Something you may 00:06:16.25\00:06:19.72 not know is the accompaniment that you 00:06:19.85\00:06:22.12 heard in background she orchestrate of that, 00:06:22.24\00:06:24.57 Lillie Pan orchestrated that and compose that so she 00:06:24.72\00:06:28.07 was playing to her orchestrated music, 00:06:28.19\00:06:30.86 that's right, and it's amazing I tell, I have to, 00:06:31.15\00:06:33.45 I have to take a breath and so if I took too long to 00:06:33.67\00:06:35.70 come in those of you listening on the radio that 00:06:35.79\00:06:38.41 was not a mistake or by the radio station now we 00:06:38.55\00:06:40.96 just trying to regain my composer. 00:06:41.02\00:06:42.85 "Joyful, joyful, We Adore Thee." Thank you, so much 00:06:43.47\00:06:45.84 for getting us ready for the second hour of the program 00:06:46.43\00:06:48.72 about how you can turn your life around, but before 00:06:49.28\00:06:51.79 we go further I would like to introduce our additional 00:06:51.93\00:06:54.64 guest for the second hour of the program Carla 00:06:54.81\00:06:57.35 Roberts, good to have you here Carla. 00:06:57.49\00:06:59.23 Good morning, good evening. 00:06:59.72\00:07:00.69 And you're from Warroad is that in Minnesota, 00:07:00.90\00:07:05.78 Minnesota tell us about Warroad. 00:07:05.84\00:07:07.28 Well, it's a small community just a few miles from 00:07:07.75\00:07:10.69 the Canadian Border and we have, we have been 00:07:10.72\00:07:15.32 called a village in the past because we're small, 00:07:15.90\00:07:18.70 but it's a great community that have open arms to new 00:07:18.87\00:07:25.14 programs like Chip Wow! And also you have a Chip 00:07:25.21\00:07:28.07 on your shoulder right there. Yes, I do I'm very 00:07:28.10\00:07:30.11 proud to wear that. I'm a Chipper. I'm part of the 00:07:30.29\00:07:32.72 Alumni Group and a health facility the program the 00:07:32.84\00:07:35.30 Thief River Facility. Well, the only thing that you're 00:07:35.57\00:07:39.14 still in Thief River is a bad health. And you, you, 00:07:39.25\00:07:43.06 you still the bad health and replaced with good health, 00:07:43.26\00:07:45.02 right? Right. Because of some amazing terms 00:07:45.18\00:07:48.08 Warroad Thief River, is there any other thing that's 00:07:48.47\00:07:51.91 associated with that was up there? 00:07:52.10\00:07:53.46 Well, I nearby town is called Crookston. Wow! 00:07:54.14\00:07:57.93 So, but I will tell you, you guys have survived some 00:07:58.03\00:08:01.74 wonderful terrain, but the beauty of what, where you're 00:08:02.12\00:08:04.55 living is the Chip Program and what I like about this 00:08:04.61\00:08:08.23 you're both associated together, Marilyne tell us 00:08:08.39\00:08:11.06 how? Well, a gentleman by the name of Dean Hamlin 00:08:11.15\00:08:17.19 first learned about Chip by going and buying some 00:08:17.64\00:08:21.20 products at a mill called Natural Way Mills. 00:08:21.34\00:08:23.96 And he was introduced to the idea there he called me 00:08:24.41\00:08:28.42 and talked with me and said, you know, could you 00:08:28.45\00:08:30.94 come and do our program, but we were looking at a 00:08:30.97\00:08:33.83 distance of over 90 miles and considering that the 00:08:33.98\00:08:38.17 Chip Program is 16 classes as long. 00:08:38.29\00:08:41.32 I'm thinking I'm a woman with a family and I told 00:08:42.32\00:08:46.97 them it is just too far, I'm sorry. Dean didn't stop 00:08:47.02\00:08:52.49 there. He went back to his place of employment to a 00:08:52.70\00:08:56.49 group called Health Builders and it was there 00:08:56.62\00:09:00.71 that Carla Roberts heard about it. And Carla is not 00:09:00.97\00:09:05.71 one to just take know very easily and she emailed me, 00:09:05.95\00:09:10.96 we talked by telephone and she even came to visit 00:09:11.11\00:09:15.13 me on the soccer field when I took her daughter the 90 00:09:15.39\00:09:18.29 some miles to go play soccer and it was on the edge of 00:09:18.37\00:09:22.18 that soccer field as a sweaty little bodies were 00:09:22.21\00:09:25.31 running around us and our soccer balls were resuming 00:09:25.43\00:09:28.22 past our heads that Carla said, I, I told her again 00:09:28.45\00:09:33.21 I said, I'm, I'm sorry the distance is just prohibited 00:09:33.48\00:09:37.01 for me to be any fact of teacher and mom at the 00:09:37.12\00:09:40.13 same time. And she said, well what about Distance 00:09:40.23\00:09:43.59 Education? And I didn't know about Distance Education, 00:09:43.93\00:09:50.15 but I was out for a real journey of finding out about 00:09:50.78\00:09:54.35 it. So, we did some digging and some research and 00:09:54.39\00:09:58.52 it wasn't too long be for, we were hooked together 00:09:58.92\00:10:02.66 via interactive TV Carla on her end, we were and our 00:10:02.75\00:10:07.53 end Thief River Falls and it's been a really wonderful 00:10:07.64\00:10:12.83 relationship doing the Distance Education thing I 00:10:12.91\00:10:17.38 feel like I have gained a really precious friend. 00:10:17.41\00:10:19.67 Wow! That is amazing. And more than one precious 00:10:20.34\00:10:22.42 friend girl the entire Alumni Group out there 00:10:22.63\00:10:25.50 really, really special. And tell us about that Carla 00:10:25.87\00:10:28.33 I mean how do you do a Chip Program and Distance 00:10:28.36\00:10:30.92 Learning, tell us about that experience? 00:10:31.20\00:10:32.71 Distance Learning is using interactive television 00:10:32.88\00:10:35.49 and we, we are able to see each other, we're able 00:10:35.84\00:10:38.55 to talk to Marilyne, if our class has a questions, 00:10:38.60\00:10:43.04 medical questions, she can answer it there on the 00:10:43.13\00:10:45.28 television and we watched Dr. Hans Diehl via DVD. 00:10:45.47\00:10:51.43 Okay. And it's, it's just powerful to be able to 00:10:52.20\00:10:54.94 reached out the communities they don't have any access 00:10:55.06\00:10:57.54 to people like Marilyne, I don't like, I don't like to 00:10:57.65\00:11:02.89 hear the word "No" and. Carla it's a good thing 00:11:02.96\00:11:06.12 in this case. I mean there are many communities like 00:11:06.19\00:11:08.37 our small town Warroad that want to learn health 00:11:08.40\00:11:12.13 benefits and the best way that's possible and it's like 00:11:12.27\00:11:17.84 being in doctor's office we have taught a community 00:11:17.91\00:11:20.42 so much and we have long ways to go, but we're 00:11:20.60\00:11:22.58 getting that. Now, it's not possible yet to do taste 00:11:22.61\00:11:26.55 testing by Distance Learning. Now, and that's where 00:11:27.01\00:11:30.64 the energy and sparkle of Carla she is really the 00:11:31.14\00:11:35.24 driving for us behind what happens with food and 00:11:35.33\00:11:39.68 also that little extra personal touch with her 00:11:39.85\00:11:43.51 group up there, but she works really hard and she 00:11:43.68\00:11:47.25 has the motivation and the desire to see her community 00:11:47.38\00:11:53.32 changed. So, hats off to you Carla. Thank you. 00:11:53.60\00:11:57.31 Wow! It's an, you know, we, we want to really point 00:11:57.53\00:12:00.19 out that he who have people that are investing 00:12:00.28\00:12:04.30 themselves in the improvement of health on the 00:12:04.45\00:12:07.51 community level, they are doing this strictly as 00:12:07.54\00:12:10.27 volunteer. I mean this is a special gift and we just 00:12:10.68\00:12:15.27 want to acknowledge that, there is some three to four 00:12:15.43\00:12:18.16 hundred more of these volunteers group all over 00:12:18.40\00:12:21.39 country that we train in the Chip Program and trained 00:12:21.57\00:12:26.38 certified Chip leaders and these people then you know, 00:12:26.51\00:12:30.56 deliver this kind of a program you have some 00:12:31.81\00:12:35.00 help with DVD set or made a little bit too but, 00:12:35.11\00:12:38.25 it's really the personal touch the practical 00:12:38.56\00:12:43.06 application of the principles how do you 00:12:43.09\00:12:45.62 prepare a healthy breakfast, how do you do a good supper, 00:12:45.70\00:12:48.89 how, what do you do for thanksgiving, right these 00:12:49.28\00:12:51.90 are, there was a better question, yes, yes. And how 00:12:51.93\00:12:54.24 do you get into a walking program you know and 00:12:54.32\00:12:57.76 not just doing it forth two weeks, but staying with the 00:12:57.96\00:13:00.45 program, the accommodated structure and surrounding 00:13:00.54\00:13:04.15 people and serve like a warm emotional womb, 00:13:04.33\00:13:09.21 so they can grow at their own speed, that's a part 00:13:09.55\00:13:11.84 group. Yeah, without feeling that I have to do 00:13:12.05\00:13:14.59 this, no see you can do it, we help you, we have all 00:13:14.63\00:13:19.84 grown throughout ourselves and it becomes easier week 00:13:20.00\00:13:22.99 after week after week after week and your taste 00:13:23.14\00:13:25.71 that's began to adjust, isn't that right? Yes, 00:13:26.01\00:13:28.06 or so, so. And you know, you know the story of Tom 00:13:28.14\00:13:31.91 in your town there you know, Tom told us I didn't 00:13:32.49\00:13:36.17 like these kind of things and look what happened to 00:13:36.22\00:13:38.79 him, right? Now, he is becoming the, the poster 00:13:38.82\00:13:42.31 child of a Thief River Falls, isn't that about right? 00:13:42.49\00:13:45.97 That's about right and I'm glad you brought up 00:13:46.50\00:13:48.19 the issue of staff because I would like to show a 00:13:48.39\00:13:51.20 story of a very special staff member, his name is 00:13:51.40\00:13:54.71 Scott Russell and Scott was only 32 years old when 00:13:54.91\00:14:01.20 he first became exposed to Chip he visited our Chip 00:14:01.25\00:14:05.40 both at the fare and it was there he saw a DVD that 00:14:05.49\00:14:09.68 showed what a fatty meal can do to your blood and 00:14:09.99\00:14:14.02 he started thinking about his health and he had 00:14:14.05\00:14:17.80 someone very special in his life and we have a 00:14:17.87\00:14:20.15 picture of that someone and wisely Scott's wife 00:14:20.37\00:14:25.10 said, you know, Scott I think you should do Chip 00:14:25.20\00:14:28.12 for your son. There you have a picture Scott and 00:14:28.45\00:14:31.39 his son Carob here. Well, to Scott's credit he 00:14:31.44\00:14:35.52 listened to his wife, in her mind she is thinking, 00:14:35.63\00:14:39.01 umm, he has got some kind of bad eating habits 00:14:39.48\00:14:43.81 and he is putting down a little bit of weight and she 00:14:44.09\00:14:46.80 was concerned about him, but she said do this for 00:14:46.83\00:14:50.31 your son. So, here is young Scott coming into 00:14:50.37\00:14:54.86 the program, feeling like okay we can do this, 00:14:54.89\00:14:59.19 but he was shocked he found out that his cholesterol 00:14:59.78\00:15:03.31 was up; blood pressure was creeping up already at 00:15:03.34\00:15:07.32 his young age. He did not realize he was having 00:15:07.40\00:15:11.01 health issues, but that caught his attention he took 00:15:11.31\00:15:15.70 out a membership in an exercise place and he and 00:15:15.85\00:15:20.30 his son just had a ball, they get on the elliptical 00:15:20.43\00:15:23.63 and raise each other and it became not just a quest 00:15:23.76\00:15:27.06 for health, but it became a bonding time, okay so it 00:15:27.32\00:15:33.01 was a really beautiful experience and Scott tells 00:15:33.06\00:15:38.17 us that he didn't just learn what to do, he learn the 00:15:38.20\00:15:43.95 reasons why he should be doing things in the 00:15:44.20\00:15:47.68 Chip Program. And we have another picture of Scott 00:15:47.78\00:15:52.44 only it's not just Scott and Carob we have his beautiful 00:15:53.29\00:15:57.97 wife Tiffany on there and their new little baby 00:15:58.13\00:16:01.41 daughter Olivia. So, Scott is now doing this for his 00:16:01.64\00:16:06.49 young family plus he is faithfully on our Chip staff 00:16:06.70\00:16:11.97 time after, time after, time even the years when we 00:16:12.24\00:16:14.68 have had three Chip classes in a year that's giving up 00:16:14.85\00:16:19.01 16 evenings times three plus more to, to be in the 00:16:19.90\00:16:25.05 Chip Program so this man has helped himself by 00:16:25.20\00:16:30.22 helping hundreds of other people. 00:16:30.39\00:16:33.29 And that's a very important principle of the 00:16:33.90\00:16:35.79 life, isn't it? I mean you give and you get back. 00:16:35.94\00:16:41.07 Matter of fact I heard this thing I hope I get it right, 00:16:41.81\00:16:43.81 it says, life is not what you living is what you is 00:16:43.84\00:16:50.31 based on what you give back. Or something to that 00:16:50.47\00:16:54.02 affect life is receiving, living is giving something 00:16:54.22\00:16:57.13 to that affect and, and to simply put it together he 00:16:57.22\00:17:01.19 not only saw the benefit for himself, but for his son, 00:17:01.29\00:17:04.70 his new son and for his wife because what good 00:17:05.29\00:17:08.25 would it be to have a wonderful family, if you're 00:17:08.31\00:17:10.02 around to enjoy them. Exactly. Really wouldn't 00:17:10.34\00:17:12.54 make a difference and the other thing that I have 00:17:12.58\00:17:14.08 learned about the Chip Program and I'm hearing this 00:17:14.26\00:17:16.35 was a begin to glean, I'm a gleaner, is, is Chip 00:17:16.41\00:17:19.48 teaches you how to be a discerning sharper. 00:17:19.74\00:17:21.75 Yes, and that's one thing Scott said, he said we 00:17:23.23\00:17:27.34 learned how to go shopping, we learned things 00:17:27.77\00:17:30.80 about eating out how to make right choices there, 00:17:30.97\00:17:33.92 he, he is gonna cook, he, he can go and take care 00:17:35.86\00:17:41.21 of the mill and a Holsum Way whereas before our, 00:17:41.49\00:17:45.68 that were not have been. I think one other things to 00:17:45.99\00:17:49.82 about Scott that amazes me as I look at his story 00:17:50.29\00:17:53.61 he was young, he will felt in mortal, he didn't 00:17:55.25\00:18:00.20 not know that he had a need in his life and I 00:18:00.35\00:18:06.50 wonder how many young people are in the same boat. 00:18:06.67\00:18:09.74 Atherosclerosis does not need to necessarily wait 00:18:10.62\00:18:14.58 until the middle years or the later years of life to 00:18:15.03\00:18:18.44 sudden, am I right with that Dr. Diehl? 00:18:18.61\00:18:20.56 Yeah, we have see this now in ten year olds, 00:18:20.67\00:18:23.41 twelve years old and narrowing of the coronary 00:18:23.96\00:18:26.89 arteries already beginning so and now beginning to 00:18:27.03\00:18:30.09 think of coronary artery disease, which is response 00:18:30.31\00:18:34.02 for every third defend this country, begin to think 00:18:34.07\00:18:37.38 about this disease not as a disease of the geriatric 00:18:37.59\00:18:41.13 set the order the dignified people, but it's really a 00:18:41.37\00:18:46.13 pediatric disease it begins and some even now point 00:18:46.27\00:18:51.06 out it actually can begin in the womb depending on 00:18:51.14\00:18:55.58 how a mother eats. So, this is really now a very 00:18:55.74\00:19:00.22 progressive disease that begins with the time of 00:19:00.81\00:19:04.21 conception problem. It also as something else 00:19:05.99\00:19:09.43 to teaches you about water, sunlight, and hold 00:19:09.59\00:19:12.45 some food, it's just to show you how you right 00:19:12.74\00:19:16.03 on the knob on the nose who has been talks about, 00:19:16.09\00:19:18.09 how is impacting our society not just as an older 00:19:18.50\00:19:20.75 age, but a younger age one of the major television 00:19:20.87\00:19:23.75 that brought for children I will mention the, 00:19:24.06\00:19:25.48 the actual network, but they brought out there 00:19:25.89\00:19:28.48 programming for 3 to 4 hours one day during the 00:19:28.66\00:19:31.73 time of the day the children are most likely to be 00:19:31.80\00:19:34.53 at home watching this children's program and not 00:19:34.83\00:19:38.34 3ABN, but and they said, they encouraged by 00:19:38.50\00:19:43.57 announcing this to have all the children start to go 00:19:43.67\00:19:45.97 outside and play, which is something that's almost 00:19:46.20\00:19:49.05 the lost exercise in America. We think of all 00:19:49.23\00:19:51.75 the video games that keep you connected to the inside 00:19:51.87\00:19:53.74 of our house, they don't even open the windows and 00:19:53.81\00:19:56.99 children are become a carriage potatoes, 00:19:57.08\00:19:59.13 small potatoes like that growing up to be big 00:19:59.33\00:20:04.20 potatoes and so there is a need to began to make 00:20:04.27\00:20:07.05 a difference in the lifestyle and if, if I'm 00:20:07.08\00:20:08.87 thinking about it correctly Scott also had a decrease 00:20:09.00\00:20:11.63 in his cholesterol. Yes, he did and he dropped his 00:20:11.75\00:20:14.94 cholesterol almost 25 percent, so that was a big 00:20:15.19\00:20:20.19 drop and his, his LDL cholesterol were low normal 00:20:20.49\00:20:24.50 at 30 percent. You know, just to reinforce this as 00:20:24.53\00:20:28.91 a nurse you know, you know, medication can 00:20:28.94\00:20:32.17 bring cholesterol that was down too, yes, 00:20:32.35\00:20:34.41 but 20, 30 something's 40 percent, but here you 00:20:34.44\00:20:37.41 see a person there within 30 days because just 00:20:37.53\00:20:41.24 making some simple lifestyle changes how to 00:20:41.48\00:20:44.64 eat and drink and so on, brings cholesterol down to 00:20:44.84\00:20:47.77 the point, the medications no longer necessary, 00:20:47.90\00:20:50.73 right no more side effects, no more expenditures for 00:20:51.48\00:20:55.92 a medication, no more to worry about it possible 00:20:55.97\00:20:59.89 liver problems, right? He was really excited about 00:21:00.91\00:21:04.31 his results and I'm just gonna brag on him a little 00:21:04.38\00:21:07.98 bit more about when he decided to take class, 00:21:08.01\00:21:11.05 he didn't just come and take it alone, he also got 00:21:11.57\00:21:16.29 his parents talked into taking it, so now we have 00:21:16.48\00:21:19.41 a family network and they tell me that get in 00:21:19.44\00:21:22.91 together for special occasion is really a lot of 00:21:23.00\00:21:28.31 fun because they are doing it together and of course 00:21:28.54\00:21:30.97 his wife is really supportive of this whole 00:21:31.13\00:21:33.89 thing and she has learned vicariously through Scott, 00:21:34.02\00:21:36.72 so it's, it's a wonderful story. You know, that's a 00:21:37.26\00:21:40.75 very important point he have cross generation or change. 00:21:40.78\00:21:45.02 Right. Isn't it? And you also see that the lifestyle 00:21:45.39\00:21:48.68 is being part of a social unit, this is so important 00:21:48.71\00:21:52.89 you know, if only let say one person in the family 00:21:53.41\00:21:56.66 goes to the program to become so convicted we 00:21:56.75\00:21:59.52 need to do this, right, because real support I mean 00:21:59.66\00:22:02.31 you actually, you actually bring dissension to a family 00:22:02.40\00:22:05.92 instead of bringing unity and, and in this case what 00:22:06.30\00:22:09.19 a wonderful idea and that all need to bring Scott and 00:22:09.29\00:22:12.10 his kids and wife into it. The bonding that you're 00:22:12.38\00:22:15.30 talked about, but also now his parents are coming 00:22:15.42\00:22:18.27 in, so when they have their special dinners it's 00:22:18.50\00:22:21.92 easy, isn't it? We're on the same page. That's right. 00:22:21.95\00:22:24.98 We all want to be healthy, we want to be around. 00:22:25.01\00:22:26.62 That's right. Now, now Carla I want to get back to 00:22:26.99\00:22:29.29 you for a brief moment because you're not only 00:22:29.43\00:22:30.87 personal that helps facility that your programs, 00:22:31.17\00:22:33.23 but you're also a recipient a student of the program, 00:22:33.75\00:22:36.46 tell us about that I mean what were got you excited 00:22:36.54\00:22:39.75 about wanting to use that lifestyle or even adapted 00:22:39.88\00:22:43.63 that lifestyle. My husband side of the family has 00:22:43.66\00:22:48.50 a history of a lot of medicine and we just didn't 00:22:48.56\00:22:52.75 want to grow all the medicine and my side of the 00:22:52.86\00:22:55.83 family my mother had a stroke and it was so scary 00:22:55.95\00:23:00.13 to see people what we love so dearly go through 00:23:00.27\00:23:03.55 several health problems I mean heart attacks, 00:23:04.62\00:23:07.52 cholesterol you name it high blood pressure 00:23:07.62\00:23:10.22 everybody was seem to be just finding the part all 00:23:11.01\00:23:13.95 around us. Almost like his hereditary, Yes, but I 00:23:14.02\00:23:16.86 didn't like that, and didn't like hearing hereditary 00:23:17.02\00:23:19.78 because I felt there is not a hereditary then just 00:23:19.88\00:23:22.95 what's in our genes, alright, I, I just felt there 00:23:24.17\00:23:26.18 was small to it. And when we did our conference calls 00:23:26.25\00:23:30.34 and I learned more about Chip that was very excited 00:23:30.40\00:23:33.52 to bring it to Warroad. And I wanted to learn more, 00:23:33.55\00:23:36.49 I didn't have any problems, my husband didn't have 00:23:36.89\00:23:39.97 any problems, no at least bring anything we did, 00:23:40.03\00:23:42.76 okay we didn't have any high blood pressure 00:23:43.60\00:23:45.55 or anything yet in our family and but we knew 00:23:45.58\00:23:48.61 everyone else in our family did. Okay, many people 00:23:48.73\00:23:51.33 I mean brothers, sisters you know, lot of obesity 00:23:51.70\00:23:54.38 or lot of issues common western diseases. 00:23:54.41\00:23:58.44 So, we took the Chip Program together. 00:23:59.24\00:24:01.69 I asked him if he wanted to do it, he came back a 00:24:01.79\00:24:04.32 week later and said sure, I think there might be 00:24:04.45\00:24:06.93 something in it for me, so. Okay, so that's, 00:24:07.05\00:24:11.24 so the benefit it was not just for you learning how 00:24:11.34\00:24:13.68 to be a facilitated, but look at a more healthy 00:24:13.76\00:24:16.36 family, make a change within your own family 00:24:16.57\00:24:18.73 circle. Yes, okay. Now, John we have a short 00:24:19.00\00:24:24.68 video of a lady who took the class in Warroad, 00:24:24.91\00:24:28.99 Kathy Mosier is her name and we would like to 00:24:29.35\00:24:32.58 take a moment to look at that video now, 00:24:33.49\00:24:35.33 she has a compelling story to tell us from Warroad. 00:24:35.41\00:24:37.84 Arlight, let's do that. Yeah, I heard about the 00:24:37.87\00:24:41.82 Chip Program when I was listening to the radio. 00:24:41.93\00:24:44.07 Marilyne was talking about the upcoming Chip 00:24:44.62\00:24:46.49 classes and a gentleman had shared the positive 00:24:46.60\00:24:49.27 results he has had with the program, I came home 00:24:49.52\00:24:51.99 and told my husband about it and we felt maybe 00:24:52.08\00:24:54.48 I could benefit from it. During for that I have back 00:24:54.63\00:24:57.80 surgery that resulted in damage to nerves in my 00:24:58.01\00:25:00.49 legs. I was not permitted to start therapy for three 00:25:00.70\00:25:03.60 months when I was using a walker. When I did 00:25:03.70\00:25:06.91 started therapy, I'm like three times a week and I 00:25:07.24\00:25:10.16 get an additional five hours a day at home. 00:25:10.23\00:25:12.41 Nearly after a year ago, I was still need a cane to 00:25:13.18\00:25:16.85 walk. Otherwise I found I was in good health, 00:25:16.98\00:25:19.76 how could I not be. For over ten years I have 00:25:20.25\00:25:22.50 worked in nutrition and taken ongoing classes. 00:25:22.65\00:25:25.24 At home I had always cut the disable fats, 00:25:25.69\00:25:27.96 often the meat, I skinned the chicken I never 00:25:28.51\00:25:31.35 fried anything and I seldom ever eat a fast-food 00:25:31.57\00:25:35.79 place. We always make sure we had calcium in the 00:25:35.91\00:25:38.60 form of milk or cheese. We both find out for the 00:25:38.83\00:25:41.64 Chip Program. We had our Lab done and started 00:25:41.75\00:25:43.98 classes, those classes were real life, so much for me 00:25:44.10\00:25:47.66 thinking that we have been eating healthy and 00:25:47.76\00:25:50.24 when the results from my Lab came in it, proved it. 00:25:50.27\00:25:52.99 My blood pressure was a 148/80 and I was 00:25:53.60\00:25:57.00 shocked to learn with my cholesterol was 270, 00:25:57.09\00:25:59.80 my LDL was a 184 or over, I never dunk I have 00:26:00.06\00:26:04.27 those kind of numbers, I remember praying, 00:26:04.36\00:26:06.99 Lord I hope it's not too late to correct this. 00:26:07.40\00:26:10.00 I could just in vision stroke with an already 00:26:10.24\00:26:12.35 bad leg. We had no problem falling the jump 00:26:12.48\00:26:15.51 start eating program, I felt very energized and 00:26:15.67\00:26:18.74 can turn ten minute to learn to taking the classes. 00:26:19.01\00:26:21.90 A month after we started, the results from my 00:26:22.35\00:26:24.96 lab were astonishing. I had dropped 95 00:26:25.07\00:26:27.79 cholesterol points and my leg was stronger and 00:26:28.03\00:26:30.81 I no longer required a cane to walk. I continued 00:26:30.92\00:26:35.13 to eat a plant based high fiber diet. When I have 00:26:35.25\00:26:39.04 been with the program about a year I made an 00:26:39.10\00:26:41.37 appointment with my physician and have my 00:26:41.48\00:26:44.14 blood work done. My blood pressure is now 00:26:44.27\00:26:46.46 113/79 and my total cholesterol was 147, 00:26:46.80\00:26:51.65 in one year that's a drop of 123 cholesterol points, 00:26:52.09\00:26:55.67 106 of those points in bad cholesterol alone just 00:26:56.21\00:26:59.72 gone. I'm so thankful that I have started the 00:27:00.09\00:27:03.07 Chip Program. I know I can't be without it, 00:27:03.25\00:27:05.58 plus I have experienced no bad side effects that 00:27:05.97\00:27:08.18 I would have taking drugs, later on find the 00:27:08.37\00:27:10.75 money to buy those drugs. At our house was used 00:27:10.80\00:27:14.03 to joke about the same, praise the Lord and pass 00:27:14.07\00:27:16.71 the beans, but now it has a whole new remaining. 00:27:16.77\00:27:19.43 That's an amazing story Marilyne, I mean she 00:27:22.91\00:27:24.64 talked about things that she did right. 00:27:24.76\00:27:27.14 Not many people do things right. 00:27:28.10\00:27:29.38 Tell us more about her. 00:27:30.08\00:27:31.05 Well, I think the thing that caught Kathy's attention 00:27:31.76\00:27:35.25 was her problems following her back surgery 00:27:35.81\00:27:39.61 and let's bring up the picture right now Kathy 00:27:40.08\00:27:42.75 using the walker here she is she has been a vibrant 00:27:43.69\00:27:46.73 women and she is reduced now to having to use a 00:27:46.84\00:27:50.49 walker, in fact she was so ill and, and they were 00:27:50.75\00:27:54.50 so concerned about her damage leg that they 00:27:54.56\00:27:57.66 didn't later start therapy for a like three months 00:27:57.75\00:28:00.72 after her surgery, but then we will move onto 00:28:00.83\00:28:05.12 the next picture which is Kathy has now progressed 00:28:05.18\00:28:10.22 to using the cane. Is that heard in the blue thing? 00:28:10.61\00:28:12.88 Yes. Okay. She is there with some friends, 00:28:13.33\00:28:17.12 I think that's her family sorry Kathy, and she was 00:28:17.65\00:28:23.13 determined to try to keep on working on this, 00:28:23.39\00:28:26.03 but the doctor confirmed, look there has been 00:28:26.54\00:28:29.49 some peripheral nerve damage Kathy, 00:28:29.58\00:28:32.25 and I'm sure her heart sank when she got that news. 00:28:33.28\00:28:37.05 So, that was part of the surgical complication 00:28:37.59\00:28:41.71 then right? Yes. Some nerve damage which is 00:28:41.81\00:28:44.58 pretty much an alterable, isn't that? 00:28:44.74\00:28:47.54 Well, it's certainly not the kind of news you want 00:28:48.33\00:28:51.06 to hear, okay, and she there was part of the time 00:28:51.09\00:28:55.83 she had to have her leg lifted out of bed, 00:28:56.28\00:28:58.80 she would just drag her leg and she was 00:28:59.34\00:29:02.88 experiencing great difficulties, but then when 00:29:03.76\00:29:07.54 she heard the radio program and it happened 00:29:07.74\00:29:11.28 to be Tom Karnowski. Okay. And Kathy has now 00:29:11.44\00:29:16.05 met Tom because she is watching 3ABN. 00:29:16.18\00:29:18.93 I'm very sure up in, Warroad Minnesota, amen, 00:29:19.21\00:29:21.89 she is watching, she wondered, wonderful, 00:29:21.92\00:29:23.72 who this man was that she had heard on the radio. 00:29:23.95\00:29:26.81 So, here, here we're introducing them, 00:29:27.05\00:29:29.58 but Kathy as you heard need some significant 00:29:30.11\00:29:36.14 strides in her health and she went after Chip with 00:29:36.79\00:29:41.30 a vengeance she gave it her absolute best and to 00:29:41.60\00:29:46.18 drop 95 points in cholesterol in one month, 00:29:46.33\00:29:50.48 it is amazing, an amazing feat and let's just roll 00:29:51.57\00:29:55.15 in the last picture of Kathy with her husband Dale. 00:29:55.29\00:29:58.93 There is no walker. There is no cane. She is out 00:29:59.24\00:30:02.35 hoping through the woods in northern Minnesota, 00:30:02.53\00:30:05.42 that's amazing, and we're just really excited about 00:30:05.45\00:30:09.18 her story. And many 00:32:52.24\00:32:56.64 people they first sign that they have about 40 00:32:56.70\00:33:01.64 percent, isn't it Hans? 40 percent of the individuals 00:33:01.85\00:33:04.39 don't realize they even have Atherosclerosis tell 00:33:04.56\00:33:07.41 a heart attack takes them that is too late. 00:33:07.51\00:33:10.00 You know, when I talked to Tom, Tom said to 00:33:10.28\00:33:12.84 me, I felt great, youthful, strong that kind of 00:33:12.93\00:33:18.46 be within wrong with my heart, I said Tom you 00:33:18.60\00:33:22.34 cannot judge from the outside you have to worry 00:33:22.37\00:33:26.48 about the engine inside he said, tell me I said 00:33:26.52\00:33:30.21 you know, more people rushed out, they really 00:33:30.41\00:33:33.98 rushed out that they arteries are corroding then 00:33:34.33\00:33:38.27 then, people got wear out, and often times we don't 00:33:38.65\00:33:42.57 understand that Atherosclerosis is a 00:33:42.76\00:33:45.28 narrowing process of all of the vessels in our 00:33:45.38\00:33:47.83 system, it's a disease process that's begin early 00:33:48.02\00:33:51.25 and progresses unless we turn to foist it off, 00:33:51.46\00:33:55.36 of these causes how we eat, how we drink, 00:33:56.40\00:33:58.41 how we exercise, how will you love, you know, 00:33:58.96\00:34:02.14 wearing seat belts or just kind a lifestyle 00:34:02.81\00:34:04.84 issues. Marilyne I want you to tell the story about 00:34:05.13\00:34:07.20 Mike Roberts, it's an amazing story. 00:34:07.43\00:34:09.46 Well, it is an amazing story, but I'm thinking 00:34:09.94\00:34:12.87 maybe his wife sitting here we do a better job. 00:34:13.02\00:34:15.87 Would you like to do that or I will do. 00:34:16.43\00:34:18.11 Hey, hey, I think that were great segment, 00:34:18.14\00:34:20.31 that's a good, tells us about your husband Mike. 00:34:20.85\00:34:23.40 Well, Mike volunteered to take part in the program 00:34:23.89\00:34:26.27 which of course I was a static because I was 00:34:26.79\00:34:28.38 gonna do it, whether he did or not and to his 00:34:28.51\00:34:31.78 surprise when we went to the lab work, 00:34:31.91\00:34:34.45 his stat showed a cholesterol level of 200, 00:34:35.15\00:34:37.73 which most doctor saying think that's okay, 00:34:38.17\00:34:40.93 but as you learning the Chip Program that's 00:34:41.04\00:34:43.44 border line, it's not okay. And he had a lot of 00:34:43.47\00:34:46.76 other numbers that that came down and one and 00:34:47.00\00:34:49.66 particular his weight and that's just the side effect 00:34:49.72\00:34:52.74 of being in the program, but he went to the program 00:34:52.78\00:34:56.26 and he was very excited about all the new foods, 00:34:56.35\00:34:58.64 it's a great place to start if you don't cook 00:34:59.31\00:35:01.87 already because we teach you step-by-step, 00:35:01.97\00:35:05.06 you get a tasted, if you will like it, you go home 00:35:05.58\00:35:07.58 and go and try to make it, it's very simple and 00:35:07.62\00:35:11.45 when he finished the program his numbers went 00:35:11.48\00:35:13.56 down 28 percent, wow! His cholesterol went all 00:35:13.68\00:35:16.26 the day down to a 144 and remains there today. 00:35:16.34\00:35:19.74 And although the way just coming up slowly that's 00:35:20.52\00:35:22.83 okay, he is doing a great job at maintaining 00:35:22.96\00:35:25.77 you know, sticky met two miles a day of walking 00:35:26.54\00:35:29.17 and adding exercise daily that's was important, 00:35:29.46\00:35:32.69 those numbers can come down with small changes, so. 00:35:33.25\00:35:35.66 And a lot of times people see those numbers 00:35:36.39\00:35:37.93 immediately as Tom talk bout in a few weeks, 00:35:38.13\00:35:39.94 but you're talking about two years later, 00:35:40.06\00:35:41.69 he still maintained, doesn't it? Oh! Yes. 00:35:42.54\00:35:44.65 And you know, this is a very save approach when 00:35:44.91\00:35:47.77 you aim for one to maximum two pounds of extra 00:35:48.01\00:35:52.07 weight loss. You know, we don't want people lose 00:35:52.26\00:35:54.71 at access weight too fast, think about this, 00:35:54.93\00:35:57.49 if you lose weight too fast you know, I mean just 00:35:58.08\00:36:00.21 think the skin has to go somewhere, right? 00:36:00.44\00:36:02.42 am I right? It doesn't go quickly. It gets sometimes, 00:36:03.29\00:36:06.30 so it can observe itself properly. So, you don't 00:36:06.33\00:36:10.06 wanna took like a bass hound, you know, yeah. 00:36:10.09\00:36:12.18 That's a good one. So, so you see and so weight 00:36:14.78\00:36:16.85 loss like you're, you're describing with your husband 00:36:17.08\00:36:19.49 in one pound a week, yes, you know, this a great 00:36:19.54\00:36:22.42 way to go, if you have 50 extra pounds, 00:36:22.56\00:36:24.56 figure comes off a year, little come off gradually. 00:36:24.98\00:36:28.83 So, you still recognize yourself, you know, from, 00:36:29.43\00:36:32.28 from, day-to-day today. And we would like to roll 00:36:32.45\00:36:35.38 in now the picture of the Roberts family, so that we 00:36:35.41\00:36:39.28 can see Mike and their son and Carla and Mike said 00:36:39.45\00:36:45.83 to me he said, you know, I used to pay my attention 00:36:46.15\00:36:49.02 to the ghastly and I put in my track then if you will 00:36:49.58\00:36:52.33 like put in my own body, that's right, and I suspected 00:36:52.37\00:36:55.23 that has changed significantly. That's profound 00:36:55.26\00:36:57.76 we don't, we don't drive our cars up to the diesel pump 00:36:57.94\00:37:00.87 to put it in our regular gas tanks, we make sure and we 00:37:01.88\00:37:05.04 choose the octane very, very carefully we look at 00:37:05.20\00:37:07.91 our oil deep stick and make sure the types, which is 00:37:07.98\00:37:10.16 well but when it comes to eating, well we know the 00:37:10.34\00:37:14.17 story we're telling the story right now, but you 00:37:14.32\00:37:15.74 have some other amazing stories. That's right and 00:37:15.83\00:37:18.65 we're going to have Carla share Gloria Thomson's story 00:37:19.28\00:37:22.79 as well and we're going to take to look at Gloria 00:37:22.97\00:37:25.99 Thomson from by Baudette, Minnesota, 00:37:26.06\00:37:28.81 we have a picture of her to put on the screen. 00:37:29.40\00:37:31.55 Gloria, I'm join the Chip Program back in 2009 and 00:37:33.06\00:37:37.75 she was very excited because she was part of the 00:37:38.32\00:37:40.23 health builders, which is part of the company and 00:37:40.26\00:37:42.00 we work for it, so she just part of our initial pilot on 00:37:42.14\00:37:45.87 program and she, she wasn't able to get her 00:37:46.13\00:37:50.77 spouse on board with the program so she took it 00:37:50.99\00:37:53.18 herself and she was just amazed that how simple 00:37:53.29\00:37:59.23 it was and how she love the food and I know we're 00:37:59.30\00:38:03.00 studying that's sound like a broken record, but it's 00:38:03.19\00:38:04.96 true and tell you have tried it, you just can't 00:38:05.11\00:38:07.46 really appreciate the good taste in food. 00:38:07.68\00:38:09.43 Now, now Gloria was not without willing out first 00:38:10.20\00:38:15.05 she was during at kind of vengeance experiment and 00:38:15.63\00:38:17.86 just check it out and see if this would be something 00:38:18.09\00:38:20.28 good for other people and then when she heard that 00:38:20.42\00:38:23.86 it was going to impact some of her eating habits 00:38:24.10\00:38:27.25 she said, I was disagreed all about that for about 00:38:27.94\00:38:31.43 a week, until she started tasting food and that made 00:38:31.54\00:38:38.81 the difference for her, she realized this isn't like 00:38:38.84\00:38:42.37 going and chewing on cardboard. That's an 00:38:42.57\00:38:45.00 important because card, cardboard is not very tasty, 00:38:45.14\00:38:48.72 I shall I will say you not tasty at all. So, so food 00:38:49.57\00:38:52.24 preparation is another significant part of the 00:38:52.35\00:38:54.34 Chip Program, not just saying change what you're 00:38:54.46\00:38:57.87 eating. So many people think that, and I think that 00:38:57.90\00:38:59.78 Gloria and me have the same perception is if I'm 00:38:59.81\00:39:03.08 going to be healthy, it's got to be boredom. I have 00:39:03.11\00:39:05.78 got to just stuff it down my thrown, no matter 00:39:05.92\00:39:08.05 whether I like it or not, but that's not the case. 00:39:08.13\00:39:10.58 Absolutely not, we are thrilled to be able to 00:39:11.21\00:39:16.30 present some newly exciting recipes, but that 00:39:16.47\00:39:20.43 prove that comes as grown you learn your taste bites 00:39:20.65\00:39:24.66 are reeducated to really appreciate, oh, the suckling 00:39:24.83\00:39:29.99 goodness of a peach or a mango. 00:39:30.27\00:39:33.65 Oh! That's my language mango, yes that's my. 00:39:34.34\00:39:37.13 Yes, so Gloria's numbers started out at 279 for 00:39:37.16\00:39:42.98 cholesterol, she was really off the charts. 00:39:43.19\00:39:46.42 Now, if 200 border, 270 is way, across the border. 00:39:46.54\00:39:50.85 I even she was pretty shocked about that, yeah. 00:39:51.03\00:39:53.62 It was it, I opened for her then right. 00:39:54.14\00:39:56.00 Yeah, she started on the jump start, she, she want 00:39:56.03\00:39:59.31 to changes now and she started right away. 00:39:59.34\00:40:02.02 And she got changes 95 points down here. 00:40:03.18\00:40:06.54 Is that right? That's amazing, that's, that's a 00:40:06.57\00:40:09.87 huge drop. So, you said, broken record, but I want 00:40:10.00\00:40:13.17 to go ahead and emphasize this. A lot of times it's 00:40:13.24\00:40:15.96 my repetition that people finally get it who would this 00:40:16.07\00:40:19.45 program is not about facts and figures which is about 00:40:19.66\00:40:21.76 real people whose lives have been revolutionized. 00:40:22.03\00:40:24.90 Now, if we look at those numbers, if we just go 00:40:25.22\00:40:26.96 back and just the statistics with you, the numbers may 00:40:27.18\00:40:30.32 blur, but if we think about the lives that have been 00:40:30.47\00:40:33.61 changed the people whose we could have Tom 00:40:33.70\00:40:37.15 could have had a funeral on a long time ago. 00:40:37.95\00:40:39.52 All the takes for person who is renting heavy machine 00:40:39.77\00:40:42.24 and we lifting heavy weights with at 100 percent 00:40:42.27\00:40:44.96 blockage 98 and 99, 98, 95, and 90 percent 00:40:45.11\00:40:49.40 blockage we could have been telling Tom's story 00:40:49.46\00:40:52.38 about how Tom died from a terrible diet, 00:40:52.50\00:40:55.22 but we were able to show you tonight and what 00:40:55.48\00:40:57.33 we're saying in this program is not just all the 00:40:57.42\00:40:59.54 facts and figures and stats which are widely important 00:40:59.69\00:41:02.58 to understand, but those fact and figures and stats 00:41:02.73\00:41:05.47 are connected to individuals who could be in 00:41:05.50\00:41:09.05 a different category altogether, yeah, died at 00:41:09.10\00:41:11.45 33, died at 40, died at 49, died and left the family 00:41:11.67\00:41:16.08 of behind died and left the widow, but we're telling 00:41:16.11\00:41:19.27 the story about people who by simple methods, 00:41:19.30\00:41:21.86 but by a decision, you turn have made an impact in 00:41:22.67\00:41:26.69 their lives and their family is excited about that I'm, 00:41:26.72\00:41:29.84 I'm sure you're excited that your husband able to 00:41:29.95\00:41:31.41 changing in his life. Oh! Yes, we so badly don't 00:41:31.49\00:41:33.74 want to grow all the medicine, we, we really want 00:41:33.87\00:41:36.69 to have a long life without popping pills, 00:41:36.73\00:41:39.58 that's right, and we're, we're headed down that 00:41:40.05\00:41:41.55 road I mean I feel like about two years, but it's a 00:41:41.61\00:41:45.06 beginning for us and every time we teach the 00:41:45.12\00:41:48.28 Chip class it just gets more exciting. 00:41:48.41\00:41:50.49 So, when, when you talk about it could have been 00:41:52.59\00:41:57.53 Tom who met and I'm timely death I would like to 00:41:58.17\00:42:02.51 to just do right now into another story, may I do 00:42:02.55\00:42:05.85 that? Sure, go ahead and ahead. 00:42:06.08\00:42:07.05 We're gonna take a look at the Becky and Paul 00:42:07.87\00:42:11.66 Warroad, we have a photo of them be for Chip class 00:42:11.96\00:42:16.41 and Becky herself whereas had been told by the 00:42:17.05\00:42:22.50 doctor Becky in six months you will have your 00:42:22.86\00:42:27.89 first stroke and in a year you will have your first 00:42:28.11\00:42:32.54 heart attack. Now, this was not a stroke or a 00:42:32.77\00:42:36.20 heart attack, she was told this would be your first 00:42:36.58\00:42:40.16 one and what where is the problem she had very 00:42:40.44\00:42:44.67 high triglycerides and she was quite despondent 00:42:45.19\00:42:49.43 because she did not know what to do. She stared 00:42:50.38\00:42:55.45 on some cholesterol lowing medication and it just 00:42:55.56\00:42:59.37 wasn't during the trip for her. Besides that she had 00:42:59.52\00:43:03.96 terrible pain in her legs and joints from the 00:43:04.17\00:43:09.48 medication and she said, I decided them that a stroke 00:43:09.65\00:43:15.10 would be preferable to the pain that I have. 00:43:15.29\00:43:17.99 She could not even lie on one side because of the 00:43:18.91\00:43:22.40 pain in her hip, so this woman is really suffering, 00:43:22.58\00:43:26.88 really suffering and no hope inside, but then she 00:43:28.01\00:43:32.91 learned about Chip. And she gleans some nuggets 00:43:33.05\00:43:37.46 that turned her life around and an amazing drop 00:43:37.92\00:43:42.64 in triglycerides 183 points wow! From, 275 down 00:43:42.98\00:43:49.05 to 92 that's a 67 percent change in triglycerides, 00:43:49.13\00:43:53.94 she has no more pain in her legs, she has no more 00:43:55.22\00:43:59.42 pain in her hip, in fact she said, I can now lay on the 00:43:59.60\00:44:04.67 floor on my either hip and I don't have pain and 00:44:04.87\00:44:09.59 God has a special significance to Becky. So, 00:44:09.74\00:44:14.13 I'm, I'm so excited about the progress that she has 00:44:14.42\00:44:18.87 made. It reinforces the idea by numbers are important 00:44:19.04\00:44:23.24 to us, right? Like you mention the triglycerides 00:44:23.27\00:44:25.52 the blood fats they come down to your blood gets 00:44:25.55\00:44:28.97 kind of leaner, thinner and it nurture the tissues, 00:44:29.14\00:44:33.99 but it's a touch to human being. A human being 00:44:34.85\00:44:37.31 who couldn't lie down anymore without pain, 00:44:37.45\00:44:39.91 but now things have changed. Now, her husband 00:44:40.15\00:44:44.30 was in a bad way too. I love the picture that we 00:44:45.21\00:44:49.29 had up on the screen because Paul is an 00:44:49.46\00:44:52.06 auctioneer in his looking like he is in the mood 00:44:52.09\00:44:55.08 to go to a great job, I was an auctioneer and his 00:44:55.19\00:45:00.82 weight in 1996 was 240 pounds, he is a pretty 00:45:01.06\00:45:06.31 chunky follow at, at that weight and by 2004, 00:45:06.46\00:45:11.46 he has had three minor heart attacks and he also 00:45:11.87\00:45:16.77 has now a mechanical heart valve and that mechanical 00:45:17.25\00:45:21.45 heart valve was an assassinating that be beyond 00:45:21.62\00:45:24.43 blood thinner and what's happening is his blood is 00:45:24.70\00:45:29.48 so thick that he medication has been increased, 00:45:29.74\00:45:33.49 increased, increased, and he is having to have 00:45:33.94\00:45:37.40 to blood work done pretty while daily to monitor 00:45:37.51\00:45:40.80 him trying to get him to the point where his blood 00:45:41.05\00:45:44.11 is flowing there way it should be both of these 00:45:44.14\00:45:48.85 individuals are in bad shape, but they come to 00:45:48.96\00:45:53.86 Chip and they gave their and there are all and I 00:45:54.05\00:45:59.79 will tell you Paul needs some amazing progress, 00:45:59.82\00:46:03.57 he has lost to lot of weight, his cholesterol 00:46:05.34\00:46:08.87 has come down, it's now and enviable 131, 00:46:08.96\00:46:12.11 protein 217, his LDL and triglycerides, 00:46:12.76\00:46:17.41 his triglycerides had cut down to about a third. 00:46:17.70\00:46:20.72 And let's this time to look at Paul and Becky today, 00:46:22.21\00:46:27.10 they are happy couple, yeah that's amazing. 00:46:27.73\00:46:30.34 Paul is really a shadow of himself. 00:46:30.77\00:46:32.99 Is it the same person or where? 00:46:33.84\00:46:35.04 That is the same person, really, yes, so we're, 00:46:35.48\00:46:40.73 we're really happy now we do have Laurel 00:46:40.76\00:46:43.97 Johnson on the phone calling from the River Falls, 00:46:44.15\00:46:47.47 Minnesota. Wow! And we have a picture 00:46:47.67\00:46:50.05 of Laurel to put up, can we go ahead and Laurel. 00:46:50.08\00:46:54.68 Sure, Laurel, are you there. I'm here. 00:46:54.71\00:46:57.57 Okay, welcome to 3ABN, Thursday night live, 00:46:57.77\00:47:00.49 we're so glad, glad to have you and we want you 00:47:00.62\00:47:03.59 to tell your story, I tell you it's amazing what 00:47:03.64\00:47:06.63 we're hearing the testimonies that we're 00:47:06.72\00:47:08.03 hearing tonight, but you're one of those individuals 00:47:08.23\00:47:11.09 whose lives have been impacted by the 00:47:11.27\00:47:12.70 Chip program, tell us about that. 00:47:12.96\00:47:14.17 Oh! Yes, and thanks for having me and hello to 00:47:15.65\00:47:17.96 everybody there and Dr. Diehl tell your wife did 00:47:18.12\00:47:21.37 a great job, she does a piano for me, thank you, 00:47:21.40\00:47:23.23 thank you. Oh! My story I actually I tell to 00:47:23.44\00:47:27.80 people I came in the back door with this because it 00:47:27.83\00:47:31.71 was a friend of mine that really want to take the 00:47:31.78\00:47:33.53 class. She lived out a town about half an hour 00:47:33.81\00:47:36.70 way and really want to take the class to better 00:47:36.79\00:47:39.46 her health and want me to go within it was like 00:47:39.49\00:47:41.94 no and back and forth and finally it was well, 00:47:42.29\00:47:44.57 okay she won't me down, I'll do it. And I found 00:47:44.82\00:47:48.45 out that I had some really major health things 00:47:48.49\00:47:52.50 I going on there, I didn't know about I had high 00:47:52.54\00:47:54.67 cholesterol, I had high glucose, so I was in the 00:47:54.76\00:48:01.22 guide better green even when we took the first 00:48:01.37\00:48:03.13 blood drawn and after the one month class, 00:48:03.42\00:48:07.48 the number themselves so dramatically I couldn't 00:48:09.18\00:48:11.01 have you believed it accept I did live through 00:48:11.05\00:48:13.03 the program and then I'm here to tell you about 00:48:13.15\00:48:14.92 it, so yeah it was, it was very good have done a 00:48:14.95\00:48:19.75 program. And the Chip program, how did you hear 00:48:19.97\00:48:23.68 about the program? I had heard about it in town and 00:48:23.77\00:48:27.99 it was in the news papers and also heard about 00:48:28.02\00:48:33.15 some Marilyne itself and ascended me Marilyn, 00:48:33.30\00:48:35.18 they did not have a really good and do the class 00:48:35.30\00:48:37.10 or not, but it was really this friend that said he 00:48:37.17\00:48:41.30 please bear with me and so it's because of a 00:48:42.13\00:48:44.94 friend, I read a lot of benefits. Now, what about 00:48:45.25\00:48:48.98 the stat that Chip program, how do they treat you? 00:48:49.09\00:48:51.26 Oh! Really well, it can't go and for feeling like Oh! 00:48:52.22\00:48:59.24 No, God really judge me, I'm over weight, 00:48:59.27\00:49:02.57 I have all these bad numbers from my blood 00:49:03.28\00:49:05.42 screen, but we were actually clearly welcoming 00:49:05.52\00:49:09.81 very aggressive and treated each of those with 00:49:10.69\00:49:13.64 a lot of kindness and respect, okay, and but I 00:49:13.72\00:49:17.01 really gotten whole thing like from the get go 00:49:17.38\00:49:19.46 that, being with down on church they would like 00:49:19.61\00:49:22.47 okay we're glad you're here and this was a 00:49:22.69\00:49:26.26 starting point. Are, are there any other benefits 00:49:26.30\00:49:28.97 beside just the change in the numbers that you 00:49:29.09\00:49:31.54 have experienced? Yeah, I would say that my 00:49:31.61\00:49:35.64 motive status because and a man be started over 00:49:35.88\00:49:38.29 depression, but how the program is not just be 00:49:38.60\00:49:43.52 eating the whole food, the whole grains getting 00:49:43.61\00:49:47.09 hydrated, but also exercising and I think those 00:49:47.12\00:49:51.45 three components together helped in lifting 00:49:51.71\00:49:54.62 my mood. Well, that's amazing. 00:49:54.68\00:49:57.38 You know, in our Chip program clinical research 00:49:57.48\00:50:01.26 we found that 71 percent of the Chip participants 00:50:01.53\00:50:06.25 who came into the program clinically depressed 00:50:06.77\00:50:08.79 left within four weeks, they're longer being 00:50:09.32\00:50:12.32 depressed 71 percent recovery from depression 00:50:12.44\00:50:16.69 short term, this is very exciting and this was part 00:50:17.15\00:50:20.45 of a doctor dissertation and looking at the, 00:50:20.53\00:50:24.92 the effect of a lifestyle change program on 00:50:25.74\00:50:28.37 depression, but this lady is saying is apparently 00:50:28.44\00:50:31.51 right on, I mean this is what we can see in a 00:50:31.77\00:50:34.59 general fatter weight.
