that experience as well,

impacted me very negatively

there were elements

in things that I was
learning that contradicted

the principles
of true education.

And so was that, you know,
when I went to school again

if I'm
consistently reading books

and hearing through
teachings and lectures

that I am the
result of a freak accident.

I'm the result of a big bang,

natural selection,
you know, evolution.

Than obviously that has
a very detrimental effect

upon the mind of a young person

because they are basically
learning at a very young age

that I don't have
a purpose in life.

There is none and
then it can cause me

to look to myself now to
try to figure out my purpose

not understanding
that when God creates

every human being
that we have a purpose.

That purpose is

So we were formed, we
were brought into this world

to give God glory and
that is our great purpose

but nevertheless we can manifest

that purpose in several ways.

There are different
occupations and things

but all the occupations
of life and all the decisions

we make in life should
become a stepping stone

I grew up without a father
or without a consistent father

a proper role model

legitimate male models

in my environment

it in school, you are not--

identifying with in a school

you start to identify and
want to be like that person

and essentially you
want to be above that person.

So that system oh, it
appears at least at this point

is almost designed

or geared towards disabling you

from really obtaining
that true knowledge yourself.

So there are true disadvantages
but we've established the point

disadvantages are no excuse

true knowledge itself.

Bible teaching a principle,

important principle

urban youth today

walk that individuals have.

of this, this limp now

but we didn't come out of

We watch something, we

So these languages,
these things that we learn

that came through the
influence of hip-hop culture

day we have to ask ourselves,

where did I get that from.

Because we try
to say it's natural

but it's not
natural it's learned

just like any other
behavior can be learned.

So therefore when we
consider what the Bible teaches

about it, when Daniel

companions and his people

were brought into captivity

interesting the first step

Nebuchadnezzar took with them.

It's found in Daniel

it says right there in verse 4

Nebuchadnezzar wanted to gather

the children
together so he could begin

his the education
process if you would.

You know, this is what he did.

It's found in Daniel 1:4,

it says "Children
in whom was no blemish,

to stand in the king's palace,

might teach the learning

and the tongue

There was an educational system

that Nebuchadnezzar
wanted to introduce

to the minds of
those Hebrew captives

and he wanted to do it
because he wanted to take away

from their minds

what they were
presently learning.

It was typical in
Hebrew culture that,

you know, Proverbs 22:6
"Train up a child in the way

he should go and when he is old,

he shall not depart from it."

And so it is
that these individuals

they had a knowledge of God,
they had a knowledge of truth,

they had an understanding
of even true education.

But Nebuchadnezzar
being used by the enemy

wanted to break that down
and this is one of the sources

we see in culture today

especially in hip-hop culture

and otherwise that
there is an education.

song where he talked about

"You must learn"

and he was trying to
introduce an education

to the mindsets of
those who were beholding him

so that by the
education they would come

to a higher
level of understanding

or what they would
call over standing.

Right. And they
referred to it as a science.

You know, and they are sciences

and its facts and
not theories, right.

So it's possible that a
person can receive education

but its false
education that causes us

not to come closer
to God but to realize

that we are moving
further away from Him.

And this is the great danger

one of the things

is the effect of education

through the life of Jesus.

You know, Jesus is an individual

who even various religions
have a great respect for Him.

If not anything else

He was a great
and wonder prophet

even though in Christianity
we see Him as God in the flesh.

He came down, He

but He veiled His
Godness in flesh, humanity.

Well, the reality is

that is an indicator
of the kind of education

and I want us to look at
this because this is the,

this is the principle behind
this idea of true education.

We remember that we
read in John 17:3 that

"This is life eternal,

God, and Jesus Christ,

So know His education,
true is dealing with the right

and understanding God.

understand God and Christ

effects of this in the life

"And Jesus increased
in wisdom" or education

"and stature,

and in favor with God and man."

So we find that the education

that Jesus received from a youth

because He was still
a youth at this time.

He was only 12-years-old.

So Jesus received an
education from His youth

that allowed Him to
grow or to develop in wisdom

Now this becomes
very powerful to me

because when my
wife and I as an example,

when my wife and I got married,

I met my wife
through a Bible study.

You know, when I
heard this message

and I started to
study the Bible I said,

man, I got to
tell this everybody

and a good
friend of mine told me,

hey, I'm gonna bring
sister over to the Bible study

and that young lady
happened to be my wife.

And here it is that, you
know, we get to know each other,

we court, we get married
and our plan was two years

we were going to
wait before any children.

That was the
plan. That's the plan.

And unfortunately two
years turn to the two months

and then in two
months she came to me

individuals who will buy

multimillion dollar
homes and its only one person

that lives in it but

bit here a little bit there

Why? Because I can.
That's the pride of life.

and living in accordance to it.

that we are discussing here

vital and if you choose

and it challenges, you
know, to follow these things
