 And you want to sit this in your refrigerator overnight. 00:04:36.91\00:04:39.77 So this is the product that has been sitting 00:04:47.12\00:04:52.52 in the refrigerator overnight. 00:04:52.55\00:04:56.86 Look it's cheese, it's like soft cream cheese. 00:04:56.89\00:05:01.76 Isn't that amazing? 00:05:01.80\00:05:05.67 Now what I want to do now is combine yeast flakes, 00:05:05.70\00:05:12.41 lemon juice, 00:05:12.44\00:05:15.28 salt, 00:05:15.31\00:05:17.81 and maple syrup 00:05:17.85\00:05:20.98 'cause you know you need that salt and that sweet taste. 00:05:21.02\00:05:25.65 And you combine this 00:05:25.69\00:05:27.76 and you want to make sure 00:05:35.00\00:05:36.33 that you stir it very thoroughly, 00:05:36.36\00:05:40.17 you're mixing all the ingredients. 00:05:40.20\00:05:42.14 Now after the ingredients are all mixed, 00:05:48.71\00:05:51.35 you want to take, 00:05:54.48\00:05:56.02 this is a spring form pan 00:05:56.05\00:05:59.95 with some more cheese cloth. 00:06:04.06\00:06:05.56 And you want to just place it in here. 00:06:10.47\00:06:13.54 And continue until you have 00:06:26.41\00:06:30.22 all the pA¢tA(C) in this container. 00:06:30.25\00:06:35.92 And then you want to cover it 00:06:39.03\00:06:40.90 and set a weight on top of it, 00:06:45.33\00:06:47.17 in your refrigerator overnight. 00:06:47.20\00:06:49.80 And 00:06:53.38\00:06:54.71 here is the finished product. 00:06:57.98\00:07:01.02 Can you believe this? 00:07:04.02\00:07:05.92 Now this cuts just like cheese, 00:07:05.95\00:07:09.49 like a soft brie. 00:07:09.52\00:07:11.33 Spread it on a cracker. 00:07:15.63\00:07:18.70 I can't wait, I can't wait. 00:07:18.73\00:07:20.77 Mmm, 00:07:24.41\00:07:27.18 this is so good. 00:07:27.21\00:07:29.61 Now if you want extra firmness, 00:07:29.64\00:07:33.58 you can dehydrate this overnight 00:07:33.62\00:07:37.69 and it gets more firm, 00:07:37.72\00:07:41.12 or you can serve it like it is. 00:07:41.16\00:07:43.19 This could be spread on crackers, on bread, 00:07:43.22\00:07:48.00 and you can also spread it on, 00:07:48.03\00:07:50.83 as a bottom for pizza. 00:07:50.87\00:07:54.60 This is a great recipe. 00:07:54.64\00:07:59.21 Remember, 00:07:59.24\00:08:01.71 fresh eating is fresh living, 00:08:01.74\00:08:06.95 until next time. 00:08:06.98\00:08:08.32 Sweet too for your sweet eyes. 00:08:15.39\00:08:17.39 Grandma says 00:08:17.43\00:08:18.76 she's going to make some sweet potato pie. 00:08:18.79\00:08:20.40 I don't know about you all but I used to love 00:08:20.43\00:08:22.46 when grandma used to make that sweet potato pie, 00:08:22.50\00:08:24.93 because it's so delicious, so tasty. 00:08:24.97\00:08:27.30 And man for some reason you just got a boost of energy 00:08:27.34\00:08:30.31 and so I'll always look forward to that day. 00:08:30.34\00:08:32.64 But as I started to grow old, you know, 00:08:32.67\00:08:34.84 this happened long time ago when I used to be young, 00:08:34.88\00:08:36.68 before you all were around. 00:08:36.71\00:08:38.11 As we look at what it was 00:08:38.15\00:08:40.55 actually put into that sweet potato, 00:08:40.58\00:08:42.35 she did pretty good, 00:08:42.38\00:08:43.72 she had a couple of extra ingredients, 00:08:43.75\00:08:45.09 you know, that probably was a little questionable. 00:08:45.12\00:08:46.92 But hey, it was delicious. 00:08:46.96\00:08:48.89 So today we're going to make a sweet potato pie 00:08:48.92\00:08:51.13 that's actually helpful, tasty, 00:08:51.16\00:08:53.60 and man, if you want seconds, go right ahead, 00:08:53.63\00:08:56.03 don't worry about it, 00:08:56.06\00:08:57.40 you won't have to hit a extra lap on the track 00:08:57.43\00:08:59.93 or anything of that nature, but why sweet potatoes, 00:08:59.97\00:09:03.00 why we're choosing sweet potatoes. 00:09:03.04\00:09:04.51 We could have done pumpkin, we could have done, 00:09:04.54\00:09:07.44 I don't know something else rhubarb 00:09:07.48\00:09:09.28 or who knows or carrots or something. 00:09:09.31\00:09:12.05 But sweet potato is an amazing starchy veg, 00:09:12.08\00:09:16.08 as if you wanna call it. 00:09:16.12\00:09:17.49 It is very good for the body, 00:09:17.52\00:09:20.19 actually it's so helpful that a person 00:09:20.22\00:09:23.16 who's dealing with cholesterol is good for that. 00:09:23.19\00:09:25.29 It's also helpful for a person dealing with hypertension, 00:09:25.33\00:09:28.10 because of the items that it contains, 00:09:28.13\00:09:30.17 it helps to protect the inner lining of your arteries, 00:09:30.20\00:09:34.44 you know, that inner lining 00:09:34.47\00:09:35.80 where cholesterol loves to hang out. 00:09:35.84\00:09:37.21 And build up and block stuff and heart attacks 00:09:37.24\00:09:39.71 and stuff of that nature. 00:09:39.74\00:09:41.08 And it's also helpful 00:09:41.11\00:09:42.44 as it protects the inner lining, 00:09:42.48\00:09:43.81 what happens to the blood pressure. 00:09:43.85\00:09:45.18 It just continues to do what it do best, 00:09:45.21\00:09:46.55 instead of going high or too low. 00:09:46.58\00:09:48.22 So enjoy sweet potatoes. 00:09:48.25\00:09:49.58 Why else are sweet potatoes good? 00:09:49.62\00:09:51.22 It has certain irons, which is helpful, 00:09:51.25\00:09:53.22 also that it gives you a like, not false sense of fullness, 00:09:53.25\00:09:57.73 but actually it causes you to feel really full, 00:09:57.76\00:10:01.10 and for several hours at a time. 00:10:01.13\00:10:03.26 So when in doubt, 00:10:03.30\00:10:04.63 if you leaving your house you're like, 00:10:04.67\00:10:06.00 "Man, I need to eat something," 00:10:06.03\00:10:07.37 that is good, that will hold me over. 00:10:24.45\00:10:27.39 as you would get from some of the other items 00:10:27.42\00:10:29.32 that we can buy from you know they say, 00:10:29.36\00:10:31.29 fast food, you eat fast food you live a crust, 00:10:44.21\00:10:45.54 and then we're gonna go ahead and fill it up with the pie. 00:10:45.57\00:10:47.58 Here's the ingredients to this delicious crust. 00:10:47.61\00:10:50.55 All you need is: 00:10:50.58\00:10:51.91 Now who can't do that, 00:11:07.96\00:11:09.56 that's like the easiest pie crust around the town. 00:11:09.60\00:11:12.23 Everybody can do it. 00:11:12.27\00:11:13.60 No need to go and buy it anymore, 00:11:13.64\00:11:15.50 because when we start looking at the ingredients 00:11:15.54\00:11:17.14 on some of those pie crusts we buy, 00:11:17.17\00:11:18.51 it is danger, danger, stay away, beware, 00:11:18.54\00:11:21.98 it tastes good. 00:11:22.01\00:11:23.35 But, you know, 00:11:23.38\00:11:24.71 what the bad part of it is 00:11:24.75\00:11:27.08 or what are the results from eating this. 00:11:27.12\00:11:28.88 So we're going to show you how to dish this up. 00:11:28.92\00:11:30.95 So right here, in my bowl 00:11:30.99\00:11:32.72 all I have is the whole wheat flour there. 00:11:32.75\00:11:34.99 We're going to go ahead 00:11:35.02\00:11:36.49 and we're going to add some of that cane sugar. 00:11:36.52\00:11:38.96 Now real quick, if you don't have cane sugar, 00:11:38.99\00:11:41.93 if you notice I'm using little more cane sugar lately with 00:11:41.96\00:11:43.70 and I'm gonna go ahead 00:11:43.73\00:11:45.07 and just put in a salt and I mix that, 00:11:45.10\00:11:46.43 I'll tell you about the cane sugar. 00:11:46.47\00:11:47.84 We will us a little more cane sugar why, 00:11:47.87\00:11:50.14 because it's readily available now, 00:11:50.17\00:11:52.57 everybody has access to it. 00:11:52.61\00:11:54.41 But if you notice in the recipe, 00:11:54.44\00:11:56.68 we shared with you that you can easily use molasses. 00:11:56.71\00:11:59.78 Molasses is fantastic, 00:11:59.81\00:12:01.55 a matter of fact molasses is loaded 00:12:01.58\00:12:04.32 with a lot of good iron 00:12:04.35\00:12:05.75 as magnesium and potassium 00:12:05.79\00:12:08.32 and this thing is amazing. 00:12:08.36\00:12:10.09 Even better than molasses is blackstrap molasses, 00:12:10.13\00:12:13.66 which have triple the amount of regular molasses of calcium. 00:12:13.70\00:12:17.17 You looking to have strong healthy bones, 00:12:17.20\00:12:19.03 right here, molasses, 00:12:19.07\00:12:20.40 I'm going ahead and advertising for that. 00:12:20.44\00:12:22.37 But hey, enjoy the molasses, 00:12:22.40\00:12:24.11 we used to give this molasses to the cows, 00:12:24.14\00:12:26.64 and to the chickens and stuff 00:12:26.68\00:12:28.01 and they're walking along a big strong healthy bones, 00:12:28.04\00:12:30.01 while our bones are crumbling to pieces. 00:12:30.05\00:12:32.35 Take it back from the cow and eat it yourself. 00:12:32.38\00:12:35.08 And a matter of fact a lot of people don't like it, 00:12:35.12\00:12:37.05 because it kind of tastes strong a bit. 00:12:37.09\00:12:39.35 But you can do it now in the crust 00:12:39.39\00:12:41.39 so you can enjoy it, 00:12:41.42\00:12:42.76 while you're enjoying your sweet potato pie. 00:12:42.79\00:12:44.13 Then what we're going to do, as you notice, 00:12:44.16\00:12:46.33 I have to go ahead and put down, 00:12:46.36\00:12:47.76 now we're going to get our hands into the mix here. 00:12:47.80\00:12:49.70 We're going to go ahead, 00:12:49.73\00:12:51.07 and we're going to take that butter 00:12:51.10\00:12:52.43 or the soy butter. 00:12:52.47\00:12:53.80 Let me just grab a little spoon here, 00:12:53.84\00:12:55.60 and we gotta put that in 00:12:55.64\00:12:56.97 and we're going to mix this up properly 00:12:57.01\00:12:58.74 and so almost like a crumble or something of that nature. 00:12:58.77\00:13:01.84 So get as much as you can there. 00:13:01.88\00:13:04.48 If you have the better butter 00:13:04.51\00:13:05.95 hey, try better butter as well, 00:13:05.98\00:13:07.58 if you don't have the soy butter. 00:13:07.62\00:13:09.98 Go ahead and mix that up nicely. 00:13:10.02\00:13:12.82 I used to love doing this, and a matter of fact, 00:13:12.85\00:13:15.02 I encourage you all to get your children involved. 00:13:15.06\00:13:18.73 A lot of time the kids are just sitting 00:13:18.76\00:13:20.40 and they're playing all these video games 00:13:20.43\00:13:22.26 and they're talking about, "Mom, when is the food ready?" 00:13:22.30\00:13:23.67 "What? 00:13:23.70\00:13:25.03 You want some food, 00:13:25.07\00:13:26.40 come and get it yourself, make it yourself." 00:13:26.43\00:13:27.77 Go ahead and let them come. 00:13:27.80\00:13:29.14 I remember the good old days, we used to just make a mess, 00:13:29.17\00:13:31.61 flour all over the place. 00:13:31.64\00:13:33.51 We got a couple slaps on the head, now, 00:13:33.54\00:13:35.78 I shouldn't say that too loud, 00:13:35.81\00:13:37.51 I don't want Child Services to go after my mom. 00:13:37.55\00:13:39.28 But hey, we had the best time, it was the best memories 00:13:39.31\00:13:42.45 and as a result now today, 00:13:42.48\00:13:43.85 I can share some of these recipes with you. 00:13:43.89\00:13:45.89 So please get the children involved. 00:13:45.92\00:13:48.32 Can you imagine they're making their own cakes 00:13:48.36\00:13:50.59 and stuff of that nature? 00:13:50.63\00:13:52.13 Please, don't waste and turn off the TV 00:13:52.16\00:13:54.83 come into the VIP room 00:13:54.86\00:13:56.56 and make some good sweet potato pies 00:13:56.60\00:13:59.33 as they're always asking for it. 00:13:59.37\00:14:00.74 Then what you do, after you mix that up, 00:14:00.77\00:14:03.34 you take that nice ice-cold water, 00:14:03.37\00:14:05.21 I hope it's still cold. 00:14:05.24\00:14:06.57 And you pour that over there, and you're gonna, 00:14:06.61\00:14:09.64 it's going to give you some more consistency there. 00:14:09.68\00:14:13.08 Okay, then we're gonna make into a nice little ball 00:14:13.11\00:14:16.89 in a second here. 00:14:16.92\00:14:18.55 As you notice this is starting to come together nicely, 00:14:18.59\00:14:20.99 this is your crust. 00:14:21.02\00:14:22.76 Now, I know we could have went and we could've bought it, 00:14:22.79\00:14:25.06 but now, you can do it almost for free 00:14:25.09\00:14:27.96 and you don't have to worry about what's in it. 00:14:28.00\00:14:29.90 And so nicely as you see here, you have your, 00:14:29.93\00:14:34.00 your dough or your crust, 00:14:34.04\00:14:36.37 and then what we're gonna to do, 00:14:36.40\00:14:37.74 we're going to move this over, we're gonna take some flour, 00:14:37.77\00:14:39.97 we're gonna lay it out there. 00:14:40.01\00:14:41.51 I know we're in the kitchen, don't worry if you make a mess, 00:14:41.54\00:14:44.41 it's okay, it's okay. 00:14:44.45\00:14:46.68 You spent all the money on this kitchen, so what, 00:14:46.72\00:14:48.82 keep it perfectly clean, use it one person said. 00:14:48.85\00:14:53.32 And so you, you put that there 00:14:53.36\00:14:56.42 and we have our roller pin in a second 00:14:56.46\00:14:58.13 because we're gonna roll this out. 00:14:58.16\00:14:59.49 And oh, man, I'm thinking, 00:14:59.53\00:15:03.10 I'm gonna want to make some bread after this. 00:15:03.13\00:15:04.83 So as you see them, you put some more flour there, 00:15:04.87\00:15:08.94 and I went ahead and I just put all the water, 00:15:08.97\00:15:11.17 if you put less even better, but go ahead. 00:15:11.21\00:15:15.88 And mix that there and hey, 00:15:15.91\00:15:18.38 now you can practice a little massage 00:15:18.41\00:15:20.35 at the same time, 00:15:20.38\00:15:22.18 I'm sure your spouse or whoever would enjoy that. 00:15:22.22\00:15:26.86 You put just a little bit more, and then we just roll it, 00:15:26.89\00:15:31.36 as you can see it's pretty much there already. 00:15:31.39\00:15:35.13 Just roll it out nicely, not too much, 00:15:35.16\00:15:38.43 we're not making roti or anything, or burritos, 00:15:38.47\00:15:41.67 or tortillas, so just take it easy there. 00:15:41.70\00:15:47.48 Actually this is really, really, really good. 00:15:47.51\00:15:52.88 Now the messy part is gonna come up now here in a second. 00:15:52.91\00:15:55.28 I just want to make enough, 00:15:55.32\00:15:56.65 so it fits into my into my bacon dish. 00:15:56.69\00:16:01.56 All right, so I'm gonna to put that there. 00:16:01.59\00:16:04.96 This is the part where it breaks up on you, 00:16:04.99\00:16:09.46 but you've got to do it wise. 00:16:09.50\00:16:10.83 And so now, 00:16:10.87\00:16:12.20 I take my regular nice little baking dish as you see here. 00:16:12.23\00:16:15.84 You put it right there on top. 00:16:15.87\00:16:18.84 It is the part 00:16:18.87\00:16:21.84 and then, you just flip it. 00:16:21.88\00:16:25.25 One, two, three. 00:16:25.28\00:16:29.18 Yippy! 00:16:29.22\00:16:30.69 It went through, 00:16:30.72\00:16:32.05 and then you just pull it right back 00:16:32.09\00:16:33.42 over saw it folds in nicely. 00:16:33.46\00:16:35.46 Sometimes it will fold over, but you should be fine here. 00:16:35.49\00:16:38.49 And then you have your crust you, 00:16:38.53\00:16:40.16 you take off all of these parts. 00:16:40.20\00:16:42.63 And don't waste anything you can take that 00:16:42.66\00:16:45.40 and make a cool design. 00:16:45.43\00:16:47.20 I'm not gonna do that here today, 00:16:47.24\00:16:49.17 but you have your crust here, very nice and easy to make. 00:16:49.20\00:16:52.51 Maybe you can use this for decorations on top. 00:16:52.54\00:16:55.64 So don't throw that away, save that for later. 00:16:55.68\00:16:58.01 And voila, we have our pie crust, 00:16:58.05\00:17:00.72 you're gonna take this now, 00:17:00.75\00:17:02.08 you gonna put it in oven for about 00:17:02.12\00:17:03.59 5, 10, 20, 15 minutes on medium heat, 00:17:03.62\00:17:06.35 not too much, 00:17:06.39\00:17:07.72 just to get a little toasty there. 00:17:07.76\00:17:09.09 But you don't want to cook it too much, 00:17:09.12\00:17:10.49 because we still have to put the pumpkin, 00:17:10.53\00:17:13.06 not the pumpkin, look at that. 00:17:13.09\00:17:14.43 I'm still talking about pumpkin, 00:17:14.46\00:17:15.83 sweet potato pie filling, all right. 00:17:15.86\00:17:17.80 So we're going to move on to that next one now. 00:17:17.83\00:17:20.84 The recipe for the Sweet Potato Pie filler 00:17:20.87\00:17:23.61 really, simple, and easy, all you need is what: 00:17:23.64\00:17:25.37 Now I know you all are thinking, 00:17:47.00\00:17:48.33 wait a second. 00:17:48.36\00:17:49.70 That's not how grandma made it 00:17:49.73\00:17:51.07 for our sweet eyes and our sweet soup 00:17:51.10\00:17:53.20 and I know she put a little extra ingredients, 00:17:53.23\00:17:55.80 more sugar, more this, more that, 00:17:55.84\00:17:57.84 but we don't have to do that no more. 00:17:57.87\00:17:59.27 And we can still get some of the same effect 00:17:59.31\00:18:02.31 and a blessing as a result of making this beautiful, 00:18:02.34\00:18:05.81 beautiful tasty and delicious sweet potato pie. 00:18:05.85\00:18:09.02 But what is the key ingredient again, 00:18:09.05\00:18:10.65 is the sweet potato. 00:18:10.69\00:18:12.02 I went ahead and cut one and half. 00:18:12.05\00:18:13.39 This thing is amazing. 00:18:13.42\00:18:14.86 This is like a little extra gift from God, 00:18:14.89\00:18:16.62 He was just like, 00:18:16.66\00:18:17.99 you know, y'all, y'all so nice, 00:18:18.03\00:18:19.36 I'm going to give you something that you can enjoy. 00:18:19.39\00:18:21.26 So one person said God has a sweet tooth too 00:18:21.30\00:18:23.06 and that's why He made sweet potato pie. 00:18:23.10\00:18:25.70 I don't know if He made the sweet potato pie, 00:18:25.73\00:18:27.07 but I know He made the sweet potato. 00:18:27.10\00:18:28.44 Amen. 00:18:28.47\00:18:29.80 And so we have a sweet potato. 00:18:29.84\00:18:31.17 All you need to do is cut up. 00:18:31.21\00:18:32.54 You're going to need about a couple of cups of that. 00:18:32.57\00:18:34.81 So you just cut them up really nice, 00:18:34.84\00:18:38.38 there you go and get them rolling. 00:18:38.41\00:18:42.15 Let me tell you also why these sweet potato is an amazing item 00:18:42.18\00:18:47.56 that we can enjoy is because watch this. 00:18:47.59\00:18:51.49 Anybody ever felt hungry before, 00:18:51.53\00:18:54.16 the reason why you feel hungry, 00:18:54.20\00:18:55.56 and I'm gonna take these 00:18:55.60\00:18:56.93 and I'm going to put them in the pot, 00:18:56.97\00:18:58.30 all right. 00:18:58.33\00:18:59.67 The reason why you feel hungry is because 00:18:59.70\00:19:01.04 sometimes you need a little extra fats 00:19:01.07\00:19:03.37 in your foods, right. 00:19:03.41\00:19:04.74 And your body's craving for this. 00:19:04.77\00:19:06.47 And so what happens is normally, 00:19:06.51\00:19:08.98 your body craves for the fattiest food, 00:19:09.01\00:19:10.85 that's why when you're driving on a road 00:19:10.88\00:19:12.38 and you look up and you see all these billboards. 00:19:12.41\00:19:14.32 They don't just show you like, 00:19:14.35\00:19:15.68 "Oh, we're offering you today a nice salad 00:19:15.72\00:19:18.09 or something of that nature," 00:19:18.12\00:19:19.45 because your body is not looking for that, 00:19:19.49\00:19:20.86 your body looking for what? 00:19:20.89\00:19:22.22 For fatty foods 00:19:22.26\00:19:24.03 to get the craving out of the way, right. 00:19:24.06\00:19:28.96 So when you drive, 00:19:29.00\00:19:30.33 what do you see on a billboards? 00:19:30.37\00:19:31.70 Fries, and a burger and this and that. 00:19:31.73\00:19:34.27 And you'll drive and you'd all of sudden notice 00:19:34.30\00:19:37.04 your arms are starting to turn 00:19:37.07\00:19:38.71 and you're like, "Lord, what's going on?" 00:19:38.74\00:19:40.44 Is your body turning you into that drive through, 00:19:40.48\00:19:42.74 because they wants the fat, all right. 00:19:42.78\00:19:45.41 Now let's look at what sweet potatoes do. 00:19:45.45\00:19:47.95 Do you know sweet potatoes, when you eat it, 00:19:47.98\00:19:50.12 it goes ahead and say, how do I say, 00:19:50.15\00:19:53.59 it meets the same craving that you have, 00:19:53.62\00:19:56.93 but equal, almost equal to our fat. 00:19:56.96\00:19:59.23 Let me explain a little bit more. 00:19:59.26\00:20:00.60 It satisfies you, 00:20:00.63\00:20:02.63 just like fats will satisfy you. 00:20:02.66\00:20:05.20 And that's why a lot of people enjoy this 00:20:05.23\00:20:07.70 and use this to help balance the blessing. 00:20:07.74\00:20:09.87 And I know, we all want to balance that blessing 00:20:09.90\00:20:12.01 and so that's why we keep that sweet potato around 00:20:12.04\00:20:13.91 make sure this is one of the staple foods 00:20:13.94\00:20:15.84 in your VIP room, 00:20:15.88\00:20:17.98 because this is fantastic. 00:20:18.01\00:20:19.35 However let's call a timeout, or we say, 00:20:19.38\00:20:21.78 we should be eating sweet potato everyday 00:20:21.82\00:20:23.15 for the rest of our life. 00:20:23.18\00:20:24.52 No, because, your body still needs the fat, okay. 00:20:24.55\00:20:27.02 So what do you do? 00:20:27.06\00:20:28.39 You have a sweet potato, you make a nice little, 00:20:28.42\00:20:30.43 you do a nut cheese, 00:20:30.46\00:20:33.56 and you already saw what Evita did there. 00:20:33.60\00:20:35.53 So you can have the sweet potato, 00:20:35.56\00:20:37.27 put that, that nice cheese over it, 00:20:37.30\00:20:39.67 because those nuts contain what, 00:20:39.70\00:20:41.54 fats which is necessary. 00:20:41.57\00:20:43.27 So you are getting the one, two double whammy to hunger, 00:20:43.30\00:20:47.01 hunger should not exist anymore. 00:20:47.04\00:20:49.14 And we're going to balance our blessings as a result. 00:20:49.18\00:20:51.51 So you put those items in the pot. 00:20:51.55\00:20:53.35 You go ahead and you boil it till it's nice and soft, 00:20:53.38\00:20:57.15 if you want to remove the skin. 00:20:57.19\00:20:58.55 Hey, cool, me, 00:20:58.59\00:21:00.02 I just keep the skin 00:21:00.06\00:21:01.76 and you remember the little principle, 00:21:01.79\00:21:03.12 that we share or you get a chance to learn, 00:21:03.16\00:21:05.29 if it goes in rough, 00:21:05.33\00:21:06.70 that usually is doing a good job 00:21:06.73\00:21:08.06 because, you know, 00:21:08.10\00:21:09.43 what happens it comes out nice and smooth. 00:21:09.46\00:21:11.97 As you see there, as the fury, but oh, 00:21:12.00\00:21:14.57 no I'm not saying that this is what comes out, 00:21:14.60\00:21:15.94 all right. 00:21:15.97\00:21:17.31 So go ahead and you make that then when it's finished. 00:21:17.34\00:21:20.88 Just for the sake of time, 00:21:20.91\00:21:22.24 we don't have time to boil it and cooking all that stuff. 00:21:22.28\00:21:24.31 We went ahead and I made some here for you. 00:21:24.35\00:21:26.65 This is the a.k.a. 00:21:26.68\00:21:28.65 sweet potato puree that I was talking about. 00:21:28.68\00:21:30.95 So you just make sure 00:21:30.99\00:21:32.32 that is mashed together properly, 00:21:32.35\00:21:33.92 then you go ahead now, 00:21:33.96\00:21:35.92 and you add the extra ingredients that we mentioned. 00:21:35.96\00:21:39.03 We have the soy milk, 00:21:39.06\00:21:41.16 let's say you don't have soy milk, 00:21:41.20\00:21:43.23 but I have some nuts in the house, 00:21:43.26\00:21:45.07 put in almond milk, 00:21:45.10\00:21:46.43 put in cashew milk, or walnut milk, 00:21:46.47\00:21:48.60 real simple one cup of nuts to one cup of what, 00:21:48.64\00:21:51.17 you blend till it's nice and creamy, 00:21:51.21\00:21:52.57 then you add three more cups of water, 00:21:52.61\00:21:53.94 voila, milk done. 00:21:53.98\00:21:55.58 All right, then we have the maple syrup. 00:21:55.61\00:21:59.41 As we have there or honey 00:21:59.45\00:22:02.92 or you decide what you have, 00:22:02.95\00:22:06.25 one of the biggest down force 00:22:06.29\00:22:09.32 of people trying to live a healthy lifestyle, 00:22:09.36\00:22:11.33 is they don't have all of the ingredients 00:22:11.36\00:22:14.13 that should never be our situation here. 00:22:14.16\00:22:16.83 So as you see you got to work it through, 00:22:16.87\00:22:19.17 work it through, be faithful, 00:22:19.20\00:22:21.30 it's gonna come together here. 00:22:21.34\00:22:23.34 So I just mix that up nicely. 00:22:23.37\00:22:25.24 Another way that you can do in 00:22:25.27\00:22:27.18 is you can put it in the blender, 00:22:27.21\00:22:29.14 okay, but I don't have time for no blender. 00:22:29.18\00:22:32.38 Why use a blender when I can do it myself. 00:22:32.41\00:22:34.32 So I'm going to mix that in there nicely, 00:22:34.35\00:22:36.15 but I'm also going to add 00:22:36.18\00:22:37.52 the rest of the remaining ingredients here. 00:22:37.55\00:22:40.59 We have the sea salt and also our nice flavor, 00:22:40.62\00:22:47.10 and I have to tell you about this here, 00:22:47.13\00:22:49.73 lot of people enjoy that they say, 00:22:49.76\00:22:52.00 "Well, my grandma went ahead 00:22:52.03\00:22:53.80 and she added cinnamon 00:22:53.84\00:22:56.37 and she added nutmeg and she added this and that." 00:22:56.40\00:22:59.67 Yes, she probably added all those items, 00:22:59.71\00:23:01.48 but then you wondering why 00:23:01.51\00:23:03.01 the blood pressure is starting to creep up on you, 00:23:03.04\00:23:04.91 you wondering why, 00:23:04.95\00:23:06.28 you know the stomach is just bubbling, 00:23:06.31\00:23:07.78 you know what I'm talking about 00:23:07.82\00:23:09.15 because the cinnamon 00:23:09.18\00:23:10.52 and nutmeg are known as per se spices, right. 00:23:10.55\00:23:12.45 When I stand up, they're by per se. 00:23:12.49\00:23:14.66 I know many people share that cinnamon is good for diabetes 00:23:14.69\00:23:18.76 and there may be studies that show that, 00:23:18.79\00:23:20.50 but at the same time because it's the spice, 00:23:20.53\00:23:22.46 it's going to slowly, 00:23:22.50\00:23:23.83 but surely start to irritate the lining of the stomach. 00:23:23.87\00:23:26.03 So what do we use instead of cinnamon? 00:23:26.07\00:23:27.80 We use coriander, okay. 00:23:27.84\00:23:31.11 Well, what about nutmeg 00:23:31.14\00:23:33.38 they say, you know, I love nutmeg. 00:23:33.41\00:23:35.51 Matter of fact, I remember one time, 00:23:35.54\00:23:37.25 I was making a porridge, 00:23:37.28\00:23:38.71 y'all know what porridge is, 00:23:38.75\00:23:40.08 the oatmeal and stuff of that nature. 00:23:40.12\00:23:41.45 And I remember my mom always used to 00:23:41.48\00:23:43.22 when she made that porridge. 00:23:43.25\00:23:44.62 She always go over the pot 00:23:44.65\00:23:46.45 and she take the little nutmeg item 00:23:46.49\00:23:48.49 and she lean over and she go chuk, chuk. 00:23:48.52\00:23:50.83 And then she just leave it alone 00:23:50.86\00:23:52.59 and then keep mixing, I'm like man. 00:23:52.63\00:23:54.36 If that nutmeg makes everything taste so good, 00:23:54.40\00:23:57.30 why don't we add more? 00:23:57.33\00:23:58.67 So what did I do? 00:23:58.70\00:24:00.04 One day, I always say my mom is my girl friend, 00:24:00.07\00:24:01.67 so I'm cooking for my girlfriend, my mother. 00:24:01.70\00:24:03.84 And I'm making it and I said I remember 00:24:03.87\00:24:05.91 she added this extra ingredient, 00:24:05.94\00:24:07.31 this little nutmeg, 00:24:07.34\00:24:08.68 and I went and I grabbed a nutmeg 00:24:08.71\00:24:10.18 and I got over the porridge 00:24:10.21\00:24:11.65 and I went chuk, chuk, chuk, chuk, chuk. 00:24:11.68\00:24:13.38 I said, "Let me add some extra, so it can taste even better." 00:24:13.42\00:24:16.85 And as I was doing this 00:24:16.89\00:24:18.22 all I felt was some wind come behind. 00:24:18.25\00:24:20.56 And I look, it was my mom. 00:24:20.59\00:24:22.79 She just gave me a little touch and she said, 00:24:22.82\00:24:24.19 "You're trying to kill us, 00:24:24.23\00:24:25.73 why you're putting so much nutmeg." 00:24:25.76\00:24:27.33 I said, "Mom, I'm trying to take care of you, 00:24:27.36\00:24:29.56 and I'm getting beat up for this. 00:24:29.60\00:24:30.93 She said, "No, no, no 00:24:30.97\00:24:32.30 you're not supposed to put so much." 00:24:32.33\00:24:33.67 So she took a spoon and dipped it up. 00:24:33.70\00:24:35.04 But I never understood why. 00:24:35.07\00:24:36.40 Let me explain a little bit about this nutmeg. 00:24:36.44\00:24:38.47 Nutmeg, this is a good item. 00:24:38.51\00:24:41.38 It has its purpose, okay, 00:24:41.41\00:24:42.94 just like cinnamon has its purpose. 00:24:42.98\00:24:44.78 But nutmeg as they show it contains 00:24:44.81\00:24:47.65 what is known as 00:24:47.68\00:24:49.02 a toxic alkaloid core called myristicin, all right. 00:24:49.05\00:24:51.75 Don't worry about it, just go online look it up, 00:24:51.79\00:24:53.52 or something like that. 00:24:53.56\00:24:54.89 And what it does, 00:24:54.92\00:24:56.26 it has a narcotic effect on the brain. 00:24:56.29\00:24:59.36 What? 00:24:59.39\00:25:00.80 The brain, narcotic, 00:25:00.83\00:25:02.66 wait a second, let me call a time out. 00:25:02.70\00:25:04.03 Did I say helpful effect or what? 00:25:04.07\00:25:06.43 A narcotic effect on the brain. 00:25:06.47\00:25:09.10 And what I have shown is that 00:25:09.14\00:25:10.64 it actually depresses the central nervous system. 00:25:10.67\00:25:13.48 Now that's not good, 00:25:13.51\00:25:14.84 I want my central nervous system, 00:25:14.88\00:25:16.21 my brain and everything to work even better, 00:25:16.24\00:25:17.68 not be depressed. 00:25:17.71\00:25:19.28 And so as a result it is advisable, 00:25:19.31\00:25:22.62 you know the nutmeg 00:25:22.65\00:25:23.99 and I may still hold off on that, 00:25:24.02\00:25:25.45 they have their purpose you know mace 00:25:25.49\00:25:26.82 or whatever of that nature, 00:25:26.86\00:25:28.69 and nutmeg actually works as a good medicine. 00:25:28.72\00:25:31.96 However, I'm not sick so why am I using nutmeg? 00:25:31.99\00:25:34.43 So people say, "What do I use instead of nutmeg?" 00:25:34.46\00:25:36.30 I suppose it's not, 00:25:36.33\00:25:37.67 we're not here trying to substitute items, 00:25:37.70\00:25:39.03 but you can use what is known as cardamon, 00:25:39.07\00:25:41.70 cardamon instead of nutmeg and for cinnamon, 00:25:41.74\00:25:44.64 instead of cinnamon 00:25:44.67\00:25:46.01 what are we gonna use, coriander. 00:25:46.04\00:25:48.58 Fantastic, 00:25:48.61\00:25:49.94 and these are delicate and mild and easy on the system. 00:25:49.98\00:25:53.35 So at the same time 00:25:53.38\00:25:54.72 you're eating good healthy food, 00:25:54.75\00:25:56.85 you're not hurting your body as well. 00:25:56.89\00:25:58.99 So it's up to you, when I head to tell people, 00:25:59.02\00:26:00.96 "hey, you have to do this, to do that." 00:26:00.99\00:26:02.72 Hey, it's your choice, we're just here to educate, 00:26:02.76\00:26:04.59 that's a role, 00:26:04.63\00:26:06.56 and we're trying to get a taste of paradise. 00:26:06.59\00:26:08.16 I remember as well, 00:26:08.20\00:26:09.53 I was going to go down 00:26:09.56\00:26:10.90 to there's this island called Grenada. 00:26:10.93\00:26:14.20 I don't know if you all know what I'm talking about. 00:26:14.24\00:26:16.10 In this island of Grenada, 00:26:16.14\00:26:18.07 I was gonna go there and do a project 00:26:18.11\00:26:19.71 and everybody started praying for me. 00:26:19.74\00:26:21.08 They said, "Nyse, 00:26:21.11\00:26:22.44 we're going to pray for you," Why? 00:26:22.48\00:26:23.81 "Because you're going to Grenada 00:26:23.85\00:26:25.18 and tell them that nutmeg is poisonous." 00:26:25.21\00:26:26.55 I said, I didn't say, 00:26:26.58\00:26:27.92 "Nutmeg is poisonous, it has its purpose." 00:26:27.95\00:26:29.28 And so they started praying, 00:26:29.32\00:26:30.65 and I went down there 00:26:30.69\00:26:32.02 and I shared with the people about nutmeg, 00:26:32.05\00:26:33.39 because Grenada is known as the island of spies 00:26:33.42\00:26:35.09 that's where a lot of nutmeg comes from. 00:26:35.12\00:26:36.46 And they said, "Oh, Nyse, we already know that, 00:26:36.49\00:26:39.03 that's old news. 00:26:39.06\00:26:40.40 We don't eat it, 00:26:40.43\00:26:41.76 we just grow it and ship it 00:26:41.80\00:26:43.13 to everybody else in the world." 00:26:43.16\00:26:44.50 I said, "Oh, my goodness." 00:26:44.53\00:26:45.87 Look at that, that is something else, 00:26:45.90\00:26:47.24 and so your choice, 00:26:47.27\00:26:49.74 cardamon instead of nutmeg, 00:26:49.77\00:26:51.37 coriander instead of cinnamon, 00:26:51.41\00:26:52.74 simple and easy. 00:26:52.77\00:26:54.11 What I'm going to do now, have my pie crust here, 00:26:54.14\00:26:55.71 hold it out to oven, it's ready to roll. 00:26:55.74\00:26:57.61 I'm just going to take this fill in 00:26:57.65\00:26:59.28 and pour it in really nice, 00:26:59.31\00:27:01.85 really tasty and simple for you there. 00:27:01.88\00:27:04.95 You can pour it in a little more. 00:27:04.99\00:27:06.82 As you see I cut my little pie crust there, 00:27:06.86\00:27:08.56 little too short but that's fine, 00:27:08.59\00:27:09.92 because I'm going to make a decoration with it. 00:27:09.96\00:27:11.29 You take that now, 00:27:11.33\00:27:12.66 you stick that in a oven at about 60 minutes, 00:27:12.69\00:27:17.20 60 minutes on 350 00:27:17.23\00:27:19.07 and it should be good and let me share this with you. 00:27:19.10\00:27:21.67 Let me share the finished product. 00:27:21.70\00:27:24.91 This is amazing. 00:27:24.94\00:27:26.98 All right, this is what we call our sweet potato pie, 00:27:27.01\00:27:31.41 sweet potato pie and a lot of people enjoy this. 00:27:31.45\00:27:35.85 I will go ahead 00:27:35.88\00:27:37.32 and encourage you to give it a try yourself take a slice. 00:27:37.35\00:27:40.36 Matter of fact if you enjoy it so much, 00:27:40.39\00:27:42.06 go for another slice. 00:27:42.09\00:27:43.56 It's fine, you already know what's in it, 00:27:43.59\00:27:45.93 it's healthy and but here's the key, 00:27:45.96\00:27:48.36 don't tell anybody, 00:27:48.40\00:27:49.73 don't say I didn't put this or put that. 00:27:49.76\00:27:51.10 Just put it out and say, "Hey enjoy, 00:27:51.13\00:27:53.13 sweet potato pie for everybody." 00:27:53.17\00:27:54.50 And you'll be shocked, 00:27:54.54\00:27:55.87 they won't even notice the difference 00:27:55.90\00:27:57.41 but they will feel the benefit of the taste of paradise. 00:27:57.44\00:28:00.21
