00:00:12.37\00:00:14.08 Welcome to A Taste of Paradise. 00:00:31.86\00:00:34.13 My name is Evita Tezeno 00:00:34.20\00:00:36.90 and today's recipes are 00:00:36.93\00:00:40.10 Coconut Egg less Salad 00:00:40.17\00:00:43.27 and Mock Chicken Salad. 00:00:43.34\00:00:49.11 We are gonna begin 00:00:49.14\00:00:51.55 with this wonderful coconut, 00:00:51.58\00:00:56.18 this is a young Thai coconut 00:00:56.22\00:00:58.45 and this is called a unmatured coconut. 00:00:58.49\00:01:03.43 When you see the brown coconuts, 00:01:03.46\00:01:05.56 they are matured and this is a young one. 00:01:05.59\00:01:08.90 And if you see them in the tree, 00:01:08.93\00:01:11.20 they have the green husk still on them 00:01:11.23\00:01:14.04 and when they transport them to the United States 00:01:14.10\00:01:17.01 or wherever they send them, they take off the husk. 00:01:17.07\00:01:20.78 So this is a young Thai coconut 00:01:20.84\00:01:24.45 and so the rest of the ingredients are, 00:01:24.48\00:01:27.95 one half cup of pure water, 00:01:27.98\00:01:30.45 two tablespoons of lemon juice, 00:01:30.49\00:01:33.32 one clove of garlic minced, 00:01:33.36\00:01:36.19 one teaspoon of mineral sea salt 00:01:36.22\00:01:39.83 and add a half a teaspoon at a time for taste, 00:01:39.86\00:01:44.97 one half cup of raw cashews soaked, 00:01:45.00\00:01:48.77 a half a teaspoon of dried mustard, 00:01:48.80\00:01:51.27 a half a teaspoon of turmeric for color as needed, 00:01:51.31\00:01:56.51 one cup of young coconut meat, 00:01:56.54\00:01:59.68 one-fourth cup of celery 00:01:59.71\00:02:02.48 and two green onions chopped. 00:02:02.52\00:02:07.26 So we have to get this coconut open. 00:02:07.29\00:02:12.26 So this is the easiest way and don't be afraid, it's easy. 00:02:12.29\00:02:17.43 You just have to concentrate 00:02:17.47\00:02:19.17 and don't let no one distract you, 00:02:19.20\00:02:21.24 so you begin with removing the top husk 00:02:21.27\00:02:25.24 of the coconut. 00:02:25.27\00:02:28.21 And you need a really, really sharp knife, 00:02:28.24\00:02:30.61 that's one of the keys. 00:02:30.65\00:02:33.52 And you wanna continue to get the husk off 00:02:33.58\00:02:37.95 until you get to the nut part of the coconut 00:02:37.99\00:02:43.53 and this is where you have to concentrate. 00:02:43.59\00:02:46.23 You take the edge of the knife 00:02:46.26\00:02:50.20 and you start, 00:02:50.23\00:02:53.27 just hitting it around, 00:02:53.30\00:02:57.54 until you open it up 00:02:57.57\00:03:01.68 and here is 00:03:01.71\00:03:05.38 a great water, 00:03:05.41\00:03:09.58 I called it God's sports drink 00:03:09.62\00:03:13.22 because it's high in electrolytes, 00:03:13.25\00:03:17.03 it's sweet, 00:03:17.06\00:03:19.23 it's delectable. 00:03:19.26\00:03:20.60 Oh, I think, I'm gonna have a little sip right now. 00:03:20.63\00:03:24.80 Oh, this is wonderful, 00:03:24.83\00:03:27.10 it is so refreshing. 00:03:27.14\00:03:29.27 And it has a little salt and a little sweet taste 00:03:29.30\00:03:33.01 and it's wonderful when you're working out 00:03:33.04\00:03:36.71 and you wanna replenish your electrolytes really quick. 00:03:36.75\00:03:41.12 I keep these all of the time in the refrigerator. 00:03:41.15\00:03:45.62 So you wanna have a spatula 00:03:45.65\00:03:51.33 and take the meat off like so 00:03:51.36\00:03:57.10 and then you wanna get in between 00:03:57.13\00:03:59.43 the husk and the coconut, 00:03:59.47\00:04:02.77 run this in like so 00:04:02.80\00:04:06.98 and work around until you get all the meat out. 00:04:07.01\00:04:11.11 And it's really easy 00:04:14.15\00:04:16.12 and this coconut meat is really soft, 00:04:16.15\00:04:19.79 it could be used in smoothies, 00:04:19.82\00:04:23.56 you can make pies with it, 00:04:23.63\00:04:25.33 you can make pudding, 00:04:25.36\00:04:30.13 it's all purpose, 00:04:30.17\00:04:31.80 it is all purpose. 00:04:31.83\00:04:34.40 You wanna check and see if there's any shell, 00:04:34.44\00:04:37.87 so you wanna really look for that 00:04:37.91\00:04:44.11 and you wanna just chop it up... 00:04:44.15\00:04:45.61 like so. 00:04:50.15\00:04:51.49 So we have 00:04:58.33\00:05:01.33 some already chopped coconut meat 00:05:01.36\00:05:05.73 and you need a food processor, 00:05:05.77\00:05:10.01 you wanna place one cup of coconut meat 00:05:10.04\00:05:14.54 in to the food processor. 00:05:14.58\00:05:16.38 Your lemon juice, 00:05:21.52\00:05:25.42 mustard powder, 00:05:25.45\00:05:28.19 mineral sea salt... 00:05:28.22\00:05:29.56 turmeric... 00:05:34.20\00:05:35.53 which is good for inflammatory, 00:05:38.50\00:05:41.37 oh, it's wonderful. 00:05:41.40\00:05:44.67 If you have inflammation, turmeric is wonderful 00:05:44.71\00:05:47.91 and you wanna press this, you wanna not over press this, 00:05:47.94\00:05:51.05 you wanna pulse it a little bit. 00:05:51.08\00:05:52.71 Make sure that all of it is incorporated... 00:06:03.09\00:06:06.03 so you wanna pulse it a little bit more 00:06:09.66\00:06:11.87 and if you notice, it has the appearance of egg. 00:06:19.07\00:06:23.85 That's why I love the young coconut 00:06:27.22\00:06:29.72 because you can do so many different recipes with this. 00:06:29.75\00:06:33.66 It's... 00:06:33.69\00:06:36.59 It is... 00:06:36.62\00:06:40.23 You could use this egg salad 00:06:40.30\00:06:42.90 in sandwiches, 00:06:42.93\00:06:45.60 on crackers. 00:06:45.63\00:06:48.44 So we have our chopped celery. 00:06:48.47\00:06:54.48 Oh, I've forgotten one thing. 00:06:54.51\00:06:58.08 I forgot to put the cashews in. 00:06:58.11\00:07:01.15 So let's put the cashews in... 00:07:01.18\00:07:04.05 and then you wanna add your water. 00:07:19.57\00:07:23.04 You wanna place it in to a bowl... 00:07:37.19\00:07:39.42 and look this looks so similar to egg salad. 00:07:44.43\00:07:48.60 And then we wanna incorporate the green onions. 00:07:52.93\00:07:56.34 Mix it around. 00:08:01.98\00:08:03.41 And then we wanna plate it. 00:08:07.55\00:08:09.32 And I have plated it with, 00:08:15.99\00:08:18.59 I have put some wonderful spinach 00:08:18.63\00:08:23.97 and some red peppers, 00:08:24.00\00:08:28.70 and here we have it, 00:08:28.74\00:08:30.84 Coconut Egg-less Salad. 00:08:30.91\00:08:35.38 And for the next recipe, 00:08:35.41\00:08:38.78 for the Mock Chicken Salad, 00:08:38.81\00:08:41.52 you're gonna need one half cup of sunflower seeds, 00:08:41.55\00:08:45.99 two cups of cashews soaked, 00:08:46.02\00:08:48.99 one table spoon of nutritional yeast flakes, 00:08:49.02\00:08:52.36 one tea spoon of dried dill, 00:08:52.39\00:08:54.96 a half a tea spoon of mineral sea salt, 00:08:55.00\00:08:58.00 one table spoon of lemon juice, 00:08:58.03\00:09:00.80 a half a cup of English cucumber, 00:09:00.87\00:09:04.44 chopped, two table spoons of chopped celery, 00:09:04.47\00:09:08.48 two green onions cut in small pieces. 00:09:08.51\00:09:14.05 This is a very simple recipe again. 00:09:14.08\00:09:17.72 We have the soaked cashews. 00:09:17.75\00:09:22.32 Soaked sunflower seeds 00:09:22.36\00:09:25.79 and also again by soaking your nuts and seeds, 00:09:25.83\00:09:30.07 this gives this recipe a creamy texture. 00:09:30.10\00:09:34.47 I used to love chicken salad before I became a vegetarian 00:09:34.50\00:09:39.67 and this is a very close recipe. 00:09:39.71\00:09:42.24 And you wanna process it till it looks 00:09:47.05\00:09:49.98 and it has the appearance of chopped chicken. 00:09:50.02\00:09:55.46 That's what the color looks like to me. 00:09:55.49\00:09:57.86 So you wanna make sure that there's not a lot of chunks. 00:09:57.89\00:10:01.16 So and now we wanna place it in our bowl. 00:10:04.30\00:10:06.94 Add the celery, 00:10:19.41\00:10:22.15 the green onions 00:10:22.18\00:10:26.65 and the English cucumbers. 00:10:26.72\00:10:28.52 Mix that together. 00:10:32.33\00:10:33.66 You wanna make sure that all the ingredients 00:10:37.00\00:10:39.07 are thoroughly mixed. 00:10:39.10\00:10:40.87 Isn't that wonderful. 00:10:45.21\00:10:46.71 It smells great. 00:10:46.74\00:10:49.34 I just love this recipe. 00:10:49.38\00:10:51.58 This is a good recipe to bring to picnics, 00:10:51.61\00:10:54.92 to a fellowship meal 00:10:54.95\00:10:58.75 and this is the way I like to serve it. 00:10:58.79\00:11:03.53 I cut up tomatoes and de-seed them. 00:11:03.56\00:11:07.30 Then I take a little of the mock chicken salad 00:11:07.30\00:11:12.50 and I place it in the tomatoes. 00:11:12.53\00:11:16.40 This is such an easy dish. 00:11:20.98\00:11:26.51 And this is also a dish that you can get your children 00:11:26.55\00:11:29.75 to do as well 00:11:29.78\00:11:33.25 and look at the colors, 00:11:33.32\00:11:34.66 the colors are just so beautiful. 00:11:34.69\00:11:37.93 You have your red, your greens 00:11:37.96\00:11:42.86 and I gonna separate with spinach leaves 00:11:42.90\00:11:44.90 and you can even eat the spinach leaves, 00:11:44.93\00:11:46.50 they're not just garnish. 00:11:46.53\00:11:48.17 So here we have it. 00:11:55.04\00:11:57.85 The Mock Chicken Salad. 00:11:57.88\00:12:01.88 And remember live life fresh. 00:12:01.92\00:12:04.92 Better butter on your bread. 00:12:12.46\00:12:15.10 This is the key today that we're gonna learn, 00:12:15.13\00:12:17.90 the key is to have some better butter 00:12:17.93\00:12:20.10 but also not only to have some better butter, 00:12:20.14\00:12:22.40 it's also to have some good bread. 00:12:22.44\00:12:24.21 And if you don't mind me saying, 00:12:24.27\00:12:25.61 it's when sometimes I get tired of bread, 00:12:25.64\00:12:27.24 somebody bring the corn bread, this is how we do it back home. 00:12:27.28\00:12:30.31 I don't know about you all 00:12:30.35\00:12:31.68 but we wanna make some good corn bread 00:12:31.71\00:12:34.08 and we wanna put some nice butter and just put it on. 00:12:34.12\00:12:36.99 I know sometimes when we make bread, we wait, 00:12:37.05\00:12:39.49 we go ahead and we bake it and it comes out, 00:12:39.52\00:12:42.16 the whole place is smelling, I mean, 00:12:42.19\00:12:43.89 your stomach is like calling the bread 00:12:43.93\00:12:46.03 and it's just like, it's a night mare sometimes 00:12:46.06\00:12:48.76 because you can't wait till it's finished. 00:12:48.80\00:12:50.33 But then we run into the kitchen 00:12:50.40\00:12:51.83 and we grab that bread and we slab on 00:12:51.87\00:12:54.07 some butter on top of that and then we eat it in 00:12:54.10\00:12:56.37 and here's the thing, it tastes good for a moment. 00:12:56.40\00:12:59.51 And you're enjoying it and stuff like that. 00:12:59.54\00:13:01.31 But then if you notice a little bit later that day 00:13:01.34\00:13:03.98 or may be tomorrow or something, 00:13:04.05\00:13:05.38 you wonder why you got that extra blessing 00:13:05.41\00:13:07.92 going on in your stomach. 00:13:07.95\00:13:09.35 Well, the first reason why is, 00:13:09.38\00:13:11.59 is because we ate the bread too soon. 00:13:11.62\00:13:14.49 If you notice there's a lot of people sometimes, 00:13:14.52\00:13:17.33 they call them, we're not calling names 00:13:17.36\00:13:19.63 but we just say, you know, they have... 00:13:19.66\00:13:21.00 May have a bear belly, I call that a extra blessing 00:13:21.03\00:13:24.50 and if you notice there may be people 00:13:24.53\00:13:26.00 who don't even drink alcohol but they still end up 00:13:26.03\00:13:28.64 with that belly that looks a little bit like 00:13:28.67\00:13:30.71 the bear belly. 00:13:30.77\00:13:32.51 And we wonder why is that happening, 00:13:32.54\00:13:34.44 there's a couple of reasons and we'll talk about this 00:13:34.48\00:13:36.64 at some of the other programs that we'll do but today 00:13:36.71\00:13:39.25 we'll share with you one reason why? 00:13:39.28\00:13:40.88 You notice when you ate that bread that was fresh 00:13:40.92\00:13:43.75 and you put that slab of butter on it and it was so good. 00:13:43.79\00:13:47.42 I wanna let you know that, that yeast is still active. 00:13:47.46\00:13:50.79 Now what does yeast do? 00:13:50.83\00:13:52.63 Yeast normally, as you know, as it ferments 00:13:52.66\00:13:54.93 and that process takes place. 00:13:54.96\00:13:56.70 It kind of rises the bread, right. 00:13:56.73\00:13:59.00 So the bread rises and the yeast is active, 00:13:59.03\00:14:01.60 it says it on that little package 00:14:01.64\00:14:03.00 that you buy from the store, active yeast. 00:14:03.04\00:14:05.44 So that means it's working, it's doing its thing 00:14:05.47\00:14:07.28 especially when you put that water in it, right. 00:14:07.31\00:14:09.24 So when you eat that bread 00:14:09.28\00:14:10.85 because the yeast is still, what is it? 00:14:10.88\00:14:13.05 Active, now when you digest it, it is still active. 00:14:13.08\00:14:18.32 So what does it do? 00:14:18.35\00:14:19.69 You remember, yeast causes things of what? 00:14:19.72\00:14:21.19 Rise. 00:14:21.22\00:14:22.56 So you notice what else that's rising, 00:14:22.59\00:14:24.63 the belly starts rising and then people like, 00:14:24.66\00:14:26.70 "Ma, what's going on and I'm starting to have 00:14:26.73\00:14:28.80 a stomach pains or acid reflux 00:14:28.83\00:14:31.03 but I wanna let you know these things 00:14:31.07\00:14:32.43 are some of the easiest things to take care of 00:14:32.47\00:14:34.30 if we just follow simple principles. 00:14:34.34\00:14:36.47 So people say, "Well, 00:14:36.50\00:14:37.87 I can have my hot bread no more." 00:14:37.91\00:14:39.41 A matter of fact, you can have the hot bread 00:14:39.44\00:14:41.64 but we just don't want you to have it fresh. 00:14:41.68\00:14:44.45 Why? Because the yeast is still active. 00:14:44.48\00:14:47.48 Active is the key here. 00:14:47.52\00:14:48.85 So how do we deactivate the active yeast 00:14:48.88\00:14:51.99 so we can enjoy the bread? 00:14:52.02\00:14:53.36 Well, there's a really simple principle that we follow, 00:14:53.42\00:14:55.42 when you go ahead and you bake that bread 00:14:55.46\00:14:57.13 and it comes out nice 00:14:57.19\00:14:58.53 and the whole place is smelling up. 00:14:58.56\00:14:59.89 Please make sure you eat before that bread is finished 00:14:59.93\00:15:01.80 because you will be tempted. 00:15:01.83\00:15:03.70 I mean, you'll be so tempted to go ahead and grab it. 00:15:03.77\00:15:05.97 But go ahead and what you do is, 00:15:06.00\00:15:07.64 you take that bread, you slice it nicely. 00:15:07.67\00:15:09.64 All right, now be faithful, be strong, 00:15:09.67\00:15:11.74 you slice it nicely, take it now 00:15:11.77\00:15:13.58 and put it back in the oven. 00:15:13.61\00:15:16.21 People are like, "What?" 00:15:16.24\00:15:17.58 A matter of fact, that's what you wanna do. 00:15:17.65\00:15:18.98 You wanna dry it out, you wanna bake it 00:15:19.01\00:15:21.35 just a little bit more on lower heat 00:15:21.38\00:15:23.59 till the last trace of moisture disappears. 00:15:23.62\00:15:26.22 And if anybody knows and they did their studies 00:15:26.25\00:15:28.12 in Ministry of Healing, many years ago, it was written, 00:15:28.16\00:15:30.83 it's to follow the same principle. 00:15:30.86\00:15:32.19 This is called Zwieback bread or twice baked bread. 00:15:32.23\00:15:35.80 My friend was telling me a story 00:15:35.83\00:15:37.37 that in this far away city called Atlanta, Georgia, 00:15:37.43\00:15:40.74 there's this place over there and they make really good 00:15:40.80\00:15:43.97 and not just good bread, healthy bread. 00:15:44.01\00:15:45.71 I'm talking about the whole wheat stuff 00:15:45.74\00:15:47.74 and with the nuts and all of these 00:15:47.78\00:15:49.74 different types of grains. 00:15:49.78\00:15:51.11 And but however, the bread was so good, 00:15:51.15\00:15:53.68 they would charge premium prices on it. 00:15:53.72\00:15:56.02 Let me explain what I mean. 00:15:56.05\00:15:57.39 Six, seven dollars a loaf of bread. 00:15:57.45\00:16:00.19 So I said, "Man, do you buy this bread, 00:16:00.22\00:16:01.82 you can make it yourself." 00:16:01.86\00:16:03.19 He says, "Yeah, I buy it but I don't pay that price." 00:16:03.22\00:16:04.56 I said, "What do you mean?" 00:16:04.59\00:16:05.93 He says the day that they bake the bread and it's fresh, 00:16:05.96\00:16:08.23 everybody rushes the place and they're paying 00:16:08.26\00:16:10.40 and they're buying. 00:16:10.47\00:16:11.83 But he says, "What I do is, I wait two or three days after, 00:16:11.87\00:16:17.24 when everybody thinks that bread is not what? 00:16:17.31\00:16:19.51 Fresh anymore and I go and buy." 00:16:19.54\00:16:21.48 He says, "Man, the bakery is basically 00:16:21.51\00:16:23.85 giving the bread away and I'll pay may be a dollar, 00:16:23.88\00:16:26.92 may be two because they consider it old bread." 00:16:26.95\00:16:29.95 But do you see the message of God here, 00:16:29.98\00:16:31.85 God allows his healthy principles 00:16:31.89\00:16:34.36 to be accessible to everybody. 00:16:34.39\00:16:35.99 Not just those who could have four, five dollar worth 00:16:36.02\00:16:38.56 or loaf of bread, even a poor man 00:16:38.59\00:16:41.10 can buy that for a dollar. 00:16:41.13\00:16:42.46 And he gets them in a best way. 00:16:42.50\00:16:43.83 But forget about buying it for somebody else. 00:16:43.87\00:16:45.77 We're gonna make our own today. 00:16:45.80\00:16:47.70 And we're gonna make not just any bread, 00:16:47.74\00:16:49.67 we're gonna make some good old, corn bread. 00:16:49.70\00:16:52.24 So let's go through the recipe here real quick, 00:16:52.27\00:16:54.28 really simple and easy to make. 00:16:54.31\00:16:56.21 One and one half cup of cornmeal, 00:16:56.24\00:16:59.75 one half cup of whole wheat or unbleached flour, 00:16:59.78\00:17:03.52 one half cup of cane sugar, 00:17:03.55\00:17:06.25 three quarter tea spoon of sea salt, 00:17:06.29\00:17:09.89 one cup of water, 00:17:09.92\00:17:11.26 two table spoons of coconut milk 00:17:11.29\00:17:13.03 and one half cup of oil. 00:17:13.06\00:17:16.80 Really simple and easy, everybody can do this. 00:17:16.87\00:17:19.67 A matter of fact, I think you already have 00:17:19.70\00:17:21.04 the ingredients in your home. 00:17:21.07\00:17:23.20 Just go ahead and check that pantry. 00:17:23.24\00:17:24.57 I already put it out here, really simple 00:17:24.61\00:17:26.04 and easy for you all. 00:17:26.07\00:17:27.41 So let's just go ahead and knock this out. 00:17:27.48\00:17:29.18 We have the corn meal here, fantastic, 00:17:29.21\00:17:32.25 we used to make this thing called corn meal porridge 00:17:32.28\00:17:35.58 or corn meal dumpling. 00:17:35.62\00:17:37.65 I don't know if you all know what I'm talking about. 00:17:37.69\00:17:39.02 My mom is from Trinidad, so we know how to get down 00:17:39.05\00:17:41.06 with some of those things. 00:17:41.09\00:17:42.42 And you take the corn meal there. 00:17:42.46\00:17:43.93 Then you take what? 00:17:43.96\00:17:45.73 You take your whole wheat flour, 00:17:45.76\00:17:47.10 you mix that in there. 00:17:47.13\00:17:48.53 Really, simple and easy or a flour of your choice. 00:17:48.56\00:17:52.27 If you wanna use spelt, go ahead, try that. 00:17:52.30\00:17:54.40 Hey, try some thing new, then you're gonna take that, 00:17:54.44\00:17:57.47 the cane sugar here. 00:17:57.51\00:17:59.14 Now this is just not regular sugar. 00:17:59.17\00:18:00.81 This is not brown sugar. 00:18:00.84\00:18:02.18 Lot of times we use sugar and it's not really, you know, 00:18:02.21\00:18:04.58 they say, "Oh, brown sugar is good for you." 00:18:04.61\00:18:06.15 Well, do you know what really brown sugar is? 00:18:06.18\00:18:08.38 It's basically white sugar with a little bit of 00:18:08.42\00:18:10.35 molasses extract or just molasses 00:18:10.42\00:18:13.12 and that's what brown sugar is. 00:18:13.15\00:18:14.52 So make sure you get the cane sugar, 00:18:14.56\00:18:15.89 the crystals whatever you can find is good enough. 00:18:15.92\00:18:18.46 So you mix that there, then you take your salt 00:18:18.49\00:18:22.20 as we see here the sea salt. 00:18:22.23\00:18:23.80 Make sure that mixes properly too 00:18:23.87\00:18:26.60 because one day you'll be eating your corn bread 00:18:26.63\00:18:29.94 and you get a salty bite if you don't do it properly. 00:18:30.01\00:18:32.57 So you mix that all there together 00:18:32.61\00:18:34.58 and then the rest of piece of cake, we have the what? 00:18:34.61\00:18:36.95 The oil, we'll pour the oil in. 00:18:36.98\00:18:40.75 Preferably you can use the light, tasting olive oil. 00:18:40.82\00:18:46.42 Some people use a different types, 00:18:46.45\00:18:49.46 canola or... but your choice. 00:18:49.49\00:18:52.09 I'd like to stick with olive oil. 00:18:52.13\00:18:53.50 That's what the Bible talks about, 00:18:53.53\00:18:54.83 I'm just gonna keep it simple. 00:18:54.86\00:18:56.20 I'm gonna pour in the water as well, as about how much? 00:18:56.23\00:19:01.10 About a cup, okay. 00:19:01.14\00:19:03.27 So I'm gonna pour that there, I mean, mix it a little bit. 00:19:03.30\00:19:05.94 You just get it going. 00:19:05.97\00:19:07.31 This is a cool little item that you can have 00:19:07.34\00:19:09.24 the kids involved in as well and this is actually 00:19:09.28\00:19:12.48 a healthy one and one of the last ingredients 00:19:12.51\00:19:16.48 is your coconut milk, 00:19:16.52\00:19:20.19 two table spoons of coconut milk. 00:19:20.22\00:19:22.92 Now lot of people are also thinking, 00:19:22.96\00:19:24.89 they say, "Wait a second, all right. 00:19:24.93\00:19:26.83 I notice you didn't add 00:19:26.86\00:19:28.46 another ingredient into this mixture." 00:19:28.50\00:19:30.90 And I say, "What did I not add?" 00:19:30.97\00:19:32.30 They say, "You didn't add the baking powder 00:19:32.33\00:19:36.50 or the baking soda or something of that nature." 00:19:36.54\00:19:40.51 Now watch this, corn bread 00:19:40.58\00:19:42.28 doesn't really use yeast, right? 00:19:42.31\00:19:44.25 So it needs something to kind of cause it to rise. 00:19:44.28\00:19:46.85 So what many people use is what? 00:19:46.92\00:19:49.85 Baking powder or baking soda. 00:19:49.88\00:19:52.45 Now I wanna encourage people to start reading 00:19:52.49\00:19:55.02 and start studying because this may be something 00:19:55.06\00:19:57.03 that would cause a problem 00:19:57.06\00:19:58.66 and we don't wanna do that, why? 00:19:58.69\00:20:01.03 This baking soda, baking powder and AKA, sodium bicarbonate, 00:20:01.06\00:20:05.33 when it hits the system, it causes actually 00:20:05.37\00:20:07.87 what is known as inflammation. 00:20:07.90\00:20:10.01 Inflammation, now I don't know, yeah, I don't want information. 00:20:10.07\00:20:13.34 What happens is because it's a sodium bicarbonate, 00:20:13.38\00:20:16.08 that base or whatever your body has to digest food 00:20:16.11\00:20:19.15 at a certain Ph level, right? 00:20:19.18\00:20:22.05 So when you add this baking soda, 00:20:22.08\00:20:24.15 it is baking powder. 00:20:24.19\00:20:25.52 It adjusts that Ph, inflammation takes place 00:20:25.55\00:20:28.99 and now the body cannot begin to digest and like it wants to, 00:20:29.02\00:20:32.23 it has to get that Ph back to where it needs to ago 00:20:32.26\00:20:35.86 because, you know, it was changed by let's say, 00:20:35.90\00:20:38.73 the baking soda or baking powder. 00:20:38.77\00:20:40.37 So one thing that we encourage our clients to do when cooking 00:20:40.40\00:20:44.37 and making delicious food is hold off on 00:20:44.41\00:20:46.74 may be some of that baking soda or baking powder. 00:20:46.81\00:20:49.18 Actually when I go to the store, 00:20:49.21\00:20:50.58 even the helpful store 00:20:50.61\00:20:51.95 and I look at some of the ingredients, 00:20:51.98\00:20:53.31 as soon as I see baking soda, baking powder, 00:20:53.35\00:20:55.28 time out, I leave it alone. 00:20:55.32\00:20:57.22 One lady said, "Oh, man. 00:20:57.25\00:20:58.95 Nice, you don't know what you're talking about." 00:20:58.99\00:21:01.52 I said, well, give it a try yourself. 00:21:01.56\00:21:03.53 And she had what is known as acid reflux. 00:21:03.56\00:21:05.76 And she had it for numerous years. 00:21:05.79\00:21:07.20 So she went ahead and she held off on 00:21:07.23\00:21:09.50 using baking soda, baking powder 00:21:09.53\00:21:11.47 and within a couple of weeks time, 00:21:11.50\00:21:13.80 her problem by the grace of God with other adjustments 00:21:13.84\00:21:16.40 in her lifestyle was gone. 00:21:16.44\00:21:18.27 So I wanna encourage you to give it a try 00:21:18.31\00:21:19.64 but we are not done yet in our recipe. 00:21:19.67\00:21:21.24 So you take your nice, little batter. 00:21:21.28\00:21:23.14 I remember we used to make this, it was so good. 00:21:23.18\00:21:26.11 You take your batter and now I'm gonna bring it over here. 00:21:26.15\00:21:28.12 You just have a eight by eight dish and really simple. 00:21:28.15\00:21:31.05 People say, "Well, you need to grease the dish." 00:21:31.09\00:21:32.79 I already put enough oil in this thing, 00:21:32.82\00:21:34.86 it doesn't need any additional. 00:21:34.89\00:21:36.56 And you stick that there and you get that going. 00:21:36.59\00:21:40.30 Let me just move this out of the way 00:21:40.36\00:21:42.16 and just see here. 00:21:42.20\00:21:43.53 You remember this and we used to go like this 00:21:43.60\00:21:47.07 and lick it up and then done. 00:21:47.10\00:21:49.57 Viola, we're gonna take that. 00:21:49.60\00:21:50.94 We're gonna stick that in a oven about 300-325, 00:21:50.97\00:21:54.58 you decide what works best for you. 00:21:54.61\00:21:56.54 And everything else works there.
