Everybody gets their favorite. 00:01:31.59\00:01:36.32 Way back in 1849 a man named John Cadbury first created 00:01:36.36\00:01:42.86 a chocolate bar at his chocolate factory in Birmingham, England. 00:01:42.90\00:01:46.53 Today, 350 million bars of Cadbury's dairy milk chocolate 00:01:46.57\00:01:52.51 are sold every year. That's 1,200 bars a minute 00:01:52.54\00:01:57.21 and about a million bars a day and that's only one variety 00:01:57.25\00:02:02.08 of Cadbury Chocolate. 00:02:02.12\00:02:04.02 But the Cadbury family hasn't only shared chocolate 00:02:04.05\00:02:08.09 with the world, they've also shared something far more 00:02:08.12\00:02:11.36 important and that's justice, love, mercy, and humility 00:02:11.39\00:02:17.20 and they never go out of date. 00:02:17.23\00:02:19.53 Join us on a journey through the world of chocolate 00:02:19.57\00:02:23.47 as we follow the footsteps of John Cadbury, 00:02:23.51\00:02:26.61 his incredible story will surprise you and inspire you. 00:02:26.64\00:02:31.81 People have been enjoying Chocolate from as far back as 00:02:50.67\00:02:54.80 600 years B C. But apparently it was the Maya Indians 00:02:54.84\00:02:59.77 an ancient people whose descendants still live in 00:02:59.81\00:03:02.81 Central America who first discovered the likes of the 00:03:02.84\00:03:06.15 Cocoa drink around 1,200 years later in 600 AD. 00:03:06.18\00:03:10.82 The Mayan people lived on the Yucatan Peninsula, 00:03:10.85\00:03:15.59 a tropical area in what is now Southern Mexico where the 00:03:15.62\00:03:20.33 wild cocoa trees grew. 00:03:20.36\00:03:21.93 They discovered that the beans inside the cocoa pods 00:03:21.96\00:03:25.97 could be harvested and made into a liquid that became a 00:03:26.00\00:03:30.41 treasured Mayan treat. The use of the cocoa beans 00:03:30.44\00:03:34.98 to make this chocolate drink spread quickly through the 00:03:35.01\00:03:38.15 ancient Meso-Americas, Central and South America. 00:03:38.18\00:03:41.58 By the 1400's, the Aztec empire had conquered a sizable part 00:03:41.62\00:03:47.06 of Meso-America. Because the Aztec's wanted the cocoa pods 00:03:47.09\00:03:52.06 to make the treasured drink and they didn't grow the 00:03:52.09\00:03:54.76 cocoa trees themselves, they were forced to find a way 00:03:54.80\00:03:57.97 to get them. So they ordered all of the areas that grew 00:03:58.00\00:04:02.30 cocoa beans were to pay them as a tax or as the Aztec's 00:04:02.34\00:04:05.97 called it, a tribute. Soon the cocoa bean became a form of 00:04:06.01\00:04:11.01 currency in the region. 00:04:11.05\00:04:12.65 To make the drink, the cocoa beans were fermented, roasted 00:04:12.68\00:04:18.72 and then ground into a paste that was then mixed with water, 00:04:18.75\00:04:22.66 vanilla, honey, chili peppers, and other spices to make 00:04:22.69\00:04:27.30 a frothy chocolate drink. This drink was even included 00:04:27.33\00:04:30.83 in the daily rations for the Aztec soldiers. 00:04:30.87\00:04:33.84 So, how did the chocolate drink from Meso-America get to you? 00:04:33.87\00:04:39.41 Well, the famous Italian explorer who sailed for the 00:04:39.44\00:04:43.48 Spanish Court, Christopher Columbus discovered the Americas 00:04:43.51\00:04:47.92 and while there, he tasted this new drink and is believed 00:04:47.95\00:04:52.25 to have brought the first cocoa beans back to Europe from his 00:04:52.29\00:04:56.62 fourth visit to the new world between 1502 and 1504. 00:04:56.66\00:05:01.96 But it was the Spanish Conquistador Don Hernan Courtez 00:05:02.00\00:05:07.00 who first realized the first commercial value, 00:05:07.04\00:05:10.07 he brought cocoa beans back to Spain in 1528. 00:05:10.11\00:05:14.48 At first, the Spaniards used it as medicine to treat 00:05:14.51\00:05:18.71 illnesses such as abdominal pain because they thought the 00:05:18.75\00:05:22.22 bitterness had medicinal value. 00:05:22.25\00:05:24.75 Very gradually the custom of drinking chocolate spread across 00:05:24.79\00:05:29.56 Europe reaching England in the 1650's. 00:05:29.59\00:05:33.19 But once it was sweetened by the addition of sugar or honey 00:05:33.23\00:05:36.87 to counteract the natural bitterness, it was transformed, 00:05:36.90\00:05:40.77 it quickly became a court favorite with the royals 00:05:40.80\00:05:43.64 nobles and then popular throughout society. 00:05:43.67\00:05:47.04 First among the upper classes and then for everyone. 00:05:47.08\00:05:51.31 But the Mayan chocolate and the early European chocolate 00:05:51.35\00:05:57.49 are very different to the chocolate that we know today. 00:05:57.52\00:06:00.52 The creation of the first modern chocolate bar is credited to 00:06:00.56\00:06:05.46 Joseph Fry in Bristol, England. In 1847 Fry pressed a paste 00:06:05.49\00:06:11.10 made of cocoa powder and sugar into a bar shape, 00:06:11.13\00:06:14.80 this first chocolate bar became very popular. 00:06:14.84\00:06:19.17 Around this time about 160 km Northeast of Bristol 00:06:19.21\00:06:24.75 in Birmingham a young man, John Cadbury opened a 00:06:24.78\00:06:29.18 grocers shop at 93 Bull Street next to his father's Drapery 00:06:29.22\00:06:33.39 and Silk Shop in the then fashionable part of Birmingham. 00:06:33.42\00:06:37.53 He sold tea, coffee, cocoa, and drinking chocolate 00:06:37.56\00:06:42.33 that he prepared himself using a pedestal and mortar. 00:06:42.36\00:06:46.10 Being a devout Christian, he believed that alcohol was 00:06:46.13\00:06:50.27 harmful and kept many people in poverty so he wanted to 00:06:50.31\00:06:54.81 provide these chocolate drinks as an alternative to alcohol. 00:06:54.84\00:06:59.08 Like his father, John had a strong sense of social justice 00:06:59.11\00:07:04.25 in particular, he campaigned against child exploitation 00:07:04.29\00:07:09.19 as chimney sweeps and against animal cruelty. 00:07:09.22\00:07:12.99 But in order to tempt the masses away from alcohol 00:07:13.03\00:07:16.77 his chocolate needed to be mass produced so in 1831 00:07:16.80\00:07:22.94 Cadbury decided to start mass production on a commercial scale 00:07:22.97\00:07:27.34 and bought a four-story ware- house in near-by Crooked Lane. 00:07:27.38\00:07:31.61 The Cadbury manufacturing business was born. 00:07:31.65\00:07:36.08 By 1842, he was selling 16 different varieties of 00:07:36.12\00:07:40.46 drinking chocolate and 11 varieties of cocoas. 00:07:40.49\00:07:44.86 Business was booming and in 1847 Cadbury moved to larger 00:07:44.89\00:07:52.80 premises on a canal in Bridge Street in Central Birmingham. 00:07:52.83\00:07:56.54 The canal provided links to all the major ports in Britain. 00:07:56.57\00:08:00.68 Then in 1849 John Cadbury introduced his own brand 00:08:00.71\00:08:06.98 of the chocolate bar. By 1854 Cadbury had a royal warrant 00:08:07.02\00:08:13.86 to manufacture chocolate for Queen Victoria and first used 00:08:13.89\00:08:17.93 the color purple on his chocolate to honor 00:08:17.96\00:08:20.66 Queen Victoria. In 1861 John Cadbury retired and left 00:08:20.70\00:08:26.70 the chocolate business to his sons Richard and George. 00:08:26.74\00:08:29.70 John Cadbury devoted the rest of his life to civil and social 00:08:29.74\00:08:34.91 work in Birmingham until his death in 1889. 00:08:34.94\00:08:38.41 The Cadbury brothers continued to build and grow the family 00:08:38.45\00:08:42.68 business. By 1868 they were marketing boxes of chocolate 00:08:42.72\00:08:48.16 candies in England and by the 1870's they'd become 00:08:48.19\00:08:51.99 the most popular brand of chocolate in Britain. 00:08:52.03\00:08:54.83 Some of their other major achievements included the 00:08:54.86\00:08:59.40 creation of the first chocolate Easter Egg in 1875 00:08:59.43\00:09:03.47 and some years later on, the creation of the world-famous 00:09:03.51\00:09:07.48 block of Cadbury Milk Chocolate. This was the first time 00:09:07.51\00:09:12.41 that the British company had been able to mass produce 00:09:12.45\00:09:16.02 milk chocolate and it came in its distinctive purple wrapping. 00:09:16.05\00:09:20.46 In 1878 the brothers decided to relocate the chocolate factory 00:09:20.49\00:09:27.00 six kilometers outside of Birmingham at the Bourn. 00:09:27.03\00:09:30.70 Factories in Victorian England were usually dark, oppressive, 00:09:30.73\00:09:35.57 and unhealthy places to work. The Cadbury Brothers 00:09:35.60\00:09:38.91 revolutionized the production of chocolate were also at the 00:09:38.94\00:09:43.18 forefront of improving the working conditions of their 00:09:43.21\00:09:47.32 employees. The Cadbury family continued to be devout followers 00:09:47.35\00:09:52.92 of Jesus and his teachings, they were continually conscious of 00:09:52.95\00:09:56.66 Jesus Golden Rule, "Do unto others as you would like them 00:09:56.69\00:10:01.13 to do to you." And so they decided to put this guideline 00:10:01.16\00:10:04.97 into practice, they wanted the very best for their staff 00:10:05.00\00:10:09.07 including a friendly working environment, even if it meant 00:10:09.10\00:10:13.21 taking costly and innovative measures. 00:10:13.24\00:10:16.61 A move out of the city and into the country was unprecedented 00:10:16.64\00:10:22.08 of business of this time but George Cadbury wanted to build 00:10:22.12\00:10:26.65 a place full of green spaces where industrial workers could 00:10:26.69\00:10:30.63 thrive away from city pollution. 00:10:30.66\00:10:33.43 So he chose a new site that had a canal, train, and road 00:10:33.46\00:10:38.03 links and a good water supply, he called the new factory site 00:10:38.07\00:10:43.20 Bourneville. Working conditions in factories during the 00:10:43.24\00:10:48.01 Industrial Revolution were very poor, factory workers 00:10:48.04\00:10:52.35 usually lived within walking distance to the factory. 00:10:52.38\00:10:55.28 These new working places were able to underprice the cottage 00:10:55.32\00:11:00.26 industries, soon cottage workers migrated into the towns 00:11:00.29\00:11:05.59 in search of employment and contributed to the rise in 00:11:05.63\00:11:10.13 urban living. Until the late 19th century it was common 00:11:10.17\00:11:14.60 to work 12 hour days, six days a week. This included women 00:11:14.64\00:11:19.01 and even children as young as six years old. 00:11:19.04\00:11:21.78 Wages were low and families often struggled to make enough 00:11:21.81\00:11:26.38 money to keep bread on the table. 00:11:26.41\00:11:28.98 At Bournville the workers lived in far better conditions 00:11:29.02\00:11:34.19 than they had experienced in the crowded slums of the city. 00:11:34.22\00:11:37.69 The Cadbury Brothers built erratically innovative workplace 00:11:37.73\00:11:42.50 on 130 hectors, there were 314 houses with warm rooms 00:11:42.53\00:11:48.57 to dry clothes and kitchens to cook food. 00:11:48.60\00:11:51.84 The village had sporting fields and lily ponds and enough land 00:11:51.87\00:11:57.55 for each house to have a vegetable garden. 00:11:57.58\00:12:00.08 They even offered a retirement plan for the factory workers. 00:12:00.12\00:12:04.19 As the Cadbury's were Quakers, conservative Bible believing 00:12:04.22\00:12:09.19 Christians, there were no pubs or alcohol on the estate. 00:12:09.22\00:12:13.80 Even today the district around the original Cadbury factory 00:12:13.83\00:12:18.50 outside of Birmingham had been dry for over a century. 00:12:18.53\00:12:22.80 None of the local pubs, bars, or shops serve alcohol. 00:12:22.84\00:12:27.48 The pear tree from the original cottage garden still stands 00:12:27.51\00:12:32.18 outside the Cadbury reception at the Bournville Factory. 00:12:32.21\00:12:36.25 If you are making a chocolate cake, chances are you will buy 00:12:36.28\00:12:41.69 some Bournville Cocoa named after the place where the 00:12:41.72\00:12:45.09 factory is or you may even find some dark chocolate bars 00:12:45.13\00:12:48.66 with the Bournville brand at the closest supermarket. 00:12:48.70\00:12:52.70 After the 1st World War and in the same year the well-known 00:12:52.73\00:12:57.81 Cadbury flake was first produced there was a period of global 00:12:57.84\00:13:01.91 expansion and the Cadbury brothers began looking to build 00:13:01.94\00:13:06.25 a factory outside of England. In 1920 they chose a place 00:13:06.28\00:13:11.85 nearly 17,500 kilometers away on the other side of the world 00:13:11.89\00:13:17.36 in Tasmania, Australia. The new factory was called 00:13:17.39\00:13:23.50 The Cadbury Estate and was located on the banks of the 00:13:23.53\00:13:27.54 Darwin River in Claremont about 13 kilometers north of Hobart. 00:13:27.57\00:13:32.44 The 100 Hector property had and idyllic garden setting 00:13:32.47\00:13:37.15 with a cool climate, access to international and interstate 00:13:37.18\00:13:41.28 shipping and an eager workforce. 00:13:41.32\00:13:43.95 Production commenced in January 1922 and is still one of the 00:13:43.99\00:13:49.82 largest private employers in Tasmania, it has been able 00:13:49.86\00:13:54.30 to maintain a workforce of undoubted skill, experience 00:13:54.33\00:13:58.03 and loyalty and is a state of the art manufacturing operation. 00:13:58.07\00:14:03.07 Back in England, not far from the Bournville Chocolate Factory 00:14:03.10\00:14:08.24 was a prestigious boarding school for boys in 00:14:08.28\00:14:11.81 Repton, South Derbyshire, it was a place with a strict 00:14:11.85\00:14:15.48 environment as was usual at most boarding schools at the time. 00:14:15.52\00:14:20.12 According to one of its most famous students, 00:14:20.16\00:14:23.59 the golden years of chocolate were from 1930 to 1937. 00:14:23.63\00:14:28.90 Roald Dahl was 14 years old when he began as a student at 00:14:28.93\00:14:34.07 Repton 1930 and chocolate became Dahl's passion. 00:14:34.10\00:14:39.31 You see, every so often Cadbury would send each school boy 00:14:39.34\00:14:44.61 a sample box of new chocolates to taste and grade. 00:14:44.65\00:14:48.25 They were using the students as greatest chocolate bar 00:14:48.28\00:14:52.45 experts in the world to taste their new creations. 00:14:52.49\00:14:55.92 The boxes contained 12 chocolate bars wrapped in foil, 00:14:55.96\00:15:00.66 one control bar and 11 new flavors. 00:15:00.70\00:15:04.57 Dahl just loved the chocolate and as a young school student, 00:15:04.60\00:15:09.67 he fantasized about working in a chocolate inventing room 00:15:09.70\00:15:14.18 with pots of chocolate and fudge and all sorts of other 00:15:14.21\00:15:18.01 delicious things bubbling away on the stove. 00:15:18.05\00:15:21.32 The elaborate, often gigantic machines fascinated Dahl 00:15:21.35\00:15:26.45 and these ideas came back to him when he began writing his 00:15:26.49\00:15:30.73 famous books that have sold over 250 million copies. 00:15:30.76\00:15:36.43 During Dahl's childhood, the British firms Cadbury and 00:15:36.46\00:15:40.67 Roundtree became such vicious competitors that stories about 00:15:40.70\00:15:45.51 their secrecy and spying became the stuff of legend. 00:15:45.54\00:15:49.58 It became the inspiration for Roald Dahl's second book, 00:15:49.61\00:15:54.32 the world-famous Charley and the Chocolate Factory. 00:15:54.35\00:15:58.75 The chocolate spies that tried to steal Willie Wonka's 00:15:58.79\00:16:03.66 inventions for rival candy makers were not entirely 00:16:04.03\00:16:07.66 a product of Dahl's imagination. Competition among chocolatiers 00:16:07.70\00:16:12.40 was so fierce that companies sent spies posing as employees 00:16:12.43\00:16:17.77 to steal each other's innovations. Trade secrets were 00:16:17.81\00:16:22.08 guarded and employees were monitored for suspicious 00:16:22.11\00:16:26.25 activities. It was while writing this book that Dahl experienced 00:16:26.28\00:16:31.69 two of the biggest tragedies of his life. 00:16:31.72\00:16:34.42 The first occurred in 1960 when a taxi hit his son Theo 00:16:34.46\00:16:39.53 who was riding in a baby carriage, the child developed 00:16:39.56\00:16:43.30 hydrocephalus, a build-up of fluid in his brain cavity 00:16:43.33\00:16:47.34 that led to high fevers and temporary blindness. 00:16:47.37\00:16:51.54 Young Theo endured many operations and Dahl became an 00:16:51.57\00:16:57.51 active participant in Theo's recovery. 00:16:57.55\00:17:00.32 With the help of toymaker Stanley Wade and Theo's 00:17:00.35\00:17:03.95 neurosurgeon Kenneth Till, the trio developed a cerebral shunt 00:17:03.99\00:17:08.82 that helped to alleviate the condition. 00:17:08.86\00:17:11.23 It became known as the Wade\ Dahl\Till valve and assisted 00:17:11.26\00:17:16.40 many other children. 00:17:16.43\00:17:17.77 Just as Theo was recovering, Dahl's daughter Olivia came down 00:17:18.93\00:17:24.21 with measles which turned into measles encephalitis 00:17:24.24\00:17:28.34 she passed away not long after. 00:17:28.38\00:17:31.18 Dahl was devastated and is said to all but have lost his mind 00:17:31.21\00:17:36.89 with grief. And so, one of the world's best story tellers 00:17:36.92\00:17:41.06 for children Roald Dahl, dedicated one of his books, 00:17:41.09\00:17:47.23 Charley and the Chocolate Factory it his son Theo 00:17:47.26\00:17:49.06 and two of his books James and the Giant Peach and The B F G 00:17:49.10\00:17:54.70 to his daughter Olivia. 00:17:54.74\00:17:56.47 One of Dahl's daughters Athelia said her father ate chocolates 00:18:04.75\00:18:09.05 and sweets pretty much every mealtime. After dinner, Dahl 00:18:09.08\00:18:14.16 would pass around a little red box full of Mars Bars, Milky 00:18:14.19\00:18:18.99 Ways, Maltese's, Kit Kats, and other chocolates. 00:18:19.03\00:18:22.46 He knew the history of all the chocolates and could tell you 00:18:22.50\00:18:26.20 when they were invented. We may not know the dates 00:18:26.23\00:18:30.11 when the different chocolate bars were invented like Dahl did 00:18:30.14\00:18:33.61 but most of us know that giving chocolate has become a symbol 00:18:33.64\00:18:38.11 of friendship, love, and commitment and the Cadbury name 00:18:38.15\00:18:42.18 is known all over the world as a symbol of these qualities. 00:18:42.22\00:18:46.59 But the Cadbury Brothers were known for more than chocolate, 00:18:46.62\00:18:50.43 they were also pioneers in industrial relations 00:18:50.46\00:18:54.30 and employee welfare as well, as the company prospered, 00:18:54.33\00:18:58.30 new work practice ideas were implemented and additional 00:18:58.33\00:19:02.07 facilities were provided for the workforce. 00:19:02.10\00:19:04.74 Cadbury was the first firm to reduce working hours and 00:19:04.77\00:19:09.28 introduce the five and a half day working week. 00:19:09.31\00:19:11.75 He also campaigned against the exploitation of children 00:19:11.78\00:19:15.28 in the work-force, young employees were encouraged to 00:19:15.32\00:19:19.09 attend night school and were also allowed to leave work 00:19:19.12\00:19:22.32 early twice a week to gain an education. 00:19:22.36\00:19:25.63 When the new factory was built at Bournville, 00:19:25.66\00:19:29.00 it had many facilities which were unknown in Victorian times, 00:19:29.03\00:19:33.44 heated dressing rooms, kitchens for heating food, gardens, 00:19:33.47\00:19:38.77 extensive sports fields, and men's and women's swimming 00:19:38.81\00:19:43.14 pools. The sports facilities included football, hockey and, 00:19:43.18\00:19:47.88 cricket pitchers, tennis, and squash courts and a bowling 00:19:47.92\00:19:51.95 green. Country outings and summer camps were organized, 00:19:51.99\00:19:57.29 special workers fares were negotiated with the railway company and 16 houses 00:19:57.33\00:20:01.86 were built for senior employees. But he realized it was necessary 00:20:01.90\00:20:07.84 to care for people's spiritual needs as well as their physical 00:20:07.87\00:20:11.34 needs and so to preserve a family atmosphere and encourage 00:20:11.37\00:20:16.34 people to establish a relationship with Jesus Christ, 00:20:16.38\00:20:19.95 Cadbury started morning prayers and daily Bible readings in 00:20:19.98\00:20:25.59 1866, this practice continued for 50 years. 00:20:25.62\00:20:29.46 Why did John Cadbury and his sons seek to improve the 00:20:29.49\00:20:34.06 job opportunities and working conditions of their employees? 00:20:34.10\00:20:37.63 Why were they interested in their workers physical, mental, 00:20:37.67\00:20:42.30 and spiritual development and well-being? 00:20:42.34\00:20:44.24 Well, one of the reasons is that they were prominent members 00:20:44.27\00:20:48.58 of the Society of Friends or Quakers, a Bible believing 00:20:48.61\00:20:52.98 group of Christians. 00:20:53.01\00:20:54.35 Their strong Christian beliefs inspired them to assist factory 00:20:54.38\00:21:00.06 workers and the poor in society. Many Quaker run businesses 00:21:00.09\00:21:04.63 at the time were part of the social and industrial reforms 00:21:04.66\00:21:08.73 in Victorian, Brittan. John Cadbury himself had a lifelong 00:21:08.76\00:21:14.24 involvement with the Temperance Society, this was a group that 00:21:14.27\00:21:17.91 advocated the abstinence from alcohol. He believed that it was 00:21:17.94\00:21:22.94 one of the causes of poverty and deprivation among the working 00:21:22.98\00:21:26.82 people and this view influenced the direction of his business 00:21:26.85\00:21:31.75 enterprise, providing cocoa and chocolate as an alternative 00:21:31.79\00:21:35.89 to alcohol. One of the things John Cadbury did when he retired 00:21:35.92\00:21:41.00 was to begin a campaign against animal cruelty forming the 00:21:41.03\00:21:45.67 Animals Friends Society a fore- bearer of their royal society 00:21:45.70\00:21:50.11 for the prevention of cruelty to animals that provides 00:21:50.14\00:21:54.64 animal care and protection. The RSPCA as we know it now, 00:21:54.68\00:21:59.21 is still protecting animals today. 00:21:59.25\00:22:02.48 The Cadbury family were people who believed that actions 00:22:02.52\00:22:08.52 speak louder than words, they followed the simple yet profound 00:22:08.56\00:22:12.69 Bible principles found in Micah chapter 6 and verse 8. 00:22:12.73\00:22:17.37 Yes, these qualities are the very things the Cadbury family 00:22:27.81\00:22:32.15 has shared with the world and are still important today. 00:22:32.18\00:22:36.08 The high ideals and Christian legacy of the Cadbury family 00:22:36.12\00:22:41.09 are still visible in modern society. We still see efforts to 00:22:41.12\00:22:45.63 to create a just and equitable society, we see the better 00:22:45.66\00:22:50.17 conditions for factory workers, we see the RSPCA, 00:22:50.20\00:22:53.90 and we see the role of ambulance and medical units in war zones 00:22:53.94\00:22:58.07 all influenced by Christian principles and values. 00:22:58.11\00:23:03.24 And it's a reminder that our countries are the great nations 00:23:03.28\00:23:08.28 they are because of our Christian heritage 00:23:08.32\00:23:11.05 and if we are wise, we will value and protect 00:23:11.09\00:23:14.69 our Christian heritage so that future generations can enjoy 00:23:14.72\00:23:18.89 the family values, benefits, prosperity and freedoms 00:23:18.93\00:23:22.80 that Christianity brings. 00:23:22.83\00:23:25.37 But here's the good news, this Christian heritage and all the 00:23:25.40\00:23:29.40 blessings it brings isn't restricted to any one nation 00:23:29.44\00:23:33.27 or people, listen to what the Bible has to say in John 3:16. 00:23:33.31\00:23:38.95 This heritage is available to everyone regardless of 00:23:51.36\00:23:55.50 nationality and the freedom, prosperity, peace and happiness 00:23:55.53\00:24:00.54 that it brings nations it can also bring to each of us 00:24:00.57\00:24:03.97 as individuals. Yes, this Christian heritage, 00:24:04.01\00:24:07.61 knowing Jesus can change our lives and bring us personal 00:24:07.64\00:24:12.41 freedom, peace, and happiness. 00:24:12.45\00:24:14.55 If you'd like to claim this heritage, and experience true 00:24:14.58\00:24:18.82 peace and happiness, why not ask for it right now 00:24:18.85\00:24:22.22 as we pray. Dear Heavenly Father we thank you for your heritage 00:24:22.26\00:24:29.10 that allows us to enjoy the family values, benefits, 00:24:29.13\00:24:33.27 prosperity and freedoms that Christianity brings. 00:24:33.30\00:24:37.51 We acknowledge you and remember our Christian heritage with 00:24:37.54\00:24:41.84 humility and gratitude. And we thank you that in Jesus 00:24:41.88\00:24:46.21 each of us can find true, peace and happiness in our 00:24:46.25\00:24:50.35 personal lives. Lord, we pray that you will bless us 00:24:50.39\00:24:54.62 and grant us your peace, in Jesus name we pray. Amen. 00:24:54.66\00:25:00.73 Purple wrapped Cadbury chocolates are enjoyed by 00:25:03.73\00:25:06.87 millions of people around the world today. 00:25:06.90\00:25:09.44 The founder John Cadbury established a chocolate empire 00:25:09.47\00:25:14.18 worth over 20 billion dollars, but the Cadbury family 00:25:14.21\00:25:18.75 were known for more than just chocolate. 00:25:18.78\00:25:21.55 They were inspired by their Christian beliefs to promote 00:25:21.58\00:25:25.79 justice, love and mercy.
