Hello, I'm Lance Wilbur. 00:00:30.36\00:00:31.69 I'm Dwayne Lemon. 00:00:31.73\00:00:33.06 And we'd like to welcome you to another edition of TKS, 00:00:33.09\00:00:35.86 a True Knowledge of Self, 00:00:35.90\00:00:37.53 where we get to know ourselves from a biblical perspective. 00:00:37.57\00:00:41.47 Now as we continue our discussion 00:00:41.50\00:00:44.17 regarding appetite 00:00:44.21\00:00:45.54 but specifically eating and drinking. 00:00:45.57\00:00:48.64 We've covered a lot of things. 00:00:48.68\00:00:50.15 We've talked about what the Bible says 00:00:50.18\00:00:52.05 generally about the matter. 00:00:52.08\00:00:53.72 We've discussed what the Bible says 00:00:53.75\00:00:55.25 specifically about the matter 00:00:55.28\00:00:56.95 and now we've even touched upon objections, 00:00:56.99\00:01:01.76 common objections when people say, well, yeah, 00:01:01.79\00:01:04.09 the Bible says this but what about that? 00:01:04.13\00:01:05.86 Hasn't it changed the rules, 00:01:05.89\00:01:08.83 changed the instruction that God has given? 00:01:08.86\00:01:11.37 Didn't God make everything clean 00:01:11.40\00:01:13.94 or possible for men to eat, 00:01:13.97\00:01:16.60 or we looked at Acts 10 and saw that, that wasn't so. 00:01:16.64\00:01:18.97 But that vision that God gave Peter 00:01:19.01\00:01:21.04 was actually referring to his acceptance of men, 00:01:21.08\00:01:24.78 non-Jewish men. 00:01:24.81\00:01:26.72 The idea that he is not to call any man common or unclean 00:01:26.75\00:01:31.55 and so he went to the Roman officer Cornelius' house 00:01:31.59\00:01:35.92 and was able to deliver a message 00:01:35.96\00:01:37.56 and share space with him, 00:01:37.59\00:01:39.23 with them which previously, he would never have done 00:01:39.26\00:01:42.23 because it was unlawful for a Jew to do those things. 00:01:42.26\00:01:46.27 And we saw some other things about clean and unclean. 00:01:46.30\00:01:48.77 Is it a Jewish principle? No. 00:01:48.80\00:01:50.51 We saw that in the Bible 00:01:50.54\00:01:51.87 all the way back in the time of Noah. 00:01:51.91\00:01:54.78 There was no Jewish man existing on the earth 00:01:54.81\00:01:56.75 but there was an understanding of clean versus unclean. 00:01:56.78\00:01:59.58 And we saw that those things 00:01:59.61\00:02:00.95 are dealing with healthy versus unhealthy. 00:02:00.98\00:02:04.49 Now, we know in the inner city communities 00:02:04.52\00:02:10.56 and in the hip-hop culture, 00:02:10.59\00:02:13.73 we're affected by chronic illness 00:02:13.76\00:02:16.23 and chronic disease at a rate much higher 00:02:16.26\00:02:19.13 than the general population statistically, 00:02:19.17\00:02:21.94 and I think and I know and trust that 00:02:21.97\00:02:26.27 if we were to follow God's principles of health, 00:02:26.31\00:02:30.71 God's principles of how we are to govern our body temples 00:02:30.75\00:02:34.52 that we would not see the massive amount of disease 00:02:34.55\00:02:38.55 and early death that we see in our communities. 00:02:38.59\00:02:41.49 So I think God has something here for us 00:02:41.52\00:02:43.59 and it's not necessarily just for us, 00:02:43.63\00:02:46.23 it's for all of humanity, 00:02:46.26\00:02:48.33 and I think the time has come for us to take another look 00:02:48.36\00:02:52.50 and not only to take a look but to actually be willing 00:02:52.53\00:02:55.47 to make some changes, not by our own will power 00:02:55.50\00:02:58.47 but by the grace and power of God. 00:02:58.51\00:03:01.78 Now, Dwayne, we are not, 00:03:01.81\00:03:04.81 we spend a lot of time talking about eating. 00:03:04.85\00:03:07.28 I remember, I made a point early on, 00:03:07.32\00:03:09.62 in an earlier episode that the two main things 00:03:09.65\00:03:13.76 that we do as human beings in the span of our life. 00:03:13.79\00:03:16.02 If we added up all the hours of the average lifetime, 00:03:16.06\00:03:19.03 we eat and drink, excuse me, 00:03:19.06\00:03:21.13 we eat and sleep more than anything else. 00:03:21.16\00:03:23.47 And so, you have to adjust the eating thing 00:03:23.50\00:03:25.60 because people do a lot of it. 00:03:25.63\00:03:26.97 That's right. 00:03:27.00\00:03:28.34 And it is dramatically affecting our health. 00:03:28.37\00:03:29.80 That's correct. 00:03:29.84\00:03:31.17 And not only is it affecting our physical health 00:03:31.21\00:03:32.71 but we understand that it is affecting our mental 00:03:32.74\00:03:34.68 and emotional health, 00:03:34.71\00:03:36.04 and therefore it's affecting our social health 00:03:36.08\00:03:37.88 and most importantly our spiritual health. 00:03:37.91\00:03:39.95 That's right. 00:03:39.98\00:03:41.32 So we've made all these connections. 00:03:41.35\00:03:42.68 We saw, we've seen all these things. 00:03:42.72\00:03:44.65 What about drinking? 00:03:44.69\00:03:46.02 What about the other things 00:03:46.05\00:03:47.39 that we're putting into our bodies 00:03:47.42\00:03:48.76 that I used to put into my body, 00:03:48.79\00:03:50.39 you used to put it in your body. 00:03:50.43\00:03:52.13 And in hip-hop culture, you're not down 00:03:52.16\00:03:56.90 if you don't do certain things. 00:03:56.93\00:03:58.33 That's right. 00:03:58.37\00:03:59.70 You know, there was a time, I remember 00:03:59.73\00:04:01.44 of course years ago. 00:04:01.47\00:04:03.00 I'm in the world, I'm doing everything 00:04:03.04\00:04:05.34 that I think is right in my own eyes 00:04:05.37\00:04:06.78 and I found myself at a house party. 00:04:06.81\00:04:08.64 In at a house party, you know, 00:04:08.68\00:04:10.88 house parties are little different than clubs. 00:04:10.91\00:04:12.31 You know, in the clubs, you have a bar 00:04:12.35\00:04:13.82 and you can just go ahead and pay for whatever you want 00:04:13.85\00:04:16.52 and get something to drink or to eat. 00:04:16.55\00:04:18.25 But in a house party, they just have, maybe a table 00:04:18.29\00:04:21.72 and that table will just have food there or drinks there 00:04:21.76\00:04:24.69 and you can just grab whatever you want. 00:04:24.73\00:04:26.59 Well, I remember one time I was at a party 00:04:26.63\00:04:28.96 and, of course, I love to dance, 00:04:29.00\00:04:31.07 and I find myself dancing, dancing, dancing 00:04:31.10\00:04:32.73 and it got to a point I was thirsty 00:04:32.77\00:04:34.64 and I remember that... I saw this big bowl, 00:04:34.67\00:04:38.04 you know they use these bowls and this is the time 00:04:38.07\00:04:40.18 when fruit punch, you know was still a hit. 00:04:40.21\00:04:42.24 The punch bowl. Yeah, the punch bowl. 00:04:42.28\00:04:44.18 So, you know, here it is that I'm seeing this bowl of punch 00:04:44.21\00:04:47.32 and I'm like, okay, well, I'm gonna get some of that 00:04:47.35\00:04:49.32 and what they did was they would pour cups 00:04:49.35\00:04:51.95 and you have them set aside so you didn't have to go 00:04:51.99\00:04:54.29 and use the scooper and just pour, 00:04:54.32\00:04:55.66 you could just grab a cup and take it. 00:04:55.69\00:04:57.03 Yeah. 00:04:57.06\00:04:58.39 Well, I saw one of these cups available 00:04:58.43\00:04:59.76 and I took it and I began to drink it. 00:04:59.79\00:05:01.70 When I drank it, I realized, I said, 00:05:01.73\00:05:03.16 you know this is not a fruit punch. 00:05:03.20\00:05:05.07 You know, I know a fruit punch tasted like, 00:05:05.10\00:05:06.80 know what a Kool-Aid taste like 00:05:06.84\00:05:08.17 but this was different from all of that. 00:05:08.20\00:05:09.54 So I'm just drinking this thing but I like it, you know, 00:05:09.57\00:05:12.77 it had a buzz to it, you know 00:05:12.81\00:05:15.54 it's kind of making me feel good. 00:05:15.58\00:05:17.05 So I start drinking it 00:05:17.08\00:05:18.91 and as I'm drinking, drinking, drinking, 00:05:18.95\00:05:21.22 they used to have something 00:05:21.25\00:05:22.58 and I'm sure they still have it today, 00:05:22.62\00:05:24.45 but there was something called slow jams, 00:05:24.49\00:05:26.45 you know, the slow songs in this way 00:05:26.49\00:05:27.82 everybody can dance with their girlfriends 00:05:27.86\00:05:30.43 and get close, you know. 00:05:30.46\00:05:32.09 And I remember, there was a dance style 00:05:32.13\00:05:34.13 called the running man, 00:05:34.16\00:05:35.56 and the running man was a dance style, 00:05:35.60\00:05:37.23 you know, you move real fast, real fast 00:05:37.27\00:05:39.13 and you know, I remember that, they were playing a slow jam 00:05:39.17\00:05:44.34 and I was doing the running man 00:05:44.37\00:05:46.78 and I just started doing the running man 00:05:46.81\00:05:48.18 and I just started making noise and kind of talking silly 00:05:48.21\00:05:50.48 and everything and walking all throughout the house 00:05:50.51\00:05:53.55 and everybody was looking at me like I was crazy. 00:05:53.58\00:05:55.08 Yeah. 00:05:55.12\00:05:56.45 Eventually, I kind of sobered up and I realized, 00:05:56.48\00:05:59.45 I asked somebody a day or so later. 00:05:59.49\00:06:02.06 I said listen, what was that in that drink? 00:06:02.09\00:06:05.03 And they said this, that was something called Cisco 00:06:05.06\00:06:07.60 and they... 00:06:07.63\00:06:09.86 You know, there was a term that they used 00:06:09.90\00:06:11.23 in the neighborhood calling Cisco, 00:06:11.27\00:06:13.60 they said Cisco was equivalent to like liquid crack. 00:06:13.64\00:06:16.00 Yeah, crack juice. 00:06:16.04\00:06:17.37 Crack juice, yeah. Now, hold on. 00:06:17.41\00:06:18.74 Let me get this straight. So it wasn't fruit punch. 00:06:18.77\00:06:20.11 It was not fruit punch. 00:06:20.14\00:06:21.48 The whole bowl was Cisco. 00:06:21.51\00:06:22.84 The whole bowl was filled with Cisco. 00:06:22.88\00:06:24.61 So just about all of us got drunk that night, 00:06:24.65\00:06:26.98 and I can only imagine what everybody else did 00:06:27.02\00:06:29.42 because I just had this one cup and I'm dancing 00:06:29.45\00:06:31.79 and I'm going crazy and eventually, 00:06:31.82\00:06:33.46 I just remember everything kind of blanking out 00:06:33.49\00:06:35.02 and then I find myself home and then, next thing, 00:06:35.06\00:06:37.06 you know a day or so later. 00:06:37.09\00:06:38.43 And this is kind of my introduction to alcohol 00:06:38.46\00:06:41.30 and my father, you know, he was big on drinking alcohol. 00:06:41.33\00:06:44.13 We would have this big shelf in the house downstairs 00:06:44.17\00:06:47.04 and he had a lock to it. 00:06:47.07\00:06:48.40 And he would have 00:06:48.44\00:06:49.94 just a lot of different alcoholic beverages there. 00:06:49.97\00:06:53.01 Just about all the name brands that you can imagine. 00:06:53.04\00:06:54.38 A liquor cabinet. 00:06:54.41\00:06:55.74 Yeah, just a liquor cabinet, exactly. 00:06:55.78\00:06:57.11 And I found the key and I found the key 00:06:57.15\00:06:59.81 and I knew how to be sneaky. 00:06:59.85\00:07:01.25 So I would get the key, make sure dad wasn't looking. 00:07:01.28\00:07:04.19 Unlock the door and I started trying 00:07:04.22\00:07:06.96 all these different alcohols and before you know it, 00:07:06.99\00:07:09.39 I found myself enjoying these things, 00:07:09.42\00:07:11.89 and alcohol became a real strong part of my life 00:07:11.93\00:07:15.73 for a period of time. 00:07:15.76\00:07:17.17 And it's interesting 00:07:17.20\00:07:18.53 because even when you go to a club today, 00:07:18.57\00:07:21.17 when you go to a party today or what have you, 00:07:21.20\00:07:23.81 it is almost strange to be in an environment 00:07:23.84\00:07:27.41 where hip-hop culture is being demonstrated 00:07:27.44\00:07:29.18 specifically through the music and entertainment, 00:07:29.21\00:07:31.28 and alcohol is not part of the package. 00:07:31.31\00:07:32.91 Right, and they have something, 00:07:32.95\00:07:34.28 even people who don't drink normally, 00:07:34.32\00:07:36.18 they have social drinking. 00:07:36.22\00:07:37.69 So I don't drink normally but, hey, I'm at a party 00:07:37.72\00:07:40.46 and so I'm gonna have a little wine 00:07:40.49\00:07:41.82 or, hey, I'm at a party and I'll have a beer. 00:07:41.86\00:07:43.19 I'm gonna have a little this or little that. 00:07:43.22\00:07:44.76 Even though I don't normally do it 00:07:44.79\00:07:46.16 but in this context, in this environment, 00:07:46.19\00:07:48.40 I'm just gonna do it because that's what you do. 00:07:48.43\00:07:50.07 Exactly. 00:07:50.10\00:07:51.43 So, you know, at this point now, 00:07:51.47\00:07:52.80 I'm looking at this and I'm saying, 00:07:52.83\00:07:54.17 you know, it's not just the eating habits 00:07:54.20\00:07:55.80 but it's also the drinking habits 00:07:55.84\00:07:57.17 that's affecting society at large, 00:07:57.21\00:07:59.57 specifically the urban communities 00:07:59.61\00:08:01.28 and definitely in the hip-hop culture. 00:08:01.31\00:08:03.81 Now, and do we think it's a coincidence 00:08:03.85\00:08:07.08 that we're talking about the health and the food aspect. 00:08:07.12\00:08:11.02 Now we're talking about the alcohol. 00:08:11.05\00:08:12.52 You know, I watched the documentary, 00:08:12.55\00:08:13.89 I won't mention it, you know, it's a mainstream documentary 00:08:13.92\00:08:17.99 looking at health in black America, right. 00:08:18.03\00:08:20.40 Yes. 00:08:20.43\00:08:21.76 And they interview a lady that lives somewhere in, 00:08:21.80\00:08:24.37 I forget which borough, it might have been Manhattan 00:08:24.40\00:08:27.40 or maybe it was Bronx, I'm not sure, 00:08:27.44\00:08:28.90 a certain borough in New York. 00:08:28.94\00:08:30.54 And it's an older lady and she was explaining 00:08:30.57\00:08:33.27 how she has to take a two hour ride on the metro 00:08:33.31\00:08:36.95 just to get fresh tomatoes. 00:08:36.98\00:08:38.41 Yeah. 00:08:38.45\00:08:39.78 Yet you can walk in any borough, in any, 00:08:39.81\00:08:43.22 you know, even the poorest neighborhoods, 00:08:43.25\00:08:45.05 you know, it seems like almost every other block 00:08:45.09\00:08:47.66 on some places more than one on a block, 00:08:47.69\00:08:50.29 liquor stores all over the place. 00:08:50.33\00:08:51.76 Yeah, isn't that something? 00:08:51.79\00:08:53.13 I mean, you know, and therefore we have to understand that, 00:08:53.16\00:08:56.73 yes, there are powers that be, 00:08:56.77\00:08:58.10 that are beyond even our control to a large degree 00:08:58.13\00:09:00.60 anyhow where there is a debilitation 00:09:00.64\00:09:04.01 that is consistently being introduced to the people 00:09:04.04\00:09:06.71 in urban communities and what have you. 00:09:06.74\00:09:08.51 Those things need to be addressed, 00:09:08.54\00:09:10.25 but there is a decision we can make right now, 00:09:10.28\00:09:13.01 even if the liquor store is right down the block for me, 00:09:13.05\00:09:15.75 and again it comes from true education. 00:09:15.78\00:09:17.75 It comes from understanding the Word of God, 00:09:17.79\00:09:20.06 because alcohol is responsible for several accidents 00:09:20.09\00:09:23.63 that we see taking place throughout our world 00:09:23.66\00:09:25.66 especially in our country, where individuals get drunk 00:09:25.69\00:09:28.06 and they do drunk driving. 00:09:28.10\00:09:29.43 And then, of course, we have alcohol 00:09:29.46\00:09:30.93 being behind several of the most horrific crimes, 00:09:30.97\00:09:33.67 homicides, robberies and things of that nature. 00:09:33.70\00:09:35.84 So alcohol is a very destructive drug 00:09:35.87\00:09:39.27 quite honestly, and yet this is something 00:09:39.31\00:09:41.61 that has become the regular drink 00:09:41.64\00:09:43.61 for those of us or those individuals 00:09:43.65\00:09:45.58 who are in the hip-hop culture, those who may even be involved 00:09:45.61\00:09:49.42 in other forms of new age 00:09:49.45\00:09:50.95 and those who are not even religious of any kind. 00:09:50.99\00:09:52.79 Right, and for those of us who used to, you know, 00:09:52.82\00:09:55.06 get into that and be, I could say, I was alcoholic. 00:09:55.09\00:09:57.16 I drank just about everyday, you know, as a young child 00:09:57.19\00:10:01.00 going all the way into my teenage, 00:10:01.03\00:10:02.36 late teenage years. 00:10:02.40\00:10:04.83 You, I guarantee, those of, you know, 00:10:04.87\00:10:08.07 the viewers and as in my experience, 00:10:08.10\00:10:11.37 you found yourself doing things, 00:10:11.41\00:10:14.01 some of the worst moments in your life or doing things 00:10:14.04\00:10:16.85 that you would never do normally when you were drunk. 00:10:16.88\00:10:19.51 That's right. 00:10:19.55\00:10:20.88 And it almost becomes a joke, 00:10:20.92\00:10:22.25 you say, oh, you tell the story, oh man 00:10:22.28\00:10:23.95 I was drunk last night and XYZ. 00:10:23.99\00:10:26.29 And but it's, some of the most grotesque 00:10:26.32\00:10:29.22 and detestable and destructive things 00:10:29.26\00:10:32.33 that you could do to yourself or to other people 00:10:32.36\00:10:34.36 happen in that circumstance. 00:10:34.40\00:10:35.73 That's right. 00:10:35.76\00:10:37.10 And you know, we have to understand our value 00:10:37.13\00:10:38.47 because it's possible that you can go to somebody 00:10:38.50\00:10:40.37 and say, listen, when you drink alcohol 00:10:40.40\00:10:42.10 even in moderation, it destroys thousands of brain cells 00:10:42.14\00:10:45.17 that cannot be revived. 00:10:45.21\00:10:46.81 And when a person can hear something like that, 00:10:46.84\00:10:49.18 they can say, well, that's interesting fact 00:10:49.21\00:10:50.98 but they are not moved. 00:10:51.01\00:10:52.35 In other words, I don't care. 00:10:52.38\00:10:53.78 I like it and therefore I'm gonna go ahead and do it. 00:10:53.82\00:10:56.12 So we have people who have this kind of mindset 00:10:56.15\00:10:58.55 and that's why while scientific facts 00:10:58.59\00:11:00.69 definitely hold their place, 00:11:00.72\00:11:02.32 we want to take them to other facts as well. 00:11:02.36\00:11:05.06 And one of the facts that I like to present 00:11:05.09\00:11:06.59 to individuals is to let them know, listen, 00:11:06.63\00:11:08.50 first and foremost, when God looks at us, 00:11:08.53\00:11:12.27 He looks at us in a very special way 00:11:12.30\00:11:13.84 and it's found in the Book of Zechariah 2, 00:11:13.87\00:11:15.64 and I like to talk about this 00:11:15.67\00:11:17.01 because when an individual can understand 00:11:17.04\00:11:20.01 something about their value in the eyes of God, 00:11:20.04\00:11:22.71 I believe it helps them as it relates to, you know, 00:11:22.74\00:11:26.08 how they should be viewed and how they should, 00:11:26.11\00:11:29.08 you know, function in life. 00:11:29.12\00:11:30.45 Yes. 00:11:30.49\00:11:31.82 In the Book of Zechariah 2, 00:11:31.85\00:11:33.19 I want you to notice what it says in verse 8. 00:11:33.22\00:11:34.79 Zachariah 2:8. 00:11:34.82\00:11:36.62 The Bible says, "For thus saith the Lord of hosts: 00:11:36.66\00:11:39.49 after the glory hath he sent me unto the nations 00:11:39.53\00:11:42.40 which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you 00:11:42.43\00:11:46.10 toucheth the apple of his eye." 00:11:46.13\00:11:48.37 I always love to let people know 00:11:48.40\00:11:49.74 that God when He looks at us 00:11:49.77\00:11:51.77 and when we are willing to receive Him in our hearts, 00:11:51.81\00:11:54.74 He looks at us and He says to us, 00:11:54.78\00:11:56.64 you are the apple of my eye. 00:11:56.68\00:11:58.15 You know, there has been songs that have come out years ago 00:11:58.18\00:12:00.42 that talk about you are the apple of my eye 00:12:00.45\00:12:02.42 in secular world. 00:12:02.45\00:12:03.79 And that phraseology is about you're special, 00:12:03.82\00:12:07.26 you mean something to me, you are dear to my heart. 00:12:07.29\00:12:10.13 God has made it known to us that we are dear to His heart. 00:12:10.16\00:12:12.69 That's why He sent His Son. 00:12:12.73\00:12:14.06 While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 00:12:14.10\00:12:16.80 And we find that God looks at us and says, 00:12:16.83\00:12:19.13 I find value in you, 00:12:19.17\00:12:20.50 and that's why I was willing to let My Son die for you. 00:12:20.54\00:12:22.67 So when we look at ourselves, we have to see ourselves 00:12:22.70\00:12:24.81 through the eyes of God. 00:12:24.84\00:12:26.17 We have to see that God loves us. 00:12:26.21\00:12:27.58 We have to see that God looks at us 00:12:27.61\00:12:29.08 and He says, you're the apple of my eye, 00:12:29.11\00:12:30.55 and not only that but then God says, 00:12:30.58\00:12:32.95 I also want you to be My ambassador. 00:12:32.98\00:12:37.02 You know, to be an ambassador, 00:12:37.05\00:12:38.39 you're representative of a nation. 00:12:38.42\00:12:39.75 Right. 00:12:39.79\00:12:41.12 You know, in this case, we are representative 00:12:41.16\00:12:42.49 of a heavenly country and God says that 00:12:42.52\00:12:44.59 I want you to represent Me when you go to other people 00:12:44.63\00:12:47.30 and therefore when we go to other people, 00:12:47.33\00:12:48.83 we want to give a clear picture of who God is, 00:12:48.86\00:12:51.97 so that way when they behold us by God's grace, 00:12:52.00\00:12:55.00 they can see Christ in us, the hope of glory. 00:12:55.04\00:12:57.27 We need to let our friends know in our urban communities 00:12:57.31\00:12:59.94 and in hip-hop culture to say, listen, 00:12:59.97\00:13:02.21 when Jesus came to this earth, He had you on His mind. 00:13:02.24\00:13:04.55 Yeah. 00:13:04.58\00:13:05.91 And when He died, He had you on His mind, 00:13:05.95\00:13:07.28 and when He rose, He had you on His mind, 00:13:07.32\00:13:08.92 and He said when He's coming back, 00:13:08.95\00:13:10.55 He has you on his mind. 00:13:10.59\00:13:11.92 So throughout the ages, God has us on His mind, 00:13:11.95\00:13:14.92 and as a result of that it should help a value system 00:13:14.96\00:13:18.39 to come into me that says, listen, 00:13:18.43\00:13:20.46 God has an expectation for me and by the grace of God, 00:13:20.50\00:13:23.40 I want to be ready when He comes. 00:13:23.43\00:13:24.77 I want to live for Him. 00:13:24.80\00:13:26.13 And so that's very important, because, you know, 00:13:26.17\00:13:28.90 that's one of the tenants, you know, 00:13:28.94\00:13:30.27 that's one of kind of the hooks 00:13:30.31\00:13:31.64 for this knowledge of self in the street 00:13:31.67\00:13:33.98 and, you know, all these other groups 00:13:34.01\00:13:36.11 that we talked about 00:13:36.14\00:13:37.51 that, that knowing yourself, knowing your true identity, 00:13:37.55\00:13:40.28 your true value, your true worth 00:13:40.32\00:13:41.65 and racial pride and all these things. 00:13:41.68\00:13:43.08 Yeah. 00:13:43.12\00:13:44.45 That's not where the security lies. 00:13:44.49\00:13:46.15 It's not in racial pride. 00:13:46.19\00:13:48.02 It's not in black power or whatever other power. 00:13:48.06\00:13:51.29 It's understanding our true value 00:13:51.33\00:13:53.90 in the sight of God will give us all those things 00:13:53.93\00:13:56.67 that every human being needs and desires. 00:13:56.70\00:13:58.57 That's right. 00:13:58.60\00:13:59.93 Now when I understand that God has called me 00:13:59.97\00:14:03.47 to be an ambassador, 00:14:03.51\00:14:04.87 representative of Him to others, 00:14:04.91\00:14:06.98 then that automatically means 00:14:07.01\00:14:08.34 that there is certain behaviors about my life 00:14:08.38\00:14:10.05 that should be different from others. 00:14:10.08\00:14:11.65 So that I can understand that 00:14:11.68\00:14:13.01 I'm not called into this world for a common task. 00:14:13.05\00:14:14.85 I'm called into this world for a special task. 00:14:14.88\00:14:16.69 I'm a representative of God. That's what I'm called to be. 00:14:16.72\00:14:19.19 Now, one of the instructions 00:14:19.22\00:14:20.79 that God gives to His representatives 00:14:20.82\00:14:22.36 is He says, I want you to give Me glory. 00:14:22.39\00:14:24.43 Remember, we talked about that in the first angel's message, 00:14:24.46\00:14:27.20 "Fear God and give glory to Him." 00:14:27.23\00:14:29.76 One of the ways we do that practically 00:14:29.80\00:14:32.27 is found in 1 Corinthians 10:31. 00:14:32.30\00:14:34.90 In 1 Corinthians 10:31, the Bible says, 00:14:34.94\00:14:39.91 "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, 00:14:39.94\00:14:44.75 do all to the glory of God." 00:14:44.78\00:14:47.62 So it's not that I'm just simply to give God glory, 00:14:47.65\00:14:50.72 God says in my eating and drinking habits, 00:14:50.75\00:14:54.36 I'm also to give him glory. 00:14:54.39\00:14:56.89 Now, that has to be broken down 00:14:56.93\00:14:59.13 because I can either go through a private interpretation 00:14:59.16\00:15:01.63 or I can go through a biblical interpretation. 00:15:01.66\00:15:03.00 Yeah. 00:15:03.03\00:15:04.37 I believe the biblical interpretation is better. 00:15:04.40\00:15:06.60 Okay. 00:15:06.63\00:15:08.27 We saw in Exodus 33:18. We reviewed it. 00:15:08.30\00:15:12.61 And we saw that Moses came to God and said, 00:15:12.64\00:15:14.94 Lord, show me Your glory. 00:15:14.98\00:15:16.98 God responded by saying, I'll show you My goodness 00:15:17.01\00:15:19.88 and proclaim My name in verse 19. 00:15:19.91\00:15:22.82 Then in Exodus 34:5-7, Gods reveals His glory. 00:15:22.85\00:15:28.76 He reveals His goodness. 00:15:28.79\00:15:30.39 He proclaims His name unto Moses 00:15:30.43\00:15:32.33 and he says the Lord, the lord God, 00:15:32.36\00:15:34.76 merciful, gracious, long suffering, 00:15:34.80\00:15:37.17 abundant in goodness and truth, 00:15:37.20\00:15:38.77 keeping mercy for thousands, 00:15:38.80\00:15:40.24 forgiving inequity and transgression and sin 00:15:40.27\00:15:42.30 and will by no means clear the guilty, 00:15:42.34\00:15:44.07 visiting the inequity of the fathers unto the children, 00:15:44.11\00:15:46.01 unto the third and fourth generation. 00:15:46.04\00:15:47.81 So God is revealing His character. 00:15:47.84\00:15:49.64 Yes. His character. 00:15:49.68\00:15:51.15 So to give God glory is to reflect His character. 00:15:51.18\00:15:55.82 Well, now that I understand that, 00:15:55.85\00:15:57.99 then to eat and drink to God's glory 00:15:58.02\00:16:01.86 would be to eat and drink things that enable me 00:16:01.89\00:16:05.36 to reflect God's character. 00:16:05.39\00:16:06.73 Okay. 00:16:06.76\00:16:08.10 To eat and drink things 00:16:08.13\00:16:09.46 that are reflective of God's character. 00:16:09.50\00:16:12.20 Right, so things that help and not harm. 00:16:12.23\00:16:13.90 That's right. 00:16:13.94\00:16:15.27 Things that encourage, not retard the process. 00:16:15.30\00:16:16.64 Well, let's think about it this way, 00:16:16.67\00:16:18.01 an attribute of God's character. 00:16:18.04\00:16:19.37 God says that He is life. 00:16:19.41\00:16:21.14 Remember that, Deuteronomy 30:19 and 20. 00:16:21.18\00:16:23.11 Yeah. God says, choose life. 00:16:23.14\00:16:24.88 Verse 20, He says, "I am life." 00:16:24.91\00:16:26.58 John 14:6. John 14:6. 00:16:26.61\00:16:30.09 Jesus says, "I'm the way, the truth and the life." 00:16:30.12\00:16:32.89 John 11:25, "I am the resurrection and the life." 00:16:32.92\00:16:36.62 So over and over again, God says I am life. 00:16:36.66\00:16:40.40 So watch this. 00:16:40.43\00:16:41.76 So then whatever I eat or whatever I drink 00:16:41.80\00:16:44.40 it should reproduce life in me, not death. 00:16:44.43\00:16:48.17 Psalms 46:1 and 2, 00:16:48.20\00:16:49.97 "God is our refuge and strength, 00:16:50.01\00:16:53.17 a very present help in trouble." 00:16:53.21\00:16:55.58 So therefore I look at that and I say, hmm, 00:16:55.61\00:16:57.91 God is my refuge and strength. 00:16:57.95\00:17:01.15 So therefore whatever I eat or drink, 00:17:01.18\00:17:03.45 it should strengthen my body not weaken it. 00:17:03.49\00:17:07.66 Another one, God says in 1 Corinthians 14:33, 00:17:07.69\00:17:11.69 He says, "I am not the author of confusion, 00:17:11.73\00:17:16.20 but of peace, as in all the churches." 00:17:16.23\00:17:19.20 So if I put something in my body 00:17:19.23\00:17:21.47 that puts my body in a state of confusion, 00:17:21.50\00:17:24.61 I know that I can say, 00:17:24.64\00:17:25.97 wait a minute, this is not good. 00:17:26.01\00:17:27.34 If I put something in my system that causes my heart 00:17:27.38\00:17:29.24 to begin to have unnatural beat rhythm, 00:17:29.28\00:17:31.45 so palpitate. 00:17:31.48\00:17:32.81 I can say, wait a minute, I don't think this food item 00:17:32.85\00:17:34.18 is something I should be putting in me. 00:17:34.22\00:17:35.55 It puts my body in a state of confusion. 00:17:35.58\00:17:39.05 But God says, I'm a God of peace, 00:17:39.09\00:17:42.19 so therefore whatever I put inside of my system, 00:17:42.22\00:17:44.29 it should keep my body in a state of peaceful, 00:17:44.33\00:17:46.80 normalcy that my body can function, 00:17:46.83\00:17:49.26 the way God had designed it. 00:17:49.30\00:17:50.63 This is eating or drinking to the glory of God. 00:17:50.67\00:17:52.60 So now, I look at alcohol and I say, 00:17:52.63\00:17:54.80 well, does alcohol fit the bill. 00:17:54.84\00:17:56.47 Yes. 00:17:56.50\00:17:57.84 Well, Proverbs 20 has an answer for that. 00:17:57.87\00:17:59.51 Let's go to Proverbs 00:17:59.54\00:18:00.88 and we're gonna look at chapter 20 00:18:00.91\00:18:02.58 and let's notice what the Bible says. 00:18:02.61\00:18:03.95 Proverbs 20 00:18:03.98\00:18:05.91 and we're gonna look just at Proverbs 20:1 00:18:05.95\00:18:08.35 and here is what it says. 00:18:08.38\00:18:09.72 It says, "Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: 00:18:09.75\00:18:15.32 and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise." 00:18:15.36\00:18:21.86 The Bible is clear that wine 00:18:21.90\00:18:24.43 and in this context it's speaking of alcohol, 00:18:24.47\00:18:26.84 'cause we gonna look that word wine in just a moment. 00:18:26.87\00:18:28.20 Yeah. 00:18:28.24\00:18:29.57 When speaking of alcohol, 00:18:29.60\00:18:30.94 it's talking about that it has a mocking effect. 00:18:30.97\00:18:33.74 Now, we know that God does not represent 00:18:33.78\00:18:36.18 such a character as this. 00:18:36.21\00:18:37.55 We know, there is one 00:18:37.58\00:18:38.91 however who was a mocker, is that right? 00:18:38.95\00:18:40.28 Yeah. 00:18:40.32\00:18:41.65 So therefore wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging 00:18:41.68\00:18:45.12 and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise. 00:18:45.15\00:18:48.02 Right, and essential that theme there is not wise, you know, 00:18:48.06\00:18:52.06 we've been speaking about that almost every episode. 00:18:52.09\00:18:54.26 That's right. 00:18:54.30\00:18:55.63 The true wisdom of God, the knowledge 00:18:55.66\00:18:57.87 and the true knowledge of self, if you partake of these things, 00:18:57.90\00:19:01.87 it's the opposite. 00:19:01.90\00:19:03.24 That's right. 00:19:03.27\00:19:04.61 So this is why we have to understand 00:19:04.64\00:19:06.27 that God is trying to introduce a thought process to us 00:19:06.31\00:19:08.78 that when I drink, I'm to drink to His glory. 00:19:08.81\00:19:11.75 His glory is His character. 00:19:11.78\00:19:13.72 So whatever I drink, 00:19:13.75\00:19:15.08 it should reproduce His character within me. 00:19:15.12\00:19:17.55 It should have something about it 00:19:17.59\00:19:18.92 that helps me understand 00:19:18.95\00:19:20.32 or tells of the experience of God's character. 00:19:20.36\00:19:22.72 When I drink water it has a cleansing effect. 00:19:22.76\00:19:25.89 That's what water does to the body. 00:19:25.93\00:19:27.26 It cleanses, it hydrates and it cleanses out. 00:19:27.30\00:19:29.53 So it is that Jesus, in His character, 00:19:29.56\00:19:31.43 He is one whose blood cleanses us from sin. 00:19:31.47\00:19:34.40 So I can look at water and say, I can see benefits 00:19:34.44\00:19:37.54 that come from this that are in harmony 00:19:37.57\00:19:39.67 with the attributes of God's character. 00:19:39.71\00:19:41.71 But when I look at alcohol, it's a mocker, 00:19:41.74\00:19:44.65 it's raging and it's deceptive. 00:19:44.68\00:19:47.08 None of that is reflective of God's character. 00:19:47.12\00:19:49.58 So why would I want to drink something like that. 00:19:49.62\00:19:51.59 Right. Proverbs 23. 00:19:51.62\00:19:53.46 In Proverbs 23:29-35, 00:19:53.49\00:19:56.52 it also talks about alcohol and its effects upon us. 00:19:56.56\00:19:59.13 And here's what it says, Proverbs 23:29-35. 00:19:59.16\00:20:04.07 It says, "Who hath woe? 00:20:04.10\00:20:06.74 Who hath sorrow? Who hath contentions? 00:20:06.77\00:20:10.01 Who hath babbling? Who hath wounds without cause? 00:20:10.04\00:20:14.78 Who hath redness of eyes? 00:20:14.81\00:20:17.88 They that tarry long at the wine: 00:20:17.91\00:20:21.62 They that go to seek mixed wine. 00:20:21.65\00:20:24.39 Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, 00:20:24.42\00:20:28.12 when it giveth his color in the cup, 00:20:28.16\00:20:30.06 when it moveth itself aright. 00:20:30.09\00:20:31.99 At the last it biteth like a serpent, 00:20:32.03\00:20:34.30 and stingeth like an adder. 00:20:34.33\00:20:36.46 Thine eyes shall behold strange women, 00:20:36.50\00:20:38.93 and thine heart shall utter perverse things. 00:20:38.97\00:20:42.17 Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down 00:20:42.20\00:20:44.97 in the midst of the sea, 00:20:45.01\00:20:46.34 or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast. 00:20:46.37\00:20:48.74 They have stricken me, shalt thou say, 00:20:48.78\00:20:50.95 and I was not sick, 00:20:50.98\00:20:52.58 they have beaten me, and I felt it not. 00:20:52.61\00:20:55.28 When shall I awake? I will seek it yet again." 00:20:55.32\00:20:59.52 I mean, this is literally the story 00:20:59.55\00:21:01.86 of the experience of alcohol. 00:21:01.89\00:21:03.22 I know, you got experiences. 00:21:03.26\00:21:04.59 Well, I mean, we've gone through these experiences, 00:21:04.63\00:21:06.80 the strange women and finding yourself in places, 00:21:06.83\00:21:08.90 you're saying, where am I? 00:21:08.93\00:21:10.27 The redness of eyes. Yeah. 00:21:10.30\00:21:11.63 All of these effects that come upon an individual 00:21:11.67\00:21:14.20 when God's Word all along says, don't do this. 00:21:14.24\00:21:16.67 And then you sober up and do it again. 00:21:16.71\00:21:18.37 And then you sober up and then we seek it again. 00:21:18.41\00:21:21.01 Where is some more, where is some more? 00:21:21.04\00:21:22.38 But that's because it's a drug 00:21:22.41\00:21:23.88 and it's having chemical reactions in us 00:21:23.91\00:21:25.85 that creates, you know, 00:21:25.88\00:21:27.22 an addiction towards these things. 00:21:27.25\00:21:28.85 And so we find that the Bible, I believe is very clear on it 00:21:28.88\00:21:32.32 that God does not want us 00:21:32.35\00:21:34.52 to partake of this type of drink 00:21:34.56\00:21:36.36 because it's not to His glory and whatever God gives to us, 00:21:36.39\00:21:39.23 it should be for His glory. 00:21:39.26\00:21:41.63 Now of course, you're gonna have people 00:21:41.66\00:21:43.00 who will say, "Didn't Jesus turn the water into wine?" 00:21:43.03\00:21:45.50 Yeah. 00:21:45.53\00:21:46.87 That's what people are gonna say. 00:21:46.90\00:21:48.24 They say, "Jesus turned water into wine in John 2." 00:21:48.27\00:21:49.74 Now this is why the word wine has to be understood, 00:21:49.77\00:21:54.08 because when you look up the word wine, 00:21:54.11\00:21:55.94 especially, if you look it up in the New Testament, 00:21:55.98\00:21:57.65 the Greek word oinos, when you look up that word, 00:21:57.68\00:21:59.95 it actually can apply both to alcohol 00:21:59.98\00:22:04.79 or non-alcohol 00:22:04.82\00:22:07.46 or unfermented grape juice. 00:22:07.49\00:22:09.82 Alcohol is basically the fermentation of the grapes. 00:22:09.86\00:22:12.36 It's going through a rotting process 00:22:12.39\00:22:13.73 and eventually the alcohol content builds up 00:22:13.76\00:22:15.63 and hence it becomes 00:22:15.66\00:22:17.00 more of this poisonous type of substance. 00:22:17.03\00:22:18.73 But more so, grape juice, we know is that which is fresh. 00:22:18.77\00:22:21.90 Yeah. 00:22:21.94\00:22:23.27 Now the question is, which one did Jesus give 00:22:23.30\00:22:24.94 because the word can go in either direction. 00:22:24.97\00:22:26.44 It can either be alcohol 00:22:26.47\00:22:27.94 or it can also go in the other direction. 00:22:27.98\00:22:30.38 It can be grape juice. 00:22:30.41\00:22:31.98 I believe, it's very simple to find out 00:22:32.01\00:22:33.62 which one did Jesus provide. 00:22:33.65\00:22:34.98 Okay. 00:22:35.02\00:22:36.35 When we study the Bible carefully, 00:22:36.38\00:22:37.75 we will find that Jesus did not just come on the scene 00:22:37.79\00:22:41.76 amongst human beings when He was born through Mary. 00:22:41.79\00:22:44.89 Jesus was very interactive with humanity 00:22:44.93\00:22:47.83 before the birth. 00:22:47.86\00:22:49.96 The way we know that is when you read 1 Corinthians 10. 00:22:50.00\00:22:52.57 In 1 Corinthians 10:1-4, the Bible shows 00:22:52.60\00:22:56.27 that when the children of Israel were leaving Egypt, 00:22:56.30\00:22:58.54 it says, as they left Egypt, 00:22:58.57\00:22:59.91 you know they went through the Red Sea. 00:22:59.94\00:23:01.28 It says, eventually they were going and it says, 00:23:01.31\00:23:03.55 and there was a rock that followed them 00:23:03.58\00:23:06.41 and it says and that rock was Christ. 00:23:06.45\00:23:09.58 That's in 1 Corinthians 10:4. 00:23:09.62\00:23:11.85 So the rock that, that followed them, 00:23:11.89\00:23:14.29 it says that rock was none other than Jesus Christ. 00:23:14.32\00:23:16.89 So Jesus was interactive with the people of God 00:23:16.93\00:23:19.86 because Jesus did not begin His existence with Mary. 00:23:19.89\00:23:22.70 He preexisted that. 00:23:22.73\00:23:24.07 Now understanding that principle then, 00:23:24.10\00:23:26.53 that means that the same Jesus who was with His people 00:23:26.57\00:23:30.61 while they were on their journey 00:23:30.64\00:23:31.97 from even Egypt to Canaan land, 00:23:32.01\00:23:33.48 guiding and instructing and so on, 00:23:33.51\00:23:35.14 it's the same Jesus that was with Solomon 00:23:35.18\00:23:38.35 when Solomon was inspired to write wine is a mocker 00:23:38.38\00:23:41.68 and strong drink is raging. 00:23:41.72\00:23:43.32 Yeah. 00:23:43.35\00:23:44.69 All scriptures come by inspiration of God. 00:23:44.72\00:23:46.45 So as a result of that, 00:23:46.49\00:23:48.06 would God one minute say to Solomon, 00:23:48.09\00:23:51.23 tell everybody that wine is a mocker, 00:23:51.26\00:23:53.56 strong drink is raging, when you look at the redness, 00:23:53.60\00:23:55.66 don't look upon it, don't drink it, 00:23:55.70\00:23:57.07 don't do this, don't do that. 00:23:57.10\00:23:58.63 Would God give those instructions in one place 00:23:58.67\00:24:01.24 and then at a wedding, which by the way marriage 00:24:01.27\00:24:04.31 is a holy institutions that existed before sin 00:24:04.34\00:24:06.71 even touched this earth. 00:24:06.74\00:24:08.18 Would God at such a holy institution 00:24:08.21\00:24:10.71 now go ahead and literally give to the people 00:24:10.75\00:24:13.62 the very thing that He inspired others 00:24:13.65\00:24:15.72 to tell them was poisonous, I think not. 00:24:15.75\00:24:17.95 It makes no sense. 00:24:17.99\00:24:19.32 There is no variableness with God, 00:24:19.35\00:24:20.72 the Bible says in James 1:17. 00:24:20.76\00:24:23.49 So therefore I believe firmly that there is no way 00:24:23.53\00:24:26.56 anyone can truly say that Jesus provided alcohol. 00:24:26.59\00:24:30.37 However, in Isaiah 65, 00:24:30.40\00:24:33.27 the Bible does say something about wine. 00:24:33.30\00:24:34.70 Let's notice this one. 00:24:34.74\00:24:36.07 "Thus saith the Lord, 00:24:36.10\00:24:38.21 as the new wine is found in the cluster 00:24:38.24\00:24:41.08 and one saith, destroy it not for a blessing is in it: 00:24:41.11\00:24:45.01 so will I do for my servants sakes 00:24:45.05\00:24:47.95 that I may not destroy them all." 00:24:47.98\00:24:50.89 The Bible shows that there is a wine 00:24:50.92\00:24:53.56 that is definitely a mocker and is raging 00:24:53.59\00:24:56.16 and is deceptive and all these other things 00:24:56.19\00:24:58.26 that we read in Proverbs. 00:24:58.29\00:24:59.63 That's the alcohol, that's the fermented grape juice. 00:24:59.66\00:25:02.66 But in this case, this is the grape that's... 00:25:02.70\00:25:05.03 This is the juice that's coming out of the grape 00:25:05.07\00:25:06.57 while it was still in its cluster. 00:25:06.60\00:25:07.94 So this is dealing with the fresh grape juice. 00:25:07.97\00:25:09.50 Yeah. 00:25:09.54\00:25:10.87 And the Bible says that there is a blessing in it. 00:25:10.91\00:25:12.67 When Jesus came to the wedding, 00:25:12.71\00:25:14.04 we find no evidence that He wanted to condemn or curse. 00:25:14.08\00:25:17.15 He wanted to bless and He did. 00:25:17.18\00:25:19.51 And so we find that consistent with Bible teaching, 00:25:19.55\00:25:22.68 consistent with God's character, 00:25:22.72\00:25:24.65 He would have provided grape juice 00:25:24.69\00:25:26.62 in comparison to alcohol. 00:25:26.65\00:25:28.42 Another point that's very important is remember, 00:25:28.46\00:25:31.29 Jesus uses wine to also reference His blood. 00:25:31.33\00:25:36.00 Remember that the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 11 00:25:36.03\00:25:39.00 when Jesus, when the Bible talks about communion 00:25:39.03\00:25:41.70 and it talks about how when we drink, 00:25:41.74\00:25:43.94 the drink it was to be a representation of God's blood 00:25:43.97\00:25:47.38 or the blood of Christ that was spilled. 00:25:47.41\00:25:49.31 And so we find that the blood of Christ, 00:25:49.34\00:25:51.15 1 John 1:7 cleanses us from sin. 00:25:51.18\00:25:53.01 Yeah. 00:25:53.05\00:25:54.38 So we would dare not use something 00:25:54.42\00:25:55.75 that God associates with sin like alcohol 00:25:55.78\00:25:59.22 to suddenly say that this is representative 00:25:59.25\00:26:01.22 of the blood of Christ. 00:26:01.26\00:26:02.62 So the blood of Christ has a cleansing, 00:26:02.66\00:26:04.39 a purifying ability to it or a power to it 00:26:04.43\00:26:07.53 and therefore it is consistent that the grape juice 00:26:07.56\00:26:10.27 would have been that what Jesus provided 00:26:10.30\00:26:11.93 in comparison to, you know, 00:26:11.97\00:26:14.24 these alcoholic type of items that many people think. 00:26:14.27\00:26:17.51 Right. 00:26:17.54\00:26:18.87 In fact, when we really think about it, 00:26:18.91\00:26:20.28 if we carefully study the Bible, 00:26:20.31\00:26:22.01 you will find that the Bible records history 00:26:22.04\00:26:24.55 of individuals who partook of alcohol 00:26:24.58\00:26:26.51 and the detrimental things that took place thereafter. 00:26:26.55\00:26:28.95 You have Belshazzar in Daniel 5. 00:26:28.98\00:26:31.39 And Belshazzar, he was there, taking the vessels of God 00:26:31.42\00:26:34.99 and filling it with alcohol and then he was drinking it, 00:26:35.02\00:26:37.63 and it was on that same night of that festive party 00:26:37.66\00:26:39.89 while they were all drunk that the Bible says 00:26:39.93\00:26:41.96 Mene, Mene, Tekel, Parsin. 00:26:42.00\00:26:43.67 You have been weighed in the balances 00:26:43.70\00:26:45.33 and you have been found wanting 00:26:45.37\00:26:47.30 and his kingdom was gonna be went from him. 00:26:47.34\00:26:49.54 You also have the story in the Book of Leviticus 10 00:26:49.57\00:26:53.07 specifically verses 8-10, 00:26:53.11\00:26:54.98 and it talks about the children of the priest 00:26:55.01\00:26:58.05 that was supposed to be the servants of God, 00:26:58.08\00:27:00.38 but as a result of partaking of alcohol, 00:27:00.42\00:27:03.32 their minds became so debilitated 00:27:03.35\00:27:05.59 that they began to profane the very worship service of God 00:27:05.62\00:27:08.82 and they offered strange fire in comparison to God's fire 00:27:08.86\00:27:12.69 and they were consumed on that very day 00:27:12.73\00:27:15.30 in the sanctuary as a result of this horrible act. 00:27:15.33\00:27:18.90 Of course, we have Noah in Genesis 9:21-25. 00:27:18.93\00:27:23.47 And in that story we find also 00:27:23.51\00:27:25.57 that Noah was partaking of alcohol 00:27:25.61\00:27:27.81 and here it is this deplorable thing took place 00:27:27.84\00:27:30.08 amidst even his own children. 00:27:30.11\00:27:33.08 Absolutely powerful, brother. 00:27:33.11\00:27:35.08 And we want to encourage you to come again 00:27:35.12\00:27:38.59 and see what God is willing to teach us 00:27:38.62\00:27:42.62 if we are willing to learn and listen. 00:27:42.66\00:27:45.09 Thank you for watching TKS, a True Knowledge of Self. 00:27:45.13\00:27:48.13 And remember in Proverbs 2:6, it says, 00:27:48.16\00:27:50.37 "It is the Lord who gives wisdom 00:27:50.40\00:27:52.33 and out of His mouth comes knowledge and understanding." 00:27:52.37\00:27:55.17 God bless you. 00:27:55.20\00:27:56.71
