00:00:12.44\00:00:14.14 Welcome to A Taste of Paradise. 00:00:31.93\00:00:34.23 My name is Evita Tezeno 00:00:34.26\00:00:36.97 and today's recipes are 00:00:37.00\00:00:40.20 Coconut Egg less Salad 00:00:40.24\00:00:43.37 and Mock Chicken Salad. 00:00:43.41\00:00:49.21 We are gonna begin 00:00:49.24\00:00:51.65 with this wonderful coconut, 00:00:51.68\00:00:56.28 this is a young Thai coconut 00:00:56.32\00:00:58.55 and this is called a unmatured coconut. 00:00:58.59\00:01:03.43 When you see the brown coconuts, 00:01:03.46\00:01:05.59 they are matured and this is a young one. 00:01:05.63\00:01:08.96 And if you see them in the tree, 00:01:09.00\00:01:11.27 they have the green husk still on them 00:01:11.30\00:01:14.10 and when they transport them to the United States 00:01:14.14\00:01:17.07 or wherever they send them, they take off the husk. 00:01:17.11\00:01:20.84 So this is a young Thai coconut 00:01:20.88\00:01:24.51 and so the rest of the ingredients are, 00:01:24.55\00:01:28.02 one half cup of pure water, 00:01:28.05\00:01:30.49 two tablespoons of lemon juice, 00:01:30.52\00:01:33.39 one clove of garlic minced, 00:01:33.42\00:01:36.26 one teaspoon of mineral sea salt 00:01:36.29\00:01:39.89 and add a half a teaspoon at a time for taste, 00:01:39.93\00:01:45.07 one half cup of raw cashews soaked, 00:01:45.10\00:01:48.87 a half a teaspoon of dried mustard, 00:01:48.90\00:01:51.37 a half a teaspoon of turmeric for color as needed, 00:01:51.41\00:01:56.61 one cup of young coconut meat, 00:01:56.64\00:01:59.78 one-fourth cup of celery 00:01:59.81\00:02:02.52 and two green onions chopped. 00:02:02.55\00:02:07.26 So we have to get this coconut open. 00:02:07.29\00:02:12.29 So this is the easiest way and don't be afraid, it's easy. 00:02:12.33\00:02:17.47 You just have to concentrate 00:02:17.50\00:02:19.23 and don't let no one distract you, 00:02:19.27\00:02:21.30 so you begin with removing the top husk 00:02:21.34\00:02:25.31 of the coconut. 00:02:25.34\00:02:28.28 And you need a really, really sharp knife, 00:02:28.31\00:02:30.65 that's one of the keys. 00:02:30.68\00:02:33.58 And you wanna continue to get the husk off 00:02:33.62\00:02:38.02 until you get to the nut part of the coconut 00:02:38.05\00:02:43.59 and this is where you have to concentrate. 00:02:43.63\00:02:46.29 You take the edge of the knife 00:02:46.33\00:02:50.27 and you start, 00:02:50.30\00:02:53.34 just hitting it around, 00:02:53.37\00:02:57.64 until you open it up 00:02:57.67\00:03:01.71 and here is 00:03:01.74\00:03:05.41 a great water, 00:03:05.45\00:03:09.62 I called it God's sports drink 00:03:09.65\00:03:13.25 because it's high in electrolytes, 00:03:13.29\00:03:17.03 it's sweet, 00:03:17.06\00:03:19.26 it's delectable. 00:03:19.29\00:03:20.63 Oh, I think, I'm gonna have a little sip right now. 00:03:20.66\00:03:24.87 Oh, this is wonderful, 00:03:24.90\00:03:27.17 it is so refreshing. 00:03:27.20\00:03:29.34 And it has a little salt and a little sweet taste 00:03:29.37\00:03:33.07 and it's wonderful when you're working out 00:03:33.11\00:03:36.75 and you wanna replenish your electrolytes really quick. 00:03:36.78\00:03:41.18 I keep these all of the time in the refrigerator. 00:03:41.22\00:03:45.69 So you wanna have a spatula 00:03:45.72\00:03:51.39 and take the meat off like so 00:03:51.43\00:03:57.17 and then you wanna get in between 00:03:57.20\00:03:59.53 the husk and the coconut, 00:03:59.57\00:04:02.80 run this in like so 00:04:02.84\00:04:06.98 and work around until you get all the meat out. 00:04:07.01\00:04:11.15 And it's really easy 00:04:14.18\00:04:16.15 and this coconut meat is really soft, 00:04:16.18\00:04:19.82 it could be used in smoothies, 00:04:19.85\00:04:23.59 you can make pies with it, 00:04:23.63\00:04:25.36 you can make pudding, 00:04:25.39\00:04:30.17 it's all purpose, 00:04:30.20\00:04:31.87 it is all purpose. 00:04:31.90\00:04:34.47 You wanna check and see if there's any shell, 00:04:34.50\00:04:37.94 so you wanna really look for that 00:04:37.97\00:04:44.15 and you wanna just chop it up... 00:04:44.18\00:04:45.68 like so. 00:04:50.22\00:04:51.55 So we have 00:04:58.39\00:05:01.36 some already chopped coconut meat 00:05:01.40\00:05:05.77 and you need a food processor, 00:05:05.80\00:05:10.04 you wanna place one cup of coconut meat 00:05:10.07\00:05:14.58 in to the food processor. 00:05:14.61\00:05:16.41 Your lemon juice, 00:05:21.55\00:05:25.45 mustard powder, 00:05:25.49\00:05:28.22 mineral sea salt... 00:05:28.26\00:05:29.59 turmeric... 00:05:34.26\00:05:35.60 which is good for inflammatory, 00:05:38.57\00:05:41.44 oh, it's wonderful. 00:05:41.47\00:05:44.74 If you have inflammation, turmeric is wonderful 00:05:44.77\00:05:47.98 and you wanna press this, you wanna not over press this, 00:05:48.01\00:05:51.11 you wanna pulse it a little bit. 00:05:51.15\00:05:52.78 Make sure that all of it is incorporated... 00:06:03.09\00:06:06.03 so you wanna pulse it a little bit more 00:06:09.70\00:06:11.90 and if you notice, it has the appearance of egg. 00:06:19.11\00:06:23.88 That's why I love the young coconut 00:06:27.25\00:06:29.75 because you can do so many different recipes with this. 00:06:29.78\00:06:33.66 It's... 00:06:33.69\00:06:36.62 It is... 00:06:36.66\00:06:40.26 You could use this egg salad 00:06:40.30\00:06:42.96 in sandwiches, 00:06:43.00\00:06:45.67 on crackers. 00:06:45.70\00:06:48.50 So we have our chopped celery. 00:06:48.54\00:06:54.54 Oh, I've forgotten one thing. 00:06:54.58\00:06:58.15 I forgot to put the cashews in. 00:06:58.18\00:07:01.15 So let's put the cashews in... 00:07:01.18\00:07:04.05 and then you wanna add your water. 00:07:19.60\00:07:23.07 You wanna place it in to a bowl... 00:07:37.22\00:07:39.45 and look this looks so similar to egg salad. 00:07:44.46\00:07:48.66 And then we wanna incorporate the green onions. 00:07:53.00\00:07:56.40 Mix it around. 00:08:01.98\00:08:03.41 And then we wanna plate it. 00:08:07.55\00:08:09.32 And I have plated it with, 00:08:15.99\00:08:18.59 I have put some wonderful spinach 00:08:18.63\00:08:24.00 and some red peppers, 00:08:24.03\00:08:28.74 and here we have it, 00:08:28.77\00:08:30.87 Coconut Egg-less Salad. 00:08:30.91\00:08:35.41 And for the next recipe, 00:08:35.44\00:08:38.81 for the Mock Chicken Salad, 00:08:38.85\00:08:41.55 you're gonna need one half cup of sunflower seeds, 00:08:41.58\00:08:46.02 two cups of cashews soaked, 00:08:46.05\00:08:49.02 one table spoon of nutritional yeast flakes, 00:08:49.06\00:08:52.39 one tea spoon of dried dill, 00:08:52.43\00:08:55.03 a half a tea spoon of mineral sea salt, 00:08:55.06\00:08:58.07 one table spoon of lemon juice, 00:08:58.10\00:09:00.80 a half a cup of English cucumber, 00:09:00.84\00:09:04.44 chopped, two table spoons of chopped celery, 00:09:04.47\00:09:08.48 two green onions cut in small pieces. 00:09:08.51\00:09:14.02 This is a very simple recipe again. 00:09:14.05\00:09:17.72 We have the soaked cashews. 00:09:17.75\00:09:22.32 Soaked sunflower seeds 00:09:22.36\00:09:25.79 and also again by soaking your nuts and seeds, 00:09:25.83\00:09:30.10 this gives this recipe a creamy texture. 00:09:30.13\00:09:34.50 I used to love chicken salad before I became a vegetarian 00:09:34.54\00:09:39.71 and this is a very close recipe. 00:09:39.74\00:09:42.28 And you wanna process it till it looks 00:09:47.08\00:09:50.02 and it has the appearance of chopped chicken. 00:09:50.05\00:09:55.49 That's what the color looks like to me. 00:09:55.52\00:09:57.89 So you wanna make sure that there's not a lot of chunks. 00:09:57.93\00:10:01.23 So and now we wanna place it in our bowl. 00:10:04.37\00:10:07.00 Add the celery, 00:10:19.48\00:10:22.22 the green onions 00:10:22.25\00:10:26.72 and the English cucumbers. 00:10:26.76\00:10:28.59 Mix that together. 00:10:32.39\00:10:33.73 You wanna make sure that all the ingredients 00:10:37.10\00:10:39.17 are thoroughly mixed. 00:10:39.20\00:10:40.97 Isn't that wonderful. 00:10:45.31\00:10:46.81 It smells great. 00:10:46.84\00:10:49.44 I just love this recipe. 00:10:49.48\00:10:51.68 This is a good recipe to bring to picnics, 00:10:51.71\00:10:55.02 to a fellowship meal 00:10:55.05\00:10:58.85 and this is the way I like to serve it. 00:10:58.89\00:11:03.56 I cut up tomatoes and de-seed them. 00:11:03.59\00:11:07.30 Then I take a little of the mock chicken salad 00:11:07.33\00:11:12.57 and I place it in the tomatoes. 00:11:12.60\00:11:16.47 This is such an easy dish. 00:11:21.04\00:11:26.58 And this is also a dish that you can get your children 00:11:26.61\00:11:29.82 to do as well 00:11:29.85\00:11:33.32 and look at the colors, 00:11:33.36\00:11:34.69 the colors are just so beautiful. 00:11:34.72\00:11:37.99 You have your red, your greens 00:11:38.03\00:11:42.96 and I gonna separate with spinach leaves 00:11:43.00\00:11:45.00 and you can even eat the spinach leaves, 00:11:45.03\00:11:46.60 they're not just garnish. 00:11:46.63\00:11:48.27 So here we have it. 00:11:55.14\00:11:57.95 The Mock Chicken Salad. 00:11:57.98\00:12:01.92 And remember live life fresh. 00:12:01.95\00:12:04.95 Better butter on your bread. 00:12:12.49\00:12:15.16 This is the key today that we're gonna learn, 00:12:15.20\00:12:17.97 the key is to have some better butter 00:12:18.00\00:12:20.14 but also not only to have some better butter, 00:12:20.17\00:12:22.47 it's also to have some good bread. 00:12:22.50\00:12:24.27 And if you don't mind me saying, 00:12:24.31\00:12:25.64 it's when sometimes I get tired of bread, 00:12:25.67\00:12:27.28 somebody bring the corn bread, this is how we do it back home. 00:12:27.31\00:12:30.35 I don't know about you all 00:12:30.38\00:12:31.71 but we wanna make some good corn bread 00:12:31.75\00:12:34.15 and we wanna put some nice butter and just put it on. 00:12:34.18\00:12:37.05 I know sometimes when we make bread, we wait, 00:12:37.09\00:12:39.55 we go ahead and we bake it and it comes out, 00:12:39.59\00:12:42.22 the whole place is smelling, I mean, 00:12:42.26\00:12:43.93 your stomach is like calling the bread 00:12:43.96\00:12:46.09 and it's just like, it's a night mare sometimes 00:12:46.13\00:12:48.86 because you can't wait till it's finished. 00:12:48.90\00:12:50.43 But then we run into the kitchen 00:12:50.47\00:12:51.93 and we grab that bread and we slab on 00:12:51.97\00:12:54.17 some butter on top of that and then we eat it in 00:12:54.20\00:12:56.47 and here's the thing, it tastes good for a moment. 00:12:56.50\00:12:59.61 And you're enjoying it and stuff like that. 00:12:59.64\00:13:01.34 But then if you notice a little bit later that day 00:13:01.38\00:13:04.01 or may be tomorrow or something, 00:13:04.05\00:13:05.41 you wonder why you got that extra blessing 00:13:05.45\00:13:07.95 going on in your stomach. 00:13:07.98\00:13:09.38 Well, the first reason why is, 00:13:09.42\00:13:11.62 is because we ate the bread too soon. 00:13:11.65\00:13:14.52 If you notice there's a lot of people sometimes, 00:13:14.56\00:13:17.36 they call them, we're not calling names 00:13:17.39\00:13:19.66 but we just say, you know, they have... 00:13:19.69\00:13:21.06 May have a bear belly, I call that a extra blessing 00:13:21.10\00:13:24.57 and if you notice there may be people 00:13:24.60\00:13:26.07 who don't even drink alcohol but they still end up 00:13:26.10\00:13:28.70 with that belly that looks a little bit like 00:13:28.74\00:13:30.77 the bear belly. 00:13:30.81\00:13:32.57 And we wonder why is that happening, 00:13:32.61\00:13:34.51 there's a couple of reasons and we'll talk about this 00:13:34.54\00:13:36.71 at some of the other programs that we'll do but today 00:13:36.75\00:13:39.31 we'll share with you one reason why? 00:13:39.35\00:13:40.92 You notice when you ate that bread that was fresh 00:13:40.95\00:13:43.79 and you put that slab of butter on it and it was so good. 00:13:43.82\00:13:47.46 I wanna let you know that, that yeast is still active. 00:13:47.49\00:13:50.83 Now what does yeast do? 00:13:50.86\00:13:52.69 Yeast normally, as you know, as it ferments 00:13:52.73\00:13:55.03 and that process takes place. 00:13:55.06\00:13:56.80 It kind of rises the bread, right. 00:13:56.83\00:13:59.10 So the bread rises and the yeast is active, 00:13:59.13\00:14:01.64 it says it on that little package 00:14:01.67\00:14:03.04 that you buy from the store, active yeast. 00:14:03.07\00:14:05.47 So that means it's working, it's doing its thing 00:14:05.51\00:14:07.28 especially when you put that water in it, right. 00:14:07.31\00:14:09.28 So when you eat that bread 00:14:09.31\00:14:10.85 because the yeast is still, what is it? 00:14:10.88\00:14:13.08 Active, now when you digest it, it is still active. 00:14:13.11\00:14:18.35 So what does it do? 00:14:18.39\00:14:19.72 You remember, yeast causes things of what? 00:14:19.75\00:14:21.22 Rise. 00:14:21.26\00:14:22.59 So you notice what else that's rising, 00:14:22.62\00:14:24.66 the belly starts rising and then people like, 00:14:24.69\00:14:26.70 "Ma, what's going on and I'm starting to have 00:14:26.73\00:14:28.86 a stomach pains or acid reflux 00:14:28.90\00:14:31.10 but I wanna let you know these things 00:14:31.13\00:14:32.50 are some of the easiest things to take care of 00:14:32.53\00:14:34.37 if we just follow simple principles. 00:14:34.40\00:14:36.54 So people say, "Well, 00:14:36.57\00:14:37.94 I can have my hot bread no more." 00:14:37.97\00:14:39.47 A matter of fact, you can have the hot bread 00:14:39.51\00:14:41.71 but we just don't want you to have it fresh. 00:14:41.74\00:14:44.51 Why? Because the yeast is still active. 00:14:44.55\00:14:47.55 Active is the key here. 00:14:47.58\00:14:48.92 So how do we deactivate the active yeast 00:14:48.95\00:14:52.05 so we can enjoy the bread? 00:14:52.09\00:14:53.42 Well, there's a really simple principle that we follow, 00:14:53.46\00:14:55.49 when you go ahead and you bake that bread 00:14:55.52\00:14:57.19 and it comes out nice 00:14:57.23\00:14:58.56 and the whole place is smelling up. 00:14:58.59\00:14:59.93 Please make sure you eat before that bread is finished 00:14:59.96\00:15:01.83 because you will be tempted. 00:15:01.86\00:15:03.73 I mean, you'll be so tempted to go ahead and grab it. 00:15:03.77\00:15:06.00 But go ahead and what you do is, 00:15:06.03\00:15:07.67 you take that bread, you slice it nicely. 00:15:07.70\00:15:09.67 All right, now be faithful, be strong, 00:15:09.70\00:15:11.77 you slice it nicely, take it now 00:15:11.81\00:15:13.58 and put it back in the oven. 00:15:13.61\00:15:16.24 People are like, "What?" 00:15:16.28\00:15:17.61 A matter of fact, that's what you wanna do. 00:15:17.65\00:15:18.98 You wanna dry it out, you wanna bake it 00:15:19.01\00:15:21.38 just a little bit more on lower heat 00:15:21.42\00:15:23.59 till the last trace of moisture disappears. 00:15:23.62\00:15:26.25 And if anybody knows and they did their studies 00:15:26.29\00:15:28.16 in Ministry of Healing, many years ago, it was written, 00:15:28.19\00:15:30.86 it's to follow the same principle. 00:15:30.89\00:15:32.23 This is called Zwieback bread or twice baked bread. 00:15:32.26\00:15:35.86 My friend was telling me a story 00:15:35.90\00:15:37.43 that in this far away city called Atlanta, Georgia, 00:15:37.47\00:15:40.80 there's this place over there and they make really good 00:15:40.84\00:15:44.04 and not just good bread, healthy bread. 00:15:44.07\00:15:45.77 I'm talking about the whole wheat stuff 00:15:45.81\00:15:47.81 and with the nuts and all of these 00:15:47.84\00:15:49.81 different types of grains. 00:15:49.84\00:15:51.18 And but however, the bread was so good, 00:15:51.21\00:15:53.75 they would charge premium prices on it. 00:15:53.78\00:15:56.08 Let me explain what I mean. 00:15:56.12\00:15:57.45 Six, seven dollars a loaf of bread. 00:15:57.49\00:16:00.19 So I said, "Man, do you buy this bread, 00:16:00.22\00:16:01.82 you can make it yourself." 00:16:01.86\00:16:03.19 He says, "Yeah, I buy it but I don't pay that price." 00:16:03.22\00:16:04.56 I said, "What do you mean?" 00:16:04.59\00:16:05.93 He says the day that they bake the bread and it's fresh, 00:16:05.96\00:16:08.26 everybody rushes the place and they're paying 00:16:08.30\00:16:10.43 and they're buying. 00:16:10.47\00:16:11.87 But he says, "What I do is, I wait two or three days after, 00:16:11.90\00:16:17.27 when everybody thinks that bread is not what? 00:16:17.31\00:16:19.54 Fresh anymore and I go and buy." 00:16:19.57\00:16:21.51 He says, "Man, the bakery is basically 00:16:21.54\00:16:23.88 giving the bread away and I'll pay may be a dollar, 00:16:23.91\00:16:26.92 may be two because they consider it old bread." 00:16:26.95\00:16:29.98 But do you see the message of God here, 00:16:30.02\00:16:31.89 God allows his healthy principles 00:16:31.92\00:16:34.39 to be accessible to everybody. 00:16:34.42\00:16:36.02 Not just those who could have four, five dollar worth 00:16:36.06\00:16:38.59 or loaf of bread, even a poor man 00:16:38.63\00:16:41.16 can buy that for a dollar. 00:16:41.20\00:16:42.53 And he gets them in a best way. 00:16:42.56\00:16:43.90 But forget about buying it for somebody else. 00:16:43.93\00:16:45.83 We're gonna make our own today. 00:16:45.87\00:16:47.77 And we're gonna make not just any bread, 00:16:47.80\00:16:49.74 we're gonna make some good old, corn bread. 00:16:49.77\00:16:52.31 So let's go through the recipe here real quick, 00:16:52.34\00:16:54.34 really simple and easy to make. 00:16:54.38\00:16:56.28 One and one half cup of cornmeal, 00:16:56.31\00:16:59.81 one half cup of whole wheat or unbleached flour, 00:16:59.85\00:17:03.52 one half cup of cane sugar, 00:17:03.55\00:17:06.25 three quarter tea spoon of sea salt, 00:17:06.29\00:17:09.89 one cup of water, 00:17:09.92\00:17:11.26 two table spoons of coconut milk 00:17:11.29\00:17:13.03 and one half cup of oil. 00:17:13.06\00:17:16.83 Really simple and easy, everybody can do this. 00:17:16.87\00:17:19.70 A matter of fact, I think you already have 00:17:19.73\00:17:21.07 the ingredients in your home. 00:17:21.10\00:17:23.24 Just go ahead and check that pantry. 00:17:23.27\00:17:24.61 I already put it out here, really simple 00:17:24.64\00:17:26.07 and easy for you all. 00:17:26.11\00:17:27.44 So let's just go ahead and knock this out. 00:17:27.48\00:17:29.21 We have the corn meal here, fantastic, 00:17:29.24\00:17:32.28 we used to make this thing called corn meal porridge 00:17:32.31\00:17:35.62 or corn meal dumpling. 00:17:35.65\00:17:37.69 I don't know if you all know what I'm talking about. 00:17:37.72\00:17:39.05 My mom is from Trinidad, so we know how to get down 00:17:39.09\00:17:41.09 with some of those things. 00:17:41.12\00:17:42.46 And you take the corn meal there. 00:17:42.49\00:17:43.93 Then you take what? 00:17:43.96\00:17:45.76 You take your whole wheat flour, 00:17:45.79\00:17:47.13 you mix that in there. 00:17:47.16\00:17:48.60 Really, simple and easy or a flour of your choice. 00:17:48.63\00:17:52.33 If you wanna use spelt, go ahead, try that. 00:17:52.37\00:17:54.47 Hey, try some thing new, then you're gonna take that, 00:17:54.50\00:17:57.51 the cane sugar here. 00:17:57.54\00:17:59.21 Now this is just not regular sugar. 00:17:59.24\00:18:00.78 This is not brown sugar. 00:18:00.81\00:18:02.14 Lot of times we use sugar and it's not really, you know, 00:18:02.18\00:18:04.58 they say, "Oh, brown sugar is good for you." 00:18:04.61\00:18:06.15 Well, do you know what really brown sugar is? 00:18:06.18\00:18:08.38 It's basically white sugar with a little bit of 00:18:08.42\00:18:10.35 molasses extract or just molasses 00:18:10.39\00:18:13.12 and that's what brown sugar is. 00:18:13.15\00:18:14.52 So make sure you get the cane sugar, 00:18:14.56\00:18:15.89 the crystals whatever you can find is good enough. 00:18:15.92\00:18:18.46 So you mix that there, then you take your salt 00:18:18.49\00:18:22.23 as we see here the sea salt. 00:18:22.26\00:18:23.83 Make sure that mixes properly too 00:18:23.87\00:18:26.63 because one day you'll be eating your corn bread 00:18:26.67\00:18:29.97 and you get a salty bite if you don't do it properly. 00:18:30.01\00:18:32.61 So you mix that all there together 00:18:32.64\00:18:34.61 and then the rest of piece of cake, we have the what? 00:18:34.64\00:18:36.95 The oil, we'll pour the oil in. 00:18:36.98\00:18:40.78 Preferably you can use the light, tasting olive oil. 00:18:40.82\00:18:46.45 Some people use a different types, 00:18:46.49\00:18:49.49 canola or... but your choice. 00:18:49.52\00:18:52.13 I'd like to stick with olive oil. 00:18:52.16\00:18:53.50 That's what the Bible talks about, 00:18:53.53\00:18:54.86 I'm just gonna keep it simple. 00:18:54.90\00:18:56.23 I'm gonna pour in the water as well, as about how much? 00:18:56.26\00:19:01.10 About a cup, okay. 00:19:01.14\00:19:03.27 So I'm gonna pour that there, I mean, mix it a little bit. 00:19:03.30\00:19:05.94 You just get it going. 00:19:05.97\00:19:07.31 This is a cool little item that you can have 00:19:07.34\00:19:09.24 the kids involved in as well and this is actually 00:19:09.28\00:19:12.48 a healthy one and one of the last ingredients 00:19:12.51\00:19:16.48 is your coconut milk, 00:19:16.52\00:19:20.16 two table spoons of coconut milk. 00:19:20.19\00:19:22.92 Now lot of people are also thinking, 00:19:22.96\00:19:24.89 they say, "Wait a second, all right. 00:19:24.93\00:19:26.83 I notice you didn't add 00:19:26.86\00:19:28.50 another ingredient into this mixture." 00:19:28.53\00:19:30.93 And I say, "What did I not add?" 00:19:30.97\00:19:32.30 They say, "You didn't add the baking powder 00:19:32.33\00:19:36.54 or the baking soda or something of that nature." 00:19:36.57\00:19:40.54 Now watch this, corn bread 00:19:40.58\00:19:42.31 doesn't really use yeast, right? 00:19:42.34\00:19:44.28 So it needs something to kind of cause it to rise. 00:19:44.31\00:19:46.88 So what many people use is what? 00:19:46.92\00:19:49.88 Baking powder or baking soda. 00:19:49.92\00:19:52.49 Now I wanna encourage people to start reading 00:19:52.52\00:19:55.06 and start studying because this may be something 00:19:55.09\00:19:57.06 that would cause a problem 00:19:57.09\00:19:58.69 and we don't wanna do that, why? 00:19:58.73\00:20:01.10 This baking soda, baking powder and AKA, sodium bicarbonate, 00:20:01.13\00:20:05.40 when it hits the system, it causes actually 00:20:05.43\00:20:07.94 what is known as inflammation. 00:20:07.97\00:20:10.07 Inflammation, now I don't know, yeah, I don't want information. 00:20:10.11\00:20:13.38 What happens is because it's a sodium bicarbonate, 00:20:13.41\00:20:16.14 that base or whatever your body has to digest food 00:20:16.18\00:20:19.21 at a certain Ph level, right? 00:20:19.25\00:20:22.12 So when you add this baking soda, 00:20:22.15\00:20:24.22 it is baking powder. 00:20:24.25\00:20:25.59 It adjusts that Ph, inflammation takes place 00:20:25.62\00:20:29.06 and now the body cannot begin to digest and like it wants to, 00:20:29.09\00:20:32.29 it has to get that Ph back to where it needs to ago 00:20:32.33\00:20:35.96 because, you know, it was changed by let's say, 00:20:36.00\00:20:38.83 the baking soda or baking powder. 00:20:38.87\00:20:40.44 So one thing that we encourage our clients to do when cooking 00:20:40.47\00:20:44.47 and making delicious food is hold off on 00:20:44.51\00:20:46.84 may be some of that baking soda or baking powder. 00:20:46.88\00:20:49.28 Actually when I go to the store, 00:20:49.31\00:20:50.65 even the helpful store 00:20:50.68\00:20:52.01 and I look at some of the ingredients, 00:20:52.05\00:20:53.38 as soon as I see baking soda, baking powder, 00:20:53.42\00:20:55.38 time out, I leave it alone. 00:20:55.42\00:20:57.32 One lady said, "Oh, man. 00:20:57.35\00:20:59.05 Nice, you don't know what you're talking about." 00:20:59.09\00:21:01.56 I said, well, give it a try yourself. 00:21:01.59\00:21:03.56 And she had what is known as acid reflux. 00:21:03.59\00:21:05.79 And she had it for numerous years. 00:21:05.83\00:21:07.20 So she went ahead and she held off on 00:21:07.23\00:21:09.56 using baking soda, baking powder 00:21:09.60\00:21:11.53 and within a couple of weeks time, 00:21:11.57\00:21:13.84 her problem by the grace of God with other adjustments 00:21:13.87\00:21:16.47 in her lifestyle was gone. 00:21:16.50\00:21:18.34 So I wanna encourage you to give it a try 00:21:18.37\00:21:19.71 but we are not done yet in our recipe. 00:21:19.74\00:21:21.31 So you take your nice, little batter. 00:21:21.34\00:21:23.21 I remember we used to make this, it was so good. 00:21:23.24\00:21:26.18 You take your batter and now I'm gonna bring it over here. 00:21:26.21\00:21:28.18 You just have a eight by eight dish and really simple. 00:21:28.22\00:21:31.12 People say, "Well, you need to grease the dish." 00:21:31.15\00:21:32.85 I already put enough oil in this thing, 00:21:32.89\00:21:34.92 it doesn't need any additional. 00:21:34.96\00:21:36.62 And you stick that there and you get that going. 00:21:36.66\00:21:40.36 Let me just move this out of the way 00:21:40.40\00:21:42.26 and just see here. 00:21:42.30\00:21:43.63 You remember this and we used to go like this 00:21:43.67\00:21:47.14 and lick it up and then done. 00:21:47.17\00:21:49.67 Viola, we're gonna take that. 00:21:49.70\00:21:51.04 We're gonna stick that in a oven about 300-325, 00:21:51.07\00:21:54.68 you decide what works best for you. 00:21:54.71\00:21:56.64 And everything else works there.
