When you think of the church,

the church is Ecclesia.

It means "the called out ones".

And the question is,

what is it that
we've been called out of?

Well, let's look at 1 Peter 2:9,

and let's notice
what the Bible says.

It says, "But ye
are a chosen generation,

a royal priesthood,
00:01:37.86\00:01:40.10
an holy nation,
a peculiar people,

that you should show
forth the praises of Him

who have called
you out of darkness
00:01:46.97\00:01:50.01
into his marvelous light."

So notice that the
Bible makes it clear

what we've been called out of.

We have been
called out of darkness.

We've been called out
of the darkness of sin

and worldliness,

and we've been called
into God's marvelous light.

You know, when
you study the Bible,

word light is applicable

to many things.

Number one: The word light
is applicable to righteousness.

We studied that in Micah 7:9.

We also know that the word light

is applicable to Jesus.

The Bible makes it
clear that Jesus is the light

of the world, in John 9:5.

The Bible also tells us

that God's commandments
are light in Proverbs 6:23.

And then in Psalms 119:105,

the Bible tells us that
God's word is also light.

So when you think about
being called out of darkness,

you're thinking about
being called into the light,

being called into God's word,

being called to
keep God's commandments,

being called to righteousness,
being called to Christ Himself.

And when this takes
place, it causes us to become

a royal priesthood,

a holy nation and

church that believes in law

but we also believe that

what's about to take place.

Which were out of context. Yeah.

Perhaps he didn't realize that
he was actually playing songs

These songs literally
were songs about having fun

concept of safely having fun,

yet there was so
many things being played

that reflected
back to the world.

done in the name of having fun

holding their concerts,

they're still
rapping, they're still doing

a lot of the
things in hip-hop culture

the cause of this

examples, all pastors,

And I kept seeing that theme
over and over and over again.

Now when we think of
this, this is a situation

in which God's people were
recently delivered from Egypt.

They had spent
multiple generations

in slavery and
bondage stripped...

virtually stripped
of all of their culture

and kind of became Egyptians
for all intents and purposes.

And now that God delivers them,

you know, from Pharaoh's armies,
00:21:52.57\00:21:54.04
the plagues, and
through the Red Sea,
00:21:54.08\00:21:55.84
and now is
bringing them to Mt. Sinai,

He calls Moses
up to the mountain
00:21:58.81\00:22:00.22
and he is going to receive
this great covenant and law
00:22:00.25\00:22:02.35
to lead his people
to the Promised Land.

While they are
waiting for Moses,
00:22:05.19\00:22:06.52
they feel that
he's gone too long.
00:22:06.55\00:22:08.32
They don't know,
they think he's dead

and they don't want to be dead.

So they want gods
to go before them.

And so what do they do?

They basically initiate worship
that they had learned in Egypt.

And they instituted the
worship of the Apis bull

which was happening in Egypt
at that time and all the cults

and the sex cults
involved with that worship.

And they made golden
calves to go before them

to represent God.

They didn't want to
worship a different God.

They made these calves
to represent the true God.

And Aaron, the high priest,
the man that was left in charge

of God's people
led out and fashioned

and made the idol himself

and put it before
the people to worship.

So then the Bible
does have a history

of even ministerial leaders

that were actually
in part and parcel with,

you know, the
leading of the people

into these false
forms of worship.

That's right.

So then that means
that what we're seeing today

is simply almost
like an antitype,

a revelation of what the Bible
was showing us in times past.

And now it's interesting
because we're going to read

a passage from Hebrews 11,

but if you continue
to read in Exodus 32,

you would notice
that God alerts Moses

to what's going on down
at the base of the mountain.
00:23:21.23\00:23:23.73
And we're talking, we're
not talking about a small group,

we're talking
about, you know, roughly,

arguably two
million people or more.

And God tells them to get down
and you have to address this.

That's right. His
anger was kindled.

God was literally
willing to execute judgment

on His people at that moment.

Moses starts to come
down and his attendant Joshua

as they start to
descend from the mountain,

they could start
to hear this noise.

They're hearing this noise.

And Joshua thinks
there's a war going on,

that there's a battle going
on down there and he's like,

"Moses, we need to
hurry up, there's war going.

Everybody's being attacked,
we need to go down and help."

And what does Moses say?

Moses says, "No,
it's not what you think.

I know exactly
what that sound is."

And what he says
is, what he acknowledges

is that the
sound that he's hearing

is a sound of worship,

but not the
worship of the true God

but false worship.

Now how on earth does Moses know

what that sound is?

What does it say in Hebrews 11?

he was a proper child,

So Moses was raised in
the royal court of Egypt.

He had achieved every level
of worldly success as possible.

says he's a full 40 years old,

meaning, by 40,
the age of maturity,

he had reached the
highest attainment levels

in every area.

So he knew...

he had this
exposure, but he knew

that he was raised up
by God to do a mighty work.

So he forsook the royal court,

forsook the possible
position in the lineage

for to take over
it one day as pharaoh

and went with his people,

because he understood
all that was involved in that

and that God was not pleased,

and God was going to deliver
His people from that culture.

And so when he
comes down the mountain,

he hears the same
worship going on at the base

of that mountain that he knows

and was
familiar with from Egypt.

And the covenant
of God was broken,

broken the covenant

and we know what happens next.

Judgment fell upon them.

calves were broken down,

the lesson that false worship

you and it is acceptable.

of that, this is how

we are seeing things
like the hip-hop church

or the gospel of hip-hop.

These are deceptions,
these are errors that is coming

and being taught to people,
even people in large places

like Kanye West,

But God wants to make
them as well as the many

that have been
influenced by this lie free.

make even the pastors

that are teaching these
things to make them free

because they are going in a path

ultimately lead to destruction

Friends, we have been
taking a look now at, you know,

the Word of God
and we're comparing it

with the activities
that we're seeing happening

in our world today.

There are many individuals
that think it is okay

to blend hip-hop
music and hip-hop culture

with Christianity,

but the Bible is declaring
something very different.

And the
challenges that we're seeing

things happening today
that are very, very perplexing,

very concerning when
even ministerial leadership

is now the ones endorsing it.

And unfortunately
people often follow pastors

before they follow the Word.

These are things that
God wants to wake us up to.

So our hope and our
prayer is that you sit tight
