Adventurer and Geologist Karl Mauch 00:00:24.39\00:00:27.66 could hardly believe his eyes as he and his party 00:00:27.69\00:00:30.43 exploring in the heart of Southern Africa stepped out of 00:00:30.46\00:00:34.33 the bush one day in 1871. Before him was one of the most stunning 00:00:34.36\00:00:40.44 ancient stone monuments in the world. 00:00:40.47\00:00:43.14 Scattered across the hill and valley in front of him was a 00:00:43.17\00:00:48.14 network of mysterious ruins, buildings, towers, and walls 00:00:48.18\00:00:52.85 all expertly worked in stone, they seemed hauntingly 00:00:52.88\00:00:58.09 out of place in a landscape who's only other architecture 00:00:58.12\00:01:02.12 was the simple timeless mud hut. 00:01:02.16\00:01:05.66 Mauch had stumbled upon the great Zimbabwe along abandoned 00:01:05.69\00:01:12.27 city of stone. It's the largest collection of ruins in Africa 00:01:12.30\00:01:17.37 south of the Sahara and testament to a culture 00:01:17.41\00:01:21.31 of immense wealth and great architectural skill. 00:01:21.34\00:01:24.71 All the towers and structures were built out of millions 00:01:24.75\00:01:29.82 of stones balanced perfectly on top of one another 00:01:29.85\00:01:33.66 without the aid of mortar. Great Zimbabwe is a masterpiece 00:01:33.69\00:01:38.86 of stone craftsmanship, but who built this mysterious 00:01:38.89\00:01:42.93 stone city? When was it built? Any why? 00:01:42.96\00:01:46.90 As Mauch wandered through the abandoned city and examined the 00:01:46.94\00:01:51.44 stone buildings, he was convinced, he had discovered 00:01:51.47\00:01:52.81 at last the legendry gold mines of King Solomon. 00:01:52.84\00:01:59.21 Join me on a journey into the heart of Southern Africa 00:01:59.25\00:02:02.58 as we explore this amazing kingdom of stone and discover 00:02:02.62\00:02:07.46 its secrets and you may be surprised at just 00:02:07.49\00:02:11.03 what we discover because we will uncover ancient messages 00:02:11.06\00:02:15.46 in stone that is relevant to us today. 00:02:15.50\00:02:18.13 It's a message that could bring you peace and change your life 00:02:18.17\00:02:24.27 forever. 00:02:24.31\00:02:25.97 The legend of King Solomon's gold mines has long haunted 00:02:40.86\00:02:47.30 the minds of Arabs and Europeans alike. 00:02:47.33\00:02:50.43 According to the Bible, King Solomon, the wise son of David 00:02:50.47\00:02:55.64 ruled in Jerusalem from 970 to 930 B.C., he was Israel's 00:02:55.67\00:03:02.04 third king and ruled during the nation's golden age, 00:03:02.08\00:03:05.95 Solomon was renowned for his wisdom and riches. 00:03:05.98\00:03:11.12 The crowning achievement of Solomon's illustrious reign 00:03:11.15\00:03:14.76 was the erection of a magnificent temple on 00:03:14.79\00:03:18.39 Temple Mount in Jerusalem, it was a monument to God 00:03:18.43\00:03:22.33 and a permanent home for the Sacred Ark of the Covenant. 00:03:22.36\00:03:26.03 Solomon spared no expense on this building. 00:03:26.07\00:03:30.51 In fact, Solomon's Temple was the most beautiful building 00:03:30.54\00:03:37.18 this world has ever seen, every- thing inside was gold 00:03:37.21\00:03:43.28 the dishes, bowls, lamps, lamp- stands and 500 shields 00:03:43.32\00:03:48.96 were all made of solid gold. 00:03:48.99\00:03:51.69 But that wasn't all, notice what the Bible says in 00:03:51.73\00:03:55.40 I Kings 6: 20- 30. 00:03:55.43\00:03:59.77 A golden temple, walk inside and all you would see was gold. 00:04:15.32\00:04:20.99 All the furniture was solid gold then the walls, the ceiling, 00:04:21.02\00:04:25.79 and even the floors were all covered with pure gold. 00:04:25.83\00:04:30.07 No wonder why many people believe Solomon's temple 00:04:30.10\00:04:33.77 was the most magnificent edifice ever built, a golden temple, 00:04:33.80\00:04:39.17 the idea is breathtaking. 00:04:39.41\00:04:41.84 King Solomon's Temple was a glory of gold. 00:04:41.88\00:04:46.35 By the end of his reign, it's estimated that Solomon had 00:04:46.38\00:04:50.89 accumulated over 500 tons of gold, today it would be worth 00:04:50.92\00:04:56.32 not billions, but trillions of dollars. 00:04:56.36\00:04:59.69 Well, the Bible provides a clue in I Kings 10 where it 00:05:08.97\00:05:13.61 tells of the Queen of Sheba's royal visit to Jerusalem 00:05:13.64\00:05:16.71 to meet King Solomon. Now not only was Solomon renowned for 00:05:16.75\00:05:21.52 his wisdom and riches but it was also a man of charm and romance. 00:05:21.55\00:05:27.19 The Queen of Sheba heard reports of Solomon's great wisdom 00:05:27.22\00:05:31.33 and went to investigate. He surpassed her every expectation, 00:05:31.36\00:05:36.36 she gave him a large quantity of gold as well as precious 00:05:36.40\00:05:40.97 stones and spices. The gift of gold amounted to 120 talents 00:05:41.00\00:05:47.31 roughly 20 tons, Solomon was also captivated by the 00:05:47.34\00:05:52.65 Queen's visit and gave her all that she desired, whatever 00:05:52.68\00:05:56.32 she asked for and the two ended into trade agreements 00:05:56.35\00:06:00.62 between their two countries. 00:06:00.66\00:06:02.29 As a result, Solomon's Navy, his ships brought gold 00:06:02.32\00:06:07.90 from the land of Ophir. 00:06:07.93\00:06:09.33 Notice what the Bible says in I Kings chapter 10. 00:06:09.36\00:06:13.64 So we're told that all this gold came from the land of Ophir 00:06:36.99\00:06:41.60 but that's where the clues stop and the trail goes cold. 00:06:41.63\00:06:45.43 Out of this mystery grew the legend that was to obsess 00:06:45.47\00:06:49.90 that adventurers, explorers, and treasure hunters 00:06:49.94\00:06:52.67 for centuries and drive the search for King Solomon's 00:06:52.71\00:06:57.55 fable gold mines. 00:06:57.58\00:06:59.81 The Dutch, the Portuguese, and Arab traders conducted 00:06:59.85\00:07:04.62 unsuccessful expeditions to find the legendary gold mines 00:07:04.65\00:07:08.76 of Ophir. Finally in 1871 a young German Adventurer and 00:07:08.79\00:07:14.00 Geologist called Karl Mauch, set off into the interior 00:07:14.03\00:07:18.03 of Africa in search of the mysterious gold mines 00:07:18.07\00:07:22.10 of King Solomon. His search led him here to the great Zimbabwe. 00:07:22.14\00:07:27.64 Scattered across the hill and valley in front of him 00:07:27.68\00:07:31.05 was a network of stone ruins, these edifices were expertly 00:07:31.08\00:07:37.15 constructed in stone and seem so out of place in a land where 00:07:37.19\00:07:42.16 mud huts were the norm. He realized that he had stumbled 00:07:42.19\00:07:47.03 upon something amazing, the mystery of the place was almost 00:07:47.06\00:07:51.93 palpable, an eerie silence brooded over the stone wonder 00:07:51.97\00:07:57.97 before him. Beneath that wall of silence and here at the 00:07:58.01\00:08:02.91 heart of the ruins Mauch found a huge enclosure with 00:08:02.94\00:08:06.92 granite walls 11 meters high and 7 meters thick in places. 00:08:06.95\00:08:11.65 This stone enclosure was known to the local natives as 00:08:11.69\00:08:16.42 Mumba-Hulu, or "the house of the great woman," 00:08:16.46\00:08:21.33 and it didn't take Mauch long to succumb to his own 00:08:21.36\00:08:25.27 wishful thinking and jump to the conclusion that the 00:08:25.30\00:08:28.94 great woman must be the legendary Queen of Sheba. 00:08:28.97\00:08:33.27 Then of course great Zimbabwe by the same stretch of the 00:08:33.31\00:08:38.95 imagination must have been the capitol of the Kingdom of Ophir 00:08:38.98\00:08:42.82 and the site of the fabled gold mines of Israel's King Solomon. 00:08:42.85\00:08:48.62 But Mauch was wrong, as were a host of other later explorers 00:08:48.66\00:08:55.03 and historians who believed that black Africans could never 00:08:55.06\00:08:59.77 could have constructed as elaborate as the Great Zimbabwe. 00:08:59.80\00:09:03.84 However, the truth is that great Zimbabwe had once been the 00:09:03.87\00:09:09.14 trading and religious capitol of a great black African empire. 00:09:09.18\00:09:13.52 In fact, parts of it were built as early as the second or third 00:09:13.55\00:09:17.99 century A.D. by the ancestors of the very natives who first led 00:09:18.02\00:09:23.06 Karl Mauch to the site. 00:09:23.09\00:09:25.09 Over a period of more than a thousand years, great Zimbabwe 00:09:25.13\00:09:29.86 grew and developed into the magnificent capital on an 00:09:29.90\00:09:34.14 African kingdom, it consisted of ceremonial shrines, 00:09:34.17\00:09:38.47 royal palaces, passageways, granaries and forts. 00:09:38.51\00:09:43.24 During the Medieval period, the central ruins and surrounding 00:09:43.28\00:09:46.92 valley would have supported a population upwards to 20,000 00:09:46.95\00:09:50.99 and was one of the most signifigant civilizations 00:09:51.02\00:09:54.59 in the world with trading links stretching as far away as 00:09:54.62\00:09:58.43 India, Persia, and China. 00:09:58.46\00:10:01.10 No way in this great stone complex was there a straight 00:10:03.60\00:10:08.64 wall or a right angle and nowhere was any mortar used 00:10:08.67\00:10:13.14 to bind the granite rocks together or the towers and 00:10:13.17\00:10:16.64 structures were built out of millions of stones balanced 00:10:16.68\00:10:20.98 perfectly on top of one another with out the aid of mortar. 00:10:21.02\00:10:25.25 Great Zimbabwe is a masterpiece of stone craftmanship, 00:10:25.29\00:10:29.56 the ruins of the complex are divided into three main sections 00:10:29.59\00:10:33.33 the Great Enclosure, the Valley Ruins, and the Hill Fortress. 00:10:33.36\00:10:37.83 The Great Enclosure, a massive oval shape structure 00:10:37.87\00:10:43.94 is the heart of the complex. 00:10:43.97\00:10:46.34 This apparently was the palace of the Great Chief 00:10:46.37\00:10:50.15 who ruled this kingdom of stone. The Great Enclosure is the 00:10:50.18\00:10:55.15 largest single ancient structure in Africa south of the 00:10:55.18\00:10:59.05 Sahara Desert. The outer wall is about 250 meters long 00:10:59.09\00:11:04.09 and in places it's 11 meters high and 7 meters wide. 00:11:04.13\00:11:08.90 Fifteen thousand tons of granite was used to construct the 00:11:08.93\00:11:13.37 great enclosure and again, no mortar was used 00:11:13.40\00:11:17.17 to hold any of the granite blocks together. 00:11:17.21\00:11:19.81 They were laid in brick-like courses and fitted together 00:11:19.84\00:11:23.88 with precision and sometimes capped with decorative 00:11:23.91\00:11:27.68 Chevron-shaped border designs. 00:11:27.72\00:11:30.25 The valley ruins consist of scattered stone efficacies 00:11:30.29\00:11:36.62 as well as a large number of mounds that are the remains of 00:11:36.66\00:11:40.50 earthen and brick structures that may have once have rivaled 00:11:40.53\00:11:44.20 the stone buildings in grandeur. 00:11:44.23\00:11:46.30 The valley complex is where the citizens lived and was possibly 00:11:46.33\00:11:47.67 the busiest part of the stone city. Beyond the valley ruins, 00:11:47.70\00:11:55.51 the Hill Fortress is located on top of a steep sided 00:11:55.54\00:12:00.22 100 meter high hill, it's the oldest section of the complex, 00:12:00.25\00:12:04.69 and in early times was a place of refuge and used as a 00:12:04.72\00:12:08.66 fortress. In times of danger and when under threat the citizens 00:12:08.69\00:12:13.50 would have found safety in the hill fortress 00:12:13.53\00:12:16.23 later, it developed into more of a ceremonial and 00:12:16.26\00:12:20.70 religious center. The Hilltop Fortress is reached by climbing 00:12:21.74\00:12:26.21 a narrow twisting stairway that squeezes between outcrops 00:12:26.24\00:12:30.18 of natural rock and allows only one person at a time to pass. 00:12:30.21\00:12:34.68 This would have made the fort easier for the inhabitants 00:12:34.72\00:12:38.39 to defend when attacked. 00:12:38.42\00:12:40.56 Near the summit, there is a wall with four towers 00:12:44.29\00:12:48.53 that give the appearance of a traditional fortification. 00:12:48.56\00:12:51.97 From here the inhabitants could look down into the valley 00:12:52.00\00:12:55.27 below and keep an eye on approaching danger. 00:12:55.30\00:12:58.67 On the summit of the hill, there are stone wall and towers 00:13:03.91\00:13:07.32 that creep from rock to rock and create a labyrinth 00:13:07.35\00:13:10.65 of enclosures. The defenders incorporated natural 00:13:10.69\00:13:14.29 granite boulders and rectangular blocks to form walls 00:13:14.32\00:13:18.43 up to six meters thick and 11 meters high. 00:13:18.46\00:13:21.50 Within the wall there are remains of urban structures 00:13:21.53\00:13:25.60 which may have been houses for soldiers or priests. 00:13:25.63\00:13:28.90 Because of the security provided by the hill fortress, 00:13:28.94\00:13:32.47 it was considered a royal city and was the residence of 00:13:32.51\00:13:36.58 successive chiefs. The kings kept many of their treasures 00:13:36.61\00:13:40.52 here including eight carved sandstone birds which were 00:13:40.55\00:13:44.85 discovered nearby. The Hilltop Fort's narrow partly covered 00:13:44.89\00:13:49.72 passageways and high walls provided safety in times 00:13:49.76\00:13:53.83 of danger and a secure place to store the royal treasures. 00:13:53.86\00:13:58.63 But this hilltop fortress couldn't save this kingdom 00:13:58.67\00:14:05.24 of stone, it's king and it's citizens. 00:14:05.27\00:14:09.24 This civilization disappeared and left no record of a 00:14:09.28\00:14:14.98 written language behind which makes great Zimbabwe 00:14:15.02\00:14:18.65 the "Kingdom of Stone," one of the truly lost civilizations 00:14:18.69\00:14:23.66 of the world. But it did leave a message behind, 00:14:23.69\00:14:27.20 "an important one." Yes, this hilltop fortress carved out of 00:14:27.23\00:14:32.50 stone carries an important message for us today 00:14:32.53\00:14:36.04 it's a reminder that down through history cities and 00:14:36.07\00:14:40.88 civilizations needed a place of safety. A place where citizens 00:14:40.91\00:14:45.71 could find refuge and safety in time of danger. 00:14:45.75\00:14:49.88 But it's not only ancient cities that need a fortress, 00:14:49.92\00:14:56.93 a place of refuge, we do too, yes, we need a fortress, 00:14:56.96\00:15:04.13 a place of refuge where we can find true peace and safety 00:15:04.17\00:15:09.04 in times of stress and danger. 00:15:09.07\00:15:11.41 We too need a fortress that is strong, reliable, and enduring. 00:15:11.44\00:15:17.08 Because let's face it, we all have our challenges, 00:15:17.11\00:15:20.78 it may be panic or stress over work deadlines, or bills 00:15:20.82\00:15:25.35 we are struggling to pay. It maybe relationship conflicts 00:15:25.39\00:15:29.12 or ill health, it may be the betrayal of a friend 00:15:29.16\00:15:32.69 or the loss of a job. It may be physical or spiritual battles. 00:15:32.73\00:15:37.07 When things like this happen, we need a refuge, 00:15:37.10\00:15:41.04 a place of safety and so we all have our own fortresses 00:15:41.07\00:15:46.31 that we run to when we have overwhelming circumstances. 00:15:46.34\00:15:50.45 These fortresses can take the shape of people or 00:15:50.48\00:15:54.85 relationships, they could also be material things in our lives 00:15:54.88\00:15:58.45 that we think will bring us happiness and take our minds off 00:15:58.49\00:16:01.99 our problems and difficulties. 00:16:02.02\00:16:03.83 But sadly, all too often these fortresses let us down 00:16:03.86\00:16:09.53 and fail us particularly when we need them most. 00:16:09.56\00:16:13.84 If you've had an experience like that or are looking for 00:16:13.87\00:16:18.21 a fortress that you can depend on, a fortress that will 00:16:18.24\00:16:21.54 always protect you and never let you down regardless of who 00:16:21.58\00:16:25.98 or what is attacking you, then I'd like to recommend 00:16:26.01\00:16:30.09 the one true fortress that will always protect you. 00:16:30.12\00:16:33.79 The fortress that will never let you down... 00:16:33.82\00:16:36.49 Notice what the Bible says in Psalm 91: 1, 2. 00:16:36.52\00:16:41.66 Yes, the Bible talks about a fortress too, it says that 00:16:50.37\00:16:54.71 God is like a fortress, He is strong and reliable, that's how 00:16:54.74\00:17:00.05 God is and because He is so strong, He can keep us safe. 00:17:00.08\00:17:04.59 Things can attack but the walls will howl. 00:17:04.62\00:17:08.39 God protects us and gives us a safe place to hide when we're 00:17:08.42\00:17:13.19 afraid, attacked or threatened. 00:17:13.23\00:17:15.23 When we trust in God, He becomes our safe place. 00:17:15.26\00:17:20.37 So, next time you are in trouble run to Fort God, 00:17:20.40\00:17:24.81 He will save you and protect you. 00:17:24.84\00:17:28.04 That's what Martin Luther did, he was a priest who lived in 00:17:28.08\00:17:31.41 Germany 500 years ago, back in the 16th century. 00:17:31.45\00:17:34.98 He began to read and study the Bible and he realized 00:17:35.02\00:17:39.89 that the Medieval Church had departed from the Bible 00:17:39.92\00:17:44.13 and the teachings of Jesus. The church had fallen away 00:17:44.16\00:17:48.73 from truths of the Bible, this really concerned Luther 00:17:48.76\00:17:52.87 and so he publicly disagreed with the corruption and 00:17:52.90\00:17:57.21 false teaching that had infiltrated the church. 00:17:57.24\00:17:59.87 Martin Luther then took a bold and dangerous step, 00:17:59.91\00:18:04.95 he nailed a paper to the door of the Cathedral where he lived 00:18:04.98\00:18:08.55 in Wittenberg, Germany. On the paper, he had written 00:18:08.58\00:18:12.82 ninety-five complaints against the corruptions and false 00:18:12.85\00:18:16.29 teachings of the church, it's known as the 95 Theses. 00:18:16.32\00:18:21.46 It went down in History as the beginning of the 00:18:21.50\00:18:25.03 Protestant Reformation. The protests that were written 00:18:25.07\00:18:28.70 that day for the public to see, began the most dramatic reform 00:18:28.74\00:18:33.21 within Christianity and it didn't take long after the 00:18:33.24\00:18:37.41 appearance of the 95 Theses these complaints for discontent 00:18:37.45\00:18:42.25 to grow into conflict. 00:18:42.28\00:18:43.99 Some Christians wanted to change and follow the Bible, 00:18:46.29\00:18:50.06 and some didn't. Some even said that Martin Luther should be 00:18:50.09\00:18:53.93 burned alive because he wanted to follow the teachings of the 00:18:53.96\00:18:57.93 Bible, he was declared a heretic and an outlaw to be captured 00:18:57.97\00:19:02.47 and killed on-site. He was in real danger, he faced years 00:19:02.50\00:19:07.31 of trials and persecution. Fearing for Martin Luther's 00:19:07.34\00:19:10.95 safety, a sympathetic friend led him into the protection 00:19:10.98\00:19:14.95 of his fort, his castle, and it was in this fortress that 00:19:14.98\00:19:19.65 Martin Luther reaffirmed the strength and comfort 00:19:19.69\00:19:22.09 of a mighty God. While hiding away, he continued reading 00:19:22.12\00:19:27.00 and studying his Bible and the words of Psalm 46 00:19:30.67\00:19:34.67 came alive and vibrant for him. Here's what it says in 00:19:34.70\00:19:36.04 Psalm 46: 1,2. 00:19:36.07\00:19:37.47 Those words inspired him to write one of the most famous 00:19:51.42\00:19:55.36 tunes of our time, "A Mighty Fortress is our God." 00:19:55.39\00:19:59.89 It was a bold affirmation of our powerful and loving God. 00:19:59.93\00:20:04.93 Listen to the words of the first verse. 00:20:04.97\00:20:07.44 The four verses form a single continuous hole that 00:20:30.53\00:20:35.93 progressively tells of the Christian journey 00:20:35.96\00:20:37.90 through this world. 00:20:37.93\00:20:39.27 It covers the full sweep of the Christian's life, 00:20:39.33\00:20:42.27 the song declares our absolute reliance on God 00:20:42.30\00:20:46.68 and His absolute power over the forces of darkness. 00:20:46.71\00:20:50.38 A Might Fortress became a rallying cry for the reformation 00:20:50.41\00:20:56.99 and a source of great strength for the common people. 00:20:57.02\00:21:00.82 It was sung in the streets, it was sung by poor Protestant 00:21:00.86\00:21:05.19 immigrants on their way into exile, and by martyr's at their 00:21:05.23\00:21:09.16 death. It's been translated into nearly every language 00:21:09.20\00:21:13.47 and 500 years later it's still a source of comfort for many 00:21:13.50\00:21:18.11 people today. A Might Fortress is our God gives us hope amidst 00:21:18.14\00:21:23.91 the struggles of life, the words still ring true today when 00:21:23.95\00:21:28.65 the storms of life blowing around us, we can find refuge 00:21:28.68\00:21:32.75 in the Mighty Fortress of our God. 00:21:32.79\00:21:36.02 The words of Martin Luther's hymn also remind us that we're 00:21:36.06\00:21:42.00 in the midst of a Great Controversy, 00:21:42.03\00:21:43.93 the universal wall between good and evil. 00:21:43.97\00:21:46.94 We're reminded that our ancient foe, the Devil constantly 00:21:46.97\00:21:51.81 strives to bring us down and haven't we all experienced 00:21:51.84\00:21:55.78 the harshness of Satan's attacks? 00:21:55.81\00:21:58.58 He often strikes at our weakest point telling us lies and 00:21:58.61\00:22:02.82 tempting us to give in to despair and sin, 00:22:02.85\00:22:05.89 he's a formidable enemy. 00:22:05.92\00:22:08.29 But here's the good news, he's also a defeated enemy, 00:22:08.32\00:22:12.39 he's doomed and in the words of a Mighty Fortress, 00:22:12.43\00:22:16.80 we find assurance that Satan won't triumph. Let's remember 00:22:16.83\00:22:22.17 we're on the right side in this great conflict, 00:22:22.20\00:22:24.91 we will WIN the battle, but not because our own strength, 00:22:24.94\00:22:29.08 as the hymn so eloquently says, our striving would be losing 00:22:29.11\00:22:34.48 NO, the victory is ours only when we take refuge in our 00:22:34.52\00:22:40.86 Might Fortress Jesus Christ. 00:22:40.89\00:22:43.36 So the next time you are surrounded by life's stormy 00:22:43.39\00:22:47.86 weather, when you feel under attack, when you feel fear 00:22:47.90\00:22:51.93 or pain, or disappointment, when your circumstances seem 00:22:51.97\00:22:56.20 about to overwhelm you, remember, there is a safe place, 00:22:56.24\00:23:02.58 a shelter from harm. God is your fortress, a safe place above the 00:23:02.61\00:23:08.05 dangers of life, high above your enemies, God know all about the 00:23:08.08\00:23:12.65 challenges you are facing, He has a safe place for you 00:23:12.69\00:23:16.49 and His protection is limitless. 00:23:16.52\00:23:19.66 Notice what the Bible says in Nahum 1:7. 00:23:19.69\00:23:32.91 Yes, God knows all about you and wants to protect you 00:23:34.01\00:23:38.48 so if you feel like you are fighting every battle alone, 00:23:38.51\00:23:42.55 and need a place of refuge. Remember God is your protection 00:23:42.58\00:23:47.82 and strength in your time of need. And remember the words 00:23:47.86\00:23:51.89 of our hymn instead of trying to win the battle with your 00:23:51.93\00:23:55.96 own feeble efforts, turn instead to the mighty fortress. 00:23:56.00\00:24:00.57 When you put your struggles in the hands of God, 00:24:00.60\00:24:03.71 you can be confident that you'll survive the battle. 00:24:03.74\00:24:07.54 Why not decide to call on Him, the mighty fortress today 00:24:07.58\00:24:13.31 as we pray. 00:24:13.35\00:24:14.92 Our Dear Heavenly Father, You are our savior and deliverer, 00:24:14.95\00:24:20.99 You are our refuge and our place of safety. 00:24:21.02\00:24:25.56 We are so grateful that you are a powerful God, a mighty 00:24:25.59\00:24:30.87 fortress and that in our times of trouble and during the storms 00:24:30.90\00:24:35.34 of life, we can find safety and refuge in you. 00:24:35.37\00:24:38.31 You are bigger than anything that comes against us 00:24:38.34\00:24:41.98 or anything that rages within us. we commit our lives to You 00:24:42.01\00:24:47.15 and pray for Your continued blessing and guidance in 00:24:47.18\00:24:50.32 our lives, and we ask this in Jesus name, Amen. 00:24:50.35\00:24:55.92 The great Zimbabwe is one of the most stunning ancient 00:25:00.90\00:25:05.03 monuments in the world, it's the largest collection of ruins 00:25:05.07\00:25:08.97 in Africa, south of Sahara. 00:25:09.00\00:25:11.54 All the towers and structures were build out of millions 00:25:11.57\00:25:15.74 of stones balanced perfectly on top of one another 00:25:15.78\00:25:19.21 without the aid of mortar. 00:25:19.25\00:25:21.05 The Great Zimbabwe uncovers an ancient message in stone that's 00:25:21.08\00:25:26.35 relevant to us today.
