Hello, I'm Dwayne. And I'm Lance. 00:00:29.22\00:00:31.66 And we'd like to welcome you to another episode of TKS, 00:00:31.69\00:00:34.63 A True Knowledge of Self, 00:00:34.66\00:00:36.20 where we get to know ourselves from a biblical perspective. 00:00:36.23\00:00:39.27 Now we're gonna have 00:00:39.30\00:00:40.64 a very exciting discussion right now. 00:00:40.67\00:00:42.40 And we're gonna be kind of contrasting 00:00:42.44\00:00:44.37 true knowledge of self versus 00:00:44.41\00:00:46.37 this idea in hip-hop culture of knowledge of self. 00:00:46.41\00:00:49.58 And so we're gonna kind of look 00:00:49.61\00:00:51.15 at what we refer to as the Great Controversy theme 00:00:51.18\00:00:54.62 and our desperate need to know ourselves 00:00:54.65\00:00:57.85 as God had originally intended. 00:00:57.89\00:00:59.99 And then, we're gonna contrast that 00:01:00.02\00:01:02.19 and look at this false concept of knowledge of self 00:01:02.22\00:01:05.43 as presented by hip-hop Culture. 00:01:05.46\00:01:07.40 So, Dwayne, when we think about these things 00:01:07.43\00:01:11.10 why is knowledge of self so important anyway? 00:01:11.13\00:01:14.44 Well, I think the best way to approach it 00:01:14.47\00:01:16.44 would be to look at it from a biblical perspective 00:01:16.47\00:01:18.51 because that's the emphasis of our program anyhow. 00:01:18.54\00:01:21.08 And if you were to consider even creation, 00:01:21.11\00:01:23.88 when God made not only the heavens and the earth 00:01:23.91\00:01:26.95 but he made the angels. 00:01:26.98\00:01:28.32 The Bible says something very specific 00:01:28.35\00:01:29.88 that we would do well to consider. 00:01:29.92\00:01:31.39 He says in Colossians 1 and this is in verse 16, 00:01:31.42\00:01:34.76 speaking about Jesus. 00:01:34.79\00:01:36.12 It says, "For by him were all things created, 00:01:36.16\00:01:39.29 that are in heaven, and that are in earth, 00:01:39.33\00:01:41.13 visible and invisible 00:01:41.16\00:01:43.10 whether they be thrones, or dominions, 00:01:43.13\00:01:45.63 or principalities, or powers, 00:01:45.67\00:01:47.37 all things were created by Him, and for Him." 00:01:47.40\00:01:50.57 So when you think about that, angels were even made by God, 00:01:50.61\00:01:54.84 but also for God to glorify Him, 00:01:54.88\00:01:57.55 to honor Him, to worship Him. 00:01:57.58\00:01:59.88 Well, the Bible makes it clear that there was an angel 00:01:59.91\00:02:02.18 by the name of Lucifer, and that angel or in fact, 00:02:02.22\00:02:04.92 he was of course, Lucifer the Light Bearer, 00:02:04.95\00:02:07.02 but eventually he became known as another being. 00:02:07.06\00:02:09.46 And Lucifer the Light Bearer was made by God to glorify God. 00:02:09.49\00:02:14.30 Yet, Lucifer, 00:02:14.33\00:02:16.06 according to the testimony of scripture, 00:02:16.10\00:02:18.40 lost a knowledge of himself and the reason we know that 00:02:18.43\00:02:21.27 is because when you get to Isaiah 14 00:02:21.30\00:02:24.57 the Bible says something about the condition of Lucifer, 00:02:24.61\00:02:27.21 something that happened to him. 00:02:27.24\00:02:28.61 And it says, in verse 12, 00:02:28.64\00:02:30.15 "How art thou fallen from heaven, 00:02:30.18\00:02:32.48 O Lucifer, son of the morning! 00:02:32.51\00:02:34.92 How art thou cut down to the ground 00:02:34.95\00:02:36.52 which didst weaken the nations! 00:02:36.55\00:02:38.05 For thou hast said in thine heart, 00:02:38.09\00:02:40.26 I will ascend into heaven. 00:02:40.29\00:02:42.42 I will exalt my throne above the stars of God. 00:02:42.46\00:02:45.26 I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, 00:02:45.29\00:02:48.46 in the sides of the north. 00:02:48.50\00:02:49.83 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, 00:02:49.86\00:02:52.53 I will be like the most high." 00:02:52.57\00:02:56.10 It was when Lucifer lost a knowledge of himself, 00:02:56.14\00:02:59.51 where his position was, why he was created, 00:02:59.54\00:03:02.01 his purpose in creation, 00:03:02.04\00:03:03.41 that he actually thought 00:03:03.45\00:03:04.78 that he could supersede the Creator himself. 00:03:04.81\00:03:06.15 That's right. 00:03:06.18\00:03:07.52 He lost the knowledge of himself, 00:03:07.55\00:03:08.88 and as a result of that he exalted himself. 00:03:08.92\00:03:11.12 And the Bible says, as a result of this 00:03:11.15\00:03:13.05 a war started in heaven. 00:03:13.09\00:03:14.76 Well, the problem is that 00:03:14.79\00:03:16.12 though the war started in heaven, 00:03:16.16\00:03:17.53 it landed on earth, according to Revelation 12:12. 00:03:17.56\00:03:20.23 All right. 00:03:20.26\00:03:21.60 So because of this fact, 00:03:21.63\00:03:22.96 Satan has waged war still against God, 00:03:23.00\00:03:25.50 but he is using humanity as the medium, 00:03:25.53\00:03:28.04 he is using us as the means to hurt God now. 00:03:28.07\00:03:30.51 So when humanity fell into the sin trap, 00:03:30.54\00:03:33.41 then something happened to us. 00:03:33.44\00:03:34.81 We live our live, though, as if our DNA changed. 00:03:34.84\00:03:37.38 And so we were created 00:03:37.41\00:03:38.75 in the image of God in His likeness, 00:03:38.78\00:03:40.32 but now we were made in the likeness of men, 00:03:40.35\00:03:42.78 and along with that was a sinful nature. 00:03:42.82\00:03:45.49 All right. 00:03:45.52\00:03:46.86 Well, the Bible speaks about this in Jeremiah 17:9, 00:03:46.89\00:03:49.16 and it says, 00:03:49.19\00:03:50.53 "That the heart" talking about the condition of man. 00:03:50.56\00:03:53.43 "The heart is deceitful above all things, 00:03:53.46\00:03:56.36 and desperately wicked, who can know it?" 00:03:56.40\00:03:59.17 This is the true condition of man. 00:03:59.20\00:04:01.34 This is what man needs right now, 00:04:01.37\00:04:03.27 they need a true knowledge of self 00:04:03.30\00:04:05.14 to understand that naturally I am wicked, 00:04:05.17\00:04:07.51 I am antichrist, I am against God, 00:04:07.54\00:04:09.94 and I'm certainly not godly. 00:04:09.98\00:04:11.41 And this is why 00:04:11.45\00:04:12.91 a true knowledge of self is important 00:04:12.95\00:04:14.98 so that we can understand we have fallen, 00:04:15.02\00:04:17.69 we have a fallen nature, and we need help. 00:04:17.72\00:04:20.32 So man can't be trusted on his own? 00:04:20.36\00:04:22.29 He cannot be trusted on his own. 00:04:22.32\00:04:23.89 He can't trust anything of, in and of himself. 00:04:23.93\00:04:26.19 So if man can't be trusted, 00:04:26.23\00:04:27.96 then what was the original plan in other words 00:04:28.00\00:04:30.60 what had God originally designed 00:04:30.63\00:04:31.97 and intended? 00:04:32.00\00:04:33.34 That is a excellent question. 00:04:33.37\00:04:34.70 I mean, if you go way back to the beginning of time, 00:04:34.74\00:04:36.97 in Genesis 1:26 00:04:37.01\00:04:38.87 the Bible tells us very clear God's intent and purpose 00:04:38.91\00:04:42.14 when he made mankind. 00:04:42.18\00:04:43.51 The Bible says, "God made man in His image, 00:04:43.55\00:04:46.92 and in his likeness." 00:04:46.95\00:04:48.58 Man was called to reflect the image of God. 00:04:48.62\00:04:51.29 He was called to reflect the character of God. 00:04:51.32\00:04:53.82 And this was supposed to be brought forth 00:04:53.86\00:04:56.22 all throughout the planet earth 00:04:56.26\00:04:58.29 and throughout all of the creation 00:04:58.33\00:04:59.66 that would come through the earth, 00:04:59.69\00:05:01.03 and Man was to have dominion 00:05:01.06\00:05:02.40 over the creatures of the earth. 00:05:02.43\00:05:03.83 So God had a beautiful plan that was in the beginning, 00:05:03.87\00:05:06.60 He was able to create man to reflect his image, 00:05:06.63\00:05:09.14 but the problem is, 00:05:09.17\00:05:10.57 is that when man fell into sin, 00:05:10.61\00:05:13.34 as I stated, it caused a shift. 00:05:13.38\00:05:14.91 An example, 00:05:14.94\00:05:16.28 if we were to look at Genesis 5, 00:05:16.31\00:05:17.65 this is often 'cause you know, 00:05:17.68\00:05:19.01 I remember a time 00:05:19.05\00:05:20.38 I used to tell people this to say, 00:05:20.42\00:05:21.78 "Don't you know that you were created 00:05:21.82\00:05:23.15 in the image of God?" 00:05:23.18\00:05:24.52 And, you know, you say that to people, 00:05:24.55\00:05:25.89 but if the truth be told 00:05:25.92\00:05:28.39 we were created in the image of God 00:05:28.42\00:05:31.39 but something happened in history 00:05:31.43\00:05:33.50 that caused man to lose much of that image. 00:05:33.53\00:05:36.16 And as a result of that something else took place, 00:05:36.20\00:05:38.13 it's in Genesis 5. 00:05:38.17\00:05:40.14 It says right there in verses 1-3, 00:05:40.17\00:05:42.80 "This is the book of the generations of Adam. 00:05:42.84\00:05:45.17 In the day that God created man, 00:05:45.21\00:05:47.38 in the likeness of God made he him, 00:05:47.41\00:05:49.51 male and female created he them, 00:05:49.54\00:05:51.51 and blessed them, and called their name Adam, 00:05:51.55\00:05:53.95 in the day when they were created. 00:05:53.98\00:05:55.58 And Adam lived 130 years. 00:05:55.62\00:05:57.69 And begat a son in His own likeness, 00:05:57.72\00:06:01.22 after His image, and called his name Seth." 00:06:01.26\00:06:05.06 Once man fell into sin, 00:06:05.09\00:06:06.73 it was as if a literal DNA change took place. 00:06:06.76\00:06:09.83 So we were no longer 00:06:09.86\00:06:11.20 just directly and most emphatically 00:06:11.23\00:06:13.47 reflecting the image and likeness of God. 00:06:13.50\00:06:15.94 Now we're reflecting the image and likeness of Adam 00:06:15.97\00:06:18.57 with a fallen nature and, therefore, we need help. 00:06:18.61\00:06:21.34 This was not God's original plan. 00:06:21.38\00:06:23.28 When God made us in His image, 00:06:23.31\00:06:25.18 He wanted us to reflect that image. 00:06:25.21\00:06:27.82 And in Psalms 1-4 verses 1-2, 00:06:27.85\00:06:30.52 the Bible says something beautiful, 00:06:30.55\00:06:31.89 it says that 00:06:31.92\00:06:33.25 "God covers himself with light as with a garment." 00:06:33.29\00:06:37.23 God actually when He made men, 00:06:37.26\00:06:38.76 He wanted us to be light bearers, 00:06:38.79\00:06:40.83 He wanted us to be the ones to spread his light of love, 00:06:40.86\00:06:43.13 hope and righteousness, all throughout the world, 00:06:43.16\00:06:45.20 that was his original plan. 00:06:45.23\00:06:46.57 So when God made man in His image, 00:06:46.60\00:06:48.50 if God covers Himself with light, 00:06:48.54\00:06:50.61 then man was also to be covered with light. 00:06:50.64\00:06:52.74 Right. 00:06:52.77\00:06:54.11 Now there is a very specific function of light. 00:06:54.14\00:06:56.14 In Ephesians 5:13 the Bible says, 00:06:56.18\00:07:00.22 "Whatsoever makes manifest is light." 00:07:00.25\00:07:04.15 In other words, that's the purpose of light. 00:07:04.19\00:07:05.69 Light is designed to make something manifest, 00:07:05.72\00:07:08.12 to make something known. 00:07:08.16\00:07:09.59 So when God made man in His image, 00:07:09.62\00:07:11.66 and His likeness, 00:07:11.69\00:07:13.03 He covered man with the same light 00:07:13.06\00:07:14.40 that He had upon Himself, 00:07:14.43\00:07:15.76 and He wanted man to reflect that light 00:07:15.80\00:07:17.83 all throughout the world, to make something known. 00:07:17.87\00:07:20.57 The question is what? 00:07:20.60\00:07:21.94 What was it that the God wanted man 00:07:21.97\00:07:23.30 to make known all throughout the world? 00:07:23.34\00:07:25.64 It's found in the book of Micah chapter 7:9, 00:07:25.67\00:07:28.98 in Micah 7:9 it says, 00:07:29.01\00:07:31.21 "I will bear the indignation of the Lord 00:07:31.25\00:07:33.38 because I have sinned against Him." 00:07:33.42\00:07:34.75 And then it says, 00:07:34.78\00:07:36.12 "And then He will plead my cause, 00:07:36.15\00:07:37.49 before me, and present judgment." 00:07:37.52\00:07:39.55 And then it goes on to tell us, 00:07:39.59\00:07:41.16 "He will bring me forth to the light, 00:07:41.19\00:07:44.43 and I shall behold his righteousness." 00:07:44.46\00:07:48.13 Right. Righteousness. There you go. 00:07:48.16\00:07:49.76 So the light, the light that God wanted 00:07:49.80\00:07:51.43 to be emanated throughout the world 00:07:51.47\00:07:53.20 was none other than the light of His righteousness. 00:07:53.23\00:07:55.60 God covers Himself with light as with a garment. 00:07:55.64\00:07:58.14 God covers Himself with righteousness 00:07:58.17\00:08:00.11 as a garment. 00:08:00.14\00:08:01.48 When God made man, He covered man with light. 00:08:01.51\00:08:03.78 He covered man 00:08:03.81\00:08:05.15 with righteousness as a garment. 00:08:05.18\00:08:06.98 And God wanted that righteousness to shine 00:08:07.02\00:08:09.12 all throughout planet earth. 00:08:09.15\00:08:11.09 And this was God's plan in the beginning for man. 00:08:11.12\00:08:13.39 So God wanted to give man what He had? 00:08:13.42\00:08:17.36 That's right. 00:08:17.39\00:08:18.73 Man was made in His image, then what happened? 00:08:18.76\00:08:22.00 I mean basically we're in a situation 00:08:22.03\00:08:24.17 where we looked at Jeremiah 17:9, 00:08:24.20\00:08:26.90 and we see, "That the heart is deceitful above all things 00:08:26.94\00:08:29.00 and desperately wicked." 00:08:29.04\00:08:30.37 We see the corruption now that we're facing 00:08:30.41\00:08:32.37 and this deception, if you will, 00:08:32.41\00:08:34.21 that we know ourselves when we really don't 00:08:34.24\00:08:36.01 because we don't understand God original plan. 00:08:36.04\00:08:37.68 That's right. 00:08:37.71\00:08:39.05 So what happened, why the change, what happened? 00:08:39.08\00:08:40.52 Well, if you go back to Genesis 3 00:08:40.55\00:08:42.95 the Bible speaks on this. 00:08:42.98\00:08:44.39 Because what you see happening in Genesis 3, 00:08:44.42\00:08:46.65 you can literally see happening in our society today. 00:08:46.69\00:08:49.46 I mean, it is absolutely parallel. 00:08:49.49\00:08:51.53 When God made Adam and Eve, 00:08:51.56\00:08:53.33 you remember in Genesis 2, actually, 00:08:53.36\00:08:54.96 I'll go there first. 00:08:55.00\00:08:56.33 In Genesis 2:25, 00:08:56.36\00:08:57.70 it says something pretty powerful. 00:08:57.73\00:08:59.27 It says, "And they were both naked, 00:08:59.30\00:09:01.84 the man and his wife, and were not ashamed". 00:09:01.87\00:09:04.97 Now I don't know if people understand this, 00:09:05.01\00:09:06.41 but this is actually a very strange statement 00:09:06.44\00:09:09.51 when it comes to scripture. 00:09:09.54\00:09:10.88 Because for someone to be naked and not ashamed is not normal. 00:09:10.91\00:09:14.75 Right. 00:09:14.78\00:09:16.12 You know, in our day and age today, 00:09:16.15\00:09:17.49 you know, if you're naked that's a shameful thing. 00:09:17.52\00:09:19.25 And even in the Bible when the Bible talked about 00:09:19.29\00:09:21.12 those who are inflicted with the disease of Laodicea, 00:09:21.16\00:09:24.56 it says in Revelation 3:18 when it talks about 00:09:24.59\00:09:26.80 the beautiful natural remedies of God, 00:09:26.83\00:09:28.86 it talks about, 00:09:28.90\00:09:30.23 "I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, 00:09:30.27\00:09:32.83 that thou mayest be rich, and white raiment, 00:09:32.87\00:09:35.30 that thou mayest be clothed, 00:09:35.34\00:09:36.67 and that the shame of thy nakedness 00:09:36.71\00:09:38.81 do not appear." 00:09:38.84\00:09:40.18 So shame and nakedness normally go together. 00:09:40.21\00:09:41.98 But here, before sin touched this planet, 00:09:42.01\00:09:44.45 it literally says, 00:09:44.48\00:09:45.81 "That man was naked and not ashamed." 00:09:45.85\00:09:47.38 He had a covering, 00:09:47.42\00:09:48.75 and we just found out what the covering was. 00:09:48.78\00:09:50.15 It was God's light. 00:09:50.19\00:09:51.52 'Cause remember, God covers Himself like a garment, 00:09:51.55\00:09:53.46 man was covered with light like a garment, 00:09:53.49\00:09:55.76 that light was God's righteousness, 00:09:55.79\00:09:57.76 but when man chose to sin, 00:09:57.79\00:10:00.83 we got to pay attention to the text. 00:10:00.86\00:10:02.20 All right. 00:10:02.23\00:10:03.57 In Genesis 3, now, it says right there in verse 6, 00:10:03.60\00:10:06.84 "And when the woman saw 00:10:06.87\00:10:08.20 that the tree was good for food, 00:10:08.24\00:10:09.94 and that it was pleasant to the eyes, 00:10:09.97\00:10:11.67 and a tree to be desired to make one wise, 00:10:11.71\00:10:14.04 she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, 00:10:14.08\00:10:17.48 and gave also unto her husband with her, 00:10:17.51\00:10:19.21 and he did eat." 00:10:19.25\00:10:20.58 Verse 7, is key, 00:10:20.62\00:10:22.02 "And the eyes of them both were opened, 00:10:22.05\00:10:24.75 and they knew that they were naked, 00:10:24.79\00:10:27.52 and they sewed fig leaves together, 00:10:27.56\00:10:29.72 and made themselves aprons." 00:10:29.76\00:10:31.69 So here it is that the Bible is literally showing 00:10:31.73\00:10:34.26 that in the beginning of time, 00:10:34.30\00:10:36.16 man when he was in right standing with God, 00:10:36.20\00:10:38.50 he could be naked before God 00:10:38.53\00:10:39.87 and not ashamed because he has the right covering. 00:10:39.90\00:10:41.57 It's kind of like you and I, 00:10:41.60\00:10:42.94 we're on a televised program right now, 00:10:42.97\00:10:45.07 and if the truth be told, we are both naked. 00:10:45.11\00:10:48.51 But we're not ashamed of it 00:10:48.54\00:10:49.88 because we have a covering called clothing, 00:10:49.91\00:10:51.25 the clothing covers our nakedness 00:10:51.28\00:10:52.91 it's the same principle. 00:10:52.95\00:10:54.28 Adam and Eve they were naked, 00:10:54.32\00:10:55.65 but they were not ashamed because they had a covering, 00:10:55.68\00:10:57.39 it was God's righteousness. 00:10:57.42\00:10:58.89 When they fell into sin they lost the covering, 00:10:58.92\00:11:02.32 that's what the Bible's saying, now the eyes are open, 00:11:02.36\00:11:04.33 they lost the covering, they lost God's righteousness. 00:11:04.36\00:11:06.83 Sin can remove God's righteousness. 00:11:06.86\00:11:09.66 Yep. 00:11:09.70\00:11:11.03 And as a result of this, now Adam and Eve, 00:11:11.07\00:11:13.13 they see their nakedness but they do something 00:11:13.17\00:11:15.80 that was absolutely unwise, 00:11:15.84\00:11:17.71 and humanity today is doing something 00:11:17.74\00:11:20.98 that is absolutely unwise. 00:11:21.01\00:11:23.04 Adam tried to cover himself. 00:11:23.08\00:11:26.72 He made something called aprons. 00:11:26.75\00:11:28.95 These aprons were obviously insufficient 00:11:28.98\00:11:31.79 in covering his nakedness because even after he made it, 00:11:31.82\00:11:34.42 and put it on, 00:11:34.46\00:11:35.79 what does it says in Genesis 3:10? 00:11:35.82\00:11:37.76 It says in Genesis 3:10, 00:11:37.79\00:11:39.69 after God was calling for Adam and looking for him it says, 00:11:39.73\00:11:42.06 "And he said, 00:11:42.10\00:11:43.43 I heard thy voice in the garden, 00:11:43.47\00:11:46.17 and I was afraid 00:11:46.20\00:11:48.00 because I was naked and I hid myself." 00:11:48.04\00:11:51.41 Even when Adam and Eve had on a new garment, 00:11:51.44\00:11:54.44 if you will, it was still not sufficient 00:11:54.48\00:11:56.75 because God later on in verse 21 of Genesis 3 00:11:56.78\00:11:59.55 had to make a new clothing for them. 00:11:59.58\00:12:01.12 It says, "Unto Adam and also to his wife 00:12:01.15\00:12:03.89 did the Lord God make coats of skins, 00:12:03.92\00:12:05.29 and clothed them" all over again. 00:12:05.32\00:12:06.92 The apron was insufficient. 00:12:06.96\00:12:09.02 Now if the first garment Adam and Eve had 00:12:09.06\00:12:10.99 was a garment of righteousness, 00:12:11.03\00:12:13.29 then when they made this second garment, 00:12:13.33\00:12:16.13 that they were trying to cover themselves with, 00:12:16.16\00:12:18.57 this is obviously a garment 00:12:18.60\00:12:19.93 that is demonstrative of self-righteousness. 00:12:19.97\00:12:21.90 Self-righteousness. 00:12:21.94\00:12:23.27 A man trying to cover his own nakedness 00:12:23.30\00:12:24.94 in and of his own merits, 00:12:24.97\00:12:26.57 and this is something that obviously 00:12:26.61\00:12:28.18 is unacceptable with God. 00:12:28.21\00:12:30.38 God cannot accept it. 00:12:30.41\00:12:31.91 And a true knowledge of self, helps me, helps you, 00:12:31.95\00:12:35.15 helps everyone, to understand 00:12:35.18\00:12:37.35 in and of myself there is nothing I can do 00:12:37.39\00:12:40.39 or ever will do 00:12:40.42\00:12:41.76 that can make me righteous with God. 00:12:41.79\00:12:43.96 Righteousness starts with God, 00:12:43.99\00:12:45.56 righteousness is maintained with God, 00:12:45.59\00:12:47.60 and righteousness finishes with God. 00:12:47.63\00:12:49.46 So, what we're looking at is a situation 00:12:49.50\00:12:52.53 where true knowledge of self the object is God? 00:12:52.57\00:12:56.64 That's right. 00:12:56.67\00:12:58.01 Everything originates from Him, and everything that we have, 00:12:58.04\00:13:01.51 comes from Him and everything that we have, we owe to Him. 00:13:01.54\00:13:04.48 That's right. 00:13:04.51\00:13:05.85 Knowledge of self, 00:13:05.88\00:13:07.22 as is presented in hip-hop culture, 00:13:07.25\00:13:08.58 and we're talking about that, 00:13:08.62\00:13:09.95 you know, more later on, in future episodes. 00:13:09.98\00:13:11.75 But knowledge of self in an earthly sense, is self, 00:13:11.79\00:13:17.33 you know, we become the objects. 00:13:17.36\00:13:19.03 That's right. 00:13:19.06\00:13:20.40 So we become the dictators, 00:13:20.43\00:13:21.76 we become the origins of truth in what righteousness is. 00:13:21.80\00:13:25.60 And it's extremely deceptive as we looked at in the Bible. 00:13:25.63\00:13:29.60 So now that we're talking about this righteousness 00:13:29.64\00:13:32.84 and what God is presenting, what's the Bible is presenting, 00:13:32.87\00:13:36.71 what is righteousness? 00:13:36.75\00:13:38.25 Well, as we prepare to go ahead and answer that question, 00:13:38.28\00:13:41.25 I want us to consider this. 00:13:41.28\00:13:43.08 If we would have tried to take 00:13:43.12\00:13:44.45 these little points of scripture 00:13:44.49\00:13:45.89 that we put together thus far, 00:13:45.92\00:13:48.26 the plan of salvation, that the Bible presents, 00:13:48.29\00:13:51.69 is a plan where God is seeking to help man 00:13:51.73\00:13:54.43 put his clothes back on. 00:13:54.46\00:13:55.80 All right. 00:13:55.83\00:13:57.17 You know, if I could put in real layman's terms, 00:13:57.20\00:13:58.53 that this is what God is doing right now. 00:13:58.57\00:13:59.97 He's on a mission to help man get his clothes back on. 00:14:00.00\00:14:02.90 Because man started 00:14:02.94\00:14:05.31 with the right clothing but man, unfortunately, 00:14:05.34\00:14:07.28 is wearing the wrong clothing today. 00:14:07.31\00:14:08.64 And that wrong clothing 00:14:08.68\00:14:10.01 is what we can simply term Adam's apron. 00:14:10.05\00:14:12.15 Any time an individual tries to make themselves righteous 00:14:12.18\00:14:16.15 or in right standing with God 00:14:16.18\00:14:17.85 because of some deed that they do, 00:14:17.89\00:14:20.59 or because of some concept that they conjecture, 00:14:20.62\00:14:22.92 or anything like that 00:14:22.96\00:14:24.29 these are all various forms of self-righteousness. 00:14:24.33\00:14:26.56 I can make myself in right standing, 00:14:26.59\00:14:28.00 with God and man, 00:14:28.03\00:14:29.36 independent of God, independent of His word, 00:14:29.40\00:14:31.33 independent of His ways. 00:14:31.37\00:14:32.83 All of this represents Adam's apron. 00:14:32.87\00:14:35.04 God's plan is to get that apron off of us, 00:14:35.07\00:14:37.37 and to clothe us, 00:14:37.41\00:14:38.74 He wants to re-clothe us with His righteousness. 00:14:38.77\00:14:41.44 So when we think about what really is righteousness, 00:14:41.48\00:14:44.25 it is something that man cannot answer himself, 00:14:44.28\00:14:46.95 God has to answer that question. 00:14:46.98\00:14:48.75 And it requires a spirit and mind of humility 00:14:48.78\00:14:52.29 that one can be able to say, "All right. 00:14:52.32\00:14:53.86 I don't have the answers, God has the answers, 00:14:53.89\00:14:56.73 and it causes me to submit 00:14:56.76\00:14:58.69 and surrender my thoughts and my processes, 00:14:58.73\00:15:01.76 and let God's will be done." 00:15:01.80\00:15:03.33 Because Proverbs 14:12 tells us, 00:15:03.37\00:15:05.47 clear as day, 00:15:05.50\00:15:06.84 "There is a way that seems right unto a man." 00:15:06.87\00:15:10.31 I can take the word right and put righteous there. 00:15:10.34\00:15:12.24 There is a way that seems righteous unto a man, 00:15:12.27\00:15:15.78 but the end, thereof, are the ways of death. 00:15:15.81\00:15:18.01 And the Bible didn't say it once it said it twice. 00:15:18.05\00:15:19.61 Proverbs 14:12, 00:15:19.65\00:15:20.98 "There is a way that seems right unto a man, 00:15:21.02\00:15:22.75 but the end here of are the ways of death." 00:15:22.78\00:15:24.52 Proverbs 16:25, "There is a way that seems right unto a man, 00:15:24.55\00:15:27.82 but the end there of are the ways of death." 00:15:27.86\00:15:29.19 God literally had to repeat Himself 00:15:29.22\00:15:30.73 to try to get us to understand 00:15:30.76\00:15:32.49 I know what I'm talking about and I mean what I say. 00:15:32.53\00:15:34.60 So true knowledge of self is really, 00:15:34.63\00:15:36.83 we're really talking about total dependence? 00:15:36.87\00:15:38.73 That's right. 00:15:38.77\00:15:40.10 Whereas, the self righteousness in this worldly knowledge 00:15:40.14\00:15:43.44 of self is really this independence? 00:15:43.47\00:15:45.17 That's correct. 00:15:45.21\00:15:46.54 And so we have to be afraid of total dependence on God, 00:15:46.57\00:15:50.88 and all of His ways, and all of His word, 00:15:50.91\00:15:52.61 and all of His righteousness. 00:15:52.65\00:15:54.02 So again we need to understand what is righteousness is, 00:15:54.05\00:15:56.25 so, you know, break that down. 00:15:56.28\00:15:57.62 Absolutely. 00:15:57.65\00:15:58.99 Now, if we go to Psalms 1:19, 00:15:59.02\00:16:00.86 Jesus said a statement a long time ago 00:16:00.89\00:16:02.32 that I believe is still relevant 00:16:02.36\00:16:03.69 to the people of God today. 00:16:03.73\00:16:05.13 In Psalms 119:172, 00:16:05.16\00:16:07.60 the Bible tells us clear as day what is righteousness. 00:16:07.63\00:16:11.40 And this is imperative for anybody 00:16:11.43\00:16:12.77 who really wants true righteousness. 00:16:12.80\00:16:14.40 But you have to have a true knowledge of self 00:16:14.44\00:16:16.30 to see your need for righteousness. 00:16:16.34\00:16:17.87 All right, So in Psalms 119:172 the Bible clearly says, 00:16:17.91\00:16:23.28 "My tongue shall speak of thy word, 00:16:23.31\00:16:26.18 for all thy commandments are righteousness." 00:16:26.21\00:16:31.62 So when we think about what is righteousness, 00:16:31.65\00:16:34.29 it's not enough to say, right doing. 00:16:34.32\00:16:35.76 And the reason why is because 00:16:35.79\00:16:38.09 who says what you're doing is right. 00:16:38.13\00:16:39.46 Exactly. 00:16:39.49\00:16:40.83 A man can literally walk up to another man take a gun 00:16:40.86\00:16:42.43 and kill him and say, 00:16:42.46\00:16:43.80 "What I did was right, I had to do it." 00:16:43.83\00:16:45.63 A person can go to a store, steal food, and say, 00:16:45.67\00:16:48.90 "I did, what I did was right, I had to do it." 00:16:48.94\00:16:51.04 People can rationalize 00:16:51.07\00:16:52.41 and that's the world we live in right now. 00:16:52.44\00:16:53.88 People can rationalize almost every wicked deed. 00:16:53.91\00:16:56.95 We are living in a time of Isaiah 5:20. 00:16:56.98\00:17:00.12 "Woe unto those who call good evil, 00:17:00.15\00:17:02.32 and evil good." 00:17:02.35\00:17:03.69 Today there's evil things that's happening 00:17:03.72\00:17:05.25 and people have the nerve to call it good. 00:17:05.29\00:17:06.92 There are things that good things are happening, 00:17:06.96\00:17:08.72 and people have the nerve to call it evil. 00:17:08.76\00:17:10.63 Our minds are exceptionally frail, 00:17:10.66\00:17:12.99 and again, when we have a true knowledge of self, 00:17:13.03\00:17:15.26 we understand 00:17:15.30\00:17:16.63 I can't even determine what's right or wrong. 00:17:16.67\00:17:18.47 Right. So we have to let God do it. 00:17:18.50\00:17:20.47 And when God does it through His word, 00:17:20.50\00:17:22.54 He says, "All my commandments, 00:17:22.57\00:17:24.27 all my commandments are righteousness." 00:17:24.31\00:17:27.21 So when I think of what is righteousness, 00:17:27.24\00:17:30.55 I can sum it up 00:17:30.58\00:17:31.91 in God's commandments, specifically, 00:17:31.95\00:17:34.22 these Ten Commandments. 00:17:34.25\00:17:35.68 This is why Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 00:17:35.72\00:17:38.95 makes it blazingly clear, 00:17:38.99\00:17:40.32 "Fear God and keep His commandments 00:17:40.36\00:17:43.22 for this is the whole duty of man". 00:17:43.26\00:17:46.09 So God wants to make it clear, listen, my understanding, 00:17:46.13\00:17:50.07 my concept of righteousness 00:17:50.10\00:17:52.53 is encased in these blessed principles 00:17:52.57\00:17:56.47 that we call the Ten Commandments 00:17:56.50\00:17:57.87 that has been given unto man 00:17:57.91\00:17:59.24 that is our whole entire duty to follow. 00:17:59.27\00:18:01.41 If we follow these principles, 00:18:01.44\00:18:03.28 we would find ourselves in a much better position 00:18:03.31\00:18:06.15 than we see ourselves in today. 00:18:06.18\00:18:07.75 So in a sense, the commandments of the God, 00:18:07.78\00:18:11.55 now clearly defined as His righteousness, 00:18:11.59\00:18:14.56 or our righteousness, 00:18:14.59\00:18:15.96 then the commandments of God 00:18:15.99\00:18:18.39 ultimately a reflection of his character? 00:18:18.43\00:18:20.63 That is correct. Think about it. 00:18:20.66\00:18:22.46 When you go to the Book of Romans 7, 00:18:22.50\00:18:25.33 the Bible says in Romans 7 right there in verse 7. 00:18:25.37\00:18:29.24 Paul makes it clear, I like to read it, in fact. 00:18:29.27\00:18:30.97 I think it's important to look at it. 00:18:31.01\00:18:32.61 Well look at Romans 7:7, and then Romans 7:12. 00:18:32.64\00:18:34.58 Okay. 00:18:34.61\00:18:35.94 In Romans 7:7 the Bible says, 00:18:35.98\00:18:39.61 "What shall we say, then? Is the law sin? 00:18:39.65\00:18:41.98 God Forbid. 00:18:42.02\00:18:43.35 Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law, 00:18:43.39\00:18:45.72 for I had not known lust, 00:18:45.75\00:18:47.09 except the law had said, thou shalt not covet." 00:18:47.12\00:18:49.12 And then when you go down to verse 12 it says, 00:18:49.16\00:18:50.83 "Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, 00:18:50.86\00:18:54.20 and just, and good." 00:18:54.23\00:18:56.36 Now literally each phase of what the Bible 00:18:56.40\00:18:59.77 just called God's commandments is literally in, as you said, 00:18:59.80\00:19:03.10 a definition on inscription of His character. 00:19:03.14\00:19:06.17 God is just, Deuteronomy 32:4, God is good, Matthew 19:17, 00:19:06.21\00:19:11.91 God is just, Deuteronomy 32 again 00:19:11.95\00:19:14.12 and James 2 as well. 00:19:14.15\00:19:15.65 So God is just, God is good, God is holy. 00:19:15.68\00:19:19.02 1 Peter, 1:15-16. 00:19:19.05\00:19:20.96 So if God is all of these things 00:19:20.99\00:19:22.89 or since God is all these things 00:19:22.92\00:19:24.76 and the commandments are all these things, 00:19:24.79\00:19:26.56 clearly the Ten Commandments 00:19:26.59\00:19:28.23 are therefore a transcript of God's character, 00:19:28.26\00:19:30.87 which it was Adam and Eve's job to bear, 00:19:30.90\00:19:34.50 to shine, all throughout the world. 00:19:34.54\00:19:36.84 And so now, if that's very clear, 00:19:36.87\00:19:39.71 so God's character and His commandments 00:19:39.74\00:19:43.35 are essentially one and the same, 00:19:43.38\00:19:45.75 and His righteousness is essentially 00:19:45.78\00:19:48.08 one and the same. 00:19:48.12\00:19:49.45 So if God's character is holy, 00:19:49.48\00:19:51.72 and just, and good, 00:19:51.75\00:19:53.09 and his commandments are holy, and just, and good, 00:19:53.12\00:19:54.52 then righteousness is holy, and just, and good. 00:19:54.56\00:19:58.86 And, therefore, 00:19:58.89\00:20:00.23 a human being cannot produce inherently righteousness, 00:20:00.26\00:20:05.20 and justice, and holiness, and goodness. 00:20:05.23\00:20:07.57 So that's the ultimate question is, 00:20:07.60\00:20:09.37 can we make ourselves righteous? 00:20:09.40\00:20:11.04 Well, the truth of the matter is that we can. 00:20:11.07\00:20:13.17 In fact, when you look at Romans 3, right? 00:20:13.21\00:20:15.54 If you look at Romans the 3 chapter 00:20:15.58\00:20:17.71 you will notice in the 10 verse, 00:20:17.75\00:20:19.21 it says, "As it is written, 00:20:19.25\00:20:22.05 there is none righteous, no, not one." 00:20:22.08\00:20:25.89 The Bible says, in verse 23 that "All have sinned," 00:20:25.92\00:20:30.13 all have fallen into unrighteousness, 00:20:30.16\00:20:32.26 "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." 00:20:32.29\00:20:35.53 And I remember this growing up in hip-hop culture, 00:20:35.56\00:20:37.33 I was of somebody who was taught that I am a God. 00:20:37.37\00:20:41.27 I was taught that there are lots of things 00:20:41.30\00:20:42.64 that I can do that is godly 00:20:42.67\00:20:44.07 in a demonstration of a godlike character. 00:20:44.11\00:20:46.21 But when I compare it 00:20:46.24\00:20:47.64 to God's law especially magnified, 00:20:47.68\00:20:50.58 I saw incredible contradiction. 00:20:50.61\00:20:52.78 God's law says, 00:20:52.81\00:20:54.15 "Thou shalt not commit adultery." 00:20:54.18\00:20:56.08 Which means be loyal, remain faithful, 00:20:56.12\00:20:59.12 and here it is that in hip-hop culture 00:20:59.15\00:21:01.32 that as I experienced it, 00:21:01.36\00:21:02.76 I was told that having sex with somebody 00:21:02.79\00:21:04.56 that's not my wife is perfectly all right. 00:21:04.59\00:21:06.59 In fact, that's demonstrated in hip-hop culture today. 00:21:06.63\00:21:09.10 The biggest names in hip-hop today all of them, 00:21:09.13\00:21:12.43 advocate fornication, 00:21:12.47\00:21:14.24 1 Thessalonians 4:3 is a clear text it says, 00:21:14.27\00:21:17.47 very clearly, "This is the will of God, 00:21:17.51\00:21:19.51 even your sanctification 00:21:19.54\00:21:21.14 that you might flee fornication." 00:21:21.18\00:21:23.35 But yet in hip-hop culture it is often made known 00:21:23.38\00:21:25.95 that it's all right to fornicate. 00:21:25.98\00:21:27.32 You don't have to be married to one person 00:21:27.35\00:21:29.32 and commit your life to them all your life, 00:21:29.35\00:21:31.12 etcetera, you can go ahead 00:21:31.15\00:21:32.85 and as long as you care about the person and don't... 00:21:32.89\00:21:35.16 Once you can make up 00:21:35.19\00:21:36.52 your own rules, and close the book, 00:21:36.56\00:21:39.43 then we're like the people in the Book of Judges, 00:21:39.46\00:21:41.56 everybody does what's right in their own eyes, 00:21:41.60\00:21:44.40 but the problem 00:21:44.43\00:21:45.77 is there's not a true knowledge of self. 00:21:45.80\00:21:47.47 Our hearts are deceitful, we can't trust ourselves, 00:21:47.50\00:21:49.97 we are bent on making 00:21:50.01\00:21:51.34 the wrong decisions over, and over, and over again, 00:21:51.37\00:21:54.01 and I believe almost anyone 00:21:54.04\00:21:55.68 that takes a faithful look at their own lives 00:21:55.71\00:21:57.48 can see the truth of the Bible in their own reality. 00:21:57.51\00:21:59.78 Making decisions you look back at it and you say, 00:21:59.81\00:22:01.88 "Man, I wish, I never made that decision, 00:22:01.92\00:22:03.32 I really deceived myself." 00:22:03.35\00:22:04.75 But the Bible already told us that a true knowledge of self 00:22:04.79\00:22:06.99 helps me see how messed up I am, 00:22:07.02\00:22:10.06 that I can go to someone who's not missed up, 00:22:10.09\00:22:11.99 that he can clean me up. 00:22:12.03\00:22:13.36 Right. 00:22:13.40\00:22:14.73 But if I'm stuck 00:22:14.76\00:22:16.10 in the "Knowledge of self that I am God, 00:22:16.13\00:22:17.90 and I am the supreme being and I'm the one 00:22:17.93\00:22:19.97 that has the knowledge wisdom 00:22:20.00\00:22:22.00 and the so-called overstanding", 00:22:22.04\00:22:23.77 then I'm not gonna go ahead and go to 00:22:23.81\00:22:26.04 this one and only God, and submit myself to him, 00:22:26.07\00:22:28.91 and let not my will, 00:22:28.94\00:22:30.28 but His be done even if it means 00:22:30.31\00:22:32.25 I must be faithful unto death. 00:22:32.28\00:22:33.82 I'm not gonna let those things be a reality for them. 00:22:33.85\00:22:35.98 So this is the deception of knowledge of self 00:22:36.02\00:22:38.15 in comparison to the reality and the truth 00:22:38.19\00:22:40.69 of true knowledge of self. 00:22:40.72\00:22:42.46 So we can't get our own righteousness, 00:22:42.49\00:22:46.73 we need to get it from God, so the question, 00:22:46.76\00:22:48.36 the next question is, "How do we get it?" 00:22:48.40\00:22:49.73 How do we get it? 00:22:49.76\00:22:51.10 Well, let's consider what the Bible says. 00:22:51.13\00:22:52.67 If we were to look right back at Romans 3, 00:22:52.70\00:22:55.20 just consider verse 22, I think it's very clear. 00:22:55.24\00:22:58.47 In Romans the 3:22, 00:22:58.51\00:23:02.01 how then do we get righteousness, 00:23:02.04\00:23:04.05 considering that we need it, 00:23:04.08\00:23:05.48 it was God's original plan we fell from it, 00:23:05.51\00:23:08.48 we've tried to establish our own, 00:23:08.52\00:23:10.49 we have failed miserably. 00:23:10.52\00:23:12.65 And now we are at a point, where we're seeing, 00:23:12.69\00:23:14.16 "Lord, okay, how then do I get what you want me to get?" 00:23:14.19\00:23:16.99 The Bible says, in Romans 3:22, 00:23:17.03\00:23:20.03 "Even the righteousness of God 00:23:20.06\00:23:22.80 which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all 00:23:22.83\00:23:28.67 and upon all them that believe, for there is no difference." 00:23:28.70\00:23:33.04 So the Bible makes it clear that righteousness can come 00:23:33.07\00:23:35.91 to a man today, 00:23:35.94\00:23:37.45 but it can only come by faith, 00:23:37.48\00:23:39.61 and it has to come by faith of Jesus Christ. 00:23:39.65\00:23:42.58 This is why Christianity is the solution. 00:23:42.62\00:23:45.65 We know that 00:23:45.69\00:23:47.02 they are perversions to Christianity. 00:23:47.06\00:23:48.39 I mean, I'm a black man and there are people 00:23:48.42\00:23:49.76 who literally will say that there are things 00:23:49.79\00:23:51.29 that are "Black" 00:23:51.33\00:23:52.96 that I can look back, and say, excuse me, I'm not like that. 00:23:52.99\00:23:55.70 You know, there are things that we are told a way a person 00:23:55.73\00:23:58.10 talks, dresses, acts, and they'll say, 00:23:58.13\00:24:00.04 "Oh, he's talking, or addressing, 00:24:00.07\00:24:01.40 or acting like a black man." 00:24:01.44\00:24:02.77 I'm like, "Excuse me, I'm a black man, 00:24:02.80\00:24:04.14 and I don't talk, dress, or act like that" 00:24:04.17\00:24:05.51 so I find that to be disrespectful, 00:24:05.54\00:24:07.01 in fact insulting. 00:24:07.04\00:24:08.38 Well, there's a lot of disrespect 00:24:08.41\00:24:09.74 and insult given to Christianity. 00:24:09.78\00:24:11.58 You often hear the story, 00:24:11.61\00:24:12.95 even told many a times to hip-hop culture, 00:24:12.98\00:24:15.62 it was the Christians 00:24:15.65\00:24:16.99 that enslaved the Africans, and etcetera. 00:24:17.02\00:24:18.65 I can guarantee you 00:24:18.69\00:24:20.02 those people were not Christians. 00:24:20.06\00:24:21.52 You know, they were putting up a front 00:24:21.56\00:24:22.89 they were a bunch of actors. 00:24:22.92\00:24:24.26 But they were not Christians. 00:24:24.29\00:24:25.63 True biblical Christianity is the solution 00:24:25.66\00:24:29.36 on how mankind can receive righteousness, 00:24:29.40\00:24:32.57 but it's only gonna come by faith 00:24:32.60\00:24:34.77 in that man, name Jesus Christ. 00:24:34.80\00:24:37.04 All right, so essentially 00:24:37.07\00:24:39.11 we're kind of unwrapping some deeper layers here. 00:24:39.14\00:24:43.35 Essentially then the gospel 00:24:43.38\00:24:45.98 or Jesus Christ is the central theme, 00:24:46.01\00:24:49.02 this idea of salvation 00:24:49.05\00:24:50.39 is the central theme of the Bible, 00:24:50.42\00:24:52.29 or the central theme of everything? 00:24:52.32\00:24:53.66 That's correct. 00:24:53.69\00:24:55.02 I love a statement that I read in the book Education. 00:24:55.06\00:24:56.89 In the book Education it was on page 125 00:24:56.93\00:24:59.79 that it made a very profound statement. 00:24:59.83\00:25:01.16 I'm gonna read it. Okay. 00:25:01.20\00:25:02.53 It states, "The central theme of the Bible, 00:25:02.56\00:25:06.57 the theme about which every other 00:25:06.60\00:25:09.10 in the whole book clusters is the redemption plan, 00:25:09.14\00:25:13.04 the restoration in the human soul 00:25:13.07\00:25:15.18 of the image of God. 00:25:15.21\00:25:16.64 From the first intimation of hope 00:25:16.68\00:25:18.41 in the sentence pronounced in Eden 00:25:18.45\00:25:20.12 to that last glorious promise of the Revelation, 00:25:20.15\00:25:23.02 they shall see His face, 00:25:23.05\00:25:24.49 and His name shall be in their foreheads, 00:25:24.52\00:25:26.49 the burden of every book and every passage of the Bible 00:25:26.52\00:25:30.16 is the unfolding of this wondrous theme. 00:25:30.19\00:25:33.23 Man's uplifting, the power of God, 00:25:33.26\00:25:35.96 which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." 00:25:36.00\00:25:40.64 So this is the theme of the Bible. 00:25:40.67\00:25:43.10 This is the emphasis of scripture. 00:25:43.14\00:25:45.24 This is why our Lord Jesus has admonished us, 00:25:45.27\00:25:48.34 don't live by bread alone but live by every word 00:25:48.38\00:25:52.45 that proceeds out of the mouth of God. 00:25:52.48\00:25:55.25 So since this is the goal, 00:25:55.28\00:25:59.12 it was imperative 00:25:59.15\00:26:00.66 that God would then create a lifestyle, 00:26:00.69\00:26:04.09 a way to live so that we aren't simply left with all of these, 00:26:04.13\00:26:08.66 you know, precious truths in this reality 00:26:08.70\00:26:10.93 that's presented to us, 00:26:10.97\00:26:12.30 and then all the sudden we just got to figure it out. 00:26:12.33\00:26:14.14 You know, how do we walk, talk, eat, 00:26:14.17\00:26:16.17 dress because it is important so, 00:26:16.20\00:26:17.74 you know, by definition when we talk about culture, 00:26:17.77\00:26:20.31 it's essentially how humans live. 00:26:20.34\00:26:23.04 That's right. 00:26:23.08\00:26:24.41 You know, everything that they do is part of culture, 00:26:24.45\00:26:27.08 so God is going to then give a culture. 00:26:27.12\00:26:31.69 He's not going to just leave us cultureless. 00:26:31.72\00:26:34.72 That's right. 00:26:34.76\00:26:36.09 So we're not coming into a situation 00:26:36.12\00:26:37.46 where we're saying, 00:26:37.49\00:26:38.86 culture is not important, 00:26:38.89\00:26:40.23 culture is essential and it's vitally important, 00:26:40.26\00:26:42.56 but culture is dictated and it's a reality 00:26:42.60\00:26:44.87 that was given us by God himself. 00:26:44.90\00:26:46.94 That's correct. 00:26:46.97\00:26:48.30 So we're gonna be talking about this culture of Christianity, 00:26:48.34\00:26:51.77 and we're gonna be moving forward 00:26:51.81\00:26:53.14 and contrasting that with the hip-hop culture. 00:26:53.17\00:26:55.31 That's right. 00:26:55.34\00:26:56.68 Because we have to realize, and we have to understand that, 00:26:56.71\00:27:01.12 just because it's rich, and it's cultured, 00:27:01.15\00:27:04.55 and it's powerful, and it affects people, 00:27:04.59\00:27:06.52 and it changes lives, doesn't mean it's right. 00:27:06.55\00:27:08.86 That's right. 00:27:08.89\00:27:10.23 And that's what we have to be able to differentiate. 00:27:10.26\00:27:12.33 God has given a superior culture 00:27:12.36\00:27:14.43 and we have to acknowledge that. 00:27:14.46\00:27:16.93 So when we come back in our next episode, 00:27:16.97\00:27:19.73 we're gonna be talking about 00:27:19.77\00:27:21.10 more of this knowledge of self versus 00:27:21.14\00:27:22.47 true knowledge of self. 00:27:22.50\00:27:23.84 We're going to look at hip-hop culture 00:27:23.87\00:27:25.21 because myself and Dwayne came up 00:27:25.24\00:27:27.51 in hip-hop culture, 00:27:27.54\00:27:28.88 we valued it we thought it was the most important thing 00:27:28.91\00:27:31.31 on the planet to represent, and to demonstrate, 00:27:31.35\00:27:34.32 and to exemplify. 00:27:34.35\00:27:35.68 And we're gonna talk about that. 00:27:35.72\00:27:38.05 So I want to encourage you to join us again 00:27:38.09\00:27:40.62 in our next episode, 00:27:40.66\00:27:42.16 and I also want you to always remember, 00:27:42.19\00:27:44.56 as it is written in Proverbs Chapter 2:6, 00:27:44.59\00:27:48.43 "It is the Lord that gives wisdom 00:27:48.46\00:27:51.47 and out of His mouth comes knowledge and understanding." 00:27:51.50\00:27:55.34 I can't wait to see you again. 00:27:55.37\00:27:56.94 And as we continue next time, we want you to be enriched, 00:27:56.97\00:28:01.74 and obtain a true knowledge of self. 00:28:01.78\00:28:05.58
