Okay! 00:00:38.23\00:00:42.27 So let's get started... 00:01:12.90\00:01:14.67 Here we have collard greens that have been already chopped. 00:01:17.47\00:01:21.54 And what we're going to add is the olive oil, 00:01:22.98\00:01:26.11 Do you want the lemon juice? 00:01:27.62\00:01:29.35 The lemon juice. Okay 00:01:29.38\00:01:31.25 Let's take some salt. Okay 00:01:34.16\00:01:36.12 This is similar to the kale recipe you did before. 00:01:40.73\00:01:44.40 Yes it is, and what we're going to do is marinade it 00:01:44.43\00:01:46.97 so that we can break down the greens so that they're 00:01:47.00\00:01:50.84 digestible. 00:01:50.87\00:01:52.91 Okay, let's add some onions. 00:01:53.17\00:01:55.41 This is a good way to get your greens in. 00:02:00.12\00:02:03.02 You know, coming from the South, I love collard greens! 00:02:05.15\00:02:08.76 But I bet you cooked them, didn't you? Yes, for hours! 00:02:08.79\00:02:12.86 Well, eating collard greens raw is very healthy for you. 00:02:12.89\00:02:17.57 They're packed with nutrition. 00:02:17.60\00:02:19.73 Let's add some of the cayenne. 00:02:20.80\00:02:22.90 The cayenne gives it a little kick. 00:02:25.21\00:02:27.61 Also, cayenne is a good blood cleanser as well. 00:02:27.64\00:02:31.98 Yes it is, and because collard greens are a bit bitter, 00:02:32.01\00:02:35.48 we are going to add some maple syrup in here 00:02:35.52\00:02:38.75 to give it a little bit of a sweet taste. 00:02:38.79\00:02:40.96 And maple syrup isn't raw, but it's used quite frequently 00:02:41.09\00:02:45.09 in the raw community when they're doing different recipes. 00:02:45.13\00:02:48.50 I love all of the options that you have when you start 00:02:49.96\00:02:53.03 a raw diet. Yes 00:02:53.07\00:02:55.47 We will add the bell peppers in there. 00:02:57.11\00:03:02.48 Oh, that's going to be pretty! 00:03:02.88\00:03:05.55 That red and green together always pops! 00:03:05.58\00:03:08.72 And Evita, while I'm massaging this, can I get you to 00:03:08.75\00:03:11.49 go ahead and mince the garlic for me. Okay 00:03:11.52\00:03:15.76 Let's pick it out. Okay 00:03:19.43\00:03:21.73 And again, I love the smell of garlic! 00:03:23.53\00:03:26.50 Ummm, that's smells wonderful. Doesn't it? Yes it does. 00:03:26.70\00:03:31.44 Wait until you taste it. 00:03:31.47\00:03:33.24 Look at the color of that. Wow, it is beautiful! 00:03:35.64\00:03:38.41 Okay! 00:03:41.82\00:03:43.15 It can get a little messy as well, but it's still good. 00:03:43.18\00:03:47.86 Okay and there you have it, marinade collard greens. 00:03:48.42\00:03:53.09 The next recipe we're going to do is... 00:03:53.13\00:03:57.27 One of my favorites because, coming from the South, 00:03:57.30\00:04:00.07 I've always loved mashed potatoes, 00:04:00.10\00:04:01.90 but when I became raw, you know, you can't do the 00:04:01.94\00:04:04.44 mashed potatoes and also, you can't do white potatoes raw 00:04:04.47\00:04:08.28 because it's not really good for digestion. 00:04:08.38\00:04:10.35 So we came up with a recipe with mashed cauliflower 00:04:10.38\00:04:14.22 to resemble mashed potatoes. 00:04:14.25\00:04:16.12 Mashed cauliflower? Yes! 00:04:16.15\00:04:18.59 This is going to be interesting. Yes 00:04:18.62\00:04:20.69 And the ingredients for the mashed potatoes and chives are: 00:04:20.72\00:04:26.36 So let's begin our recipe... 00:04:47.32\00:04:49.08 So Evita, you're going to be making mashed potatoes 00:04:51.99\00:04:54.26 with cauliflower? 00:04:54.29\00:04:56.06 Yes, it's a good substitute for potatoes. 00:04:56.09\00:05:00.00 So this is 2 cups of cauliflower, 00:05:00.03\00:05:03.97 and we're adding soaked cashews because 00:05:05.10\00:05:07.97 cashews make it creamy like the regular mashed potatoes. 00:05:08.00\00:05:14.18 So we soaked them and rinsed them, 00:05:14.21\00:05:16.31 and we soaked them the night before. 00:05:16.34\00:05:18.18 We have our olive oil, lemon juice, 00:05:20.52\00:05:28.52 a half clove of garlic, minced, 00:05:30.89\00:05:34.16 salt, 00:05:35.66\00:05:40.10 and we're going to use 00:05:40.90\00:05:43.17 half of the chives and we're going to then garnish the rest. 00:05:44.87\00:05:49.34 So you're going to have to coax it along a little bit, 00:06:05.93\00:06:08.96 until it gets clean. 00:06:11.23\00:06:12.57 It's really looking like mashed potatoes! 00:06:12.60\00:06:15.17 It is SO delicious! 00:06:15.20\00:06:18.37 You have to work with it a little bit. 00:06:19.07\00:06:21.44 And the more you process it, the creamier it will get. 00:06:31.62\00:06:36.73 So I guess this is a great alternative 00:06:53.71\00:06:55.48 for us potato lovers. Yes it is. 00:06:55.51\00:06:58.58 So let's plate it. 00:06:58.61\00:07:00.68 Now, let's get the marinated collard greens. 00:07:06.19\00:07:11.53 We may need to add a little more water to it. 00:07:13.90\00:07:18.63 Let's just add a little more water 00:07:19.00\00:07:20.34 to make it a little more creamier. 00:07:20.37\00:07:23.04 Oh that's what was needed. Yes 00:07:25.77\00:07:29.31 Good! Yes! 00:07:37.29\00:07:39.65 Okay, we're ready. That's good stuff! 00:07:40.26\00:07:42.79 Let's get our marinated collard greens. 00:07:42.96\00:07:45.63 These two dishes go well together. Yes 00:07:48.40\00:07:51.07 It is very Southern! 00:07:51.10\00:07:54.24 And we have our collard greens and our mashed potatoes. 00:07:56.14\00:08:04.05 Wonderful! 00:08:09.32\00:08:11.99 That looks delicious! 00:08:12.02\00:08:14.32 You see, we still could have soul food and it could be raw. 00:08:16.42\00:08:21.56 Marinated collard greens and mashed cauliflower potato. 00:08:21.60\00:08:26.87 Have you ever left home and you got to work 00:08:35.41\00:08:38.38 or maybe school or something of that nature, 00:08:38.41\00:08:40.35 and you said, "Man, I forgot something." 00:08:40.38\00:08:42.95 Maybe it was your wallet, maybe you forgot your keys, 00:08:42.98\00:08:45.92 maybe sometimes you even 00:08:45.95\00:08:48.22 forget your kids, who knows - you never know. 00:08:48.26\00:08:50.33 But you forgot something and you have to like 00:08:50.36\00:08:52.39 literally turn around and go all the way back home to get it 00:08:52.43\00:08:55.63 because it's that important. 00:08:55.66\00:08:57.60 You never want to leave home without it. 00:08:57.63\00:09:00.24 This is also the same thing that applies to our lifestyle. 00:09:00.27\00:09:03.97 If we're looking to balance our blessings... 00:09:04.01\00:09:05.67 You remember, we never say anybody is fat or skinny. 00:09:05.71\00:09:07.88 Some are just over-blessed and under-blessed. 00:09:07.91\00:09:09.64 If you're looking to do that, if you're looking to get rid of 00:09:09.68\00:09:12.18 maybe some ailment that's afflicting you... 00:09:12.21\00:09:14.52 Or maybe if you're just looking to get back on track 00:09:14.55\00:09:17.42 and you want to feel good throughout the day, 00:09:17.45\00:09:19.09 then you should never leave home without your breakfast. 00:09:19.12\00:09:23.46 And that's why we decided to focus a whole program on this 00:09:23.49\00:09:27.00 because a lot of us are leaving home. 00:09:27.03\00:09:28.96 But the only problem is we're not turning around 00:09:29.00\00:09:31.07 and going back to get it. 00:09:31.10\00:09:32.43 We just continue to go throughout the day 00:09:32.47\00:09:34.44 missing that breakfast and we wonder why 00:09:34.47\00:09:37.21 sometimes that vending machine is just calling our name 00:09:37.24\00:09:40.14 like it's literally saying, "Hey Nyse, come here," 00:09:40.18\00:09:42.84 and you find yourself buying stuff and I know there's no 00:09:42.88\00:09:45.35 fruits in there, so you end up buying some junk food 00:09:45.38\00:09:47.78 they would say... and you find yourself 00:09:47.82\00:09:50.49 nibbling all day - just like, "I can't stop myself." 00:09:50.52\00:09:53.46 You know what, well really the problem is not 00:09:53.49\00:09:55.39 that you can't stop yourself, it's that the body is 00:09:55.42\00:09:57.66 literally forcing you because it needs something 00:09:57.69\00:10:00.40 to survive off of because we left home without breakfast. 00:10:00.43\00:10:03.87 I have never worked with anyone who was able to balance their 00:10:03.90\00:10:07.34 blessings, who was able to bring some of their ailments 00:10:07.37\00:10:09.60 under control or reversal or to get back on track 00:10:09.64\00:10:12.51 who has always skipped breakfast! 00:10:12.54\00:10:14.78 And it's something that we all do, 00:10:14.81\00:10:16.71 but it's causing major havoc in our lives. 00:10:16.75\00:10:19.65 As-a-matter-of-fact, if you've ever wondered why sometimes 00:10:19.68\00:10:21.45 you're just so agitated and irritated all the time, 00:10:21.48\00:10:24.79 maybe you didn't have breakfast. 00:10:24.82\00:10:26.19 And so our focus today is to go ahead and let's get 00:10:26.22\00:10:29.56 breakfast back on track and let's go ahead and share 00:10:29.59\00:10:33.23 this with other people as well. 00:10:33.26\00:10:34.60 So, we're going to look at a simple couple of recipes 00:10:34.63\00:10:38.20 to get started. 00:10:38.23\00:10:39.57 As-a-matter-of-fact, one of the first ones, 00:10:39.60\00:10:41.34 we always have breakfast, it's a nice little liquid item, 00:10:41.37\00:10:44.54 as you see, I have quite a few items here and it is milk. 00:10:44.57\00:10:48.28 Milk is crucial, as-a-matter-of fact, if you're like me, 00:10:48.31\00:10:52.08 I used to drink them by the gallons growing up, 00:10:52.11\00:10:54.78 and it's a valuable part of breakfast. 00:10:54.82\00:10:57.09 I know there are many options to milk... 00:10:57.12\00:10:59.05 There's cow's milk and now there's even soy milk, 00:10:59.09\00:11:02.42 and then there's even rice milk, 00:11:02.46\00:11:04.43 and now the big push is coconut milk. 00:11:04.46\00:11:06.43 Whatever milk it is, we always have to have it, 00:11:06.46\00:11:09.53 but what we find as well is when you buy it out there, 00:11:09.56\00:11:12.67 it will cost you a little bit more and, also, the situation 00:11:12.70\00:11:16.20 with like the cow's milk or different items like that, 00:11:16.24\00:11:18.17 we just want to find a balance because it has been 00:11:18.21\00:11:20.38 shown that it's related to allergies. 00:11:20.41\00:11:22.88 It's actually #1 on the list. 00:11:22.91\00:11:24.45 But, hey, no worries, if you want to get rid of those 00:11:24.48\00:11:26.58 sniffles and sneezes and stuff like that, 00:11:26.61\00:11:28.52 what we're going to do is we're going to share with you 00:11:28.55\00:11:29.95 another option if you don't have any allergies to nuts that is, 00:11:29.98\00:11:33.69 that you will enjoy and it's one of my favorite milks, 00:11:33.72\00:11:37.09 it's called the "banana nut milk," 00:11:37.13\00:11:40.20 and the recipe is really simple as follows: 00:11:40.23\00:11:42.20 Now, I know, everybody has that in your house, 00:11:57.38\00:11:59.71 if you don't, go get it because this is necessary. 00:11:59.75\00:12:02.52 If you learn how to make this milk, 00:12:02.55\00:12:04.12 it will literally change your life because you will 00:12:04.15\00:12:06.05 never have to buy it again, and we also talk about 00:12:06.09\00:12:08.39 economy when it comes to living a healthy lifestyle. 00:12:08.42\00:12:10.73 Everybody is always crying, "Ohhh, to live healthy 00:12:10.76\00:12:13.60 is so expensive," but this is not true. 00:12:13.63\00:12:16.06 When you're trying live healthy, if you have somebody else 00:12:16.10\00:12:18.60 making it for you, then they're going to charge you for it 00:12:18.63\00:12:21.17 premium, especially when they're organic and this and that. 00:12:21.20\00:12:24.21 But when you make it yourself, 00:12:24.24\00:12:25.57 it's literally the cheapest thing in town. 00:12:25.61\00:12:28.38 And so now, we're going to make our banana nut milk, 00:12:28.41\00:12:30.65 really simple and easy. 00:12:30.68\00:12:32.38 Actually, it's even cheaper than 00:12:32.41\00:12:34.95 buying soymilk and it's real simple. 00:12:34.98\00:12:37.35 All we're doing is take 1 cup of cashews. 00:12:37.39\00:12:40.09 These are raw, unsalted cashews. 00:12:40.12\00:12:43.43 Then we're going to take, as you remember 00:12:43.46\00:12:45.46 there in the recipe, 1 tablespoon of honey, 00:12:45.49\00:12:49.26 or if you don't have honey and if you have maple syrup, 00:12:49.30\00:12:51.37 fantastic - you can always improvise, 00:12:51.40\00:12:53.77 the only thing we'll say don't improve with is sugar. 00:12:53.80\00:12:57.57 And then we'll take just a little pinch of salt, 00:12:57.61\00:13:01.84 alright, watch the pinch now. 00:13:01.88\00:13:03.35 A lot of people, we like salt, but just a pinch. 00:13:03.38\00:13:05.81 Why are we adding salt to milk? 00:13:05.85\00:13:08.58 Really simple, many people will say, "Well, maybe because 00:13:08.62\00:13:10.75 of the flavor?" Yes, it does add flavor, 00:13:10.79\00:13:12.99 or maybe because it works as a preservative 00:13:13.02\00:13:15.42 which is crucial because when you make this milk, 00:13:15.46\00:13:18.09 it will last about 3 to maybe 5 days in the fridge, 00:13:18.13\00:13:21.23 but it never lasts that long. 00:13:21.26\00:13:22.93 And they say, "Why, why doesn't it last that long?" 00:13:22.96\00:13:24.90 Because you always drink it up before it's finished... 00:13:24.93\00:13:27.20 That's the first and second thing you have to make 00:13:27.24\00:13:28.57 a new batch, but it's so easy to make 00:13:28.60\00:13:30.17 you can make this every day. 00:13:30.21\00:13:31.54 And now we're going to go ahead and we're going to take 00:13:31.57\00:13:34.58 1 cup of water - this is crucial to not put too much water 00:13:34.61\00:13:40.85 but just to have enough. 00:13:40.88\00:13:42.22 It depends which type of blender you have. 00:13:42.25\00:13:45.45 You just want to put just enough so 00:13:45.49\00:13:47.72 it can get blended because if you put too much, 00:13:47.79\00:13:49.86 you'll never be able to blend it properly. 00:13:49.89\00:13:51.93 Then 1 nice banana, really simple and easy. 00:13:51.96\00:13:55.33 Now don't tell anybody about this, 00:13:55.36\00:13:56.83 this is new in town. 00:13:56.87\00:13:58.27 I know there's banana nut cereal; 00:13:58.30\00:14:00.27 I know there's banana nut cookies and stuff like that, 00:14:00.30\00:14:03.71 but when was the last time you ever heard of somebody 00:14:03.74\00:14:05.54 making some banana nut milk? 00:14:05.57\00:14:07.84 Well here's your opportunity. 00:14:07.88\00:14:09.51 Now we'll just close that real quick, 00:14:09.54\00:14:11.55 and we're going to blend it until it's nice and creamy. 00:14:11.58\00:14:13.78 Now you have to do it until you don't hear that 00:14:33.50\00:14:35.34 crackling sound and now we have banana nut not milk, 00:14:35.37\00:14:39.54 this is banana nut cream... 00:14:39.57\00:14:41.34 And do you see how creamy that is? 00:14:41.38\00:14:43.24 Let's see if I can get this on camera. 00:14:43.28\00:14:44.95 Look at that thing - whoops, that thing is amazing! 00:14:44.98\00:14:48.98 As-a-matter-of fact, you know how you do your fruit salads 00:14:49.02\00:14:51.32 and you normally put that kind of milk on top of it, 00:14:51.35\00:14:53.72 no need to do that because we know that milk is 00:14:53.76\00:14:55.82 condensed milk, it's loaded with sugar 00:14:55.86\00:14:57.49 causing all kinds of extra blessings and stuff like that. 00:14:57.53\00:15:00.26 Well, we don't have to worry about that because now 00:15:00.30\00:15:01.90 you can do the cashew nut or the banana nut milk. 00:15:01.93\00:15:05.60 Another way this is good... anybody like porridge? 00:15:05.63\00:15:08.64 You know, like hot cereal? 00:15:08.67\00:15:10.14 What makes that hot cereal taste very good? 00:15:10.17\00:15:12.24 The condensed milk or the milk that we put in it. 00:15:12.27\00:15:15.58 No excuse to do that anymore, you can actually make your own! 00:15:15.61\00:15:19.85 As-a-matter-of-fact, we did this for children, 00:15:19.88\00:15:21.65 and before we cooked for adults, 00:15:21.68\00:15:23.22 we cook for children - why? 00:15:23.25\00:15:24.59 Because their taste buds are still young and they can 00:15:24.62\00:15:26.82 appreciate simplicity and flavor. 00:15:26.86\00:15:28.56 They haven't had 20, 30, 40 years of sugar 00:15:28.59\00:15:31.16 and all of these other foods so they could appreciate it. 00:15:31.19\00:15:34.56 And we cooked for the children and they're our testers, 00:15:34.60\00:15:38.47 and so we asked and the children said, 00:15:38.50\00:15:40.00 "Yeah, we want to try porridge." 00:15:40.04\00:15:41.70 And so we made porridge for them and they were eating it. 00:15:41.74\00:15:44.77 Of course, we put a little more honey... 00:15:44.81\00:15:46.51 They were eating and eating it and I saw one child 00:15:46.54\00:15:48.84 go like this... he took his finger and he went 00:15:48.88\00:15:50.41 all the way around his bowl; 00:15:50.45\00:15:52.31 I said, "This passed the test," now I was ready for the adults. 00:15:52.35\00:15:55.68 So I know it tastes good I'm not even asking y'all 00:15:55.72\00:15:58.05 because the children told me. 00:15:58.09\00:15:59.59 Now what we'll do is we'll go ahead and we'll add 00:15:59.62\00:16:03.63 3 more cups of water right there... 00:16:03.66\00:16:10.20 And now a quick tip that you all can benefit from... 00:16:10.47\00:16:15.64 If you like whole milk, you add less water. 00:16:15.67\00:16:18.47 If you like skim milk meaning like lighter milk, 00:16:18.51\00:16:21.44 then you will go ahead and add more water, really simple, 00:16:21.48\00:16:25.85 and easy for everybody and then 00:16:25.88\00:16:27.38 we'll just mix this up real quick for you. 00:16:27.42\00:16:29.75 Quick question - Do I have to blend it for a long time? 00:16:38.36\00:16:40.36 No, because it has already been blended so all we're trying 00:16:40.40\00:16:43.10 to do is mix it and now we have our banana nut... 00:16:43.13\00:16:49.97 oh man, this is nice... 00:16:50.71\00:16:52.94 nice and thick! 00:16:52.97\00:16:55.74 Banana nut milk! 00:16:58.48\00:17:01.08 Really simple, easy, I know you all will enjoy it. 00:17:01.12\00:17:04.75 As-a-matter-of-fact, where's my cup? 00:17:04.79\00:17:06.15 I know if I had my cup here, I would have had some 00:17:06.19\00:17:07.79 right now and so you can definitely do that. 00:17:07.82\00:17:10.53 If you have a nut allergy, no problem. 00:17:10.56\00:17:13.03 It's real simple how to continue making this. 00:17:13.06\00:17:14.93 Instead of putting the cashews, you would go ahead and you'd put 00:17:14.96\00:17:17.67 cooked brown rice or even... 00:17:17.70\00:17:20.04 anybody ever heard of oatmeal? 00:17:20.07\00:17:21.44 You can make your own oatmeal just cook the 00:17:21.47\00:17:23.64 oats properly and take, what? 00:17:23.67\00:17:25.07 One cup, instead of the cashews, you'd put that. 00:17:25.11\00:17:27.74 Cashews are loaded with magnesium, 00:17:27.78\00:17:29.81 so a person who has high blood pressure, 00:17:29.84\00:17:31.58 it helps as a result to start to relax the muscles 00:17:31.61\00:17:34.92 and arteries so they have a gradual decrease 00:17:34.95\00:17:37.39 in their blood pressure, slowly but surely, 00:17:37.42\00:17:39.25 but let your doctor know what you are doing. 00:17:39.29\00:17:40.82 I remember one time when, one young lady, 00:17:40.86\00:17:42.96 she said, "It doesn't work 00:17:42.99\00:17:44.33 for my blood pressure." I said, "Why not?" 00:17:44.36\00:17:45.69 She said, "My blood pressure has been going up." 00:17:45.73\00:17:47.63 I said, "Why is that." She said, "I don't know." 00:17:47.66\00:17:49.63 I asked her, "How long have you been doing it?" 00:17:49.66\00:17:51.60 She said, "Well, this is my second day." 00:17:51.63\00:17:53.44 I said, "Okay, very good." 00:17:53.47\00:17:57.51 I said, "How long have you had this blood pressure for?" 00:17:57.54\00:18:00.21 She said, "20 years." I was like, "Oh my!" 00:18:00.24\00:18:01.84 At least give it a little extra time. 00:18:02.81\00:18:04.61 The body wants to know if you're tricking it 00:18:04.65\00:18:06.01 with a new diet or something of that nature. 00:18:06.05\00:18:08.18 So I said, "If you don't mind, 00:18:08.22\00:18:09.55 let's go a little prophetic on this..." 00:18:09.58\00:18:11.09 Every day in the Bible it was significant of what? A year! 00:18:11.12\00:18:16.69 So I told her, "If you had the problem for 20 years, 00:18:16.73\00:18:18.73 follow the plan for 20 days." And you know what happened? 00:18:18.76\00:18:21.73 After 11 days, her blood pressure came down; 00:18:21.76\00:18:25.37 she called the doctor, told him. 00:18:25.40\00:18:27.07 He told her to hold off, cut the medication in half, 00:18:27.10\00:18:30.21 and she followed doctor's instructions and now, today, 00:18:30.24\00:18:32.87 she is not taking any medication, 00:18:32.91\00:18:34.41 according to the doctor, and as a result, 00:18:34.44\00:18:36.78 no high blood pressure. 00:18:36.81\00:18:38.15 So simple things that you can do that will bring healing 00:18:38.18\00:18:41.28 to God's people and if a person is dealing with like 00:18:41.32\00:18:44.92 let's say, cholesterol, almonds is good 00:18:44.95\00:18:47.22 to lower the cholesterol. 00:18:47.26\00:18:48.59 So what kind of nut milk will we make here? 00:18:48.62\00:18:50.53 We'll make almond nut or banana 00:18:50.56\00:18:54.30 almond milk or something like that. 00:18:54.33\00:18:56.23 Apricots is good for the skin, so instead of banana, 00:18:56.26\00:18:58.83 you can put apricots in that. 00:18:58.87\00:19:00.50 And blueberries are good for the eyes. 00:19:00.54\00:19:02.40 Have you ever heard of blueberry milk? 00:19:02.44\00:19:04.01 Me neither, but hey, maybe you could try it. 00:19:04.04\00:19:06.17 It's just something new that came up today, 00:19:06.21\00:19:07.68 but it's not a secret, you can go ahead and use 00:19:07.71\00:19:10.08 that and share it with your friends. 00:19:10.11\00:19:11.45 And so the nut milks are the easiest thing to do, 00:19:11.48\00:19:14.38 and if they have an allergy, you can use the rice, 00:19:14.42\00:19:16.15 cooked rice or oats as well. 00:19:16.18\00:19:18.62 But we can't only have that milk there for breakfast. 00:19:18.65\00:19:21.42 We need something to go along with that - a nice cereal. 00:19:21.46\00:19:23.99 So our next recipe is one of my favorites. 00:19:24.03\00:19:26.33 It's called "crispy golden granola crunch." 00:19:26.36\00:19:29.26 And here it is... 00:19:29.30\00:19:30.70 The dry ingredients that you will have is as follows: 00:19:30.73\00:19:33.23 Now for the wet ingredients, all you need is: 00:19:55.96\00:19:57.59 Sea salt preferably. 00:20:07.80\00:20:09.50 Now don't play around with this recipe. 00:20:09.54\00:20:11.24 This recipe is dangerously good for you. 00:20:11.27\00:20:14.04 Why? Because it has so much vitamins and minerals 00:20:14.08\00:20:19.05 and so much fiber that it will keep things 00:20:19.08\00:20:21.48 moving along quite rapidly. 00:20:21.52\00:20:23.79 What we're going to do... 00:20:23.82\00:20:25.15 if you notice, it calls for whole grain oats and quick oats, 00:20:25.19\00:20:30.26 or just rolled oats and quick oats. 00:20:30.29\00:20:32.03 We like to mix it up a little bit because if you just 00:20:32.06\00:20:34.20 have the regular rolled oats, it will just be, you know, 00:20:34.23\00:20:38.27 just like rolled oats again, but if you add a little bit 00:20:38.30\00:20:40.80 of quick oats to it, it helps to give little clusters 00:20:40.84\00:20:44.37 and items of that nature so you have nice crispy clusters. 00:20:44.41\00:20:48.01 Now for me, I don't like dishes, so I like to try to do 00:20:48.04\00:20:50.88 everything in what I'm cooking at once, 00:20:50.91\00:20:52.85 so I'm just going to pour that into the same baking dish 00:20:52.88\00:20:55.98 that I'm going to use for this recipe. 00:20:56.02\00:20:59.75 So I pour the oats there, I have the mixed nuts, 00:20:59.79\00:21:02.96 I have some sliced almonds, I have pecans. 00:21:02.99\00:21:06.16 You choose your favorite. 00:21:06.19\00:21:07.60 Whichever one works best for you is fine. 00:21:07.63\00:21:10.97 So we have that there, we're going to mix that 00:21:11.00\00:21:13.84 up nicely, then we're going to add some of the coconut, 00:21:13.87\00:21:18.57 the shredded coconut, preferably unsweetened. 00:21:18.61\00:21:21.68 Coconut is amazing, it's excellent for the muscles, 00:21:21.71\00:21:25.05 and for the bones. 00:21:25.08\00:21:27.22 It's good for people dealing with back problems as well. 00:21:27.25\00:21:30.72 And, it is very nourishing! 00:21:30.75\00:21:32.99 A lot of people still think that coconut has cholesterol. 00:21:33.02\00:21:35.76 I don't know how because it doesn't. 00:21:35.79\00:21:38.13 It has zero cholesterol; it does have quite a bit of fat 00:21:38.16\00:21:41.53 which is actually helpful. 00:21:41.56\00:21:43.16 A lot of times, we go on this no-fat diet craze 00:21:43.20\00:21:46.17 and stuff like that when actually your body needs some 00:21:46.20\00:21:48.54 fat, but the fat that it's going to get is the good fat, 00:21:48.57\00:21:51.17 the ones from the nuts, as you see that we 00:21:51.21\00:21:52.71 just used here - the one from the coconut, 00:21:52.74\00:21:55.04 and items of that nature. 00:21:55.08\00:21:56.81 So you mix those items up properly and also the 00:21:56.85\00:22:00.28 whole grain flour, this is going to add that 00:22:00.32\00:22:02.62 lightness to it because you know, most granolas 00:22:02.65\00:22:05.65 that you'll find is very heavy, and it's a heavy hitter 00:22:05.69\00:22:10.09 so it's actually good, but this flour here will make 00:22:10.13\00:22:12.69 it nice and light for you so you'll enjoy it. 00:22:12.73\00:22:15.23 So we'll just mix those items up there and we're going to get 00:22:15.26\00:22:20.37 to the wet ingredients right now. 00:22:20.40\00:22:22.30 Now I know a lot of people are saying, "Well, salt is not 00:22:22.34\00:22:24.97 a wet ingredient - it's a dry ingredient. 00:22:25.01\00:22:28.61 Why did we put the salt into the wet ingredients? 00:22:28.64\00:22:31.05 A little rule of thumb anytime you're making these recipes... 00:22:31.08\00:22:33.82 If I were to take this sea salt and add it to this mixture here, 00:22:33.85\00:22:38.62 it probably wouldn't mix properly, so a little rule of 00:22:38.65\00:22:41.12 thumb is always take small, dry ingredients 00:22:41.16\00:22:44.39 such as the salt here and put them into larger wet 00:22:44.43\00:22:48.06 ingredients so when you mix them all up, 00:22:48.10\00:22:50.63 it gets proper distribution. 00:22:50.67\00:22:52.07 So when you put it in here, you mix it properly 00:22:52.10\00:22:54.24 because if you only put it in the dry ingredients 00:22:54.27\00:22:56.14 and you don't mix it properly, one morning you're going to be 00:22:56.17\00:22:58.07 eating your nice crispy, golden granola, 00:22:58.11\00:23:00.21 and you're just going to get a salty bite... 00:23:00.24\00:23:01.68 You're going to say, "Man, where did that come from?" 00:23:01.71\00:23:03.14 And it's because it probably didn't mix properly. 00:23:03.18\00:23:05.25 So you want to put it in the other wet ingredients 00:23:05.28\00:23:07.35 and let that dissolve a little bit there. 00:23:07.38\00:23:09.28 We are also adding that salt because of flavor, 00:23:09.32\00:23:12.05 and also works as a nice preservative even though 00:23:12.09\00:23:15.96 this doesn't have a problem. 00:23:15.99\00:23:18.06 Now we're also adding 1/4 cup of blackstrap molasses. 00:23:18.09\00:23:24.73 Now can somebody tell me why in the world are we adding 00:23:24.77\00:23:27.47 erhhh nasty, blackstrap molasses to granola? 00:23:27.50\00:23:31.34 Well this blackstrap molasses is loaded - I mean overloaded, 00:23:31.37\00:23:36.85 like overbooked with calcium, calcium and magnesium. 00:23:36.88\00:23:41.65 So it's actually good for you. 00:23:41.68\00:23:43.55 So as-a-matter-of-fact, in our program, we don't promote 00:23:43.59\00:23:45.95 the use of supplements and different items like that, 00:23:45.99\00:23:47.86 we just try to choose the food that has the vitamins 00:23:47.89\00:23:50.86 and minerals that we need and then we'll just eat those foods, 00:23:50.89\00:23:53.60 as simple as that! 00:23:53.63\00:23:54.96 And so that's why we added the blackstrap molasses to that. 00:23:55.00\00:23:59.30 And so a lot of people enjoy that and with so much calcium 00:23:59.33\00:24:02.20 you can imagine what that does for a person dealing with 00:24:02.24\00:24:04.67 osteoporosis and items of that nature. 00:24:04.71\00:24:09.08 So then we're going to add the honey to this as well. 00:24:09.11\00:24:12.58 Now I know it looks like a lot of honey, 00:24:12.61\00:24:15.35 but man, don't worry about it, you're not eating this 00:24:15.38\00:24:18.25 whole cereal at one time. 00:24:18.29\00:24:20.46 As-a-matter-of-fact, if you're by yourself, this cereal 00:24:20.49\00:24:22.79 like myself, it lasts for a month sometimes and so 00:24:22.82\00:24:26.33 don't worry about the honey that's being added, 00:24:26.36\00:24:29.26 but if you are diabetic and you want to watch out for the 00:24:29.30\00:24:32.00 sugar that is being used... no problem, 00:24:32.03\00:24:34.04 just cut back on that. 00:24:34.07\00:24:35.40 A lot of people use what is known as "agave nectar" 00:24:35.44\00:24:38.11 and different items which does not increase the sugar too much. 00:24:38.14\00:24:43.98 So you just mix those up properly. 00:24:44.01\00:24:45.75 If it's warm, that will work too. 00:24:45.78\00:24:47.35 And then you take that wet ingredient and add it 00:24:47.38\00:24:51.35 now to your dry ingredients. 00:24:51.39\00:24:53.49 All right, so you see that there we have the honey, 00:24:53.52\00:24:57.49 we have the molasses, the little pinch of salt there. 00:24:57.53\00:25:01.13 And you just mix this all up. 00:25:01.16\00:25:05.20 And you know why I'm not too concerned about the honey 00:25:05.23\00:25:08.00 and the molasses and stuff... is because if you ever 00:25:08.04\00:25:11.47 looked at how much sugar these cereals that we buy 00:25:11.51\00:25:14.98 from the store have, you will be shocked! 00:25:15.01\00:25:17.11 As-a-matter-of-fact, there are so many 00:25:17.15\00:25:18.48 ways that they put it in... 00:25:18.51\00:25:19.85 They put it in as regular sugar, then they put it in as 00:25:19.88\00:25:22.25 corn syrup, then they put it in as high fructose, 00:25:22.28\00:25:25.09 and you're like, "Man, how many times are you going to 00:25:25.12\00:25:26.96 add sugar to this cereal?" 00:25:26.99\00:25:28.32 But you know what, I don't want to complain because 00:25:28.36\00:25:30.33 that's why I used to like it and that's why we all love 00:25:30.36\00:25:32.39 these cereals that we buy from the store. 00:25:32.43\00:25:34.00 But now, you don't have to question that anymore 00:25:34.03\00:25:36.46 because you are making the cereal yourself. 00:25:36.50\00:25:38.87 You remember how we were talking about economy 00:25:38.90\00:25:41.44 where you can eat more and pay less? 00:25:41.47\00:25:43.87 This is how you do it, by making it yourself 00:25:43.91\00:25:46.71 and you don't have to worry about the problems, 00:25:46.74\00:25:49.01 recession and stuff will never affect you because 00:25:49.04\00:25:51.61 you did everything at home. 00:25:51.65\00:25:53.08 As-a-matter-of-fact, each family that has applied these 00:25:53.11\00:25:56.15 simple principles of cooking their own food, 00:25:56.18\00:25:58.89 making their own milks and different items like that, 00:25:58.92\00:26:01.22 do you know, it has been calculated that they will save 00:26:01.26\00:26:03.32 almost 4,500 U.S. dollars a year just from doing it. 00:26:03.36\00:26:07.70 Who could use about $4,500 in December? 00:26:07.73\00:26:10.47 I know y'all are raising your hand. 00:26:10.50\00:26:11.83 Let me put 2 hands - I could use about $4,500, 00:26:11.87\00:26:14.40 especially in December because everybody wants something. 00:26:14.44\00:26:17.04 And you can do that just by going ahead and starting 00:26:17.07\00:26:22.14 to make your own cereal. 00:26:22.18\00:26:23.71 Now this recipe, you can mix it with your hand 00:26:23.75\00:26:25.98 and different items like that or, as-a-matter-of-fact, 00:26:26.01\00:26:29.15 this is very good to have the children make, 00:26:29.18\00:26:31.05 and they will make a mess and don't spank them or 00:26:31.09\00:26:33.15 anything like that, let them learn how to cook 00:26:33.19\00:26:35.29 now at a young age... this is crucial, 00:26:35.32\00:26:38.16 so when they grow up, they don't think that the 00:26:38.19\00:26:40.03 cereal - if you ask some children, 00:26:40.06\00:26:41.46 "Where does cereal come from," they'll say, "The box." 00:26:41.50\00:26:43.40 And this is not true... now they will know cereal 00:26:43.43\00:26:46.17 came from my kitchen, the V.I.P. room, 00:26:46.20\00:26:48.44 I made it myself, I know how to do it and you will save them 00:26:48.47\00:26:51.57 a life of problems. Why? 00:26:51.61\00:26:52.94 Because you taught them how to cook. 00:26:52.97\00:26:54.74 Let them make a mess, let them have a good time, 00:26:54.78\00:26:57.05 and you will find that they will actually be more eager to 00:26:57.08\00:26:59.85 eat this than if you just made it yourself. 00:26:59.88\00:27:02.35 So go ahead and have a good time with the kids. 00:27:02.38\00:27:04.49 What you do with this recipe now 00:27:04.52\00:27:06.45 is you take this and you put this in the oven on low heat 00:27:06.49\00:27:09.99 at about 225 for about 2 hours because we want proper 00:27:10.03\00:27:14.10 cooking of those oats and I know we don't have 2 hours, 00:27:14.13\00:27:18.23 we barely have 2 minutes left, and so I went ahead and 00:27:18.27\00:27:22.30 prepared another batch and let me get that for you 00:27:22.34\00:27:24.47 as we wrap up here. 00:27:24.51\00:27:26.37 And I just went ahead and lined it up there with some nice 00:27:26.41\00:27:29.68 raspberries and we know you will enjoy this. 00:27:29.71\00:27:33.82 This is the crispy, golden granola that everybody 00:27:33.85\00:27:39.09 would enjoy - if you want to add fruits to it, 00:27:39.12\00:27:40.92 you can go ahead... just wait until you finish 00:27:40.96\00:27:43.16 before you add the fruits. 00:27:43.19\00:27:44.53 If you want to add raisins and cranberries, you can do that, 00:27:44.56\00:27:48.43 just don't bake it - wait until it's done 00:27:48.46\00:27:50.27 and then you can add that. 00:27:50.33\00:27:51.67 Go ahead and have it, enjoy it, you will have a blast, 00:27:51.70\00:27:54.97 and let me know how it works for you... go ahead! 00:27:55.00\00:27:58.47
