¤ ¤ 00:00:01.36\00:00:24.59 William Creek is the smallest town in the outback and probably 00:00:24.62\00:00:28.39 in all of Australia. The entire population is just 10. The town 00:00:28.42\00:00:33.13 the town is located on a salt bush plain 880 kilometers north 00:00:33.16\00:00:38.43 of Adelaide on the Oodnadatta track and is approximately half 00:00:38.47\00:00:45.21 way between Marree and Oodnadatta and 160 kilometers 00:00:45.24\00:00:48.24 east of Coober Pedy. The old saying is really true here. 00:00:48.28\00:00:52.31 Blink and you'll miss it. 00:00:52.35\00:00:54.52 The Hotel at William Creek is the only 00:00:54.55\00:00:57.19 pub and accommodation on the Oodnadatta Track between Marree 00:00:57.22\00:01:01.42 and Oodnadatta and is one of Australia's iconic and most 00:01:01.46\00:01:04.76 loved outback hotels. The town relies entirely on tourism as 00:01:04.79\00:01:10.90 it's main industry. Overnight guests and events can increase 00:01:10.93\00:01:15.54 the population 20 times to over 200. William Creek is entirely 00:01:15.57\00:01:21.44 surrounded by the world's largest cattle station or ranch 00:01:21.48\00:01:25.81 Anna Creek Station. It covers over 24,000 square kilometers 00:01:25.85\00:01:30.92 or six million acres and is even larger than Israel or Wales. 00:01:30.95\00:01:38.13 Anna Creek, the world's largest cattle station and 00:01:38.16\00:01:40.10 William Creek, Australia's smallest town, are situated in 00:01:40.13\00:01:44.63 the desert and both are dependent on one thing for their 00:01:44.67\00:01:49.14 survival, water. It's not a coincidence that both are named 00:01:49.17\00:01:54.08 after the local creeks or streams the run nearby. Water is 00:01:54.11\00:01:58.88 vital and precious. It's scarce out here. Most years see very 00:01:58.91\00:02:04.89 little rainfall in this region. Survival is a challenge. Life is 00:02:04.92\00:02:11.16 tough. But occasionally, about every 25 years of so, cyclones 00:02:11.19\00:02:15.93 and heavy rains in Queensland and northern Australia send 00:02:15.96\00:02:20.07 flood waters on a 1000 kilometer journey south to 00:02:20.10\00:02:24.51 nearby lake Eyre, the largest lake in Australia. As the water 00:02:24.54\00:02:29.08 flows across the flood planes and fills Lake Eyre, it 00:02:29.11\00:02:33.78 transforms the area and starts the greening of the desert. It 00:02:33.82\00:02:39.25 brings life and vitality to one of the driest, most inhospitable 00:02:39.29\00:02:43.22 places on earth. The area just comes alive. Join me on a 00:02:43.26\00:02:49.76 journey to central Australia to visit our smallest town, 00:02:49.80\00:02:53.27 largest cattle station and largest lake and to witness a 00:02:53.30\00:02:58.27 unique and amazing transformation as the water 00:02:58.31\00:03:01.54 flowing into Lake Eyre changes the country and brings green 00:03:01.58\00:03:06.01 luscious landscapes to the dry desert. And perhaps we'll 00:03:06.05\00:03:09.95 discover what water and especially the water of life 00:03:09.98\00:03:13.42 can do for us as well. 00:03:13.46\00:03:15.29 ¤ ¤ 00:03:15.32\00:03:34.54 You don't need a street map when you visit William Creek, the 00:03:34.58\00:03:36.91 the outback's smallest town. Everything is conveniently lined 00:03:36.95\00:03:41.95 up along its one and only street, the Oodnadatta track. 00:03:41.98\00:03:45.15 All the sightseeing attractions are found in a short distance in 00:03:45.19\00:03:49.56 the area between this hotel and the store. You don't have far to 00:03:49.59\00:03:53.83 walk to take it all in. Memorial Park offers displays of 00:03:53.86\00:03:59.77 some unusual means of transport that cover a period highlighting 00:03:59.80\00:04:04.37 mankind's progress in our methods of travel. There's an 00:04:04.41\00:04:08.38 old wooden wagon that was drawn by oxen or camels. Then there's 00:04:08.41\00:04:13.62 an old steam engine next to the remains of the historic Ghan 00:04:13.65\00:04:18.65 railway line that ran through the outback connecting Adelaide 00:04:18.69\00:04:21.39 and Darwin. And there's also the first stage of a rocket from the 00:04:21.42\00:04:26.16 adjoining Woomera Prohibited Area where British rockets were 00:04:26.19\00:04:29.66 launched in the 60s and tests were conducted to send a 00:04:29.70\00:04:34.17 satellite into orbit. You'll sure find the unexpected here in 00:04:34.20\00:04:38.51 William Creek. For example, would you expect to see a 00:04:38.54\00:04:42.34 parking meter in the middle of nowhere. Well there's one in 00:04:42.38\00:04:46.95 William Creek. The parking meter seems to be very odd in such a 00:04:46.98\00:04:51.12 remote place. However, it's for charity and collects donations 00:04:51.15\00:04:56.46 for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. This small town is 00:04:56.49\00:05:01.76 completely surrounded by Australia's largest cattle run, 00:05:01.80\00:05:05.00 Anna Creek Station. The Anna Creek homestead is 20 kilometers 00:05:05.03\00:05:09.50 from the town. Anna Creek Station covers an area of 24,000 00:05:09.54\00:05:15.28 square kilometers which is larger than some European 00:05:15.31\00:05:19.78 countries. Now to give you an idea of the enormous size of 00:05:19.81\00:05:22.65 this cattle property, it's two million acres, 1000 square 00:05:22.68\00:05:27.66 kilometers larger than it's nearest rival Alexandria Station 00:05:27.69\00:05:31.99 which is north of here in the country's northern territory. 00:05:32.03\00:05:35.50 It's over seven times the size of the United States' biggest 00:05:35.53\00:05:40.37 ranch, King Ranch in Texas. The property was originally 00:05:40.40\00:05:44.44 established in 1863, but moved to the William Creek location 00:05:44.47\00:05:48.14 in 1873 when the present homestead was built. Originally 00:05:48.18\00:05:54.78 the Anna Creek Station ran mainly sheep but due to constant 00:05:54.82\00:05:58.29 losses from dingo attacks they switched to cattle. In 1935, 00:05:58.32\00:06:04.03 station was bought by Australia's cattle king 00:06:04.06\00:06:06.66 Sydney Kidman who owned large areas of land across Australia 00:06:06.70\00:06:11.40 during his lifetime. Kidman was 13 when he ran away from his 00:06:11.43\00:06:16.40 home in Adelaide in 1870 with five shillings in his pocket and 00:06:16.44\00:06:20.81 a one-eyed horse he had bought with his savings. In his teen 00:06:20.84\00:06:25.15 years he worked as a drover, a stockman and live stock trader 00:06:25.18\00:06:28.68 and made money supplying services to new mining towns 00:06:28.72\00:06:32.45 springing up in the outback. Eventually he had enough to buy 00:06:32.49\00:06:39.36 station. He began acquiring one far after another until he was 00:06:39.39\00:06:43.93 the biggest land owner in the world by World War I. At one 00:06:43.97\00:06:48.54 point the size of Kidman's properties exceeded the size of 00:06:48.57\00:06:53.11 the United Kingdom and ran a herd of nearly 200,000 head of 00:06:53.14\00:06:58.75 cattle. Anna creek remained part of the Kidman cattle empire 00:06:58.78\00:07:02.02 until it was acquired by new owners in 2016. It's one of over 00:07:02.05\00:07:08.02 56 cattle stations in Australia whose size exceeds 5000 square 00:07:08.06\00:07:12.86 kilometers and one of 20 whose size exceeds 10,000 square 00:07:12.89\00:07:16.46 kilometers and one of four that exceeds 15,000 square kilometers 00:07:16.50\00:07:22.17 and the only one that exceeds 20,000 square kilometers. The 00:07:22.20\00:07:28.51 size and remoteness of these cattle stations determines the 00:07:28.54\00:07:32.11 way of life out here. Life is isolated. On some of the 00:07:32.15\00:07:36.55 stations the next human settlement is a day's drive away 00:07:36.58\00:07:40.56 Most of these outback cattle stations have their own airstrip 00:07:40.59\00:07:44.33 and the mail plane will deliver mail and supplies on a regular 00:07:44.36\00:07:49.40 basis. But they're more fortunate at Anna Creek because 00:07:49.43\00:07:53.64 the Coober Pedy/Oodnadatta one day mail run delivers mail 00:07:53.67\00:07:57.51 twice a week 00:07:57.54\00:07:58.87 and also brings a small amount of freight. Children don't go to 00:07:58.91\00:08:03.68 school on many of these large cattle stations. Their school is 00:08:03.71\00:08:08.32 the School of the Air. In the past the teaching medium was 00:08:08.35\00:08:12.52 radio. Today computers and satellites have replaced the 00:08:12.55\00:08:17.59 radios. But the title School of the Air still remains and it's 00:08:17.63\00:08:22.93 one of the icons of the outback. Any medical emergencies out here 00:08:22.96\00:08:27.60 are frightening because of the vast distances in the outback. 00:08:27.64\00:08:31.57 These remote cattle stations are a long way from hospitals and 00:08:31.61\00:08:36.14 medical expertise and so many of the stations depend on the 00:08:36.18\00:08:40.95 Royal Flying Doctor Service in medical emergencies. That's 00:08:40.98\00:08:45.55 their lifeline. The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia is 00:08:45.59\00:08:50.03 one of the largest and most comprehensive aeromedical 00:08:50.06\00:08:53.46 organizations in the world. It provides emergency and primary 00:08:53.50\00:08:58.20 health care services for the remote areas of Australia 00:08:58.23\00:09:02.17 including many of the cattle stations. There are a lot out 00:09:02.20\00:09:06.17 back stockmen and station hands who've been seriously injured 00:09:06.21\00:09:10.15 out here who owe their lives to the Royal Flying Doctor Service. 00:09:10.18\00:09:14.38 These cattle stations are so large and the grazing area so 00:09:14.42\00:09:20.92 spread out that it takes weeks to round up all the cattle 00:09:20.96\00:09:24.19 during the mustering season. Back in the old days, stockmen 00:09:24.23\00:09:27.66 used to ride out on horses to round up the cattle. A lot of 00:09:27.70\00:09:31.53 the mustering is still done on horseback because of the rugged 00:09:31.57\00:09:34.80 nature of the Australian outback however more and more stations 00:09:34.84\00:09:38.91 are now using helicopters, light aircraft, motor bikes and 00:09:38.94\00:09:43.48 quad bikes to help with rounding up the cattle. But horses are 00:09:43.51\00:09:48.22 still important to the operations of many of the large 00:09:48.25\00:09:51.49 outback cattle stations. Most of the large cattle stations 00:09:51.52\00:09:56.32 including Anna Creek still follow the traditional outback 00:09:56.36\00:09:59.69 style of farming cattle. It's a very natural way. The animals 00:09:59.73\00:10:04.73 are basically wild. They are born and grow up without any 00:10:04.77\00:10:10.64 human contact. They are grass fed and rarely require any 00:10:10.67\00:10:14.84 chemical treatment and there's plenty of room for them out here 00:10:14.88\00:10:18.61 on Anna Creek Station, over 24,000 square kilometers and 00:10:18.65\00:10:23.89 they sure need it. This area, the central region of the 00:10:23.92\00:10:28.19 Australian outback is so dry and the vegetation is so sparse that 00:10:28.22\00:10:33.50 a large amount of country is needed to support enough cattle 00:10:33.53\00:10:36.80 to make a living. Basically everything out here depends on 00:10:36.83\00:10:42.34 water. In drought years, the size of the herd at Anna Creek 00:10:42.37\00:10:47.31 station can drop below 5000, but in a good season when the floods 00:10:47.34\00:10:52.65 come, the rains fall and conditions improve the station 00:10:52.68\00:10:57.05 is capable of carrying over 17,000 head of cattle and this 00:10:57.09\00:11:03.46 is a good season. There's water. Finally the floods have come 00:11:03.49\00:11:08.80 from the north and that's evident by what is happening 00:11:08.83\00:11:10.27 near the Oodnadatta Track at Australia's largest lake, Lake 00:11:10.30\00:11:15.10 Eyre. Early European explorers to Australia were confident they 00:11:15.14\00:11:18.84 would find an inland sea in the middle of the dry continent. In 00:11:18.87\00:11:24.61 1914, Edward John Eyre was the first European to lay eyes on 00:11:24.65\00:11:29.18 the huge lake which now bears his name. But as for the inland 00:11:29.22\00:11:34.36 sea, well Lake Eyre was bone dry Today it's officially known as 00:11:34.39\00:11:42.46 Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre and to get there we've got to continue 00:11:42.50\00:11:46.84 our journey along the Oodnadatta Track. It's one of the most 00:11:46.87\00:11:50.91 historic outback trails in Australia. It follows an ancient 00:11:50.94\00:11:55.21 trading route used by aborigines for thousands of years that 00:11:55.24\00:11:59.48 follows a series of springs fed by the great artesian basin. 00:11:59.51\00:12:03.18 To cut a long story short rain falling on the great dividing 00:12:03.22\00:12:09.22 range over time travels halfway across the country via an 00:12:09.26\00:12:14.06 underground aquafer, porous rock sandwiched between layers 00:12:14.10\00:12:18.93 of nonporous rock. Where the aquafer bends up to meet the 00:12:18.97\00:12:23.24 earth's surface the water is released as springs and out here 00:12:23.27\00:12:27.64 water is life. These springs proved vital for the early 00:12:27.68\00:12:32.91 aborigines and later for early explorers and settlers. There 00:12:32.95\00:12:39.49 are many of these springs along the Oodnadatta Track and 00:12:39.52\00:12:41.59 throughout this dry region. These spring complexes often 00:12:41.62\00:12:46.63 have numerous active spring groups. One of these is Coward 00:12:46.66\00:12:50.23 Springs whose aboriginal name is peta culti culti. These springs 00:12:50.27\00:12:55.44 were a resting place for the aboriginal people as they 00:12:55.47\00:12:58.91 traveled north for trade. This chain of springs also provides 00:12:58.94\00:13:04.38 sustenance and water for the large variety of native wildlife 00:13:04.41\00:13:09.45 found in the region of the Oodnadatta Track. There are 00:13:09.48\00:13:11.82 kangaroos, wallabies, emus, sand goannas, bearded dragons, geckos 00:13:11.85\00:13:17.76 perentie lizards and several species of poisonous snakes. 00:13:17.79\00:13:22.66 Dingo's are found outside the dog fence. It's the longest 00:13:22.70\00:13:26.90 manmade structure in the world. It was built to protect sheep 00:13:26.94\00:13:31.11 from the marauding dingo's. It marks the boundary between 00:13:31.14\00:13:35.18 sheep and cattle country. Cattle are run to the north because 00:13:35.21\00:13:39.91 they can withstand dingo attacks The more vulnerable sheep are 00:13:39.95\00:13:44.52 run to the protected south. Water from the springs also 00:13:44.55\00:13:48.72 support the numerous different varieties of bird life found 00:13:48.76\00:13:52.46 throughout this dry region such as eagles, bustards or bush 00:13:52.49\00:13:57.30 turkeys, budgerigars, gallars, parrots and futures to name a 00:13:57.33\00:14:02.64 few. With these springs and others providing reliable water, 00:14:02.67\00:14:07.38 this became the main route north Then came the overland telegraph 00:14:07.41\00:14:12.78 followed by the great northern railway, later the Ghan. Finally 00:14:12.81\00:14:18.32 the Oodnadatta Track as we know it today. It's an unsealed 620 00:14:18.35\00:14:24.39 kilometer outback road passing from Maree in the southeast to 00:14:24.43\00:14:28.86 Marla in the northwest via Oodnadatta. Along the way the 00:14:28.90\00:14:33.64 track passes the settlement of William Creek on the southern 00:14:33.67\00:14:38.44 end of Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre. The sheer enormity of Lake Eyre 00:14:38.47\00:14:43.48 is mind blowing. This is Australia's largest lake and the 00:14:43.51\00:14:47.98 world's largest internally draining catchment. The rivers 00:14:48.02\00:14:52.49 that feed the lake cover an area of 1.2 million square kilometers 00:14:52.52\00:15:00.00 It's basin is so large that it crosses the borders of three 00:15:00.03\00:15:03.37 states and covers a sixth of Australia, about the size of 00:15:03.40\00:15:07.74 Spain. William Creek is the closest town to Lake Eyre and 00:15:07.77\00:15:13.41 the best vantage point for viewing the lake is 60 00:15:13.44\00:15:16.61 kilometers away at Halligan Bay. It's the lowest point in 00:15:16.64\00:15:20.82 Australia at 15 meters below sea level. Lake Eyre is divided into 00:15:20.85\00:15:27.19 two sections which are joined by the Goyder Channel. These are 00:15:27.22\00:15:32.93 known as Lake Eyre North, which is 144 kilometers in 00:15:32.96\00:15:36.26 length and 65 kilometers wide and Lake Eyre South which 00:15:36.30\00:15:41.07 measures 65 kilometers long and 24 kilometers wide. For most of 00:15:41.10\00:15:47.18 the time Lake Eyre is a dry salt lake. It's seemingly endless 00:15:47.21\00:15:52.21 expanse of shimmering salt crystals has lured explorers and 00:15:52.25\00:15:56.72 travelers over the years and still continues to do so today. 00:15:56.75\00:16:01.86 But four times a century, about every 25 years or so something 00:16:01.89\00:16:07.40 incredible happens. Cyclones and heavy rains in Queensland and 00:16:07.43\00:16:12.53 northern Australia send flood waters on a 1000 kilometer 00:16:12.57\00:16:16.94 journey south. Networks of channels, streams, and flood 00:16:16.97\00:16:23.68 plains including the Diamantina Georgina and Cooper Creek 00:16:23.71\00:16:28.38 catchment all converge and fill the 10,000 square kilometer 00:16:28.42\00:16:34.32 Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre. And when it fills the influx of water, of 00:16:34.36\00:16:41.00 birds and of life in general is one of the most spectacular 00:16:41.03\00:16:44.53 sights on earth. Lake Eyre transforms from parched desert 00:16:44.57\00:16:49.97 and salt flats to prosperous waterway. The water starts a 00:16:50.01\00:16:55.64 rare greening of the desert and brings life to an area that's 00:16:55.68\00:16:59.51 usually among the driest, most inhospitable places on earth. 00:16:59.55\00:17:03.92 The area just bursts into life. What a difference water makes. 00:17:03.95\00:17:10.09 The transformation that water brings to Lake Eyre and the 00:17:10.13\00:17:13.93 surrounding region is a reminder that water is one of 00:17:13.96\00:17:18.30 the most important substances on earth. It sustains and it 00:17:18.33\00:17:22.80 transforms. All plants and animals must have water to 00:17:22.84\00:17:29.34 survive. If there was no water there would be no life on planet 00:17:29.38\00:17:33.28 earth. And of course that includes us as well. Water is 00:17:33.31\00:17:38.55 essential to humans. Without water we can't survive. Water is 00:17:38.59\00:17:44.23 involved in every bodily function from digestion and 00:17:44.26\00:17:47.86 circulation through to the control of body temperature and 00:17:47.90\00:17:52.53 the excretion of waste products. Yes we all need water. And we've 00:17:52.57\00:17:59.17 all experienced the feeling of thirst and the relief that comes 00:17:59.21\00:18:03.48 from drinking water. And just as we have physical thirst that 00:18:03.51\00:18:08.18 can only be quenched by literal water so also we have spiritual 00:18:08.22\00:18:13.79 thirst that can only be quenched or satisfied by living water. 00:18:13.82\00:18:18.13 Consider for example the Samaritan woman. We don't know 00:18:18.16\00:18:22.86 her name or age but her conversation with Jesus is his 00:18:22.90\00:18:30.31 longest one-on-one conversation recorded in the Bible. That's a 00:18:30.34\00:18:35.61 good enough reason to give this woman from Samaria a closer look 00:18:35.64\00:18:37.88 Here's what happened. Jesus was traveling from Judea to Galilee. 00:18:37.91\00:18:42.42 On his way he passed through Samaria. Although this was the 00:18:44.69\00:18:47.99 fastest route it wasn't the only one. Most Jews would take the 00:18:48.02\00:18:52.23 longer route just to avoid the Samaritans. They hated the 00:18:52.26\00:18:56.67 Samaritans because although they in a sense shared a common 00:18:56.70\00:19:01.77 heritage the Samaritans had intermarried with the enemies of 00:19:01.80\00:19:05.87 the Jews and had corrupted their heritage and their beliefs. 00:19:05.91\00:19:08.38 So to the Jews the Samaritans were outcasts. But Jesus chose 00:19:08.41\00:19:17.85 deliberately to travel through Samaria. Why? Well as Jesus 00:19:17.89\00:19:22.79 became weary from his journey he came to a well and at Jacob's 00:19:22.82\00:19:28.36 well Jesus met a Samaritan woman whose life was in a downward 00:19:28.40\00:19:33.64 spiral. Five husbands and decades of loose living had left 00:19:33.67\00:19:38.71 their mark. But when she met Jesus that day her life would be 00:19:38.74\00:19:44.45 transformed, changed forever. This Samaritan woman went to the 00:19:44.48\00:19:50.09 well out of necessity. She went to get something she couldn't 00:19:50.12\00:19:53.56 live without, water. As she approached Jesus was there and 00:19:53.59\00:19:59.89 he asked her for a drink of water. Here's how the Bible 00:19:59.93\00:20:03.57 describes it in John chapter 4 verses 5-7: 00:20:03.60\00:20:07.80 Her response was filled with surprise as she questioned why 00:20:29.12\00:20:34.23 Jesus would break social norms and customs by talking to her. 00:20:34.26\00:20:38.67 As we've already noted, during this period it was culturally 00:20:38.70\00:20:43.44 unacceptable for Jews and Samaritans to have a 00:20:43.47\00:20:46.88 conversation in public, just as it was for men and women. Jesus 00:20:46.91\00:20:51.78 responded by telling her that if she knew who he was she would be 00:20:51.81\00:20:56.42 asking him for water because he alone provided living water. 00:20:56.45\00:21:02.12 Notice how the Bible records it in John chapter 4 and verse 10: 00:21:02.16\00:21:06.39 The woman was confused by Jesus' statement because it seemed 00:21:19.14\00:21:22.88 physically impossible. You see water from the well was still, 00:21:22.91\00:21:27.75 not living or flowing. So here's what Jesus told her. 00:21:27.78\00:21:32.95 It's recorded in John chapter 4 verses 13 and 14: 00:21:32.99\00:21:37.49 How wonderful! Water that will forever satisfy. A spring of 00:21:55.11\00:22:01.18 water leading to eternal life. The woman said essentially, yes 00:22:01.22\00:22:06.35 this is the water I want, living water. Jesus, the one who 00:22:06.39\00:22:11.99 forever quenches our 00:22:12.03\00:22:14.06 thirst, satisfies our souls and leads us into eternal life. 00:22:14.10\00:22:20.00 As this story continues it becomes obvious this woman 00:22:20.04\00:22:24.04 who had been seeking fulfillment, satisfaction, 00:22:24.07\00:22:27.11 significance, worth and value in the ways and things of the 00:22:27.14\00:22:32.88 world, but she was still thirsty You see the ways and things of 00:22:32.91\00:22:37.89 the world may have quenched her thirst for a moment but in the 00:22:37.92\00:22:42.59 end something was missing. She was still longing for living 00:22:42.62\00:22:46.73 water that would never run dry. As she encountered Jesus this 00:22:46.76\00:22:51.83 day she finally came face to face with the One who could give 00:22:51.87\00:22:57.14 her value, worth, satisfaction, fulfillment, joy and eternal 00:22:57.17\00:23:02.94 life. He was the One who could forever and always meet her 00:23:02.98\00:23:07.88 greatest needs and desires. He entered her life with a promise 00:23:07.92\00:23:12.79 of endless water and quenched thirst, a fresh start, a clean 00:23:12.82\00:23:17.63 slate, Jesus the living water. When this happened at this life 00:23:17.66\00:23:22.86 changing moment the woman left her water jar and returned to 00:23:22.90\00:23:27.90 town to tell the people about this man named Jesus. Isn't it 00:23:27.94\00:23:33.94 interesting that she left her water jar. On a spiritual level 00:23:33.98\00:23:38.58 she found something so much better. She didn't need a water 00:23:38.61\00:23:44.09 jar any longer because she had tasted the living water that 00:23:44.12\00:23:47.36 never runs dry. Due to this woman's testimony, the town 00:23:47.39\00:23:52.83 people came to see Jesus and many believed him. Jesus gave 00:23:52.86\00:23:58.93 this woman new story. No longer was she the woman known for 00:23:58.97\00:24:03.27 multiple husbands, but rather the woman who introduced her 00:24:03.30\00:24:07.48 neighbors to Jesus, the living water. Instead of being an 00:24:07.51\00:24:11.35 outcast or a hated Samaritan she was now an heir to God's 00:24:11.38\00:24:16.42 kingdom. Jesus gives all of us a new story, a story of hope, 00:24:16.45\00:24:22.66 joy and a great future despite our failures. His love runs 00:24:22.69\00:24:27.33 deeper than the scars of our failures. The story Jesus has 00:24:27.36\00:24:32.87 for you is so much greater than anything you could imagine and 00:24:32.90\00:24:37.57 so much more powerful than any failure. And remember this: 00:24:37.61\00:24:42.81 Jesus didn't view this woman as an outcast even though the 00:24:42.84\00:24:46.82 culture of her day labeled her as one. Rather, he saw her as 00:24:46.85\00:24:52.29 his created one, a child of God, one he loved deeply and called 00:24:52.32\00:24:57.13 into his family. Jesus knew everything about this woman and 00:24:57.16\00:25:02.56 yet he reached out to her, befriended her, gave her hope, 00:25:02.60\00:25:06.43 inner peace and happiness and eternal life. He gave her living 00:25:06.47\00:25:13.07 water. Yes, living water. Not like the water that flows into 00:25:13.11\00:25:17.55 Lake Eyre that only comes free every 25 years or so and even 00:25:17.58\00:25:22.42 then is soon gone. No, the living water that Jesus offers 00:25:22.45\00:25:27.02 isn't like that. This living water will satisfy forever, 00:25:27.06\00:25:33.19 quenches our thirst forever, satisfies our soul and leads us 00:25:33.23\00:25:37.73 into eternal life. So if you'd like to feel valued, if you want 00:25:37.77\00:25:43.30 true satisfaction and fulfillment, if you want to 00:25:43.34\00:25:46.34 experience inner peace and happiness, if you want living 00:25:46.37\00:25:50.91 water, Jesus, the one who forever quenches our thirst and 00:25:50.95\00:25:55.58 leads us into eternal life, then I'd like to recommend a free 00:25:55.62\00:25:59.52 gift we have for all our Incredible Journey viewers 00:25:59.55\00:26:03.36 today.
