Hello, I'm Lance. 00:00:29.42\00:00:30.76 And I'm Dwayne, and welcome to another episode of TKS, 00:00:30.79\00:00:34.56 A True Knowledge of Self, 00:00:34.60\00:00:36.13 where we get to know ourselves from a biblical perspective. 00:00:36.16\00:00:39.43 We have been going through several studies 00:00:39.47\00:00:41.24 where we were looking at, 00:00:41.27\00:00:42.60 not only the cornerstones of hip-hop culture 00:00:42.64\00:00:45.87 and looking at it in comparison 00:00:45.91\00:00:47.41 to the principles of the Christian culture. 00:00:47.44\00:00:50.48 But today we're going to be talking a lot 00:00:50.51\00:00:52.11 about culture in its, in and of itself, 00:00:52.15\00:00:54.22 because there's another dynamic in hip-hop culture 00:00:54.25\00:00:57.39 that we would do well to consider, 00:00:57.42\00:00:58.95 because it is a very, very forceful emphasis 00:00:58.99\00:01:02.39 or set of elements 00:01:02.42\00:01:03.99 as stated by its thought leaders 00:01:04.03\00:01:05.76 as it relates to what constitutes 00:01:05.79\00:01:07.90 hip-hop culture in its expression. 00:01:07.93\00:01:09.96 We're going to talk about that today 00:01:10.00\00:01:11.33 because there is a place for this, 00:01:11.37\00:01:13.10 because at the end of the day 00:01:13.13\00:01:14.70 everybody has feelings, everybody has thoughts. 00:01:14.74\00:01:17.67 We come from different parts of the world. 00:01:17.71\00:01:19.57 We come from different circumstances, 00:01:19.61\00:01:21.64 and as a result of that 00:01:21.68\00:01:23.21 it does produce certain thought processes, feelings 00:01:23.24\00:01:26.31 and ultimately expressions of those thoughts and feelings, 00:01:26.35\00:01:29.68 so we're going to take a look at that today 00:01:29.72\00:01:31.59 because I believe that the Word of God 00:01:31.62\00:01:33.66 has instruction for us 00:01:33.69\00:01:35.12 even as it relates to expression, 00:01:35.16\00:01:37.93 as it relates to what we express, 00:01:37.96\00:01:39.66 how we express it 00:01:39.69\00:01:41.03 and then even answering the question "Should we?" 00:01:41.06\00:01:43.57 express everything 00:01:43.60\00:01:44.93 that is on our minds and on our hearts. 00:01:44.97\00:01:46.94 Sometimes people have a way of, you know, kind of saying, 00:01:46.97\00:01:48.97 "Well, it's on my mind, I wear my feelings on my shirt," 00:01:49.00\00:01:51.34 meaning I'm going to tell you what I think 00:01:51.37\00:01:52.84 and I'm gonna tell you like it is and it is what it is. 00:01:52.87\00:01:55.08 It's who I am and it's what I'm about. 00:01:55.11\00:01:56.91 Like it or love it. 00:01:56.95\00:01:58.28 And this is kind of an attitude 00:01:58.31\00:01:59.68 that you can see happen in various points of society 00:01:59.71\00:02:02.32 as well as in hip-hop culture, 00:02:02.35\00:02:03.82 and we're going to talk about this today 00:02:03.85\00:02:05.19 because there are some elements in hip-hop culture 00:02:05.22\00:02:08.32 that we need to consider 00:02:08.36\00:02:09.79 and, Lance, we know that some of these elements 00:02:09.82\00:02:12.49 are things that we ourselves participated in. 00:02:12.53\00:02:15.56 An example, break in or break dancing. 00:02:15.60\00:02:18.60 Of course, MCing which is where you get into the rapping. 00:02:18.63\00:02:21.57 Then you have DJing, then, of course, 00:02:21.60\00:02:23.87 you have your expression through graffiti artwork 00:02:23.91\00:02:26.88 and from that you have, 00:02:26.91\00:02:28.94 you know, these would be the first four elements 00:02:28.98\00:02:31.31 and then as Afrika Bambaataa 00:02:31.35\00:02:32.91 would often say the fifth element 00:02:32.95\00:02:34.72 which is the knowledge, the wisdom 00:02:34.75\00:02:36.08 and the under or over standing, 00:02:36.12\00:02:37.92 and from that there were other expressions 00:02:37.95\00:02:40.99 that would come out of that everything from, 00:02:41.02\00:02:43.39 you know, street fashion to street style dancing 00:02:43.43\00:02:47.50 or even street style entrepreneurship 00:02:47.53\00:02:50.17 which is very interesting, you know. 00:02:50.20\00:02:51.90 So there's lots of elements that make up hip-hop culture 00:02:51.93\00:02:56.47 which ultimately is expression. 00:02:56.50\00:02:58.74 It boils down to expression. 00:02:58.77\00:03:01.08 Things is happening 00:03:01.11\00:03:02.58 within a certain group of class of people 00:03:02.61\00:03:04.81 and from that this is the way 00:03:04.85\00:03:06.65 that they're expressing themselves. 00:03:06.68\00:03:08.38 And I remember when I used to study martial arts 00:03:08.42\00:03:11.19 and when I studied it, 00:03:11.22\00:03:12.65 I looked at many different disciplines. 00:03:12.69\00:03:14.46 I took taekwondo, I took shuriken 00:03:14.49\00:03:16.96 and a lot of these other things. 00:03:16.99\00:03:18.33 And as I stated before for clarity, you know, 00:03:18.36\00:03:20.60 especially for our viewers, these are things today 00:03:20.63\00:03:23.77 that I would not advocate 00:03:23.80\00:03:25.27 because I see them adverse to Christian principle, 00:03:25.30\00:03:28.27 so I'm not an advocate of the practice of martial arts 00:03:28.30\00:03:32.37 as it is being demonstrated in our world today. 00:03:32.41\00:03:34.78 Nevertheless in my past these were real experiences, 00:03:34.81\00:03:37.75 and I was doing studies 00:03:37.78\00:03:39.31 because I remember there was a martial art form 00:03:39.35\00:03:41.28 that really caught my attention 00:03:41.32\00:03:43.28 and it was a amalgamation of martial arts and dancing. 00:03:43.32\00:03:47.69 It was called Capoeira 00:03:47.72\00:03:49.12 which was birthed out of Brazil, 00:03:49.16\00:03:51.66 and what was interesting is that 00:03:51.69\00:03:53.70 because the people did not want to be identified 00:03:53.73\00:03:58.10 by what was happening in that time 00:03:58.13\00:04:00.20 as it relates to the military 00:04:00.24\00:04:01.57 and being looked upon as possible revolutionaries, 00:04:01.60\00:04:05.51 you know, if they see you practicing martial arts, 00:04:05.54\00:04:07.64 then this would suddenly become 00:04:07.68\00:04:10.45 a potential danger to the government at that time. 00:04:10.48\00:04:13.31 Then they started to disguise their martial art practices 00:04:13.35\00:04:16.92 in the form of dancing. 00:04:16.95\00:04:18.45 And lo and behold, this is how the Capoeira style was birthed, 00:04:18.49\00:04:21.09 you know, this dancing martial art form. 00:04:21.12\00:04:23.26 Well, today, that's even been engrafted now 00:04:23.29\00:04:25.29 even into the various forms of expression in hip-hop culture, 00:04:25.33\00:04:28.80 where there's a lot of jumping and flipping and etcetera 00:04:28.83\00:04:31.13 which fits very much with the breaking. 00:04:31.17\00:04:33.23 And these things are considered to be cultural. 00:04:33.27\00:04:36.10 They are considered to be forms of expression 00:04:36.14\00:04:38.64 and no one wants to be suppressed, 00:04:38.67\00:04:42.08 no one wants to feel like, "Why can't I express myself? 00:04:42.11\00:04:44.91 I have a right to express myself." 00:04:44.95\00:04:46.68 And the way we've been talking about hip-hop culture 00:04:46.72\00:04:49.45 over the past several episodes, 00:04:49.48\00:04:51.42 it would seem 00:04:51.45\00:04:52.85 that we are probably saying to people, 00:04:52.89\00:04:55.79 hip-hop culture is something 00:04:55.82\00:04:57.29 that is adverse to Christianity, 00:04:57.33\00:04:58.86 adverse to the Bible, 00:04:58.89\00:05:00.30 and as a result of that, it should be suppressed, 00:05:00.33\00:05:02.70 and it is possible that somebody may say, 00:05:02.73\00:05:05.20 "Well, then wait a minute. 00:05:05.23\00:05:06.60 If you're saying that this culture 00:05:06.63\00:05:09.00 should not be allowed to express themselves, 00:05:09.04\00:05:12.17 then how would you explain something 00:05:12.21\00:05:13.88 like 1 Corinthians 9. 00:05:13.91\00:05:15.51 You know, this happens sometimes. 00:05:15.54\00:05:16.88 You know, you talk about principles, 00:05:16.91\00:05:18.25 and you make certain standards, 00:05:18.28\00:05:19.65 and then people kind of throw it back at you. 00:05:19.68\00:05:21.58 So I'm going to take us to 1 Corinthians 9 00:05:21.62\00:05:24.15 and we're going to consider it, 00:05:24.19\00:05:25.52 and I'm going to ask you to give us a comment on it 00:05:25.55\00:05:27.79 because I believe that 00:05:27.82\00:05:29.69 individuals very well may use this text to say, 00:05:29.72\00:05:32.33 "Hey, well, what about this and how do we apply it?" 00:05:32.36\00:05:34.60 So I'm going to ask you to help us out with that, right? 00:05:34.63\00:05:36.63 So we're gonna look at 1 Corinthians 9, 00:05:36.67\00:05:39.63 and we're going to consider what the Bible says 00:05:39.67\00:05:41.27 as we look at verses 19-22, 00:05:41.30\00:05:44.41 and here's what the Bible says, 00:05:44.44\00:05:45.77 the Apostle Paul was talking about soul winning, 00:05:45.81\00:05:48.81 and he says in verse 19, 00:05:48.84\00:05:51.01 "For though I be free from all men, 00:05:51.05\00:05:53.62 yet have I made myself servant unto all, 00:05:53.65\00:05:56.65 that I might gain the more. 00:05:56.69\00:05:58.05 And unto the Jews 00:05:58.09\00:05:59.95 I became as a Jew that I might gain the Jews, 00:05:59.99\00:06:03.99 to then that are under the law as under the law, 00:06:04.03\00:06:07.36 that I might game them that are under the law. 00:06:07.40\00:06:09.46 To them that are without law, as without law, 00:06:09.50\00:06:13.00 being not without law to God, 00:06:13.03\00:06:14.37 but under the law to Christ 00:06:14.40\00:06:15.77 that I might gain them that are without law. 00:06:15.80\00:06:18.31 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak. 00:06:18.34\00:06:21.91 I am made all things to all men 00:06:21.94\00:06:24.18 that I might by all means save some." 00:06:24.21\00:06:27.68 So here goes Paul, you know, really expressing his love 00:06:27.72\00:06:30.82 and his desire to win souls to Jesus, 00:06:30.85\00:06:33.56 and he is expressing it to such a point that he says, 00:06:33.59\00:06:36.09 "Listen, if I need to become like the Jew 00:06:36.12\00:06:39.76 so that I can reach the Jew, I'm willing to do it. 00:06:39.79\00:06:42.36 If I need to become like the Gentile, 00:06:42.40\00:06:44.30 I'm going to be like the Gentile 00:06:44.33\00:06:45.83 that I can win them. 00:06:45.87\00:06:47.20 He's willing to become whatever it takes 00:06:47.24\00:06:48.57 to win others. 00:06:48.60\00:06:49.94 Well, this may be a rationale that's used 00:06:49.97\00:06:51.91 even in hip-hop culture to say, 00:06:51.94\00:06:53.27 "Listen, the hip-hop culture deals 00:06:53.31\00:06:55.74 with a lot of what was happening in the streets 00:06:55.78\00:06:57.88 and therefore to those in the street, 00:06:57.91\00:06:59.48 we have to become like those in the street. 00:06:59.51\00:07:02.12 So what is wrong with us 00:07:02.15\00:07:03.72 being able to practice certain things 00:07:03.75\00:07:06.02 as it relates to the culture of the street 00:07:06.05\00:07:08.12 and being able to reach those in the streets. 00:07:08.16\00:07:10.43 This is something that I'm sure one would ask 00:07:10.46\00:07:12.93 or at least think of when we're talking 00:07:12.96\00:07:14.66 about the art forms of expression 00:07:14.70\00:07:16.93 in hip-hop culture and should it be done, 00:07:16.97\00:07:19.03 should it not be done? 00:07:19.07\00:07:20.40 Where is it permissible, where is it not permissible? 00:07:20.44\00:07:22.64 If you can, share some light with us on this? 00:07:22.67\00:07:24.51 Yeah, I mean, the same principle applies 00:07:24.54\00:07:26.61 as we've been going through all these things 00:07:26.64\00:07:28.71 like we're talking about recreation 00:07:28.74\00:07:30.95 and what is acceptable, 00:07:30.98\00:07:32.35 what is really genuine having fun, you know, 00:07:32.38\00:07:36.05 from a biblical perspective, 00:07:36.08\00:07:37.65 and the bottom line is the principles are there, 00:07:37.69\00:07:40.46 so for example, 00:07:40.49\00:07:41.82 if we look at the principle of 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 00:07:41.86\00:07:46.96 that showed us that our bodies are not our own, 00:07:47.00\00:07:51.60 they're the temple of God, the temple of the Holy Ghost, 00:07:51.63\00:07:54.97 and that we are to glorify God in our body 00:07:55.00\00:07:57.34 and in our spirit which are God's, 00:07:57.37\00:07:59.31 so we highlighted the fact 00:07:59.34\00:08:00.68 that we're not at liberty to do what we want, 00:08:00.71\00:08:02.64 whatever we want with our bodies 00:08:02.68\00:08:05.08 or with our spiritual preferences 00:08:05.11\00:08:06.45 or what have you. 00:08:06.48\00:08:07.82 We're not, we're not able, 00:08:07.85\00:08:09.18 we don't have the right to live the way we want to live, 00:08:09.22\00:08:12.95 because God has created us, 00:08:12.99\00:08:14.72 and because God has redeemed us through the death of Christ, 00:08:14.76\00:08:18.33 in the resurrection of Christ, in the ministry of Christ, 00:08:18.36\00:08:20.80 we are obligated, 00:08:20.83\00:08:22.30 we are bound eternally to this service to God. 00:08:22.33\00:08:27.47 He owns us if you will, 00:08:27.50\00:08:29.94 and we have to be okay with that. 00:08:29.97\00:08:31.34 We become His possession, 00:08:31.37\00:08:32.71 we become His child if you will. 00:08:32.74\00:08:35.08 We become his spouse if you will, 00:08:35.11\00:08:36.71 it's a full relationship. 00:08:36.75\00:08:39.61 So when we think of that 00:08:39.65\00:08:40.98 and we're talking about reaching others. 00:08:41.02\00:08:44.52 And we want to say, "All right, we want to become like them 00:08:44.55\00:08:47.42 to get close to them." 00:08:47.46\00:08:48.99 So I remember I had a friend once 00:08:49.02\00:08:51.53 who came from, you know, the inner city in New York 00:08:51.56\00:08:55.26 and he grew up kind of in the bar culture and know... 00:08:55.30\00:08:58.37 Right. 00:08:58.40\00:08:59.73 It's another little subculture, you know, 00:08:59.77\00:09:01.50 the people that literally almost live 00:09:01.54\00:09:03.24 at these local bars 00:09:03.27\00:09:05.01 and he was alcoholic obviously 00:09:05.04\00:09:07.01 and he left that to become a Christian, 00:09:07.04\00:09:10.88 and he had a desire to go and reach those people 00:09:10.91\00:09:13.05 that he kind of left behind, you know, in that same culture. 00:09:13.08\00:09:17.02 And he had the idea that he was going to go 00:09:17.05\00:09:19.22 and gauge in like a bar ministry, 00:09:19.25\00:09:21.72 he was going to go in ministry to visit these bars, 00:09:21.76\00:09:25.83 to try to win the alcoholics 00:09:25.86\00:09:28.30 and the people that he hung around with 00:09:28.33\00:09:29.73 at these bars 00:09:29.76\00:09:31.10 and we, you know, for many, many reasons, 00:09:31.13\00:09:33.13 this is not a good idea 00:09:33.17\00:09:34.84 because you are telling God 00:09:34.87\00:09:37.14 how you're going to reach the people 00:09:37.17\00:09:38.67 that you desire to reach 00:09:38.71\00:09:40.04 instead of consulting with God to figure out 00:09:40.08\00:09:42.24 how He wants you to reach those people, 00:09:42.28\00:09:44.88 and thinking that I have to go into a bar, sit at a bar, 00:09:44.91\00:09:49.28 you know, hang out at a bar when, you know, 00:09:49.32\00:09:51.39 maybe six months or less than a year ago, 00:09:51.42\00:09:54.29 I was sitting at the bar drinking 00:09:54.32\00:09:56.76 and I was an alcoholic, 00:09:56.79\00:09:58.19 and now I'm going to put myself in the situation 00:09:58.23\00:10:00.63 where all of that temptation and all of those triggers 00:10:00.66\00:10:03.67 and psychological triggers are going to be there, 00:10:03.70\00:10:05.77 and I'm just going to demand that God protects me. 00:10:05.80\00:10:07.87 Now somebody might say, "Well, wait a minute, 00:10:07.90\00:10:09.70 didn't Christ mingle with sinners? 00:10:09.74\00:10:11.34 Didn't Christ sit down with sinners? 00:10:11.37\00:10:13.07 So why can't I go in a bar and sit down with sinners? 00:10:13.11\00:10:15.51 I'm following the example of Christ." 00:10:15.54\00:10:17.45 How would we help an individual 00:10:17.48\00:10:18.81 if they were to use that interpretation? 00:10:18.85\00:10:20.22 Well, the key is this. 00:10:20.25\00:10:21.72 The key is that we are never allowed, 00:10:21.75\00:10:25.42 never authorized to compromise truth 00:10:25.45\00:10:28.69 for the sake of reaching a soul, 00:10:28.72\00:10:30.93 so, you know, it's like the idea of a white lie. 00:10:30.96\00:10:34.23 There is no such thing. Lying is a sin. 00:10:34.26\00:10:37.57 It is a violation of the covenant with God. 00:10:37.60\00:10:40.34 So I can't tell a lie in order to escape, you know, 00:10:40.37\00:10:44.37 there are all these role playing scenarios 00:10:44.41\00:10:46.01 sometimes they doing like, 00:10:46.04\00:10:47.41 you know, churches and youth groups 00:10:47.44\00:10:48.78 and say what would you do 00:10:48.81\00:10:50.15 if such and such and such and such. 00:10:50.18\00:10:51.61 The bottom line is, in any situation 00:10:51.65\00:10:54.82 it is never permissible, 00:10:54.85\00:10:56.42 it's never safe to violate your commitment to God, 00:10:56.45\00:11:00.32 to commit sin, to compromise truth 00:11:00.36\00:11:03.19 in order to reach an individual. 00:11:03.22\00:11:04.63 So when you say, 00:11:04.66\00:11:05.99 "Oh, well, Jesus went to all these places." 00:11:06.03\00:11:07.53 Well that's a situation 00:11:07.56\00:11:08.90 where He got invited to somebody's house 00:11:08.93\00:11:11.00 to eat dinner. 00:11:11.03\00:11:12.93 Jesus is not, you know, in this scenario 00:11:12.97\00:11:16.37 is not going to reject an invitation 00:11:16.40\00:11:18.47 to eat dinner at somebody's house 00:11:18.51\00:11:20.38 because, you know, there might be people, 00:11:20.41\00:11:22.94 you know, drinking wine at the table, at the dinner table. 00:11:22.98\00:11:25.25 Right. 00:11:25.28\00:11:26.61 You know, that, that wasn't the issue, 00:11:26.65\00:11:27.98 the issue that the Jews had 00:11:28.02\00:11:29.35 is they thought that you were spiritually defiled literally 00:11:29.38\00:11:33.22 if you even shared space with a "sinner". 00:11:33.25\00:11:36.73 If you shook the hand of a sinner, 00:11:36.76\00:11:38.49 and if you engaged in this level of intimacy 00:11:38.53\00:11:40.96 and sharing a meal with a sinner, 00:11:41.00\00:11:43.70 it was considered socially taboo. 00:11:43.73\00:11:46.20 So this is the critique that they had with Jesus. 00:11:46.23\00:11:48.04 He wasn't going, necessarily going to a bar 00:11:48.07\00:11:50.84 and ministering to people, 00:11:50.87\00:11:52.21 He was going to somebody's house to eat dinner 00:11:52.24\00:11:53.88 as an invited guest, as an honored guest, 00:11:53.91\00:11:56.14 and immediately what you always notice with Christ is, 00:11:56.18\00:11:58.65 as soon as He entered into the scene, 00:11:58.68\00:12:01.65 He always directed all of the audience 00:12:01.68\00:12:04.62 to the kingdom of God. 00:12:04.65\00:12:06.62 He used it as a deliberate means 00:12:06.65\00:12:08.86 to direct people to the kingdom, 00:12:08.89\00:12:10.43 not as some means 00:12:10.46\00:12:11.79 just to hang out at a party or hang out somewhere 00:12:11.83\00:12:13.73 and hopefully people might become friendly 00:12:13.76\00:12:16.80 and somehow He might be able to do something later. 00:12:16.83\00:12:19.33 It wasn't, you know, friendship evangelism. 00:12:19.37\00:12:22.00 He was designed to be their friend, 00:12:22.04\00:12:24.57 but He was deliberately overtly directing them 00:12:24.61\00:12:27.68 to the kingdom of heaven. 00:12:27.71\00:12:29.04 So let's make an application. 00:12:29.08\00:12:30.41 So when Christ would go into an environment 00:12:30.45\00:12:32.75 with the worst sinners, 00:12:32.78\00:12:34.35 He would go to where they are and meet them. 00:12:34.38\00:12:36.65 Yes. 00:12:36.69\00:12:38.02 And when He went there, 00:12:38.05\00:12:39.62 what He did was always create a forum 00:12:39.65\00:12:44.83 that He can have a holy influence to the people. 00:12:44.86\00:12:47.90 Yes. 00:12:47.93\00:12:49.26 This is what Christ did 00:12:49.30\00:12:50.63 when He ate and drank with sinners. 00:12:50.67\00:12:52.00 What Christ did not do was simply go there 00:12:52.03\00:12:55.34 and just indulge in their conversation, 00:12:55.37\00:12:57.64 indulge in their music, indulge in their food, 00:12:57.67\00:13:00.58 and indulge in this and indulge in that, 00:13:00.61\00:13:02.54 and just think that because His presence was there 00:13:02.58\00:13:05.11 that somehow this is going to have 00:13:05.15\00:13:06.48 a witnessing effect to the people. 00:13:06.51\00:13:07.88 Right. This is what He did not do. 00:13:07.92\00:13:10.12 All right, well, this is important then 00:13:10.15\00:13:11.49 because I can remember in my experience 00:13:11.52\00:13:13.92 when I was trying to evangelize a friend of mine, 00:13:13.96\00:13:16.56 and he and I used to love playing video games, 00:13:16.59\00:13:19.29 and I started getting convicted on several levels 00:13:19.33\00:13:21.43 about my video game times. 00:13:21.46\00:13:22.80 Number one, it was a waste of time. 00:13:22.83\00:13:24.17 I mean, I wasn't developing, growing, 00:13:24.20\00:13:25.53 I wasn't getting any better in any area of life really, 00:13:25.57\00:13:28.17 so I had a problem with that 00:13:28.20\00:13:29.60 because I believe in development. 00:13:29.64\00:13:31.14 Nevertheless, I also felt that the games we were playing 00:13:31.17\00:13:35.11 was not good for my mind, 00:13:35.14\00:13:36.61 because we would play martial art game, 00:13:36.64\00:13:38.58 Tekken and Mortal Combat and these type of games 00:13:38.61\00:13:42.38 where you're pulling people's heads out of their bodies 00:13:42.42\00:13:45.79 and this horrible gory stuff. 00:13:45.82\00:13:47.66 So I got convicted about it. 00:13:47.69\00:13:49.02 I said, you know, I can't do this anymore. 00:13:49.06\00:13:50.39 I don't think this is right. 00:13:50.43\00:13:51.76 How can I say thou shalt not kill, 00:13:51.79\00:13:53.13 and I'm entertaining myself killing people? 00:13:53.16\00:13:54.56 So it didn't make sense. 00:13:54.60\00:13:56.06 Well, I wanted to win my buddy, 00:13:56.10\00:13:58.47 so I would go to his house and just say, 00:13:58.50\00:14:00.30 "Hey, you know, let's hang out, let's talk." 00:14:00.34\00:14:03.07 And I tried to witness to him by just being present. 00:14:03.10\00:14:06.98 He knew I was a Christian 00:14:07.01\00:14:08.54 and I try to be present but he would always say, 00:14:08.58\00:14:10.41 "Come on, man, let's play the game." 00:14:10.45\00:14:11.95 And, you know, after a while I was like, 00:14:11.98\00:14:13.48 "No, I don't want to play," and then he was like, 00:14:13.52\00:14:14.95 "Come on, man, let's play the game. 00:14:14.98\00:14:16.35 And before you know it, I was like, 00:14:16.38\00:14:17.72 all right, all right, all right and before you know, 00:14:17.75\00:14:19.09 I'm ripping people's heads off and everything else, 00:14:19.12\00:14:20.86 and I have literally damaged my witness, 00:14:20.89\00:14:22.89 because how am I going to go to him later on and say, 00:14:22.92\00:14:24.26 "Hey, that's wrong," 00:14:24.29\00:14:25.63 and the first thing he's going to say is, 00:14:25.66\00:14:27.00 "You were doing it with me," 00:14:27.03\00:14:28.56 you know, so it damaged my witness, 00:14:28.60\00:14:30.53 so instead of me evangelizing him, 00:14:30.57\00:14:32.30 I got evangelized... 00:14:32.33\00:14:33.67 That's right. 00:14:33.70\00:14:35.04 And that's another thing we have to be careful of. 00:14:35.07\00:14:36.40 The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 10:12, 00:14:36.44\00:14:38.51 "Let a man take heed 00:14:38.54\00:14:40.68 when he thinks he stands lest he falls." 00:14:40.71\00:14:43.78 Galatians 6:1 says, you know, 00:14:43.81\00:14:45.55 "Ye which are spiritual restore individuals 00:14:45.58\00:14:47.88 back to the Lord," but it says 00:14:47.92\00:14:49.25 but consider yourself lest you also be tempted, 00:14:49.28\00:14:52.45 so this is something important when we're thinking about. 00:14:52.49\00:14:55.19 "I'm going to go in the streets 00:14:55.22\00:14:56.56 to reach the people in the streets 00:14:56.59\00:14:57.93 and I'll become like those in the streets 00:14:57.96\00:14:59.83 that I can win them. 00:14:59.86\00:15:01.20 There are some serious limitations 00:15:01.23\00:15:03.67 that we have to watch out for 00:15:03.70\00:15:05.03 but what are the things that are permissible? 00:15:05.07\00:15:07.07 What would be a practical example of 1 Corinthians 9 00:15:07.10\00:15:11.04 and ministering to those that are in the streets 00:15:11.07\00:15:13.11 and meeting them where they are in their culture 00:15:13.14\00:15:16.54 and not violating principle. 00:15:16.58\00:15:18.75 Yeah, I mean, you depending whether or not 00:15:18.78\00:15:21.68 you're a member of that community, 00:15:21.72\00:15:23.15 you go, you can go to where the people are. 00:15:23.18\00:15:25.82 It is absurd, you know, as a Christian church to think 00:15:25.85\00:15:31.19 that all of the sinners 00:15:31.23\00:15:32.56 are going to just come to your church. 00:15:32.59\00:15:33.93 They're going to just come to where you are 00:15:33.96\00:15:35.80 and come to your services, 00:15:35.83\00:15:37.17 however many times that might be once a week, 00:15:37.20\00:15:39.13 two times, three times a week, every day, 00:15:39.17\00:15:41.34 so that is not the role of the church, 00:15:41.37\00:15:43.87 the role of the church is to go and to make disciples 00:15:43.91\00:15:46.71 of all nations, right? 00:15:46.74\00:15:48.51 Rich, poor, free, bond, male, female, everyone is deserving, 00:15:48.54\00:15:53.18 and I wouldn't say deserving in the sense that God owes them 00:15:53.21\00:15:57.32 but God is love and He has made provision 00:15:57.35\00:16:00.49 for everyone to be saved and God desires, 00:16:00.52\00:16:03.12 deeply desires beyond our comprehension 00:16:03.16\00:16:04.93 for every single person, 00:16:04.96\00:16:06.29 every human being that He has created to be saved, 00:16:06.33\00:16:08.43 no matter what their present condition, 00:16:08.46\00:16:10.00 no matter what things they have done. 00:16:10.03\00:16:12.63 So God has chosen those individuals 00:16:12.67\00:16:14.77 who have come to Him and accepted Him 00:16:14.80\00:16:16.74 to then go out and to reach others, 00:16:16.77\00:16:19.87 so we ought to go and make disciples 00:16:19.91\00:16:22.18 and in order to do that, 00:16:22.21\00:16:23.55 we have to go to where they are, 00:16:23.58\00:16:24.91 whether that be in the inner city, 00:16:24.95\00:16:26.72 whether that be in the suburb, 00:16:26.75\00:16:28.08 whether that be in a rich neighborhood, 00:16:28.12\00:16:29.45 poor neighborhood, bad neighborhood, 00:16:29.48\00:16:30.82 whether that be homeless people wherever, 00:16:30.85\00:16:32.45 so we have to find ways 00:16:32.49\00:16:34.19 in which God minister to people, 00:16:34.22\00:16:36.06 I mean, that's the best example. 00:16:36.09\00:16:37.43 You look at what Jesus did. 00:16:37.46\00:16:38.89 What did Jesus do? 00:16:38.93\00:16:40.26 Matthew 4:23 says that Jesus went about all Galilee, 00:16:40.30\00:16:43.63 teaching in their synagogues 00:16:43.67\00:16:45.10 and preaching the gospel of the kingdom 00:16:45.13\00:16:46.70 and healing all manner of sickness 00:16:46.74\00:16:48.50 and all manner of disease among the people, 00:16:48.54\00:16:50.51 so that's the kind of a guy, that's a practical guideline 00:16:50.54\00:16:52.91 where we're supposed to go everywhere... 00:16:52.94\00:16:54.34 Right. 00:16:54.38\00:16:55.71 ..preaching, teaching, and healing. 00:16:55.74\00:16:57.65 Well, how do you do that, you know, so it goes on and on 00:16:57.68\00:16:59.71 because the questions will keep coming 00:16:59.75\00:17:01.08 as we identify new, 00:17:01.12\00:17:02.95 you know, practical measures to take, 00:17:02.98\00:17:04.69 but we need to go and ministers to the people as Christ did. 00:17:04.72\00:17:08.06 He was constantly present with those that were in need. 00:17:08.09\00:17:10.93 As He said many, many times, 00:17:10.96\00:17:12.79 the well, those that are well or healthy 00:17:12.83\00:17:15.40 are not in need of a physician, 00:17:15.43\00:17:17.07 but those that are sick 00:17:17.10\00:17:18.43 and you could try to keep telling 00:17:18.47\00:17:19.80 the Jewish leadership 00:17:19.83\00:17:21.17 that's why I'm here with these people 00:17:21.20\00:17:23.00 that you call sinners because they need help. 00:17:23.04\00:17:25.44 That's right. 00:17:25.47\00:17:26.81 You guys are sinners just like them and even worse 00:17:26.84\00:17:29.34 because you don't even think you need help. 00:17:29.38\00:17:31.51 So the idea that Jesus says like in Matthew 11, 00:17:31.55\00:17:36.15 "Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden 00:17:36.18\00:17:39.25 and I will give you rest," right? 00:17:39.29\00:17:42.19 He's not looking for you to make all these changes 00:17:42.22\00:17:44.76 and then come to Him. 00:17:44.79\00:17:46.23 With the invitation that the gospel offers 00:17:46.26\00:17:48.63 is for you to come to Him as you are, 00:17:48.66\00:17:51.63 but you have to be willing to accept the change 00:17:51.67\00:17:54.54 that He is going to provide once you come to Him, 00:17:54.57\00:17:56.77 so there is going to be a change 00:17:56.81\00:17:58.44 but you can come as you are. 00:17:58.47\00:18:00.11 So in order to walk into church, 00:18:00.14\00:18:01.61 you don't need to come off the street, 00:18:01.64\00:18:03.95 you're not a Christian, you don't know, 00:18:03.98\00:18:05.31 you don't need to dress this way or that, 00:18:05.35\00:18:07.82 you can come in as you are, 00:18:07.85\00:18:09.38 but understand that as you come in 00:18:09.42\00:18:10.82 and accept the gospel, 00:18:10.85\00:18:12.19 it's going to, Christ is offering change. 00:18:12.22\00:18:13.69 He's offering something better, 00:18:13.72\00:18:15.49 so number one, 00:18:15.52\00:18:16.86 you're letting people come to you as they are. 00:18:16.89\00:18:19.79 You're not sitting there and trying to change people 00:18:19.83\00:18:21.53 and make people, you know, 00:18:21.56\00:18:23.13 have some kind of compulsory attitude 00:18:23.16\00:18:25.17 towards religious, you know, observance 00:18:25.20\00:18:27.37 or some intellectual assent to knowledge, 00:18:27.40\00:18:29.80 but it's a relationship 00:18:29.84\00:18:31.47 so you don't just walk up to a person and say, 00:18:31.51\00:18:33.84 "We're going to get married," you know, 00:18:33.88\00:18:35.21 there's a relationship that's involved, 00:18:35.24\00:18:36.75 so you treat it the same way 00:18:36.78\00:18:38.55 so I'm going to come and develop. 00:18:38.58\00:18:40.95 There's a book that I like, 00:18:40.98\00:18:43.85 you know, it's one of my favorites, 00:18:43.89\00:18:45.22 it's called the Ministry of Healing 00:18:45.25\00:18:46.99 and on page 143, 00:18:47.02\00:18:50.79 it talks about Christ's methods 00:18:50.83\00:18:52.69 and it's just articulating what the Bible says... 00:18:52.73\00:18:54.80 Sure. 00:18:54.83\00:18:56.16 ..like we just read in Matthew 4 00:18:56.20\00:18:57.53 but it says that Christ method alone 00:18:57.57\00:18:59.10 will bring true success in reaching the people. 00:18:59.13\00:19:01.50 That's right. 00:19:01.54\00:19:02.87 It says that the Savior mingled with men 00:19:02.90\00:19:04.64 as one who desired their good 00:19:04.67\00:19:06.24 is that He showed sympathy to them, 00:19:06.27\00:19:08.41 ministered to their needs and won their confidence, 00:19:08.44\00:19:10.98 then He bade them follow me, 00:19:11.01\00:19:13.08 so even Jesus understood that there are barriers, 00:19:13.11\00:19:16.48 that sin has separated man from God, 00:19:16.52\00:19:20.49 so in order for man to come back, 00:19:20.52\00:19:22.22 there's things that need to take place 00:19:22.26\00:19:23.59 that we've talked about but it is a process. 00:19:23.63\00:19:26.36 It is a process of growth and development 00:19:26.39\00:19:28.33 and there is a willingness that the person has to have, 00:19:28.36\00:19:30.30 so I can't make them do anything, 00:19:30.33\00:19:31.67 so I need to go to where they are 00:19:31.70\00:19:33.03 and minister to their needs. 00:19:33.07\00:19:34.60 I need to show sympathy, 00:19:34.64\00:19:35.97 I need to win their confidence before I say, 00:19:36.00\00:19:38.04 "Hey, you know, get baptized, become a Christian. 00:19:38.07\00:19:40.84 Study your Bible, do all these things, 00:19:40.88\00:19:42.31 " I have to treat them as I would treat a child 00:19:42.34\00:19:46.45 who I'm trying to teach a lesson 00:19:46.48\00:19:48.45 and not in a demeaning sense, not literally like a child, 00:19:48.48\00:19:51.95 but the same way that you would try 00:19:51.99\00:19:53.32 to educate a person in any line 00:19:53.36\00:19:55.89 with care and consideration and He want them to understand. 00:19:55.92\00:19:58.49 He want them to grow and develop. 00:19:58.53\00:20:00.96 He want them to, you know, do something better and change. 00:20:01.00\00:20:04.40 Make a change. 00:20:04.43\00:20:05.77 Then I am going to make every effort possible 00:20:05.80\00:20:07.94 without compromising the truth. 00:20:07.97\00:20:10.07 I am not gonna drink... 00:20:10.11\00:20:11.44 As a matter of fact, that reminds me. 00:20:11.47\00:20:14.48 When I was first beginning in my study of the Bible after, 00:20:14.51\00:20:19.41 you know, reading, you know, over 50 books 00:20:19.45\00:20:21.85 and different religions and, you know, 00:20:21.88\00:20:23.49 passing through all of this confusion, 00:20:23.52\00:20:25.62 I started to kind of get settled in the truth 00:20:25.65\00:20:28.99 and I had already made decisions in my mind 00:20:29.02\00:20:31.03 that I was going to no longer drink, 00:20:31.06\00:20:32.66 no longer smoke, no longer do this. 00:20:32.69\00:20:34.46 I changed my diet 00:20:34.50\00:20:35.83 because I saw in all religions to this health emphasis, 00:20:35.86\00:20:38.27 no pork, and no red meat and all this stuff, 00:20:38.30\00:20:41.10 so when I started actually visiting churches, 00:20:41.14\00:20:44.11 you know, before I was baptized 00:20:44.14\00:20:45.47 and before I made an official decision, 00:20:45.51\00:20:46.94 but I was kind of settling into the truth, 00:20:46.98\00:20:49.44 I would still go and hang out with my old crew 00:20:49.48\00:20:52.75 and they understood the changes I was making, 00:20:52.78\00:20:55.42 so, you know, how it gets, 00:20:55.45\00:20:56.79 you know, some people that understand, 00:20:56.82\00:20:58.15 "Oh, now, you're a Christian," so, you know, 00:20:58.19\00:20:59.85 they curse around you and they'd be like, 00:20:59.89\00:21:01.22 "Oh, oh, sorry," you know, you don't care for, 00:21:01.26\00:21:03.63 his brother is a Christian now, we can't do these things. 00:21:03.66\00:21:06.16 But I remember what we used to do when we get together. 00:21:06.19\00:21:08.76 We always smoke. 00:21:08.80\00:21:10.13 We're always, you know, smoking weed, 00:21:10.17\00:21:11.50 we were always drinking just in passing, you know, 00:21:11.53\00:21:13.94 just to pass the time and so lo and behold, 00:21:13.97\00:21:17.67 I'm at a friend's house 00:21:17.71\00:21:19.04 and they're getting ready to do, 00:21:19.07\00:21:20.41 you know, their ritual 00:21:20.44\00:21:22.14 and they almost get to the point 00:21:22.18\00:21:24.41 where we're about to light up 00:21:24.45\00:21:25.78 and then I'm sitting there on the couch and they're like, 00:21:25.81\00:21:27.15 "Oh, no, no, no," you know, let's not, you know, 00:21:27.18\00:21:29.92 Lance doesn't smoke anymore, 00:21:29.95\00:21:31.29 let's not smoke in front of him, 00:21:31.32\00:21:32.65 and so they all went in another room 00:21:32.69\00:21:34.02 to do what they are doing, 00:21:34.06\00:21:35.42 I just sat on the couch like there by myself, 00:21:35.46\00:21:37.23 you know, wondering, 00:21:37.26\00:21:38.99 and obviously I started to realize 00:21:39.03\00:21:41.70 that I'm not really making any impact whatsoever 00:21:41.73\00:21:46.74 and this whole idea that, 00:21:46.77\00:21:48.20 you know, they smoke over there and I'm over here, 00:21:48.24\00:21:49.97 I'm like, what am I doing right now. 00:21:50.01\00:21:51.34 Right, right. 00:21:51.37\00:21:52.71 It even got so bad that at for many, many like months, 00:21:52.74\00:21:55.74 if I think of it right, I used to actually prepare. 00:21:55.78\00:21:58.75 I used to take the weed, break it up, roll it and then, 00:21:58.78\00:22:02.05 you know, you know, give it to them to smoke, 00:22:02.08\00:22:05.09 so I was still part and, you know, 00:22:05.12\00:22:06.45 still engaging in half in and half out in that area. 00:22:06.49\00:22:11.36 You know my friend used to... 00:22:11.39\00:22:13.26 that same group we used to be in his, 00:22:13.29\00:22:16.97 you know, room and smoking 00:22:17.00\00:22:18.50 and he was dating a Muslim girl and he wanted to marry. 00:22:18.53\00:22:22.47 He was this girl for a long time. 00:22:22.50\00:22:23.84 He wanted to marry her but the problem 00:22:23.87\00:22:25.21 is the parents wouldn't have any of it, 00:22:25.24\00:22:26.57 you know, they demanded that he become a Muslim 00:22:26.61\00:22:29.21 before he even approached the subject so he, 00:22:29.24\00:22:32.41 you know, he was studying Islam, 00:22:32.45\00:22:33.78 he had a Quran and he had in his room and anybody knows, 00:22:33.82\00:22:36.62 you know, proper Islam, you know, 00:22:36.65\00:22:38.95 you put the Quran in a sacred place. 00:22:38.99\00:22:41.22 It has to go in a prominent place 00:22:41.26\00:22:42.92 and so normally they will have stands, 00:22:42.96\00:22:44.59 there's all kinds of, you know, 00:22:44.63\00:22:45.96 things that and so he had his Quran 00:22:45.99\00:22:47.33 on the stand in his bookcase in his room, right? 00:22:47.36\00:22:49.50 And it was leaning there and I didn't see it. 00:22:49.53\00:22:52.63 I didn't know what it was because it had a veil over it. 00:22:52.67\00:22:55.77 It had like a white like veil covering it and I'm like, 00:22:55.80\00:22:58.41 "Man, what's that thing under there?" 00:22:58.44\00:22:59.77 And at this time we were smoking, 00:22:59.81\00:23:01.14 we are sitting in the room smoking 00:23:01.18\00:23:02.51 and my friend said, 00:23:02.54\00:23:04.75 "You know that's my Quran, 00:23:04.78\00:23:06.11 I had to cover it because we're smoking. 00:23:06.15\00:23:08.55 You know so he understood. 00:23:08.58\00:23:10.95 He didn't want to violate the sacredness of the book 00:23:10.99\00:23:13.59 so he veiled it so the smokers won't hit it. 00:23:13.62\00:23:16.42 I mean, are all of these concepts, 00:23:16.46\00:23:18.39 you know, he's not helping me accept Islam in that situation, 00:23:18.43\00:23:23.43 I'm not helping them by, you know, 00:23:23.47\00:23:25.67 refraining from smoking weed 00:23:25.70\00:23:27.10 but rolling and sitting in the other room 00:23:27.14\00:23:29.20 while they go in another room and smoke. 00:23:29.24\00:23:30.57 I'm completely disconnected so that's not effective. 00:23:30.61\00:23:33.01 It's not effective. 00:23:33.04\00:23:34.38 They understand the changes I've made. 00:23:34.41\00:23:35.74 They understand that God has made changes in my life 00:23:35.78\00:23:37.78 'cause they see it, they know who I was 00:23:37.81\00:23:39.25 and they know who I am now, 00:23:39.28\00:23:40.62 so the idea that we have to go out and reach people 00:23:40.65\00:23:44.22 where they are in their communities, 00:23:44.25\00:23:46.12 whether they're rich, poor, homeless and as I said 00:23:46.15\00:23:48.26 we've got to go and do it in the way that God is giving. 00:23:48.29\00:23:51.66 So when God says, go make disciples, 00:23:51.69\00:23:53.36 He doesn't just say go make disciples, 00:23:53.40\00:23:54.93 you guys figure it out. 00:23:54.96\00:23:56.30 He says, go make disciples and here are the guidelines, 00:23:56.33\00:23:58.60 here are the principles 00:23:58.63\00:23:59.97 that are going to govern your engagement, 00:24:00.00\00:24:03.24 the rules of engagement if you will. 00:24:03.27\00:24:04.97 There's rules of engagement for war 00:24:05.01\00:24:06.57 and all kinds of other things. 00:24:06.61\00:24:07.94 There's rules of engagement in this going out to reach people 00:24:07.98\00:24:11.11 or bringing people into your church 00:24:11.15\00:24:13.15 or bringing people into your home or your fellowship 00:24:13.18\00:24:15.42 so what is, you know, 00:24:15.45\00:24:18.12 to make it real simple and plain 00:24:18.15\00:24:20.46 even though God respects culture, 00:24:20.49\00:24:22.99 essentially God is created culture. 00:24:23.02\00:24:24.69 That's right. 00:24:24.73\00:24:26.06 But culture became perverted through sin 00:24:26.09\00:24:28.46 and rejection of the knowledge of the truth. 00:24:28.50\00:24:30.93 As that culture degraded 00:24:30.97\00:24:32.73 and man went further and further away from God 00:24:32.77\00:24:34.74 and began to invent cultural practices 00:24:34.77\00:24:36.97 influenced by Satan 00:24:37.01\00:24:39.41 God doesn't respect that. 00:24:39.44\00:24:41.21 God doesn't love that. He hates that. 00:24:41.24\00:24:43.61 And so when God bring somebody, He doesn't say, 00:24:43.65\00:24:45.41 "Oh, well, in order to be a Christian, 00:24:45.45\00:24:46.92 you need to change your language, 00:24:46.95\00:24:48.95 in order to be a Christian," and when I mean language, 00:24:48.98\00:24:51.25 I mean like French, Spanish, Italian. 00:24:51.29\00:24:52.75 Okay. 00:24:52.79\00:24:54.12 You know, God doesn't, you don't have to speak Latin 00:24:54.16\00:24:55.62 to read the Bible, 00:24:55.66\00:24:57.16 you know, like some other religions, 00:24:57.19\00:24:58.53 you can't even study the sacred text 00:24:58.56\00:25:00.83 without learning a certain language 00:25:00.86\00:25:02.90 and that becomes a real problematic, 00:25:02.93\00:25:05.30 so God doesn't say, oh, well, you're Italian, 00:25:05.33\00:25:07.80 I'm rejecting that or you're this, 00:25:07.84\00:25:09.17 I'm rejecting that. 00:25:09.20\00:25:10.54 He'll respect culture 00:25:10.57\00:25:12.94 but the culture has to be subservient 00:25:12.97\00:25:15.58 to the superior culture 00:25:15.61\00:25:17.05 which is Christian biblical culture. 00:25:17.08\00:25:18.91 No violation, no compromise 00:25:18.95\00:25:21.08 and your engagement in receiving individuals 00:25:21.12\00:25:23.92 are going out to minister to them. 00:25:23.95\00:25:25.75 So then expression of a culture is not in and of itself wrong, 00:25:25.79\00:25:31.39 it depends on what you're expressing 00:25:31.43\00:25:33.29 and how you're expressing it. 00:25:33.33\00:25:34.66 Exactly. 00:25:34.70\00:25:36.03 Things that are not conflicting with the Word of God, 00:25:36.06\00:25:38.40 things that are not conflicting with God's truth 00:25:38.43\00:25:41.00 and can be in harmony with God and His truth, 00:25:41.04\00:25:43.27 we are totally allowed to continue 00:25:43.30\00:25:45.64 to express those things without a problem, 00:25:45.67\00:25:48.34 but the things that we can see 00:25:48.38\00:25:49.88 that's encased within our culture 00:25:49.91\00:25:51.71 that we can go ahead and express and do whatever, 00:25:51.75\00:25:54.32 but we can look back and say, 00:25:54.35\00:25:55.68 hey, wait a minute as we search the Scriptures, 00:25:55.72\00:25:57.52 we see these things are countering and conflicting 00:25:57.55\00:25:59.65 with the Word of God. 00:25:59.69\00:26:01.02 These are the things that must be surrendered 00:26:01.06\00:26:03.43 to this superior culture which is called Christianity. 00:26:03.46\00:26:05.99 That is right. 00:26:06.03\00:26:07.36 This is the point of what Paul was bringing out 00:26:07.40\00:26:08.73 in 1 Corinthians 9 00:26:08.76\00:26:10.10 when Paul became like the Jew to win the Jew, 00:26:10.13\00:26:12.53 and these are the points that God wants us to understand 00:26:12.57\00:26:14.87 when we're going to come to those in hip-hop culture, 00:26:14.90\00:26:16.71 we're not going to use hip-hop necessarily to win those 00:26:16.74\00:26:20.71 that are in hip-hop and otherwise 00:26:20.74\00:26:22.41 we're going to be building on this thought real strong 00:26:22.44\00:26:24.58 because we've been setting a very profound foundation 00:26:24.61\00:26:27.48 as we get ready to bring some final points to a close, 00:26:27.52\00:26:29.98 so I'm excited about this and I hope you are too 00:26:30.02\00:26:33.29 and that you've been enjoying these points 00:26:33.32\00:26:35.22 that we've been studying together. 00:26:35.26\00:26:36.59 We're going to build on this even more 00:26:36.62\00:26:37.96 because we're going to bring some specifications 00:26:37.99\00:26:39.79 of particular expressions in hip-hop culture 00:26:39.83\00:26:43.23 that we're going to be able to look at 00:26:43.26\00:26:44.87 and let the Word of God be a guide to us. 00:26:44.90\00:26:47.64 So we want you to go ahead 00:26:47.67\00:26:49.00 and prepare your hearts for that 00:26:49.04\00:26:50.37 and continue to study 00:26:50.41\00:26:51.74 and invite a friend to come back 00:26:51.77\00:26:53.24 and take a look with us. 00:26:53.27\00:26:54.61 And until we meet again, 00:26:54.64\00:26:56.08 just remember those words of Proverbs 2:6 00:26:56.11\00:26:58.85 that tells us 00:26:58.88\00:27:00.22 it is the Lord that gives wisdom 00:27:00.25\00:27:02.15 and out of His mouth 00:27:02.18\00:27:03.75 comes knowledge and understanding. 00:27:03.79\00:27:06.35 God bless you. 00:27:06.39\00:27:07.82
