" 00:05:13.31\00:05:15.04 We get to verse 5 and it says, 00:05:15.08\00:05:16.95 "Each one shall bear his own load. " 00:05:16.98\00:05:19.41 Well, what is it? 00:05:19.45\00:05:21.25 In the Greek in verse 2 when it says, 00:05:21.28\00:05:24.62 "Bear one another's burdens... " 00:05:24.65\00:05:26.29 it is speaking of an overwhelming heavy load... 00:05:26.32\00:05:32.09 a crushing load and what God is calling us to do 00:05:32.13\00:05:36.56 is, we need to help people who can't carry that load? 00:05:36.60\00:05:39.77 We need to help them through their major difficulties 00:05:39.80\00:05:42.97 whether it is physical... financial or even a spiritual 00:05:43.00\00:05:47.48 and this is how we fulfill the love... the law of God. 00:05:47.51\00:05:51.88 Love fulfills the Law of God. 00:05:51.91\00:05:53.95 But verse 5, when it says, 00:05:54.02\00:05:55.98 "Each one shall bear his own load. " 00:05:56.05\00:05:57.79 That's for normal routine obligations of life. 00:05:57.82\00:06:02.29 So, I believe that this is the counsel I would give you. 00:06:02.32\00:06:05.99 It is very important that people learn how to budget... 00:06:06.06\00:06:09.66 how to save for emergencies... 00:06:09.70\00:06:11.57 how to save for retirement 00:06:11.60\00:06:13.40 and the Bible says, 00:06:13.44\00:06:15.34 Paul said in 2nd Thessalonians 3:10, 00:06:15.37\00:06:17.64 somebody doesn't work... they don't eat 00:06:17.71\00:06:19.84 and sometimes we when quote the fourth commandment... 00:06:19.87\00:06:23.75 we put the emphasis on the day of rest 00:06:23.78\00:06:26.28 but that commandment says, "Six days you shall labor... " 00:06:26.31\00:06:29.28 so, God is instructing us to be ready... 00:06:29.32\00:06:32.72 willing to help those who are in desperate need 00:06:32.75\00:06:35.62 but He expects us to be very wise with our resources. 00:06:35.66\00:06:43.87 Proverbs 21:5... "The plans of the diligent 00:06:43.93\00:06:48.10 lead surely to plenty, 00:06:48.14\00:06:50.91 but those of everyone who is hasty, 00:06:50.97\00:06:54.44 surely to poverty. " 00:06:54.48\00:06:55.94 Sounds like your relatives are being hasty. 00:06:55.98\00:06:59.05 There is a difference between helping them 00:06:59.08\00:07:02.22 and enabling them 00:07:02.25\00:07:03.59 and you need to draw a healthy boundary... 00:07:03.62\00:07:06.89 learn how to say, "No. " 00:07:06.92\00:07:08.86 Ricky: Amen, amen, thank you, Sister Shelley. 00:07:08.89\00:07:11.46 All right, Brother Ryan, you got the next question here: 00:07:11.49\00:07:15.53 Please explain these two sets of Scripture 00:07:15.56\00:07:20.40 Matthew 23 verse 27 00:07:20.44\00:07:23.57 and Acts 23 verses 2 and 3. 00:07:23.61\00:07:26.84 Ryan: All right, well, let's go ahead and read the text, 00:07:26.91\00:07:28.91 and then I'll explain them 00:07:28.94\00:07:30.28 because actually the Bible explains itself, right? 00:07:30.31\00:07:32.51 I love that because we can follow the rule and say, 00:07:32.55\00:07:35.28 "Lord, I don't have to come up with some answer 00:07:35.32\00:07:37.95 off the top of my head 00:07:38.05\00:07:39.39 because the Bible gives us the answer 00:07:39.42\00:07:40.76 so, let's go to Matthew 23 and read verse 27, 00:07:40.79\00:07:43.26 Jesus is speaking to the true scribes and Pharisees 00:07:43.29\00:07:45.63 and He says to them, 00:07:45.66\00:07:47.00 "Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! 00:07:47.03\00:07:49.50 For you are like whitewashed tombs 00:07:49.53\00:07:51.57 which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, 00:07:51.60\00:07:53.87 but inside are full of dead men's bones 00:07:53.90\00:07:56.07 and all uncleanness. " 00:07:56.10\00:07:58.04 Now, that's Matthew 23 verse 27, 00:07:58.07\00:08:00.51 let's go to Acts 23 and read verses 1 through 3, 00:08:00.58\00:08:03.68 it says, there, Acts chapter 23 verses 1 through 3, 00:08:03.71\00:08:06.75 and I know they had referenced only verses 2 and 3 00:08:06.78\00:08:09.75 but I just put one in here as well. 00:08:09.78\00:08:11.25 It says, "Then Paul, looking earnestly at the council 00:08:11.29\00:08:13.56 and said, 'Men and brethren, 00:08:13.59\00:08:14.92 I have lived in all good conscience before God 00:08:14.96\00:08:17.39 and to this day. '" 00:08:17.43\00:08:18.79 Verse 2, "And the high priest Ananias 00:08:18.83\00:08:20.96 commanded those who stood by him 00:08:20.96\00:08:23.40 to strike him on the mouth. " 00:08:23.43\00:08:24.90 All right, so he's popping him in the mouth, 00:08:24.93\00:08:26.47 and now verse 3, "Then Paul said to him, 00:08:26.50\00:08:28.64 'God will strike you, you whitewashed wall! 00:08:28.67\00:08:31.84 For you sit to judge me according to the law, 00:08:31.87\00:08:35.18 and do you command me to be struck contrary to the law?'" 00:08:35.21\00:08:39.78 Okay, so what do these texts say? 00:08:39.81\00:08:41.65 Now, let's go back to Matthew 27 00:08:41.68\00:08:43.52 because we just read verse 27 00:08:43.55\00:08:45.32 but the answer to really both of these questions 00:08:45.35\00:08:47.79 is given in verse 28... the very next verse. 00:08:47.82\00:08:50.09 So, Matthew 23 verse 28, notice what it says now, 00:08:50.13\00:08:57.87 it says, "Even so you also outwardly 00:08:57.90\00:09:01.00 appear righteous to men, 00:09:01.04\00:09:03.10 but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. " 00:09:03.14\00:09:07.31 So, what are these verses addressing? 00:09:07.34\00:09:09.24 What is Jesus saying and what is Paul saying here? 00:09:09.28\00:09:11.18 The Pharisees... they were hypocrites 00:09:11.21\00:09:13.28 and so they appear... 00:09:13.31\00:09:14.65 they put on their nice little Christian mask... 00:09:14.68\00:09:16.25 their nice little Christian garments... 00:09:16.28\00:09:17.72 they would walk out and they would appear outwardly, 00:09:17.75\00:09:19.79 you know, as Christians to their little... 00:09:19.82\00:09:21.99 you know... to their surrounders 00:09:22.02\00:09:23.39 and to their... to the people that were... 00:09:23.43\00:09:24.96 you know, in the community 00:09:24.99\00:09:26.49 but inside they were hypocrites 00:09:26.53\00:09:28.00 and that's what Jesus was addressing 00:09:28.03\00:09:29.36 so, what Paul was addressing, "You guys are hypocrites... 00:09:29.40\00:09:31.27 you look good on the outside 00:09:31.30\00:09:32.63 but inside you need a heart transformation 00:09:32.67\00:09:35.10 because you are outwardly appearing holy 00:09:35.14\00:09:37.64 but inside, you're a hypocrite 00:09:37.71\00:09:39.04 because you're not yourself obeying the law of God. " 00:09:39.07\00:09:41.71 Panel: Amen... amen. 00:09:41.74\00:09:43.75 Ricky: Thank you, Brother, thank you. 00:09:43.81\00:09:45.15 Pastor John... Dinzey: Yes Sir. 00:09:45.18\00:09:47.25 Ricky: I've got another... got question here for you, 00:09:47.32\00:09:48.78 your first question is from Gina in Barbados. 00:09:48.82\00:09:52.62 She says: Please explain Revelation chapter 15 verse 2. 00:09:52.65\00:09:59.33 Dinzey: Okay, in order to explain Revelation chapter 15 00:09:59.36\00:10:03.83 verse 2, let's begin with verse 1. 00:10:03.87\00:10:06.30 In Revelation chapter 15 verse 1 the Bible says, 00:10:06.33\00:10:09.67 "Then I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous: 00:10:09.70\00:10:13.94 seven angels having the seven last plagues; 00:10:13.98\00:10:17.55 for in them the wrath of God is complete. " 00:10:17.61\00:10:20.98 So, here we have a... the beginning of the context 00:10:21.02\00:10:24.79 for Revelation chapter 15 verse 2 00:10:24.85\00:10:26.86 and it's a marvelous thing 00:10:26.89\00:10:28.69 that you see in the book of Revelation, 00:10:28.72\00:10:30.99 you also see this in other places in the Bible 00:10:31.03\00:10:33.46 where God is talking about judgment 00:10:33.50\00:10:35.23 that's going to be poured out 00:10:35.26\00:10:36.60 and now, we're talking about the seven last plagues 00:10:36.63\00:10:39.87 and before the Bible continues to talk to you about 00:10:39.90\00:10:43.30 what happens during the seven last plagues, 00:10:43.34\00:10:45.81 it's like the Lord presents an interlude... 00:10:45.84\00:10:48.28 a parentheses to let you know 00:10:48.31\00:10:50.48 that, "Hey, there is hope 00:10:50.51\00:10:52.61 and God's people will be delivered. " 00:10:52.65\00:10:54.65 So, this is what's happening in Revelation chapter 15 verse 2 00:10:54.68\00:10:57.92 as we go to Revelation 15 verse 2 it says, 00:10:57.95\00:10:59.85 "And I saw something like a sea of glass mingled with fire, 00:10:59.89\00:11:05.33 and those who have the victory over the beast... " 00:11:05.36\00:11:07.76 In Revelation chapter 14 00:11:07.86\00:11:09.53 you see that it's talking about the beast 00:11:09.56\00:11:11.40 and Revelation 13 as well... 00:11:11.43\00:11:13.03 "and over his image and over his mark 00:11:13.07\00:11:15.34 and over the number of his name, 00:11:15.37\00:11:17.01 standing on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. " 00:11:17.04\00:11:20.81 So, when you get to Revelation 15, 00:11:20.84\00:11:23.55 the beginning... the time when 00:11:23.58\00:11:26.01 the seven last plagues are going to be poured upon those 00:11:26.05\00:11:30.09 that take the mark and that do all the things 00:11:30.12\00:11:33.56 described there, 00:11:33.59\00:11:34.99 so, if you want to know about the... 00:11:35.02\00:11:37.13 the... the sea of glass... 00:11:37.16\00:11:38.93 notice that it says, "something like a sea of glass" 00:11:38.96\00:11:42.46 it's not necessary that it was a sea of glass 00:11:42.53\00:11:45.23 but it's something like a sea of glass 00:11:45.27\00:11:47.04 and it says, "mingled with fire" 00:11:47.07\00:11:48.40 and it's interesting when you look at these things 00:11:48.44\00:11:50.74 they are symbols that you can look at 00:11:50.81\00:11:53.51 like, for example, fire... what is the symbol for fire? 00:11:53.54\00:11:56.11 Well, you see that tongues of fire came upon the... 00:11:56.14\00:12:00.28 the disciples when they were in the Upper Room. 00:12:00.35\00:12:03.02 So, this is a symbol of the Holy Spirit 00:12:03.05\00:12:05.19 and... well, our time is up... 00:12:05.22\00:12:07.42 so, there is a lot of great things. 00:12:07.49\00:12:08.99 Continue reading the book of Revelation, 00:12:09.02\00:12:10.89 God will continue to lead you and guide you. 00:12:10.96\00:12:12.79 Ricky: Amen, thank you, Pastor John. 00:12:12.83\00:12:15.46 All right, Sister Shelley, 00:12:15.53\00:12:17.37 got the second question here. 00:12:17.40\00:12:19.07 Shelley: Okay. 00:12:19.10\00:12:20.44 Ricky: This is from Dawn in New York. 00:12:20.47\00:12:22.57 She says: How does one know 00:12:22.60\00:12:25.64 that he or she is baptized with the Spirit? 00:12:25.67\00:12:28.91 Shelley: Okay, I'm going to make a distinction here. 00:12:28.94\00:12:32.15 You mentioned "baptized with the Spirit. " 00:12:32.18\00:12:35.88 All Christians are baptized by the Spirit. 00:12:35.92\00:12:39.59 In 1st Corinthians 12:13, 00:12:39.62\00:12:42.19 it says, "For by one Spirit 00:12:42.22\00:12:44.83 we're all baptized into one body... 00:12:44.86\00:12:46.56 whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free... 00:12:46.59\00:12:48.63 all have been made to drink into one Spirit. " 00:12:48.66\00:12:52.17 So, all believers are baptized by the Holy Spirit 00:12:52.20\00:12:57.07 into the body of Christ. 00:12:57.11\00:12:58.44 This is how we become connected to the Vine Christ Jesus. 00:12:58.47\00:13:02.68 Now, the gift of the Spirit when... 00:13:02.71\00:13:06.95 if you want to say, "baptized with the Spirit" 00:13:06.98\00:13:09.22 the gift of the Spirit 00:13:09.25\00:13:10.59 is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. 00:13:10.62\00:13:13.62 You know, Ephesians 3:16 and 17 says that... 00:13:13.66\00:13:16.99 Paul's praying that you would be strengthened 00:13:17.06\00:13:20.33 by might with the Holy Spirit in your inner man... 00:13:20.36\00:13:23.43 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith. 00:13:23.47\00:13:26.00 So, when you have the Holy Spirit, 00:13:26.03\00:13:28.14 Christ is dwelling in your heart by faith 00:13:28.20\00:13:30.61 and you're connected to the Vine... 00:13:30.64\00:13:32.97 you are going to evidence the fruit of the Spirit. 00:13:33.01\00:13:38.48 Galatians 5:22 to 25, 00:13:38.55\00:13:41.52 If you've been baptized with the Holy Spirit... 00:13:41.58\00:13:44.85 "the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, 00:13:44.89\00:13:47.19 longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 00:13:47.22\00:13:50.53 gentleness and self-control. " 00:13:50.56\00:13:52.93 You know, he goes on to say, 00:13:52.96\00:13:54.36 "Hey, if we are going to live in the Spirit, 00:13:54.36\00:13:57.03 being baptized with the Spirit, 00:13:57.07\00:13:59.90 let us also walk in the Spirit. " 00:13:59.93\00:14:02.84 and final Scripture... Ephesians 5:8 through 10, 00:14:02.87\00:14:06.94 He says, "You were once darkness, 00:14:06.98\00:14:09.51 but now you are light in the Lord. 00:14:09.54\00:14:11.88 Walk as children of light 00:14:11.91\00:14:15.18 for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, 00:14:15.22\00:14:18.79 righteousness, and truth, 00:14:18.82\00:14:21.32 and find out what is acceptable to the Lord. " 00:14:21.36\00:14:24.83 When we are baptized with... 00:14:24.89\00:14:27.60 when the Holy Spirit is living in us, 00:14:27.66\00:14:29.66 we are going to begin to resemble Jesus. 00:14:29.70\00:14:33.90 Ricky: Amen, Sister Shelley. 00:14:33.94\00:14:36.30 All right, Brother Ryan, 00:14:36.34\00:14:38.64 you've got Number Two question here for you. 00:14:38.67\00:14:41.21 Ryan: All right. 00:14:41.24\00:14:42.64 Ricky: What is the truth on the cross 00:14:42.71\00:14:44.98 or was Jesus crucified on a stake 00:14:45.01\00:14:49.08 as certain religions believe? 00:14:49.12\00:14:50.52 That's from a Viewer from Pennsylvania. 00:14:50.55\00:14:52.52 Ryan: Yeah, now that's a great question. 00:14:52.55\00:14:54.19 You know, to be honest with you upfront, 00:14:54.22\00:14:56.83 the Bible does not specifically say what type of cross 00:14:56.86\00:14:59.93 or instrument Jesus was, 00:14:59.96\00:15:02.73 you know, attached to or hung upon. 00:15:02.76\00:15:04.70 In this case, there are four possibilities, 00:15:04.73\00:15:07.27 if you do the historical research, 00:15:07.34\00:15:09.50 there are three or four... in this case... 00:15:09.54\00:15:12.21 four types of... of... of crosses or stakes 00:15:12.24\00:15:14.81 that they would hang or crucify someone 00:15:14.84\00:15:17.28 back in these particular days. 00:15:17.31\00:15:19.45 There's one known as the Crux Simplex... 00:15:19.48\00:15:22.18 all right, that's a single upright stick 00:15:22.22\00:15:24.82 and then there's another one called the Crux Commissa 00:15:24.85\00:15:28.02 which is a capital-T-shaped structure 00:15:28.09\00:15:30.86 okay, and then you have the Crux Decussata 00:15:30.89\00:15:34.10 which is an X-shaped cross 00:15:34.13\00:15:35.76 and then you have the one that we often see in the pictures 00:15:35.80\00:15:38.50 depicting of Christ hanging on the cross 00:15:38.53\00:15:40.17 which is known as the Crux Immissa 00:15:40.20\00:15:41.87 which is a familiar lower case T- shaped structure 00:15:41.90\00:15:44.61 that we believe... during the days of Christ 00:15:44.64\00:15:46.91 a little bit more historically accurate. 00:15:46.94\00:15:49.21 Now, we have to be clear, this is Bible Q and A, right? 00:15:49.24\00:15:51.91 So, we have to provide Bible answers... 00:15:51.95\00:15:53.48 and the truth is: there's not an explicit text in the Bible 00:15:53.52\00:15:56.32 that says, "And Jesus was hung on this type of cross... 00:15:56.35\00:15:58.99 it looked like this and it looked like that. " 00:15:59.02\00:16:01.72 It doesn't give us an explicit description. 00:16:01.76\00:16:04.33 But, you know, it's interesting, I found this text 00:16:04.36\00:16:06.73 and I thought it to be interesting 00:16:06.76\00:16:08.10 just thinking logically here... 00:16:08.13\00:16:10.07 in Luke chapter 23 verse 26... 00:16:10.13\00:16:12.07 so, Luke chapter 23 verse 26... 00:16:12.10\00:16:14.00 it says here, "Now they led Him away... " 00:16:14.04\00:16:16.97 Christ... 00:16:17.01\00:16:18.34 "they laid hold of a certain man, Simon of Cyrene, 00:16:18.41\00:16:21.18 who was coming from the country, 00:16:21.21\00:16:23.35 and on him they laid the cross 00:16:23.38\00:16:26.48 that he might bear it after Jesus. " 00:16:26.51\00:16:28.05 I, in my mind, thought, 00:16:28.12\00:16:29.45 it couldn't be an upright single beam or stake 00:16:29.48\00:16:32.02 because that's what you would carry... 00:16:32.05\00:16:33.39 not necessarily be laid upon you. 00:16:33.42\00:16:35.26 Again, it doesn't explicitly say 00:16:35.29\00:16:37.06 but I'm thinking... if something is laid upon a person, 00:16:37.09\00:16:39.36 then it's something that's laid upon them that they can carry 00:16:39.39\00:16:42.26 in a way... you know... far distances in this case 00:16:42.30\00:16:44.37 as Christ would be carried outside of the city 00:16:44.43\00:16:46.43 from the inward city 00:16:46.47\00:16:47.80 and so, in this case... the Bible just simply doesn't say 00:16:47.84\00:16:50.47 what type of cross 00:16:50.51\00:16:51.87 but we do know that our Savior died and He was crucified 00:16:51.91\00:16:54.74 and so, I'm going to leave that up to you to do 00:16:54.84\00:16:56.75 more historical research for yourself. 00:16:56.78\00:16:58.88 Ricky: Amen, thank you, Pastor Ryan. 00:16:58.91\00:17:01.05 All right... well to our Viewers I want to share with you... 00:17:01.08\00:17:04.62 each one of our Panelists they get two minutes 00:17:04.69\00:17:07.09 for each question 00:17:07.12\00:17:08.46 but they also have one question where they get three minutes 00:17:08.49\00:17:11.83 so, Pastor John... here's your first three-minute time 00:17:11.93\00:17:16.20 for your... for that question. 00:17:16.23\00:17:18.13 All right, the question is: 00:17:18.17\00:17:20.00 Are the six thousand years actual or is it symbolic? 00:17:20.04\00:17:25.87 If actual then it will end in 2027? 00:17:25.91\00:17:31.35 Dinzey: Well, a good question indeed. 00:17:31.41\00:17:34.38 There are many that have talked about 6,000 years 00:17:34.48\00:17:40.32 and many across different denominations. 00:17:40.36\00:17:44.26 There's this general belief of 6,000 years 00:17:44.29\00:17:48.13 and then 1,000-year of rest to make 7,000 years. 00:17:48.16\00:17:51.90 This is based somewhat on the Scripture that says, 00:17:51.93\00:17:55.67 "A day to the Lord is like a thousand years, 00:17:55.70\00:17:58.04 and a thousand years like a day. " 00:17:58.07\00:18:00.31 However, this does not say that Jesus Christ is coming 00:18:00.34\00:18:05.11 after 6,000 years. 00:18:05.15\00:18:07.15 You're asking if it's symbolic or actual... 00:18:07.18\00:18:10.02 it would just be literal... 00:18:10.05\00:18:12.69 literal years that it's talking about here, 00:18:12.72\00:18:16.16 but we do not have any doctrine or anything 00:18:16.19\00:18:19.56 that states this specifically 00:18:19.59\00:18:21.16 that the Lord will come after 6,000 years. 00:18:21.23\00:18:23.23 Also, there is a serious problem with coming up with a date 00:18:23.26\00:18:28.20 for... like for example you mentioned 2027... 00:18:28.27\00:18:30.87 I've seen others come up with 2024. 00:18:30.91\00:18:33.14 There are many things that I have seen 00:18:33.17\00:18:35.41 looking at this 6,000 years 00:18:35.44\00:18:38.31 but any attempt to come up with a date or a year 00:18:38.38\00:18:43.49 when Christ will come, 00:18:43.52\00:18:45.32 should not even be tried. 00:18:45.35\00:18:47.06 Don't put any faith in the idea that Christ is coming in 2024... 00:18:47.09\00:18:50.69 or 2027... 20... or whatever time people come up with, 00:18:50.73\00:18:55.23 because as you know the Bible says... Matthew 24:36, 00:18:55.30\00:18:59.73 "But of that day and hour no one knows, 00:18:59.77\00:19:02.54 not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. " 00:19:02.57\00:19:05.44 Now, I know that you may have heard, 00:19:05.47\00:19:07.51 "It doesn't say 'year' 00:19:07.54\00:19:08.88 so we can come up with the year. " 00:19:08.91\00:19:10.61 Please don't... don't get yourself caught up 00:19:10.65\00:19:13.75 in that type of thinking 00:19:13.78\00:19:15.15 because you are going down a path that is dangerous. 00:19:15.18\00:19:18.22 What is best is that you would consider 00:19:18.25\00:19:22.79 what it says in Matthew 42... Matthew 24:42 to 44, 00:19:22.82\00:19:26.86 which I'm going to read in a moment 00:19:26.90\00:19:28.20 because first I want to say that even the Jews 00:19:28.23\00:19:30.47 have come up with the idea that the world would exist 00:19:30.53\00:19:35.07 for 6,000 years 00:19:35.14\00:19:36.47 so that the Lord would allow 6,000 years of sin 00:19:36.50\00:19:39.87 and then there will be 1,000 year of rest for the earth. 00:19:39.91\00:19:43.61 Even the Jews had this idea. 00:19:43.65\00:19:46.28 Is it possible? 00:19:46.31\00:19:47.65 Yes it's possible that the Lord would allow 6,000 years of sin 00:19:47.68\00:19:50.22 and then 1,000 years of rest... it's possible... 00:19:50.25\00:19:52.39 but we do not know the beginning date... 00:19:52.42\00:19:54.42 nobody knows when that date is supposed to start. 00:19:54.46\00:19:57.49 So, to come up with a date is a futile attempt. 00:19:57.53\00:20:00.50 The best thing we can do as I said is Matthew 24:42-44. 00:20:00.53\00:20:04.10 Jesus said, "Watch, therefore, 00:20:04.13\00:20:05.50 for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. 00:20:05.53\00:20:09.07 But know this, that if the master of the house had known 00:20:09.10\00:20:12.07 what hour the thief would come, 00:20:12.11\00:20:13.78 he would have watched 00:20:13.81\00:20:15.14 and not allowed his house to be broken into. 00:20:15.18\00:20:16.88 Therefore be... therefore you also be ready, 00:20:16.91\00:20:20.95 for the Son of Man is coming at an hour 00:20:20.98\00:20:23.15 you do not expect. " 00:20:23.22\00:20:24.89 So, we should be ready for the Lord to come at any time 00:20:24.95\00:20:28.82 and not get caught up in these dates... 00:20:28.86\00:20:32.56 be faithful to the Lord every day of your life 00:20:32.59\00:20:34.93 and when the Lord comes, you will rejoice. 00:20:34.96\00:20:36.77 Panel: Amen... amen. 00:20:36.80\00:20:38.40 Ricky: Thank you, Brother John for that answer. 00:20:38.43\00:20:41.04 Well, before we go to Sister Shelley 00:20:41.07\00:20:43.30 for her third question, 00:20:43.34\00:20:45.44 I want to remind the Viewers at home 00:20:45.47\00:20:47.38 how you can participate in Bible Q and A. 00:20:47.41\00:20:49.58 You can e-mail your questions at BibleQA@3abn. tv 00:20:49.61\00:20:55.05 that's BibleQA@3abn. tv 00:20:55.08\00:20:58.72 You can also text in your questions to: 618-228-3975 00:20:58.75\00:21:05.29 that number again is: 618-228-3975 00:21:05.33\00:21:10.03 and for those of you who are on Instagram, 00:21:10.07\00:21:12.57 you can send in your questions @3abn_official 00:21:12.60\00:21:16.81 that's @3abn_official 00:21:16.84\00:21:20.58 All right, Sister Shelley, ready for your third question? 00:21:20.61\00:21:23.28 Shelley: I am. 00:21:23.31\00:21:24.68 Ricky: All right, and this is your time where you can do... 00:21:24.71\00:21:26.31 take three minutes to give us your answer. 00:21:26.35\00:21:27.85 Shelley: Yeah, that's a good thing 00:21:27.88\00:21:29.22 because I have 16-page study on this that I've distilled... 00:21:29.25\00:21:32.32 that I've distilled to a page and a half. 00:21:32.35\00:21:35.02 Ricky: All right, okay, this is from a Viewer in Virginia. 00:21:35.09\00:21:38.26 I have a question, 00:21:38.29\00:21:40.20 is there any Bible proof that the woman caught in adultery... 00:21:40.23\00:21:44.60 that the woman caught in adultery in John 8 00:21:44.67\00:21:47.84 is Mary Magdalene? 00:21:47.87\00:21:49.20 Shelley: Well, let me give you what the Bible says 00:21:49.24\00:21:51.11 and you make that decision. 00:21:51.14\00:21:52.54 In John chapter 8... the woman's caught in adultery, 00:21:52.57\00:21:55.61 verse 11... Jesus looks at her and He says, 00:21:55.64\00:21:59.68 "Hey, does anyone accuse you?" 00:21:59.71\00:22:01.78 and: "Where are your accusers woman?" 00:22:01.82\00:22:03.79 She said, "No one accused me. " 00:22:03.82\00:22:05.22 He said, "Neither do I... just go and sin no more. " 00:22:05.25\00:22:08.32 Now, all four gospels record a dinner party 00:22:08.39\00:22:12.66 right during the final week of Jesus' life. 00:22:12.69\00:22:16.93 He was invited... all of the disciples were invited 00:22:16.97\00:22:20.27 and there were plenty of curiosity seekers 00:22:20.30\00:22:22.87 that were there as well 00:22:22.90\00:22:24.41 but we know that His disciples included 00:22:24.44\00:22:27.34 Lazarus... Martha... and Mary. 00:22:27.38\00:22:30.91 Luke 7:37... this is interesting, 00:22:30.95\00:22:34.42 Luke is telling the account, 00:22:34.48\00:22:35.85 "Behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner... " 00:22:35.88\00:22:39.92 well, we're all sinners. 00:22:39.95\00:22:41.29 Ryan: Hmmm... hmmm... 00:22:41.36\00:22:42.69 Shelley: But what... this is a significant designation 00:22:42.72\00:22:46.96 because what he is saying... she was a notorious sinner. 00:22:47.00\00:22:51.47 Her sin was well known. 00:22:51.53\00:22:53.07 Most likely she was a prostitute. 00:22:53.10\00:22:55.70 "This woman in the city who was a sinner, 00:22:55.74\00:22:58.17 when she knew that Jesus sat at the table 00:22:58.21\00:23:00.54 in the Pharisee's house, 00:23:00.58\00:23:01.91 brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil. " 00:23:01.94\00:23:06.18 It became obvious how awful her sin was 00:23:06.21\00:23:11.42 when Simon who was hosting recoiled at the idea 00:23:11.49\00:23:16.39 that she was doing this to Jesus. 00:23:16.42\00:23:18.73 Now, it's interesting... Matthew, Mark, and Luke 00:23:18.76\00:23:21.70 don't mention the name of this woman. 00:23:21.76\00:23:26.13 They all tell the same story without mentioning her name 00:23:26.17\00:23:29.34 and I believe this because she was a devoted Christian disciple 00:23:29.37\00:23:33.78 and she was still alive 00:23:33.81\00:23:35.84 at the time that they wrote their gospels 00:23:35.88\00:23:37.98 but the gospel of John which was written sometime later 00:23:38.01\00:23:42.65 presumably after the death of Mary, 00:23:42.68\00:23:45.35 he identifies her as the sister of Lazarus and Martha. 00:23:45.39\00:23:53.03 John 11:1 through 2, 00:23:53.09\00:23:55.06 he says, "Now a certain man was sick, 00:23:55.13\00:23:58.00 Lazarus of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. 00:23:58.03\00:24:03.81 It was that Mary who anointed the Lord with fragrant oil 00:24:03.84\00:24:09.48 and wiped His feet with her hair, 00:24:09.51\00:24:11.75 whose brother Lazarus was sick. " 00:24:11.81\00:24:14.45 So, it's a reasonable assumption. 00:24:14.48\00:24:17.09 When Mary was living a lifestyle of sin, 00:24:17.12\00:24:20.66 she lived in Magda known as Mary of Magdala 00:24:20.69\00:24:24.16 but Jesus cast out the seven demons... 00:24:24.19\00:24:27.66 she returns home to Bethany 00:24:27.66\00:24:29.80 and now she becomes known as Mary of Bethany. 00:24:29.83\00:24:33.10 But I just want to point out 00:24:33.13\00:24:34.87 she became a part of the company of women 00:24:34.90\00:24:38.04 who followed Jesus around on all of His journeys. 00:24:38.07\00:24:41.21 We find her as one... 00:24:41.24\00:24:43.81 there's only three disciples who did not desert Him 00:24:43.85\00:24:47.78 when He was on the cross. 00:24:47.82\00:24:49.25 She's standing at the cross 00:24:49.28\00:24:50.69 and guess who was the first person to see Him 00:24:50.72\00:24:53.96 when He was resurrected? 00:24:54.02\00:24:55.39 Mary. 00:24:55.42\00:24:56.76 Panel: Amen... I like that. 00:24:56.79\00:24:58.16 Ricky: Praise the Lord, 00:24:58.19\00:24:59.53 thank you for sharing that, Sister. 00:24:59.56\00:25:00.96 All right, Pastor Ryan, 00:25:00.96\00:25:03.10 ready for your Number-three question? 00:25:03.13\00:25:05.10 Ryan: Yes... let's do it. 00:25:05.13\00:25:06.47 Ricky: In May... this is actually from Natalie in Georgia 00:25:06.50\00:25:09.30 she writes: In May 1780, in New England, 00:25:09.34\00:25:13.07 the day time became as dark as midnight. 00:25:13.11\00:25:16.64 In November 12 and 13, 1833 00:25:16.68\00:25:21.05 there was a great meteor shower that was seen. 00:25:21.08\00:25:23.79 There have been days in recent times 00:25:23.85\00:25:26.86 when there were red moons. 00:25:26.89\00:25:28.49 Is there Biblical support that these events may occur again. 00:25:28.59\00:25:32.86 Ryan: I would say that there is reasonable evidence 00:25:32.89\00:25:38.37 to suggest that yes, we... 00:25:38.40\00:25:39.80 we could possibly see this happen again 00:25:39.83\00:25:41.84 and now, I like that you brought about the history there... 00:25:41.87\00:25:44.27 is that Natalie? I think it was Natalie. 00:25:44.31\00:25:45.81 I like that you brought about the history there, 00:25:45.84\00:25:47.54 because it's interesting when you go to Revelation chapter 6, 00:25:47.61\00:25:50.48 verses 12 and 13, 00:25:50.51\00:25:52.25 just as what you read there and we see happening 00:25:52.28\00:25:55.32 in... you know, from that late 1700s 00:25:55.35\00:25:57.59 or mid-1700s into the early 1800s... 00:25:57.62\00:26:00.09 it happens in the exact same order 00:26:00.12\00:26:02.52 as we see there in Revelation 6 verses 12 and 13 00:26:02.56\00:26:05.06 so, this is within the context of the 6th Seal 00:26:05.09\00:26:07.50 and notice what it says, 00:26:07.56\00:26:08.90 "I looked when he opened the sixth seal... " 00:26:08.93\00:26:10.43 this is Revelation chapter 6 verse 12. 00:26:10.47\00:26:12.40 "I looked and He opened the sixth seal, 00:26:12.47\00:26:14.30 and behold, there was a great earthquake; 00:26:14.34\00:26:16.07 and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, 00:26:16.10\00:26:18.81 and the moon became like blood. 00:26:18.84\00:26:20.44 And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, 00:26:20.48\00:26:24.41 as a fig tree drops its figs 00:26:24.45\00:26:25.85 when it is shaken by a mighty wind. " 00:26:25.88\00:26:28.72 Now, it's interesting because what you just referenced 00:26:28.75\00:26:31.29 is exactly what I believe this passage is referencing also 00:26:31.32\00:26:33.86 because what happened... 00:26:33.89\00:26:35.46 and you mentioned the sun and the moon there, 00:26:35.49\00:26:37.59 but even before that... 00:26:37.63\00:26:38.96 November 1st, 1755, we have the great Lisbon earthquake 00:26:39.03\00:26:41.86 which was one of the greatest 00:26:41.90\00:26:43.23 most powerful earthquakes in history... 00:26:43.26\00:26:44.83 four million square miles killed 60,000 people 00:26:44.87\00:26:47.90 in just a few seconds... powerful earthquake 00:26:47.94\00:26:50.87 and then, of course, May 19 as you referenced 00:26:50.91\00:26:53.78 and, you know, we see the sun becoming black... 00:26:53.81\00:26:56.08 it wasn't an eclipse... 00:26:56.11\00:26:57.61 many people say, "Oh, just an eclipse... " 00:26:57.65\00:26:59.21 it was not an eclipse... it was supernatural. 00:26:59.25\00:27:01.75 the moon... the same day appeared as blood red 00:27:01.78\00:27:04.15 and then, later on, November 13 as you mentioned in 1833, 00:27:04.19\00:27:07.46 there was a massive meteor shower like had never been seen. 00:27:07.49\00:27:10.59 So, we see clearly 00:27:10.63\00:27:12.36 what Revelation's talking about there, 00:27:12.43\00:27:14.00 now, what modern scholars have found... 00:27:14.03\00:27:15.76 what they referenced is that Matthew 24 where we find, 00:27:15.80\00:27:18.53 and where it says, 00:27:18.57\00:27:19.90 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days 00:27:19.93\00:27:21.27 the sun will be darkened, 00:27:21.30\00:27:22.64 the moon will not give its light; 00:27:22.67\00:27:24.01 and the starts will fall from heaven, 00:27:24.04\00:27:25.37 and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. " 00:27:25.41\00:27:26.74 That powers of the heaven be shaken and the earthquake... 00:27:26.78\00:27:28.54 it's not mentioned at the beginning but rather at the end 00:27:28.58\00:27:31.38 and so, some scholars have brought about and mentioned 00:27:31.41\00:27:34.32 that... that it may be possibly here in Matthew 24 00:27:34.35\00:27:37.55 referencing another stream of these same events 00:27:37.59\00:27:40.69 going to happen right before the second coming of Christ. 00:27:40.72\00:27:43.22 It's a possibility for sure 00:27:43.26\00:27:44.73 but I was going to read from this book here... 00:27:44.76\00:27:46.23 I don't have time to read it but I would... 00:27:46.26\00:27:48.00 I would encourage you to find this book... 00:27:48.03\00:27:49.76 this is called: The Great Controversy 00:27:49.80\00:27:51.17 and I had a portion here, 00:27:51.20\00:27:52.53 I'm going to read it in my closing thoughts 00:27:52.60\00:27:54.17 here in a little bit at the end of the Program 00:27:54.20\00:27:55.77 but the Great Controversy... great book of history... 00:27:55.80\00:27:58.54 and it recalls a lot of these events from Bible prophecy. 00:27:58.57\00:28:01.24 Great book to have in your library: The Great Controversy. 00:28:01.28\00:28:03.61 Ricky: Amen, thank you, Pastor Ryan. 00:28:03.68\00:28:05.91 Okay, Pastor John, I've got a Number 3 question for you. 00:28:05.95\00:28:09.22 Dinzey: Okay. 00:28:09.28\00:28:10.72 This is from Jim: 00:28:10.75\00:28:12.09 Why was it acceptable to God 00:28:12.15\00:28:15.16 that His chosen leaders and patriarchs, 00:28:15.22\00:28:17.59 in the Old Testament, 00:28:17.66\00:28:18.99 had multiple wives and concubines? 00:28:19.03\00:28:21.53 It seems that this was not considered to be immoral. 00:28:21.56\00:28:25.40 Also, since God doesn't change, 00:28:25.43\00:28:28.47 would this arrangement still be acceptable to God today? 00:28:28.50\00:28:32.44 Lastly, what about marrying relatives such as cousins, 00:28:32.47\00:28:37.01 which also seems to have been common practice? 00:28:37.05\00:28:40.62 Thank you so much for your help 00:28:40.65\00:28:42.65 in understanding these difficult issues! 00:28:42.68\00:28:44.99 Shelley: In two minutes. Panel: Laughter. 00:28:45.02\00:28:47.29 Dinzey: I rest on which one we have three minutes for 00:28:47.32\00:28:49.82 but you know, this is... 00:28:49.86\00:28:51.36 you made a statement here that God doesn't change... 00:28:51.39\00:28:53.56 would this arrangement still be acceptable to God today? 00:28:53.60\00:28:55.70 God never made a statement or any declaration 00:28:55.73\00:28:58.87 that says, "You can have multiple wives" 00:28:58.90\00:29:02.70 and so... we cannot say that God would... 00:29:02.77\00:29:05.04 would look at this and say, "It's okay, go ahead... " 00:29:05.07\00:29:07.68 so, here, I'm going to point you first to Genesis chapter 2 00:29:07.74\00:29:12.91 verse 24 where we have the words, 00:29:12.95\00:29:15.55 "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, 00:29:15.58\00:29:17.92 and shall cleave unto his wife: 00:29:17.95\00:29:19.42 and they shall be one flesh. " 00:29:19.45\00:29:20.96 The idea of a marriage is that the... 00:29:20.99\00:29:23.69 the man and the woman become one flesh. 00:29:23.73\00:29:26.36 You cannot be one flesh with multiple wives. 00:29:26.39\00:29:29.00 And so, this is God's original plan... 00:29:29.03\00:29:32.47 this is why He made Adam and Eve. 00:29:32.50\00:29:35.04 He didn't grab four or five ribs 00:29:35.07\00:29:37.51 and made four or five wives for him, 00:29:37.54\00:29:39.77 it was just one. 00:29:39.81\00:29:41.14 This is God's ideal plan. 00:29:41.18\00:29:43.11 This is God's plan for us. 00:29:43.14\00:29:45.25 Did some other patriarchs do this? 00:29:45.28\00:29:49.05 Yes... but there was always a bad result. 00:29:49.12\00:29:52.39 Consider Abraham... 00:29:52.42\00:29:53.76 there were issues with Hagar and Sarai 00:29:53.79\00:29:56.86 when they had Ishmael 00:29:56.89\00:29:59.49 so, there's jealousy involved... problems occur... 00:29:59.56\00:30:02.80 look at Jacob... he had multiple wives... 00:30:02.83\00:30:05.00 serious problems in the homes 00:30:05.03\00:30:07.10 and every one of those... serious problems in the home, 00:30:07.14\00:30:10.41 it's not something that should be done. 00:30:10.44\00:30:12.57 In Deuteronomy chapter 17 verse 17, 00:30:12.61\00:30:14.64 it specifically says, 00:30:14.71\00:30:16.75 "Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, 00:30:16.78\00:30:19.35 that his heart turn not away... " 00:30:19.41\00:30:21.32 and this is talking about kings but really applies to everyone. 00:30:21.35\00:30:25.95 Bad results for Solomon, 00:30:25.99\00:30:27.99 notice in 1st Kings 11 verse 4, 00:30:28.02\00:30:29.99 "For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, 00:30:30.03\00:30:32.13 that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: 00:30:32.19\00:30:35.96 and his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God, 00:30:36.03\00:30:38.50 as was the heart of David his father. " 00:30:38.53\00:30:40.87 Now, concerning cousins and sisters... 00:30:40.90\00:30:43.61 for a period of time in the beginning 00:30:43.64\00:30:46.24 and I was talking... the beginning of creation time, 00:30:46.27\00:30:49.68 that the Lord allowed men to marry their sisters 00:30:49.71\00:30:53.08 or their cousins because the... 00:30:53.11\00:30:55.08 He said, "Be fruitful and multiply. " 00:30:55.15\00:30:56.62 So the earth had to be replenished with people. 00:30:56.65\00:31:01.06 But eventually, the weakness of humanity 00:31:01.09\00:31:03.89 became more apparent 00:31:03.93\00:31:05.49 and anyone doing this came with bad results... 00:31:05.53\00:31:09.96 there you have birth defects and serious health problems 00:31:10.00\00:31:13.27 and I don't have time to read the Scriptures that show this, 00:31:13.30\00:31:16.57 you can read Leviticus chapter 18 and 20 for more information. 00:31:16.60\00:31:19.87 Ricky: Amen... thank you, Brother John, 00:31:19.91\00:31:22.01 all right, well, Sister Shelley, you ready for question number 4? 00:31:22.04\00:31:26.21 Shelley: I hope so. 00:31:26.25\00:31:27.62 Ricky: Okay. 00:31:27.65\00:31:29.25 Why did the Egyptians mistreat the Israelites? 00:31:29.28\00:31:32.42 Why did God tell Jacob that his descendants would be slaves 00:31:32.45\00:31:36.93 for 400 years? 00:31:36.96\00:31:38.36 That's from Alba in Nicaragua. 00:31:38.39\00:31:40.86 Shelley: Okay, Alba, first of all, God told Abraham 00:31:40.90\00:31:44.90 rather than Jacob... we find it in Genesis 15:13, 00:31:44.93\00:31:48.97 God is cutting a covenant with Abram... Abraham... 00:31:49.04\00:31:53.71 and in the middle of this covenant process... this ritual, 00:31:53.74\00:31:59.48 God says to Abraham in verse 15, Genesis 15:13, 00:31:59.51\00:32:03.15 Your descendants will be strangers in a land 00:32:03.18\00:32:06.45 that is not theirs. " 00:32:06.49\00:32:07.82 Wait a minute... 00:32:07.86\00:32:09.19 here He is saying, "You're saved by grace through faith... 00:32:09.22\00:32:10.86 your righteousness... " 00:32:10.89\00:32:12.26 you know, "Your faith is credited to you 00:32:12.29\00:32:14.83 as righteousness. 00:32:14.86\00:32:16.20 Oh, your descendants that are going to be multiple 00:32:16.23\00:32:19.90 are going to be slaves in a foreign country 00:32:19.93\00:32:23.04 for 400 years. " 00:32:23.07\00:32:24.81 He's talking about Egypt... 00:32:24.84\00:32:26.78 God knows the end from the beginning... 00:32:26.81\00:32:29.11 so, He is revealing the future here. 00:32:29.18\00:32:31.71 God sends Jacob which is... excuse me... Isaac... 00:32:31.75\00:32:35.85 God sends Joseph, Jacob's son, 00:32:35.92\00:32:40.12 to Egypt and guess what? 00:32:40.16\00:32:44.16 Joseph's plan saves all of Egypt 00:32:44.19\00:32:46.90 but it also saves the whole clan of Jacob. 00:32:46.93\00:32:50.30 They go down to Egypt... 00:32:50.33\00:32:52.13 there's only 70 to 75 people that went down to Egypt, 00:32:52.17\00:32:57.34 so, why was there this 400-year period of waiting? 00:32:57.37\00:33:01.94 Because He had to multiply them into a great nation 00:33:02.01\00:33:06.48 so that they could come out and take possession 00:33:06.51\00:33:08.42 of the... of the of the Promised Land. 00:33:08.45\00:33:10.85 They couldn't have possibly otherwise. 00:33:10.89\00:33:13.22 So, the reason that the Egyptians hated them 00:33:13.25\00:33:17.33 is because they were fearful. 00:33:17.39\00:33:18.93 God was multiplying them so rapidly... 00:33:18.96\00:33:22.26 the Egyptians set task masters on them 00:33:22.30\00:33:25.63 so that they wouldn't... 00:33:25.67\00:33:27.20 so that the Nation of Israel wouldn't join other nations 00:33:27.24\00:33:30.67 and rise up against Egypt 00:33:30.71\00:33:32.57 and to me it's amazing that God predicted in verse 14 00:33:32.61\00:33:36.98 after the waiting period, that He would judge... 00:33:37.01\00:33:41.35 this is Genesis 15:14... 00:33:41.38\00:33:43.59 He would judge the Egyptians... 00:33:43.62\00:33:46.62 that Israel would come out with great possessions 00:33:46.65\00:33:51.49 and He fulfilled that in Exodus 12 verses 35 and 36. 00:33:51.56\00:33:56.33 I think it's exciting. 00:33:56.36\00:33:57.73 Panel: Amen. 00:33:57.77\00:33:59.10 Ricky: Amen... thank you Sister. 00:33:59.13\00:34:00.67 All right, Pastor Ryan, Question Number 4 for you, 00:34:00.70\00:34:04.44 I like this one... 00:34:04.47\00:34:06.01 Is it a sin to eat morning doves? 00:34:06.07\00:34:10.21 That's from Tim. 00:34:10.25\00:34:11.58 Ryan: All right, that's a great question, Tim, 00:34:11.61\00:34:14.35 I suppose it's not any more a sin to eat morning doves 00:34:14.38\00:34:19.49 as it is evening doves, I don't know, 00:34:19.55\00:34:20.89 I've never heard of a morning dove. 00:34:20.92\00:34:22.26 But, to give a Biblical answer, 00:34:22.32\00:34:25.59 truthfully... Biblically speaking... 00:34:25.63\00:34:27.96 is not a sin to eat this type of animal... a dove... 00:34:27.96\00:34:31.20 that is considered to be clean and how do we know that? 00:34:31.23\00:34:33.44 Because it was considered to be a... 00:34:33.47\00:34:35.70 a great sacrificial animal as well. 00:34:35.77\00:34:37.94 We find that in Leviticus chapter 5 verse 7. 00:34:37.97\00:34:41.21 So, it says here, "If he is not able to bring a lamb, 00:34:41.24\00:34:44.05 then he shall bring to the Lord, 00:34:44.08\00:34:45.68 for his trespass which he has committed, 00:34:45.71\00:34:48.28 two turtledoves or two young pigeons: 00:34:48.32\00:34:50.99 one as a sin offering 00:34:51.02\00:34:52.42 and the other as a burnt offering. " 00:34:52.45\00:34:53.79 So, the sacrificial animals had to be clean 00:34:53.82\00:34:56.56 and so, therefore, we know that doves fall into the category 00:34:56.59\00:34:59.69 biblically speaking 00:34:59.73\00:35:01.13 as a clean animal that can be eaten. 00:35:01.20\00:35:03.40 Now, we know this... even further clarification... 00:35:03.43\00:35:06.60 if you read Leviticus 6 verses 26 to 29, 00:35:06.63\00:35:09.80 we see there very clearly, 00:35:09.84\00:35:11.31 I'm not going to read those texts, 00:35:11.34\00:35:12.67 but again, Leviticus chapter 6 verses 26 to 29... 00:35:12.74\00:35:15.81 if you go read there 00:35:15.84\00:35:17.18 we have the specific instruction given by God 00:35:17.21\00:35:19.68 to Moses and Aaron... to the Priesthood 00:35:19.78\00:35:21.85 that they were to eat these particular animals 00:35:21.92\00:35:24.49 in particular situations like... 00:35:24.52\00:35:25.85 if they were offering as a burnt offering, 00:35:25.92\00:35:27.96 they could eat the flesh 00:35:27.99\00:35:29.32 but, of course, not the fat and not the blood. 00:35:29.39\00:35:31.29 So there had to be a kosher process 00:35:31.33\00:35:32.76 that they had to go through 00:35:32.79\00:35:34.10 to make sure that they got rid of as much of the blood 00:35:34.13\00:35:35.83 and the fat as possible. 00:35:35.90\00:35:37.23 But... but in this case, you know, 00:35:37.27\00:35:38.60 I just want to leave you with this. 00:35:38.63\00:35:39.97 While Biblically speaking 00:35:40.00\00:35:41.44 we can't say that it's a sin 00:35:41.47\00:35:43.07 to eat this particular clean animals, 00:35:43.10\00:35:44.91 please leave them precious little doves alone. 00:35:44.94\00:35:47.64 Panel: Laughter. 00:35:47.68\00:35:49.31 Ryan: Leave them little doves alone, my goodness, 00:35:49.38\00:35:51.81 in the modern time that we live in, 00:35:51.85\00:35:53.28 it would have to be just in terms of appetite. 00:35:53.31\00:35:55.92 I mean, I don't wake up in the morning and say, 00:35:55.95\00:35:57.55 "Oh, man! look at those doves out there... 00:35:57.62\00:35:58.99 I would love to eat me some dove in the morning. " 00:35:59.02\00:36:00.92 I'm again not trying to... to be critical or judgmental 00:36:00.96\00:36:03.19 but please leave those precious little doves alone. 00:36:03.22\00:36:05.96 Go to the grocery store and get your food elsewhere... 00:36:06.06\00:36:08.63 leave them precious little doves alone. 00:36:08.66\00:36:11.47 But it is technically Biblical... clean... 00:36:11.50\00:36:14.27 to eat those particular animals. 00:36:14.44\00:36:15.77 Panel: Laughter. 00:36:15.84\00:36:17.24 Ricky: Thank you, Sir, 00:36:17.27\00:36:19.11 Pastor John, I've got Question Number 4 here for you. 00:36:19.14\00:36:22.28 Pause... 00:36:22.31\00:36:24.25 This is from Susan in Groves, Oklahoma. 00:36:24.28\00:36:27.78 She writes: In Zechariah 14 00:36:27.82\00:36:31.65 it says the Lord will fight the nations 00:36:31.69\00:36:34.12 and then his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives 00:36:34.16\00:36:37.79 and will be king over the whole earth. 00:36:37.83\00:36:41.06 Is that when He returns with the saved 00:36:41.10\00:36:44.33 after the thousand years? 00:36:44.37\00:36:46.23 Others say it is when He comes before the thousand years 00:36:46.27\00:36:50.67 that he does this. Thank you. 00:36:50.71\00:36:52.41 Dinzey: Thank you very much, 00:36:52.47\00:36:54.04 In Zechariah chapter 14 you have a picture of 00:36:54.08\00:36:57.68 something that may have happened 00:36:57.71\00:36:59.51 if the Jews had been faithful to the Lord 00:36:59.55\00:37:02.25 and the Lord would have prepared 00:37:02.28\00:37:04.42 some type of a heaven-and-earth type of thing 00:37:04.45\00:37:06.59 previous to the coming of Christ the first time 00:37:06.62\00:37:11.43 before He died for us, 00:37:11.46\00:37:12.83 however, because they were not faithful, 00:37:12.86\00:37:14.20 this was not fulfilled. 00:37:14.20\00:37:15.53 There is a... a... an end time setting for this 00:37:15.56\00:37:19.37 and Zechariah 14:4 says, 00:37:19.43\00:37:21.50 "And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, 00:37:21.54\00:37:24.64 which faces Jerusalem on the east. 00:37:24.67\00:37:26.61 And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, 00:37:26.64\00:37:28.74 from east to west, making a very large valley; 00:37:28.78\00:37:31.18 half of the mountain shall move toward the north 00:37:31.21\00:37:33.28 and half of it toward the south. " 00:37:33.35\00:37:36.02 This takes place after the 1,000 years 00:37:36.08\00:37:38.65 when the Lord Jesus will set His foot upon the mountain 00:37:38.69\00:37:43.16 and will set up His kingdom on the earth. 00:37:43.22\00:37:46.59 And so, it is not before... at the second coming 00:37:46.63\00:37:50.53 because when He returns 00:37:50.57\00:37:52.60 the earth becomes like a desolate wilderness. 00:37:52.63\00:37:55.47 Think of it... the... 00:37:55.50\00:37:57.41 the living wicked when Jesus comes will die. 00:37:57.44\00:38:00.88 Bodies all over the world and the wicked dead are dead. 00:38:00.91\00:38:05.41 There's really dead bodies everywhere... 00:38:05.45\00:38:08.02 this is not the time for the Lord Jesus 00:38:08.05\00:38:10.59 to set up His kingdom. 00:38:10.62\00:38:11.95 It's after the 1,000 years when the New Jerusalem descends 00:38:11.99\00:38:15.59 and Jesus sets His foot upon... upon the Mount of Olives. 00:38:15.66\00:38:19.49 Zechariah chapter 14 verse 9 as you said, 00:38:19.53\00:38:22.43 "And the Lord shall be King over all the earth. 00:38:22.46\00:38:26.00 In that day it shall be... 00:38:26.03\00:38:28.80 'The LORD is one,' and His name one. " 00:38:28.84\00:38:31.87 So, this is after the thousand years. 00:38:31.91\00:38:34.38 Notice in 1st Thessalonians chapter 4 00:38:34.41\00:38:36.85 it talks about Jesus coming 00:38:36.88\00:38:38.65 and it says that the righteous dead are raised 00:38:38.68\00:38:42.35 and the living dead are... 00:38:42.38\00:38:44.09 I mean... the living are raised 00:38:44.15\00:38:46.02 and they meet the Lord in the air 00:38:46.05\00:38:47.82 and they go with the Lord for a 1,000 years. 00:38:47.86\00:38:50.43 So, Jesus does not set foot on the earth 00:38:50.46\00:38:52.99 when He comes the second time. 00:38:53.06\00:38:54.56 Panel: Amen... amen... 00:38:54.60\00:38:56.20 Ricky: Thank you Pastor John. 00:38:56.23\00:38:58.23 All right, Sister Shelley, 00:38:58.27\00:39:00.27 I have Question Number 5 here for you. 00:39:00.30\00:39:02.04 Shelley: All right. 00:39:02.07\00:39:03.47 Ricky: What does the Bible say about self-assertion 00:39:03.51\00:39:07.24 versus being passive? 00:39:07.28\00:39:09.04 This is from a Viewer in Kaunakakai... 00:39:09.11\00:39:12.68 I think as I pronounce it, Kaunakakai, Hawaii. 00:39:12.71\00:39:16.05 Shelley: Well, that's very interesting. 00:39:16.08\00:39:18.05 First of all, I just want to tell you that 00:39:18.09\00:39:20.06 the word "passivity" 00:39:20.09\00:39:22.89 to be passive means to be uninterested... 00:39:22.92\00:39:25.96 to be powerless a pushover... 00:39:26.06\00:39:28.73 We don't find the word "Passive... " 00:39:28.76\00:39:32.27 and this is not being meek or humble. 00:39:32.30\00:39:35.74 2nd Timothy 1:7 says... 00:39:35.77\00:39:38.27 God didn't give us a spirit of fear, 00:39:38.31\00:39:40.04 He gave us a spirit of power... great spiritual energy 00:39:40.08\00:39:44.18 and of love... seeking good for others... 00:39:44.21\00:39:47.48 and of sound mind... this is self-discipline 00:39:47.52\00:39:50.75 and proper priorities. 00:39:50.79\00:39:52.79 Christians need to be humble and meek 00:39:52.82\00:39:57.06 and humility simply means 00:39:57.09\00:40:00.13 to be totally dependent upon the Father. 00:40:00.16\00:40:03.50 Numbers 12 verse 3 said... 00:40:03.57\00:40:06.23 Moses was the most humble man on earth. 00:40:06.27\00:40:09.34 In Matthew 11:29, Jesus says, "Come to Me, 00:40:09.40\00:40:12.41 I am gentle and lowly at heart... " 00:40:12.47\00:40:15.08 He had this soothing disposition. 00:40:15.11\00:40:17.71 He was a gentle, mild, meek... but He certainly wasn't passive. 00:40:17.75\00:40:24.25 Now, let's... let's set "passive" aside... 00:40:24.29\00:40:27.62 self-assertive... 00:40:27.66\00:40:29.56 Self-assertive can be a competitive spirit. 00:40:29.62\00:40:33.09 This can be a spirit of, "Hey, I want to satisfy self... 00:40:33.13\00:40:36.77 I want to have... insist on having my own way 00:40:36.80\00:40:40.64 or winning the argument... " 00:40:40.67\00:40:42.00 but the Bible tells us is that Jesus said in Luke 9:23, 00:40:42.04\00:40:47.08 we must pick up our cross and die daily 00:40:47.14\00:40:51.35 and that's what Paul said in 1st Corinthians 15:31. 00:40:51.38\00:40:54.75 "I die daily brothers... " I mean it. 00:40:54.78\00:40:56.79 So, if we have... 00:40:56.82\00:40:59.22 as Galatians 5:20 talks about the flesh... 00:40:59.25\00:41:03.99 if we're being self-assertive... an outburst of wrath 00:41:04.03\00:41:08.60 or selfish ambition... that's works of the flesh. 00:41:08.63\00:41:13.20 If we are Christ assertive, we will not be quarrelsome... 00:41:13.23\00:41:19.94 we're going to be gentle and humble 00:41:19.97\00:41:22.94 but we'll be confident and positive and bold 00:41:23.01\00:41:26.28 and we will have the fruit of the Spirit 00:41:26.31\00:41:29.55 from Galatians 5:22. 00:41:29.65\00:41:31.79 Ending with this quick thought, 00:41:31.82\00:41:34.59 there is absolutely nothing wrong 00:41:34.62\00:41:37.33 with drawing healthy, Biblical boundaries around your life 00:41:37.36\00:41:43.43 because our God is a boundary-setting God. 00:41:43.47\00:41:47.84 Ricky: Amen... amen. 00:41:47.90\00:41:49.77 Thank you Sister. 00:41:49.84\00:41:51.61 Pastor Ryan, I've got your fifth question here 00:41:51.64\00:41:54.78 and you have three minutes to answer this one. 00:41:54.81\00:41:57.71 Ryan: Sure. 00:41:57.95\00:41:59.28 Ricky: It's a long question. Ryan: All right. 00:41:59.35\00:42:00.75 Ricky: In Romans 11 Paul tells us 00:42:00.78\00:42:03.55 that God has not rejected Israel. 00:42:03.59\00:42:06.42 Although some of the branches of the olive tree... 00:42:06.45\00:42:09.39 literal/ethnic Israel... 00:42:09.42\00:42:11.49 have been broken off due to disbelief, 00:42:11.53\00:42:13.80 gentiles who have been grafted in 00:42:13.83\00:42:16.70 should not boast against the broken branches 00:42:16.73\00:42:21.34 because Israel is the root 00:42:21.37\00:42:22.74 and the root supports the branches, 00:42:22.77\00:42:24.77 the branches do not support the root. 00:42:24.81\00:42:26.71 Those broken branches can and will be grafted back in again. 00:42:26.74\00:42:31.68 So, why do some Christians, including 7th Day Adventists, 00:42:31.71\00:42:35.78 believe that the church... specifically the SDA Church... 00:42:35.82\00:42:39.59 has been grafted in Israel's place 00:42:39.62\00:42:42.36 and doesn't acknowledge the spiritual significance 00:42:42.39\00:42:45.03 of literal... ethnic Israel in end-time prophecy? 00:42:45.06\00:42:48.70 Please explain without using Galatians chapter 3 00:42:48.73\00:42:53.54 verses 26 through 29. 00:42:53.57\00:42:55.67 Ryan: All right, well while Galatians 3:26 through 29 00:42:55.70\00:43:00.78 is a fantastic passage, 00:43:00.81\00:43:02.24 I can answer this without that passage. 00:43:02.28\00:43:04.45 First of all, I just would to make a quick correction. 00:43:04.48\00:43:07.12 You stated... 00:43:07.15\00:43:08.58 the person who submitted this question states that 00:43:08.62\00:43:10.65 the root is Israel... 00:43:10.69\00:43:12.02 that's simply... I disagree with that respectfully. 00:43:12.05\00:43:14.26 If you read the Scripture, 00:43:14.32\00:43:15.72 the Bible makes it overwhelmingly clear 00:43:15.76\00:43:17.36 that the root is Jesus Christ. 00:43:17.39\00:43:18.73 Panel: Amen. 00:43:18.76\00:43:20.13 Ryan: We see that in Revelation chapter 22 and verse 16 00:43:20.16\00:43:21.73 where Jesus says, "I am the Root and the Offspring of David, 00:43:21.76\00:43:24.43 the Bright and Morning Star. " 00:43:24.47\00:43:25.93 And it's even repeated in Romans 15 verse 12 where it says 00:43:25.97\00:43:28.97 "There shall be a root of Jesse... " 00:43:29.00\00:43:30.61 referring to Jesus Christ 00:43:30.64\00:43:31.97 "and He who shall rise and rule over the Gentiles, 00:43:32.01\00:43:33.61 in Him the Gentiles shall hope. " 00:43:33.64\00:43:35.84 And so, Christ is that root. 00:43:35.88\00:43:37.41 Never shall we apply that to Israel or any man 00:43:37.45\00:43:40.22 because Christ is the root. 00:43:40.25\00:43:41.58 Now, that being said, 00:43:41.62\00:43:42.98 yes, you're right, Romans 11 is making it clear 00:43:43.02\00:43:45.35 that God has not completely abandoned Israel 00:43:45.42\00:43:48.02 and we never need to teach that, 00:43:48.06\00:43:49.42 I know we call it... 00:43:49.46\00:43:50.79 some people call it "replacement theology... " 00:43:50.83\00:43:52.16 you're trying to replace Israel with others, 00:43:52.19\00:43:53.53 but nonetheless, God has not abandoned the people of Israel, 00:43:53.56\00:43:57.27 in Romans 11 it makes it clear that there was a remnant 00:43:57.33\00:43:59.93 and that remnant... Israel... 00:44:00.07\00:44:01.44 those people who have accepted Christ 00:44:01.47\00:44:03.14 and if they've accepted Christ, 00:44:03.17\00:44:04.57 then according to Galatians chapter 3, 00:44:04.61\00:44:06.91 verses 26 to 29, "Whether Jew, Greek or anyone, 00:44:06.98\00:44:09.64 if you are in Christ, then you are... 00:44:09.68\00:44:11.88 you are heirs according... 00:44:11.91\00:44:13.52 you are seed... from the seed of Abraham, 00:44:13.55\00:44:15.08 and heirs according to the promise. " 00:44:15.12\00:44:16.58 So that being said, yes, God has not abandoned Israel, 00:44:16.62\00:44:18.79 we want to make that clear. 00:44:18.82\00:44:20.16 However, here goes the 70 weeks in a minute and a half, 00:44:20.19\00:44:22.92 to answer this appropriately, 00:44:23.02\00:44:24.83 we have to go back to... to Daniel chapter 9 00:44:24.86\00:44:27.13 and verses 24 through 27, 00:44:27.23\00:44:29.53 and if you read there where we get this idea 00:44:29.56\00:44:31.97 where God has not abandoned but yet He has moved away 00:44:32.00\00:44:36.10 from the Nation of Israel 00:44:36.17\00:44:38.17 as being His beacon of light to the world, 00:44:38.21\00:44:40.58 His champions of the world, 00:44:40.61\00:44:41.94 they had their chance and they failed 00:44:41.98\00:44:43.71 and we see that in the context of the 70-weeks prophecy 00:44:43.75\00:44:46.61 because right here it says in Daniel 9:24, 00:44:46.68\00:44:48.78 God says to them... to Daniel... 00:44:48.82\00:44:50.59 "Seventy weeks are determined for your people... " 00:44:50.62\00:44:53.02 He lists six things that they had to complete 00:44:53.05\00:44:55.32 in 490 years... we know that this is prophetic timing, 00:44:55.36\00:44:58.33 year-day principle has to be applied here 00:44:58.36\00:45:00.33 so, again 490 years they have... this... this... 00:45:00.36\00:45:03.60 this probationary period to clean their act up 00:45:03.63\00:45:07.00 and the most important thing 00:45:07.04\00:45:08.37 to prepare for the arrival of their Messiah 00:45:08.40\00:45:10.87 which God gave them till the very year that He would arrive 00:45:10.91\00:45:14.08 and so, you do the Math, 00:45:14.11\00:45:15.48 they would have known as a nation 00:45:15.51\00:45:17.11 when their Messiah was going to show up 00:45:17.15\00:45:18.75 and the part of the agreement was that 00:45:18.78\00:45:20.32 their probationary time period of them being received back 00:45:20.38\00:45:23.25 as God's beacon of light... His champions of the world, 00:45:23.28\00:45:26.12 to... to... you know, to be His special people... 00:45:26.15\00:45:28.66 that coveted special people... 00:45:28.69\00:45:30.49 in order for them to be that as a nation, 00:45:30.53\00:45:32.63 they had to be prepared for the coming arrival of the Messiah 00:45:32.66\00:45:35.30 to that very year. 00:45:35.33\00:45:36.70 Were they? No... 00:45:36.73\00:45:38.07 Because we see there in Daniel 9:26, it says, 00:45:38.10\00:45:40.84 "And after sixty-two weeks the Messiah shall be cut off, 00:45:40.87\00:45:43.07 but not for Himself... " 00:45:43.14\00:45:44.61 And we know that in the middle of that 70th week 00:45:44.64\00:45:46.24 according to verse 27, 00:45:46.31\00:45:47.64 He was crucified... right... 00:45:47.68\00:45:49.01 He brought an end to all sacrifices and oblations, 00:45:49.04\00:45:50.91 why? Because the Nation of Israel rejected Him as a nation. 00:45:50.95\00:45:55.05 Were there some remnant there that accepted Him? Of course, 00:45:55.08\00:45:57.79 but as a Nation, they murdered the Son of God 00:45:57.82\00:46:00.09 and so, when they murdered the Son of God, 00:46:00.16\00:46:02.29 Jesus even puts this in proper context 00:46:02.36\00:46:04.53 in the parable of the wicked vine dresser... 00:46:04.56\00:46:06.86 the parable of the fig tree in Matthew 21... 00:46:06.90\00:46:08.73 parable of the wicked vine dresser, 00:46:08.76\00:46:10.10 He tells the parable... 00:46:10.13\00:46:11.47 He says, "Look, a guy leaves some land 00:46:11.50\00:46:12.87 and then, you know, he sends the servants 00:46:12.90\00:46:14.47 and they kill the servants. 00:46:14.50\00:46:15.90 Then he sends another wave of servants... 00:46:15.97\00:46:17.31 they kill those servants 00:46:17.34\00:46:18.67 and so, finally, he sends his son... 00:46:18.71\00:46:20.04 surely they'll treat him good, 00:46:20.11\00:46:21.51 they take his son out and murder him as well 00:46:21.54\00:46:23.68 and so it says there in Matthew 21 00:46:23.71\00:46:25.88 that the Pharisees perceived that He was talking about them 00:46:25.91\00:46:29.18 and He was... 00:46:29.22\00:46:30.55 He was using that as an analogy for Israel 00:46:30.59\00:46:32.79 but it's interesting how Jesus ends this, 00:46:32.82\00:46:35.09 He says, "The stone... " this is Matthew 21 00:46:35.12\00:46:36.69 and verse 42, 00:46:36.76\00:46:38.16 "The stone which the builders rejected 00:46:38.19\00:46:40.13 has become the chief cornerstone. 00:46:40.16\00:46:41.46 This is the Lord's doing, 00:46:41.50\00:46:42.83 and it is marvelous in our eyes. 00:46:42.86\00:46:44.20 Therefore I say to you...
