¤ ¤ 00:00:01.96\00:00:27.22 The world changed forever when the Wright brothers took to the 00:00:27.26\00:00:29.89 sky on the 17th of December 1903 They showed us what their flying 00:00:29.92\00:00:35.10 machine could do. Their historic first flight lasted just 12 00:00:35.13\00:00:40.14 seconds and covered 40 meters. From that humble beginning the 00:00:40.17\00:00:45.54 aviation industry has developed into one of the largest and 00:00:45.57\00:00:49.51 fastest growing in the world. At any given time there are 9700 00:00:49.54\00:00:55.88 planes and one point two million people in the sky. So it's no 00:00:55.92\00:01:00.72 surprise that last year the aviation industry generated 00:01:00.76\00:01:05.13 global revenue of over 900 billion dollars as well as 00:01:05.16\00:01:09.73 providing over 65 million jobs worldwide. And all this has 00:01:09.76\00:01:15.27 happened in less than 120 years. Airplanes have also come a long 00:01:15.30\00:01:20.54 way since the Wright brothers first flight in their simple 00:01:20.58\00:01:24.58 design plane the Wright Flyer. In fact, the wing span of an air 00:01:24.61\00:01:29.95 bus, the largest commercial air liner, is double the length of 00:01:29.98\00:01:34.32 the Wright brothers original flight. And the average Boeing 00:01:34.36\00:01:38.73 747 has around 280 kilometers of wiring and six million parts. 00:01:38.76\00:01:45.40 That's certainly a lot more technical and sophisticated than 00:01:45.43\00:01:49.54 the original Wright Flyer. The airline industry's safety record 00:01:49.57\00:01:55.08 has also improved significantly over the past 100 years. The 00:01:55.11\00:02:00.12 first fatal aviation accident involving a powered aircraft 00:02:00.15\00:02:04.82 was the crash of a Wright model A aircraft in 1908. The plane 00:02:04.85\00:02:10.09 was piloted by Orville Wright, one of the Wright brothers. The 00:02:10.13\00:02:14.36 crash injured Orville and killed the passenger Thomas Selfridge. 00:02:14.40\00:02:19.33 But today flying is the safest way to travel. Traveling by 00:02:19.37\00:02:25.84 plane is 10 times safer than making a trip by train and 19 00:02:25.87\00:02:30.28 times safer than in a car. The chance of you boarding a flight 00:02:30.31\00:02:34.82 that will be in a fatal accident is one in seven million. How did 00:02:34.85\00:02:41.89 flying got so safe and reliable? Well in part because previous 00:02:41.92\00:02:47.80 accidents triggered crucial safety improvements and one of 00:02:47.83\00:02:52.43 those accidents whose influence is felt each time you step on a 00:02:52.47\00:02:57.14 plane happened right here. This is the story of Trans 00:02:57.17\00:03:02.14 Australian Airline flight 538 that crashed into the sea near 00:03:02.18\00:03:07.05 Mackay on the 10th of June 1960 killing all 29 people on board. 00:03:07.08\00:03:13.72 Join me as we take a look at the mysterious circumstances 00:03:13.76\00:03:18.93 surrounding Australia's worst civil aviation disaster. It's 00:03:18.96\00:03:24.93 real, it's tragic and it's relevant, because it carries a 00:03:24.97\00:03:29.70 special message for us today. 00:03:29.74\00:03:32.97 ¤ ¤ 00:03:33.01\00:03:54.56 Mackay is a relaxed coastal town located on the east coast of 00:03:54.60\00:04:00.00 Australia about 950 kilometers north of Brisbane along the 00:04:00.04\00:04:05.04 banks of the Pioneer River. The area is known as the Mackay 00:04:05.07\00:04:10.85 Sunday region and has been nicknamed the sugar capital of 00:04:10.88\00:04:14.35 Australia because it produces more than a third of Australia's 00:04:14.38\00:04:17.82 sugar. The region is also famous for its endless nature and 00:04:17.85\00:04:23.02 wildlife. There's kilometers of pristine rain forest, cool fresh 00:04:23.06\00:04:27.66 water gorges and splendid sandy beaches. There's over 860 plant 00:04:27.70\00:04:33.70 species and 330 bird species. There are platypus in its clear 00:04:33.74\00:04:39.11 rain forest rivers and wallaby's and kangaroos on its sandy 00:04:39.14\00:04:43.45 beaches. The city was named after pioneering explorer John 00:04:43.48\00:04:48.95 Mackay who was the leader of the first expedition into the 00:04:48.98\00:04:52.25 Pioneer Valley in 1860. Interestingly almost a hundred 00:04:52.29\00:04:57.43 years before Mackay explored the region Captain James Cook was 00:04:57.46\00:05:02.26 one of the first European explorers to navigate the Mackay 00:05:02.30\00:05:07.07 coast in June of 1770. John Mackay was born in Inverness 00:05:07.10\00:05:12.77 Scotland and moved to Australia with his parents when he was 15 00:05:12.81\00:05:16.91 years old. The family settled in the New England district of 00:05:16.95\00:05:20.75 what was then the British colony of New South Wales where 00:05:20.78\00:05:25.05 Mackay's father bought a property near Uralla. In 1860 00:05:25.09\00:05:30.49 Mackay led a party of eight men to explore the area surrounding 00:05:30.53\00:05:35.23 the Pioneer River along the central Queensland coast. 00:05:35.26\00:05:38.93 They left Uralla in January of 1860 and arrived in Gladstone 00:05:38.97\00:05:43.74 two months later and then Rockhampton two weeks after 00:05:43.77\00:05:48.18 that. In Rockhampton two of the group left the expedition and 00:05:48.21\00:05:53.31 the remaining six made their way north across the Gordsound 00:05:53.35\00:05:57.35 ranges and up the Ibek River. Much of the land in that region 00:05:57.39\00:06:02.06 had already been marked out by a previous expedition and Mackay 00:06:02.09\00:06:06.56 and his group turned northeast. They discovered a coastal valley 00:06:06.59\00:06:12.03 and after several days' journey they came to the banks of a 00:06:12.07\00:06:15.50 large river. They named the river Mackay River, known today 00:06:15.54\00:06:20.38 as the Pioneer River in honor of John Mackay's father, and 00:06:20.41\00:06:24.78 followed it north and then east before finally discovering 00:06:24.81\00:06:28.78 vast grassy plains which they named the Main Plains. These 00:06:28.82\00:06:34.99 plains were located in the area where the town of Mackay and 00:06:35.02\00:06:38.86 its suburbs are now situated. In the weeks following their 00:06:38.89\00:06:43.13 discovery the group began marking out room for themselves. 00:06:43.16\00:06:47.17 John Mackay marked out large portions of land on the south 00:06:47.20\00:06:52.47 end of the Pioneer River for himself which he named the 00:06:52.51\00:06:56.54 Greenmount and Cape Palmerston runs. John Mackay became the 00:06:56.58\00:07:03.08 first European settler in the region and took up residence 00:07:03.12\00:07:07.79 here on the Greenmount station on the southern side of the 00:07:07.82\00:07:11.13 Pioneer River in 1861. In the late 19th century the region of 00:07:11.16\00:07:17.47 Mackay was best known as Queensland's largest producer of 00:07:17.50\00:07:22.14 beef within the Australian colonies. It was also known for 00:07:22.17\00:07:25.71 its sugar industry. Today the region operates four sugar mills 00:07:25.74\00:07:31.35 which process millions of tons of sugar cane. It's during 00:07:31.38\00:07:36.45 _ cane farmers provide a staggering 6.5 million tons of 00:07:36.48\00:07:41.22 cane to factories for processing from approximately 86,000 00:07:41.26\00:07:46.49 hectares of farmland. 00:07:46.53\00:07:48.06 On the 10th of June 1960 Trans Australian 00:07:48.10\00:07:54.07 Airlines flight 538 was scheduled to fly from Brisbane 00:07:54.10\00:07:58.37 to Mackay on the central Queensland coast. The flight had 00:07:58.41\00:08:02.41 two planned stops on the way one in Maryborough and another 00:08:02.44\00:08:06.41 in Rockhampton. The flight took off as scheduled at 5 p.m. local 00:08:06.45\00:08:10.39 time with Captain S.E. Pallar and first officer G.L. Davis 00:08:10.42\00:08:16.16 in the cockpit. They had an uneventful flight to Maryborough 00:08:16.19\00:08:20.00 and then on to Rockhampton. They arrived at Rockhampton airport 00:08:20.03\00:08:24.33 at 7:12 p.m. and welcomed 16 new passengers on board bringing the 00:08:24.37\00:08:30.71 total passenger manifest to 25. Nine of the passengers that 00:08:30.74\00:08:35.81 boarded in Rockhampton were school boys, some as young as 00:08:35.84\00:08:39.48 nine years old. They were boarders at Rockhampton 00:08:39.51\00:08:43.08 Grammar School and were flying home to Mackay for the Queen's 00:08:43.12\00:08:46.92 birthday long weekend. While on the ground in Rockhampton the 00:08:46.96\00:08:52.39 crew received a weather forecast from the Mackay. The forecast 00:08:52.43\00:08:56.20 predicted shallow patches of fog which could contribute to poor 00:08:56.23\00:09:00.30 visibility at ground level. As a precaution, the plane was 00:09:00.34\00:09:05.17 refueled bringing the total fuel load to 700 gallons. The extra 00:09:05.21\00:09:11.48 fuel gave the pilot the option of flying further north to 00:09:11.51\00:09:15.95 Townsville in the event that ground conditions in Mackay were 00:09:15.98\00:09:19.82 not suitable for a landing. Finally, the plane was ready for 00:09:19.85\00:09:24.69 takeoff and left Rockhampton at 7:52 p.m. climbing to an 00:09:24.73\00:09:29.76 the altitude of 13,000 feet or about 4000 meters for the last 00:09:29.80\00:09:35.50 leg of their journey to Mackay. By 8:17 p.m. that night the air 00:09:35.54\00:09:41.11 traffic controller at Mackay, A.W. Mistle noted heavy fog 00:09:41.14\00:09:46.72 rolling into the airport. The Mackay Airport is located right 00:09:46.75\00:09:50.82 next to the ocean and flights approach the runway over the sea 00:09:50.85\00:09:55.62 making landings at night with poor visibility quite tricky. 00:09:55.66\00:09:59.86 Deciding that ground conditions were not favorable for safe 00:09:59.89\00:10:04.73 takeoff or landing Mistle temporarily shut down the 00:10:04.77\00:10:09.14 airport. A few minutes later TAA flight 538 contacted the control 00:10:09.17\00:10:16.28 tower in Mackay to let them know that they were ready to make 00:10:16.31\00:10:19.68 their descent into Mackay. Mistle informed Pallar of the 00:10:19.71\00:10:24.95 conditions on the ground and Pallar told him that he would 00:10:24.99\00:10:28.12 hold the aircraft over Mackay and wait for visibility to 00:10:28.16\00:10:32.36 improve. By 8:40 p.m. Pallar began notifying Mistle that the 00:10:32.39\00:10:39.00 aircraft was over the Mackay airport. It was a clear moonlit 00:10:39.03\00:10:44.07 night but there were thick ribbons of fog hugging close to 00:10:44.11\00:10:47.84 the ground. For the passengers looking out into the night 00:10:47.88\00:10:52.65 everything would have appeared calm. The ocean was like a still 00:10:52.68\00:10:56.95 glass plate lying quietly in the moonlight completely calm and 00:10:56.99\00:11:02.09 unruffled. Pallar attempted to land the plane twice but both 00:11:02.12\00:11:07.53 times he was forced to abort the landing. The fog was too thick 00:11:07.56\00:11:12.93 and too close to the ground along the coastline making it 00:11:12.97\00:11:16.74 difficult for him to see the runway on the final approach. 00:11:16.77\00:11:19.71 So he continued 00:11:19.74\00:11:21.64 to hold the plane over Mackay until 10 p.m. Finally at 00:11:21.68\00:11:27.45 10 p.m. Mistle radioed Pallar to let him know that ground 00:11:27.48\00:11:31.99 conditions were changing. The fog was beginning to thin out 00:11:32.02\00:11:36.02 making it easier to see the runway. Pallar acknowledged the 00:11:36.06\00:11:40.86 message and told Mistle that he would begin his third approach 00:11:40.90\00:11:44.90 to the airport. Following protocol Mistle radioed the 00:11:44.93\00:11:50.77 airport fire service asking for a ground temperature report. 00:11:50.81\00:11:54.71 He then radioed Pallar to let him know that the temperature on 00:11:54.74\00:11:59.21 the ground in Mackay was 13 degrees Celsius. He was greeted 00:11:59.25\00:12:04.95 with radio silence. Mistle radioed Pallar with the weather 00:12:04.99\00:12:10.56 report again noting that the time was 10:05 p.m. Once again 00:12:10.59\00:12:17.23 he was greeted with silence. Five minutes later at 10:10 p.m. 00:12:17.27\00:12:23.27 Mistle activated protocols to launch a search and rescue 00:12:23.30\00:12:28.04 operation. At 3 a.m. on the 11th of June five hours after the 00:12:28.08\00:12:34.15 search and rescue operation began parts of the wreckage of 00:12:34.18\00:12:38.02 the plane were discovered by a motor launch equipped with a 00:12:38.05\00:12:42.36 search light. The wreckage which included passenger seats, items 00:12:42.39\00:12:48.03 of clothing and cabin furnishings was floating on the 00:12:48.06\00:12:51.63 ocean about five nautical miles due east of Mackay airport. 00:12:51.67\00:12:56.60 between Roundtop Island and Flattop Island. The Navy ship 00:12:56.64\00:13:01.44 H.M.S. Warrior arrived on the 12th of June to begin searching 00:13:01.48\00:13:06.38 for the sunken parts of the aircraft. In Mackay flags were 00:13:06.41\00:13:11.42 flown at half-mast and the city was plunged into mourning. Many 00:13:11.45\00:13:16.26 of the passengers had been locals including the nine young 00:13:16.29\00:13:19.96 boys who had boarded at Rockhampton. Small groups of 00:13:20.00\00:13:24.17 onlookers, family and friends gathered along the shore to 00:13:24.20\00:13:29.07 watch the Navy ship and other ships as they carried out their 00:13:29.10\00:13:33.04 salvage operation. At 4:20 p.m. on the 12th of June divers 00:13:33.07\00:13:39.38 discovered major sections of the aircraft 13 meters underwater. 00:13:39.41\00:13:44.22 It took two weeks to salvage the wreck. Late in July a board of 00:13:44.25\00:13:50.06 accident inquiry was appointed to investigate the circumstances 00:13:50.09\00:13:55.10 that led to the crash. Investigators were allowed time 00:13:55.13\00:13:59.57 to sift through the wreckage for about four months before the 00:13:59.60\00:14:03.81 board of inquiry officially opened on the 4th of October 00:14:03.84\00:14:07.61 1960. After listening to hours of testimony and examining reams 00:14:07.64\00:14:13.15 of evidence the inquiry could not determine the cause of the 00:14:13.18\00:14:17.92 accident. It looked like the plane had flown into the ocean 00:14:17.95\00:14:22.72 for no apparent reason. The board focused its attention on 00:14:22.76\00:14:27.40 several theories connected to the altimeter. Now the 00:14:27.43\00:14:31.70 altimeter's function is to tell the pilot the altitude of the 00:14:31.73\00:14:36.04 aircraft. The board of inquiry into the TAA flight 538 crash 00:14:36.07\00:14:42.31 speculated that the altimeter had malfunctioned giving out a 00:14:42.34\00:14:46.88 false reading of the aircraft's altitude. Another theory was 00:14:46.92\00:14:52.02 that the pilot has misread or misinterpreted the readings of 00:14:52.05\00:14:56.19 the three point altimeter. This led the board to speculate that 00:14:56.22\00:15:01.43 perhaps the crash was a result of controlled flight into 00:15:01.46\00:15:04.57 terrain meaning that Captain Pallar misread his instruments 00:15:04.60\00:15:09.20 and simply flew his plane straight into the ocean. Several 00:15:09.24\00:15:14.61 other theories cropped up as well but nobody knew for certain 00:15:14.64\00:15:18.38 what had happened. As the Mackay community mourned the loss of 00:15:18.41\00:15:22.98 life the board of accident inquiry into the crash revealed 00:15:23.02\00:15:27.56 its findings and made several recommendations. One of the 00:15:27.59\00:15:32.09 strongest recommendations they made was that flight data 00:15:32.13\00:15:35.96 recorders be made a mandatory feature of all passenger 00:15:36.00\00:15:40.90 aircraft. The board concluded that a flight data recorder 00:15:40.94\00:15:45.51 would have provided investigators with information 00:15:45.54\00:15:49.11 that could have helped them to determine the exact cause of the 00:15:49.14\00:15:53.52 accident. Taking on board this recommendation Australia became 00:15:53.55\00:15:58.62 the first country in the world to mandate the carriage of 00:15:58.65\00:16:02.79 cockpit voice recorders on passenger aircrafts. Today every 00:16:02.82\00:16:09.66 passenger aircraft is required to carry two flight recorders 00:16:09.70\00:16:14.14 and mandatory regulations are overseen by the international 00:16:14.17\00:16:18.91 civil aviation authority. Flight recorders or black boxes as they 00:16:18.94\00:16:24.91 are commonly known today are located in the rear fuselage of 00:16:24.95\00:16:28.78 of the aircraft. This location increases the probability of 00:16:28.82\00:16:33.66 successfully retrieving the data after a crash. An interesting 00:16:33.69\00:16:39.93 fact about the black box is that it is actually bright orange. 00:16:39.96\00:16:43.93 The term black box originated during World War II. It was 00:16:43.97\00:16:50.04 adopted by members of the RAF to describe any navigational 00:16:50.07\00:16:55.34 instruments or aids that were used by British and Allied 00:16:55.38\00:16:58.65 combat aircraft. Most often these instruments were sealed 00:16:58.68\00:17:03.49 inside nonreflective black boxes Trans Australian Airlines flight 00:17:03.52\00:17:10.13 538 still remains Australia's worst civil aviation disaster 00:17:10.16\00:17:16.00 by loss of life. It is also one of the most mysterious civil 00:17:16.03\00:17:21.00 aviation disasters in history because it's cause is still 00:17:21.04\00:17:25.67 undetermined. Today black box flight recorders help 00:17:25.71\00:17:30.95 investigators to understand what happened inside the aircraft 00:17:30.98\00:17:35.55 shortly before it crashed. The data gathered from these 00:17:35.58\00:17:39.49 recorders provides clarity in the aftermath of a crash and can 00:17:39.52\00:17:44.56 help prevent the recurrence of similar crashes. Clarity and the 00:17:44.59\00:17:49.86 means to prevent a recurrence are perhaps two of the most 00:17:49.90\00:17:53.27 important functions of flight data recorders. After a crash 00:17:53.30\00:17:58.67 so many people look for answers. 00:17:58.71\00:18:01.41 They want to understand what happened and whether or not it 00:18:01.44\00:18:05.15 could have been prevented and why if it could have been 00:18:05.18\00:18:08.38 prevented it wasn't. Answers don't restore the lives that 00:18:08.42\00:18:13.39 were lost but they can ensure the safety of thousands of 00:18:13.42\00:18:19.53 others. The Bible is perhaps the most accurate black box in 00:18:19.56\00:18:25.13 history. It provides a narrative that answers some of life's most 00:18:25.17\00:18:30.07 important questions and in doing so provide confident hope to all 00:18:30.11\00:18:36.44 who turn its pages. Every human being grapples with five major 00:18:36.48\00:18:42.28 questions in life:... 00:18:42.32\00:18:55.03 The Bible provides clear and comprehensive answers to each of 00:18:55.06\00:18:59.13 these questions. In Genesis chapter one and verse one the 00:18:59.17\00:19:03.81 Bible gives us a concise but clear answer regarding the 00:19:03.84\00:19:07.74 question of our origins. It says... 00:19:07.78\00:19:16.99 Then further down in the same chapter it gives us the answer 00:19:17.02\00:19:20.86 to the question of meaning. Genesis chapter one and verse 00:19:20.89\00:19:25.23 27 says... 00:19:25.26\00:19:36.50 The biblical narrative of creation and purpose doesn't 00:19:36.54\00:19:40.84 just give us a sense or origin and meaning but it also provides 00:19:40.88\00:19:44.85 us with a sense of intrinsic worth. To be created in the 00:19:44.88\00:19:50.29 image of the eternal creator God is to have value and be valued. 00:19:50.32\00:19:55.19 And if ever there was a time in history when we have needed a 00:19:55.22\00:19:59.59 message of value, meaning and purpose it's now. The Bible then 00:19:59.63\00:20:05.50 goes on to give us answers to the question of the origin of 00:20:05.53\00:20:10.07 evil and suffering. Jesus addresses it in a short 00:20:10.11\00:20:13.84 statement in Matthew chapter 13 and verses 27 and 28. Using the 00:20:13.88\00:20:20.45 imagery of a parable Jesus explains where the weeds of sin 00:20:20.48\00:20:25.15 and suffering have come from. Here's what he said... 00:20:25.19\00:20:43.81 And later on in the same passage he explains who the enemy is. 00:20:43.84\00:20:53.65 Using the parable of the wheat and tares in Matthew chapter 13 00:20:53.68\00:20:58.29 Jesus paints a picture of a cosmic struggle taking place 00:20:58.32\00:21:02.76 between the forces of good and evil which gives us a backdrop 00:21:02.79\00:21:07.60 and context for the suffering and evil we find in our world 00:21:07.63\00:21:12.20 today. The Bible also provides answers to the questions of 00:21:12.23\00:21:17.21 morality and destiny. In Matthew chapter five and verse 17 Jesus 00:21:17.24\00:21:22.98 says this... 00:21:23.01\00:21:31.72 Jesus points to the great moral law given by God himself as not 00:21:44.37\00:21:49.27 only binding but still relevant to the challenges we face in 00:21:49.30\00:21:53.11 life today. The 10 commandments are still God's moral compass 00:21:53.14\00:21:58.61 to guide us today. Finally in John 14 verses 1-3 Jesus gives 00:21:58.65\00:22:05.75 the answer to the question of destiny. 00:22:05.79\00:22:09.22 The destiny of every person created in the image of God is 00:22:27.24\00:22:32.41 eternity. When we look at the world around us and see the 00:22:32.45\00:22:37.05 suffering, turmoil and despair it can be difficult to picture 00:22:37.09\00:22:41.09 through the debris and find hope But the Bible offers us hope by 00:22:41.12\00:22:45.56 providing us with faithful and accurate answers to life's most 00:22:45.59\00:22:50.00 pressing issues. By providing us with answers to the questions of 00:22:50.03\00:22:55.80 origin, meaning, suffering, morality and destiny the Bible 00:22:55.84\00:23:00.74 gives us a comprehensive world view, a lens through which we 00:23:00.78\00:23:04.81 can safely and accurately view the world and navigate the 00:23:04.85\00:23:09.28 obstacles that lie ahead. But perhaps the most important 00:23:09.32\00:23:14.09 answer it provides us is found in the person of Jesus Christ. 00:23:14.12\00:23:18.03 In giving us the answers to life's big questions the Bible 00:23:18.06\00:23:23.06 anchors us to a person and not just a set of rules. The focal 00:23:23.10\00:23:28.60 point of the Bible is Jesus and it is through an understanding 00:23:28.64\00:23:33.07 of who Jesus is and what he did that we can most clearly find 00:23:33.11\00:23:37.75 the answers we seek. Jesus makes an irresistible invitation to us 00:23:37.78\00:23:43.22 in Matthew chapter 11 verses 28-30. Here it is: 00:23:43.25\00:23:48.62 I don't know what burden you're carrying. I don't know what's 00:24:10.31\00:24:13.31 weighing you down right now but I do know the answer to your 00:24:13.35\00:24:17.69 trouble. When Jesus says to take his yoke upon you he's saying 00:24:17.72\00:24:23.06 he's going to share your problems. He's going to share 00:24:23.09\00:24:25.96 your load. He's going to take your stress on himself and bear 00:24:25.99\00:24:30.40 it with you. Wow! He makes a three fold invitation:... 00:24:30.43\00:24:40.31 Jesus says: 00:24:40.34\00:24:49.08 This is going to reduce your stress. This is going to make it 00:24:49.12\00:24:52.75 easier for you to navigate. You see when you yoke with Christ 00:24:52.79\00:24:57.09 you move together with him. You move in the same direction and 00:24:57.13\00:25:01.56 at the same speed. And you move in the right direction and at 00:25:01.60\00:25:05.80 the right speed. The rest and peace that we are offered in 00:25:05.83\00:25:09.80 Jesus transcends any other offer we can receive. It's a peace 00:25:09.84\00:25:15.28 that keeps us calm through the worst storms of life, a peace 00:25:15.31\00:25:20.02 that can bring us safely to land and a peace that can give us 00:25:20.05\00:25:23.99 hope and assurance for the future. Black boxes have made a 00:25:24.02\00:25:29.59 huge difference in modern air crash investigation and have 00:25:29.62\00:25:33.46 changed civil aviation regulations across the world by 00:25:33.50\00:25:37.87 providing answers in the aftermath of incomprehensible 00:25:37.90\00:25:41.80 scenarios and they've played a major role in making air travel 00:25:41.84\00:25:46.24 so extraordinarily safe today.
