Hello, my name is Dwayne Lemon. And I'm Lance Wilbur. 00:00:31.76\00:00:34.86 And we'd like to welcome you to TKS, 00:00:34.90\00:00:37.30 a True Knowledge of Self, 00:00:37.33\00:00:39.20 where we get to know ourselves from a Biblical perspective. 00:00:39.23\00:00:42.77 We wanna welcome you all to our session today 00:00:42.80\00:00:44.64 where we're gonna be picking back up 00:00:44.67\00:00:46.47 from where we left off in our last session 00:00:46.51\00:00:48.71 where we were talking about 00:00:48.74\00:00:50.25 what are these ideas about knowledge of self, 00:00:50.28\00:00:53.31 true knowledge of self. 00:00:53.35\00:00:54.68 What does this mean? How do they gel together? 00:00:54.72\00:00:57.09 Do they gel together? 00:00:57.12\00:00:58.52 And we've been going over this 00:00:58.55\00:00:59.89 and we've been looking at it from the Word of God. 00:00:59.92\00:01:01.49 And we've seen amazing things from His Word. 00:01:01.52\00:01:04.29 We were able to discover that according to Ezekiel 28 00:01:04.33\00:01:09.13 that God created a being by the name of Lucifer, 00:01:09.16\00:01:12.43 which meant light bearer. 00:01:12.47\00:01:14.00 And Lucifer as a result of looking upon himself 00:01:14.04\00:01:17.51 and exalting himself, 00:01:17.54\00:01:19.71 he found himself at odds or at variance with God. 00:01:19.74\00:01:22.98 He became God's enemy 00:01:23.01\00:01:24.35 and that's how he earned the name Satan. 00:01:24.38\00:01:27.62 And then he began to slander God 00:01:27.65\00:01:29.15 and that's how he earned the name Devil. 00:01:29.18\00:01:31.15 And we saw that it was through self-exaltation. 00:01:31.19\00:01:34.16 Lucifer was not content 00:01:34.19\00:01:35.96 with the gifts and the abilities that he had, 00:01:35.99\00:01:37.59 but he wanted to go ahead 00:01:37.63\00:01:38.96 and try to exalt himself, 00:01:38.99\00:01:40.86 not even as God but above God, the Bible says. 00:01:40.90\00:01:44.07 And we were reviewing that in Isaiah 14:12-14 00:01:44.10\00:01:48.37 and we saw incredible things from the Word of God. 00:01:48.40\00:01:51.64 And Brother Lance and I were going through these things 00:01:51.67\00:01:54.18 just to see the mindset of Satan 00:01:54.21\00:01:57.55 and then seeing how this mindset was transitioning 00:01:57.58\00:02:00.52 into the minds of people 00:02:00.55\00:02:02.12 especially through this concept of knowledge of self, 00:02:02.15\00:02:05.39 where individuals now are thinking that 00:02:05.42\00:02:07.56 they are Gods, 00:02:07.59\00:02:08.92 and that they are above the things that are of God. 00:02:08.96\00:02:11.63 And this is where we left off 00:02:11.66\00:02:12.99 and we wanna pick right back up on that again. 00:02:13.03\00:02:15.00 Lance, we wanna, of course, be thankful unto the Lord 00:02:15.03\00:02:17.53 for being back for another session. 00:02:17.57\00:02:18.90 Indeed. 00:02:18.93\00:02:20.27 And we're gonna pretty much pick right back up 00:02:20.30\00:02:21.64 where we left off, 00:02:21.67\00:02:23.00 you were explaining, very powerfully, 00:02:23.04\00:02:24.37 how we were looking at Ezekiel 28: 14-17, 00:02:24.41\00:02:27.44 and Isaiah 14:12-14, 00:02:27.48\00:02:29.58 and we were looking at the Bible 00:02:29.61\00:02:31.05 seeing this characteristic of Lucifer 00:02:31.08\00:02:33.28 who became Satan and the Devil. 00:02:33.31\00:02:36.28 And now we were kind of transitioning 00:02:36.32\00:02:38.32 what we saw his mindset 00:02:38.35\00:02:39.92 but his mindset started to become manifested 00:02:39.95\00:02:42.09 into the minds and hearts of people. 00:02:42.12\00:02:44.03 So I wanted you to go ahead and pick right back up on that 00:02:44.06\00:02:46.26 so we can build in this session on that very thought. 00:02:46.29\00:02:48.10 Okay. 00:02:48.13\00:02:49.50 There is a verse that we found that kind of highlights this. 00:02:49.53\00:02:52.93 It's all throughout the Bible. 00:02:52.97\00:02:54.30 The Bible is constantly 00:02:54.34\00:02:55.67 and that's another thing that spoke to me 00:02:55.70\00:02:57.67 about the reality and the truth of the Bible 00:02:57.71\00:02:59.91 is that it doesn't just highlight the good things 00:02:59.94\00:03:04.15 about the characters that are found in it. 00:03:04.18\00:03:06.28 It highlights the wickedness of man as well, 00:03:06.31\00:03:09.12 and it shows the contrast 00:03:09.15\00:03:11.09 between righteousness and wickedness 00:03:11.12\00:03:13.39 and that each man, no matter how great, 00:03:13.42\00:03:15.82 has the potential of success or failure in God's sight. 00:03:15.86\00:03:18.86 That's right. 00:03:18.89\00:03:20.23 So Isaiah 47:10, and I'm gonna read that for us. 00:03:20.26\00:03:24.63 In Isaiah 47:10 and I think it kind of summarizes 00:03:24.67\00:03:28.67 what we're dealing with, 00:03:28.70\00:03:30.04 the idea that this corruption 00:03:30.07\00:03:33.54 that began in the heart of Lucifer 00:03:33.58\00:03:35.04 that we'll talk about in future programs 00:03:35.08\00:03:37.71 that transferred to humanity in the very beginning 00:03:37.75\00:03:42.75 now is being perpetuated throughout humanity 00:03:42.78\00:03:45.89 and that same self-exaltation can be found there. 00:03:45.92\00:03:48.62 So I'm gonna read now Isaiah 47:10, it says, 00:03:48.66\00:03:53.83 "For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness. 00:03:53.86\00:03:57.57 Thou hast said, none seeth me. 00:03:57.60\00:04:00.40 Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee. 00:04:00.44\00:04:03.87 And thou hast said in thine heart, I am, 00:04:03.91\00:04:07.68 and none else beside me." 00:04:07.71\00:04:10.85 Now we have individuals with a certain wisdom 00:04:10.88\00:04:13.62 and a certain knowledge 00:04:13.65\00:04:14.98 but that certain wisdom and knowledge perverted them. 00:04:15.02\00:04:17.75 So just because you call it wisdom, 00:04:17.79\00:04:19.69 or just because you call it knowledge, 00:04:19.72\00:04:21.19 or just because you call it understanding or overstanding, 00:04:21.22\00:04:24.16 it doesn't mean that it comes from God. 00:04:24.19\00:04:25.63 That's right. 00:04:25.66\00:04:27.00 And I think that's the crucial thing, 00:04:27.03\00:04:28.36 the fundamental thing that we have to understand. 00:04:28.40\00:04:29.73 Just because you're wise, 00:04:29.76\00:04:31.10 it doesn't mean you're godly or righteous. 00:04:31.13\00:04:33.13 Well, a good example of that 00:04:33.17\00:04:34.57 is when you go right back to Ezekiel 28. 00:04:34.60\00:04:36.44 Yeah. 00:04:36.47\00:04:37.81 Because Ezekiel 28 acknowledges the fact that Satan, 00:04:37.84\00:04:40.81 he never ever lost wisdom. 00:04:40.84\00:04:42.81 Right. 00:04:42.84\00:04:44.18 It says that his wisdom became corrupted. 00:04:44.21\00:04:46.85 So he still had wisdom but now the gift that came from God, 00:04:46.88\00:04:50.22 which was designed to give glory to God, 00:04:50.25\00:04:52.45 that gift now was corrupted because it was... 00:04:52.49\00:04:55.19 All the focus of the gifts were not designed 00:04:55.22\00:04:57.46 to give glory to God anymore. 00:04:57.49\00:04:58.83 Those focus or those gifts was now 00:04:58.86\00:05:00.20 to bring glory to oneself. 00:05:00.23\00:05:01.56 So we see that when an individual 00:05:01.60\00:05:03.13 is gifted with skill, talent, or ability, wisdom, 00:05:03.16\00:05:06.10 whatever it maybe, 00:05:06.13\00:05:07.47 when an individual no longer uses that skill, talent, 00:05:07.50\00:05:10.31 or ability to help people know of the creator, 00:05:10.34\00:05:13.34 to help them know this is the one 00:05:13.38\00:05:14.88 who gave these things to me... 00:05:14.91\00:05:16.24 To direct them to God, not themselves. 00:05:16.28\00:05:17.61 That's right. 00:05:17.65\00:05:18.98 Once they fall into that situation, 00:05:19.01\00:05:20.35 it becomes another corruption of wisdom as well. 00:05:20.38\00:05:23.25 And this is exactly what we're seeing 00:05:23.28\00:05:24.65 taking place through the concepts 00:05:24.69\00:05:26.02 of knowledge of self. 00:05:26.05\00:05:27.39 Right. 00:05:27.42\00:05:28.76 And it also, you know, 00:05:28.79\00:05:30.13 summarizes the fact that individual, 00:05:30.16\00:05:31.49 the humanity here, 00:05:31.53\00:05:32.86 God's people have set in their hearts, 00:05:32.89\00:05:34.96 I am and there is none else beside me. 00:05:35.00\00:05:36.93 Well, we know that, 00:05:36.97\00:05:38.30 that's what God says about Himself, 00:05:38.33\00:05:39.67 "I'm and there is none like me." 00:05:39.70\00:05:41.04 Right? That's right. 00:05:41.07\00:05:42.40 But now we have an individuals saying, 00:05:42.44\00:05:43.77 "I am and there is none beside me." 00:05:43.81\00:05:45.57 That's right. 00:05:45.61\00:05:46.94 And the idea of a created being 00:05:46.98\00:05:50.35 claiming the prerogatives of God 00:05:50.38\00:05:53.45 is the highest offense, if you will, 00:05:53.48\00:05:57.89 that scripture outlines. 00:05:57.92\00:05:59.25 That's right. 00:05:59.29\00:06:00.62 The idea that you are God, or can be God, 00:06:00.66\00:06:02.69 or greater than the God of creation. 00:06:02.72\00:06:05.83 That's right. 00:06:05.86\00:06:07.20 So there is also many cases in the Bible 00:06:07.23\00:06:10.13 where you have individuals that are highlighted 00:06:10.17\00:06:11.93 that express this self-exaltation. 00:06:11.97\00:06:15.24 So in my mind I think of Nebuchadnezzar, 00:06:15.27\00:06:18.24 and we'll be talking about him in future programs. 00:06:18.27\00:06:21.14 But Nebuchadnezzar was an individual 00:06:21.18\00:06:23.21 who eventually got to the point where he renovated, 00:06:23.24\00:06:26.45 or resurrected Babylon, it became Neo-Babylon, 00:06:26.48\00:06:31.19 and when we say "Babylon" 00:06:31.22\00:06:32.69 all kinds of images pop into people's minds. 00:06:32.72\00:06:35.06 You know, Babylon is a town that still exists 00:06:35.09\00:06:36.96 but at this point under Nebuchadnezzar's reign 00:06:36.99\00:06:39.29 and that become the most prominent, 00:06:39.33\00:06:41.26 the greatest super power on the planet, 00:06:41.30\00:06:43.77 and the most beautiful city, capital city, if you will, 00:06:43.80\00:06:46.37 that exists and one of the wonders of the world, 00:06:46.40\00:06:48.00 the gates, the walls. 00:06:48.04\00:06:49.37 In fact, museums are still fields the greatest museums 00:06:49.40\00:06:52.94 have artifacts, and some of these gates, 00:06:52.97\00:06:55.91 and some of these reconstructions from Babylon. 00:06:55.94\00:06:58.08 That's right. 00:06:58.11\00:06:59.45 And one day the Bible talks about 00:06:59.48\00:07:00.82 and we'll be highlighting that, 00:07:00.85\00:07:02.18 but it talks about how he went out one day 00:07:02.22\00:07:03.89 and looked, you know, perhaps on a balcony 00:07:03.92\00:07:06.52 and oversaw the city and said, 00:07:06.55\00:07:09.02 "Is this not great Babylon that I have built?" 00:07:09.06\00:07:12.06 Now this is after he learned that God is the one 00:07:12.09\00:07:14.86 who removes kings and sets up kings. 00:07:14.90\00:07:17.73 And God is the one who gives wisdom to the wise 00:07:17.77\00:07:19.73 and all these things that we'll be talking about, 00:07:19.77\00:07:21.50 but he said I, and he fell in to his great crisis. 00:07:21.54\00:07:26.47 That's right. 00:07:26.51\00:07:27.84 Another individual King Herod, after the death of Christ, 00:07:27.88\00:07:32.28 these individuals became kind of, they felt empowered, 00:07:32.31\00:07:36.75 they felt, you know, a hardening against the truth, 00:07:36.79\00:07:41.56 and now that they were able to kill Christ, well, 00:07:41.59\00:07:43.43 now they're gonna go out and kill His followers. 00:07:43.46\00:07:45.83 And so he arrested the Apostle Peter, 00:07:45.86\00:07:48.43 and the Apostle James, 00:07:48.46\00:07:49.90 he executes James, cuts his head off 00:07:49.93\00:07:52.70 and then he orders the execution of Peter. 00:07:52.73\00:07:55.30 And he goes out in between kind of in this transition, 00:07:55.34\00:07:58.34 the people are gathered, and he goes out 00:07:58.37\00:07:59.94 and gives this great speech or whatever you wanna call it, 00:07:59.97\00:08:02.44 he preaches a sermon or what have you. 00:08:02.48\00:08:04.48 And the people said this was the voice of God 00:08:04.51\00:08:06.61 and not of a man. 00:08:06.65\00:08:08.18 And it says that he gave not God the glory, 00:08:08.22\00:08:11.35 he accepted that worship, if you will, 00:08:11.39\00:08:13.56 and accepted the prerogatives of God upon himself 00:08:13.59\00:08:15.72 and he dropped dead, right on the spot. 00:08:15.76\00:08:17.69 It says the angel of the Lord came and he dropped dead. 00:08:17.73\00:08:20.06 So we have a case, every single time in scripture, 00:08:20.10\00:08:23.97 where somebody catches that disease, if you will, 00:08:24.00\00:08:26.40 that mindset or accepts the ideology 00:08:26.43\00:08:28.70 or the philosophy that Lucifer had 00:08:28.74\00:08:31.04 that "I am and there is none else besides me" 00:08:31.07\00:08:35.04 that it leads to destruction every time. 00:08:35.08\00:08:37.48 So, I'm gonna ask you now as we move forward, 00:08:37.51\00:08:41.28 we talked about some of the negativity 00:08:41.32\00:08:43.32 and I'm gonna, you know, transition, 00:08:43.35\00:08:44.95 I'll highlight another verse or two 00:08:44.99\00:08:47.09 but I want you after these to kind of share 00:08:47.12\00:08:49.79 what the Bible says is the true knowledge of self. 00:08:49.82\00:08:52.03 That's right. 00:08:52.06\00:08:53.40 In other words, we're not just gonna spend time 00:08:53.43\00:08:54.76 highlighting the error and highlighting the error. 00:08:54.80\00:08:56.73 The Bible has something to say about the true, 00:08:56.77\00:08:58.20 it doesn't just point fingers 00:08:58.23\00:09:00.10 and then not provide a way to escape. 00:09:00.14\00:09:02.84 So we'll talk about that. 00:09:02.87\00:09:04.21 I wanna now transition kind of to the Book of Proverbs 00:09:04.24\00:09:06.88 and highlight a couple of verses 00:09:06.91\00:09:08.24 or at least one verse there 00:09:08.28\00:09:09.61 and then again I'll ask you that question. 00:09:09.64\00:09:12.48 No problem. 00:09:12.51\00:09:13.85 So I wanna turn now to Proverbs 16, 00:09:13.88\00:09:16.72 and we're gonna look at verse 25. 00:09:16.75\00:09:19.32 Proverbs 16:25 00:09:19.35\00:09:23.22 and I'm gonna read that for us here. 00:09:23.26\00:09:26.80 And in Proverbs 16:25 again it speaks to this subject, 00:09:26.83\00:09:32.20 I think most profoundly. 00:09:32.23\00:09:34.34 It says, "There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, 00:09:34.37\00:09:39.07 but the end thereof are the ways of death." 00:09:39.11\00:09:42.64 So what that tells me is just because something is logical 00:09:42.68\00:09:46.85 or just because something is apparently factual. 00:09:46.88\00:09:50.95 Some of the ways that you would leverage yourself 00:09:50.99\00:09:54.52 against Christians or against the individuals 00:09:54.56\00:09:57.13 the deaf, dumb, and blind as, you know, 00:09:57.16\00:09:59.49 associated with these religious aspects, 00:09:59.53\00:10:01.66 and other side of the hip-hop culture. 00:10:01.70\00:10:03.40 You would leverage yourself against people 00:10:03.43\00:10:05.63 by just spitting out facts, random facts. 00:10:05.67\00:10:08.40 You know, the sun is 99 million miles away 00:10:08.44\00:10:12.44 and, you know, all of these random facts. 00:10:12.47\00:10:15.81 You know, the body is two-thirds water, you know, 00:10:15.84\00:10:18.61 some people would say three quarters. 00:10:18.65\00:10:19.98 There is all different random facts. 00:10:20.02\00:10:21.35 Speaking several different languages. 00:10:21.38\00:10:22.72 Yeah. 00:10:22.75\00:10:24.09 You would start breaking down the Greek and the Hebrew. 00:10:24.12\00:10:25.85 And you would start just 00:10:25.89\00:10:27.22 spitting out these random facts, 00:10:27.26\00:10:28.92 and you would try to overwhelm people 00:10:28.96\00:10:30.63 with random knowledge. 00:10:30.66\00:10:31.99 So the people go, wow. Wow. Yeah. 00:10:32.03\00:10:33.90 So this brother knows these things. 00:10:33.93\00:10:35.40 Yeah. He must know the rest. 00:10:35.43\00:10:37.60 And then you would use that kind of as hook 00:10:37.63\00:10:40.17 and then once you get people kind of enamored 00:10:40.20\00:10:41.74 with your knowledge, you would then now say, 00:10:41.77\00:10:44.97 now let me tell you the real reason 00:10:45.01\00:10:47.14 why we're talking here. 00:10:47.18\00:10:49.24 And that was attractive and probably still is. 00:10:49.28\00:10:53.92 And some of the things were factual, 00:10:53.95\00:10:55.75 some of the things were true, 00:10:55.78\00:10:57.12 and some of things were logical, 00:10:57.15\00:10:58.65 but some of the things were absolutely wrong, 00:10:58.69\00:11:00.86 you know, facts and figures. 00:11:00.89\00:11:02.66 So just because it's logical, just because it seems right, 00:11:02.69\00:11:05.79 doesn't mean it is right. 00:11:05.83\00:11:07.56 And there has to be a standard that says this is right, 00:11:07.60\00:11:09.83 and this is wrong, it can't just be a human being. 00:11:09.86\00:11:11.20 That's correct. 00:11:11.23\00:11:12.57 As a human being you can't, you know, Bible says, 00:11:12.60\00:11:14.40 "Put not your trust in man or in princess." 00:11:14.44\00:11:16.60 You can't trust human beings that we'll be looking at 00:11:16.64\00:11:21.24 when we go to this next verse in Jeremiah. 00:11:21.28\00:11:23.65 Human beings have a problem. 00:11:23.68\00:11:25.58 You know, I'm gonna be honest with you. 00:11:25.61\00:11:27.02 Sometimes, you know, I meet people and we talk 00:11:27.05\00:11:30.49 and not everything is always connected 00:11:30.52\00:11:31.85 to the hip-hop culture 00:11:31.89\00:11:33.22 'cause this issue of sin and confusion 00:11:33.25\00:11:35.92 and everything has affected all cultures. 00:11:35.96\00:11:37.33 It doesn't matter whether it's hip-hop or not. 00:11:37.36\00:11:39.69 Nevertheless, because we come from this background 00:11:39.73\00:11:41.90 with the hip-hop culture, we stress it. 00:11:41.93\00:11:44.13 Nevertheless, here is what I'm thinking. 00:11:44.17\00:11:46.10 You meet people that 00:11:46.13\00:11:47.67 when they do not have anything 00:11:47.70\00:11:50.34 that is an absolute truth to help guide them 00:11:50.37\00:11:52.74 in the day-to-day decisions of life, 00:11:52.77\00:11:54.51 then what happens is we have a natural tendency 00:11:54.54\00:11:56.24 to follow our own heart of what we think is right. 00:11:56.28\00:11:59.28 And I remember, I spoke with someone about that. 00:11:59.31\00:12:02.22 You know, they even use God, "They said God know my heart. 00:12:02.25\00:12:04.72 God knows my heart." 00:12:04.75\00:12:06.09 And I said, "You know what, you're right, 00:12:06.12\00:12:07.46 God does know your heart. 00:12:07.49\00:12:08.82 And God knows your heart so well, He wrote about it." 00:12:08.86\00:12:10.19 But before I even took them to the same text 00:12:10.23\00:12:11.69 you've taken us to in Jeremiah 17, 00:12:11.73\00:12:13.50 I asked them a question 00:12:13.53\00:12:14.86 because I knew that once we go to Jeremiah 17, 00:12:14.90\00:12:16.93 I really want this thing to hit them forcefully. 00:12:16.97\00:12:19.47 What I did was I said, "Let me ask you something. 00:12:19.50\00:12:21.34 If you're just one day at home relaxing, 00:12:21.37\00:12:24.57 and enjoying your day, and then somebody rings your door bell, 00:12:24.61\00:12:27.28 and when they ring your door bell 00:12:27.31\00:12:28.64 they ask if they can come in your house, 00:12:28.68\00:12:30.15 and they said, hello. 00:12:30.18\00:12:31.51 But before they wanted to come in your house they say this, 00:12:31.55\00:12:34.48 "Hello, I'm deceitful above all things 00:12:34.52\00:12:39.05 and I'm a desperately wicked person. 00:12:39.09\00:12:41.26 Can I please come in your house?" 00:12:41.29\00:12:42.62 Right. 00:12:42.66\00:12:43.99 And then I asked them, "Would you let that person in?" 00:12:44.03\00:12:45.36 And they look at me like I'm crazy. 00:12:45.39\00:12:46.73 Of course, not. 00:12:46.76\00:12:48.10 I said, "What if they said, hi, 00:12:48.13\00:12:50.07 I'm deceitful and desperately wicked, 00:12:50.10\00:12:53.07 will you trust me? 00:12:53.10\00:12:54.44 Right. Would you trust that person?" 00:12:54.47\00:12:56.00 No. Answer is absolutely not. 00:12:56.04\00:12:58.21 I said, okay. 00:12:58.24\00:12:59.57 But, yet you're saying that when you go about the decisions 00:12:59.61\00:13:01.44 that you make day-by-day in life, 00:13:01.48\00:13:03.45 you said that you follow your heart, 00:13:03.48\00:13:04.81 you follow your natural inclinations. 00:13:04.85\00:13:06.35 Well, here is what the Book of Jeremiah 17 says. 00:13:06.38\00:13:08.88 So why don't you turn there now 'cause I believe that this is 00:13:08.92\00:13:11.22 what's gonna really help bring this point out 00:13:11.25\00:13:13.76 because clearly a person, if someone admitted, 00:13:13.79\00:13:17.16 I'm deceitful above all things and desperately wicked, 00:13:17.19\00:13:19.66 will you please trust me? 00:13:19.69\00:13:21.13 Any thinking person is gonna say, "No way. 00:13:21.16\00:13:23.67 It's not gonna happen." 00:13:23.70\00:13:25.03 But nevertheless, look at what the Bible says 00:13:25.07\00:13:26.70 about the human heart. 00:13:26.74\00:13:29.70 Absolutely, Jeremiah 17:9 and we're gonna read that 00:13:29.74\00:13:33.64 and see what the Bible says. 00:13:33.68\00:13:35.54 It says, "The heart is deceitful above all things 00:13:35.58\00:13:40.72 and desperately wicked, who can know it?" 00:13:40.75\00:13:44.35 And it's a rhetorical question 00:13:44.39\00:13:45.72 because God answers it later on. 00:13:45.75\00:13:47.09 He says, "I, the Lord, search the heart. 00:13:47.12\00:13:49.69 I know it." 00:13:49.72\00:13:51.06 That's right. So we cannot even imagine. 00:13:51.09\00:13:54.60 We look at the news, you know, the clips and the headlines. 00:13:54.63\00:13:58.93 And, you know, you click on a headline 00:13:58.97\00:14:01.47 and you read the story 00:14:01.50\00:14:02.90 and you can imagine in some cases, 00:14:02.94\00:14:04.81 I can imagine some of things that I read about in the news. 00:14:04.84\00:14:07.84 As this person did that, that person did this, 00:14:07.88\00:14:09.91 and we don't wanna highlight all those things. 00:14:09.94\00:14:11.65 But nevertheless, 00:14:11.68\00:14:13.01 there's things that go on in our world, 00:14:13.05\00:14:15.52 in our society, 00:14:15.55\00:14:16.89 there's documentaries out there, 00:14:16.92\00:14:18.25 there's things, this things that we don't even consider 00:14:18.29\00:14:20.56 that are happening in our cities, 00:14:20.59\00:14:22.46 under our noses, all around us, 00:14:22.49\00:14:24.33 in other countries that would shock us. 00:14:24.36\00:14:27.66 You know, it would completely shock us. 00:14:27.70\00:14:29.50 And we think how far can depravity, 00:14:29.53\00:14:34.64 how far can that moral decay go? 00:14:34.67\00:14:36.87 How able is the human mind to become corrupted? 00:14:36.91\00:14:40.41 And that root corruption is that self-exaltation. 00:14:40.44\00:14:43.45 And as you mentioned, I just wanna highlight, 00:14:43.48\00:14:46.61 you know, 'cause we're talking, 00:14:46.65\00:14:47.98 we're focusing on hip-hop culture, 00:14:48.02\00:14:50.39 again because that's where we came from. 00:14:50.42\00:14:53.25 But every single culture, as you said, 00:14:53.29\00:14:55.59 is infected with the disease. 00:14:55.62\00:14:57.23 That's right. 00:14:57.26\00:14:58.59 Because, you know, even if we look at the education side 00:14:58.63\00:15:00.76 and we'll be talking about that, 00:15:00.80\00:15:02.13 and the philosophical side, 00:15:02.16\00:15:03.50 and we look at, you know, 00:15:03.53\00:15:04.87 Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Alexander the Great. 00:15:04.90\00:15:07.24 And you look at the lineage of that Hellenistic, you know, 00:15:07.27\00:15:10.11 Greco-Roman philosophy, 00:15:10.14\00:15:11.81 or you look at the Egyptian culture 00:15:11.84\00:15:13.17 and that stream of philosophy, 00:15:13.21\00:15:15.24 and even the Babylonian culture and that stream of philosophy, 00:15:15.28\00:15:18.01 and every other culture has this concept 00:15:18.05\00:15:21.22 and this idea that "I can obtain enough knowledge, 00:15:21.25\00:15:25.92 and enough information, 00:15:25.95\00:15:27.46 and apply that knowledge through wisdom 00:15:27.49\00:15:31.09 to the point where I don't need a God." 00:15:31.13\00:15:32.46 That's right. 00:15:32.49\00:15:33.83 "I don't need a power greater than myself 00:15:33.86\00:15:35.36 because there is no power greater than myself." 00:15:35.40\00:15:37.07 That's right. 00:15:37.10\00:15:38.43 And we see that everywhere 00:15:38.47\00:15:39.80 and now we see it even ingrained in little kids, 00:15:39.83\00:15:41.30 little kids are naturally inclined 00:15:41.34\00:15:44.01 to please themselves and not others. 00:15:44.04\00:15:46.88 That's right. 00:15:46.91\00:15:48.24 So it's not just relegated to hip-hop culture 00:15:48.28\00:15:50.98 but it's highlighted, profoundly in hip-hop culture, 00:15:51.01\00:15:54.68 and hip-hop culture is everywhere. 00:15:54.72\00:15:57.39 That's right. It's everywhere. 00:15:57.42\00:15:59.82 Any commercial corporate world, 00:15:59.85\00:16:03.22 everybody is tapping into this popular aspect, 00:16:03.26\00:16:06.83 the most popular aspect of our culture right now. 00:16:06.86\00:16:08.90 It's in everything, in sports, in politics, it's globally. 00:16:08.93\00:16:12.70 Even back in the '90s, 00:16:12.73\00:16:14.40 my producer and my DJ, his friend, 00:16:14.44\00:16:17.71 his close friend was an individual 00:16:17.74\00:16:19.91 who passed away the X-Ecutioners, Roc Raida. 00:16:19.94\00:16:24.91 He was doing shows in Iran, you know, back in the '90s. 00:16:24.95\00:16:29.72 Hip-hop shows, a DJ not just a DJ 00:16:29.75\00:16:32.75 doing turntables is pertinent scratching 00:16:32.79\00:16:35.16 in Iran... 00:16:35.19\00:16:36.52 That's right. 00:16:36.56\00:16:37.89 I remember, this goes way by, this is in the '90s 00:16:37.93\00:16:40.56 and I went to a club 00:16:40.60\00:16:41.93 it was called the Palladium in Manhattan 00:16:41.96\00:16:43.70 and we saw these guys dancing and, 00:16:43.73\00:16:45.73 you know, dance is always going, 00:16:45.77\00:16:47.10 and they size each other up. 00:16:47.14\00:16:48.47 You know, they kind of look at the other guy just to say, 00:16:48.50\00:16:50.04 okay, 'cause I'mma battle him. 00:16:50.07\00:16:51.41 And when we saw these guys and they had dreadlocks, 00:16:51.44\00:16:53.21 so naturally we said, okay, 00:16:53.24\00:16:54.58 they're probably Rastafarians or something 00:16:54.61\00:16:56.54 and they were just dancing on the floor. 00:16:56.58\00:16:58.41 But in the clubs you can't always see the people's face 00:16:58.45\00:17:00.88 but you can see the images and so on. 00:17:00.92\00:17:02.55 So I'm seeing these dreadlocks, I'm seeing these guys dance 00:17:02.58\00:17:04.92 and they're moving with incredible rhythm, 00:17:04.95\00:17:06.55 and I'm watching them dance, 00:17:06.59\00:17:08.02 and I'm thinking these guys are pretty good. 00:17:08.06\00:17:09.89 Later on, when the lights come on in the club, 00:17:09.92\00:17:13.09 all of these guys who were dancing with the dreadlocks 00:17:13.13\00:17:15.96 they were all from Japan, they were all Japanese. 00:17:16.00\00:17:20.10 And I remember, looking at them and I said... 00:17:20.14\00:17:22.14 They could barely speak English very well but nevertheless 00:17:22.17\00:17:24.97 they were saying, "Oh, yeah, we're from Japan." 00:17:25.01\00:17:26.57 And I said, "There is hip-hop in Japan?" 00:17:26.61\00:17:29.28 'Cause, you know, this, again, this is like 1989, 1990. 00:17:29.31\00:17:31.91 And I said, "There is hip-hop in Japan? 00:17:31.95\00:17:33.28 And they were like. 00:17:33.31\00:17:34.65 "Oh, yeah, we have clubs, everything." 00:17:34.68\00:17:36.02 And that was kind of like my first time opening up, 00:17:36.05\00:17:38.05 realizing hip-hop is really penetrating the world, 00:17:38.09\00:17:41.59 it's not just something that's in little America, 00:17:41.62\00:17:44.09 it's all over the place. 00:17:44.13\00:17:45.59 So, you know, they called it in the '80s, 00:17:45.63\00:17:47.06 they called it a fab, 00:17:47.10\00:17:48.43 but now it's the predominant culture. 00:17:48.46\00:17:50.17 So, you know, this is why we're gonna be harping on it 00:17:50.20\00:17:52.70 to some degree. 00:17:52.73\00:17:54.07 But I wanna now again ask you the question, 00:17:54.10\00:17:55.87 I asked you earlier, 00:17:55.90\00:17:57.24 but we talked about the problems, 00:17:57.27\00:17:59.44 we talked about how the Bible exposes 00:17:59.47\00:18:01.44 this false knowledge of self. 00:18:01.48\00:18:03.65 What does the Bible say about the true knowledge of self, 00:18:03.68\00:18:06.01 does the Bible say anything? 00:18:06.05\00:18:07.38 Well, you know, it's interesting. 00:18:07.42\00:18:08.75 When you think about true knowledge of self, right? 00:18:08.78\00:18:11.69 We're still talking about ourselves 00:18:11.72\00:18:13.69 but instead of having a false knowledge, 00:18:13.72\00:18:15.72 we now wanna have a true knowledge, 00:18:15.76\00:18:17.09 we wanna have a right understanding 00:18:17.13\00:18:18.46 of who am I? 00:18:18.49\00:18:19.83 Where is my position? Where do I fit? 00:18:19.86\00:18:21.70 The Bible speaks in marvelous language 00:18:21.73\00:18:25.73 about the idea of knowledge 00:18:25.77\00:18:27.30 and being able to understand various things, 00:18:27.34\00:18:30.21 but the ultimate knowledge 00:18:30.24\00:18:32.01 that God wants to impart to men, 00:18:32.04\00:18:34.04 if I had to single it out in one verse, 00:18:34.08\00:18:35.84 I would take everyone to John 17:3. 00:18:35.88\00:18:39.11 In John 17:3 it says, it's so clearly 00:18:39.15\00:18:43.28 that I don't believe anyone can miss it, 00:18:43.32\00:18:44.72 and this is the purpose of knowledge. 00:18:44.75\00:18:47.06 It says, "And this is life eternal, 00:18:47.09\00:18:52.39 that they might know that's knowledge, 00:18:52.43\00:18:54.96 they might know, " it says, "and this is life eternal, 00:18:55.00\00:18:59.33 that they might know thee the only true God, 00:18:59.37\00:19:03.04 and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent." 00:19:03.07\00:19:06.41 All knowledge, all true education 00:19:06.44\00:19:10.11 is designed to bring us to an understanding 00:19:10.15\00:19:12.61 of God and Jesus Christ whom He has sent. 00:19:12.65\00:19:17.52 This is the key focus of knowledge 00:19:17.55\00:19:20.06 and you find that when Israel was taught knowledge, 00:19:20.09\00:19:22.22 even when they would learn things like agriculture. 00:19:22.26\00:19:24.49 Agriculture was always designed to bring people back to God 00:19:24.53\00:19:27.06 so while they could understand things about nature, 00:19:27.10\00:19:29.53 they could also understand things about God. 00:19:29.56\00:19:31.70 So by no means it's true education, 00:19:31.73\00:19:33.34 or obtaining of Biblical knowledge, 00:19:33.37\00:19:36.34 it's not negating 00:19:36.37\00:19:37.77 the importance of the temporal life 00:19:37.81\00:19:39.54 and understanding the things that we have to do. 00:19:39.57\00:19:41.48 But even the things in temporal life 00:19:41.51\00:19:43.01 have a way that it can point us back to God. 00:19:43.04\00:19:44.75 Yeah. 00:19:44.78\00:19:46.11 I use agriculture because that's what Jesus used, often, 00:19:46.15\00:19:47.78 He would use agriculture as a model, 00:19:47.82\00:19:50.09 a great example of that. 00:19:50.12\00:19:51.45 When a person would work in agriculture 00:19:51.49\00:19:52.99 and they would notice trees, 00:19:53.02\00:19:54.36 they would notice there's something different 00:19:54.39\00:19:56.32 about the evergreen from every other tree. 00:19:56.36\00:19:57.69 Right. 00:19:57.73\00:19:59.06 And the fact is that an evergreen stays green 00:19:59.09\00:20:01.70 all the time. 00:20:01.73\00:20:03.06 Yeah. 00:20:03.10\00:20:04.43 Where all these other trees, at different times, 00:20:04.47\00:20:05.80 they go through their various changes 00:20:05.83\00:20:07.17 and fading and so on and so forth. 00:20:07.20\00:20:08.54 Well, obviously that would help us 00:20:08.57\00:20:09.90 to understand Malachi 3:6 00:20:09.94\00:20:11.47 when God says, 00:20:11.51\00:20:12.84 "I am the Lord and I change not." 00:20:12.87\00:20:14.28 Right. 00:20:14.31\00:20:15.64 So every time I see the evergreen tree 00:20:15.68\00:20:17.45 that doesn't change 00:20:17.48\00:20:19.31 it would remind me God is God and He doesn't change. 00:20:19.35\00:20:22.48 So even when bad things happen in life 00:20:22.52\00:20:24.32 and all these things, 00:20:24.35\00:20:25.69 I can remember God is God and He doesn't change, 00:20:25.72\00:20:27.36 He's like that evergreen tree, He stays the same all the time. 00:20:27.39\00:20:29.82 It's good to know that there's somebody 00:20:29.86\00:20:31.19 that does not change 00:20:31.23\00:20:32.56 with every wind of doctrine that blows. 00:20:32.59\00:20:33.93 That's right. 00:20:33.96\00:20:35.30 It's good to know that there's somebody 00:20:35.33\00:20:36.67 that doesn't change 00:20:36.70\00:20:38.03 whenever circumstances in life change. 00:20:38.07\00:20:39.40 God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. 00:20:39.43\00:20:40.77 Right. 00:20:40.80\00:20:42.14 So it was like even when people learn knowledge 00:20:42.17\00:20:44.01 from a temporal standpoint, 00:20:44.04\00:20:45.67 they were able to still take the knowledge, 00:20:45.71\00:20:48.31 and it was designed to point them back to God 00:20:48.34\00:20:50.21 in some shape, form, or size. 00:20:50.25\00:20:51.75 And the Bible promises, 00:20:51.78\00:20:53.35 thou will keep him in perfect peace, 00:20:53.38\00:20:56.38 whose mind is stayed on thee. 00:20:56.42\00:20:58.42 And that's the benefit of true education. 00:20:58.45\00:21:01.22 Now when an individual gains a knowledge of God 00:21:01.26\00:21:05.46 and they understand His purity, they understand His character, 00:21:05.49\00:21:08.50 they understand His wisdom, they understand His love, 00:21:08.53\00:21:10.80 they understand His grace, they understand His mercy, 00:21:10.83\00:21:13.50 something happens. 00:21:13.54\00:21:14.87 I wanna use an example, I'm in Isaiah 6. 00:21:14.90\00:21:16.94 Okay. Because in Isaiah 6. 00:21:16.97\00:21:19.04 I believe it's very powerful of what this does 00:21:19.07\00:21:21.04 because Isaiah went through an experience 00:21:21.08\00:21:23.51 that I know I've been through it 00:21:23.55\00:21:25.05 and through know, I know you went through it. 00:21:25.08\00:21:26.41 Yeah. 00:21:26.45\00:21:27.78 But there's a lot of people 00:21:27.82\00:21:29.15 who still need this and this is what it is. 00:21:29.18\00:21:30.52 In Isaiah 6, I'm gonna start at verse 1 00:21:30.55\00:21:33.52 and we're going to take it down to verse 8, Isaiah 6:1-8, 00:21:33.56\00:21:38.09 here's what the Bible says, 00:21:38.13\00:21:39.63 "In the year that King Uzziah died, 00:21:39.66\00:21:41.70 I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, 00:21:41.73\00:21:44.13 high and lifted up, 00:21:44.17\00:21:45.50 and His train filled the temple. 00:21:45.53\00:21:46.90 Above it stood the Seraphims, 00:21:46.94\00:21:48.27 each one had six wings with twain he covered his face, 00:21:48.30\00:21:50.94 and with twain he covered His feet 00:21:50.97\00:21:52.57 and with twain He did fly." 00:21:52.61\00:21:54.64 It says, "And one cried unto another, 00:21:54.68\00:21:56.75 and said, holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts, 00:21:56.78\00:21:59.91 the whole earth is full of His glory, 00:21:59.95\00:22:02.25 and the posts of the door 00:22:02.28\00:22:03.62 moved at the voice of Him that cried, 00:22:03.65\00:22:04.99 and the house was filled with smoke. 00:22:05.02\00:22:07.19 Then said I, woe is me! 00:22:07.22\00:22:11.83 For I am undone 00:22:11.86\00:22:13.93 because I am a man of unclean lips, 00:22:13.96\00:22:15.90 and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips, 00:22:15.93\00:22:18.37 for mine eyes have seen the King, 00:22:18.40\00:22:22.44 the Lord of hosts. 00:22:22.47\00:22:23.84 Then flew one of the Seraphims unto me, 00:22:23.87\00:22:25.34 having a live coal in his hand, 00:22:25.37\00:22:26.71 which He had taken with the tongs 00:22:26.74\00:22:28.08 from off the altar, 00:22:28.11\00:22:29.44 and he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, 00:22:29.48\00:22:31.55 this hath touched thy lips 00:22:31.58\00:22:33.15 and thine iniquity is taken away, 00:22:33.18\00:22:35.38 and thy sin purged. 00:22:35.42\00:22:36.99 Also I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 00:22:37.02\00:22:38.99 whom shall I send, and who will go for us? 00:22:39.02\00:22:41.92 Then said I, here am I, send me." 00:22:41.96\00:22:47.03 Isaiah is a servant of God. 00:22:47.06\00:22:49.30 When you read Isaiah 1-5, 00:22:49.33\00:22:53.80 literally 8 times Isaiah looks at Israel and says, 00:22:53.84\00:22:56.97 "Woe to you all." 00:22:57.01\00:22:58.34 Woe, woe, woe. 00:22:58.37\00:22:59.71 In other words you guys all messed up, 00:22:59.74\00:23:01.08 there's something wrong with you, 00:23:01.11\00:23:02.44 you're going off the path of God. 00:23:02.48\00:23:04.25 He's woeing them. 00:23:04.28\00:23:05.61 But in Isaiah 6, 00:23:05.65\00:23:07.42 it is as if Isaiah is seeing God in a way 00:23:07.45\00:23:10.45 that he's never seen Him before. 00:23:10.49\00:23:12.55 He's gaining a knowledge of God that he never had before. 00:23:12.59\00:23:17.93 And as he beholds God in his purity, in his majesty, 00:23:17.96\00:23:22.70 in his glory, it causes Isaiah 00:23:22.73\00:23:25.87 to make a better estimate about himself and he says, 00:23:25.90\00:23:30.17 "Woe is me, because I am undone. 00:23:30.21\00:23:34.18 I'm a man of unclean lips, 00:23:34.21\00:23:35.64 and I'm in the midst of a people of unclean lips." 00:23:35.68\00:23:38.41 It was through beholding God 00:23:38.45\00:23:39.85 and having a right knowledge of Him, 00:23:39.88\00:23:42.75 that Isaiah was able to have a right knowledge of himself. 00:23:42.78\00:23:46.45 And this is the concept of a true knowledge of self. 00:23:46.49\00:23:47.99 Yeah. 00:23:48.02\00:23:49.36 A true knowledge of self helps us see, 00:23:49.39\00:23:50.73 woe was me. 00:23:50.76\00:23:52.09 When I compare myself to man... 00:23:52.13\00:23:53.50 Oh, yeah, there always be something 00:23:53.53\00:23:54.86 that I can say above and beyond myself 00:23:54.90\00:23:56.36 about the next man. 00:23:56.40\00:23:57.73 But when I compare myself to God, 00:23:57.77\00:23:59.87 when I begin to see God, 00:23:59.90\00:24:01.24 and when I begin to see Jesus Christ 00:24:01.27\00:24:02.60 in His character and in His purity, 00:24:02.64\00:24:04.44 it helps me see how much I'm unlike Him, 00:24:04.47\00:24:06.94 and how much I need to be like Him. 00:24:06.98\00:24:09.24 So that by the grace of God 00:24:09.28\00:24:10.61 when Jesus comes I can be with Him. 00:24:10.65\00:24:12.71 And this is the design of true knowledge of self. 00:24:12.75\00:24:16.12 Yeah. 00:24:16.15\00:24:17.49 It is designed to help us 00:24:17.52\00:24:18.85 get a clear picture of who God is, 00:24:18.89\00:24:20.22 His character, His love, and His grace, 00:24:20.26\00:24:21.89 and as I behold that character, 00:24:21.92\00:24:24.36 then by beholding I become changed. 00:24:24.39\00:24:27.23 And then I now have a right estimation of myself, 00:24:27.26\00:24:29.60 who am I to glory about anything that I have? 00:24:29.63\00:24:30.97 Yeah. 00:24:31.00\00:24:32.33 God is the one that gave me my talent, 00:24:32.37\00:24:33.70 as He's the one that gave me my abilities. 00:24:33.74\00:24:35.07 How can I boast or brag about anything? 00:24:35.10\00:24:36.60 Right, so it's not a drudgery, it's not slavery, 00:24:36.64\00:24:39.51 it's not mental slavery, it's a relationship. 00:24:39.54\00:24:41.81 That's right. 00:24:41.84\00:24:43.18 And so it's a benefit for me to observe God 00:24:43.21\00:24:46.28 and see myself for who I truly am 00:24:46.31\00:24:48.85 and acknowledge the fact that God wants greater for me. 00:24:48.88\00:24:50.45 That's right. 00:24:50.49\00:24:51.82 That God designed me to be like Him. 00:24:51.85\00:24:54.22 He didn't design me to be who I am now, 00:24:54.26\00:24:56.73 He designed me to be like Him, His son and daughter, royalty. 00:24:56.76\00:25:00.03 So there is power, there is heritage, 00:25:00.06\00:25:02.10 there is prestige in following God. 00:25:02.13\00:25:04.27 It's not servitude and slavery? That's right. 00:25:04.30\00:25:07.04 And always remember with knowledge 00:25:07.07\00:25:08.50 always comes wisdom. 00:25:08.54\00:25:09.90 And the question is, well, what is wisdom? 00:25:09.94\00:25:11.61 We can define it lots of ways 00:25:11.64\00:25:12.97 but I like to let the Bible define it. 00:25:13.01\00:25:14.41 In Deuteronomy 4, 00:25:14.44\00:25:16.48 we get one of the clearest Biblical examples 00:25:16.51\00:25:18.61 of what wisdom is. 00:25:18.65\00:25:19.98 And I love to look at it 00:25:20.02\00:25:21.35 and I want to go ahead and read it. 00:25:21.38\00:25:22.72 We're in Deuteronomy 4, 00:25:22.75\00:25:24.09 we're just gonna look at verses 5 and 6. 00:25:24.12\00:25:25.45 Okay. And here's what it says. 00:25:25.49\00:25:26.82 It says, "Behold I have taught you statutes and judgments, 00:25:26.86\00:25:30.73 even as the Lord my God commanded me 00:25:30.76\00:25:34.80 that you should do 00:25:34.83\00:25:36.16 so in the land whither ye go to possess it. 00:25:36.20\00:25:37.83 Keep therefore and do them, for this is your wisdom, 00:25:37.87\00:25:44.74 and your understanding in the sight of the nations 00:25:44.77\00:25:47.51 which shall hear all these statues, and say, 00:25:47.54\00:25:49.34 surely this great nation is a wise 00:25:49.38\00:25:51.88 and understanding people. 00:25:51.91\00:25:53.25 So it's not just a observing or a studying, it's a doing? 00:25:53.28\00:25:57.49 That's right. 00:25:57.52\00:25:58.85 And that's highlighted throughout scripture. 00:25:58.89\00:26:00.22 That's right. 00:26:00.26\00:26:01.59 And the Bible says in the Book of James, 00:26:01.62\00:26:02.96 it tells us, 00:26:02.99\00:26:04.33 "Blessed are the doers of the word." 00:26:04.36\00:26:05.69 Right. 00:26:05.73\00:26:07.06 So it becomes imperative that we understand 00:26:07.10\00:26:08.43 that God has called us to, number one, 00:26:08.46\00:26:10.80 understand who He is, by understanding who He is, 00:26:10.83\00:26:13.64 I can get a better understanding 00:26:13.67\00:26:15.47 of who I am. 00:26:15.50\00:26:16.84 Yes. 00:26:16.87\00:26:18.21 And then when I understand who I am, 00:26:18.24\00:26:19.57 then I'm going to access God 00:26:19.61\00:26:20.94 because all I can say about me is, woe is me. 00:26:20.98\00:26:22.81 There's nothing great, marvelous, and fantastic 00:26:22.84\00:26:24.78 that I can look at myself and say great I Am. 00:26:24.81\00:26:27.08 And then in my humility I go to God and say, 00:26:27.12\00:26:29.78 "Lord, come into my heart 00:26:29.82\00:26:31.15 so that your greatness can be lived out within me." 00:26:31.19\00:26:33.52 And when I begin to practice the things 00:26:33.56\00:26:35.56 that God has called me to do through Him 00:26:35.59\00:26:37.13 giving me power to do it, I am humble, 00:26:37.16\00:26:40.00 there is no point of self-glorification, 00:26:40.03\00:26:42.20 there is no wisdom 00:26:42.23\00:26:43.57 that I can boast or brag about of myself, 00:26:43.60\00:26:45.80 all glory goes to God. 00:26:45.83\00:26:48.37 So, essentially the Bible defines 00:26:48.40\00:26:51.57 true knowledge of self? 00:26:51.61\00:26:52.94 That's right. 00:26:52.97\00:26:54.31 And it's contrasted to a false knowledge of self. 00:26:54.34\00:26:56.18 That's right. 00:26:56.21\00:26:57.55 So there is a difference 00:26:57.58\00:26:58.91 and the Bible makes it very plain. 00:26:58.95\00:27:01.02 So I believe there's another verse 00:27:01.05\00:27:02.58 that highlights that 00:27:02.62\00:27:03.95 and if you could read that for us? 00:27:03.99\00:27:05.35 Well, it's in 2 Corinthians 4:6-7. 00:27:05.39\00:27:09.42 And here's what it says, 2 Corinthians 4:6-7, 00:27:09.46\00:27:12.56 "For God, who commanded the light 00:27:12.59\00:27:13.93 to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, 00:27:13.96\00:27:15.73 to give the light of the knowledge 00:27:15.76\00:27:17.10 of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 00:27:17.13\00:27:19.50 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels 00:27:19.53\00:27:22.17 that the Excellency of the power of God 00:27:22.20\00:27:24.77 may be of God, and not of us." 00:27:24.81\00:27:29.28 So we have to recognize that it's of God and not of us. 00:27:29.31\00:27:34.98 We want to consider these things 00:27:35.02\00:27:36.95 and know that the Bible is clear 00:27:36.99\00:27:39.95 and highlights this true knowledge of self. 00:27:39.99\00:27:42.96 We're gonna continue to delve into these things. 00:27:42.99\00:27:44.99 We thank you for viewing and we invite you to come back, 00:27:45.03\00:27:48.10 and we want you to remember in Proverbs 2:6, 00:27:48.13\00:27:53.00 "It's the Lord that gives wisdom 00:27:53.03\00:27:55.60 and out of His mouth, 00:27:55.64\00:27:57.31 comes knowledge and understanding." 00:27:57.34\00:27:59.64 God bless you and we hope to see you again. 00:27:59.67\00:28:02.04
