You're gonna have 00:02:24.21\00:02:25.18 more energy and you're gonna look better, 00:02:25.19\00:02:27.04 dare I say after tonight's program. 00:02:27.32\00:02:29.24 We've got some great guests, 00:02:29.25\00:02:30.23 Nancy and Wendy Gable, mother and daughter; 00:02:30.72\00:02:36.38 right, good looking young ladies and each 00:02:36.39\00:02:40.06 of them have a very, very, just fantastic story. 00:02:40.07\00:02:44.25 We just been sitting around talking a little 00:02:44.26\00:02:45.81 bit and you will get to know of them 00:02:45.82\00:02:47.12 better in just a little bit but they have a 00:02:47.13\00:02:49.44 really great story. Now I need 00:02:49.45\00:02:50.45 to do something. Hans because the last time 00:02:50.46\00:02:52.96 you were here, a lady called me 00:02:52.97\00:02:55.03 from Arkansas, just outside the 00:02:55.04\00:02:57.57 Little Rock and she was quite irate, 00:02:57.58\00:02:59.63 because she said you didn't give me enough 00:03:00.46\00:03:03.35 time to get my pencil and paper ready, 00:03:03.36\00:03:06.48 and she said once Hans Diehl starts talking 00:03:06.49\00:03:09.26 that's yes just for two hours he never 00:03:11.22\00:03:12.66 stops talking. So she was really, 00:03:12.67\00:03:14.00 really upset because she said you got to give 00:03:14.01\00:03:16.70 people time to get their pencils and papers 00:03:16.71\00:03:18.17 because they don't always know that you 00:03:18.18\00:03:20.88 are coming until they see you. 00:03:20.89\00:03:22.27 So we're gonna take 10 seconds, 00:03:22.43\00:03:24.53 Mary from just outside little rock for you to 00:03:24.86\00:03:27.66 get your pencil and your paper and your note book 00:03:27.67\00:03:30.46 and anybody else who's got pencil or a paper 00:03:30.47\00:03:33.34 they need to get or you need to boot your 00:03:33.35\00:03:34.69 computer or your iPad or your iPhone or 00:03:34.70\00:03:36.87 your iPod or I, anything 10 seconds 00:03:36.88\00:03:40.54 get your materials because once we start 00:03:40.55\00:03:42.53 we're gonna be rolling and you know how fast 00:03:42.54\00:03:44.07 this guy moves so I'm gonna give you 00:03:44.08\00:03:45.88 10 seconds starting now. 00:03:45.89\00:03:48.41 Redeemed, how I love to proclaim it! 00:03:51.75\00:03:54.02 Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb; 00:03:54.03\00:03:56.70 Redeemed through His infinite mercy, 00:03:56.71\00:04:00.09 His child, and forever, I am. 00:04:00.10\00:04:03.07 Redeemed, redeemed, 00:04:03.08\00:04:06.55 Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb; 00:04:06.56\00:04:08.56 Okay time is up. It has been a very 00:04:23.91\00:04:26.35 special privilege to be part of this movement 00:04:26.36\00:04:28.90 to empower people to make some lifestyle 00:04:29.71\00:04:33.29 changes to establish better health habits and 00:04:33.30\00:04:36.58 the process have better lives, 00:04:36.59\00:04:39.47 healthier lives, less depression, 00:04:39.48\00:04:42.76 less heart disease, less high blood pressure, 00:04:42.77\00:04:45.71 less medication, just a new freedom. 00:04:45.72\00:04:47.92 Yeah, yeah, you can't, you know less is more, 00:04:47.93\00:04:50.93 yes right, isn't it, it more light. 00:04:51.48\00:04:52.85 So, we're gonna be talking about CHIP 00:04:53.58\00:04:55.22 this very night and you will be encouraged 00:04:55.23\00:04:59.15 I dare say when you hear this testimonies 00:04:59.16\00:05:01.13 and hear what the good doctor has to say. 00:05:01.14\00:05:02.68 Now we have a little surprise to you because 00:05:02.69\00:05:04.54 I didn't tell you that your wife is gonna 00:05:04.55\00:05:06.99 bring special music, oh, you did 00:05:07.00\00:05:08.34 not ask for this. No I think, 00:05:08.35\00:05:09.44 and this is like Solomon when the Lord said I 00:05:09.45\00:05:11.85 will give you what you did not ask for. 00:05:11.86\00:05:13.86 Well that's a treat; that is a treat. 00:05:15.67\00:05:17.62 But our music this night comes from Hans's lovely 00:05:18.26\00:05:21.23 wife Lily Pan Diehl and just an excellent pianist, 00:05:21.24\00:05:25.65 and she is going to be playing 00:05:25.66\00:05:27.09 "Oh God Our Help In Ages Past". 00:05:27.28\00:05:30.22 And praise the Lord well done. 00:08:41.23\00:08:42.82 Your wife is a very accomplished pianist. 00:08:42.83\00:08:45.81 I am a lucky man. Indeed I think got 00:08:46.32\00:08:47.86 to keep her. We want to talk 00:08:47.87\00:08:53.11 to you about our free offer for the evening, 00:08:53.12\00:08:55.90 which is the Clinton Health Crisis. 00:08:56.75\00:08:59.51 It is a magazine that we will send to you and 00:08:59.52\00:09:05.18 good doctor tell us just a little bit about this 00:09:05.19\00:09:07.58 magazine and what it talks about? 00:09:07.59\00:09:09.71 You know president Clinton had heart disease, 00:09:10.74\00:09:13.77 he had surgery and after several years 00:09:15.21\00:09:20.69 as happens often, there is more surgery 00:09:20.70\00:09:23.81 needed and so he had two stents being placed 00:09:23.82\00:09:26.69 and his physicians mentioned to him 00:09:27.57\00:09:31.28 there is not much you can do about it. 00:09:31.29\00:09:33.27 Heart disease is a progressive disease 00:09:33.28\00:09:35.30 once you've heart disease it just continues, 00:09:35.87\00:09:38.12 the narrowing continues, there is not much you 00:09:38.13\00:09:39.86 can do and he asked the question can I stop 00:09:39.87\00:09:42.79 this progressive disease, the nature 00:09:42.80\00:09:45.51 of the disease. They said no, 00:09:45.52\00:09:47.01 it's just the way it is, and so we then wrote a 00:09:47.02\00:09:49.85 special article here several of us are concern 00:09:49.86\00:09:53.25 about this because we know that if you 00:09:53.26\00:09:57.09 make some lifestyle changes you can actually 00:09:57.10\00:09:59.93 change the progression of disease. 00:09:59.94\00:10:01.66 You can stop it, you can actually 00:10:01.67\00:10:02.83 reverse it. And so the article, 00:10:02.84\00:10:05.87 the magazine says a teachable moment was 00:10:05.88\00:10:09.13 lost in that the president was not really made 00:10:09.14\00:10:11.95 aware of what he could do, but he started this 00:10:11.96\00:10:14.90 thing on himself and as you know or just last 00:10:14.91\00:10:17.29 year he announced that he had adapted a 00:10:17.30\00:10:21.09 whole food program partly because you wanted 00:10:21.10\00:10:25.45 to please his daughter at the wedding, 00:10:25.46\00:10:27.76 yes, so he lost some 25 pounds and at the same 00:10:27.77\00:10:31.14 time he said I learned that the evidence is very 00:10:31.15\00:10:34.13 clear out there that you can actually reverse 00:10:34.14\00:10:36.78 this disease process and I'm gonna to 00:10:36.79\00:10:38.49 do this for one year check it out. 00:10:38.50\00:10:39.84 So that was a very enlightening moment 00:10:40.61\00:10:42.80 for all of us. Yes indeed. 00:10:42.81\00:10:44.05 So should you want to get this magazine 00:10:44.30\00:10:46.62 and this is, this is a good thing 00:10:46.63\00:10:47.90 to have in your house something to read 00:10:47.91\00:10:49.54 you can email us at freeoffer@3abn.org 00:10:51.20\00:10:56.87 that's freeoffer@3abn.org or call us this very 00:10:56.88\00:11:01.00 night (618) 627-4651 use either of those 00:11:01.01\00:11:04.99 two means and we will get this in 00:11:05.00\00:11:06.90 the mail to you. Org, 00:11:25.34\00:11:29.28 and we will put this in your hands. 00:11:29.29\00:11:30.49 Good doctor we need to launch out we've got 00:11:30.50\00:11:32.96 two very lovely ladies here, 00:11:32.97\00:11:34.36 mother and daughter, who I am told are fairly 00:11:34.37\00:11:39.10 recent Adventists, we'll talk about that 00:11:39.11\00:11:41.46 also but it was the health message that sort 00:11:41.47\00:11:44.46 of drove them to Adventism and 00:11:44.47\00:11:46.80 I'll put it in your capable hands for the 00:11:46.81\00:11:48.72 next few minutes. Oh, well Nancy tell us, 00:11:48.73\00:11:52.57 where do you live and how did you become 00:11:52.58\00:11:55.65 involved in the CHIP Health Concepts? 00:11:55.66\00:11:59.90 Okay, I live in Northern Western Illinois, 00:12:00.50\00:12:04.34 little town in the Mount Carroll and the 00:12:05.13\00:12:08.10 Adventist church in Savanna Illinois nearby 00:12:08.92\00:12:12.27 town gave a prophecy seminar and my husband 00:12:12.28\00:12:17.08 and I decided to attend the prophecy seminar we 00:12:17.09\00:12:19.72 were always interested in prophecy, 00:12:19.73\00:12:21.55 "The Book Of Revelations" 00:12:21.56\00:12:22.99 and that. So we attended 00:12:23.00\00:12:24.82 the prophecy seminar we were very impressed 00:12:24.83\00:12:27.00 with what we were learning, 00:12:27.01\00:12:28.07 studied follow, did a followup study 00:12:29.24\00:12:31.44 with Book of Revelations again very impressed 00:12:31.45\00:12:34.81 with what we were learning and then the 00:12:34.82\00:12:37.26 pastor said for our next study we can study one 00:12:37.27\00:12:42.46 of these topics and he named about four 00:12:42.47\00:12:45.30 different topics one of which was health. 00:12:45.31\00:12:47.45 I was very obese and interested in losing 00:12:48.45\00:12:51.63 the weight and I wanted to find a way to lose 00:12:51.64\00:12:54.74 the weight that would keep it off for the 00:12:54.75\00:12:57.61 rest of my life. I knew it needed 00:12:57.62\00:12:59.63 to be a lifestyle change, but I didn't really 00:12:59.64\00:13:02.50 understand or know what I, you know I heard 00:13:02.51\00:13:06.10 the terms but I didn't understand or really 00:13:06.11\00:13:08.40 know what a lifestyle change was. 00:13:08.41\00:13:10.24 Now you've to forgive me because the 00:13:10.25\00:13:11.44 reporter in me is coming out. Okay! 00:13:11.45\00:13:13.61 A couple of things, were you church 00:13:13.62\00:13:15.92 going person before? Not really, 00:13:15.93\00:13:18.34 I have been raised in a Christian home, 00:13:19.12\00:13:22.34 but as an adult it created problems in my 00:13:22.84\00:13:27.58 marriage and I had decided not to attend 00:13:27.59\00:13:31.54 church any longer. I still was very 00:13:31.55\00:13:35.89 interested in religion but I just I didn't find 00:13:35.90\00:13:40.17 a church out there that I could agree with 00:13:40.18\00:13:42.23 everything that was being taught. 00:13:42.24\00:13:44.07 So you've done some casual sort of research, 00:13:44.08\00:13:45.78 yes, yeah, yeah. And my husband 00:13:45.79\00:13:47.78 was a same way. He had not been 00:13:47.79\00:13:49.53 raised with any particular religion. 00:13:49.54\00:13:51.50 He had a strong belief in the Lord, 00:13:51.51\00:13:53.59 but again he didn't really understand or hadn't 00:13:54.95\00:13:59.53 found a church that he felt he could agree 00:13:59.54\00:14:03.19 with everything. And so we raised 00:14:03.20\00:14:06.17 our children without church as well, 00:14:06.18\00:14:08.30 but we had a strong believe in the Lord and 00:14:09.49\00:14:14.00 that he was working in our lives. 00:14:14.01\00:14:16.06 So I think we considered ourselves Christian, 00:14:17.49\00:14:20.71 but we just didn't follow any particular, 00:14:21.81\00:14:24.36 comer a nominal moral life but not 00:14:24.37\00:14:25.67 the religious. Right, right, yeah, 00:14:25.68\00:14:27.45 exactly, yeah, and didn't attend church. 00:14:27.46\00:14:30.66 So then what about Revelation attracted you, 00:14:30.67\00:14:32.63 giving that background? We felt that we, 00:14:32.64\00:14:36.25 my husband and I, had always felt that 00:14:36.26\00:14:39.08 we were being called to something that there was 00:14:39.09\00:14:43.28 going to be a world crisis at some point and 00:14:43.29\00:14:46.48 that in someway he and I were going to 00:14:46.49\00:14:48.92 be involved with it. We didn't know 00:14:48.93\00:14:50.98 what or how, but that was 00:14:50.99\00:14:54.62 something that brought us together in 00:14:54.63\00:14:56.20 our courtship, was this common 00:14:56.21\00:15:01.07 belief that we had, yeah, and we felt that God 00:15:01.08\00:15:04.60 brought us together and that's how our 00:15:04.61\00:15:07.79 marriage came about, yeah and I went on 00:15:07.80\00:15:10.93 that good doctor because I know there are lot of 00:15:10.94\00:15:12.96 people who tend of fall in the category of 00:15:12.97\00:15:14.64 something is happening something is going 00:15:15.17\00:15:16.72 on I don't know what, but I know it's gonna 00:15:16.73\00:15:19.12 effect me I just you know I don't have a 00:15:19.13\00:15:21.40 knowledge based I can feel that something 00:15:21.41\00:15:23.64 is happening, yes, so I better kind of look 00:15:23.65\00:15:25.62 and see what, what's going on 00:15:25.63\00:15:26.79 so I know when it hits me or before it hits me, 00:15:26.80\00:15:29.26 right, kind of prepare for, 00:15:29.27\00:15:30.24 and that's why we were interested in prophecy, 00:15:30.25\00:15:32.27 sure, and The Book of Revelations 00:15:32.28\00:15:34.35 because we knew that lined up with that, 00:15:34.36\00:15:37.38 that whole sense that we had, 00:15:37.39\00:15:40.08 yeah, now I gonna ask you, 00:15:40.09\00:15:42.28 you went through a prophecy seminar 00:15:42.80\00:15:44.14 Revelation did you buy it right away, 00:15:44.15\00:15:47.37 where you skeptical, I believe that everything 00:15:47.38\00:15:50.40 we were being taught was truth from the Bible, 00:15:50.41\00:15:52.85 what I wasn't sure of was whether it was the 00:15:53.65\00:15:56.98 whole truth whether there were things that maybe 00:15:56.99\00:16:00.25 we won't being told that we didn't word aware 00:16:00.26\00:16:03.92 of that the Bible said that the church was not 00:16:03.93\00:16:06.43 teaching us or showing us, and although we had 00:16:06.44\00:16:10.48 done a lot of Bible reading on our own 00:16:10.49\00:16:12.60 we didn't knew, we didn't understand 00:16:12.61\00:16:14.30 everything, sure. So there was still 00:16:14.31\00:16:16.96 there was this little nagging doubt in the 00:16:16.97\00:16:19.34 back of my head that, are they just leading us 00:16:19.35\00:16:23.09 down the path they want us to follow or are they 00:16:23.10\00:16:27.40 is there no alternative or motive here you know 00:16:27.41\00:16:30.89 that everything is just what they are showing us 00:16:30.90\00:16:34.31 and it's up to us to decide whether to 00:16:34.32\00:16:36.47 accept or not, I see. 00:16:36.48\00:16:37.79 So when we started the health study we started, 00:16:38.37\00:16:41.50 we studied health just health principles from the 00:16:41.91\00:16:45.23 Bible as well as the CHIP Lifestyle Principles, 00:16:45.24\00:16:48.72 and everything that was being studied was so 00:16:49.68\00:16:53.62 backed up with scientific evidence to prove 00:16:53.63\00:16:57.00 the correctness and truthfulness of it 00:16:57.01\00:16:59.35 plus we had the Bible verses that also backed 00:16:59.85\00:17:03.42 up everything that we were being taught. 00:17:03.43\00:17:05.63 Now was this a full CHIP program? 00:17:05.64\00:17:07.44 No this was not a full CHIP program this 00:17:07.45\00:17:09.92 is what who is now kind of term a MicroCHIP, 00:17:09.93\00:17:12.90 it's, it's a short reversion. 00:17:12.91\00:17:16.47 So you were introduced to the CHIP principles 00:17:17.52\00:17:21.86 by your pastor, right, 00:17:21.87\00:17:24.37 who was interested in the CHIP concepts, 00:17:24.38\00:17:26.57 correct, and of course 00:17:26.58\00:17:27.56 CHIP stands for Coronary Health 00:17:27.57\00:17:29.39 Improvement Project, it's nothing to do 00:17:29.40\00:17:30.74 with corn CHIPs or potato CHIPs, right, 00:17:30.75\00:17:32.70 chocolate CHIPs right. So your pastor was 00:17:32.71\00:17:35.89 interested in these principles of health as 00:17:35.90\00:17:38.66 apparently he found in the CHIP program, right, 00:17:38.67\00:17:41.31 and this happens often there are many pastors 00:17:41.32\00:17:43.60 and Baptist pastors, the Adventist pastors, 00:17:43.61\00:17:45.69 there are different people co-operations that 00:17:45.70\00:17:47.70 are looking for better health and they find 00:17:47.71\00:17:49.54 the CHIP program on the website and 00:17:49.55\00:17:51.55 so and so forth. So your pastor, right, 00:17:51.56\00:17:53.27 was interested in this principles and he 00:17:53.28\00:17:55.35 began to teach them into, yes, Bible studies, 00:17:55.36\00:18:00.02 we watched a some short videos about a half hour 00:18:00.03\00:18:04.94 a week plus we did lessons out of the 00:18:04.95\00:18:08.70 health power book which Dr. Diehl authored 00:18:08.71\00:18:11.66 that clinical authored, good Diehl, 00:18:11.67\00:18:14.02 so we've studied. Yeah I am learning 00:18:14.03\00:18:17.76 a lot base here. And, again though 00:18:17.77\00:18:22.18 everything was backed up with 00:18:22.19\00:18:23.49 scientific evidence, I had majored in biology 00:18:23.50\00:18:26.99 in college so I understood, you know the science 00:18:27.00\00:18:30.79 behind it and totally agreed with what that was. 00:18:30.80\00:18:34.39 So this stuff was making sense, 00:18:34.40\00:18:35.39 exactly yeah, and I started 00:18:35.40\00:18:38.33 applying the principles in my life. 00:18:38.34\00:18:40.96 I could see this was good, this was truth this 00:18:40.97\00:18:44.70 was sensible, and it fit all 00:18:44.71\00:18:49.65 the criteria I had for the lifestyle change I 00:18:49.66\00:18:52.64 wanted the criteria was when, 00:18:52.65\00:18:55.05 when I was looking for something okay I 00:18:55.06\00:18:58.35 was very overweight. I was obese and I knew 00:18:58.36\00:19:04.75 I needed to be a lifestyle change that 00:19:04.76\00:19:06.63 I could do the rest of my life. 00:19:06.64\00:19:07.99 I had tried some diets I had tried some different 00:19:08.70\00:19:11.49 things over the years to lose the weight. 00:19:11.50\00:19:13.57 I had lost some but then I always gain it 00:19:14.22\00:19:16.21 back and always more would come on after that. 00:19:16.22\00:19:19.34 So I knew it had to be something I could do 00:19:20.84\00:19:23.84 forever I couldn't go on something and then 00:19:23.85\00:19:26.04 go off because when I go off I can't go back 00:19:26.05\00:19:28.02 on and you know I don't stay what that loss. 00:19:28.03\00:19:33.44 You didn't want to do Yo, yo, right? 00:19:35.22\00:19:36.47 Exactly, exactly, you need to do 00:19:36.48\00:19:37.67 once and for all, and for a 00:19:37.68\00:19:40.89 permanent situation, right, but you also see 00:19:40.90\00:19:42.49 how clear this she was the finding what she 00:19:42.50\00:19:46.21 wanted to accomplish right, yeah, 00:19:46.22\00:19:47.95 not only in her religious quest, 00:19:47.96\00:19:49.77 but also now in her quest for weight loss program 00:19:49.78\00:19:53.96 right and so what did you find? 00:19:53.97\00:19:55.93 So some other criteria had in there besides 00:19:56.45\00:19:59.13 just I want to do it for permanent, 00:19:59.14\00:20:01.91 I didn't want to count calories, okay, 00:20:02.69\00:20:04.87 I didn't want to weigh and measure my food, 00:20:04.88\00:20:06.83 I didn't want to count carbohydrates. 00:20:07.61\00:20:10.20 You didn't want to little scales and put a 00:20:10.21\00:20:11.72 little in this kind of thing, 00:20:11.73\00:20:12.70 exactly, yeah, yeah, and I wanted to be able 00:20:12.71\00:20:15.08 to buy my food at regular grocery stores, amen, 00:20:15.09\00:20:19.00 so no specialized food; no specialized foods. 00:20:20.49\00:20:22.98 Okay, and everything we were being shown and 00:20:22.99\00:20:27.23 taught in these CHIP that's lifestyle 00:20:27.24\00:20:31.65 study and what we were learning from the 00:20:31.66\00:20:33.87 Bible all came together and met every one 00:20:33.88\00:20:37.12 of those criteria, and it was good 00:20:37.13\00:20:40.06 healthy full rich food. But some of the 00:20:40.60\00:20:46.20 church people would prefer some foods samples 00:20:46.21\00:20:48.62 and bring those for us to try out. 00:20:48.63\00:20:50.24 We were getting being given recipes from 00:20:50.71\00:20:53.20 a lot of different sources, 00:20:53.21\00:20:54.76 easy recipes, easy to prepare 00:20:54.77\00:20:57.54 things that I could do easily at home I was not 00:20:57.55\00:20:59.90 chef or you know any kind of great cook, right, 00:20:59.91\00:21:02.84 and in fact she could verify, 00:21:03.17\00:21:04.87 she definitely did not cook we were going out, 00:21:05.67\00:21:08.98 to say this is my dad all the way and you know 00:21:09.41\00:21:12.65 my dad and my siblings and I who did the cooking 00:21:12.66\00:21:14.78 and she was, she would do 00:21:14.79\00:21:17.73 anything but be in the kitchen. 00:21:17.74\00:21:19.79 I want to establish something here 00:21:20.66\00:21:21.73 then good doctor that the CHIP lifestyle is 00:21:21.74\00:21:25.13 not an austere sort of monastery 00:21:25.14\00:21:29.75 monastic existence. Oh, no, no it's fun. 00:21:29.76\00:21:32.47 I get one carrot you know and when I get 00:21:32.48\00:21:34.31 one single broccoli you know. 00:21:34.32\00:21:35.81 No no no, it's just the opposite, 00:21:37.63\00:21:40.65 praise the lord, we have a variety 00:21:40.66\00:21:42.54 of food, yeah, and the more color the 00:21:42.55\00:21:44.71 better it is and we help people to move into the 00:21:44.72\00:21:47.25 direction at their speed. 00:21:47.26\00:21:49.32 Yeah, some people already to go further 00:21:49.33\00:21:52.04 than the others, but we are right there 00:21:52.05\00:21:53.48 and we help them to understand something 00:21:53.49\00:21:55.12 about caloric density, did that make sense 00:21:55.13\00:21:57.29 to you the caloric density concept, 00:21:57.30\00:21:58.96 yes it does yes, because you have 00:21:58.97\00:22:00.33 a pretty heavy then aren't you? 00:22:00.34\00:22:01.68 I was 80 pounds over my wedding date weight, 00:22:01.69\00:22:05.09 really, yeah, is there a picture 00:22:05.10\00:22:07.91 that we have on that one, I believe we do, 00:22:07.92\00:22:09.69 can we look at that picture? 00:22:10.36\00:22:11.78 That was the before right, you know, 00:22:12.97\00:22:15.44 and that was actually after I had lost five 00:22:15.45\00:22:17.73 pounds trying something else. 00:22:17.74\00:22:19.60 This is, this is how my 00:22:20.73\00:22:22.36 mom weighed my whole life. This was the only way 00:22:22.37\00:22:24.98 that I've saw her, yeah, by whole childhood was 00:22:24.99\00:22:29.20 as a very large women and that's how pretty 00:22:29.21\00:22:31.55 much everyone in my family was. 00:22:31.56\00:22:32.98 So you've had a hard time kind of, 00:22:33.57\00:22:35.32 yeah I remember when I used to hug her, I would, 00:22:35.76\00:22:38.92 my arms were very open and I couldn't 00:22:38.93\00:22:42.30 really hug her, you were substantive 00:22:42.31\00:22:44.20 wasn't that, right, yeah. 00:22:44.21\00:22:45.47 So then you come to CHIP and you know something 00:22:45.98\00:22:48.08 about caloric density right, right, 00:22:48.09\00:22:51.73 was that eye opener? Yeah, because these foods 00:22:51.74\00:22:54.65 are all just loaded with vitamins and minerals 00:22:54.66\00:22:58.26 and there is the new term vital chemicals and 00:22:58.27\00:23:01.11 you know these kinds of things a lot of 00:23:01.83\00:23:04.43 different nutrients in these. 00:23:04.44\00:23:08.26 We think of it orange as having vitamin C 00:23:08.54\00:23:11.44 which it does, but it has a whole 00:23:12.25\00:23:14.53 lot of other nutrients that we generally 00:23:14.54\00:23:16.98 don't even talk about, but there are very 00:23:16.99\00:23:19.87 good for our bodies and the green leafy 00:23:20.61\00:23:24.01 vegetables and you know legumes and whole grains 00:23:24.02\00:23:29.17 all of these things have great nutrients for us. 00:23:29.18\00:23:32.44 Let me just kick in here, you know it is really 00:23:33.20\00:23:36.06 no surprise that Americans are struggling 00:23:36.07\00:23:38.51 with enlarging bodies, there is no surprise, 00:23:38.52\00:23:42.96 when you realize that over 50 percent of 00:23:42.97\00:23:46.58 our calories that we eat here in America are 00:23:46.59\00:23:48.59 coming from processed refined engineered foods 00:23:48.60\00:23:52.80 that come in crinkle bags, yeah, 00:23:52.81\00:23:54.97 that come in sterile form cut and just push 00:23:54.98\00:23:58.08 them into the microwave oven, yeah, 00:23:58.09\00:23:59.25 these are refined foods okay, 00:23:59.26\00:24:00.76 50 percent of all the calories come from this 00:24:01.19\00:24:03.18 source then you have another 40 calories plus 00:24:03.19\00:24:06.19 and these calories comes from animal 00:24:07.13\00:24:08.84 products like cheeses, dairy, meet, sausages 00:24:08.85\00:24:13.15 and so on and they are all very rich in calories 00:24:13.16\00:24:16.04 and only about 10 percent or less of the 00:24:16.05\00:24:19.10 calories that we eat comes from fresh fruits, 00:24:19.11\00:24:21.25 yes, vegetables, legumes, you know the beans 00:24:21.26\00:24:24.92 and whole grains. And, when you began to move 00:24:24.93\00:24:28.43 in the direction of eating these more refined 00:24:28.44\00:24:32.38 foods and animal products you always 00:24:32.39\00:24:34.77 concentrate calories, for instance, 00:24:34.78\00:24:36.84 now this looks very innocent 00:24:39.03\00:24:40.21 doesn't it this one, this little 00:24:40.22\00:24:41.55 nutrient scrods, yeah, I mean how long you 00:24:41.56\00:24:44.29 will take you to eat those, 00:24:44.30\00:24:45.27 about 10 seconds. You inhaled that right, 00:24:46.21\00:24:48.57 yeah and you eat only one. A box, yeah, 00:24:49.10\00:24:52.21 now you see right here you have 50 calories 00:24:54.30\00:24:58.21 and it takes you no time and it's gone, 00:24:58.82\00:25:00.64 just a very small volume but 50 calories which 00:25:01.21\00:25:04.25 is very not too bad when you think about it, 00:25:04.26\00:25:06.37 but if you would have real food I mean this is, 00:25:06.38\00:25:10.32 this is ought to, food that is 00:25:10.33\00:25:12.00 not to processed. This has been comes 00:25:12.01\00:25:14.08 in nature here you have also 50 calories and 00:25:14.09\00:25:17.59 this is 50 calories now you said you can just 00:25:17.60\00:25:19.87 inhale those in 10 seconds how about this? 00:25:19.88\00:25:21.95 Come on, that take it seconds 00:25:22.77\00:25:23.74 it's take longer, but you know 00:25:23.75\00:25:27.82 how to look is this, this is 50 calories 00:25:27.83\00:25:30.50 and this is 50 calories, and this 50 calories. 00:25:31.05\00:25:32.94 This is processed, yeah this is coming 00:25:34.03\00:25:36.07 out of the hand of the master designer, 00:25:36.08\00:25:38.40 and usually you said Diehl, 00:25:39.15\00:25:40.45 you get a glass of milks and now you got milk 00:25:40.46\00:25:41.90 and sugar combination, yes you know and 00:25:41.91\00:25:43.74 extra calories and fat and you're gonna 00:25:43.75\00:25:46.94 to eat six, ten maybe a box, 00:25:46.95\00:25:50.75 you never eat or succeed this, 00:25:51.36\00:25:52.94 and you know these are sometimes profound 00:25:53.89\00:25:56.80 a hard moments for people. You know like Nancy 00:25:56.81\00:26:00.30 she said you mean I can eat this much food. 00:26:00.83\00:26:03.11 I mean that can eat more and now then less, yeah, 00:26:03.12\00:26:05.63 exactly and then take a look at this one here. 00:26:05.97\00:26:08.27 Now you know this is about 1200 calories, 00:26:09.55\00:26:13.62 wow, this is come out from crinkly bag, yeah, 00:26:13.63\00:26:16.08 this is a processed food engineers for 00:26:16.09\00:26:19.19 taste high in salt, high in fat, 00:26:19.20\00:26:22.76 I mean this is what people eat right, 00:26:23.71\00:26:27.32 yeah and you can said on eat that many 00:26:27.33\00:26:29.36 in a sitting. Well I ask I 00:26:29.37\00:26:32.06 ask medical students how long does it take 00:26:32.07\00:26:33.63 you to eat this, these 1200 calories, 00:26:33.64\00:26:35.54 they said 13 minutes I said are you full, 00:26:36.03\00:26:39.01 no not then I said, how many calories 00:26:39.02\00:26:41.50 you having here? And they said we don't 00:26:41.51\00:26:44.81 know we don't take nutrition in medical 00:26:44.82\00:26:46.45 school they said, we don't take 00:26:46.46\00:26:50.18 nutrition in medical school. 00:26:50.19\00:26:51.63 I said, I said 00:26:51.64\00:26:52.61 this is 1200 calories this is 1200 calories, wow, 00:26:52.62\00:26:55.53 this is 11 medium size potatoes each 00:26:55.54\00:26:58.61 one is about a 110 calories I said 00:26:58.62\00:27:00.86 how long you will take to eat those, 00:27:00.87\00:27:02.02 this is at 13 minutes, 13 days. 00:27:02.03\00:27:05.06 So the principle here is you have more volume 00:27:07.57\00:27:11.19 you feel for, you have more fiber 00:27:12.08\00:27:15.24 you have more nutrition value and these foods 00:27:15.25\00:27:18.18 also cheaper than this there and I think 00:27:18.19\00:27:20.69 once you discover that and you know you can add 00:27:20.70\00:27:22.95 animal products because if really high fat or 00:27:22.96\00:27:26.31 usually very calorically dense small volume large 00:27:26.32\00:27:30.39 number of calories I think that probably helps 00:27:30.40\00:27:32.29 you to learn that you can eat more and 00:27:32.30\00:27:36.11 weight less right. That's correct, 00:27:36.12\00:27:37.59 what I was finding was that I really enjoying 00:27:38.61\00:27:41.59 these foods and I enjoyed cooking, 00:27:41.60\00:27:43.65 I mean you found me in the kitchen a 00:27:43.66\00:27:45.22 lot more chapping up chapping up the 00:27:45.23\00:27:48.86 foods and fixing things, and else you need what 00:27:48.87\00:27:51.00 you were doing, it was very easy to 00:27:51.01\00:27:53.21 fix these foods and a lot of times they could 00:27:53.22\00:27:56.92 be very simply prepared. I didn't have to 00:27:56.93\00:27:59.31 have special sauces or creams or anything like 00:27:59.32\00:28:02.43 that on them and they were nutritious 00:28:02.44\00:28:05.49 and delicious. I started having 00:28:05.50\00:28:08.16 a greater variety in the foods I ate and 00:28:08.17\00:28:11.55 my grocery bill went down, yeah. 00:28:11.56\00:28:13.57 I've gonna say what was the biggest change 00:28:13.92\00:28:16.54 as far as diet, what was the most 00:28:16.55\00:28:18.24 radical switch over from the pre-CHIP, 00:28:18.25\00:28:22.67 micro CHIP to the post micro CHIP? 00:28:22.68\00:28:25.39 Getting away from the processed foods that, 00:28:25.40\00:28:28.03 so you were eating processed foods, 00:28:28.04\00:28:29.43 eat absolutely and we have things out of bags 00:28:29.44\00:28:32.71 and boxes and you know and pull it out 00:28:32.72\00:28:35.38 the freezer you poppet in the microwave and 00:28:35.39\00:28:37.46 there is you got to meet, 00:28:37.47\00:28:38.44 for you big desert person, not a lot of deserts 00:28:38.45\00:28:41.58 I did do a lot of snacks and unhealthy snacks 00:28:41.59\00:28:44.32 the potato CHIPs, corn CHIPs candy, 00:28:44.33\00:28:48.08 candy is weighting diet. She was a, 00:28:48.09\00:28:51.23 she was addict, she was she was, 00:28:51.24\00:28:56.87 she eats pizza with extra cheese of 00:28:56.88\00:28:58.89 extra cheese on top, and you were shocked that 00:28:58.90\00:29:02.65 you learned that she is about 70 percent 00:29:02.66\00:29:05.05 fat is it, yeah, yeah I really was. 00:29:05.06\00:29:07.17 70 percent of calories, right, 00:29:07.18\00:29:08.91 and you also began to learn that the 00:29:09.30\00:29:10.95 larger the snacks, the larger the flags yeah, 00:29:10.96\00:29:14.29 and I knew that too, that's the way it 00:29:14.30\00:29:17.40 worked with me. Are you eat meat eater 00:29:19.41\00:29:20.38 in your family? We were encouraged 00:29:20.39\00:29:21.87 to eat a lot of meat we had meat at least 00:29:21.88\00:29:24.98 twice a day of not three times we would 00:29:24.99\00:29:28.03 usually didn't have it for breakfast but you know 00:29:28.04\00:29:30.79 I know a lot of people do we just didn't 00:29:30.80\00:29:32.79 happen to, yeah, fresh from the farm, 00:29:32.80\00:29:35.33 yeah some of the meat are fresh from the farm, 00:29:35.72\00:29:38.64 yeah, I think they are getting fresh and getting 00:29:39.12\00:29:41.30 meat fresh in the farm, right, 00:29:41.31\00:29:43.05 right you know my brother in law farmed and so we 00:29:43.39\00:29:45.99 got meat from his from his farm, 00:29:46.00\00:29:48.65 he is my dad's family were beef farmers, 00:29:48.66\00:29:51.49 oh, okay, and my mom's very much grew 00:29:51.61\00:29:53.31 up with dairy farmers. So meat and dairy 00:29:53.32\00:29:56.19 was considered staple and the beef farm 00:29:56.20\00:29:59.60 we actually lived on a piece of the land 00:29:59.61\00:30:01.54 from the beef farms so they were. 00:30:01.55\00:30:02.79 Now I want to ask you because we touched 00:30:02.80\00:30:04.63 now in just a moment ago most medical 00:30:04.64\00:30:07.06 students don't get a lot of nutrition in 00:30:07.07\00:30:08.67 these studies. No, not really, aha, yeah. 00:30:08.68\00:30:12.27 Right, we are working on this 00:30:12.28\00:30:14.14 we are working on this, 00:30:14.15\00:30:15.34 it's coming all too slowly. 00:30:15.35\00:30:17.74 You know I mean if you have three or 00:30:17.75\00:30:21.10 four lecturers in four years, yeah, 00:30:21.11\00:30:23.28 so we need to really, really do something 00:30:23.29\00:30:25.77 about this we need to beefed up, indeed, 00:30:25.78\00:30:31.15 so you began to get some of these 00:30:31.16\00:30:34.71 principles under your belt it's literally, yes, 00:30:34.72\00:30:37.70 and then what happened. 00:30:37.71\00:30:38.72 I started this ways and making these changes 00:30:38.73\00:30:41.75 and the way started coming off and just 00:30:41.76\00:30:44.28 started melting away and I didn't feel 00:30:44.29\00:30:47.26 and that was another thing I could eat 00:30:47.27\00:30:49.41 plenty of food. I didn't have 00:30:49.42\00:30:51.11 to starve myself that way that measure 00:30:51.12\00:30:53.45 your food you have to have limited sizes, 00:30:53.46\00:30:55.90 limited proportions I didn't have to do that 00:30:55.91\00:30:58.24 with this I didn't have to worry about how 00:30:58.25\00:30:59.88 much I ate just eat until I was satisfied, 00:30:59.89\00:31:02.96 wow. And, so that was a big thing too and 00:31:02.97\00:31:06.84 what I found was over about two or maybe 00:31:06.85\00:31:10.17 three months my desire and my sense of needing 00:31:10.18\00:31:15.56 snacks just melted away as well, 00:31:15.57\00:31:18.19 it wasn't that I had to stop eating snacks 00:31:18.20\00:31:22.24 I continued eating snacks for a while, 00:31:22.25\00:31:25.59 but after while I was eating such a healthy 00:31:25.60\00:31:28.71 nutritious breakfast full of high fiber 00:31:28.72\00:31:31.39 that would last me until lunch and 00:31:31.40\00:31:33.99 next thing I knew my breakfast 7.00 or 7.30 00:31:34.00\00:31:38.01 in the morning and I used to have a bag of 00:31:38.02\00:31:40.88 snacks or something you know at 00:31:40.89\00:31:42.54 10.30, 10.00 or 10.30, yeah, suddenly I found 00:31:42.55\00:31:46.79 myself 11 0'clock, 11:30, or even noon and 00:31:46.80\00:31:50.33 I was only just now starting to feel hungry 00:31:50.34\00:31:52.83 and had notice I no notice of a need 00:31:52.84\00:31:56.55 for a snack during the morning. 00:31:56.56\00:31:58.14 I'm gonna to ask you did you husband 00:31:58.15\00:31:59.40 join you this or did you kind of step out 00:31:59.41\00:32:00.95 and did yourself. He was in the study; 00:32:00.96\00:32:04.53 he agreed with everything that we were 00:32:04.54\00:32:06.66 learning, he was very obese and he 00:32:06.67\00:32:09.94 needed to make changes as well. 00:32:09.95\00:32:11.80 But he agreed with everything but he 00:32:11.81\00:32:15.85 didn't apply those things in his life. 00:32:15.86\00:32:18.35 So he continued to eat the same way 00:32:18.36\00:32:22.09 as we had been eating, 00:32:22.10\00:32:23.15 his weight continued to climb. 00:32:23.16\00:32:25.65 And why did you think about your 00:32:25.66\00:32:28.11 shrinking ways line. 00:32:28.12\00:32:29.11 Oh he was fine with that. 00:32:29.12\00:32:30.51 I teased him that he is a polygamist okay. 00:32:36.68\00:32:41.31 A polygamist? He is a polygamist, he had, 00:32:41.32\00:32:43.81 he had a young skinny wife he had a 00:32:43.82\00:32:47.78 middle age fat wife and now he has 00:32:47.79\00:32:50.26 on older skinny wife. So he is now, 00:32:50.27\00:32:54.20 so he has had three women. 00:32:54.21\00:32:56.94 So your weight was coming down then right? 00:32:59.43\00:33:01.41 Yes my weight was coming down. 00:33:01.42\00:33:02.85 Was it coming down fast or gradual, 00:33:02.86\00:33:05.39 what happened after one year? 00:33:05.40\00:33:06.44 It was coming down gradually and that was 00:33:06.45\00:33:09.22 something we were learn to that just better 00:33:09.23\00:33:10.83 to lose weight gradually, 00:33:10.84\00:33:12.64 don't not a big weight loss all at once, 00:33:12.65\00:33:15.93 just bring it down slow. 00:33:15.94\00:33:17.36 They say two to four but, 00:33:17.37\00:33:19.71 two to four pounds two to six pounds a month 00:33:19.72\00:33:23.24 is about right. Was that was, 00:33:23.25\00:33:25.20 was happening for you to about that, 00:33:25.21\00:33:26.66 that's how what would happen for me 00:33:26.67\00:33:27.78 at the end of a year I had lost 49 pounds, 00:33:27.79\00:33:31.75 wow, and so it was right there at 4 pounds 00:33:31.76\00:33:34.73 a month was, was what my weight 00:33:34.74\00:33:37.41 lose was in that first year and we have 00:33:37.42\00:33:39.87 another picture that shows where 00:33:39.88\00:33:42.73 I was added at that point and so 00:33:42.74\00:33:46.49 I don't know if they couldn't clip that 00:33:46.50\00:33:47.72 in or not but yeah that was the, 00:33:47.73\00:33:50.01 oh you can see to that, 00:33:50.02\00:33:50.99 that's was one year later after one year 00:33:51.00\00:33:53.47 that's what I look like. So that, 00:33:53.48\00:33:56.89 and then at that point it seem like 00:33:56.90\00:34:00.78 I stabilized you know there a lot of times 00:34:00.79\00:34:02.75 weight lost they talked about you have 00:34:02.76\00:34:04.45 this plateau that's what happened with me, 00:34:04.46\00:34:06.93 I plateau did that level. 00:34:06.94\00:34:08.71 And I was satisfied there 00:34:08.72\00:34:10.80 I am really enjoyed that 00:34:10.81\00:34:12.79 I was add had reached that level again, 00:34:12.80\00:34:15.71 that was about 30 pounds overweight 00:34:15.72\00:34:18.69 at that point and I still wanted 00:34:18.70\00:34:21.75 to lose in additional 30 pounds, 00:34:21.76\00:34:23.87 but I continue doing what I was doing 00:34:23.88\00:34:27.32 but it just wasn't coming off anymore. 00:34:27.33\00:34:29.38 Now I want to ask you did you have any 00:34:29.39\00:34:31.28 attended health issues other than 00:34:31.29\00:34:33.30 just a weight or you have any? 00:34:33.31\00:34:34.62 I really didn't accept one I had had a 00:34:34.63\00:34:37.71 doctor tell me at one point that my 00:34:37.72\00:34:40.14 cholesterol was moderately high, 00:34:40.15\00:34:42.25 border line high and that way was at 220 00:34:42.26\00:34:45.88 at that point and he said 00:34:45.89\00:34:48.00 I should watch my diet, 00:34:48.01\00:34:49.97 he didn't tell me anything about 00:34:49.98\00:34:50.95 what did they what do you mean 00:34:50.96\00:34:52.13 watch my diet, I didn't know 00:34:52.14\00:34:55.91 what that mean I didn't know 00:34:55.92\00:34:57.33 what I should watch, so I continue 00:34:57.34\00:35:00.74 to eat as I always had because 00:35:00.75\00:35:02.23 I didn't know how to what to do differently. 00:35:02.24\00:35:04.63 So I imagined my cholesterol was 00:35:04.64\00:35:07.11 probably still at that level but 00:35:07.12\00:35:08.61 I really didn't know, yeah, yeah. 00:35:08.62\00:35:10.66 I want to say you know she may don't 00:35:10.67\00:35:13.12 have medical, official medical issues 00:35:13.13\00:35:16.19 but she was always complaining about 00:35:16.20\00:35:18.43 not being able to get up and about 00:35:18.44\00:35:20.00 low energy and you know as kids 00:35:20.01\00:35:22.52 we would want to go do stuff and 00:35:22.53\00:35:24.10 she never really wanted to go with us 00:35:24.11\00:35:26.87 because it was just there was so much 00:35:26.88\00:35:28.87 weight holding her down all the time and 00:35:28.88\00:35:30.83 her energy kept her from going and really 00:35:30.84\00:35:33.11 having fun, and aches and pains, yes. 00:35:33.12\00:35:36.37 I had a lot of aches and pains. 00:35:36.38\00:35:38.38 I would sit in a chair and when I sat down 00:35:38.39\00:35:41.80 I didn't want to get up because I was stiff, 00:35:41.81\00:35:44.94 you know I just feel muscle joints would be 00:35:44.95\00:35:50.08 stiff and achy so if I was up by stay up into 00:35:50.09\00:35:54.48 what I needed to and that 00:35:54.49\00:35:55.46 I would sit down and stays up. 00:35:55.47\00:35:56.77 But so as you were losing weight so you 00:35:59.26\00:36:01.35 lose about 40 pounds in on year roughly, 00:36:01.36\00:36:03.26 weight, right, right almost 50 pounds. 00:36:03.27\00:36:05.32 So, and your husband is rejoice seeing in a 00:36:05.33\00:36:08.43 sliming down weight lay in the of his 00:36:08.44\00:36:10.29 wife right, right, did you inspire him 00:36:10.30\00:36:13.21 did that his inspire him or what 00:36:13.22\00:36:14.28 happened to him? Well I didn't 00:36:14.29\00:36:15.52 that for didn't that seem to it first 00:36:15.53\00:36:17.58 he did like I said he kept talking about it 00:36:17.59\00:36:19.97 and he would talked to his brothers or 00:36:19.98\00:36:22.58 other people that he knew especially those 00:36:22.59\00:36:25.48 who were overweight and he make joking 00:36:25.49\00:36:27.80 comments you know, hey we need to be 00:36:27.81\00:36:29.99 eating this or you know doing that instead and, 00:36:30.00\00:36:33.67 but then he and continue eating the 00:36:33.68\00:36:35.19 way he always had. 00:36:35.20\00:36:36.22 my dad is skeptic, a big skeptic, 00:36:36.23\00:36:39.43 he doesn't want to do anything 00:36:39.44\00:36:40.72 until it's proven to him, I see. 00:36:40.73\00:36:42.29 So he thinks that until the proof is on 00:36:42.30\00:36:46.03 the putting, so until the proof is 00:36:46.04\00:36:47.59 there he doesn't want to make any changes. 00:36:47.60\00:36:49.61 So, so almost four year went by, 00:36:49.62\00:36:52.02 another full year okay so one year had gone 00:36:52.03\00:36:55.16 by at lost about 50 pounds. 00:36:55.17\00:36:57.02 Now we were into the second year 00:36:57.03\00:36:59.28 and my weight was staying steady and 00:36:59.29\00:37:02.42 a little bit beyond that he decided he 00:37:02.43\00:37:05.32 wanted to make the change as well. 00:37:05.33\00:37:07.06 And so, so you inspired him, 00:37:07.07\00:37:09.60 I think you talked him or you just 00:37:09.61\00:37:12.44 observe your get them energy. 00:37:12.45\00:37:14.66 He observed and he talked with somebody 00:37:14.67\00:37:18.57 who knew a lot about nutrition and was kind 00:37:18.58\00:37:22.34 of talking to him about making these changes 00:37:22.35\00:37:25.46 because he not only was obese he also had 00:37:25.47\00:37:28.78 Type II Diabetes, high blood pressure, and 00:37:28.79\00:37:32.12 high cholesterol and he was on medications 00:37:32.13\00:37:35.15 for all three and had been on those 00:37:35.16\00:37:37.52 for six years. Six years yeah! 00:37:37.53\00:37:39.38 And this person that he was talking 00:37:39.39\00:37:41.67 with told him to make these changes 00:37:41.68\00:37:47.28 lose that weight and he might be 00:37:47.29\00:37:49.18 able to get off of these medications. 00:37:49.19\00:37:50.94 Was he proud of you? Did he encourage you? 00:37:50.95\00:37:54.48 Oh, yes. He was cheer leading for you. 00:37:54.49\00:37:56.28 Yes he was very encouraging. Yes. 00:37:56.29\00:37:58.10 Yeah. He never pooh poohed anything I did, 00:37:58.11\00:38:01.99 you know, he never dissuaded me from doing 00:38:02.00\00:38:05.08 and he was very supportive that way. 00:38:05.09\00:38:07.10 The question I want to ask you then 00:38:07.11\00:38:08.08 is your friends and those around you knew 00:38:08.09\00:38:10.43 what they thinking about the new you, 00:38:10.44\00:38:12.40 because obviously they had to. 00:38:12.41\00:38:13.39 Well they were amazed that they were people 00:38:13.40\00:38:15.61 that I had been involved with him 00:38:15.62\00:38:18.15 business meetings and such and I was rather 00:38:18.16\00:38:21.02 active in my community at that time and they 00:38:21.03\00:38:25.27 I started kind of backing out of some of 00:38:25.28\00:38:27.92 those things and so some of those people 00:38:27.93\00:38:30.44 didn't see me for several months and 00:38:30.45\00:38:32.72 when they saw me again they did a double take, 00:38:32.73\00:38:36.51 you know like Nancy wow you've really changed, 00:38:36.52\00:38:39.28 and they were amazed yeah. 00:38:40.89\00:38:42.91 And of course I imagined some of them 00:38:42.92\00:38:45.21 felt like you know okay she has lost 00:38:45.22\00:38:47.45 the weight, but it will probably 00:38:47.46\00:38:48.95 come back on, yeah, because lot of times 00:38:48.96\00:38:51.10 you see that with people who lose weight, 00:38:51.11\00:38:53.07 but overtime the weight didn't come back on 00:38:53.08\00:38:56.53 and then in fact during this time period 00:38:56.54\00:38:58.46 where I plateaued I have way expected it 00:38:58.47\00:39:01.53 to start coming back on again but I kept doing 00:39:01.54\00:39:04.40 what I've been taught what we you know 00:39:04.41\00:39:06.42 what I was learning or what I learned and 00:39:06.43\00:39:09.38 it did not come back on it stayed off 00:39:09.39\00:39:11.88 and for over a year, it's stayed off 00:39:11.89\00:39:15.77 and I mean it never did come back. 00:39:15.78\00:39:18.85 I want to ask you a question, good doctor 00:39:18.86\00:39:21.51 is this plateauing is that a normal phase 00:39:21.52\00:39:23.93 that you go through, your body kind 00:39:23.94\00:39:25.03 of stabilize for. It happens. 00:39:25.04\00:39:26.79 It has quite often. The body tries to 00:39:26.80\00:39:29.56 hang on to certain level and it might 00:39:29.57\00:39:34.11 actually loose fat but it holds onto water to 00:39:34.12\00:39:37.60 maintain that special weight happens 00:39:37.61\00:39:40.91 all to often, but then if you 00:39:40.92\00:39:42.42 follow through on the program and you eating 00:39:42.43\00:39:44.52 fewer calories then you burn, 00:39:44.53\00:39:47.94 then ultimately the body has to let go and 00:39:47.95\00:39:50.72 I think that's probably what happened to you 00:39:50.73\00:39:51.92 right, you were there for a year on 00:39:51.93\00:39:54.07 the plateau and then what happened? Right, 00:39:54.08\00:39:55.99 well then one my husband made the 00:39:56.00\00:39:57.44 decision make changes to his lifestyle 00:39:57.45\00:40:00.63 because I was already doing everything. 00:40:00.64\00:40:03.43 I told him that I would support him 00:40:03.44\00:40:05.77 and making those changes make sure 00:40:05.78\00:40:07.68 he had all the right foods and was, 00:40:07.69\00:40:09.66 you know we cooked things properly 00:40:09.67\00:40:11.81 that sort of thing and I recommitted 00:40:11.82\00:40:14.10 myself to kind of tightening up on 00:40:14.11\00:40:17.22 what I did, we would cut 00:40:17.23\00:40:18.55 back on the fats a little more, 00:40:18.56\00:40:20.32 do more exercise make a few adjustments 00:40:20.33\00:40:24.07 to what I was doing. So I started applying 00:40:24.08\00:40:26.94 that to my lifestyle along with helping him 00:40:26.95\00:40:30.65 with his and both of us exercise daily 00:40:30.66\00:40:35.91 at that point then we both committed to 00:40:35.92\00:40:37.78 daily exercise and so we walked together 00:40:37.79\00:40:40.45 everyday we take a walk together. 00:40:40.46\00:40:42.51 It is such an important concepts health 00:40:42.52\00:40:45.73 is a family affairs, yes yes, yes, right, yeah, 00:40:45.74\00:40:48.91 I mean you are now moving in the same 00:40:48.92\00:40:51.46 direction together, right, and your 00:40:51.47\00:40:53.04 husband's weight came down and 00:40:53.05\00:40:54.25 you told me right, right, what happened. 00:40:54.26\00:40:55.56 He began to lose some weight within three 00:40:55.57\00:40:59.75 weeks his doctor was able to cut his 00:40:59.76\00:41:02.86 diabetes medication in half, wow, 00:41:02.87\00:41:05.46 because his blood sugars were going low 00:41:05.47\00:41:07.40 at this point and that was just three weeks 00:41:07.41\00:41:10.23 and then by eight weeks he was 00:41:10.24\00:41:13.63 off of the medications, all three medications, 00:41:13.64\00:41:16.52 wow, completely off of his diabetes medicine 00:41:16.53\00:41:18.98 and off of the heart and the blood pressure 00:41:18.99\00:41:22.95 and cholesterol medications as well. 00:41:22.96\00:41:24.96 Can you imagine? Here you have a man 00:41:24.97\00:41:27.38 that was a skeptic right, and now he is 00:41:27.39\00:41:29.93 beginning to follow in the tracks his wife. 00:41:29.94\00:41:32.20 They began to walk together. 00:41:32.21\00:41:34.38 They are going to eat together at the 00:41:34.39\00:41:36.25 same foods and they are both losing weight. 00:41:36.26\00:41:38.79 She has already moved a head of him right. 00:41:38.80\00:41:40.97 Now he has beginning to lose weight. 00:41:40.98\00:41:42.47 He lost some I think you mentioned 00:41:42.48\00:41:43.91 to me some 60; he lost 25 pounds in 00:41:43.92\00:41:46.69 the eight weeks, yes, wow, and then after 00:41:46.70\00:41:49.15 a year he had lost little over 60 pounds. 00:41:49.16\00:41:52.00 Bless, it's hard. You know she used to 00:42:56.05\00:43:00.53 when we were kids she had her 00:43:00.54\00:43:02.84 wedding dress hanging out, yes, 00:43:02.85\00:43:04.87 and she used to look at that dress and 00:43:04.88\00:43:06.49 say some day I'm gonna fit back into that 00:43:06.50\00:43:08.61 and I used to look at that dress and 00:43:08.62\00:43:10.79 say no way well my momma 00:43:10.80\00:43:12.03 never fit into that, but she did it 00:43:12.04\00:43:15.49 and it's amazing. And I had gain 00:43:15.50\00:43:18.87 30 pounds within two years of being married 00:43:18.88\00:43:21.92 and so basically right after I was married 00:43:21.93\00:43:25.11 I was got no longer fit into the dress, yeah, 00:43:25.12\00:43:28.50 and that I always that always bothered me 00:43:28.51\00:43:30.75 and I've heard of other women who would been 00:43:30.76\00:43:33.02 able to fit into their wedding dress at their 00:43:33.03\00:43:34.95 35th, 40th, or 50th anniversary and 00:43:34.96\00:43:39.72 I wondered how they did that and 00:43:39.73\00:43:42.13 I had lot of gained and all that weight 00:43:42.14\00:43:43.96 and I thought it's just not gonna happen 00:43:43.97\00:43:46.58 and you know I became very discouraged 00:43:46.59\00:43:49.52 because I felt like I would you know that, 00:43:49.53\00:43:53.21 what was in that big body was not me 00:43:53.22\00:43:56.31 that I knew I belonged skinny, 00:43:56.32\00:43:59.38 not skinny but slender, yeah, 00:43:59.39\00:44:02.50 and it just wasn't happening until 00:44:02.51\00:44:06.07 I found this way of doing. 00:44:06.08\00:44:07.63 Now I want to ask you because we talk 00:44:07.64\00:44:09.05 about exercise good doctor, 00:44:09.06\00:44:10.97 you do not show going to Jim 00:44:10.98\00:44:12.91 just beaten yourself of, you are not term 00:44:12.92\00:44:14.63 run in the middle of and that kind of thing, 00:44:14.64\00:44:16.19 we live in a gravel country gravel road 00:44:16.20\00:44:18.56 we just walk the road. 00:44:18.57\00:44:19.83 We would walk maybe at first 00:44:19.84\00:44:22.38 we would about 15 minutes away from 00:44:22.39\00:44:24.46 the house and then come back and 00:44:24.47\00:44:26.45 then we walk 15 minutes in the 00:44:26.46\00:44:27.84 other direction and come back. 00:44:27.85\00:44:29.27 So about a mile roughly! Yeah, 00:44:29.28\00:44:30.93 it's say about a mile and probably putting 00:44:30.94\00:44:33.62 on about two miles a day at that point 00:44:33.63\00:44:35.72 eventually we were able to increase that 00:44:35.73\00:44:38.69 to about three miles a day that we were doing, 00:44:38.70\00:44:42.23 moderate pace, and moderate pace whatever 00:44:42.24\00:44:44.45 was comfortable for us and just enjoyed 00:44:44.46\00:44:48.52 nature and, you were not beaten the stuff 00:44:48.53\00:44:50.02 of you can smell a roses and kind of, 00:44:50.03\00:44:51.98 exactly yeah, the point was to get up 00:44:51.99\00:44:54.58 and to move, yes, and I found at home 00:44:54.59\00:44:57.47 I started feeling antsy if I sat 00:44:57.48\00:45:01.06 around too long. I had to get up 00:45:01.07\00:45:02.83 and start moving. What a change right? 00:45:02.84\00:45:04.77 Yeah, yeah, once she used to sit down, 00:45:04.78\00:45:06.65 yeah, yeah, and when I we have a few steps 00:45:06.66\00:45:11.68 in our house and when I would 00:45:11.69\00:45:12.89 climb the steps when I had all that weight on 00:45:12.90\00:45:15.28 and get to the top and 00:45:15.29\00:45:16.33 I was you know just huffing and puffing. 00:45:16.34\00:45:19.57 Now I can go up and down 00:45:19.58\00:45:21.16 the steps day and night it 00:45:21.17\00:45:23.06 didn't bother a bit, good for you, 00:45:23.07\00:45:25.00 and it doesn't today I can climb those steps 00:45:25.01\00:45:28.03 and I am not huffing and puffing. 00:45:28.04\00:45:29.28 Isn't interesting? She is getting 00:45:29.29\00:45:30.86 older chronologically, yeah, 00:45:30.87\00:45:33.00 but she is getting younger biologically, 00:45:33.01\00:45:35.26 yes, she is getting younger and 00:45:35.27\00:45:36.88 she is getting older I mean this is, 00:45:36.89\00:45:38.65 and this must be a great joy for 00:45:38.66\00:45:40.23 you to see as a daughter right. It is, 00:45:40.24\00:45:42.18 it's you know I say every time I see her 00:45:42.19\00:45:45.01 she is younger than the last time I saw her and 00:45:45.02\00:45:47.97 I really believe that her everything about her is 00:45:47.98\00:45:51.74 just so much younger than she used to be 00:45:51.75\00:45:54.61 you know, my whole childhood 00:45:54.62\00:45:56.01 she was low in energy my dad would bring 00:45:56.02\00:46:00.74 her soda and, chocolate, and 00:46:00.75\00:46:05.71 junk food, because she didn't want to 00:46:05.72\00:46:09.21 get up and get it, then so she wouldn't 00:46:09.22\00:46:12.57 be working or something and he would come 00:46:12.58\00:46:15.65 and bring it to her and it just me to 00:46:15.66\00:46:18.20 probably worst but you know and that's how 00:46:18.21\00:46:20.78 she wasn't that was the majority of the 00:46:20.79\00:46:23.31 her that I knew and now you know once 00:46:23.32\00:46:27.25 we got when I went away for school 00:46:27.26\00:46:29.77 you know we where far apart, 00:46:29.78\00:46:31.44 and then the next time I saw she was 00:46:31.45\00:46:34.35 getting thinner and thinner and thinner 00:46:34.36\00:46:37.27 and now I you know I only get to see 00:46:37.28\00:46:38.93 her a couple of once or twice in a year 00:46:38.94\00:46:40.40 but every time I see her she is younger 00:46:40.41\00:46:42.37 than she was before. Wow! Yeah, 00:46:42.38\00:46:44.59 she has got such a bright smile. 00:46:44.60\00:46:45.94 I wanted to ask you this, because we 00:46:45.95\00:46:48.73 talked about the obvious 00:46:48.74\00:46:49.71 physical benefits. What about your 00:46:49.72\00:46:51.97 mental outlook on life? 00:46:51.98\00:46:54.09 What about the workings of your mind, 00:46:54.10\00:46:56.73 I mean your pep in your brain, 00:46:56.74\00:47:00.00 how your brain is working your outlook 00:47:00.01\00:47:01.67 on life your joyful living, 00:47:01.68\00:47:03.47 did that change? Oh my joy for living 00:47:03.48\00:47:05.30 went up a 100 percent. I mean it just, 00:47:05.31\00:47:08.48 life is fun now you know and 00:47:08.49\00:47:11.73 it's not work, it's not a job 00:47:11.74\00:47:13.93 I cab getting in and out of the car 00:47:13.94\00:47:16.90 before was a job, you know just 00:47:16.91\00:47:19.19 getting into car getting out of the car, 00:47:19.20\00:47:21.59 yeah, you know and you know how the 00:47:21.60\00:47:25.35 restrooms are with the little stalls 00:47:25.36\00:47:27.87 okay you felt crowded in there but not 00:47:27.88\00:47:31.22 anymore you sit in a chair I remember 00:47:31.23\00:47:33.94 sitting at a meeting where I sat in a chair 00:47:33.95\00:47:36.72 and my hips hit the sides of the chair and 00:47:36.73\00:47:40.74 after I lost the weight I happened to be 00:47:40.75\00:47:43.00 at a meeting where I sat that same chair 00:47:43.01\00:47:45.28 and now I had plenty of inches there and 00:47:45.29\00:47:48.51 you know it was just you know 00:47:48.52\00:47:50.94 I just felt good, and knowing that I can do 00:47:50.95\00:47:55.03 those things and one of the motivating 00:47:55.04\00:47:57.32 factors and really believe this is 00:47:57.33\00:47:59.43 something that's really important for 00:47:59.44\00:48:01.42 people to do when they want to make 00:48:01.43\00:48:02.83 lifestyle changes to have a 00:48:02.84\00:48:04.86 motivating factor, something what 00:48:04.87\00:48:07.71 ultimately drives their desire to 00:48:07.72\00:48:10.99 make that change. For me, 00:48:11.00\00:48:13.37 it was that I wanted to be there 00:48:13.38\00:48:15.94 for grandchildren I didn't have any 00:48:15.95\00:48:18.12 grandchildren yet but I know I probably 00:48:18.13\00:48:20.21 would some day and I didn't want 00:48:20.22\00:48:22.35 to just be there for them 00:48:22.36\00:48:23.81 I wanted to be able to involved myself in them, 00:48:23.82\00:48:27.99 okay I wanted to be able to get down 00:48:28.00\00:48:29.73 on the floor and play with them. 00:48:29.74\00:48:31.04 I wanted to be able to maybe jog 00:48:31.05\00:48:34.41 or run with them, things like that and 00:48:34.42\00:48:38.76 I had also had this mental picture 00:48:38.77\00:48:42.20 in my mind. I had seen a 00:48:42.21\00:48:43.35 lot of elderly people around me, 00:48:43.36\00:48:45.11 and like she mentioned a lot of family members 00:48:45.12\00:48:48.27 that were had weight problems and 00:48:48.28\00:48:50.68 health problems as older people and 00:48:50.69\00:48:53.63 I would look at them and realize 00:48:53.64\00:48:57.16 what their lives were like and those 00:48:57.17\00:48:59.08 who were overweight and on these 00:48:59.09\00:49:01.19 medications diabetes cholesterol blood 00:49:01.20\00:49:03.77 pressure medications they sat around 00:49:03.78\00:49:07.19 a lot and talked about their problems 00:49:07.20\00:49:10.26 and they appointment with the doctor here 00:49:10.27\00:49:12.70 and this upcoming surgery for whatever, 00:49:12.71\00:49:17.03 yeah, you know there and the high cost 00:49:17.04\00:49:20.31 of medications and then well this medication 00:49:20.32\00:49:24.30 is causing these side effects so now 00:49:24.31\00:49:26.17 I have to take this other medication, 00:49:26.18\00:49:28.07 and you know these things were 00:49:28.08\00:49:29.78 going on when I looked at elderly 00:49:29.79\00:49:32.10 people that were not overweight 00:49:32.11\00:49:34.22 who were basically normal weight 00:49:34.23\00:49:36.44 they were out enjoying life. 00:49:36.45\00:49:38.58 They were doing volunteer work 00:49:38.59\00:49:40.11 here there or somewhere else they 00:49:40.12\00:49:42.02 were traveling around the world or 00:49:42.03\00:49:44.01 to special places that enjoying, 00:49:44.02\00:49:46.53 enjoying life they weren't sitting around 00:49:46.54\00:49:49.84 complaining about all these other things and 00:49:49.85\00:49:52.68 I saw that and I was like I want 00:49:52.69\00:49:55.39 to be that older slender person, yeah, 00:49:55.40\00:49:57.50 I don't want to be that old fat person, yeah. 00:49:57.51\00:50:01.43 You see some people talked about it right, 00:50:01.44\00:50:04.41 yeah, and other do something about it, 00:50:04.42\00:50:06.82 and you from the very beginning had 00:50:06.83\00:50:08.25 a very enquiring mind you had some 00:50:08.26\00:50:12.65 principles in your mind that you 00:50:12.66\00:50:15.06 wanted to see to be utilized in a 00:50:15.07\00:50:17.35 sensible weight mentioned program, 00:50:17.36\00:50:19.56 you followed them you won and then 00:50:19.57\00:50:22.67 your husband became involved, your husband, 00:50:22.68\00:50:24.89 tell me a little bit more about this. 00:50:24.90\00:50:26.97 Now you said he was a diabetic he was on 00:50:26.98\00:50:29.11 medication, yes, and after four weeks 00:50:29.12\00:50:31.77 his medications was cut in half, right, 00:50:31.78\00:50:34.10 and is this all medications? No, he is, 00:50:34.11\00:50:37.87 he lost the weight and he is off of all 00:50:37.88\00:50:41.70 his medications and it's been four years 00:50:41.71\00:50:45.27 now and in fact after that first year 00:50:45.28\00:50:49.20 it was interesting, he was because 00:50:49.21\00:50:51.93 he was type II diabetic he was testing his 00:50:51.94\00:50:53.88 blood sugar everyday and his doctor had said 00:50:53.89\00:50:56.44 he could test just once every morning 00:50:56.45\00:50:58.51 fasting blood sugar in the morning, 00:50:58.52\00:51:00.79 so he prick his finger and got his blood test. 00:51:00.80\00:51:05.19 When he was off the medication 00:51:05.20\00:51:08.86 he continued to run his blood tests. 00:51:08.87\00:51:10.69 Now he is veterans so he was getting 00:51:10.70\00:51:12.89 his supplies through the VA medical system, 00:51:12.90\00:51:16.30 and he would send in for more blood 00:51:16.31\00:51:19.97 test strips, blood sugar test strips. 00:51:19.98\00:51:22.23 Well about a year later he was 00:51:22.24\00:51:25.29 getting low on starting to get 00:51:25.30\00:51:26.90 low on this test strips so he said 00:51:26.91\00:51:28.49 in this water for another batch 00:51:28.50\00:51:30.24 of test strips, and continue to 00:51:30.25\00:51:32.86 test and they, the test strips 00:51:32.87\00:51:35.23 weren't coming and weren't coming and 00:51:35.24\00:51:36.73 he was almost out of test strips. 00:51:36.74\00:51:38.31 So he called the medical place and 00:51:38.32\00:51:41.21 asked them where is the test strips 00:51:41.22\00:51:43.48 you know I'm almost out said, 00:51:43.49\00:51:45.76 well just a minute we'll look at your records. 00:51:45.77\00:51:48.03 So they went to look at his records and 00:51:48.04\00:51:50.39 came back on the phone and they said 00:51:50.40\00:51:51.99 we are sorry Mr. Gable we can't send you 00:51:52.00\00:51:54.37 test strips anymore you are no longer diabetic. 00:51:54.38\00:51:57.14 I mean it's an absolutely turnaround. 00:52:01.81\00:52:04.00 What a discovery, isn't it? Yeah. 00:52:04.01\00:52:06.29 What a discovery to make, no longer diabetic 00:52:06.30\00:52:09.16 and yet this is not all that what should 00:52:09.17\00:52:12.64 I say unusual you know we've seen some 00:52:12.65\00:52:15.40 50,000 people and 12 percent of 00:52:15.41\00:52:17.92 these diabetics, you know, 00:52:17.93\00:52:18.93 in our trip program and it follows pretty 00:52:18.94\00:52:21.17 much the science. Here is a book by 00:52:21.18\00:52:23.52 Dr. Neal Barnard one of our friends he 00:52:23.53\00:52:27.09 has written a book on reversing diabetes. 00:52:27.10\00:52:30.28 It's a scientifically proven program to 00:52:30.29\00:52:34.11 reverse diabetes and they basically use the 00:52:34.12\00:52:36.65 same course of us, daily exercise half 00:52:36.66\00:52:39.51 an hour 45 minutes is a diabetic, right, 00:52:39.52\00:52:41.80 and of course then to eat more potatoes 00:52:41.81\00:52:45.11 truly so most of the thing you cannot 00:52:45.12\00:52:47.33 eat potatoes no problem when you integrated 00:52:47.34\00:52:50.28 into a healthy dietary lifestyle with 00:52:50.29\00:52:53.27 the lot of fiber it works magically and 00:52:53.28\00:52:56.11 I think that's happening with your 00:52:56.12\00:52:57.80 husband right. That's right. 00:52:57.81\00:52:58.87 Has he been back on medication is he 00:52:58.88\00:53:00.78 getting his strips or what's happening? Well, 00:53:00.79\00:53:04.60 he kind of slacked off on the lifestyle for a 00:53:04.61\00:53:08.30 little while and he gained some weight back 00:53:08.31\00:53:10.55 and his numbers started going back up again 00:53:10.56\00:53:13.74 and at one point his doctor did put him 00:53:13.75\00:53:16.70 on the medications again only for about 00:53:16.71\00:53:20.09 three months or six months something like 00:53:20.10\00:53:22.13 that because when that happened he got 00:53:22.14\00:53:24.12 back on the lifestyle, changed, 00:53:24.13\00:53:26.66 got to exercising more eating more 00:53:26.67\00:53:29.68 healthfully again and the weight started 00:53:29.69\00:53:32.16 coming off and the numbers came back down 00:53:32.17\00:53:34.50 and he was able to get off the 00:53:34.51\00:53:35.97 medications again. And that's true 00:53:35.98\00:53:37.57 also for the blood pressure 00:53:37.58\00:53:38.92 if I've been right. Yes, 00:53:38.93\00:53:39.90 the blood pressure the cholesterol, 00:53:39.91\00:53:41.16 and the diabetes, all three of them. 00:53:41.17\00:53:42.79 No medications? He was off of all three 00:53:42.80\00:53:45.32 and during this short period of time 00:53:45.33\00:53:47.70 where he gained that weight back again 00:53:47.71\00:53:49.80 he got put back on all three, 00:53:49.81\00:53:51.61 but again by changing his lifestyle 00:53:51.62\00:53:54.76 back to the CHIP lifestyle, yeah, 00:53:54.77\00:53:56.60 he brought that all down again and 00:53:56.61\00:53:58.27 got off of them again. 00:53:58.28\00:53:59.31 See there is the answer for 00:53:59.32\00:54:00.69 Health Care Crisis in America right. 00:54:00.70\00:54:02.75 Seventy percent of our health issues 00:54:02.76\00:54:09.58 relate to lifestyle issues. 00:54:09.59\00:54:10.56 They relate to how we eat, 00:54:10.57\00:54:14.15 how we drink, how we exercise 00:54:14.16\00:54:16.30 to be smoked, and that's really the 00:54:16.31\00:54:18.02 challenge how do you really motivate people, 00:54:18.03\00:54:20.84 yeah, how do you inspire people to do it 00:54:20.85\00:54:23.08 and you know I guess you found some 00:54:23.09\00:54:25.49 of the answers in the micro CHIP program 00:54:25.50\00:54:27.87 and you then became involved in 00:54:27.88\00:54:29.68 the CHIP program, right you are 00:54:29.69\00:54:31.53 one of the leaders now and a talent in 00:54:31.54\00:54:33.53 CHIP program conducting right, yes. 00:54:33.54\00:54:35.50 We after a year or a after I lost that 00:54:35.51\00:54:38.73 first 50 pounds I was like I want to 00:54:38.74\00:54:40.71 know more about the full CHIP program, 00:54:40.72\00:54:43.92 what does it involved, what do you do, 00:54:43.93\00:54:46.96 and there was a training session coming 00:54:46.97\00:54:49.66 up for teaching CHIP leaders how to conduct 00:54:49.67\00:54:53.07 a CHIP program and so I ask the church 00:54:53.08\00:54:55.64 to help sponsor me to go to one of those 00:54:55.65\00:54:58.40 CHIP training programs and they helped back 00:54:58.41\00:55:01.97 me for running CHIP program at our church, 00:55:01.98\00:55:04.65 wow. And, they agree to do that, 00:55:04.66\00:55:07.16 now you said some I got to stop you because 00:55:07.17\00:55:08.63 we did really, we did really put a pin 00:55:08.64\00:55:10.28 into this because you are attending 00:55:10.29\00:55:12.72 Reverend Seminar you moved into 00:55:12.73\00:55:15.22 micro CHIP but during that time 00:55:15.23\00:55:17.40 something else's happening in your life 00:55:17.41\00:55:19.17 as far as your relationship with the 00:55:19.18\00:55:21.05 Adventist church as concern. 00:55:21.06\00:55:22.22 And you said my church, right, 00:55:22.23\00:55:26.20 at my church is, okay what happened 00:55:26.21\00:55:29.47 was there because of my changes and 00:55:29.48\00:55:32.60 that you know I recognized at this 00:55:32.61\00:55:34.93 really was whole truth not the 00:55:34.94\00:55:38.29 there weren't hiding anything here. 00:55:38.30\00:55:39.76 I mean I had scientific evidence to show, 00:55:39.77\00:55:41.96 yes, that and plus my own life experience 00:55:41.97\00:55:45.53 to show that what we were being taught 00:55:45.54\00:55:47.92 was full truth by the Bible, 00:55:47.93\00:55:51.19 by the science everything this 00:55:51.20\00:55:53.28 church wasn't hiding anything. 00:55:53.29\00:55:54.81 This church was telling us full truth 00:55:54.82\00:55:56.89 and they were trying to live by the things 00:55:56.90\00:55:58.93 that they were teaching and 00:55:58.94\00:56:00.50 I made the decision for Baptism. 00:56:00.51\00:56:02.19 Praise the Lord, and I was baptized. 00:56:02.20\00:56:04.04 So you are running the CHIP program 00:56:04.05\00:56:05.50 now as the Adventist church? Yes, 00:56:05.51\00:56:06.98 I am running the program and 00:56:06.99\00:56:08.37 in fact in Savannah, Illinois in February 00:56:08.38\00:56:11.52 we will be running our six programs, wow! 00:56:11.53\00:56:13.95 Great! Your sixth program, well done! 00:56:13.96\00:56:16.27 Do we have enough time for that 00:56:16.28\00:56:17.52 two minute clips of her wedding dress story? 00:56:17.53\00:56:19.74 Actually we will do it at the top of the 00:56:19.75\00:56:21.98 second hour because we just slipped over, 00:56:21.99\00:56:24.14 it's a great story that CHIP, 00:56:24.15\00:56:26.97 I don't think you saw when you first 00:56:26.98\00:56:29.39 got a CHIP that it would be 00:56:29.40\00:56:30.37 in Evangelistic. We wanted to 00:56:30.38\00:56:34.59 help people right, indeed, 00:56:34.60\00:56:36.19 and look what happened to her, yeah, 00:56:36.20\00:56:38.03 but it's Evangelistic Endeavor and 00:56:38.04\00:56:41.37 we praise the Lord for that. 00:56:41.38\00:56:42.35 Now when we come back in the second half 00:56:42.36\00:56:45.53 Wendy also has a story because as we seen, 00:56:45.54\00:56:49.39 Nancy was moving along Wendy had left 00:56:49.40\00:56:52.65 home was not brought up in the 00:56:52.66\00:56:54.79 Adventist faith, she is now in 00:56:54.80\00:56:56.39 Adventist little rocky road, dare we say, 00:56:56.40\00:57:00.31 but once from mom began to lose weight 00:57:00.32\00:57:05.43 lifestyle change, habits changed, 00:57:05.44\00:57:08.53 and of course when you got something good 00:57:08.54\00:57:10.93 you want to share it, that's what happens 00:57:10.94\00:57:14.17 when you've got something good you want 00:57:14.18\00:57:15.26 to share it, and sometimes 00:57:15.27\00:57:16.24 when you want to share it the people 00:57:16.25\00:57:17.72 that you want to share it with 00:57:17.73\00:57:18.90 are not quite so ready to receive 00:57:18.91\00:57:21.42 what you have. So sparks fly 00:57:21.43\00:57:24.11 good doctor. And sometimes 00:57:24.12\00:57:28.22 feelings get hurt so we want to 00:57:28.23\00:57:29.64 mind that story when we come back in the 00:57:29.65\00:57:31.76 second half and we'll put the focus of 00:57:31.77\00:57:34.47 spotlight on Wendy just a little bit 00:57:34.48\00:57:36.33 and see how Nancy's experience played out 00:57:36.34\00:57:39.22 in Wendy's life, stay tune get a 00:57:39.23\00:57:41.39 drink of water come on back and 00:57:41.40\00:57:43.35 we'll see in just two minutes. 00:57:43.36\00:57:49.65
