The personal challenge to every one of us. 00:07:35.22\00:07:37.52 Don't wait for somebody else, you follow the Lord 00:07:37.59\00:07:39.85 when He calls you to follow Him. 00:07:39.89\00:07:41.26 Good. 00:07:41.29\00:07:42.62 In verse 23, 00:07:42.66\00:07:44.03 "Then this saying went out among the brethren 00:07:44.06\00:07:45.93 that this disciple would not die. 00:07:45.96\00:07:48.80 Yet Jesus did not say to him that he would not die, 00:07:48.83\00:07:52.13 but, 'If I will that he remain till I come, 00:07:52.17\00:07:55.77 what is that to you?' 00:07:55.80\00:07:57.31 This is the disciple who testifies of these things, 00:07:57.37\00:08:01.31 and wrote these things, 00:08:01.34\00:08:02.98 and we know that his testimony is true.'" 00:08:03.01\00:08:05.88 Number of things that are beautiful in this passage, 00:08:05.91\00:08:07.65 which, if you read the Bible, you find out that John, 00:08:07.68\00:08:11.75 1 John, 2 John, 3 John 00:08:11.79\00:08:13.49 and Revelation were written by this one. 00:08:13.52\00:08:16.02 Remember, there's a key, these little symbols, 00:08:16.06\00:08:18.59 we know that his testimony is true. 00:08:18.63\00:08:21.20 When you read Revelation, 00:08:21.23\00:08:22.56 it's the testimony of Jesus Christ. 00:08:22.60\00:08:25.03 Those who, when the Bible says, 00:08:25.07\00:08:27.84 the testimony of Jesus, you find clearly 00:08:27.87\00:08:30.14 that is a phrase used in the Book of Revelation, 00:08:30.21\00:08:33.48 written by the Apostle John. 00:08:33.51\00:08:35.31 You also find out historically that John was the youngest 00:08:35.34\00:08:37.65 of the disciples. 00:08:37.68\00:08:39.01 And the Bible makes reference to that, 00:08:39.05\00:08:41.18 but the apostle and I'll say, 00:08:41.22\00:08:43.18 and I'll give you the reference and the information 00:08:43.22\00:08:45.02 as to why I came to this conclusion. 00:08:45.05\00:08:47.66 When Jesus rose, 00:08:47.69\00:08:49.02 the Bible talked about two disciples 00:08:49.06\00:08:50.39 running toward the tomb, 00:08:50.43\00:08:51.76 Peter and the one whom Jesus loved. 00:08:51.79\00:08:54.00 Well, who was that? 00:08:54.00\00:08:55.33 Historically, John and Peter were the two 00:08:55.36\00:08:56.73 that ran to the tomb. 00:08:56.77\00:08:58.33 And you'll find out after the resurrection of Jesus, 00:08:58.37\00:09:01.50 when you look at the writings of John, 00:09:01.54\00:09:02.87 I'll give you an example. 00:09:02.90\00:09:04.24 The word love in Matthew is only 11 times, 00:09:04.27\00:09:06.71 Mark, five times, Luke, 12 times, 00:09:06.74\00:09:08.84 but in John's writings, 78 references to the word love. 00:09:08.88\00:09:12.71 Wow! 00:09:12.75\00:09:14.08 So he's the one that for God so love, 00:09:14.15\00:09:15.55 but he knew the love of Christ carefully. 00:09:15.58\00:09:17.72 But in the Book of Acts 3:1-4, 00:09:17.75\00:09:20.39 Acts 4:13, Acts 4:19, Acts 8:14, 00:09:20.42\00:09:25.13 you find the dynamic duel, 00:09:25.16\00:09:26.93 James, the inner circle of Jesus was Peter, 00:09:26.96\00:09:29.16 James and John. 00:09:29.20\00:09:30.67 But after the resurrection of Jesus, 00:09:30.70\00:09:32.10 James is not spoken of very much but you see Peter 00:09:32.13\00:09:34.57 and John continually refer to in the writings 00:09:34.60\00:09:38.11 of the Acts of the Apostles. 00:09:38.14\00:09:40.18 One of the examples, Acts 4:13, 00:09:40.21\00:09:43.35 "Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, 00:09:43.38\00:09:46.58 and perceived that they were uneducated and unlearned, 00:09:46.61\00:09:49.95 they marveled and they realized that they had been with Jesus." 00:09:49.98\00:09:53.36 And then the other reference that this one will not die. 00:09:53.39\00:09:56.46 John was the last one to die among the 12 disciples. 00:09:56.49\00:10:00.90 Wow. 00:10:00.93\00:10:02.23 Yeah, great answer, Pastor John. 00:10:02.26\00:10:03.60 Thank you so very much for that. 00:10:03.63\00:10:04.97 And thank you for the question. 00:10:05.00\00:10:07.00 Pastor Johnny, I'm going to come to you. 00:10:07.04\00:10:08.50 This is from Chandler. 00:10:08.54\00:10:10.57 "Will the dead in Christ recognize their family 00:10:10.61\00:10:14.18 from the old earth 00:10:14.24\00:10:15.58 when we meet them again in the New Earth?" 00:10:15.61\00:10:18.85 Good question. That is a good question. 00:10:18.88\00:10:21.35 And many people have that question. 00:10:21.38\00:10:22.88 It's very interesting. 00:10:22.92\00:10:24.25 And I would like to first take you to the Book of Genesis. 00:10:24.29\00:10:28.16 Before sin entered into the world, 00:10:28.19\00:10:29.59 there was Adam and there was Eve. 00:10:29.62\00:10:32.69 They were, they knew each other. 00:10:32.73\00:10:34.46 And so had sin not entered into the world, 00:10:34.50\00:10:36.73 we wouldn't have this question come up. 00:10:36.80\00:10:39.07 But this question is there. 00:10:39.10\00:10:40.47 And there are some scriptures that give a hint to this. 00:10:40.50\00:10:42.17 So I go to 1 Corinthians 13:12, 00:10:42.20\00:10:46.34 "For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. 00:10:46.37\00:10:51.28 Now I know in part, 00:10:51.31\00:10:52.65 but then I shall know just as I also am known." 00:10:52.68\00:10:56.82 This gives an implication that we will know 00:10:56.85\00:10:59.52 and we will be known. 00:10:59.55\00:11:01.82 Let me point you to Luke 13. 00:11:01.86\00:11:04.63 In Luke 13, is what is called the Mount of Transfiguration. 00:11:04.66\00:11:09.73 And there was Peter, James and John, 00:11:09.76\00:11:11.27 Jesus took them up to this mountain. 00:11:11.30\00:11:13.44 And Peter, perhaps under the inspiration 00:11:13.50\00:11:17.57 of the Holy Spirit was able to recognize who? 00:11:17.61\00:11:20.34 Moses and Elijah, so yes, they have identity, 00:11:20.38\00:11:24.11 they have personality, 00:11:24.15\00:11:25.58 and he was able to recognize them. 00:11:25.61\00:11:27.95 So actually, it's not in Luke 13, 00:11:27.98\00:11:33.09 the Mount of Transfiguration, 00:11:33.12\00:11:34.46 but Luke 13 has another passage that I bring to your attention, 00:11:34.49\00:11:39.23 because Jesus is saying, 00:11:39.26\00:11:40.60 "Strive to enter into the narrow gate, 00:11:40.66\00:11:42.56 for many I say to you will seek to enter 00:11:42.60\00:11:44.53 and will not be able to." 00:11:44.57\00:11:45.90 And then He describes those that were not able to get in. 00:11:45.93\00:11:49.00 And Jesus says concerning those, 00:11:49.04\00:11:51.84 beginning in verse 27, Luke 13:27, 00:11:51.87\00:11:54.44 "But He will say, 'I tell you I do not know you," 00:11:54.48\00:11:57.21 those are the ones that did not follow Jesus, 00:11:57.28\00:12:00.42 "where you are from. 00:12:00.45\00:12:01.78 Depart from Me, all you workers of iniquity.'" 00:12:01.82\00:12:03.89 Notice what he says, "There will be weeping 00:12:03.92\00:12:05.65 and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham, 00:12:05.69\00:12:09.26 Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets 00:12:09.29\00:12:11.46 in the kingdom of God and yourself throw us out." 00:12:11.49\00:12:14.76 So we see that Jesus names individuals known in the Bible, 00:12:14.83\00:12:18.63 and so I believe we have enough information 00:12:18.67\00:12:21.44 to in the Bible that let us know, 00:12:21.47\00:12:23.24 yes, you will know and you will be known. 00:12:23.27\00:12:25.37 Amen. Amen. 00:12:25.41\00:12:26.74 Pastor Johnny, so I know you alluded to the transfiguration. 00:12:26.78\00:12:29.31 What is that scripture because someone may want 00:12:29.34\00:12:30.75 to jot that down. 00:12:30.81\00:12:32.15 That's actually found in Matthew 17:1. 00:12:32.18\00:12:34.68 Okay. Perfect. 00:12:34.72\00:12:36.05 Excellent. Thank you so much. 00:12:36.08\00:12:37.89 Going to you, Brother Ryan. 00:12:37.92\00:12:40.62 Great question here. 00:12:40.66\00:12:41.99 I alluded to this earlier at the beginning of the program. 00:12:42.02\00:12:43.59 This comes from Mervyn, from Trinidad. 00:12:43.63\00:12:46.13 And the question is, 00:12:46.16\00:12:47.50 "What does it mean to be absent from the body 00:12:47.56\00:12:49.76 and be present with God?" 00:12:49.80\00:12:51.63 All right. 00:12:51.67\00:12:53.00 So many people go to 2 Corinthians 5:8, 00:12:53.03\00:12:55.87 where we find this text, where it actually says, 00:12:55.90\00:12:58.37 "We are confident, yes, well pleased rather 00:12:58.41\00:13:00.58 to be absent from the body 00:13:00.61\00:13:02.11 and to be present with the Lord." 00:13:02.14\00:13:03.48 King James Version says, 00:13:03.55\00:13:04.88 and willing rather to be absent from the body. 00:13:04.91\00:13:06.82 So a lot of people take this text and say, 00:13:06.85\00:13:08.42 "Oh, that means that as soon as you die, 00:13:08.45\00:13:10.39 you are, immediately your spirit, 00:13:10.42\00:13:12.09 your soul, your ghost that's inside you again 00:13:12.12\00:13:14.36 how some people try to misrepresent that, 00:13:14.39\00:13:16.66 that understanding of the death. 00:13:16.73\00:13:18.06 We know that when you die, you sleep in the grave, 00:13:18.09\00:13:19.69 right, until the Second Coming of Jesus. 00:13:19.73\00:13:21.46 But nonetheless, many people assume that as soon as you die, 00:13:21.50\00:13:23.67 you immediately, your spirit, your soul is detached 00:13:23.73\00:13:27.00 or liberated from the body 00:13:27.04\00:13:28.54 and immediately finds itself in the presence of the Lord. 00:13:28.57\00:13:30.81 But nowhere in here does Paul say that. 00:13:30.87\00:13:32.91 So what does he mean by absent from the body 00:13:32.94\00:13:34.68 and present with the Lord? 00:13:34.71\00:13:36.04 Obviously, if you start in verse 1 00:13:36.08\00:13:37.55 of 2 Corinthians Chapter 2, 00:13:37.61\00:13:39.45 he alludes to our body as this earthly house. 00:13:39.48\00:13:42.92 And he also refers to it as in verse 4 here, 00:13:42.95\00:13:46.45 2 Corinthians 5:4, "For we who are in this tent, 00:13:46.49\00:13:49.89 this body, this tent, we groan, being burdened, 00:13:49.92\00:13:52.99 not because we want to be unclothed, 00:13:53.03\00:13:54.56 but further clothed." 00:13:54.56\00:13:55.90 So he's talking about how this earthly 00:13:55.93\00:13:57.33 broken down body, we grown in it, 00:13:57.40\00:13:59.77 we desire something better, 00:13:59.80\00:14:01.44 we desire a heavenly body made from God, 00:14:01.47\00:14:04.11 and we know we're going to get that heavenly body, 00:14:04.14\00:14:05.81 that new body according to Philippians 3. 00:14:05.84\00:14:08.04 Paul says that when Christ comes back 00:14:08.08\00:14:09.94 at the Second Coming, 00:14:09.98\00:14:11.31 He's going to change this vile body, 00:14:11.35\00:14:12.68 this vile tent, this vile earthly house, 00:14:12.71\00:14:15.22 and make it new and perfect, 00:14:15.25\00:14:16.79 likened to Christ's glorious body. 00:14:16.82\00:14:19.22 So to be absent from the body 00:14:19.25\00:14:21.16 and to be present with the Lord means what? 00:14:21.19\00:14:23.19 When Christ makes that change from transforming us 00:14:23.22\00:14:27.10 from this old earthly house to a new body in Christ Jesus. 00:14:27.13\00:14:31.17 When does that happen? 00:14:31.20\00:14:32.53 Well, verse 4 kind of gives us an indication 00:14:32.57\00:14:34.64 what he's talking about here, because he goes on to saying 00:14:34.67\00:14:36.87 that this mortality might be swallowed up of life. 00:14:36.91\00:14:40.28 When did Paul believe that that this body would be, 00:14:40.34\00:14:43.61 you know, that we would be absent 00:14:43.65\00:14:44.98 from this earthly body and present with the Lord 00:14:45.01\00:14:46.68 with a new body? 00:14:46.72\00:14:48.05 Obviously, 1 Corinthians 15:51-53 00:14:48.08\00:14:52.25 makes it very clear. 00:14:52.29\00:14:53.62 It says, "In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, 00:14:53.66\00:14:55.92 at the last trumpet." 00:14:55.96\00:14:57.59 And then it goes on in verse 53, 00:14:57.63\00:14:58.96 it says, "For this corruptible must put on incorruption, 00:14:58.99\00:15:01.20 and this mortal must put on immortality." 00:15:01.23\00:15:03.77 So this absent from the body present with the Lord, 00:15:03.80\00:15:06.60 it's talking about us 00:15:06.63\00:15:08.14 Christ leaving this old earthly tabernacle, 00:15:08.17\00:15:10.94 this old earthly body behind giving us a new body 00:15:10.97\00:15:13.98 at the last trump, the Second Coming of Jesus. 00:15:14.01\00:15:16.34 Amen. Praise the Lord. 00:15:16.38\00:15:17.71 We look forward to that day. Amen, me too. 00:15:17.75\00:15:21.05 Pastor John, heavy question here. 00:15:21.08\00:15:23.39 This comes from Dee from the state of California. 00:15:23.42\00:15:26.96 Okay. 00:15:26.99\00:15:28.32 "If I didn't know one was married, 00:15:28.36\00:15:31.36 though stated they are separated 00:15:31.39\00:15:32.93 yet found out I was with child or pregnant. 00:15:32.96\00:15:36.50 Is the child a curse and should I abort? 00:15:36.53\00:15:40.40 Am I an adulterous? I feel God is ashamed of me. 00:15:40.44\00:15:44.81 Is salvation off the table now?" 00:15:44.84\00:15:47.28 Okay, great. 00:15:47.34\00:15:48.68 I'm glad you asked that question. 00:15:48.71\00:15:50.05 Let me just put six very quick points. 00:15:50.08\00:15:51.55 First of all, God intends for a sexual relationship 00:15:51.58\00:15:55.25 to only be within the confines of marriage. 00:15:55.28\00:15:58.22 All kinds of unpredictable things will occur 00:15:58.25\00:16:00.79 when we violate God's directive requirements. 00:16:00.82\00:16:04.36 I used to say, I don't believe in sex between 00:16:04.39\00:16:08.00 a man and a woman. 00:16:08.03\00:16:09.36 And people used to say, what? 00:16:09.40\00:16:11.53 I said, "I believe of sex 00:16:11.57\00:16:13.03 between a husband and the wife." 00:16:13.07\00:16:14.64 Yeah. Okay. That's clear. 00:16:14.67\00:16:16.71 Next, the child is not cursed. 00:16:16.74\00:16:19.34 The sin is cursed. 00:16:19.37\00:16:21.71 The child is the product of a procreation act, 00:16:21.74\00:16:24.51 which God programmed when the sperm meets the egg. 00:16:24.55\00:16:27.22 The child is a result of that. 00:16:27.25\00:16:28.58 Third, God does not take advantage of your shame. 00:16:28.62\00:16:32.22 He does not condemn you. 00:16:32.25\00:16:33.59 He condemns the act. 00:16:33.66\00:16:35.36 The example of that is found in John 8:3-4 and 10-11. 00:16:35.39\00:16:40.00 The woman caught in adultery clearly as the Bible states. 00:16:40.03\00:16:43.43 When they brought her to Christ, they said, "Stone her." 00:16:43.47\00:16:46.27 The Bible says, "Then the scribes 00:16:46.30\00:16:47.67 and Pharisees brought to Him 00:16:47.70\00:16:49.90 a woman caught in adultery. 00:16:49.97\00:16:52.31 And when they had set her in the midst, 00:16:52.34\00:16:54.31 they said to Him, 'Teacher, 00:16:54.34\00:16:55.98 this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act.'" 00:16:56.01\00:16:59.51 We always ask, "What about the guy?" 00:16:59.55\00:17:01.68 Verse 10-11, 00:17:01.72\00:17:03.15 "When Jesus had raised Himself up 00:17:03.18\00:17:04.99 and saw that no one but the woman, 00:17:05.02\00:17:09.22 He said to her, because Jesus began to write into the dust." 00:17:09.26\00:17:12.69 I believe it was the sins of those 00:17:12.73\00:17:14.10 who were condemning her, because He said, 00:17:14.13\00:17:16.30 "Whoever was is without sin cast the first stone." 00:17:16.33\00:17:19.30 But it says in verse 10, 00:17:19.33\00:17:20.67 "When Jesus had raised Himself up 00:17:20.74\00:17:22.07 and saw no one but the woman, 00:17:22.10\00:17:23.71 He said to her, listen about the act, 00:17:23.74\00:17:26.21 'Woman, where are those accusers of yours? 00:17:26.24\00:17:29.68 Has no one condemned you?' 00:17:29.71\00:17:32.91 She said, 'No one, Lord.' 00:17:32.95\00:17:34.92 And Jesus said to her, 'Neither do I condemn you, 00:17:34.95\00:17:39.02 go and sin no more.'" 00:17:39.05\00:17:40.39 He didn't condemn the adulterous. 00:17:40.46\00:17:41.92 That's right. He condemned the act. 00:17:41.96\00:17:43.83 The last few points are made. 00:17:43.86\00:17:45.83 The woman caught in adultery is an example 00:17:45.86\00:17:47.86 of how Jesus feels about the sinner and the sin. 00:17:47.93\00:17:50.83 He hates the sin, but He loves the sinner. 00:17:50.87\00:17:53.40 There's no sin that we can commit 00:17:53.44\00:17:54.77 that unconfessed it'll stay upon us. 00:17:54.80\00:17:58.14 But when we confess as 1 John 1:9 says, 00:17:58.17\00:18:00.94 "He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins, 00:18:01.01\00:18:03.48 and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 00:18:03.51\00:18:05.65 The Bible never speaks of Jesus being ashamed of people. 00:18:05.68\00:18:08.55 He came to seek and save those who are lost. 00:18:08.58\00:18:10.52 When we confess, we will be forgiven. 00:18:10.55\00:18:12.79 That's right. 00:18:12.82\00:18:14.19 What hope when you think about that? 00:18:14.22\00:18:15.56 Praise God for that. Yeah, and what love. 00:18:15.59\00:18:16.93 Praise the Lord for that. 00:18:16.96\00:18:18.29 Thank so much, Pastor John, 00:18:18.33\00:18:19.66 and thank you for submitting that question too. 00:18:19.69\00:18:22.16 Let's see, Pastor... Let me just add this quickly. 00:18:22.20\00:18:23.97 By the way, salvation is not off the table. 00:18:24.00\00:18:26.33 When you are forgiven, 00:18:26.37\00:18:27.74 He extends to us His saving grace. 00:18:27.77\00:18:30.04 Amen. Amen. 00:18:30.11\00:18:31.44 Thank you for adding that. 00:18:31.47\00:18:33.48 Brother Ryan, "When Jesus was on earth, 00:18:33.51\00:18:36.01 He said to the disciples, 00:18:36.04\00:18:37.75 'I am going to prepare a place for you.' 00:18:37.78\00:18:41.25 Does that mean heaven?'" 00:18:41.28\00:18:42.82 Well, the answer, the simple answer to that is yes and no. 00:18:42.85\00:18:46.42 Yes, in the sense that we know according to Matthew 24, 00:18:46.45\00:18:49.46 and also 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, 00:18:49.49\00:18:52.76 that at the Second Coming, Christ is coming back 00:18:52.79\00:18:54.83 and He's going to gather His people. 00:18:54.86\00:18:56.73 But remember, before He comes back for His people, 00:18:56.77\00:18:58.83 He did make that promise that where I go, 00:18:58.87\00:19:01.54 I go, that I may prepare a place for you 00:19:01.57\00:19:03.47 that where I am there you may be also. 00:19:03.54\00:19:05.64 And we all we also know that by the time you get 00:19:05.67\00:19:07.61 to Revelation 20:4, 00:19:07.64\00:19:10.01 it tells us that God's people, 00:19:10.08\00:19:11.51 His saints will reign with him 1000 years where? 00:19:11.55\00:19:15.25 In heaven, because again, at the Second Coming, 00:19:15.28\00:19:17.02 He's come back to get His people. 00:19:17.05\00:19:18.45 So we will dwell with Him in heaven. 00:19:18.49\00:19:20.59 Now, here's where it gets interesting. 00:19:20.62\00:19:22.09 Because when you're talking about going to prepare 00:19:22.12\00:19:24.26 a place for you, 00:19:24.29\00:19:25.63 we know that according to Revelation 21:2-3. 00:19:25.66\00:19:29.10 Let me read that really quickly here. 00:19:29.13\00:19:30.80 Revelation 21:2-3. 00:19:30.87\00:19:32.90 It says, "Then I John saw the holy city." 00:19:32.93\00:19:35.00 Now notice, this is in the aftermath 00:19:35.04\00:19:36.91 of that 1000 years. 00:19:36.94\00:19:38.27 So we've been in heaven with Christ for 1000 years. 00:19:38.31\00:19:40.58 So we're dwelling with Him. 00:19:40.61\00:19:41.94 He's been preparing that place for us right before 00:19:41.98\00:19:44.95 the Second Coming all the way up to, 00:19:44.98\00:19:46.82 but now in the aftermath of that 1000 years, notice. 00:19:46.85\00:19:49.92 It says, "Then I, John, saw the holy city, 00:19:49.95\00:19:52.12 a New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, 00:19:52.15\00:19:56.36 okay, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 00:19:56.39\00:19:59.59 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, 00:19:59.63\00:20:01.13 'Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, 00:20:01.16\00:20:04.27 and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. 00:20:04.30\00:20:07.20 God Himself will be with them and be their God.'" 00:20:07.24\00:20:10.27 So yes, we are dwelling with God, 00:20:10.31\00:20:11.91 He has prepared that place. 00:20:11.94\00:20:13.44 And we know that ultimate resting place 00:20:13.48\00:20:15.88 to be with Jesus for all eternity 00:20:15.91\00:20:17.78 is that New Jerusalem city where many mansions are found, 00:20:17.81\00:20:21.12 right, in my Father's house are many mansions. 00:20:21.15\00:20:23.59 And so when that city comes down from God out of heaven, 00:20:23.65\00:20:26.86 it's going to rest here on the earth, 00:20:26.92\00:20:28.56 Christ is going to recreate a New Heaven and a New Earth, 00:20:28.59\00:20:31.46 and we will forever be with Jesus. 00:20:31.49\00:20:33.66 So yes and no. 00:20:33.70\00:20:35.00 Yes, we will dwell with Him in heaven. 00:20:35.03\00:20:36.63 And He is preparing that place for us 00:20:36.70\00:20:38.23 while we were in heaven during that 1000 years, 00:20:38.27\00:20:40.17 but at the end of the 1000 years, 00:20:40.20\00:20:42.07 we with Christ in that city come down 00:20:42.10\00:20:44.74 to be with Him for all eternity on the New Earth. 00:20:44.77\00:20:47.84 Amen. Praise the Lord. 00:20:47.88\00:20:49.21 You know, I love building and stuff like that. 00:20:49.24\00:20:50.58 So I just think about, you know, 00:20:50.61\00:20:51.95 God is the architect and the builder. 00:20:51.98\00:20:53.35 I mean, incredible, right, to think about Him creating 00:20:53.38\00:20:55.02 and seeing everything new. 00:20:55.05\00:20:57.42 A lot of our questions seem to be pertaining 00:20:57.45\00:20:59.32 to Christ's Second Coming, 00:20:59.35\00:21:00.86 we're talking about that, right? 00:21:00.89\00:21:02.22 That's right. We look forward again to that. 00:21:02.26\00:21:03.93 We have fixed our mind. 00:21:03.96\00:21:05.29 We have fixed our mind another time. 00:21:05.33\00:21:06.80 That's right. Great song, too. 00:21:06.83\00:21:08.56 That's right. 00:21:08.60\00:21:09.93 Pastor Johnny, this question comes from Zambia. 00:21:09.96\00:21:12.80 The name is Lottie. 00:21:12.83\00:21:14.54 And a rather long question, but it's a good one. 00:21:14.57\00:21:16.47 "I have a question from Genesis 6:5-6, 00:21:16.50\00:21:20.84 where the Bible says, verse 5, 00:21:20.88\00:21:23.21 "When the Lord saw how wicked everyone on earth was, 00:21:23.24\00:21:26.58 and how evil their thoughts were all the time, 00:21:26.61\00:21:29.55 he was sorry that he had ever made them 00:21:29.58\00:21:31.75 and put them on the earth. 00:21:31.79\00:21:33.52 He was so filled with regret." 00:21:33.56\00:21:35.52 My question is, "If God knows 00:21:35.56\00:21:37.59 what is going to happen, even before it happens, 00:21:37.63\00:21:40.76 then He knew that man would fall, 00:21:40.80\00:21:42.86 and that there would be a time when wickedness will increase. 00:21:42.90\00:21:46.43 But why was He sorry? 00:21:46.47\00:21:48.44 In other versions of the Bible, 00:21:48.47\00:21:49.80 it says He regretted that He had made man. 00:21:49.84\00:21:52.74 I wonder, I don't understand what it really means there, 00:21:52.77\00:21:55.74 God regretting. 00:21:55.78\00:21:57.48 Please help me." That is a good question. 00:21:57.51\00:22:01.28 And you know, it's interesting 00:22:01.32\00:22:02.65 to hear these questions coming from Philippines, Trinidad, 00:22:02.68\00:22:05.05 now Zambia. 00:22:05.09\00:22:06.42 Praise the Lord. Amen. 00:22:06.45\00:22:07.79 So many people around the world are watching 3ABN. 00:22:07.82\00:22:09.89 Genesis 6:5-6. 00:22:09.92\00:22:12.39 Yes, in verse 6, it says, 00:22:12.43\00:22:13.80 "And the Lord was sorry 00:22:13.83\00:22:15.40 that He had made man on the earth, 00:22:15.43\00:22:16.93 and He was grieved in His heart." 00:22:16.97\00:22:19.33 And I want to make emphasis there, 00:22:19.37\00:22:21.07 that it says He was grieved in His heart. 00:22:21.10\00:22:23.77 Yes, it's true that God is able to foresee ahead 00:22:23.81\00:22:27.91 of time before things happen. 00:22:27.94\00:22:29.38 Yes, He foresaw that man and woman would sin. 00:22:29.41\00:22:34.78 Here's one in Isaiah 46:9-10, 00:22:34.82\00:22:36.79 "Remember the former things of old, 00:22:36.85\00:22:38.39 for I am God, and there is no other, 00:22:38.42\00:22:40.16 I am God, and there's none like Me, 00:22:40.22\00:22:42.09 declaring the end from the beginning, 00:22:42.12\00:22:44.49 and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, 00:22:44.53\00:22:48.40 'My counsel shall stand, 00:22:48.43\00:22:49.83 and I will do all My pleasure.'" 00:22:49.86\00:22:52.03 So yes, God knows, God knew. 00:22:52.07\00:22:54.50 So why is this expression there? 00:22:54.54\00:22:57.24 It is, because even though God foresaw this happening, 00:22:57.27\00:23:01.61 He has to express Himself in the language 00:23:01.64\00:23:05.21 that human beings can understand. 00:23:05.25\00:23:07.25 It wasn't that like, well, I knew this would happen. 00:23:07.32\00:23:09.48 And that's it. 00:23:09.52\00:23:11.35 God had to express Himself of the pain 00:23:11.39\00:23:15.96 that He was experiencing, as He saw people 00:23:15.99\00:23:18.56 that He created in His image, 00:23:18.59\00:23:22.20 that their thoughts were only evil continually. 00:23:22.23\00:23:24.93 So to let us know how painful it was, it says, I am sorry. 00:23:24.97\00:23:30.31 And it grieves Him in His heart. 00:23:30.37\00:23:33.34 It is not when He arrives at the time when 00:23:33.38\00:23:35.78 He's watching this, it is a painful experience. 00:23:35.81\00:23:38.41 Yes, He foresaw it. 00:23:38.45\00:23:39.88 But when you come to the part where you experience it, 00:23:39.91\00:23:42.92 it is a pain. 00:23:42.95\00:23:44.29 Just like when you see I have to bring this up, 00:23:44.32\00:23:46.09 because I don't want to bring up pain for anybody. 00:23:46.12\00:23:48.86 But some of you have had your family members sick, 00:23:48.89\00:23:54.00 and you saw the disease progressing and progressing. 00:23:54.03\00:23:56.63 You knew that perhaps this person was going to die. 00:23:56.70\00:24:00.17 But when the moment happens, you are grieved. 00:24:00.24\00:24:03.07 The grieving process takes place. 00:24:03.10\00:24:05.04 And this is God expressing Himself of the pain 00:24:05.07\00:24:07.48 He suffers as He sees people in sin. 00:24:07.51\00:24:10.85 But notice that it continues to say, 00:24:10.88\00:24:13.08 "But Noah found grace in His sight." 00:24:13.11\00:24:15.38 So he delights in God's children. 00:24:15.42\00:24:17.72 Amen. In fact, you as well. 00:24:17.75\00:24:19.09 Amen. 00:24:19.12\00:24:20.46 Thank you, Pastor Johnny, you know, 00:24:20.49\00:24:21.82 you think about the pain too, 00:24:21.86\00:24:23.19 like you're talking about a loved one 00:24:23.22\00:24:24.56 because we love them, right? 00:24:24.59\00:24:25.93 Yes. That's right. There it is. 00:24:25.96\00:24:27.30 Yes, leading us, because when we see that, 00:24:27.30\00:24:28.63 so we know God loves us like no one else, so... 00:24:28.66\00:24:30.07 Amen. Yes. 00:24:30.13\00:24:31.47 Pastor John, this question is from Salem. 00:24:31.50\00:24:34.70 "Hello, I am a new Christian. 00:24:34.74\00:24:37.27 I was baptized into an Evangelical Church 00:24:37.31\00:24:40.04 in March of 2016. 00:24:40.08\00:24:41.68 My original religion is Roman Catholic. 00:24:41.71\00:24:43.81 I'm currently studying in a Bible school, 00:24:43.85\00:24:46.61 but my heart is heavy 00:24:46.68\00:24:48.18 on 1 Corinthians 14:33-35. 00:24:48.22\00:24:53.09 Can you share your views on this topic? 00:24:53.12\00:24:55.66 My church actually allows women preachers, 00:24:55.69\00:24:58.23 but I'm confused why this verse doesn't seem to agree." 00:24:58.26\00:25:02.30 Okay, let me read 1 Corinthians 14:33-35. 00:25:02.33\00:25:06.23 "For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, 00:25:06.27\00:25:08.94 as in all the churches of the saints. 00:25:08.97\00:25:11.24 Let your women keep silent in the churches, 00:25:11.27\00:25:13.98 for they are not permitted to speak, 00:25:14.01\00:25:15.84 but they are to be submissive, as the law also says. 00:25:15.88\00:25:19.05 And if they want to learn something, 00:25:19.08\00:25:20.65 let them ask their own husbands at home, 00:25:20.72\00:25:23.39 for it is shameful for women to speak in church." 00:25:23.42\00:25:26.02 This passage I studied this intently years ago, 00:25:26.05\00:25:28.99 it's more about decorum rather than about gender bias. 00:25:29.02\00:25:31.89 Yes. 00:25:31.93\00:25:33.26 Because the way the churches were established, 00:25:33.29\00:25:34.60 especially in synagogue times, the men and the women 00:25:34.63\00:25:36.67 never sat together. 00:25:36.73\00:25:38.07 The rabbi was speaking, 00:25:38.10\00:25:39.43 the women would either be in the balcony 00:25:39.47\00:25:40.84 or on the right aisle, and then on the left aisle, 00:25:40.90\00:25:43.37 and anytime something came up that was confusing, 00:25:43.41\00:25:45.91 the women would say, "Hey, Johnny, 00:25:45.94\00:25:47.54 what do you think the rabbi said?" 00:25:47.58\00:25:49.81 That's why Paul begins, 00:25:49.84\00:25:51.25 God is not the author of confusion. 00:25:51.28\00:25:53.88 Right. 00:25:53.92\00:25:55.25 He's talking about confusion, not gender bias. Okay. 00:25:55.28\00:25:58.49 Because you'll notice, 00:25:58.52\00:26:00.49 that's how the churches were established. 00:26:00.52\00:26:02.52 But when you look at the Bible, 00:26:02.56\00:26:03.89 there's no prohibition about women speaking in churches. 00:26:03.96\00:26:06.83 Ephesians 4:11-12, 00:26:06.86\00:26:08.53 "He gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets." 00:26:08.56\00:26:11.67 And when you study the Bible, 00:26:11.70\00:26:13.03 you see that there was Deborah the prophetess, 00:26:13.07\00:26:16.04 there was Huldah the prophetess, 00:26:16.07\00:26:17.44 there was the prophetess Noadiah. 00:26:17.51\00:26:19.91 And then Philip had, 00:26:19.94\00:26:21.28 then there was Anna the prophet, prophetess. 00:26:21.31\00:26:23.78 And then Philip had four daughters, 00:26:23.85\00:26:25.51 and the Bible says they were all prophetesses. 00:26:25.55\00:26:28.25 So why would God give these women 00:26:28.28\00:26:30.49 the ability to be prophetesses, and some to be prophets, 00:26:30.52\00:26:35.69 that's the New Testament Church, 00:26:35.72\00:26:37.26 if He did not intend women to speak. 00:26:37.33\00:26:39.53 You'll find clearly this is about decorum 00:26:39.56\00:26:41.70 and not about gender bias. 00:26:41.73\00:26:44.57 Paul the Apostle makes it clear in Galatians 3:26-29. 00:26:44.60\00:26:49.24 Well, I just read verse 28, 00:26:49.27\00:26:51.51 "There is neither Jew nor Greek, 00:26:51.54\00:26:52.87 there is neither slave nor free, 00:26:52.91\00:26:54.24 there is neither male nor female, 00:26:54.28\00:26:56.11 for you are all one in Christ Jesus." 00:26:56.14\00:26:59.68 And so he's talking about in the Christian Church, 00:26:59.71\00:27:02.02 God sees us in the same role of leadership, 00:27:02.05\00:27:05.35 and there's no difference by the gifts 00:27:05.39\00:27:06.92 that God has given to us. 00:27:06.99\00:27:08.32 Amen. 00:27:08.36\00:27:09.69 Thank you for that clarification, 00:27:09.72\00:27:11.06 Pastor John. 00:27:11.09\00:27:12.43 You know, the Bible all makes sense. 00:27:12.46\00:27:13.80 You know, there's some texts and questions. 00:27:13.83\00:27:15.13 That's why you're submitting them here 00:27:15.16\00:27:16.50 to the Bible Today Q and A program, 00:27:16.53\00:27:19.67 and we thank you for doing that. 00:27:19.70\00:27:21.24 I want to encourage you to continue to send us 00:27:21.27\00:27:23.94 your questions and comments. 00:27:24.01\00:27:25.37 You can do it several different ways. 00:27:25.41\00:27:27.48 You can email us at BibleQA@3abn.tv 00:27:27.51\00:27:32.08 You can also use your cell phone and text us 00:27:32.11\00:27:34.48 at (618) 228-3975. 00:27:34.52\00:27:38.35 Instagram is another way to do that, 00:27:38.39\00:27:40.09 that's 3abn_official Many different ways 00:27:40.16\00:27:43.16 of contacting us and submitting your questions. 00:27:43.19\00:27:46.16 I know this program goes by quick for us here on the set 00:27:46.19\00:27:49.53 at 3ABN, and we hear from you at home saying, 00:27:49.56\00:27:51.87 "Wow, you all go way too fast. 00:27:51.90\00:27:53.80 There's no way I can take notes." 00:27:53.84\00:27:55.84 Well, this is how you can do it is go to 3abnplus.tv 00:27:55.87\00:28:01.44 Well, what is that you may ask? 00:28:01.48\00:28:03.14 3abnplus.tv 00:28:03.18\00:28:04.98 is an on demand video platform that 3ABN has established. 00:28:05.01\00:28:08.85 What is Video on Demand mean? 00:28:08.88\00:28:10.22 It means Video on Demand where you can play it, 00:28:10.25\00:28:12.62 pause it, stop it, rewind it, start from the beginning, 00:28:12.65\00:28:15.59 do it at your own discretion 00:28:15.62\00:28:17.09 and pleasure in your own timeframe. 00:28:17.16\00:28:19.19 It's a wonderful benefit 00:28:19.23\00:28:20.56 and we have a lot of people sending in comments 00:28:20.63\00:28:21.96 saying thank you so very much. 00:28:22.00\00:28:23.80 Not only will you find 3ABN Today Bible Q and A there, 00:28:23.87\00:28:26.17 you'll find Sabbath School Panel, 00:28:26.20\00:28:27.54 Worship Hour, many of 3ABN programs will be right there. 00:28:27.57\00:28:30.41 So encourage you to check that out 3abnplus.tv 00:28:30.44\00:28:35.48 See, Brother Ryan, this question, 00:28:35.51\00:28:38.28 it's good one, comes from Tom from Georgia. 00:28:38.31\00:28:43.82 He says, "Are all Christians under the New Covenant? 00:28:43.89\00:28:47.69 In Jeremiah it says the New Covenant 00:28:47.72\00:28:50.03 would be with the nation of Israel?" 00:28:50.06\00:28:52.46 All right. That's a great question. 00:28:52.49\00:28:54.46 The answer to that is all Christians can be under 00:28:54.46\00:28:57.97 the New Covenant if they so choose to be, 00:28:58.00\00:29:00.77 because salvation is a choice. 00:29:00.80\00:29:02.14 God does not force us or His love upon us. 00:29:02.17\00:29:05.51 But yeah, I think we have to understand that. 00:29:05.54\00:29:08.28 You know, the whole purpose of Scripture, 00:29:08.31\00:29:10.28 the whole purpose of a covenant is for our salvation 00:29:10.31\00:29:12.51 and our redemption. 00:29:12.55\00:29:13.88 And we know that the blood of Christ, 00:29:13.95\00:29:15.28 the sacrifice of Jesus ratified and put into effect 00:29:15.32\00:29:18.15 that beautiful New Covenant promise and blessing 00:29:18.19\00:29:20.89 that we can participate in if we just simply accept 00:29:20.92\00:29:24.26 Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of our life. 00:29:24.29\00:29:27.03 Now, that being said, 00:29:27.13\00:29:28.43 I think the bulk of this question 00:29:28.46\00:29:29.80 is addressing, you know, the Israel aspect or the, 00:29:29.83\00:29:32.47 in this case, the Judah aspect. 00:29:32.50\00:29:34.30 For instance, if you go and read 00:29:34.34\00:29:35.67 where the New Covenant first appears in Scripture. 00:29:35.70\00:29:37.94 Jeremiah 31:31, it does say here. 00:29:37.97\00:29:41.51 It says, "Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, 00:29:41.54\00:29:43.35 when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel 00:29:43.38\00:29:46.72 and with the house of Judah." 00:29:46.75\00:29:48.08 And so some people read that and they say, 00:29:48.12\00:29:49.45 "Oh, it must only be a Jewish thing." 00:29:49.48\00:29:51.22 And you know, they'll use this same, 00:29:51.25\00:29:52.59 you know, this same logic or this same flawed logic to, 00:29:52.62\00:29:56.19 you know, to try to say that, 00:29:56.22\00:29:57.56 oh, the Sabbath was only for the Israelites, 00:29:57.63\00:29:59.29 only for Judah and whatnot. 00:29:59.33\00:30:00.70 And that's simply not the case. 00:30:00.73\00:30:02.10 We understand that by the time you get to the New Testament, 00:30:02.13\00:30:05.00 Paul clarifies this whole argument of, 00:30:05.03\00:30:09.14 you know, literal Jews versus the Gentiles, non-Jewish, 00:30:09.17\00:30:12.47 blood Jews versus non blood Jews, 00:30:12.51\00:30:14.41 when he gets to Galatians Chapter 3, 00:30:14.44\00:30:16.11 because he says it very clearly there. 00:30:16.14\00:30:17.95 Galatians 3:26-29, He says, 00:30:17.98\00:30:21.12 "For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 00:30:21.15\00:30:26.15 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ 00:30:26.19\00:30:29.02 have put on Christ." 00:30:29.06\00:30:31.03 Then it says, "There is neither Jew nor Greek, 00:30:31.06\00:30:33.46 there is neither slave nor free, 00:30:33.50\00:30:34.83 there is neither male nor female, 00:30:34.83\00:30:36.16 for you are all one in Christ Jesus." 00:30:36.20\00:30:38.47 And here comes the kicker. 00:30:38.50\00:30:39.83 Verse 29, it says, "And if you are Christ's, 00:30:39.87\00:30:43.87 then you are Abraham's seed, 00:30:43.94\00:30:46.37 and heirs according to the promise." 00:30:46.41\00:30:48.11 What that is saying is that you become a spiritual Jew, right? 00:30:48.14\00:30:52.35 You become a spiritual follower of Jesus Christ. 00:30:52.38\00:30:55.12 So absolutely, if you so choose to be, 00:30:55.15\00:30:57.82 you can choose Christ, 00:30:57.85\00:30:59.19 and you now fall under the blessing and promise 00:30:59.22\00:31:01.72 of the New Covenant as brought through the blood 00:31:01.76\00:31:03.93 of Jesus Christ. 00:31:03.96\00:31:05.29 Amen. Wow, praise the Lord. 00:31:05.33\00:31:06.66 Yeah. Great, great answer. 00:31:06.70\00:31:08.00 And I tell you, what an incredible choice 00:31:08.03\00:31:10.57 that each one of us have right now, 00:31:10.63\00:31:11.97 the important choices of our lives. 00:31:12.00\00:31:15.50 John Dinzey, question from Anna. 00:31:15.54\00:31:17.47 And this is in reference to Matthew 11:2-3. 00:31:17.51\00:31:21.81 "My question is in reference 00:31:21.84\00:31:23.24 to John the Baptist's question to Jesus, 00:31:23.31\00:31:26.35 was he doubting Him? 00:31:26.38\00:31:27.72 Why would he ask 00:31:27.75\00:31:29.15 that if he witnessed the Holy Spirit's 00:31:29.18\00:31:31.02 dissent on Jesus when he was baptized?" 00:31:31.05\00:31:34.39 Yes, that is a good question, 00:31:34.42\00:31:35.79 because it seems like there was doubt. 00:31:35.82\00:31:38.86 I'm going to read. 00:31:38.89\00:31:40.26 I'm going to go ahead and read Matthew 2... 00:31:40.30\00:31:42.36 Chapter 11. 00:31:42.40\00:31:43.73 Yes, 11:2-3, 00:31:43.80\00:31:45.13 "And when John had heard in prison 00:31:45.17\00:31:47.47 about the works of Christ, 00:31:47.50\00:31:48.84 he sent two of his disciples and said to Him, 00:31:48.87\00:31:51.64 'Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?'" 00:31:51.67\00:31:55.81 Implying doubt. 00:31:55.84\00:31:57.61 And so the disciples went to see Jesus 00:31:57.65\00:32:00.55 with this question, expecting Jesus 00:32:00.62\00:32:03.39 to bring the answer that will satisfy John's question. 00:32:03.42\00:32:06.69 Now, I want to remind you 00:32:06.76\00:32:08.09 of what John the Baptist was preaching. 00:32:08.12\00:32:12.26 And that is, 00:32:12.29\00:32:14.50 that is that he started preaching, 00:32:14.56\00:32:18.13 repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. 00:32:18.17\00:32:21.67 That was his message. 00:32:21.70\00:32:23.04 Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. 00:32:23.07\00:32:24.64 And John the Baptist, like the majority of the Jews, 00:32:24.67\00:32:28.41 and including the disciples believed 00:32:28.44\00:32:30.91 that when the Messiah comes, 00:32:30.95\00:32:32.75 He would establish an earthly kingdom. 00:32:32.78\00:32:35.52 So John the Baptist was accustomed 00:32:35.55\00:32:37.55 to being here being there preaching the gospel 00:32:37.59\00:32:40.36 of Jesus Christ, 00:32:40.42\00:32:41.76 the kingdom is about to be established, repent. 00:32:41.79\00:32:44.76 But when he didn't see Jesus take the throne, 00:32:44.79\00:32:48.40 and declare Himself the Messiah 00:32:48.43\00:32:50.40 and sit on the throne and make Israel 00:32:50.43\00:32:52.77 the head over all the world, he was puzzled. 00:32:52.80\00:32:55.57 Why isn't He doing 00:32:55.60\00:32:56.94 what I believe He was going to be doing? 00:32:56.97\00:32:58.84 So he asked a question, 00:32:58.87\00:33:00.28 Are you the one that should come or do we look for another? 00:33:00.31\00:33:02.91 Now I want to read to you do what Jesus did. 00:33:02.94\00:33:06.31 In Matthew 11:4, 00:33:06.35\00:33:07.82 "Jesus answered and said unto them, 00:33:07.85\00:33:09.55 'Go and show John again, 00:33:09.58\00:33:11.62 those things which you do hear and see: 00:33:11.65\00:33:14.36 The blind received their sight, and the lame walk, 00:33:14.39\00:33:17.53 the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, 00:33:17.56\00:33:20.93 the dead are raised up, 00:33:20.96\00:33:22.40 and the poor have the gospel preached unto them.'" 00:33:22.43\00:33:26.30 John did not do any miracle. 00:33:26.33\00:33:27.74 Well, here comes Jesus under the power of the Holy Spirit 00:33:27.77\00:33:29.90 doing these miracles. 00:33:29.97\00:33:31.47 And it helped John to understand, 00:33:31.51\00:33:33.38 maybe I don't understand fully the mission of Jesus Christ. 00:33:33.44\00:33:36.81 And so the disciples did not understand, 00:33:36.85\00:33:38.45 the majority of the Jews did not. 00:33:38.48\00:33:40.18 And this is why Jesus had such a difficult time 00:33:40.22\00:33:42.68 with the scribes and the Pharisees. 00:33:42.72\00:33:44.42 And unfortunately, John died, gave up his life, 00:33:44.45\00:33:49.69 but he died believing that Jesus was the Messiah. 00:33:49.72\00:33:52.56 That's right. Amen to that. 00:33:52.59\00:33:54.00 Yes, thank you, Pastor Johnny. 00:33:54.03\00:33:56.80 Pastor Lomacang, this comes from Campbell. 00:33:56.83\00:34:00.34 Question is, 00:34:00.37\00:34:01.70 "It is said that the Ten Commandments 00:34:01.74\00:34:03.74 are 10 promises. 00:34:03.81\00:34:06.01 Can you explain that please?" 00:34:06.04\00:34:08.04 Wonderful, wonderful. 00:34:08.08\00:34:09.41 The Ten Commandments are not often referred 00:34:09.44\00:34:11.11 to as promises per se. 00:34:11.15\00:34:13.31 But because of obedience to the Ten Commandments, 00:34:13.35\00:34:17.12 God's promises are communicated and imparted to us. 00:34:17.19\00:34:21.62 Obedience always brings a blessing. 00:34:21.66\00:34:24.53 So when the Lord promises to bless us, 00:34:24.56\00:34:26.56 that blessing is always on the platform of obedience. 00:34:26.59\00:34:29.93 Deuteronomy 4:40, is an example of that. 00:34:29.96\00:34:33.07 And I'll talk about the promise in the commandment 00:34:33.10\00:34:34.94 in just a moment. 00:34:34.97\00:34:36.34 He said, "You shall therefore keep His statutes 00:34:36.37\00:34:39.21 and His commandments which I command you today, 00:34:39.24\00:34:41.88 that it may go well with you 00:34:41.91\00:34:43.61 and with your children after you, 00:34:43.65\00:34:46.78 and that you may prolong your days in the land 00:34:46.82\00:34:49.22 which the Lord your God is giving you for all time." 00:34:49.25\00:34:52.65 If you honor God's commandments, 00:34:52.69\00:34:54.02 He says, He's now going to be well with you, 00:34:54.06\00:34:56.59 and with your children now. 00:34:56.62\00:34:58.19 Let's follow that. Is that a promise? 00:34:58.23\00:34:59.83 Yes. It sure is. 00:34:59.86\00:35:01.23 If you do what's right, you will be blessed, 00:35:01.26\00:35:03.97 and your children will be blessed. 00:35:04.00\00:35:05.93 As the Lord says, showing mercy to thousands of those 00:35:05.97\00:35:08.80 who love me and keep My commandments. 00:35:08.84\00:35:11.21 Now, you say, Lord, you promised to bless me. 00:35:11.24\00:35:14.58 You promised to bless my children, 00:35:14.61\00:35:16.28 we are being obedient. 00:35:16.31\00:35:17.68 What about that promise? 00:35:17.71\00:35:19.05 His promise is for sure. 00:35:19.08\00:35:20.42 Everything that God says is yes and amen. 00:35:20.45\00:35:23.32 But specifically, 00:35:23.39\00:35:25.15 and He in Ephesians 6:2, it says, 00:35:25.19\00:35:28.16 "Honor your father and your mother, 00:35:28.19\00:35:29.86 which is the first commandment with promise." 00:35:29.89\00:35:33.06 What is the promise? 00:35:33.09\00:35:34.40 That your days may be long upon the land 00:35:34.46\00:35:36.40 which the Lord God gives you. 00:35:36.43\00:35:38.07 So if you want to be one who is blessed by God. 00:35:38.10\00:35:41.24 Remember Hebrews 9:15. 00:35:41.27\00:35:43.87 And for this reason, 00:35:43.91\00:35:45.24 He, Jesus is the mediator of the New Covenant. 00:35:45.27\00:35:48.88 Now, how does it end? 00:35:48.91\00:35:50.31 That those who are called may receive the promise 00:35:50.35\00:35:53.48 of eternal inheritance. 00:35:53.52\00:35:55.18 So the New Covenant includes the commandments of God. 00:35:55.22\00:35:58.45 Obedience always comes with the blessing. 00:35:58.49\00:36:00.99 If you want to experience God's blessings, 00:36:01.02\00:36:03.02 if you love Me, keep My commandments, 00:36:03.06\00:36:05.09 and the blessings will flow from the hand of God. 00:36:05.13\00:36:07.96 That's right. Amen. Amen. 00:36:07.96\00:36:09.30 Pastor John, I want to just ask you this question 00:36:09.33\00:36:10.67 that pertain to that. 00:36:10.70\00:36:12.03 So the motivation for keeping the commandments 00:36:12.07\00:36:13.44 is what you just said then, right? 00:36:13.47\00:36:14.80 It's love. Amen. 00:36:14.84\00:36:16.17 Not the stuff. Exactly. 00:36:16.20\00:36:18.31 I'm gonna keep the commandments, 00:36:18.34\00:36:19.67 so I could get stuff. 00:36:19.71\00:36:21.04 No. It's out of love for God. 00:36:21.08\00:36:22.41 Amen. No, thank you so much. 00:36:22.44\00:36:24.25 Fantastic answer. 00:36:24.28\00:36:26.38 Brother Ryan, 00:36:26.41\00:36:28.18 no name with this, but great question. 00:36:28.22\00:36:30.09 "If Christ is coming back to planet earth with us 00:36:30.12\00:36:33.66 at the end of 1000 years, 00:36:33.69\00:36:35.46 would that be a third coming of Jesus Christ?" 00:36:35.49\00:36:39.09 No. And I'll tell you why. 00:36:39.13\00:36:41.26 Because the coming or the return of Christ 00:36:41.30\00:36:43.93 is always within the context of coming to gather His people. 00:36:43.97\00:36:47.74 He does that at the Second Coming. 00:36:47.77\00:36:49.54 Now we know that Christ came the first time, 00:36:49.57\00:36:51.17 which obviously implies 00:36:51.21\00:36:52.54 He's coming the second time, right? 00:36:52.57\00:36:53.94 He came the first time as a babe. 00:36:53.98\00:36:55.31 The second time He's coming back as conquering Lord, 00:36:55.34\00:36:58.35 to gather His people. 00:36:58.38\00:37:00.25 But it's always, you'll find in the Bible, 00:37:00.28\00:37:02.28 it's never referred to or never will you find a word 00:37:02.32\00:37:04.75 of the comings of Christ or the returns of Christ. 00:37:04.79\00:37:08.12 This is popular evangelical terminology 00:37:08.16\00:37:11.33 that kind of fits into this false 00:37:11.36\00:37:12.99 pre-tribulation rapture theory, 00:37:13.03\00:37:15.06 which again, is the idea that Christ 00:37:15.10\00:37:16.60 is going to rapture the church, 00:37:16.67\00:37:18.00 there's going to be seven years of tribulation. 00:37:18.03\00:37:19.47 And then He's going to come back again a third time. 00:37:19.50\00:37:22.04 And then, of course, and this person, 00:37:22.07\00:37:23.41 in this case this person is asking after the 1000 years, 00:37:23.44\00:37:26.88 can we categorize that Christ returning with His people 00:37:26.91\00:37:30.35 as a third coming? 00:37:30.38\00:37:31.71 And the answer would be no, because He's not returning 00:37:31.75\00:37:33.28 to gather His people. 00:37:33.31\00:37:34.65 He simply coming back to forever set up 00:37:34.68\00:37:36.69 His eternal kingdom on a New Heaven 00:37:36.72\00:37:39.15 and a New Earth. 00:37:39.19\00:37:40.56 Revelation 21:2-3. 00:37:40.59\00:37:42.02 I read this earlier, but it talks about John says, 00:37:42.06\00:37:44.83 "I saw the holy city, the New Jerusalem 00:37:44.86\00:37:46.49 coming down out of heaven from God, 00:37:46.53\00:37:48.03 prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 00:37:48.06\00:37:50.57 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, 00:37:50.63\00:37:52.07 'Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men." 00:37:52.10\00:37:54.77 So we're with Him coming back. 00:37:54.80\00:37:56.54 He's not coming back for His people. 00:37:56.57\00:37:59.01 We are coming back with Him, which means it's not a coming. 00:37:59.04\00:38:02.01 It's simply Christ is bringing His eternal kingdom down, 00:38:02.04\00:38:05.68 and He will forever establish it. 00:38:05.71\00:38:08.02 You know, in the aftermath of that 1000 years 00:38:08.05\00:38:09.98 once He's done away with sin, 00:38:10.02\00:38:11.59 and He's recreated the New Heaven 00:38:11.62\00:38:13.12 and the New Earth. 00:38:13.15\00:38:14.49 So biblically speaking, 00:38:14.52\00:38:15.86 we cannot say this is a third coming 00:38:15.89\00:38:17.79 because the return or the coming of the Lord 00:38:17.83\00:38:20.63 is always within the context of Him coming back 00:38:20.66\00:38:22.96 to gather and redeem His people from the earth to be with Him. 00:38:23.00\00:38:26.63 In this case, we're already with Him, 00:38:26.67\00:38:28.47 so it's not a third coming. 00:38:28.50\00:38:29.90 Yeah. Excellent. 00:38:29.94\00:38:31.27 No, thank you very much for that clarification. 00:38:31.31\00:38:33.68 Pastor Johnny, question from Ronald. 00:38:33.71\00:38:36.54 "When Jesus was being nailed to the cross, 00:38:36.58\00:38:39.05 He prayed, 'Father, forgive them, 00:38:39.08\00:38:41.35 for they know not what they are doing.' 00:38:41.38\00:38:43.69 First of all, He was asking His Father 00:38:43.72\00:38:45.42 to forgive them because they didn't know 00:38:45.45\00:38:47.59 they were crucifying the Savior of the world. 00:38:47.66\00:38:50.06 Have you thought possibly 00:38:50.13\00:38:51.46 He was referring to something else? 00:38:51.49\00:38:53.29 I have thought for some time that He was thinking 00:38:53.33\00:38:55.43 that they were fulfilling 00:38:55.46\00:38:56.83 that God has planned for the salvation of the world. 00:38:56.87\00:38:59.57 In other words, they are fulfilling our plan. 00:38:59.60\00:39:02.67 What are your thoughts on this?" 00:39:02.70\00:39:04.91 This is a very interesting thinking that... 00:39:04.94\00:39:08.38 Ronald? Yeah, Ronald. 00:39:08.41\00:39:09.74 That he has a very interesting. 00:39:09.78\00:39:12.58 I would like to say that this is a question 00:39:12.61\00:39:16.58 that we can answer. 00:39:16.62\00:39:18.85 At least my thoughts are these. 00:39:18.89\00:39:22.19 The way that Jesus died on the cross was 00:39:22.22\00:39:25.59 not necessarily the way He had to die. 00:39:25.63\00:39:28.86 Let me clarify, because when you see 00:39:28.90\00:39:30.37 the sacrificial system, the sacrificial system shows 00:39:30.40\00:39:35.07 that at the altar, Jesus is... 00:39:35.10\00:39:38.14 I mean the lamb is put to death there, sins are confessed, 00:39:38.17\00:39:42.68 and that is almost a painless death, 00:39:42.71\00:39:46.05 you could say, because the way that these animals 00:39:46.08\00:39:48.42 were sacrificed. 00:39:48.45\00:39:50.59 Jesus went to extreme suffering and pain 00:39:50.62\00:39:53.96 and agony on the cross, 00:39:53.99\00:39:56.02 which was not necessary for our salvation. 00:39:56.06\00:39:59.63 He died for our sins. 00:39:59.66\00:40:01.43 He didn't have to go through all that physical torture 00:40:01.46\00:40:04.23 that He was put through. 00:40:04.27\00:40:05.63 But it's because of the sins of the people 00:40:05.67\00:40:08.37 and that they rejected Him 00:40:08.40\00:40:10.77 that He was subjected by, to be tortured by the Romans 00:40:10.81\00:40:14.51 and the Romans were experts in torturing people on a cross. 00:40:14.54\00:40:18.65 They had perfected this art to maximize 00:40:18.68\00:40:21.98 the suffering of the individual, 00:40:22.02\00:40:24.55 so that they could bring a message to people 00:40:24.59\00:40:28.99 if you do crimes, 00:40:29.02\00:40:31.33 this is what's going to happen to you. 00:40:31.36\00:40:32.93 So no, He did not have to die that way. 00:40:32.96\00:40:35.53 And the Lord will not have a people to work out, 00:40:35.56\00:40:41.30 worked this way to cause the Savior 00:40:41.34\00:40:43.94 such suffering to fulfill His plan. 00:40:43.97\00:40:46.71 Like I said, He could have simply died, 00:40:46.74\00:40:49.88 and gone to the temple and say, My time has come, 00:40:49.91\00:40:52.55 and there He could have died for us. 00:40:52.58\00:40:54.68 Now notice this in 1 Corinthians 2:8, 00:40:54.72\00:40:57.42 "Which none of the princes 00:40:57.45\00:40:58.79 of this world knew for had they known it, 00:40:58.82\00:41:02.16 they would not have crucified the Lord of glory." 00:41:02.19\00:41:06.13 In other words, 00:41:06.16\00:41:07.50 He could have died some other way, 00:41:07.50\00:41:09.30 not the excruciating suffering that He did. 00:41:09.33\00:41:11.60 But He died for each and every one of us, 00:41:11.63\00:41:13.74 accept Him as your Savior. 00:41:13.80\00:41:15.74 Amen. Thank you very much. 00:41:15.77\00:41:17.17 And thank you, Ronald. 00:41:17.21\00:41:18.74 You know, some people are thinking, you know. 00:41:18.77\00:41:20.14 That's right. Yeah. 00:41:20.18\00:41:21.51 And that's great. 00:41:21.54\00:41:22.91 This comes from Ken and Kimmy, and this question is for you, 00:41:22.94\00:41:26.31 Pastor Ryan. 00:41:26.35\00:41:27.68 Deuteronomy 22:5 states that, 00:41:27.72\00:41:30.75 "A woman shall not wear anything 00:41:30.79\00:41:32.39 that pertains to a man, 00:41:32.42\00:41:34.16 nor shall a man put on a woman's garment, 00:41:34.22\00:41:36.99 for all who do so are an abomination 00:41:37.03\00:41:38.93 to the Lord your God. 00:41:38.96\00:41:40.30 My question is this. 00:41:40.36\00:41:41.66 What about people that don't encourage a child 00:41:41.70\00:41:45.17 to be what God has created them 00:41:45.20\00:41:46.77 to be whether male or female? 00:41:46.80\00:41:49.00 I'm referring to transgenders. 00:41:49.04\00:41:51.17 Is the family going to be accountable? 00:41:51.21\00:41:53.54 What other Bible verses could help give us an answer to this? 00:41:53.61\00:41:57.28 Very heartfelt question there. Yeah, no, absolutely. 00:41:57.31\00:41:59.01 This is a very sensitive topic. 00:41:59.05\00:42:00.45 But I do just want to address the fact 00:42:00.52\00:42:02.08 when I first read this question, 00:42:02.12\00:42:03.49 my theological mind went directly to wanting to answer 00:42:03.52\00:42:06.29 the meaning behind Deuteronomy 22:5. 00:42:06.32\00:42:08.86 We might have answered that already on Bible Q and A, 00:42:08.89\00:42:11.23 but I would encourage someone to ask about that. 00:42:11.26\00:42:13.03 How do we make sense of that, that text, 00:42:13.06\00:42:15.30 but I want to address the question 00:42:15.33\00:42:16.83 which is dealing with people or families 00:42:16.87\00:42:19.17 who might not leave that child or a child 00:42:19.20\00:42:22.80 who might be confused in that aspect. 00:42:22.84\00:42:25.74 You know, in the direction of God's design and God's plan, 00:42:25.77\00:42:28.48 which is, you know, God created men 00:42:28.51\00:42:30.71 and women to be equal, but yet with different goals, 00:42:30.75\00:42:34.35 different purposes. 00:42:34.38\00:42:35.72 A man should be a man and a woman should be a woman. 00:42:35.75\00:42:37.45 And, of course, in this case, 00:42:37.49\00:42:38.82 in the context of Deuteronomy 22:5. 00:42:38.85\00:42:40.62 Obviously, God is saying, look, a man should look like a man 00:42:40.66\00:42:42.79 and a woman should like a woman 00:42:42.82\00:42:44.19 because they have different roles, right? 00:42:44.23\00:42:45.56 And they should look different, 00:42:45.59\00:42:46.93 they should look distinguishably different. 00:42:46.96\00:42:48.26 That being said, the question is in regards 00:42:48.30\00:42:50.73 to these family members 00:42:50.80\00:42:52.30 who may not encourage a child to follow God's divine plan. 00:42:52.33\00:42:56.04 We got to be careful 00:42:56.07\00:42:57.44 when we're talking about judgment 00:42:57.47\00:42:58.81 because we're not God, right? 00:42:58.84\00:43:00.24 We can't, we don't look upon a man's heart. 00:43:00.28\00:43:01.61 We can't read a person's thoughts or heart, 00:43:01.64\00:43:03.55 only God can do that. 00:43:03.58\00:43:04.91 But just simply addressing in the case of a person 00:43:04.95\00:43:07.62 who may cause a child to stumble or lead them 00:43:07.65\00:43:11.75 down a path that is not in harmony with God's Word. 00:43:11.79\00:43:14.79 What does Proverbs 22:6 tell us, 00:43:14.82\00:43:16.86 you know, "Train up a child in the way they should go, 00:43:16.93\00:43:18.99 and they will not depart from the faith." 00:43:19.03\00:43:20.40 We have a responsibility. 00:43:20.43\00:43:21.83 Parents, families, 00:43:21.86\00:43:23.67 anyone who has positive influence over a kid 00:43:23.73\00:43:26.27 should raise those children in the way of God. 00:43:26.30\00:43:29.34 And it's true, God's natural design, 00:43:29.37\00:43:31.41 His natural plans was that, you know, 00:43:31.44\00:43:33.84 a man should be a man and a woman should be a woman. 00:43:33.88\00:43:36.04 We shouldn't be cross-dressing or mixing the genders 00:43:36.08\00:43:38.98 or in this case, transgenderism, of course, 00:43:39.01\00:43:41.18 is not biblically sound, 00:43:41.22\00:43:42.72 it's not in harmony with God's Word. 00:43:42.75\00:43:44.25 It's a confusion brought about by the enemy. 00:43:44.29\00:43:47.16 Romans 1:26-29, and verse 32, 00:43:47.22\00:43:50.09 I want to read just a couple of these verses here. 00:43:50.13\00:43:52.19 It says, Romans 1:26, it says, 00:43:52.23\00:43:53.96 "For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. 00:43:54.00\00:43:56.70 For even their women exchanged the natural use 00:43:56.73\00:43:59.13 for what is against nature." 00:43:59.17\00:44:01.24 It's against nature for them, any male to be brought up 00:44:01.27\00:44:05.34 with this idea 00:44:05.37\00:44:06.71 that somehow I'm supposed to be a female, 00:44:06.78\00:44:08.34 or it's against God's plans. 00:44:08.38\00:44:10.28 His nature has designed for a woman to reach a point 00:44:10.35\00:44:13.15 or a young female to be encouraged to be, 00:44:13.18\00:44:15.42 you know what? 00:44:15.45\00:44:16.79 If you think you ought to be a man, 00:44:16.82\00:44:18.15 then maybe you ought to be a man. 00:44:18.19\00:44:19.52 Be what you want to be. 00:44:19.55\00:44:20.89 We have to encourage them to be in harmony 00:44:20.96\00:44:22.29 with God's plans. 00:44:22.32\00:44:23.66 And in this case, you know, 00:44:23.69\00:44:25.03 God talks negatively about this in Romans Chapter 26, 00:44:25.06\00:44:28.10 or excuse me, 1:26-29, and verse 32, 00:44:28.13\00:44:32.10 he goes on to say, 00:44:32.13\00:44:33.90 "Being filled with all unrighteousness, 00:44:33.94\00:44:35.54 sexual immorality." 00:44:35.57\00:44:37.07 And then in verse 32, it says, 00:44:37.11\00:44:38.44 "That those who practice such things are deserving of death." 00:44:38.47\00:44:41.14 This is a very serious issue. 00:44:41.18\00:44:43.31 So those people who have influence over a child 00:44:43.35\00:44:45.98 we have to be careful, 00:44:46.01\00:44:47.38 raise them up in the way of the Lord, 00:44:47.42\00:44:49.28 because Matthew 5:19, tells us, 00:44:49.32\00:44:52.19 "Whoever therefore breaks one of the least 00:44:52.22\00:44:54.66 of these commandments, and teaches men so, 00:44:54.69\00:44:57.63 shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven." 00:44:57.66\00:45:00.23 We also know that a child sins, 00:45:00.26\00:45:02.43 you know, father is not going to be held responsible 00:45:02.46\00:45:03.97 for the child sins, the child sins not going 00:45:04.00\00:45:05.90 to be held responsible for the father sins 00:45:05.93\00:45:07.87 according to Ezekiel 18. 00:45:07.90\00:45:09.67 We have to understand that there's a personal 00:45:09.70\00:45:11.61 accountability there. 00:45:11.64\00:45:12.97 But we certainly don't want any blood on our hands 00:45:13.01\00:45:15.14 because we had a negative influence on someone 00:45:15.18\00:45:17.81 and not leading them up in the way 00:45:17.85\00:45:20.05 that God wanted them to be. 00:45:20.12\00:45:21.45 So the answer to this question is very direct. 00:45:21.48\00:45:23.72 Yes, there can be and will be accountability 00:45:23.79\00:45:26.45 for any family member, 00:45:26.49\00:45:27.89 parent, or anyone who does not raise up a child 00:45:27.92\00:45:30.73 in the way that they should be in the faith of God. 00:45:30.76\00:45:32.83 Now, the truth is, there's some kids, 00:45:32.86\00:45:34.66 that they're raised in that faith. 00:45:34.73\00:45:36.53 And unfortunately, it's a personal choice. 00:45:36.56\00:45:39.13 And that's where the personal accountability comes in. 00:45:39.17\00:45:41.60 But in this case, be careful not to be judged. 00:45:41.64\00:45:43.67 Let God be the judge. 00:45:43.71\00:45:45.44 God's judgment is perfect. 00:45:45.47\00:45:48.58 Thank you so much for the answer. 00:45:48.61\00:45:49.94 And thank you for submitting the question. 00:45:50.01\00:45:52.51 Pastor John, this comes from Sherry from Antigua. 00:45:52.55\00:45:56.32 "Please explain the difference between presumption and faith. 00:45:56.35\00:45:59.72 Let's say a hurricane is headed for Antigua in the Caribbean. 00:45:59.75\00:46:02.69 And I do all in my power to protect life and property. 00:46:02.72\00:46:06.19 I asked God to keep us safe, then another brethren says, 00:46:06.23\00:46:09.23 I do not have faith, otherwise, 00:46:09.26\00:46:10.90 I wouldn't be doing all I have done. 00:46:10.97\00:46:12.63 God will protect His people. 00:46:12.67\00:46:14.37 Is faith an action word?" 00:46:14.40\00:46:17.11 Well, let me just tell you, 00:46:17.14\00:46:18.47 your response to your brethren should be 00:46:18.51\00:46:20.51 when the hurricane is done, 00:46:20.58\00:46:21.94 you won't have a house 00:46:21.98\00:46:23.88 because faith is an action word. 00:46:23.95\00:46:25.91 Let me explain the difference between presumption and faith. 00:46:25.95\00:46:29.12 Presumption is following through on an act 00:46:29.15\00:46:32.05 that you know God has prohibited 00:46:32.09\00:46:34.56 seeking God's blessings anyway. 00:46:34.59\00:46:37.36 Faith is trusting God to bring to pass 00:46:37.43\00:46:39.79 what He has promised. 00:46:39.83\00:46:41.13 That's why Hebrews says, 00:46:41.16\00:46:43.20 "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, 00:46:43.23\00:46:46.30 the evidence of things not seen." 00:46:46.33\00:46:48.20 Faith says I believe God's Word, 00:46:48.24\00:46:50.47 I'm going to follow God's Word. 00:46:50.51\00:46:51.97 And God's promises are going to come as a result 00:46:52.01\00:46:54.04 of me taking His Word by as his sure word. 00:46:54.08\00:46:59.91 Okay. We do. We have a sure word. 00:47:00.05\00:47:01.78 And so when we do what God says, 00:47:01.82\00:47:03.92 it's not presumption. 00:47:03.95\00:47:05.29 It's, in fact, faith, 00:47:05.32\00:47:06.65 but it happens before the actual act comes. 00:47:06.69\00:47:10.29 But one of the examples in the Bible, 00:47:10.36\00:47:11.73 Jesus blessed the bread, 00:47:11.76\00:47:14.63 and before the Lord divided that into so many, 00:47:14.66\00:47:20.27 many more quantities, 00:47:20.34\00:47:22.17 He thanked His Father before the blessing came. 00:47:22.20\00:47:25.71 So faith says, I thank You, Lord, 00:47:25.74\00:47:27.28 before the blessing comes. 00:47:27.31\00:47:29.08 But let me show you why faith is an action word. 00:47:29.11\00:47:30.85 James 2:18, "But someone will say, 00:47:30.88\00:47:34.02 'You have faith and I have works.' 00:47:34.05\00:47:35.92 Show me your faith without your works, 00:47:35.95\00:47:37.82 and I will show you my faith by my works." 00:47:37.85\00:47:40.76 Faith without works is dead. 00:47:40.79\00:47:43.73 You don't barb up your house, 00:47:43.76\00:47:45.56 it'd be gone when the hurricane is done. 00:47:45.59\00:47:47.00 You could say to your brethren, 00:47:47.03\00:47:48.33 well, I guess your faith didn't preserve your house. 00:47:48.36\00:47:50.73 If you do what you know you should do, 00:47:50.77\00:47:52.80 put those storm windows in place, 00:47:52.83\00:47:55.00 tie down things that could be blown away 00:47:55.04\00:47:56.87 in heavy gale winds. 00:47:56.91\00:47:58.24 That's not presumption. 00:47:58.27\00:47:59.61 That's not putting God on the hook to say 00:47:59.64\00:48:01.34 you better save my house. 00:48:01.38\00:48:02.71 I'm not gonna do anything to save it, 00:48:02.74\00:48:04.11 it's Your responsibility. 00:48:04.18\00:48:06.28 When you can't do anything, God will step in. 00:48:06.31\00:48:09.18 But if He gives you the requirement 00:48:09.22\00:48:10.82 to do something, you must do it. 00:48:10.85\00:48:13.19 Presumption is as James 4:17, 00:48:13.22\00:48:15.79 "To him who knows to do good 00:48:15.82\00:48:17.36 and does not do it, to him that is sin." 00:48:17.39\00:48:19.93 Doing what you must is not presumption. 00:48:19.96\00:48:22.10 It is faith and continuing to trust God. 00:48:22.13\00:48:24.93 Amen. Great answer. 00:48:24.97\00:48:26.77 Amen to that. 00:48:26.84\00:48:28.17 Pastor Johnny, this question comes from 00:48:28.20\00:48:30.01 Rosemarie from Jamaica. 00:48:30.04\00:48:32.24 "Is it right for Christians to drink?" Yes. 00:48:32.27\00:48:36.08 I understand your question that, not that you, 00:48:36.11\00:48:40.05 you said about water. 00:48:40.12\00:48:41.45 Yes, you can drink water. So, okay. 00:48:41.48\00:48:43.12 Water is okay. Okay. Okay. 00:48:43.15\00:48:44.65 Back to the question of drink, 00:48:44.69\00:48:46.02 I am sure you're talking about alcoholic beverages. 00:48:46.05\00:48:48.59 So I will say no, no, no, 00:48:48.62\00:48:50.83 or maybe capital N capital O with an exclamation point. 00:48:50.86\00:48:53.80 If you want to add more exclamation points, 00:48:53.83\00:48:55.23 you go ahead. 00:48:55.26\00:48:56.63 But no, Proverbs 20:1 says, "Wine is a mocker, 00:48:56.67\00:48:59.70 strong drink is a brawler, 00:48:59.73\00:49:01.67 and whoever is led astray by it is not wise." 00:49:01.70\00:49:05.47 I'm going to refer you to some medical things about this. 00:49:05.51\00:49:10.28 There are some short term effects 00:49:10.31\00:49:12.15 of alcohol on the brain. 00:49:12.18\00:49:13.55 And there are some long term effects on the brain. 00:49:13.58\00:49:17.12 And I'm quoting to you from webmd.com 00:49:17.15\00:49:21.49 And it says, "Alcohol immediately changes 00:49:21.52\00:49:24.59 brain chemistry. 00:49:24.63\00:49:25.96 When consumed, alcohol increases activity of gamma. 00:49:25.99\00:49:30.97 The majority, 00:49:31.00\00:49:32.33 the major inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain 00:49:32.37\00:49:35.44 and suppresses the activity of the neurons, 00:49:35.47\00:49:38.21 causing slurred speech, unsteady gait, 00:49:38.24\00:49:41.28 lapses in short term memories, and slowed reflexes." 00:49:41.31\00:49:46.28 And so, these are the short term effects. 00:49:46.31\00:49:49.55 Long term effects of alcohol on the brain, it says, 00:49:49.58\00:49:52.22 "Drinking can have long term effects on your brain 00:49:52.25\00:49:55.09 increased, including decreased cognitive function 00:49:55.12\00:49:59.86 and memory issues." 00:49:59.89\00:50:01.76 So looking at from the health standpoint, 00:50:01.80\00:50:05.40 it is dangerous to drink. 00:50:05.43\00:50:08.07 And the Bible says, Wine is a mocker, 00:50:08.10\00:50:09.74 strong drink is raging, 00:50:09.77\00:50:11.51 and fool is the man who is deceived thereby." 00:50:11.54\00:50:14.14 Now 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says, 00:50:14.18\00:50:17.65 "Or do you not know that your body is the temple 00:50:17.68\00:50:20.28 of the Holy Spirit who is in you, 00:50:20.32\00:50:22.12 whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 00:50:22.15\00:50:25.19 For you were bought at a price, 00:50:25.22\00:50:27.22 therefore glorify God in your body 00:50:27.26\00:50:30.13 and in your spirit, which are God's." 00:50:30.19\00:50:32.26 So what you take in, whatever you eat or drink, 00:50:32.29\00:50:36.06 do it to the glory of God, the Bible says. 00:50:36.10\00:50:39.33 And so I say to you, if you're going to consume 00:50:39.37\00:50:42.14 alcoholic beverages that affects your speech, 00:50:42.17\00:50:44.37 that affects your thinking process. 00:50:44.41\00:50:46.71 And we are living in dangerous times, 00:50:46.74\00:50:49.54 it is no time to have your mind affected by alcohol 00:50:49.58\00:50:53.55 or any other drug that causes you not to be able 00:50:53.58\00:50:57.22 to function properly, or evaluate things properly, 00:50:57.25\00:51:01.26 and even lead you into sin. 00:51:01.29\00:51:03.19 Many a young men and women under the effects of alcohol 00:51:03.22\00:51:06.80 have done things 00:51:06.83\00:51:08.26 that they regret for the rest of their lives. 00:51:08.30\00:51:11.27 So I want to encourage you to keep away from these things. 00:51:11.30\00:51:14.10 Don't even taste it because when you taste it, 00:51:14.14\00:51:16.37 the devil begins a process of tempting you 00:51:16.40\00:51:20.18 to cause you to go down a... 00:51:20.24\00:51:22.78 Like Pastor Lomacang says, some down, 00:51:22.81\00:51:24.95 something that continues to spiral downward. 00:51:24.98\00:51:27.95 And so 1 Peter 5:8 says, "Be sober, be vigilant." 00:51:27.98\00:51:31.99 How can you be sober and be vigilant 00:51:32.02\00:51:33.66 if you are under the effects of alcohol? 00:51:33.72\00:51:35.82 Because your adversary, 00:51:35.86\00:51:37.19 the devil walks about like a roaring lion seeking 00:51:37.23\00:51:40.06 whom he may devour. 00:51:40.10\00:51:41.73 And you will be easy to be devoured 00:51:41.76\00:51:45.13 if your mind is not working properly. 00:51:45.17\00:51:47.67 I urge you not to even start. 00:51:47.70\00:51:49.50 Yeah. Excellent. 00:51:49.54\00:51:50.87 Thank you so much, Pastor Johnny. 00:51:50.91\00:51:52.44 You know, the Bible is clear. 00:51:52.47\00:51:54.14 And it's neat how science isn't it backs it up to so, 00:51:54.21\00:51:56.71 yeah, not that the Bible needs any backing up, 00:51:56.78\00:51:58.41 but it's just really neat, for sure. 00:51:58.45\00:52:00.52 We're gonna take a quick break. 00:52:00.55\00:52:01.88 We'll be right back. 00:52:01.92\00:52:05.12 If you're enjoying our 3ABN Bible Q and A, 00:52:05.15\00:52:08.26 then tell your friends, 00:52:08.29\00:52:09.92 each Monday we'll bring you a fresh program, 00:52:09.96\00:52:12.63 answering the Bible questions you send us, 00:52:12.66\00:52:14.86 using God's Holy Word to shed light on those texts 00:52:14.93\00:52:18.20 that seem difficult to understand. 00:52:18.23\00:52:20.50 To have your questions answered on the future program, 00:52:20.54\00:52:23.17 just email them to us at BibleQA@3abn.tv 00:52:23.20\00:52:28.38 That's BibleQA@3abn.tv 00:52:28.41\00:52:32.18 You may also text your questions 00:52:32.21\00:52:33.82 to (618) 228-3975. 00:52:33.88\00:52:37.85 That's (618) 228-3975. 00:52:37.89\00:52:41.56 Be sure to include your name and where you live, 00:52:41.59\00:52:43.89 and then watch 3ABN Bible Q and A 00:52:43.93\00:52:46.46 for answers from God's Word. 00:52:46.49\00:52:48.66
