Amen. 00:05:03.63\00:05:06.03 All right, Pastor Lomacang, I'm going to come to you first. 00:05:06.07\00:05:09.50 I feel like, we need a drumroll for our open one, right? 00:05:09.54\00:05:12.81 This is an interesting question 00:05:12.84\00:05:14.18 and I'm looking forward to the answer. 00:05:14.21\00:05:16.01 So, Pastor Lomacang, this person says, 00:05:16.04\00:05:17.95 "What will happen during the 1000 year period 00:05:17.98\00:05:20.92 where Satan will be alone? 00:05:20.95\00:05:23.05 Will there be investigating 00:05:23.08\00:05:24.85 of why some people made it into heaven 00:05:24.89\00:05:27.19 and why some people did not make it into heaven? 00:05:27.22\00:05:30.29 Could this be clarified more?" 00:05:30.33\00:05:31.93 This is coming from Rebecca, in Las Vegas, Nevada. 00:05:31.96\00:05:34.70 Okay. Thank you, Rebecca, for that question. 00:05:34.73\00:05:36.67 A couple of things that need to be specified 00:05:36.70\00:05:38.93 and clarified at the very outset. 00:05:38.97\00:05:41.07 When the judgment is done, you know, when Revelation 22:12 00:05:41.10\00:05:44.51 is declared, he that is righteous, 00:05:44.54\00:05:48.04 he that is holy, he that is unjust, 00:05:48.08\00:05:49.78 he that is filthy, when that declaration is made, 00:05:49.81\00:05:53.01 two categories are formed permanently 00:05:53.05\00:05:54.95 the holy and the righteous, the unjust and the filthy, 00:05:54.98\00:05:58.22 and that decides who's saved and who's lost. 00:05:58.25\00:06:00.96 But the question is, why would there be a judgment? 00:06:00.99\00:06:03.63 Because it's very clear that the Bible says God, 00:06:03.66\00:06:05.53 the Father judges no one, 00:06:05.56\00:06:06.90 but He has given all judgment to the Son. 00:06:06.93\00:06:09.63 So let's go right to Revelation Chapter 20 00:06:09.66\00:06:11.30 and look at the scene as it unfolds. 00:06:11.33\00:06:13.37 Revelation Chapter 20, I'm going to read verse 4, 00:06:13.40\00:06:16.24 because you asked, will there be an investigation? 00:06:16.27\00:06:18.17 The answer is yes. 00:06:18.21\00:06:19.54 Because some people would want to know, well, 00:06:19.57\00:06:20.91 why did so and so not make it or how did so and so make it? 00:06:20.94\00:06:26.28 Some of you shocked that they're there, 00:06:26.31\00:06:27.75 and some will be shocked that they're not there. 00:06:27.78\00:06:30.29 Revelation 20:4, speaking of the redeemed, 00:06:30.32\00:06:32.95 "And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, 00:06:32.99\00:06:35.96 and judgment was committed to them. 00:06:35.99\00:06:38.93 Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded 00:06:38.96\00:06:40.80 for the witness of Jesus and for the Word of God, 00:06:40.83\00:06:43.57 who had not worshiped the beast or his image, 00:06:43.60\00:06:45.87 and had not received his mark on their foreheads 00:06:45.90\00:06:48.04 or on their hands." 00:06:48.07\00:06:49.77 And now speaking about those 00:06:49.80\00:06:51.14 who were sitting on the thrones. 00:06:51.17\00:06:52.51 "And they lived and reigned with Christ for 1000 years." 00:06:52.54\00:06:55.38 Well, the question is, who sat on the throne 00:06:55.41\00:06:56.85 and what were they doing there? 00:06:56.88\00:06:58.81 Let's go to 1 Corinthians 6:2-4, 00:06:58.85\00:07:01.85 because a lot of people wonder, well, 00:07:01.88\00:07:03.22 who's going to be presiding in the judgment? 00:07:03.25\00:07:05.09 Well, when you study Scripture, 00:07:05.12\00:07:06.45 it means those who are our peers, 00:07:06.49\00:07:08.82 those who are in our own peer group will understand 00:07:08.86\00:07:12.39 and rectify the judgment that God has already made. 00:07:12.43\00:07:15.66 The judgment has already been made. 00:07:15.70\00:07:17.13 But the question is, 00:07:17.17\00:07:18.50 on what basis did God make these decisions? 00:07:18.53\00:07:20.97 1 Corinthians 6:2, 00:07:21.00\00:07:23.10 "Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? 00:07:23.14\00:07:26.27 And if the world will be judged by you, 00:07:26.31\00:07:28.71 are you unworthy to judge in the smallest matter?" 00:07:28.74\00:07:31.81 And also, "Do you not know that we shall judge angels? 00:07:31.85\00:07:34.45 Now, which angels? The ones that fell. 00:07:34.48\00:07:36.42 The Bible says they're reserved unto judgment to be punished. 00:07:36.45\00:07:40.16 "How much more then that pertain to this life? 00:07:40.19\00:07:43.99 If then you have judgments concerning these things 00:07:44.03\00:07:46.43 pertaining to life, 00:07:46.46\00:07:47.86 do you appoint those who are least esteemed 00:07:47.90\00:07:50.47 by the church to judge?" 00:07:50.50\00:07:52.10 That's talking about the maturity 00:07:52.13\00:07:53.47 and the relevance to judge. 00:07:53.50\00:07:54.84 Are they at that point yet? 00:07:54.87\00:07:56.20 But let's go to Revelation 20:12, again, 00:07:56.24\00:07:58.71 what did the saints used to investigate 00:07:58.74\00:08:02.44 during the judgment? 00:08:02.48\00:08:04.25 Revelation 20:12, "And I saw the dead, 00:08:04.28\00:08:06.38 small and great standing before God, 00:08:06.41\00:08:08.52 and the books were opened. 00:08:08.55\00:08:10.09 And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. 00:08:10.12\00:08:12.72 And the dead were judged according to their works, 00:08:12.75\00:08:14.89 by the things which were written in the books." 00:08:14.92\00:08:17.56 You have books open. 00:08:17.59\00:08:19.33 One is the Book of Life and what's the other one? 00:08:19.36\00:08:21.33 Revelation 20:15, 00:08:21.36\00:08:23.10 "And anyone not found written in the Book of Life 00:08:23.13\00:08:25.77 was cast into the lake of fire." 00:08:25.80\00:08:28.20 So there's a Book of Life and there's a Book of Death. 00:08:28.24\00:08:30.37 The Book of Death contains all the sins 00:08:30.41\00:08:32.47 that have never been confessed. 00:08:32.51\00:08:34.51 That's why the Bible says we must all give an account 00:08:34.54\00:08:37.31 and we must all stand before the judgment seat of God 00:08:37.35\00:08:39.45 that we may give an account. 00:08:39.48\00:08:41.12 Now get this, the righteous don't give an account 00:08:41.15\00:08:43.52 because their sins have been blotted out 00:08:43.55\00:08:45.25 by the blood of the Lamb. 00:08:45.29\00:08:46.82 They receive eternal life, 00:08:46.86\00:08:48.19 but the wicked now have to account for their sins 00:08:48.22\00:08:50.56 and they will be judged according to their works, 00:08:50.59\00:08:52.99 Revelation 22:12. 00:08:53.03\00:08:56.10 Amen. Very thorough answer. Thank you, Pastor. 00:08:56.13\00:08:58.97 All right, Pastor John Dinzey, 00:08:59.00\00:09:00.34 I'm going to come to you for this next one. 00:09:00.37\00:09:02.20 This is coming from Mitchell in Virginia. 00:09:02.24\00:09:04.77 And they say, "I've been reading the Word 00:09:04.81\00:09:07.31 and would like to ask if Colossians 2:14-16 00:09:07.34\00:09:12.51 would be speaking on the Passover 00:09:12.55\00:09:14.82 and Feast of Tabernacles? 00:09:14.85\00:09:16.89 Are these events part of what was nailed to the cross 00:09:16.92\00:09:20.22 with Christ? 00:09:20.26\00:09:21.79 Thank you, Mitchell, for the question. 00:09:21.82\00:09:23.16 Yes. Colossians 2:14-16. 00:09:23.19\00:09:27.03 I will read verses 14 now, 00:09:27.06\00:09:30.60 "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances 00:09:30.63\00:09:33.10 that was against us, which was contrary to us 00:09:33.13\00:09:37.24 and took it out of the way nailing it to his cross, 00:09:37.27\00:09:40.04 and having spoiled principalities and powers, 00:09:40.08\00:09:42.04 he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it." 00:09:42.08\00:09:46.95 This has been a source of confusion for people 00:09:46.98\00:09:49.88 and we hope to give you some clarification. 00:09:49.92\00:09:54.06 All of the feasts included sacrifices 00:09:54.09\00:09:58.59 when Jesus died on the cross, 00:09:58.63\00:10:00.50 all the sacrificial ordinances and that, 00:10:00.53\00:10:03.60 including the Feast of Passover 00:10:03.63\00:10:05.23 and the Feast of Tabernacles, and the other feasts. 00:10:05.27\00:10:08.77 And so, I want to point you to the writing 00:10:08.80\00:10:13.41 of how this is worded in the Bible. 00:10:13.44\00:10:15.74 You see in the Bible, you have ordinances 00:10:15.78\00:10:19.35 and you have the Ten Commandments. 00:10:19.38\00:10:20.72 Sometimes people get confused, 00:10:20.75\00:10:22.08 and they think the Ten Commandments 00:10:22.12\00:10:23.45 were nailed to the cross, and that is not so. 00:10:23.49\00:10:27.36 Look at Deuteronomy 4:13-14, it says, 00:10:27.39\00:10:30.79 "So he declared to you His covenant 00:10:30.83\00:10:33.19 which He commanded you to perform, 00:10:33.23\00:10:34.96 the Ten Commandments, 00:10:35.00\00:10:36.33 and He wrote them on two tables of stone." 00:10:36.36\00:10:39.50 And then notice what he says, in verse 14, 00:10:39.53\00:10:43.51 "And the Lord commanded me at that time 00:10:43.54\00:10:46.01 to teach you statutes and judgments 00:10:46.04\00:10:48.74 that you might observe, observe them in the land 00:10:48.78\00:10:51.45 which you cross over to possess." 00:10:51.48\00:10:54.28 A difference between the two is made here 00:10:54.32\00:10:56.75 because he talks about the Ten Commandments. 00:10:56.79\00:10:58.92 And then he says, "And the Lord commanded me 00:10:58.95\00:11:01.62 at that time to teach you statutes and judgments." 00:11:01.66\00:11:04.13 So these things, the ordinances were nailed to the cross, 00:11:04.16\00:11:09.00 in Deuteronomy 31:24 and 26. 00:11:09.03\00:11:13.77 Notice how it's written, "So it was, 00:11:13.80\00:11:15.30 when Moses had completed writing the words of this law 00:11:15.34\00:11:18.04 in a book, when they were finished, 00:11:18.07\00:11:20.94 that Moses commanded the Levites, 00:11:20.98\00:11:23.21 who bore the Ark of the Covenant 00:11:23.24\00:11:24.58 of the Lord saying: 00:11:24.61\00:11:25.95 'Take this book of the law, 00:11:25.98\00:11:27.75 and put it beside the Ark of the Covenant 00:11:27.78\00:11:30.29 of the Lord your God, 00:11:30.32\00:11:31.65 that they may be there as a witness against you.'" 00:11:31.69\00:11:35.29 So this is a very interesting wording, 00:11:35.32\00:11:37.43 witness against you 00:11:37.46\00:11:39.73 because that's the way it's worded also, 00:11:39.76\00:11:41.83 when you go into New Testament in Ephesians 00:11:41.86\00:11:43.83 there's similar wording, in Colossians 2, 00:11:43.87\00:11:45.60 there's similar wording. 00:11:45.63\00:11:47.24 And notice that it's written... It was put beside the ark. 00:11:47.27\00:11:51.17 Inside the ark was the Ten Commandments, 00:11:51.21\00:11:55.94 making a difference between the two, 00:11:55.98\00:11:57.81 and were inside the ark, 00:11:57.85\00:12:01.65 and above the ark, what was it? 00:12:01.68\00:12:03.45 The Shekinah glory of God. 00:12:03.49\00:12:06.05 So there was a difference between the two placed 00:12:06.09\00:12:08.92 in the scriptures because of the nature 00:12:08.96\00:12:10.73 of these things and Jesus Christ fulfilled 00:12:10.76\00:12:14.93 the sacrificial system. 00:12:14.96\00:12:16.60 He is the Lamb of God, 00:12:16.63\00:12:18.33 that takes away the sin of the world. 00:12:18.37\00:12:20.17 Jesus fulfilled all of the sacrifices. 00:12:20.20\00:12:22.77 It's a marvelous study to study the tabernacle services. 00:12:22.80\00:12:26.98 And as you see, 00:12:27.01\00:12:28.78 the tabernacle services what took place, 00:12:28.81\00:12:30.98 the confession of sin, 00:12:31.01\00:12:32.51 and how once a year there was a Day of Atonement. 00:12:32.55\00:12:36.22 Jesus Christ is now in the heavenly sanctuary 00:12:36.25\00:12:39.29 in the Most Holy Place 00:12:39.32\00:12:40.82 ministering as our high priest for us. 00:12:40.86\00:12:44.93 Our time is up, 00:12:44.96\00:12:46.29 I guess we'll have to go for the next question. 00:12:46.33\00:12:48.16 All right. 00:12:48.20\00:12:49.53 Well, maybe you can add some more of that later on 00:12:49.56\00:12:50.90 if you need to. 00:12:50.93\00:12:52.27 All right, thank you so much, Pastor Dinzey. 00:12:52.30\00:12:53.64 All right, Pastor James Rafferty, 00:12:53.67\00:12:55.00 we're coming to you this next one. 00:12:55.04\00:12:56.37 Yes, sir. 00:12:56.40\00:12:57.74 This person, this is actually coming from Danelle. 00:12:57.77\00:13:00.04 And Danelle says, "With what is said in Revelation 21." 00:13:00.08\00:13:04.15 And I think they're quoting verse 4 here, 00:13:04.18\00:13:05.88 which references former things passed away? 00:13:05.91\00:13:08.82 And the question is, "Will we still read the Bible 00:13:08.85\00:13:11.42 about all the sin and sorrow that was in the world?" 00:13:11.45\00:13:15.22 Great question. 00:13:15.26\00:13:16.73 Danelle, I wanna look at a Bible verse with you. 00:13:16.76\00:13:19.33 It's in Zechariah Chapter 13, an Old Testament minor prophet. 00:13:19.36\00:13:22.93 Zechariah 13:6, 00:13:22.96\00:13:25.43 that will help answer this question. 00:13:25.47\00:13:26.87 This is what it says there, it says, 00:13:26.90\00:13:28.24 "And one shall say unto Him," talking about Christ, 00:13:28.27\00:13:31.71 "what are these wounds in thine hands? 00:13:31.74\00:13:34.98 Then He shall answer, 00:13:35.01\00:13:36.71 those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends." 00:13:36.75\00:13:40.48 So this is a picture of a time, 00:13:40.52\00:13:43.42 probably in the New Heaven and the New Earth, 00:13:43.45\00:13:45.49 if not in heaven, 00:13:45.52\00:13:46.86 when we realize 00:13:46.89\00:13:48.22 that there are people there who really didn't understand 00:13:48.26\00:13:51.03 the Bible or the plan of salvation, 00:13:51.06\00:13:52.59 and Jesus Christ has these marks in His hands 00:13:52.63\00:13:56.06 and His feet and in His side. 00:13:56.10\00:13:57.43 Now we know that's true 00:13:57.47\00:13:58.80 because when He came back to His disciples 00:13:58.83\00:14:01.27 after His resurrection, 00:14:01.30\00:14:02.64 Doubting Thomas wasn't there the first time 00:14:02.67\00:14:04.27 and he said, I won't believe unless I put my fingers 00:14:04.31\00:14:06.61 in the prints of His hands, et cetera. 00:14:06.64\00:14:09.84 And Jesus appeared to them and said, "Thomas, 00:14:09.88\00:14:12.11 go ahead and put your fingers in the prints of My hands 00:14:12.15\00:14:14.98 and in My side and see and believe." 00:14:15.02\00:14:17.85 These are the marks of sin that remain in the hands 00:14:17.89\00:14:22.19 and feet of Christ throughout all eternity. 00:14:22.22\00:14:24.99 And the Word of God, 00:14:25.03\00:14:26.39 which Jesus is because Jesus is the Word made flesh 00:14:26.43\00:14:29.23 is also immortalized. 00:14:29.26\00:14:31.23 And you might say, well, if the Word of God 00:14:31.27\00:14:33.47 is there and the record of sin is there, 00:14:33.50\00:14:35.10 isn't that going to be like kind of dissonance in eternity 00:14:35.14\00:14:37.97 to know all these things that we've done? 00:14:38.01\00:14:40.08 Well, I've been a Christian for 37 years 00:14:40.11\00:14:42.64 and just in that short period of time, 00:14:42.68\00:14:45.58 my past has become a distant memory. 00:14:45.61\00:14:48.85 Just think of what it's going to be like after 1000 years 00:14:48.88\00:14:51.39 or a million years or a billion years 00:14:51.42\00:14:53.59 or a trillion years. 00:14:53.62\00:14:55.12 We're going to be studying the mysteries of God's Word 00:14:55.16\00:14:57.43 for all eternity, but our connection 00:14:57.46\00:14:59.66 with the actual sins that we may have committed 00:14:59.69\00:15:01.70 or the things in there that are sinful are going 00:15:01.73\00:15:03.60 to become more and more distant and more 00:15:03.63\00:15:05.30 and more foreign to us. 00:15:05.33\00:15:07.17 Nevertheless, God's Word is going to be established 00:15:07.20\00:15:10.07 throughout all eternity 00:15:10.11\00:15:11.44 because God's Word is immortal and eternal. 00:15:11.47\00:15:14.14 We are going to as Malachi 4:2 says, 00:15:14.18\00:15:17.81 "Unto those that fear my name, 00:15:17.85\00:15:19.18 shall the Son of righteousness 00:15:19.21\00:15:20.55 arise with healing in his wings, 00:15:20.58\00:15:22.35 and you will grow forth as calves of the stall." 00:15:22.38\00:15:25.75 You will grow and go forth asiż½calves of the stall. 00:15:25.79\00:15:28.62 So we're going to grow, but the Word of God 00:15:28.66\00:15:30.13 is still going to be central in the context of the plan 00:15:30.16\00:15:33.33 of salvation and the great revelation 00:15:33.36\00:15:35.16 of God's love and God's grace through all eternity. 00:15:35.20\00:15:38.07 Amen. Praise God. Thank you, Brother. 00:15:38.10\00:15:41.14 Pastor Lomacang, this is coming from Chandler. 00:15:41.17\00:15:44.77 Chandler says, "In a previous Q and A, 00:15:44.81\00:15:47.14 Pastor Lomacang answered a question 00:15:47.18\00:15:49.44 about Judas Iscariot's remorse 00:15:49.48\00:15:51.28 and mention that it's different from repentance. 00:15:51.31\00:15:54.38 How is it different from repentance? 00:15:54.42\00:15:56.15 Please explain this idea." Sure. 00:15:56.18\00:15:57.99 A lot of people show remorse. 00:15:58.02\00:15:59.45 I've watched court cases where criminals show remorse, 00:15:59.49\00:16:02.72 but they don't show repentance. 00:16:02.76\00:16:04.69 You know, remorse is often 00:16:04.73\00:16:06.26 sometimes a sorrow for getting caught. 00:16:06.29\00:16:08.80 It's not always a sorrow, 00:16:08.83\00:16:10.17 because I've done something wrong. 00:16:10.20\00:16:12.23 And some people go, I'm so sorry, 00:16:12.27\00:16:14.00 you know, but when you go through further, 00:16:14.04\00:16:17.14 when you look through that further, 00:16:17.17\00:16:18.84 you find that confession always happens 00:16:18.87\00:16:22.14 when a person is caught. 00:16:22.18\00:16:23.58 But is that confession for the removal of that sin 00:16:23.61\00:16:27.32 or is that confession, 00:16:27.35\00:16:29.05 man I'm so sorry, I got caught. 00:16:29.08\00:16:31.09 Right. There was an opportunity for Judas to repent. 00:16:31.12\00:16:35.16 And that is when the Lord was with him in the final, 00:16:35.19\00:16:38.09 in the Last Supper. 00:16:38.13\00:16:39.46 Right. John 13:26-27. 00:16:39.49\00:16:41.90 This is a pivotal moment. Listen to this. 00:16:41.93\00:16:44.93 Speaking to Judas, "Jesus answered, 00:16:44.97\00:16:48.20 'It is he to whom I shall give a piece of bread 00:16:48.24\00:16:51.57 when I have dipped it." 00:16:51.61\00:16:52.94 So he was given the sign, 00:16:52.97\00:16:54.31 you'll know who's going to betray me. 00:16:54.34\00:16:55.88 "And having dipped the bread, He gave it to Judas Iscariot, 00:16:55.91\00:16:59.71 the son of Simon." 00:16:59.75\00:17:01.28 That was a pivotal moment because he heard 00:17:01.32\00:17:03.25 what the Lord said in front of everybody. 00:17:03.28\00:17:05.25 And then here's what God said, "Now, after the piece of bread, 00:17:05.29\00:17:08.42 Satan entered him. 00:17:08.46\00:17:11.49 Then Jesus said to him, 'What you do, do quickly.'" 00:17:11.53\00:17:14.86 At that very moment, 00:17:14.90\00:17:17.17 he had a chance to not do it but the Lord said to him, 00:17:17.20\00:17:20.87 knowing that Satan had entered him, 00:17:20.90\00:17:22.87 that was the pivotal moment. 00:17:22.90\00:17:24.64 Now when he hung himself later on 00:17:24.67\00:17:26.31 and threw the 30 pieces of silver back to the priest 00:17:26.34\00:17:29.81 who had bought him out, 00:17:29.84\00:17:31.18 it was too late, 00:17:31.21\00:17:32.55 because his remorse led to his own death, 00:17:32.58\00:17:35.28 he hung himself. 00:17:35.32\00:17:36.65 Now that was not a repentance but that was, man, 00:17:36.69\00:17:39.12 I got caught, I betrayed the only one 00:17:39.15\00:17:41.99 that could have given me eternal life. 00:17:42.02\00:17:43.83 Now, I may add one more component before I turn this. 00:17:43.86\00:17:46.43 We often see repentance is something 00:17:46.46\00:17:47.80 that we do after we sin, 00:17:47.83\00:17:49.53 but sometimes the Lord wants to repent us for the sin 00:17:49.56\00:17:51.67 we're contemplating. 00:17:51.70\00:17:53.47 And that is of more deep repentance 00:17:53.50\00:17:55.40 than just the sin itself. 00:17:55.44\00:17:57.21 That's why the Lord says, "For all have sinned 00:17:57.24\00:17:59.11 and fall short of the glory of God." 00:17:59.14\00:18:00.91 We have all sinned. 00:18:00.94\00:18:02.28 Sometimes God says, I know what you're about to do, 00:18:02.31\00:18:05.18 you need to repent at that very thought. 00:18:05.21\00:18:07.68 When you do that kind of repentance, 00:18:07.72\00:18:09.58 the act will not follow. 00:18:09.62\00:18:11.25 Many years ago, there was a KGO talk show host in California, 00:18:11.29\00:18:14.26 he says, "It's better to ask for forgiveness 00:18:14.29\00:18:16.86 than to ask for permission." 00:18:16.89\00:18:18.49 And he used to be a priest. 00:18:18.53\00:18:20.03 He said this horrible thing, encouraging people to sin 00:18:20.06\00:18:22.46 and ask for forgiveness, rather than to repent 00:18:22.50\00:18:25.47 instead of asking for permission. 00:18:25.50\00:18:27.57 So repent and not do it rather than do it and then repent. 00:18:27.60\00:18:31.57 Amen. That's a great truth. 00:18:31.61\00:18:34.01 All right, Pastor John Dinzey. 00:18:34.04\00:18:35.74 This one's a short question, but it's necessary, 00:18:35.78\00:18:40.25 "Is sprinkling of water baptism?" 00:18:40.28\00:18:44.79 All right. Let's go to Mark 1:10. 00:18:44.82\00:18:49.29 It says, "And straightway coming up out of the water, 00:18:49.32\00:18:52.33 He saw the heavens opened, 00:18:52.36\00:18:53.70 and the Spirit like a dove descending upon Him." 00:18:53.73\00:18:55.50 This is Jesus when He was baptized. 00:18:55.53\00:18:57.53 And notice that it says, coming up out, 00:18:57.57\00:19:01.40 and then out of the water, He saw the heavens opened, 00:19:01.44\00:19:04.01 and the Spirit like a dove descending upon Him. 00:19:04.04\00:19:06.98 This is because the word baptism or baptizo in Greek 00:19:07.01\00:19:12.18 means to submerge, to bring under, 00:19:12.21\00:19:15.68 and even is a connotation of being made thoroughly wet. 00:19:15.72\00:19:20.99 So sprinkling does not really meet 00:19:21.02\00:19:24.13 the Bible method of baptism. 00:19:24.16\00:19:27.00 There are a few denominations that practice sprinkling, 00:19:27.03\00:19:30.00 but that does not meet 00:19:30.03\00:19:31.70 what the Bible says concerning baptism. 00:19:31.73\00:19:33.70 I'm reading now from Romans 6. 00:19:33.74\00:19:36.04 I will begin in verse 1. 00:19:36.07\00:19:37.84 "What shall we say then? 00:19:37.87\00:19:39.21 Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 00:19:39.24\00:19:41.98 Certainly not! 00:19:42.01\00:19:43.35 How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? 00:19:43.38\00:19:47.22 Or do you not know that as many of us 00:19:47.25\00:19:49.92 as were baptized into Christ were baptized into His death? 00:19:49.95\00:19:54.16 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism." 00:19:54.19\00:19:57.16 See baptism, 00:19:57.19\00:19:59.16 when you're baptized you are buried in the water. 00:19:59.19\00:20:02.10 I will read that again. 00:20:02.13\00:20:03.47 "Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, 00:20:03.50\00:20:07.10 that just as Christ was raised from the dead, 00:20:07.14\00:20:10.01 coming up out of the water, by the glory of the Father, 00:20:10.04\00:20:13.74 even so we also should walk in newness of life." 00:20:13.78\00:20:17.38 So the proper method, 00:20:17.41\00:20:18.85 the way the Bible describes baptism 00:20:18.88\00:20:21.62 is to be brought completely under the water. 00:20:21.65\00:20:24.59 This is the symbolism of dying to the old way of life, 00:20:24.62\00:20:29.39 dying to a life of sin. 00:20:29.42\00:20:30.86 And coming up again identifies 00:20:30.89\00:20:33.70 that you are now a new creation in Jesus Christ. 00:20:33.73\00:20:37.23 So sprinkling does not meet 00:20:37.27\00:20:39.40 what the Bible says concerning baptism. 00:20:39.43\00:20:42.37 Amen. Very thorough. Thank you, Brother. 00:20:42.40\00:20:44.51 All right, Pastor James Rafferty, 00:20:44.54\00:20:46.71 "What are the living righteous doing during the Battle 00:20:46.74\00:20:49.71 of Armageddon?" 00:20:49.74\00:20:51.08 All right. Let's, that's a great question. 00:20:51.11\00:20:52.51 Let's look at the Bible verses on the Battle of Armageddon. 00:20:52.55\00:20:55.52 They're found in Revelation 16:13-16. 00:20:55.55\00:20:59.52 I think the context of these verses will tell us 00:20:59.55\00:21:02.42 what the living righteous are doing. 00:21:02.46\00:21:04.43 Revelation Chapter 16, beginning with verse 14, 00:21:04.46\00:21:06.70 "I saw three unclean spirits like frogs 00:21:06.73\00:21:09.46 come out of the mouth of the dragon, 00:21:09.50\00:21:10.83 and out of the mouth of the beast, 00:21:10.87\00:21:12.20 and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 00:21:12.23\00:21:13.57 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, 00:21:13.60\00:21:16.54 which go forth under the kings of the earth 00:21:16.57\00:21:18.41 and of the whole world, 00:21:18.44\00:21:19.77 to gather them to the battle of the great day 00:21:19.81\00:21:21.74 of God Almighty." 00:21:21.78\00:21:23.11 Verse 15, "Behold, I come as a thief. 00:21:23.14\00:21:25.95 Blessed is he that watches, keeps his garments, 00:21:25.98\00:21:30.25 lest they walk naked and see his shame." 00:21:30.29\00:21:33.56 And then verse 16, 00:21:33.59\00:21:34.92 "And he gathered them together into a place 00:21:34.96\00:21:36.42 called in the Hebrew tongue, Armageddon." 00:21:36.46\00:21:38.49 The only place this word is used in the New Testament, 00:21:38.53\00:21:41.46 and it comes from a Hebrew word in the Old Testament. 00:21:41.50\00:21:44.27 So here we have the Battle of Armageddon. 00:21:44.30\00:21:46.20 It describes the unclean spirits 00:21:46.23\00:21:48.14 like frogs coming out of the mouth of the beast, 00:21:48.17\00:21:49.80 the dragon, and the false prophet. 00:21:49.84\00:21:51.41 It describes the gathering of the people, 00:21:51.44\00:21:55.24 the kings of the world, 00:21:55.28\00:21:57.01 and the whole earth being gathered to this great day 00:21:57.05\00:21:59.68 of battle with God Almighty. 00:21:59.71\00:22:02.02 And then it says, or describes exactly what you're asking, 00:22:02.05\00:22:05.69 what are the living righteous doing 00:22:05.72\00:22:07.06 during the Battle of Armageddon? 00:22:07.09\00:22:08.42 This is what it says, it says, "Behold, I come as a thief, 00:22:08.46\00:22:11.43 blessed is he that watches." 00:22:11.46\00:22:13.73 So they're watching, that's what Jesus tells us 00:22:13.76\00:22:15.56 to do several times in Matthew 24, 00:22:15.60\00:22:17.73 Luke 21, and Mark 13 They're watching 00:22:17.77\00:22:20.54 and they're keeping His garments. 00:22:20.57\00:22:22.70 His garments, being His garments, 00:22:22.74\00:22:24.67 the garments of righteousness. 00:22:24.71\00:22:26.11 Ephesians 6:10-18 00:22:26.14\00:22:29.91 lay this out for us. 00:22:29.94\00:22:31.28 We have the armor of God, 00:22:31.31\00:22:32.68 we have the breastplate of righteousness, 00:22:32.71\00:22:34.52 the righteousness of Jesus Christ, 00:22:34.55\00:22:36.12 the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, 00:22:36.15\00:22:38.55 and the shoe shod with the gospel of peace, 00:22:38.59\00:22:41.02 and we're praying earnestly. 00:22:41.06\00:22:42.42 And I believe in the Battle of Armageddon, 00:22:42.46\00:22:43.79 we had to be praying earnestly 00:22:43.83\00:22:45.46 because the gathering is taking place right now, 00:22:45.49\00:22:47.33 and this battle is going to continue on 00:22:47.36\00:22:49.23 until Jesus comes to Revelation 19 to rescue us 00:22:49.26\00:22:53.37 with those horses and that great army from heaven. 00:22:53.40\00:22:56.17 So keep watching. 00:22:56.20\00:22:57.54 Keep focused, connected with Christ, 00:22:57.57\00:22:59.87 wearing His righteousness, His perfect life, 00:22:59.91\00:23:02.04 His penalty, satisfying death, 00:23:02.08\00:23:03.71 trusting the righteousness of Christ. 00:23:03.75\00:23:05.88 Amen. Beautiful answer. 00:23:05.91\00:23:07.58 Some of us need a garment overhaul. 00:23:07.62\00:23:11.15 Just need to go in our closet and clean out. 00:23:11.19\00:23:12.75 Let Jesus clean us, right, 00:23:12.79\00:23:14.12 we need to put on His garments awaiting His soon return. 00:23:14.16\00:23:17.16 Amen. 00:23:17.19\00:23:18.53 You may be watching us right now, 00:23:18.56\00:23:19.89 you may be tuning in right now for the first time, 00:23:19.93\00:23:21.26 you're watching 3ABN Bible Q and A. 00:23:21.30\00:23:23.80 This is a Bible questions and answers program 00:23:23.83\00:23:26.57 where we answer your Bible questions 00:23:26.60\00:23:28.70 that you submit to us. 00:23:28.74\00:23:30.07 And we want to tell you how and remind you 00:23:30.11\00:23:32.07 how you can send in those questions to us. 00:23:32.11\00:23:34.58 There's three ways you can do that. 00:23:34.61\00:23:36.14 The first way is via email, BibleQA, 00:23:36.18\00:23:39.55 it's right there on the screen BibleQA@3abn.TV 00:23:39.58\00:23:43.72 Again, BibleQA@3abn.TV 00:23:43.75\00:23:48.59 Send us an email or you can text us your question, 00:23:48.62\00:23:52.43 and the number is right there as well 618-228-3975. 00:23:52.46\00:23:57.37 Again, 618-228-3975. 00:23:57.40\00:24:01.60 And if you have an Instagram account, 00:24:01.64\00:24:03.24 we encourage you if you don't, get one, 00:24:03.27\00:24:04.77 because you can submit your questions that way also. 00:24:04.81\00:24:07.44 You can see it right there. 00:24:23.96\00:24:27.10 All right. 00:24:27.13\00:24:28.46 Pastor John Lomacang, coming back to you, my Brother. 00:24:28.50\00:24:32.10 This question is an interesting one. 00:24:32.13\00:24:34.40 It says, "I was doing the math the other day. 00:24:34.44\00:24:37.47 And now I am wondering 00:24:37.51\00:24:39.81 how we get 1290 days 00:24:39.84\00:24:43.08 out of 360 plus 360 plus 180 00:24:43.11\00:24:47.15 when it actually equals 900?" 00:24:47.18\00:24:49.72 Okay. 00:24:49.75\00:24:51.09 This is a very interesting question. 00:24:51.12\00:24:52.45 By the way, the math is all off in this question. 00:24:52.49\00:24:56.26 It's all over the place. 00:24:56.29\00:24:57.63 And I want to respectfully answer that 00:24:57.66\00:25:00.10 because 360 and 360, 720, and 180 brings you to 900, 00:25:00.13\00:25:04.83 but that's not what the text says. 00:25:04.87\00:25:06.23 And by the way, I know you meant 1260 instead of 1290. 00:25:06.27\00:25:10.84 Let's read Daniel 7:25, 00:25:10.87\00:25:12.24 this would be a very quick answer. 00:25:12.27\00:25:14.08 Daniel 7:25. 00:25:14.11\00:25:15.44 And we find this time frame also referred 00:25:15.48\00:25:16.98 to in the New Testament in Book of Revelation. 00:25:17.01\00:25:19.48 He shall speak, 00:25:19.51\00:25:20.85 that is speaking about the fourth beast of Daniel 7, 00:25:20.88\00:25:24.05 "He shall speak pompous words or great words against 00:25:24.09\00:25:26.92 the Most High, 00:25:26.96\00:25:28.29 shall persecute the saints of the Most High, 00:25:28.32\00:25:30.76 and shall think or intend to change times and laws. 00:25:30.79\00:25:34.60 Then the saints shall be given into his hands, 00:25:34.63\00:25:37.73 or into his hand for a time and times and half a time." 00:25:37.77\00:25:41.90 Now, let's look at this in the broad sense. 00:25:41.94\00:25:45.67 The time frame, which you got right is 360 00:25:45.71\00:25:49.08 but times is a doubling of that, which is 720. 00:25:49.11\00:25:52.58 That's where you fell off the cart right there 00:25:52.61\00:25:54.95 because you did 360 twice, 00:25:54.98\00:25:57.22 it's time, times, and half a time. 00:25:57.25\00:26:00.66 360, 720, 180, 00:26:00.69\00:26:03.96 bringing us down to the time frame of 1260. 00:26:03.99\00:26:08.00 You ask yourself the question, how do we get a day for a year? 00:26:08.03\00:26:10.87 Well, Ezekiel 4:6, 00:26:10.90\00:26:14.20 and also Numbers talk about that the time, 00:26:14.24\00:26:16.57 the number of days they were in the wilderness, 00:26:16.60\00:26:18.51 the number of years. 00:26:18.54\00:26:20.08 Ezekiel 4:6, the Bible says, 00:26:20.11\00:26:23.14 "And when you have completed them, 00:26:23.18\00:26:25.38 lie again on your right side, 00:26:25.41\00:26:27.65 then you shall bear the iniquity 00:26:27.68\00:26:29.38 of the house of Judah forty days. 00:26:29.42\00:26:31.92 I have laid on you a day for each year." 00:26:31.95\00:26:35.39 So in the prophetic sense it's day for a year, 00:26:35.42\00:26:37.33 but now John is writing... 00:26:37.36\00:26:39.86 You find Daniel is writing 00:26:39.89\00:26:41.63 and you also find when Revelation talks about 00:26:41.66\00:26:43.70 the same time frame. 00:26:43.73\00:26:45.07 John is writing in a period when the Romans used a sundial. 00:26:45.10\00:26:48.70 And so the Romans added an addition to this time frame 00:26:48.74\00:26:51.14 because the sundial was a 360-degree dial. 00:26:51.17\00:26:54.71 When you ran up on it twice, you went around 720 times 00:26:54.74\00:26:58.08 when you went around half the time it was 180. 00:26:58.11\00:27:00.55 So couple that with Daniel, which is the Old Testament 00:27:00.58\00:27:03.75 time frame of prophetic understanding 00:27:03.79\00:27:06.32 and then John's on both fronts, 00:27:06.35\00:27:08.79 you still come up to 1260 days which is 1260 years. 00:27:08.82\00:27:13.40 Amen. 00:27:13.43\00:27:14.76 God's Word is very clear and very thorough. 00:27:14.80\00:27:17.50 All right, Pastor, John Dinzey, this person is asking, 00:27:17.53\00:27:20.97 "What time period 00:27:21.00\00:27:22.34 is Isaiah 65:20-25 00:27:22.37\00:27:27.44 referring to?" 00:27:27.48\00:27:29.14 Okay, let me try to read that really quick here, 00:27:29.18\00:27:31.65 Isaiah 65:20-25. 00:27:31.68\00:27:33.72 I'm reading so you can see some of the elements 00:27:33.75\00:27:35.45 of the verses and the things that are taking place there. 00:27:35.48\00:27:38.05 It says, "No more shall an infant from there live 00:27:38.09\00:27:40.99 but a few days, nor an old man who has not fulfilled his days, 00:27:41.02\00:27:45.43 for the child shall die one hundred years old, 00:27:45.46\00:27:48.43 but the sinner being one hundred years old 00:27:48.46\00:27:50.40 shall be accursed." 00:27:50.43\00:27:51.90 So right here, at this onset, 00:27:51.93\00:27:55.07 I'd like to tell you that this is not describing 00:27:55.10\00:27:57.44 the New Earth, after sin is already done away with. 00:27:57.47\00:28:01.84 There are some elements of this 00:28:01.88\00:28:03.61 that can be applied to the New Earth. 00:28:03.65\00:28:05.18 What's happening in Isaiah 65:20-25, 00:28:05.21\00:28:07.98 is that the Lord told the people of Israel, 00:28:08.02\00:28:11.85 that He was going to give them like a foretaste of heaven, 00:28:11.89\00:28:14.52 and He was going to do some modification 00:28:14.56\00:28:16.69 to the place where they lived, 00:28:16.73\00:28:18.89 so that they can have like a precursor, 00:28:18.93\00:28:21.40 a foretaste of heaven. 00:28:21.43\00:28:23.23 And He was making promises to them based on being faithful. 00:28:23.26\00:28:27.54 And in those days, some children died before, 00:28:27.57\00:28:31.21 even while being born, 00:28:31.24\00:28:32.94 and over a few days because of diseases, 00:28:32.97\00:28:35.78 but the Lord promised them your child shall die 00:28:35.81\00:28:38.71 one hundred years old, 00:28:38.75\00:28:40.08 and notice that he's talking about sinners, 00:28:40.12\00:28:41.62 therefore this is not the New Jerusalem, 00:28:41.65\00:28:44.02 this is not heaven. 00:28:44.05\00:28:45.39 Now notice what it says the promises He makes them. 00:28:45.42\00:28:47.89 "They shall build houses and inhabit them, 00:28:47.92\00:28:49.86 they shall plant vineyards and eat their fruit. 00:28:49.89\00:28:52.99 They shall not build and another inhabit, 00:28:53.03\00:28:55.03 they shall not plant and another eat. 00:28:55.06\00:28:57.37 For as the days of a tree, 00:28:57.40\00:28:58.73 so shall be the days of My people, 00:28:58.77\00:29:00.40 and My elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. 00:29:00.44\00:29:04.04 They shall not labor in vain, 00:29:04.07\00:29:05.41 nor bring forth children for trouble, 00:29:05.44\00:29:07.21 for they shall be descendants of the blessed of the Lord, 00:29:07.24\00:29:09.81 and their offspring with them. 00:29:09.84\00:29:12.68 And it shall come to pass that before they call, 00:29:12.71\00:29:14.28 I will answer 00:29:14.32\00:29:15.65 and while they are still speaking, I will hear. 00:29:15.68\00:29:17.25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, 00:29:17.29\00:29:19.55 the lion shall eat straw like the ox 00:29:19.59\00:29:22.22 and dust shall be the serpent's food. 00:29:22.26\00:29:25.23 They shall not hurt nor destroy in My holy mountain, ' 00:29:25.26\00:29:28.36 says the Lord.'" 00:29:28.40\00:29:29.80 I point you also to Deuteronomy Chapter 7 00:29:29.83\00:29:32.53 and there you will see many promises 00:29:32.57\00:29:34.04 that the Lord made to them based on obedience, 00:29:34.07\00:29:37.77 and if they did not obey, 00:29:37.81\00:29:39.21 the Lord was not going to fulfill these promises. 00:29:39.24\00:29:41.21 So when were these things to take place? 00:29:41.24\00:29:43.58 If the people of Israel were faithful, 00:29:43.61\00:29:45.65 the Lord was going to bless them temporarily 00:29:45.68\00:29:47.48 with these types of things and also delivered them 00:29:47.52\00:29:50.49 from their enemies. 00:29:50.52\00:29:53.19 But my time is up. 00:29:53.22\00:29:55.36 All right. Okay. 00:29:55.39\00:29:56.73 Well, thank you so much for that answer. 00:29:56.76\00:29:58.09 Appreciate it. 00:29:58.13\00:29:59.46 All right, Pastor Rafferty, this person is asking, 00:29:59.49\00:30:01.76 "How do I lead a family that is so entertained 00:30:01.80\00:30:05.03 by some of the ungodly imagery Hollywood 00:30:05.07\00:30:07.90 and other media outlets display?" 00:30:07.94\00:30:10.41 Really good question. 00:30:10.44\00:30:12.11 Job Chapter 1 really gives us a good answer for that. 00:30:12.14\00:30:14.61 In Job 1:1, 00:30:14.64\00:30:16.71 "You have this man in the land of Uz, 00:30:16.75\00:30:18.25 whose name was Job, and this man was perfect." 00:30:18.28\00:30:20.95 And, of course, we argue a lot about perfection 00:30:20.98\00:30:22.78 and perfectionism. 00:30:22.82\00:30:24.15 But the context is of his perfection 00:30:24.19\00:30:26.19 is the answer to this question. 00:30:26.22\00:30:27.62 How do I lead a family that is so entertained 00:30:27.66\00:30:30.43 by some of ungodly imagery, Hollywood and say, 00:30:30.46\00:30:33.13 how do I lead them? 00:30:33.16\00:30:34.50 Well, Job had a similar situation. 00:30:34.53\00:30:36.83 He was so concerned about his kids, 00:30:36.87\00:30:39.10 they were 10 of them, 00:30:39.13\00:30:40.47 who are partying in their houses, 00:30:40.50\00:30:41.84 having these birthday parties, these get-togethers. 00:30:41.87\00:30:43.84 He was so concerned about them because he was afraid 00:30:43.87\00:30:45.64 they might be cursing God in their hearts. 00:30:45.67\00:30:47.28 And by the way, that is an indication of Job's perfection. 00:30:47.31\00:30:50.81 The reason why Job is called a perfect man 00:30:50.85\00:30:52.65 is because of the way he responds to his children. 00:30:52.68\00:30:56.38 He responds by getting up early in the morning, we're told, 00:30:56.42\00:30:59.62 and praying for every one of them. 00:30:59.65\00:31:01.46 He responds by offering sacrifices in their behalf, 00:31:01.49\00:31:05.43 sacrificing his time, 00:31:05.46\00:31:06.80 and sacrificing stuff for his kids. 00:31:06.83\00:31:09.16 Why? Because they were good kids? 00:31:09.20\00:31:10.97 No, because he was afraid they weren't good kids, 00:31:11.00\00:31:12.87 because he was afraid they were caught up in Hollywood, 00:31:12.90\00:31:14.50 because he was afraid they were doing things 00:31:14.54\00:31:15.87 that really weren't in harmony with God's will for their lives 00:31:15.90\00:31:19.51 and so this led him as a godly man, 00:31:19.54\00:31:22.18 as a godly parent. 00:31:22.21\00:31:23.55 This led him to pray earnestly for them, 00:31:23.58\00:31:26.15 to rise up early in the morning for them, 00:31:26.18\00:31:27.58 and to sacrifice his stuff in their behalf. 00:31:27.62\00:31:29.58 So, if you love God, 00:31:29.62\00:31:31.52 if you are filled with the peace of God, 00:31:31.55\00:31:33.46 and the joy of God, and the happiness of God, 00:31:33.49\00:31:35.06 if you know that eternal life is yours, 00:31:35.09\00:31:37.73 and you see your family caught up 00:31:37.76\00:31:40.00 addicted to Hollywood, 00:31:40.03\00:31:41.36 addicted to things that that aren't good for them, 00:31:41.40\00:31:43.33 that aren't spiritually nurturing them. 00:31:43.37\00:31:45.57 Follow the example of Job, get up early in the morning, 00:31:45.60\00:31:48.27 and pray for your family. 00:31:48.30\00:31:50.57 Sacrifice your stuff, 00:31:50.61\00:31:52.44 give your stuff in their behalf, 00:31:52.47\00:31:54.98 so that they can know that you love them 00:31:55.01\00:31:56.88 and in knowing that you love them, 00:31:56.91\00:31:58.78 they can see a picture 00:31:58.81\00:32:00.15 of God's unconditional love for them. 00:32:00.18\00:32:01.58 Because we're told in Romans 2:4, 00:32:01.62\00:32:04.42 "It is the goodness of God that leads us to repentance." 00:32:04.45\00:32:07.56 And that word repentance means to turn around. 00:32:07.59\00:32:10.26 The only way that people can turn around 00:32:10.29\00:32:12.79 according to the Bible, 00:32:12.83\00:32:14.16 the only way their lives can be turned around 00:32:14.20\00:32:15.83 is if they see the goodness of God, 00:32:15.86\00:32:17.77 the goodness of God turns our life around. 00:32:17.80\00:32:20.07 So let the love of God shining through you 00:32:20.10\00:32:23.57 turn the lives of your family around. 00:32:23.61\00:32:26.17 Amen. Thank you so much, Brother. 00:32:26.21\00:32:28.11 Appreciate that. All right. 00:32:28.14\00:32:29.48 Pastor Lomacang, coming back to you. 00:32:29.51\00:32:31.45 This is coming from Pam from Illinois. 00:32:31.48\00:32:33.85 And she says this question is for Pastor Lomacang 00:32:33.88\00:32:36.79 because of his comment. 00:32:36.82\00:32:38.79 And she's quoting you, "If the devil is angry with me, 00:32:38.82\00:32:41.49 I must be doing something right. 00:32:41.52\00:32:43.73 Does the Bible or Ellen White 00:32:43.76\00:32:45.59 give examples in correlation to this?" 00:32:45.63\00:32:48.23 And then she goes on to say, "You see, 00:32:48.26\00:32:49.60 I experienced a visit from an evil spirit 00:32:49.63\00:32:51.47 and this was the same day one of my siblings didn't trust 00:32:51.50\00:32:54.47 that I divided my mother's estate equally 00:32:54.50\00:32:56.97 but with God's help every penny was accounted 00:32:57.01\00:32:59.24 for and the estate was settled. 00:32:59.27\00:33:00.84 I always wanted to know if I did the right thing. 00:33:00.88\00:33:03.35 Why was this evil spirit allowed to get close enough 00:33:03.38\00:33:06.45 to touch me to try to instill fear into me?" 00:33:06.48\00:33:11.32 Thank you for the question, Pam. 00:33:11.35\00:33:14.62 First answer. 00:33:14.66\00:33:16.19 If you are a follower of Christ, 00:33:16.22\00:33:18.03 you are on Satan's hit list. 00:33:18.06\00:33:21.83 You don't even have to do anything 00:33:21.86\00:33:23.67 but just accept Jesus 00:33:23.70\00:33:25.23 and you align yourself with Christ, 00:33:25.27\00:33:28.27 you automatically have an enemy. 00:33:28.30\00:33:30.91 The Bible makes it very, very clear. 00:33:30.94\00:33:32.27 That's why 1 Peter 5:8 00:33:32.31\00:33:33.78 and when I said that if I'm doing, 00:33:33.81\00:33:35.34 I must be doing something right. 00:33:35.38\00:33:36.71 Yes. 00:33:36.75\00:33:38.08 I'll show you the scriptures that support that. 00:33:38.11\00:33:40.38 Let's start with 1 Peter 5:8, 00:33:40.42\00:33:43.39 "Be sober, be vigilant, 00:33:43.42\00:33:46.59 because your adversary the devil walks about 00:33:46.62\00:33:49.09 like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." 00:33:49.12\00:33:53.53 That is to every Christian, how do I know that? 00:33:53.56\00:33:57.73 2 Peter 3:12. 00:33:57.77\00:33:59.63 Yes, and all who live godly, 00:33:59.67\00:34:03.04 in Christ Jesus Will suffer persecution. 00:34:03.07\00:34:07.01 Not might or possibility but will. 00:34:07.04\00:34:11.01 Here's the key. I've asked people this before. 00:34:11.05\00:34:13.11 If you're doing something right, is the devil happy? 00:34:13.15\00:34:15.05 The answer is no. 00:34:15.08\00:34:16.42 If you're doing something wrong, is he happy? 00:34:16.45\00:34:18.52 Yes. 00:34:18.55\00:34:19.89 If you're doing something right, 00:34:19.92\00:34:21.26 what is his attitude towards you? 00:34:21.29\00:34:22.62 We just read that he wants to devour you. 00:34:22.66\00:34:24.59 He wants to make your life miserable. 00:34:24.63\00:34:26.86 That's why James 4:7 says, "Therefore submit to God," 00:34:26.90\00:34:30.80 what is our action, 00:34:30.83\00:34:32.17 "resist the devil and he will flee from you. 00:34:32.20\00:34:35.20 Draw near to God and God will draw near to you." 00:34:35.24\00:34:37.81 Without resistance, 00:34:37.84\00:34:39.17 the devil will have access to us, 00:34:39.21\00:34:40.78 without any power on our own to be able to resist him. 00:34:40.81\00:34:43.65 That's why Paul says, 00:34:43.68\00:34:45.05 we don't wrestle against flesh and blood. 00:34:45.08\00:34:47.45 Ephesians 6:16, how are we safe? 00:34:47.48\00:34:50.89 "Above all, taking the shield of faith 00:34:50.92\00:34:53.12 with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts 00:34:53.15\00:34:58.19 of the wicked one." 00:34:58.23\00:35:00.50 But what about the temptations? 00:35:00.53\00:35:02.40 Anything that comes your way, the Lord measures it. 00:35:02.43\00:35:06.13 He doesn't allow any temptation or trial to come your way 00:35:06.17\00:35:09.90 that you through His grace cannot handle. 00:35:09.94\00:35:12.17 1 Corinthians 10:13, 00:35:12.21\00:35:13.74 "No temptation has overtaken you 00:35:13.78\00:35:15.21 except such as is common to man." 00:35:15.24\00:35:17.58 But God is faithful, 00:35:17.61\00:35:18.95 who will not allow you to be tempted beyond 00:35:18.98\00:35:20.45 what you are able, but with the temptation, 00:35:20.48\00:35:22.88 and we also had the trial, also make a way of escape 00:35:22.92\00:35:25.75 that you may be able to bear it. 00:35:25.79\00:35:27.12 So yes, if you're doing something right, 00:35:27.16\00:35:29.39 you are on the devil's hit list. 00:35:29.42\00:35:31.33 All right. That's very clear. 00:35:31.36\00:35:33.73 In fact, on the point that Pastor Lomacang 00:35:33.76\00:35:35.76 just referenced 1 Corinthians 10:13, 00:35:35.80\00:35:39.47 Pastor Dinzey, Maureen asked this question. 00:35:39.50\00:35:43.34 She says, "My references are taken from the NIV. 00:35:43.37\00:35:46.27 In the model prayer, we must ask God 00:35:46.31\00:35:48.54 not to lead us into temptation. 00:35:48.58\00:35:51.65 In 1 Corinthians 10:13, and she says, 00:35:51.68\00:35:55.02 with emphasis to the second half, 00:35:55.05\00:35:57.22 and God is faithful," which pastor just quoted it. 00:35:57.25\00:35:59.55 "He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. 00:35:59.59\00:36:03.16 If God is the source of all goodness, 00:36:03.19\00:36:05.29 why are we to ask him not to lead us into temptation? 00:36:05.33\00:36:08.86 Am I to understand that God temps or tests us? 00:36:08.90\00:36:12.27 I always thought that the enemy brought our trials, 00:36:12.30\00:36:14.87 tribulations, temptations, et cetera to us, 00:36:14.90\00:36:18.14 and God helps us through them. 00:36:18.17\00:36:19.51 Can you please help me with this?" 00:36:19.54\00:36:22.81 Thank you for your question. 00:36:22.84\00:36:24.81 I'm going to read first, 00:36:24.85\00:36:26.18 James 1:13 00:36:26.21\00:36:29.12 that clarifies the aspect about God 00:36:29.15\00:36:33.19 tempting us or not tempting us? 00:36:33.22\00:36:35.22 James Chapter 1, it says, 00:36:35.26\00:36:36.59 "Let no one say when he is tempted..." 00:36:36.62\00:36:38.56 James 1:13, "Let no one say when he is tempted, 00:36:38.59\00:36:41.96 I am tempted by God, 00:36:42.00\00:36:44.10 for God cannot be tempted by evil, 00:36:44.13\00:36:47.60 nor does He Himself tempt anyone." 00:36:47.64\00:36:51.57 So it is very clear statement in the Book of James 00:36:51.61\00:36:53.98 that God does not tempt anyone. 00:36:54.01\00:36:57.41 So what does it mean then when it says, 00:36:57.45\00:37:00.42 lead us not into temptation. 00:37:00.45\00:37:02.52 I'm going to Matthew Chapter 6, 00:37:02.55\00:37:04.55 and I'm going to back up a little bit to verse 11 00:37:04.59\00:37:08.02 to give a little bit of context. 00:37:08.06\00:37:09.39 It says, "Give us this day, our daily bread." 00:37:09.42\00:37:11.83 Now notice verse 12, "And forgive us our debts," 00:37:11.86\00:37:15.16 this is talking about our sins, 00:37:15.20\00:37:17.03 "and forgive us our sins, as we forgive our debtors, 00:37:17.07\00:37:20.04 those who have trespassed against us." 00:37:20.07\00:37:22.44 So when verse 13 comes around, 00:37:22.47\00:37:25.27 "And do not lead us into temptation, 00:37:25.31\00:37:27.14 but deliver us from the evil one." 00:37:27.18\00:37:29.44 We have to understand that the person that is praying 00:37:29.48\00:37:33.15 is asking the Lord, Lord, forgive me for my sins, 00:37:33.18\00:37:37.32 and do not allow me 00:37:37.35\00:37:40.66 to fall into sin again. 00:37:40.69\00:37:43.36 This is a way you can understand this 00:37:43.39\00:37:45.23 and lead us not into temptation. 00:37:45.26\00:37:46.59 Do not allow me to fall into sin. 00:37:46.63\00:37:48.96 This is a person that wants to walk with the Lord 00:37:49.00\00:37:52.07 and be faithful to the Lord because he realizes, 00:37:52.10\00:37:54.77 I don't want to be in a state of sin, 00:37:54.80\00:37:57.51 and I want to be forgiven. 00:37:57.54\00:37:59.11 I want to be faithful to you. 00:37:59.14\00:38:01.14 And this is a wonderful prayer in the sense that it identifies 00:38:01.18\00:38:05.58 with the word repentance, 00:38:05.61\00:38:06.95 you do not want to continue sinning. 00:38:06.98\00:38:08.85 Now, some people have taken this as to say 00:38:08.88\00:38:11.32 that because the word temptation 00:38:11.35\00:38:12.69 can also be applied to trials. 00:38:12.72\00:38:14.09 In this case, you will say, 00:38:14.12\00:38:15.69 do not allow me to go into sword trials 00:38:15.72\00:38:17.93 that will overwhelm me. 00:38:17.96\00:38:19.96 But God is faithful, 00:38:20.00\00:38:21.73 who will not allow you to be tempted above that 00:38:21.76\00:38:23.93 what you are able. 00:38:23.97\00:38:25.30 Yes, the devil is the one that brings the trial, 00:38:25.33\00:38:27.27 God permits those things to come to us 00:38:27.30\00:38:29.84 that He has weighed and carefully measured, 00:38:29.87\00:38:32.81 so that you do not get overwhelmed 00:38:32.84\00:38:35.51 and He provides you the power because it says, 00:38:35.54\00:38:38.31 "With God, all things are possible." 00:38:38.35\00:38:40.28 Amen. Amen. 00:38:40.32\00:38:41.65 Thank you, Brother. Great answer. 00:38:41.68\00:38:43.72 Pastor Rafferty, coming to you for this one. 00:38:43.75\00:38:45.99 This comes from Renata in Washington. 00:38:46.02\00:38:48.36 And she says, "Please explain 00:38:48.39\00:38:50.29 why Jesus has to minister for us in heaven. 00:38:50.33\00:38:53.19 We are saved already because Jesus already paid, 00:38:53.23\00:38:55.80 saved and redeemed us. 00:38:55.83\00:38:57.67 Maybe we don't fully understand His ministry in heaven." 00:38:57.70\00:39:00.97 That is a really good question, Renata. 00:39:01.00\00:39:03.34 And I want to look at a Bible verse with you. 00:39:03.37\00:39:05.31 This one is found in 2 Corinthians 1:10. 00:39:05.34\00:39:09.81 And it really describes, you said, 00:39:09.84\00:39:11.31 maybe we don't understand His ministry, 00:39:11.35\00:39:13.05 maybe we don't understand, you know, 00:39:13.08\00:39:14.52 how salvation works. 00:39:14.55\00:39:16.02 So 2 Corinthians 1:10 00:39:16.05\00:39:17.62 explains it perhaps in a very simple way. 00:39:17.65\00:39:20.56 It's talking about Jesus Christ, 00:39:20.59\00:39:22.16 it's talking about God, it's talking about the plan 00:39:22.19\00:39:23.76 of salvation and basically says, 00:39:23.79\00:39:25.46 who delivered us from so great a death that's past tense, 00:39:25.49\00:39:30.33 and does deliver that's present tense, 00:39:30.37\00:39:33.54 in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us, 00:39:33.57\00:39:37.11 that's future tense. 00:39:37.14\00:39:38.51 Salvation is not a one-time deal 00:39:38.54\00:39:40.64 that was settled back in December of 1984. 00:39:40.68\00:39:45.78 Salvation is a past, present, and future experience 00:39:45.81\00:39:49.85 that we have with Christ, justification, sanctification, 00:39:49.88\00:39:52.39 and finally, glorification. 00:39:52.42\00:39:54.26 It's a process that takes place in our lives. 00:39:54.29\00:39:56.89 And that's why Christ ministers for us 00:39:56.93\00:39:58.66 in the heavenly sanctuary. 00:39:58.69\00:40:00.03 Christ is ministering for us in the heavenly sanctuary 00:40:00.06\00:40:02.16 because Christ has saved us past tense, 00:40:02.20\00:40:05.27 and that salvation comes through his merit 00:40:05.30\00:40:07.70 or righteousness apply to us 00:40:07.74\00:40:09.37 when we pray to Him in heaven 00:40:09.40\00:40:10.87 for the forgiveness of our sins, 00:40:10.91\00:40:12.54 and then salvation, God is ministering to us. 00:40:12.57\00:40:15.18 That's why it says in Hebrews 4:15-16, 00:40:15.21\00:40:19.01 "For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched 00:40:19.05\00:40:21.32 with the feeling of our infirmities, 00:40:21.35\00:40:23.15 but it was in all points tempted like 00:40:23.18\00:40:24.89 as we are yet without sin. 00:40:24.92\00:40:26.42 Let us therefore come boldly before the throne of grace, 00:40:26.45\00:40:30.19 that we may receive mercy and find grace 00:40:30.23\00:40:32.96 and help in time of need." 00:40:32.99\00:40:34.33 There's a three full power there that God wants us 00:40:34.36\00:40:37.37 to tap into, 00:40:37.40\00:40:38.73 and so has been shared just recently here. 00:40:38.77\00:40:41.14 There's no temptation that comes to us that God 00:40:41.17\00:40:43.44 is not able to save us from. 00:40:43.47\00:40:44.81 All things work together for good to them 00:40:44.84\00:40:46.31 that love the Lord and are called according 00:40:46.34\00:40:47.68 to His purpose. 00:40:47.71\00:40:49.04 So God is in the business of past tense saving us, 00:40:49.08\00:40:51.81 present tense, saving us and future tense, saving us. 00:40:51.85\00:40:54.58 He is in the business of working out our salvation 00:40:54.62\00:40:57.75 in the heavenly sanctuary with justification, 00:40:57.79\00:40:59.59 sanctification, and redemption. 00:40:59.62\00:41:01.66 Amen. 00:41:01.69\00:41:03.02 That present truth gets you on fire down there, I can see. 00:41:03.06\00:41:04.76 Amen. Amen. 00:41:04.79\00:41:07.00 I like to praise God. All right, Pastor Lomacang. 00:41:07.03\00:41:09.70 This next question is actually a really good one 00:41:09.73\00:41:11.77 coming from Elena. 00:41:11.80\00:41:13.13 And she says, "My question is in regards 00:41:13.17\00:41:15.37 to reverence and worship in our churches. 00:41:15.40\00:41:18.37 Pastor Lomacang, in a sermon found on YouTube, 00:41:18.41\00:41:21.48 preached about the impact of music, 00:41:21.51\00:41:23.31 and I've noticed a lot of what he warned 00:41:23.35\00:41:25.08 about in the music played in our church 00:41:25.11\00:41:27.72 and it seems I'm the only one worried. 00:41:27.75\00:41:31.62 She goes, not only that, 00:41:31.65\00:41:33.59 is it appropriate to have a concert-like service 00:41:33.62\00:41:36.42 with lights and all? 00:41:36.46\00:41:37.99 Why aren't we using hymnals anymore? 00:41:38.03\00:41:40.13 Am I wrong and behaving like a Pharisee? 00:41:40.16\00:41:42.70 I've been praying to try to find kind words 00:41:42.73\00:41:45.30 to talk to the pastor, 00:41:45.33\00:41:46.67 but he's been commenting on how we are a diverse church, 00:41:46.70\00:41:49.50 and I'm not the confrontational type. 00:41:49.54\00:41:52.07 I've had to leave the service because it was too loud. 00:41:52.11\00:41:54.74 Maybe I just need to find a new church. 00:41:54.78\00:41:57.55 But I'm really concerned, 00:41:57.58\00:41:58.95 what would be the right approach? 00:41:58.98\00:42:00.78 If I'm wrong, please let me know. 00:42:00.82\00:42:02.62 I feel I'm being judgmental?" 00:42:02.65\00:42:05.05 I liked the way she phrased that question 00:42:05.09\00:42:07.12 because she didn't come down in a definitive way I'm right, 00:42:07.16\00:42:09.39 and he's wrong or any other way. 00:42:09.42\00:42:11.79 But when we talk about the issue of music, 00:42:11.83\00:42:13.43 and music is so much a part of my life. 00:42:13.46\00:42:16.60 Before I got into pastoring, I was into music 00:42:16.63\00:42:18.67 and I'm still singing. 00:42:18.70\00:42:20.54 I have a wide range of music 00:42:20.57\00:42:22.40 that I like to listen to gospel music, 00:42:22.44\00:42:25.67 Christian music, traditional music, 00:42:25.71\00:42:27.58 and they're all variants of the gospel. 00:42:27.61\00:42:30.65 But when you talk about music and its impact, 00:42:30.68\00:42:32.18 it's critical to understand the proper purpose for music. 00:42:32.21\00:42:36.15 Sometimes music has become a suitable 00:42:36.18\00:42:38.79 substitute for the depth and knowledge of God's Word. 00:42:38.82\00:42:42.19 I don't support that when the sermon is, 00:42:42.22\00:42:44.46 when you get a sermon up, 00:42:44.49\00:42:45.83 but you get 45 to 50 minutes of music. 00:42:45.86\00:42:48.03 And I've seen people say I've gone home starved, 00:42:48.06\00:42:50.80 but I got caught into the 711. 00:42:50.83\00:42:53.40 Seven words repeated 11 times. 00:42:53.44\00:42:56.04 Other times music has been so minimized, 00:42:56.07\00:42:59.37 that some churches services just seemed dry, 00:42:59.41\00:43:02.44 it's like one song, that's it and is like, 00:43:02.48\00:43:05.65 absolutely no emotion at all. 00:43:05.68\00:43:08.35 There is a biblically scriptural prescription 00:43:08.38\00:43:11.25 for what worship and praise 00:43:11.29\00:43:13.49 should be and that's Psalm 100. 00:43:13.52\00:43:15.72 The Bible says, "Make a joyful shout to the Lord, 00:43:15.76\00:43:17.43 a joyful noise, all you lands! 00:43:17.46\00:43:19.13 Serve the Lord with gladness, 00:43:19.16\00:43:20.66 come before His presence with singing." 00:43:20.70\00:43:22.90 And it goes on, "Know that the Lord He is God, 00:43:22.93\00:43:25.27 it is He who made us 00:43:25.30\00:43:27.17 and we did not make ourselves." 00:43:27.20\00:43:28.70 I'll let you read the rest of that. 00:43:28.74\00:43:30.54 "Enter his courts with thanksgiving 00:43:30.57\00:43:31.91 and his presence with praise." 00:43:31.94\00:43:34.14 But here's the thing I want to bring out. 00:43:34.18\00:43:36.68 Notice that volume style of praise 00:43:36.71\00:43:39.15 and musical instruments were not the specific functions 00:43:39.18\00:43:42.75 of Psalm 100. 00:43:42.78\00:43:44.99 People tend to think that musical instruments are evil. 00:43:45.02\00:43:47.56 I'm not one of those. 00:43:47.59\00:43:49.06 Some people say the drum, the flute, 00:43:49.09\00:43:50.53 the horn, the bass, the guitar, 00:43:50.56\00:43:52.09 the Bible doesn't speak of any evil instruments, 00:43:52.13\00:43:54.00 it's the use of those. 00:43:54.03\00:43:55.36 That's right. 00:43:55.40\00:43:56.73 That curve that crossed the line to make that 00:43:56.77\00:43:58.10 instrument offensive. 00:43:58.13\00:43:59.47 If somebody was raised in a classical background, 00:43:59.50\00:44:01.44 well, they're not really into any kind of music 00:44:01.47\00:44:03.41 that may deviate from that. 00:44:03.44\00:44:04.94 There was a time in the Christian church 00:44:04.97\00:44:06.31 that pianos were not allowed. 00:44:06.34\00:44:07.68 Right. 00:44:07.71\00:44:09.04 And there are still some places in the world 00:44:09.08\00:44:10.41 that pianos are still not used. 00:44:10.45\00:44:11.78 And I was in Africa, in some places, 00:44:11.81\00:44:13.15 they don't use pianos, 00:44:13.18\00:44:14.52 because they see it as a bar instrument. 00:44:14.55\00:44:17.05 But here's something that I would like you to really use 00:44:17.09\00:44:19.25 as a principle. 00:44:19.29\00:44:21.89 If the music is in vain repetition, 00:44:21.92\00:44:24.19 Matthew 6:7 applies as well as it does to prayer. 00:44:24.23\00:44:28.20 Don't use vain repetition, Lord, I love You, Lord, 00:44:28.23\00:44:30.20 I love You, Lord, I love You, Lord, I love You. 00:44:30.23\00:44:31.93 That's not bringing out emotion, 00:44:31.97\00:44:34.24 but that's focusing on emotionalism. 00:44:34.27\00:44:37.11 That's focusing worship in the wrong direction 00:44:37.14\00:44:39.87 but if the music moves you, praise God. 00:44:39.91\00:44:42.31 But here's my closing point 00:44:42.34\00:44:44.11 and I've gone over my time, but I have to say this. 00:44:44.15\00:44:46.35 When the Hebrews were on the plain of Dura, 00:44:46.38\00:44:49.35 Nebuchadnezzar said, "Bow when the music is played." 00:44:49.38\00:44:51.85 Why didn't they bow? 00:44:51.89\00:44:53.22 And here's something I always remember, 00:44:53.25\00:44:54.59 God showed this to me. 00:44:54.62\00:44:56.32 When music leads you to bow at the wrong altar, 00:44:56.36\00:44:59.83 it ceases to be worship to the true God. 00:44:59.86\00:45:03.06 The question is, to what altar is your music leading you? 00:45:03.10\00:45:06.50 If it's taking you where you've come from, 00:45:06.53\00:45:08.30 then I think you should find another place to worship. 00:45:08.34\00:45:11.21 Amen. Well said, Brother. 00:45:11.24\00:45:12.57 Thank you for that. All right, Pastor Dinzey. 00:45:12.61\00:45:14.98 This is your last question 00:45:15.01\00:45:16.44 before we get into our bonus round. 00:45:16.48\00:45:18.45 And this is coming from April, I believe in Connecticut. 00:45:18.48\00:45:21.92 And she says, "Pastor Dinzey, 00:45:21.95\00:45:23.28 this is a follow-up question regarding Sabbath keeping. 00:45:23.32\00:45:26.22 In one segment, 00:45:26.25\00:45:27.59 a question was asked about breaking the Sabbath, 00:45:27.62\00:45:29.62 if one has to work 9 am to 5 pm 00:45:29.66\00:45:32.36 and the sunsets at 4 pm. 00:45:32.39\00:45:34.63 My question is, how about those countries 00:45:34.66\00:45:37.00 such as Finland, Norway, 00:45:37.03\00:45:38.73 where sometimes the sun would shine for 73 hours straight? 00:45:38.77\00:45:43.54 It goes on to say, or the sun would never show up 00:45:43.57\00:45:45.67 during wintertime? 00:45:45.71\00:45:47.28 Is the Sabbath still observed from sunset to sunset?" 00:45:47.31\00:45:50.55 It's a good question. 00:45:50.58\00:45:51.98 It really is a good question. 00:45:52.01\00:45:54.95 I first want to establish that the Bible measures 00:45:54.98\00:45:57.52 or God measures days, 00:45:57.55\00:45:59.19 according to Genesis 1 from evening to evening. 00:45:59.22\00:46:02.42 And the evening and the morning was the first day, 00:46:02.46\00:46:04.93 evening and the morning was the second day, et cetera. 00:46:04.96\00:46:07.43 So when we say that 00:46:07.46\00:46:09.06 the Sabbath begins in the evening, 00:46:09.10\00:46:10.83 we're talking about Friday evening begins the Sabbath 00:46:10.87\00:46:13.84 until Saturday evening, what we call Saturday evening, 00:46:13.87\00:46:17.01 that's the way the Sabbath is measured. 00:46:17.04\00:46:18.81 But what about those countries where the sun is out, 00:46:18.84\00:46:22.14 and you don't see it go down, or the sun doesn't come up? 00:46:22.18\00:46:26.21 Well, I want to thank Brother Tim Lass that lived in Alaska. 00:46:26.25\00:46:29.12 They helped me to understand 00:46:29.15\00:46:30.49 how they observed the Sabbath there. 00:46:30.52\00:46:32.45 You see, and those days where the sun doesn't go down, 00:46:32.49\00:46:35.36 what they do is they see the sun appears to go down, 00:46:35.39\00:46:38.23 they start going down, down, down. 00:46:38.26\00:46:40.26 It doesn't dip below the horizon 00:46:40.30\00:46:42.80 but it comes to a point where it starts to rise again. 00:46:42.83\00:46:46.53 So what they do is that point where it stops, 00:46:46.57\00:46:50.27 they mark the hour, oh, now it began to rise again, 00:46:50.31\00:46:53.21 that must be the sunset for us. 00:46:53.24\00:46:55.44 So that's the way they measured when there is no sunset. 00:46:55.48\00:46:59.31 It doesn't get dark. 00:46:59.35\00:47:01.05 What about those times when it's always dark 00:47:01.08\00:47:03.99 for sometimes for almost two months. 00:47:04.02\00:47:07.32 And he says that over there, 00:47:07.36\00:47:09.26 they mark when the last time the sunset 00:47:09.29\00:47:13.50 and then they already know by all previous years, 00:47:13.53\00:47:18.37 when the sun comes up again, there you see it again. 00:47:18.40\00:47:21.60 So they calculate they've done this, 00:47:21.64\00:47:23.20 they calculate the time difference 00:47:23.24\00:47:26.44 between when it went down 00:47:26.47\00:47:28.74 and then when it came back up again 00:47:28.78\00:47:31.65 and they look at the time 00:47:31.68\00:47:33.01 and they calculate minutes per week. 00:47:33.05\00:47:36.72 They take all those minutes per week, 00:47:36.75\00:47:38.42 and they divide it among those 00:47:38.45\00:47:40.89 and that to them is an understanding, 00:47:40.92\00:47:43.16 we're doing the best we understand 00:47:43.19\00:47:45.23 to keep the Sabbath according to the commandment. 00:47:45.26\00:47:48.06 And it's a pretty good method, 00:47:48.10\00:47:50.17 I believe to keep the Sabbath and to them. 00:47:50.20\00:47:53.00 He said it was easy for us to keep the Sabbath 00:47:53.03\00:47:55.30 because when the sunset on Friday evening, 00:47:55.34\00:47:59.24 when they went to bed on Friday, it was dark. 00:47:59.27\00:48:03.24 When they came back on Saturday they continue to observe 00:48:03.28\00:48:07.88 the Sabbath when Sunday came up in the morning. 00:48:07.92\00:48:10.22 They said well, the Sabbath is over. 00:48:10.25\00:48:11.59 Basically, it was very easy to observe the Sabbath 00:48:11.62\00:48:14.02 when it was dark. 00:48:14.06\00:48:15.39 All right, nice. 00:48:15.42\00:48:17.36 It was a very creative question and a good one. 00:48:17.39\00:48:21.06 So thank you for submitting that. 00:48:21.10\00:48:22.66 All right, Pastor James Rafferty, 00:48:22.70\00:48:24.80 this is coming from David in Oregon. 00:48:24.83\00:48:26.94 And he says, "How do we reconcile 00:48:26.97\00:48:29.10 the way of salvation is grace only, 00:48:29.14\00:48:32.31 and then be lost by our taking of the mark of the beast? 00:48:32.34\00:48:35.98 And then he says some people claim that it is working." 00:48:36.01\00:48:39.18 A really good question from David in Oregon. 00:48:39.21\00:48:41.88 Thank you for sending that question. 00:48:41.92\00:48:43.25 Actually, the very essence of the mark of the beast 00:48:43.28\00:48:46.12 is trusting in our own works or righteousness by works. 00:48:46.15\00:48:49.26 So there's really no collision here between the mark 00:48:49.29\00:48:53.09 of the beast and being saved by grace. 00:48:53.13\00:48:54.53 If we're saved by grace 00:48:54.56\00:48:56.16 which is the pronunciation or the reception 00:48:56.20\00:48:58.33 of the pronunciation or the giving 00:48:58.37\00:49:00.74 of the everlasting gospel in Revelation 14:6-12. 00:49:00.77\00:49:04.87 If we're saved by grace, 00:49:04.91\00:49:06.57 then we will not receive the mark of the beast, 00:49:06.61\00:49:08.61 because the grace leads us to worship God, 00:49:08.64\00:49:11.25 to trust in Christ's righteousness, 00:49:11.28\00:49:12.61 to glorify Him. 00:49:12.65\00:49:13.98 Ephesians says that we're saved by grace through faith, 00:49:14.02\00:49:16.02 it's not of ourselves, 00:49:16.05\00:49:17.39 the gift of God lest any man should boast or glory. 00:49:17.42\00:49:20.16 When we give glory to God, 00:49:20.19\00:49:21.52 we don't boast in what we're doing. 00:49:21.56\00:49:22.92 We give all the glory to the salvation gift 00:49:22.96\00:49:25.96 that is given us in Jesus Christ. 00:49:25.99\00:49:27.96 And that's what it means to be sealed 00:49:28.00\00:49:30.13 with the seal of the Holy Spirit. 00:49:30.17\00:49:31.73 Ephesians Chapter 1 talks about how we're sealed 00:49:31.77\00:49:34.50 after we receive the truth of the gospel. 00:49:34.54\00:49:37.67 So when we are saved by grace, 00:49:37.71\00:49:39.51 we reject the mark of the beast. 00:49:39.54\00:49:41.11 If we're not saved by grace, 00:49:41.14\00:49:42.81 we're going to incline toward the mark of the beast 00:49:42.84\00:49:44.91 because the mark of the beast is all about human systems, 00:49:44.95\00:49:48.22 human powers setting up a way of salvation 00:49:48.25\00:49:51.55 that is contrary to the way that God 00:49:51.59\00:49:53.56 is established in His Word. 00:49:53.59\00:49:55.19 It's kind of like Cain and Abel if you will. 00:49:55.22\00:49:57.66 Both of them were worshiping, both of them had an altar, 00:49:57.69\00:49:59.89 both of them brought a sacrifice. 00:49:59.93\00:50:01.46 One sacrifice was in harmony with God, 00:50:01.50\00:50:04.17 in harmony with Word, pointing to Jesus 00:50:04.20\00:50:06.17 that was Abel's, and the other sacrifice 00:50:06.20\00:50:08.37 was dependent on his own works, that was Cain's, 00:50:08.40\00:50:11.57 the fruit of his hands, his own labors. 00:50:11.61\00:50:14.21 Well, that's what we see projected into Revelation 00:50:14.24\00:50:16.58 Chapters 13 and 14. 00:50:16.61\00:50:18.58 In fact, it's interesting Cain was eventually marked 00:50:18.61\00:50:21.18 and we see the same thing taking place 00:50:21.22\00:50:23.15 in Revelation 13, and 14. 00:50:23.18\00:50:24.85 There's the mark of the beast, and there's the mark of God, 00:50:24.89\00:50:27.36 that word remember the Sabbath day, 00:50:27.39\00:50:29.36 that word remember, 00:50:29.39\00:50:30.73 in the Hebrew actually means 00:50:30.76\00:50:32.09 to mark the Sabbath day to keep it holy. 00:50:32.13\00:50:34.10 So there's no contradiction here. 00:50:34.13\00:50:35.96 We are saved by grace and that grace connects us 00:50:36.00\00:50:39.10 with the law of God, the everlasting gospel, 00:50:39.13\00:50:41.94 being saved through the righteousness 00:50:41.97\00:50:43.51 of Jesus Christ. 00:50:43.54\00:50:44.87 Illustration, the Sabbath is the exact opposite 00:50:44.91\00:50:48.21 of the mark of the beast. 00:50:48.24\00:50:49.58 God uses the Sabbath as a sign of salvation, 00:50:49.61\00:50:52.95 because when God created us or this world in six days, 00:50:52.98\00:50:57.82 He created us humankind on the sixth day, 00:50:57.85\00:51:01.32 and then He rested on the seventh day. 00:51:01.36\00:51:03.73 So the first thing that Adam and Eve did 00:51:03.76\00:51:05.23 after they were created was rest. 00:51:05.26\00:51:07.06 They rested and everything God did for them without them. 00:51:07.10\00:51:10.70 There was nothing that they could point to and say, 00:51:10.73\00:51:12.07 hey, you see that tree over there? 00:51:12.10\00:51:13.44 Well, God made the trunk and I put on the branches, 00:51:13.47\00:51:17.11 and then He put on the leaves, and I put on the fruit? 00:51:17.14\00:51:18.94 No, no, God did it all but God did it for us. 00:51:18.97\00:51:22.08 He did everything for us, without us, 00:51:22.11\00:51:25.25 and then He asked us to rest in that. 00:51:25.28\00:51:27.52 And that's exactly what happens in recreation. 00:51:27.55\00:51:29.98 Jesus came to recreate us in His image. 00:51:30.02\00:51:32.65 If any man is in Christ, he's a new creature. 00:51:32.69\00:51:34.72 He's a recreation in the image of Jesus Christ. 00:51:34.76\00:51:38.49 He trod the wine press alone of the people, 00:51:38.53\00:51:40.46 there was none with him. 00:51:40.50\00:51:41.83 And on the cross the Friday the sixth day, 00:51:41.86\00:51:44.13 just like in the garden, Jesus said, "It is finished." 00:51:44.17\00:51:48.34 He accomplished our salvation by ourselves, 00:51:48.37\00:51:50.21 and the first thing we do when we accept Christ 00:51:50.24\00:51:52.64 as we rest in everything He's done for us without us. 00:51:52.67\00:51:55.64 And that's what the Sabbath is really all about. 00:51:55.68\00:51:57.25 It's resting in a finished work of Jesus Christ. 00:51:57.28\00:52:00.22 Amen. 00:52:00.25\00:52:01.58 Well said, my Brother. Thank you so much. 00:52:01.62\00:52:03.49 We're going to take a short break. 00:52:03.52\00:52:04.85 Don't go anywhere.
