00:06:47.50\00:06:49.60 Did they hear it or was it just the impression? 00:06:49.64\00:06:52.77 We don't know, but I do believe 00:06:52.81\00:06:54.74 God still speaks to His children. 00:06:54.78\00:06:57.21 Regarding His face. 00:06:57.25\00:06:59.55 Exodus 33:20, God said to Moses, 00:06:59.58\00:07:02.75 "You can't see My face." 00:07:02.78\00:07:04.19 So He hid him in the cleft of the rock, 00:07:04.22\00:07:06.72 He passed by and declared His glory. 00:07:06.76\00:07:10.26 When we think about seeking God's face, David said, 00:07:10.29\00:07:14.30 "When You said seek My face, Lord, 00:07:14.30\00:07:16.26 I said, Your face I will seek." 00:07:16.30\00:07:18.17 That's seeking the presence of God, 00:07:18.20\00:07:21.47 but we did see the face of Jesus 00:07:21.50\00:07:25.71 who was God veiled in the flesh 00:07:25.74\00:07:28.68 and the only time people really saw God face to face. 00:07:28.71\00:07:32.11 That's an expression 00:07:32.15\00:07:34.18 but was when it was at the Ophany or Christophany 00:07:34.22\00:07:38.19 when God was veiled in the Old Testament. 00:07:38.22\00:07:40.72 Amen. 00:07:40.76\00:07:42.09 Beautiful answer, thank you. 00:07:42.12\00:07:44.33 And praise God because His whole scripture 00:07:44.39\00:07:47.23 and we all have Bibles. 00:07:47.30\00:07:49.40 And if you don't have a Bible, please download the app. 00:07:49.43\00:07:52.73 There are Bibles you can download 00:07:52.77\00:07:55.00 into your smartphones, you know. 00:07:55.04\00:07:58.07 Well, Mrs. Morikone, I have a question for you. 00:07:58.11\00:08:01.68 Yes, ma'am. 00:08:01.71\00:08:03.04 "There are two different types of faith in the Bible, 00:08:03.08\00:08:06.45 the faith of Jesus and our faith in Jesus?" 00:08:06.48\00:08:10.12 Cheryl asks. 00:08:10.15\00:08:11.69 This is a great question, Cheryl, 00:08:11.72\00:08:13.09 and hopefully we're actually going to dive 00:08:13.12\00:08:15.09 into the Greek in this answer here 00:08:15.12\00:08:17.09 if we can accomplish this in our time. 00:08:17.13\00:08:19.36 If you look at Revelation 14:12, 00:08:19.39\00:08:21.96 what does it say? 00:08:22.00\00:08:23.33 "Here's the patience of the saints, 00:08:23.37\00:08:24.70 here are they that keep the commandments of God 00:08:24.73\00:08:27.04 and the faith of Jesus." 00:08:27.07\00:08:29.10 Now, some Bible translations say faith in Jesus. 00:08:29.14\00:08:32.47 Some Bible translations say faith of Jesus. 00:08:32.51\00:08:35.88 And if you look at the original Greek, 00:08:35.91\00:08:38.41 the word is pistis iesous. 00:08:38.45\00:08:40.85 So I would submit to you, 00:08:40.88\00:08:42.62 it is not the faith of Jesus or faith in Jesus, 00:08:42.65\00:08:46.76 but rather Jesus' faith manifested in the life 00:08:46.79\00:08:52.26 of the believer. 00:08:52.29\00:08:53.63 If you look at the Greek word, pistis, 00:08:53.66\00:08:55.06 it means faith or faithfulness 00:08:55.10\00:08:57.97 and it can be translated either way. 00:08:58.00\00:09:00.80 Faith is always a gift from God. 00:09:00.84\00:09:02.70 It's never produced by people. 00:09:02.74\00:09:05.31 It's always received from God and never generated by us. 00:09:05.34\00:09:10.78 Some Greek New Testament scholars say 00:09:10.81\00:09:13.15 that this pistis christou or the pistis iesous 00:09:13.18\00:09:17.19 should be translated Christ's faithfulness 00:09:17.22\00:09:20.92 instead of faith in Christ. 00:09:20.99\00:09:23.96 It's very interesting. 00:09:23.99\00:09:25.33 If you look at Galatians 2:20, what does that say, 00:09:25.36\00:09:27.66 "I've been crucified with Christ. 00:09:27.73\00:09:29.53 Nevertheless, it is not I who live 00:09:29.56\00:09:31.37 but Christ who lives in me 00:09:31.40\00:09:33.94 and the life which I now live in the flesh 00:09:33.97\00:09:36.67 I live by faith in the Son of God, 00:09:36.71\00:09:39.67 who loved me and gave Himself for me." 00:09:39.71\00:09:41.88 But if you look at the original Greek, 00:09:41.91\00:09:43.85 you could actually translate this, 00:09:43.88\00:09:46.45 "I've been crucified with Christ. 00:09:46.48\00:09:48.12 It's no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me, 00:09:48.15\00:09:51.19 and the life I now live, I live," how? 00:09:51.22\00:09:54.46 "Because of the faithfulness of the Son of God, 00:09:54.49\00:09:58.23 who loved me and gave Himself for me." 00:09:58.26\00:10:01.66 It's beautiful to think that it is Christ 00:10:01.70\00:10:05.07 who gives us the faith, His faith resides in us. 00:10:05.10\00:10:09.70 So is it faith in Jesus or faith of Jesus? 00:10:09.74\00:10:12.81 It's Jesus' faith in the life of the believer. 00:10:12.84\00:10:16.28 Amen. 00:10:16.31\00:10:17.65 Very good. Amen. 00:10:17.71\00:10:19.05 Amen. 00:10:19.08\00:10:20.42 Wow. 00:10:20.45\00:10:21.78 Well, we have a question 00:10:21.82\00:10:23.15 for blessed are you among women. 00:10:23.18\00:10:28.86 We're all here and you are the only guy here. 00:10:28.89\00:10:32.19 It just dawned on me. 00:10:32.23\00:10:34.56 Well, John Dinzey, this is a question from Ed. 00:10:34.56\00:10:38.80 It says, "Why is there no record 00:10:38.83\00:10:41.37 whatsoever of Jesus' life 00:10:41.40\00:10:44.64 from age 12 to age 30?" 00:10:44.67\00:10:49.14 John Dinzey? 00:10:49.18\00:10:50.51 Okay, that is a good question. 00:10:50.58\00:10:52.78 And I've asked myself that as well. 00:10:52.81\00:10:55.52 And I think most people have. 00:10:55.55\00:10:57.72 Now let's go to the scriptures to see 00:10:57.75\00:10:59.72 what it does say about Jesus. 00:10:59.75\00:11:02.56 Look at Luke 2:40 it says, 00:11:02.59\00:11:05.13 "And the child grew and became strong in spirit, 00:11:05.16\00:11:09.33 filled with wisdom 00:11:09.36\00:11:11.00 and the grace of God was upon Him." 00:11:11.03\00:11:15.20 And in Luke 2:52, it says, 00:11:15.24\00:11:17.17 "And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature 00:11:17.21\00:11:20.11 and in favor with God and men." 00:11:20.14\00:11:24.11 Now, this second part, I believe, 00:11:24.18\00:11:27.35 gives us a hint that He went about doing good, 00:11:27.38\00:11:30.75 doing good to others. 00:11:30.82\00:11:32.15 However, as far as doing miracles is concerned, 00:11:32.19\00:11:36.56 I think He limited Himself 00:11:36.59\00:11:38.89 until He started His public ministry. 00:11:38.93\00:11:42.63 Why doesn't it show more? 00:11:42.66\00:11:44.67 Because the Bible really focuses 00:11:44.70\00:11:46.77 much more on His ministry as our Savior 00:11:46.80\00:11:50.64 and His ministry, His public ministry, 00:11:50.71\00:11:53.84 the miracles that took place as He went about preaching, 00:11:53.88\00:11:57.08 the resistance He received to the preaching of the gospel, 00:11:57.11\00:12:00.98 and also the miracles He did 00:12:01.02\00:12:03.22 to show that He was the true Messiah. 00:12:03.25\00:12:06.22 You see, the prophecies concerning Jesus, 00:12:06.25\00:12:09.89 in the Old Testament, all were prophecies 00:12:09.92\00:12:12.73 that really were about His adulthood, 00:12:12.76\00:12:16.46 His time as He was in public ministry. 00:12:16.50\00:12:19.43 Now, in the Book of John 21:25, 00:12:19.47\00:12:23.71 there's something very interesting 00:12:23.74\00:12:25.24 that I would like to bring to the table and that is, 00:12:25.27\00:12:28.91 and there are also many other things 00:12:28.94\00:12:31.45 that Jesus did, 00:12:31.48\00:12:32.81 which if they were written one by one, 00:12:32.85\00:12:35.72 I suppose that even the world itself 00:12:35.75\00:12:39.22 could not contain the books that would be written. 00:12:39.25\00:12:42.96 Amen. 00:12:42.99\00:12:44.33 And that's how it concludes. 00:12:44.36\00:12:45.69 So I would say to you, 00:12:45.73\00:12:47.03 if the whole life of Jesus as a child was put there, 00:12:47.10\00:12:51.03 there wouldn't be enough room 00:12:51.07\00:12:52.40 to contain all the books of all the good deeds He did 00:12:52.43\00:12:54.44 because He just longed to be a blessing to people. 00:12:54.50\00:12:58.61 It's good. Amen. 00:12:58.64\00:13:00.04 Amen. Thank you very much. 00:13:00.08\00:13:02.01 Now we're going to go back to Mrs. Morikone. 00:13:02.04\00:13:04.65 And we have this question here. 00:13:04.68\00:13:06.51 Before I go to the question, I'd like to ask you, 00:13:06.55\00:13:09.68 are you enjoying the program so far? 00:13:09.72\00:13:11.69 Are these questions that have crossed your mind 00:13:11.72\00:13:14.39 or wondered about? 00:13:14.46\00:13:15.86 Well, I'm sure you have questions 00:13:15.89\00:13:17.56 and you'd like to text in your questions as well. 00:13:17.63\00:13:21.36 So I'd like to share the number 00:13:21.40\00:13:23.67 that you can text your questions 00:13:23.70\00:13:25.73 to as it is on the screen 00:13:25.77\00:13:27.40 and those who are listening through radio, 00:13:27.44\00:13:29.64 it's (618) 228-3975. 00:13:29.67\00:13:35.41 (618) 228-3975. 00:13:35.44\00:13:39.95 Of course, those of you who prefer to send an email, 00:13:39.98\00:13:43.08 you can send your email 00:13:43.12\00:13:44.49 to BibleQA@3abn.tv 00:13:44.55\00:13:50.19 BibleQA@3abn.tv 00:13:50.23\00:13:55.10 So, Mrs. Morikone, we have this question 00:13:55.13\00:13:59.00 that is very common and I hear a lot. 00:13:59.03\00:14:02.47 "What do we do 00:14:02.50\00:14:03.84 when the Sunday law comes into effect?" 00:14:03.87\00:14:07.04 Thank you so much for that. 00:14:07.08\00:14:08.74 I would say we do four things. 00:14:08.78\00:14:10.38 You know, I like lists, so here's the four things. 00:14:10.41\00:14:12.71 First, trust your relationship with God. 00:14:12.75\00:14:17.09 In other words, do what you have always done. 00:14:17.12\00:14:21.12 If you followed Jesus before, then you're going to follow Him 00:14:21.16\00:14:24.03 when the Sunday law comes into effect. 00:14:24.06\00:14:26.66 Revelation 22:11, 00:14:26.70\00:14:28.03 we see this at the very end of time. 00:14:28.06\00:14:29.40 Jesus says, "He who is unjust let him be unjust still. 00:14:29.43\00:14:32.13 He who is righteous, let him be righteous still." 00:14:32.17\00:14:35.20 And we see that contrast. 00:14:35.24\00:14:37.27 So when the Sunday law comes into effect, 00:14:37.31\00:14:39.34 it's not the time then to say, "I need to find Jesus." 00:14:39.37\00:14:42.71 You need to find Jesus today. 00:14:42.74\00:14:45.08 Trust your relationship with God, 00:14:45.11\00:14:47.02 do what you've always done. 00:14:47.05\00:14:48.38 Number two, trust that God will give you His words. 00:14:48.45\00:14:52.39 Luke 12:11-12, Jesus says, 00:14:52.42\00:14:54.99 "When they bring you to the synagogues 00:14:55.02\00:14:56.86 and the magistrates and the authorities, 00:14:56.89\00:14:59.06 don't worry about how you're going to answer 00:14:59.09\00:15:01.46 or what you should say, 00:15:01.53\00:15:02.90 for the Holy Spirit will teach you that very hour 00:15:02.93\00:15:07.34 what you should say." 00:15:07.37\00:15:08.80 So don't worry about what you're going to say 00:15:08.84\00:15:10.94 when the Sunday law goes into effect. 00:15:10.97\00:15:13.38 Trust God to grant you His words. 00:15:13.41\00:15:16.41 Number three, trust God to give you His peace. 00:15:16.44\00:15:21.75 We don't have to be afraid. 00:15:21.78\00:15:23.28 We don't have to walk in fear of the Sunday law. 00:15:23.32\00:15:26.49 John 16:33, 00:15:26.52\00:15:28.52 "These things I've spoken to you 00:15:28.59\00:15:30.43 that in Me you would have peace." 00:15:30.46\00:15:33.09 In the world we're going to have tribulation 00:15:33.13\00:15:35.63 but Jesus says, "Be of good cheer, 00:15:35.66\00:15:38.07 I have overcome the world." 00:15:38.10\00:15:40.57 Amen. 00:15:40.60\00:15:41.94 Finally, number four, trust God to give you His wisdom. 00:15:41.97\00:15:47.78 Isaiah 30:21, 00:15:47.81\00:15:49.58 "Your ears, you're going to hear a voice 00:15:49.61\00:15:51.68 behind you saying, 00:15:51.75\00:15:53.15 this is the way walk in it, 00:15:53.18\00:15:55.32 when you turn to the right hand or when you turn to the left." 00:15:55.35\00:15:58.95 So did you notice all four of those steps 00:15:58.99\00:16:01.02 started with a word trust? 00:16:01.06\00:16:02.52 In other words, we don't have to be afraid of what's coming. 00:16:02.56\00:16:06.49 We don't have to be afraid of the future 00:16:06.53\00:16:08.80 because we can trust our Lord, Jesus Christ. 00:16:08.83\00:16:11.97 Amen. Amen. 00:16:12.00\00:16:13.34 Hallelujah. I love it. 00:16:13.37\00:16:14.84 Now, Mrs. Quinn. 00:16:14.87\00:16:16.47 Yes. 00:16:16.50\00:16:17.84 Mrs. Quinn, "God said to make the seventh day holy, 00:16:17.91\00:16:21.61 but there's only one seventh day 00:16:21.68\00:16:24.55 in each month. 00:16:24.58\00:16:26.18 So by worshipping every Saturday, 00:16:26.21\00:16:28.42 isn't that man's law and not God's?" 00:16:28.45\00:16:32.29 Ronald's from Maryland asked you a question. 00:16:32.32\00:16:34.36 Okay, Ronald, let's look at how we measure time. 00:16:34.39\00:16:38.96 A year is the time 00:16:38.99\00:16:40.56 that it takes the earth to rotate around the sun. 00:16:40.60\00:16:43.47 A month is measured by the time 00:16:43.50\00:16:45.47 it takes the moon to rotate around the earth. 00:16:45.50\00:16:48.44 But where did we get the weekly cycle? 00:16:48.50\00:16:52.37 A weekly cycle is measured by an interval of seven days. 00:16:52.41\00:16:57.65 Where did we get that because God created the week 00:16:57.71\00:17:02.18 in the Bible in the beginning. 00:17:02.22\00:17:05.59 What God did was created the earth in six days 00:17:05.62\00:17:08.59 and on the seventh day, He rested. 00:17:08.66\00:17:11.73 You will see in the Bible 00:17:11.76\00:17:13.66 that it talks about the first day, second day, 00:17:13.70\00:17:16.00 third day, fourth day, fifth day, 00:17:16.03\00:17:18.23 the sixth day is called Preparation Day, 00:17:18.27\00:17:20.94 the seventh day is the Sabbath. 00:17:20.97\00:17:24.11 So when God is speaking, 00:17:24.14\00:17:26.47 there is no eighth day in the Bible. 00:17:26.51\00:17:31.41 It's going in a weekly cycle. 00:17:31.45\00:17:33.45 So when we talk about 00:17:33.48\00:17:36.12 when you said that there's only one seventh day 00:17:36.15\00:17:38.99 in each month, it's true, 00:17:39.02\00:17:41.12 if you are numbering sequentially 00:17:41.16\00:17:44.59 on a calendar. 00:17:44.63\00:17:48.13 Thank you, starting to say a map. 00:17:48.16\00:17:50.63 That you'd only see one day seven 00:17:50.67\00:17:52.67 but there is a seventh day in every weekly cycle. 00:17:52.70\00:17:56.30 And we see Matthew 28:1 00:17:56.34\00:17:59.27 that Mary Magdalene on the first day of the week 00:17:59.31\00:18:02.98 after that would be Sunday after she came to the grave. 00:18:03.01\00:18:07.35 And so this is something that 00:18:07.38\00:18:10.19 you just have to get in your mind is that 00:18:10.22\00:18:12.55 it is the seventh day that God sanctified, 00:18:12.59\00:18:16.46 that He blessed. 00:18:16.49\00:18:18.09 He set it aside. 00:18:18.13\00:18:19.56 Sanctified means to be set aside 00:18:19.59\00:18:21.96 for a special purpose. 00:18:22.03\00:18:23.40 The seventh day is the Lord's Day, 00:18:23.43\00:18:26.80 it is His Holy Sabbath. 00:18:26.84\00:18:28.77 Amen. 00:18:28.80\00:18:30.14 Beautifully said. 00:18:30.17\00:18:31.64 Now, John Dinzey, 00:18:31.67\00:18:33.91 have a question for you from Botswana. 00:18:33.94\00:18:37.48 And his name is Petso. 00:18:37.51\00:18:41.58 The question is, "Should Adventists 00:18:41.65\00:18:43.92 be involved in politics? 00:18:43.95\00:18:46.49 Should they become presidents and ministers 00:18:46.52\00:18:49.86 or anything of that sort? 00:18:49.89\00:18:52.29 What does the Bible say about the issue?" 00:18:52.33\00:18:56.97 Well, the Bible doesn't clearly specify 00:18:57.00\00:18:59.80 if you should be president and things like that. 00:18:59.83\00:19:02.10 I want to bring out to you 1 Corinthians 1:23. 00:19:02.17\00:19:06.14 Paul says, "All things are lawful for me, 00:19:06.17\00:19:08.71 but not all things are helpful. 00:19:08.74\00:19:10.31 All things are lawful for me, but not all things edify." 00:19:10.35\00:19:13.92 So in bringing an answer to you concerning this, 00:19:13.95\00:19:18.32 if you have a desire to serve in public office, 00:19:18.35\00:19:22.86 you have to understand that 00:19:22.89\00:19:25.73 you're going to be in public view 00:19:25.76\00:19:27.60 and you should behave yourself as a Christian 00:19:27.60\00:19:30.70 100% of the time. 00:19:30.73\00:19:32.90 Amen. 00:19:32.93\00:19:34.27 You know, to me, a Christian should be the best person 00:19:34.30\00:19:39.07 to become a political person, 00:19:39.11\00:19:41.58 somebody to serve in public office 00:19:41.61\00:19:43.14 because they're going to uphold God's law 00:19:43.18\00:19:45.45 and they're going to love their fellow man, 00:19:45.48\00:19:47.38 as they love themselves. 00:19:47.42\00:19:49.65 A true Christian will. 00:19:49.68\00:19:51.02 They would make the best presidents, 00:19:51.05\00:19:52.65 the best mayors and governors. 00:19:52.69\00:19:55.46 But when you talk about political systems 00:19:55.49\00:19:57.83 and public political parties, 00:19:57.86\00:20:00.36 you get into some serious problems there 00:20:00.40\00:20:03.67 because they have agendas. 00:20:03.70\00:20:05.97 They are influenced by big money people. 00:20:06.00\00:20:09.94 And it's an arena that could be dangerous for a Christian 00:20:09.97\00:20:12.77 if he does not keep his eyes focused on the Lord. 00:20:12.81\00:20:15.91 This is why I quoted to you 1 Corinthians 1:23, 00:20:15.94\00:20:20.35 "All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful. 00:20:20.38\00:20:22.92 All things are lawful for me, but not all things edify." 00:20:22.95\00:20:25.72 So Proverbs 3:5-6, 00:20:25.75\00:20:29.66 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart 00:20:29.69\00:20:31.49 and lean not on your own understanding, 00:20:31.53\00:20:33.66 in all your ways acknowledge Him 00:20:33.70\00:20:35.06 and He shall direct your path." 00:20:35.13\00:20:37.07 I now bring to you, Daniel, served in public office, 00:20:37.10\00:20:41.67 was faithful and you notice how he was attacked 00:20:41.70\00:20:44.74 but still remained faithful. 00:20:44.77\00:20:46.41 Any Seventh-day Adventist, any Christian 00:20:46.44\00:20:49.31 that chooses to serve in public office 00:20:49.34\00:20:51.48 should follow the example of Daniel. 00:20:51.51\00:20:53.48 Serve the Lord with integrity, 00:20:53.52\00:20:55.45 follow the Lord and obey His laws 00:20:55.48\00:20:58.25 so that you can be a light 00:20:58.32\00:21:00.19 that will show your good works 00:21:00.22\00:21:02.46 and glorify your Father which is in heaven. 00:21:02.49\00:21:04.36 Amen. Amen. 00:21:04.39\00:21:05.96 I enjoy listening to you at home and here. 00:21:05.99\00:21:09.50 Thank you for the encouragement. 00:21:09.53\00:21:10.87 I admire you, babe. 00:21:10.90\00:21:12.63 Now, I have a question for Mrs. Quinn again. 00:21:12.67\00:21:14.70 Okay. 00:21:14.77\00:21:16.10 "Can you explain the Abrahamic covenant? 00:21:16.14\00:21:20.04 What exactly is it." 00:21:20.08\00:21:22.28 Wendi wants to know. 00:21:22.31\00:21:23.65 Two minutes. 00:21:23.68\00:21:25.01 Two minutes. 00:21:25.08\00:21:26.41 The Abrahamic covenant is the introduction 00:21:26.45\00:21:29.25 of the everlasting eternal covenant 00:21:29.28\00:21:32.75 of redemption of salvation by grace. 00:21:32.79\00:21:36.93 2 Timothy, Paul said in 2 Timothy 1:9 00:21:36.96\00:21:40.36 that grace was given to us 00:21:40.40\00:21:42.66 before time began 00:21:42.70\00:21:44.47 because God had this everlasting covenant 00:21:44.50\00:21:47.97 He was going to set up with us. 00:21:48.04\00:21:50.87 Just real quickly, Genesis 15:6, 00:21:50.91\00:21:54.01 Abraham believed God 00:21:54.04\00:21:56.04 and God credited to him for righteousness. 00:21:56.08\00:22:01.18 That's what it's all about, it's righteousness by faith. 00:22:01.22\00:22:05.42 In Genesis 15, God ratified this covenant, 00:22:05.45\00:22:09.59 and you know, they used to sacrifice the animals, 00:22:09.62\00:22:12.63 they'd split them in two and during... 00:22:12.66\00:22:15.76 When a covenant was ratified, 00:22:15.80\00:22:17.30 both parties would walk through the covenant pieces, 00:22:17.33\00:22:20.70 but not in this. 00:22:20.74\00:22:22.37 God put Abraham into a deep sleep. 00:22:22.40\00:22:25.31 God alone walked through the pieces 00:22:25.34\00:22:28.08 because He alone was making the promises. 00:22:28.11\00:22:31.48 And here's one of the promises, Genesis 22:15. 00:22:31.55\00:22:36.45 He asked or He told Abraham, 00:22:36.48\00:22:40.52 "In your seed, all the nations will be blessed." 00:22:40.56\00:22:43.22 And he asks him, he finally has this seed, 00:22:43.26\00:22:46.63 this covenant son, 00:22:46.66\00:22:48.56 who's called his only begotten son, 00:22:48.60\00:22:50.77 that's Isaac, God asks him to sacrifice him 00:22:50.80\00:22:54.20 and instead God shows up 00:22:54.24\00:22:56.97 and He provides the sacrifice for the burnt offering. 00:22:57.01\00:23:01.98 Galatians 3:16-17 says, 00:23:02.01\00:23:05.78 "To Abraham and his seed were the promises made." 00:23:05.81\00:23:08.42 Not to many seeds 00:23:08.45\00:23:09.85 but to a singular capitalist Seed, 00:23:09.88\00:23:12.89 who is Christ. 00:23:12.92\00:23:14.36 And this I say that the law 00:23:14.39\00:23:16.66 he's talking about the Mosaic law, 00:23:16.69\00:23:18.46 that temporary covenant of civil and ceremonial laws, 00:23:18.53\00:23:22.73 which was 430 years later 00:23:22.76\00:23:25.23 cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed 00:23:25.27\00:23:30.87 before God in Christ. 00:23:30.91\00:23:34.84 He's talking about the Abrahamic covenant. 00:23:34.88\00:23:37.11 So, Christ is the promised Seed. 00:23:37.15\00:23:40.78 He lived the perfect life. 00:23:40.82\00:23:42.85 Revelation 13:8, 00:23:42.88\00:23:45.15 "He was the Lamb who was slain 00:23:45.19\00:23:47.49 from the foundation of the world." 00:23:47.52\00:23:49.36 And the new covenant 00:23:49.39\00:23:50.99 is just the progressive revelation 00:23:51.03\00:23:53.63 of the everlasting covenant 00:23:53.66\00:23:55.90 that God made with Abraham. 00:23:55.93\00:23:57.43 Amen. 00:23:57.47\00:23:58.90 Thank you so much, Sister Shelley Quinn. 00:23:58.93\00:24:02.40 Well, Mrs. Morikone, 00:24:02.44\00:24:03.77 I have something here for you. 00:24:03.81\00:24:05.17 It's a very special question. Okay. 00:24:05.21\00:24:08.01 It's beautiful. 00:24:08.04\00:24:09.54 "Hi, my name is Susie. 00:24:09.58\00:24:12.48 My boys and I love to watch Q and A videos. 00:24:12.51\00:24:16.72 The other day, my son, nine year old David asked 00:24:16.75\00:24:21.36 if I could send you an email with his two questions. 00:24:21.39\00:24:25.93 I loved how he asked them and with such assurance, 00:24:25.96\00:24:31.03 when I go to heaven, 00:24:31.07\00:24:32.70 will I remember everything that happened on earth? 00:24:32.73\00:24:36.34 If I die when I am still a child 00:24:36.37\00:24:39.74 when I go to heaven, 00:24:39.77\00:24:41.38 will I be the age I died in 00:24:41.41\00:24:44.21 and grow to be an adult in heaven 00:24:44.25\00:24:47.02 or become an adult before coming to heaven?" 00:24:47.05\00:24:50.09 Bellingham in Washington. 00:24:50.12\00:24:52.42 Thank you so much, David. 00:24:52.45\00:24:54.19 I'm delighted that we're so happy 00:24:54.22\00:24:56.49 that you watch Bible Q and A 00:24:56.52\00:24:59.16 and glad that you're studying the Word of God. 00:24:59.19\00:25:02.26 Thank you for being part of our 3ABN family. 00:25:02.30\00:25:05.90 So your first question, when I go to heaven, 00:25:05.93\00:25:08.57 will I remember everything that happened on earth? 00:25:08.60\00:25:12.07 We will remember in heaven and on the new earth, 00:25:12.14\00:25:15.98 both places, we're going to remember things 00:25:16.01\00:25:18.68 that happen on earth. 00:25:18.71\00:25:20.08 We're getting to know each other 00:25:20.12\00:25:21.55 and recognize each other. 00:25:21.58\00:25:23.79 We will sing the song of the redeemed, 00:25:23.82\00:25:26.89 and what does it mean to be redeemed? 00:25:26.92\00:25:28.89 We were brought from sin into salvation, 00:25:28.92\00:25:33.33 from darkness into light. 00:25:33.36\00:25:35.80 That means if we remember the song of the redeemed, 00:25:35.83\00:25:39.43 we're going to remember where we came from, 00:25:39.47\00:25:41.54 we're going to remember what we were redeemed from. 00:25:41.57\00:25:46.34 There will even be, I think, some tears in heaven 00:25:46.37\00:25:49.21 as we remember some of those trials 00:25:49.24\00:25:51.31 and circumstances we had. 00:25:51.35\00:25:53.35 But when we get to the new earth, 00:25:53.38\00:25:55.52 there's going to be no more tears. 00:25:55.55\00:25:57.85 You can read that in Revelation. 00:25:57.89\00:25:59.22 Amen. 00:25:59.25\00:26:00.66 Revelation Chapter 21, just the first few verses, 00:26:00.69\00:26:03.12 look at that, this is the new earth, 00:26:03.16\00:26:05.26 because John sees the New Jerusalem 00:26:05.29\00:26:07.30 coming down from heaven 00:26:07.30\00:26:09.63 and God's going to recreate this earth 00:26:09.66\00:26:12.17 where we see sin and sickness, 00:26:12.20\00:26:13.77 and suffering and death. 00:26:13.80\00:26:15.47 He's going to recreate it and make it brand new. 00:26:15.54\00:26:19.21 And it says, "God will wipe all tears from their eyes 00:26:19.24\00:26:23.04 and there'll be no more death nor sorrow, 00:26:23.08\00:26:25.15 nor crying, no more pain, 00:26:25.18\00:26:27.58 for the former things have passed away." 00:26:27.62\00:26:29.98 I believe we'll still remember those former things 00:26:30.02\00:26:32.59 but there won't be that pain with them. 00:26:32.62\00:26:35.09 Now to your second question, 00:26:35.16\00:26:36.83 if I die when I'm still a child, 00:26:36.86\00:26:38.86 when I go to heaven, will I be the age I died in? 00:26:38.93\00:26:41.36 Will I be a child or will I be an adult 00:26:41.40\00:26:43.90 before coming to heaven? 00:26:43.93\00:26:45.77 I want to tell you that Jesus loves children. 00:26:45.83\00:26:49.97 And He says children are going to be in heaven. 00:26:50.01\00:26:52.57 You can see that many times in the gospel. 00:26:52.61\00:26:54.68 One of the verses is Matthew 19:14, and He says, 00:26:54.71\00:26:59.25 "Let the little children come to Me 00:26:59.28\00:27:02.05 and do not forbid them, 00:27:02.08\00:27:03.99 for such is the kingdom of heaven." 00:27:04.02\00:27:06.79 Now, if you look in the Book of Isaiah 00:27:06.82\00:27:08.99 Chapter 11, 00:27:09.06\00:27:10.89 we see a very interesting verse, verse 6, 00:27:10.93\00:27:13.66 it's talking about the new earth. 00:27:13.70\00:27:15.86 The wolf will dwell with the lamb. 00:27:15.90\00:27:18.67 Now we don't see this in earth today, do we? 00:27:18.73\00:27:20.77 The wolf with the lamb? 00:27:20.80\00:27:22.87 The leopard will lie down with a young goat, 00:27:22.90\00:27:26.11 the calf with a young lion and the fatling together 00:27:26.14\00:27:30.11 and a little child shall lead them 00:27:30.15\00:27:33.18 not saying an adult, 00:27:33.21\00:27:34.65 but a little child shall lead them. 00:27:34.68\00:27:36.92 You know what that tells me? 00:27:36.95\00:27:38.85 If you die before Jesus comes, 00:27:38.89\00:27:41.32 the next thing you know when Jesus wakes you up, 00:27:41.36\00:27:43.63 you will be the age whatever age you were, 00:27:43.66\00:27:46.03 when you were here on this earth. 00:27:46.06\00:27:47.96 Yes, I will believe 00:27:47.96\00:27:49.80 that there will be children in heaven. 00:27:49.83\00:27:51.60 And the most beautiful thing is, 00:27:51.63\00:27:53.57 all we have to do is ask Jesus, 00:27:53.60\00:27:56.24 will You come into my heart? 00:27:56.27\00:27:58.21 I want to be your son or I want to be your daughter. 00:27:58.24\00:28:03.01 I want to spend eternity with You. 00:28:03.04\00:28:05.71 And Jesus will accept you and forgive you. 00:28:05.75\00:28:08.42 And you can spend eternity with Him. 00:28:08.48\00:28:10.55 Amen. 00:28:10.59\00:28:12.09 So encouraging. 00:28:12.15\00:28:13.49 Beautiful. 00:28:13.52\00:28:14.92 John Dinzey, I have a question for you, Dear. 00:28:14.96\00:28:19.39 This is the question. 00:28:19.43\00:28:21.46 And Chandler sends this in, "Are there really creatures 00:28:21.50\00:28:26.17 or people in other galaxies or planets? 00:28:26.20\00:28:30.44 I read this idea once from an Ellen G. White book, 00:28:30.47\00:28:35.11 Early Writings, page 39 and 40." 00:28:35.14\00:28:38.51 Yes, actually, there in page 39, 00:28:38.58\00:28:41.02 it does say something about that 00:28:41.05\00:28:43.02 she was given a view about the worlds. 00:28:43.05\00:28:45.25 So the question is, are there really other worlds? 00:28:45.32\00:28:47.29 Take this into consideration, notice. 00:28:47.32\00:28:49.32 Scientists estimated 00:28:49.39\00:28:50.73 there are over 8.7 million species 00:28:50.76\00:28:54.40 of animals and plants. 00:28:54.46\00:28:56.00 The vast majority have not been identified 00:28:56.03\00:28:58.37 and cataloging and identifying them 00:28:58.40\00:29:01.04 could take more than 1000 years. 00:29:01.07\00:29:03.81 Wow. 00:29:03.84\00:29:05.17 And according to space.com it says 00:29:05.24\00:29:06.81 while estimates among different experts vary. 00:29:06.84\00:29:09.51 An acceptable range is between 100 billion 00:29:09.54\00:29:14.02 and 200 billion galaxies, 00:29:14.05\00:29:17.02 said Mario Livio, 00:29:17.05\00:29:18.92 an astrophysicist 00:29:18.95\00:29:20.29 at the Space Telescope Science Institute 00:29:20.32\00:29:21.99 in Baltimore, Maryland. 00:29:22.02\00:29:23.36 So considering these things we have to ask ourselves, 00:29:23.39\00:29:26.73 in this vast creation, 00:29:26.76\00:29:28.13 and this is what they are able to see with a telescope. 00:29:28.16\00:29:31.67 There's a beyond 00:29:31.70\00:29:33.74 of what they are able to see with telescopes. 00:29:33.77\00:29:37.31 And so we have to ask ourselves, 00:29:37.34\00:29:38.71 are we the only creatures in the whole huge vast universe 00:29:38.74\00:29:44.05 considering the amount of plants and animals 00:29:44.08\00:29:46.05 that there are? 00:29:46.08\00:29:47.42 I would say there's a very good possibility 00:29:47.45\00:29:49.88 that there are creatures other in other worlds. 00:29:49.92\00:29:53.25 And you may get a glimpse of this 00:29:53.29\00:29:54.72 by going to some places like Hebrews 1:1-2 says, 00:29:54.76\00:30:00.36 "God who at various times and in various ways 00:30:00.40\00:30:03.30 spoken times passed to the fathers by the prophets, 00:30:03.33\00:30:06.40 has in these last days spoken to us by his Son, 00:30:06.43\00:30:09.30 whom He has appointed heir of all things 00:30:09.34\00:30:11.54 through whom also He made the worlds." 00:30:11.57\00:30:13.94 And it's interesting 00:30:13.98\00:30:15.34 that there it can either translate 00:30:15.38\00:30:17.85 to the universe or worlds. 00:30:17.88\00:30:19.91 And so this is a verse that gives us a hint 00:30:19.95\00:30:22.12 that there may be other creatures out there. 00:30:22.18\00:30:26.15 And Revelation 5:13 says, 00:30:26.19\00:30:28.52 "And every creature which is in heaven 00:30:28.56\00:30:30.73 and on the earth and under the earth 00:30:30.76\00:30:33.33 and such as are in the sea and all that are in them, 00:30:33.36\00:30:36.26 I heard saying, blessing and honor and glory and power 00:30:36.30\00:30:39.50 be to Him who sits on the throne 00:30:39.53\00:30:41.54 and to the Lamb forever and ever." 00:30:41.57\00:30:43.27 And I would say to you, 00:30:43.30\00:30:44.64 this is a picture of every creature 00:30:44.67\00:30:46.98 in the whole vast universe praising God. 00:30:47.01\00:30:49.84 Yes, I believe there are people, 00:30:49.88\00:30:52.28 creatures in other places, other worlds. 00:30:52.31\00:30:53.92 Amen. Amen. 00:30:53.95\00:30:55.28 Amen. Thank you very much. 00:30:55.35\00:30:57.52 Mrs. Quinn, you ready for this one? 00:30:57.55\00:30:59.52 I'm ready, Sister. 00:30:59.55\00:31:01.76 Well, we have Erling from Sweden. 00:31:01.79\00:31:04.76 He says, "How many cups were used in The Last Supper? 00:31:04.79\00:31:10.33 One big or one for each person?" 00:31:10.37\00:31:14.44 Oh, Erling. What will it be? 00:31:14.47\00:31:16.20 I had so much fun, as I research this to make sure 00:31:16.24\00:31:19.64 I was going to give you a good answer. 00:31:19.67\00:31:21.28 The gospel writers didn't provide all the details. 00:31:21.31\00:31:25.21 There's two options, 00:31:25.28\00:31:26.61 either Jesus had one big cup 00:31:26.65\00:31:29.05 from which all 12 of His disciples 00:31:29.08\00:31:31.19 also drank during The Last Supper 00:31:31.22\00:31:33.66 or He had one big cup 00:31:33.69\00:31:35.99 and they poured out and divided it. 00:31:36.02\00:31:38.99 Now, there are some hints here. 00:31:39.06\00:31:41.40 First of all, the Jewish Passover tradition 00:31:41.43\00:31:45.27 was to have a large cup 00:31:45.30\00:31:48.07 from and individual cups in front of each person 00:31:48.10\00:31:51.51 and they would pour from that large cup 00:31:51.54\00:31:54.51 during the Paschal Feast. 00:31:54.54\00:31:56.78 They had four drinking periods. 00:31:56.81\00:31:58.95 So each time they filled up everybody's cup, 00:31:58.98\00:32:03.05 it was called a cup. 00:32:03.08\00:32:04.92 And it's interesting, they had four cups, 00:32:04.95\00:32:07.49 basically, and this is based on the promise of God 00:32:07.52\00:32:11.56 from Exodus 6:6-7. 00:32:11.59\00:32:15.13 Real quickly, God says, 00:32:15.16\00:32:17.43 "Therefore say to the children of Israel, 00:32:17.47\00:32:19.27 I am the Lord, I will bring you out 00:32:19.30\00:32:21.70 from under the burdens of the Egyptians." 00:32:21.74\00:32:24.97 So they would quote that, have their first cup, 00:32:25.01\00:32:27.94 which was a cup of thanksgiving for their deliverance. 00:32:27.98\00:32:30.75 "I will rescue you from their bondage." 00:32:30.78\00:32:33.15 That's when they drank the second cup. 00:32:33.18\00:32:35.15 "I will redeem you with an outstretched arm 00:32:35.18\00:32:38.35 and with judgments." 00:32:38.39\00:32:40.72 That was the third cup, 00:32:40.76\00:32:43.19 the cup of the blessing of redemption. 00:32:43.22\00:32:46.16 And then He says, "I'll take you as My people 00:32:46.23\00:32:48.76 and I will be your God." 00:32:48.80\00:32:51.33 So that's when they drank the fourth cup. 00:32:51.37\00:32:53.94 Tradition says everything that I studied, 00:32:53.97\00:32:57.07 that when Jesus said this cup 00:32:57.11\00:33:00.08 which is My blood of the new covenant, 00:33:00.11\00:33:03.14 this is the third cup. 00:33:03.18\00:33:05.35 Now what's interesting, 00:33:05.38\00:33:07.62 Matthew 26:27-28, 00:33:07.65\00:33:12.79 as well as Mark 14:23-24. 00:33:12.82\00:33:18.46 Both Matthew and Mark are writing to Jewish people. 00:33:18.49\00:33:22.06 Matthew just says, Jesus took the cup and said, 00:33:22.10\00:33:24.63 "Drink from it all of you." 00:33:24.67\00:33:26.30 Mark says, "They all drank from it." 00:33:26.33\00:33:29.20 But what I researched said that 00:33:29.24\00:33:32.81 since they were writing to Jews, 00:33:32.87\00:33:34.78 most likely the Jews would assume 00:33:34.81\00:33:37.55 the implication to Jewish readers 00:33:37.58\00:33:40.25 is that there would be multiple cups 00:33:40.28\00:33:42.98 according to the tradition. 00:33:43.02\00:33:45.19 But now here's the cool thing. 00:33:45.22\00:33:47.99 Luke is writing to whom? 00:33:48.02\00:33:51.79 To Gentiles and just like, 00:33:51.83\00:33:54.83 you know, Luke is the only one of the Synoptic Gospels 00:33:54.83\00:33:59.00 that mentions in Luke 1:32 00:33:59.03\00:34:02.14 that it was the Abrahamic covenant 00:34:02.17\00:34:06.17 that is being fulfilled in the New Testament, 00:34:06.21\00:34:09.84 but he's the only one, listen to how he records this. 00:34:09.88\00:34:13.68 He mentions two cups and he says, 00:34:13.72\00:34:18.12 Luke 22:17, 00:34:18.15\00:34:20.76 "He took the cup and gave thank 00:34:20.79\00:34:24.63 and He said 'Take this 00:34:24.66\00:34:26.76 and divide it among yourselves.'" 00:34:26.80\00:34:30.10 That was the first cup. 00:34:30.13\00:34:31.87 Then in verse 20, Luke 22, he says, "Likewise, 00:34:31.90\00:34:36.27 He also likewise took the cup after supper." 00:34:36.30\00:34:40.71 So He's saying divided among yourselves 00:34:40.74\00:34:43.14 if it's likewise, 00:34:43.18\00:34:44.58 and this is the cup 00:34:44.61\00:34:46.18 of the new covenant in My blood, 00:34:46.21\00:34:48.25 which is shed for you, 00:34:48.28\00:34:49.65 which would be the third cup. 00:34:49.68\00:34:51.02 Amen. 00:34:51.05\00:34:52.39 That's beautiful. 00:34:52.42\00:34:53.76 I know it is. 00:34:53.79\00:34:55.12 Praise the Lord. That is exciting. 00:34:55.16\00:34:56.49 It's great to hear all these scriptures 00:34:56.52\00:34:59.06 and hear the answers, Bible answers. 00:34:59.09\00:35:02.53 Praise the Lord. 00:35:02.56\00:35:03.90 Well, Mrs. Morikone, ready? 00:35:03.93\00:35:05.90 Mrs. Dinzey, ready. 00:35:05.93\00:35:08.17 Zachariah 13:6, "And one will say to Him, 00:35:08.20\00:35:13.38 what are these wounds between your arms? 00:35:13.41\00:35:16.31 Then He will answer those with which I was one 00:35:16.34\00:35:20.72 that in the house of my friends." 00:35:20.75\00:35:22.68 My question is, 00:35:22.75\00:35:24.19 "Why will there be people in heaven 00:35:24.22\00:35:25.95 who do not know Jesus, 00:35:26.02\00:35:27.72 if the gospel is to be preached in all the world 00:35:27.76\00:35:30.96 before Jesus returns? 00:35:30.99\00:35:33.06 I always thought this meant 00:35:33.09\00:35:35.70 that everyone would have had the opportunity 00:35:35.73\00:35:38.63 to learn of Jesus and make a decision 00:35:38.67\00:35:41.70 for or against accepting Jesus." 00:35:41.74\00:35:45.04 Cindy from Vancouver, Canada. 00:35:45.07\00:35:48.51 Thank you so much, Cindy, for that question. 00:35:48.54\00:35:51.05 We'll get to your question 00:35:51.08\00:35:52.45 right at the end of my answer here. 00:35:52.48\00:35:54.25 We know that salvation is how? 00:35:54.28\00:35:56.48 Through faith in the blood of Jesus. 00:35:56.52\00:35:59.32 Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ 00:35:59.39\00:36:01.06 and you shall be saved. 00:36:01.09\00:36:03.16 But yet this reference that Mrs. Dinzey just read 00:36:03.19\00:36:05.86 in Zechariah 13:6 seems to indicate 00:36:05.89\00:36:09.10 that there will be people in heaven 00:36:09.13\00:36:10.83 who come to Jesus and say, 00:36:10.87\00:36:12.47 what are these wounds in your hands or in your side 00:36:12.50\00:36:15.17 or between your arms, depending on the translation. 00:36:15.20\00:36:18.54 If you look at the passage in context, 00:36:18.57\00:36:21.11 it's talking about the foreshadowing 00:36:21.14\00:36:23.28 of the Messiah, 00:36:23.31\00:36:24.78 condemned as a false prophet 00:36:24.81\00:36:26.85 and pierced with those wounds between His hands. 00:36:26.88\00:36:30.52 How can people be in heaven 00:36:30.55\00:36:31.89 who have never heard the name of Jesus? 00:36:31.92\00:36:35.09 Romans 1:20, says, 00:36:35.12\00:36:38.36 "Since the creation of the world, 00:36:38.39\00:36:40.20 His invisible attributes are clearly revealed 00:36:40.23\00:36:44.57 and understood. 00:36:44.60\00:36:45.93 Being understood by the things that are made, 00:36:45.97\00:36:47.77 even His eternal power and Godhead, 00:36:47.80\00:36:50.14 so they are without excuse." 00:36:50.17\00:36:51.51 What does that tell us? 00:36:51.54\00:36:52.87 It tells us that people who dwell you could say, 00:36:52.91\00:36:55.04 in an island nation, maybe in a place 00:36:55.08\00:36:57.98 where the gospel has not penetrated, 00:36:58.01\00:37:00.68 maybe they're cannibals, 00:37:00.72\00:37:02.05 maybe they have never experienced 00:37:02.08\00:37:04.22 the Word of God, 00:37:04.25\00:37:05.59 that nature can reveal the character of God. 00:37:05.62\00:37:10.26 We see this in Psalm 19, 00:37:10.29\00:37:12.13 "The heavens declare the glory of God. 00:37:12.16\00:37:14.36 And the firmament shows His handiwork. 00:37:14.36\00:37:17.37 There is no speech nor language 00:37:17.40\00:37:19.03 where their voice is not heard." 00:37:19.07\00:37:20.47 That tells me no matter what language, 00:37:20.50\00:37:22.40 tribe, tongue, or people, 00:37:22.44\00:37:24.17 that God can speak through nature 00:37:24.21\00:37:26.71 and He also speaks through divine Revelation. 00:37:26.74\00:37:30.31 So yes, I believe there will be people in heaven, 00:37:30.35\00:37:33.35 who have never heard the name of Jesus. 00:37:33.38\00:37:36.08 Now, to your question, how is that even possible, 00:37:36.12\00:37:38.95 if the gospel is to be preached to the whole world? 00:37:38.99\00:37:42.09 It will at the end of time, 00:37:42.12\00:37:43.86 but I think this is referring specifically to people 00:37:43.89\00:37:46.39 before the end of time, 00:37:46.43\00:37:48.30 people through the ages 00:37:48.33\00:37:49.66 from creation the last 6000 years 00:37:49.73\00:37:52.03 who did not, they died 00:37:52.07\00:37:53.40 before they had access to hear the gospel. 00:37:53.44\00:37:55.77 That's what this verse is talking about, 00:37:55.80\00:37:57.61 not the people at the end of time, 00:37:57.64\00:37:59.44 but people back through history. 00:37:59.47\00:38:01.41 Amen. Good answer. 00:38:01.44\00:38:02.84 Amen. Amen. 00:38:02.88\00:38:04.21 Very good. 00:38:04.25\00:38:05.58 Sharp and to the point. 00:38:05.61\00:38:06.95 Well, John Dinzey, I have a question for you. 00:38:06.98\00:38:09.58 Okay. 00:38:09.62\00:38:11.42 "Where did the names Lord and Christ 00:38:11.45\00:38:15.59 came to be and why?" 00:38:15.62\00:38:17.79 Virginia wants to know and so do I. 00:38:17.83\00:38:22.53 Well, that is also a good question. 00:38:22.56\00:38:25.20 I'll start with the word Lord. 00:38:25.23\00:38:28.94 And this takes us to the Old Testament first 00:38:28.97\00:38:32.54 because in the Old Testament most translations 00:38:32.57\00:38:37.11 when they use the word, LORD, 00:38:37.15\00:38:38.55 and you'll find that in capital letters, 00:38:38.58\00:38:41.45 this is identifying the name of the person 00:38:41.48\00:38:45.75 or the name of God, 00:38:45.82\00:38:47.16 which is the Tetragrammaton, which means the four letters, 00:38:47.19\00:38:51.03 and this is sometimes pronounced Yahweh. 00:38:51.06\00:38:54.20 Some people use in some translations, 00:38:54.23\00:38:56.40 you may see the word Jehovah with a J 00:38:56.43\00:39:00.10 and the Hebrews did not have the J sound. 00:39:00.14\00:39:04.14 So some people say Yehovah instead. 00:39:04.17\00:39:07.98 So when you see the word LORD, 00:39:08.01\00:39:10.95 capital L, capital O, capital R, capital D, 00:39:10.98\00:39:14.12 it is talking about God's personal names. 00:39:14.15\00:39:19.92 The writers of the Bible were trying to be careful 00:39:19.95\00:39:22.59 not to pronounce God's name. 00:39:22.62\00:39:24.53 Therefore, there are over 6,000 times 00:39:24.56\00:39:29.10 that the actual personal name of God 00:39:29.13\00:39:31.50 is presented in the Old Testament 00:39:31.53\00:39:33.07 but they chose to use 00:39:33.10\00:39:34.70 capital L, capital O, capital R, capital D, 00:39:34.74\00:39:37.87 when that name is found in the majority of the places 00:39:37.91\00:39:41.01 to avoid pronouncing God's name in vain. 00:39:41.04\00:39:45.21 And this is why the Masoretes 00:39:45.25\00:39:47.28 when they were doing their version 00:39:47.32\00:39:50.49 would put the vowels of Adonai 00:39:50.52\00:39:55.29 above so that when somebody is reading the old, 00:39:55.32\00:39:58.46 the Hebrew Scriptures they would say, 00:39:58.49\00:40:00.80 in their mind because even in their mind, 00:40:00.83\00:40:02.56 they were saying I don't want to pronounce the name. 00:40:02.60\00:40:04.30 They would say Adonai instead of saying 00:40:04.33\00:40:07.14 the personal name of God. 00:40:07.17\00:40:09.20 So there are also a small l, 00:40:09.24\00:40:14.01 in small letters, lord as well. 00:40:14.04\00:40:16.08 This means just ruler. 00:40:16.14\00:40:18.51 Now let's go to Christ, 00:40:18.55\00:40:20.02 because time is running quickly. 00:40:20.05\00:40:22.25 The word Christ comes from the Greek Christos 00:40:22.28\00:40:27.16 which is a... 00:40:27.19\00:40:29.46 You're having a transliteration using the word Christ 00:40:29.52\00:40:32.09 is from the Greek Christos. 00:40:32.13\00:40:34.20 And that's where it comes from. 00:40:34.20\00:40:36.16 That's what we borrow it from to use in the Bible. 00:40:36.23\00:40:40.94 So this is where it comes from. 00:40:40.97\00:40:43.27 Another reference the actual word Adonai 00:40:43.30\00:40:46.14 which means Lord, 00:40:46.17\00:40:47.51 you'll hear sometimes, like, the servants of Abraham, 00:40:47.54\00:40:50.81 calling him lord 00:40:50.85\00:40:52.18 and other people calling kings lord, 00:40:52.21\00:40:54.72 but they are not Lord 00:40:54.75\00:40:56.89 over all like God is Lord over all sea. 00:40:56.92\00:41:00.32 So God is ruler over all the universe. 00:41:00.36\00:41:04.79 So He is properly called LORD 00:41:04.83\00:41:07.60 and the distinction is made by like I said, 00:41:07.66\00:41:10.83 all capital letters. 00:41:10.87\00:41:12.40 So Elohim you didn't ask about that. 00:41:12.43\00:41:16.30 But that's found over 2000 times 00:41:16.37\00:41:19.84 when it says the word God and that's another story, 00:41:19.87\00:41:22.91 so we'll stop right there. 00:41:22.94\00:41:24.48 Beautifully put. 00:41:24.51\00:41:25.88 Thank you so much. 00:41:25.91\00:41:27.25 Very good. 00:41:27.28\00:41:28.62 Now, Mrs. Morikone? Yes, ma'am. 00:41:28.65\00:41:30.15 "Why didn't Jonah just jump into the sea 00:41:30.19\00:41:33.86 instead of asking the men to throw him in?" 00:41:33.89\00:41:37.23 Ruthie wants to know. 00:41:37.26\00:41:38.59 She's in Georgia waiting for the answer. 00:41:38.63\00:41:40.60 Thank you, Ruthie. 00:41:40.63\00:41:42.03 You know, Jonah is one of the greatest 00:41:42.06\00:41:43.50 missionary books in the Old Testament. 00:41:43.53\00:41:45.43 You say why is that? 00:41:45.47\00:41:46.80 Because it reveals a God who cares deeply 00:41:46.84\00:41:49.67 about the salvation of nations 00:41:49.74\00:41:51.57 beyond His own people, Israel. 00:41:51.61\00:41:54.54 And we see the irony of Jonah, God's prophet, 00:41:54.58\00:41:57.78 who by contrast, is narrow, hypocritical, and stubborn. 00:41:57.81\00:42:02.32 Jonah did not want to evangelize the Ninevites. 00:42:02.35\00:42:05.05 He ran away from God's calling on his life. 00:42:05.09\00:42:08.02 He knew the storm was sent 00:42:08.06\00:42:09.99 in consequence of his disobedience. 00:42:10.03\00:42:13.06 He didn't care about the souls of the Ninevites. 00:42:13.09\00:42:15.10 And he didn't care about the lives of the sailors, 00:42:15.13\00:42:17.07 the pagan sailors on the ship that he was on. 00:42:17.10\00:42:20.87 It's interesting to me 00:42:20.90\00:42:22.24 as I look at the irony in the Book of Jonah. 00:42:22.27\00:42:25.04 We have a gracious God 00:42:25.07\00:42:26.54 with an ungracious prophet and missionary. 00:42:26.61\00:42:29.78 We have the ungodly sailors 00:42:29.81\00:42:31.81 who cast lots and sought to follow the direction 00:42:31.85\00:42:34.75 they were given. 00:42:34.78\00:42:36.12 While at the same time, Jonah, 00:42:36.15\00:42:37.89 when he received God's revelation, 00:42:37.92\00:42:40.19 turned his back on it and walked in disobedience. 00:42:40.22\00:42:43.83 We have Jonah saying, "I'm a Hebrew, 00:42:43.86\00:42:46.36 I fear the God of land and sea." 00:42:46.43\00:42:49.66 All the while doing his best 00:42:49.70\00:42:51.07 to ignore the storm that God sent. 00:42:51.10\00:42:53.37 And we have the pagan sailors who did not even know this 00:42:53.44\00:42:56.34 God show great fear of Him and concern. 00:42:56.40\00:43:01.18 We have the prophet of God, 00:43:01.21\00:43:02.54 who knew the love and mercy of God, 00:43:02.61\00:43:04.48 standing resolved to commit suicide 00:43:04.51\00:43:07.05 rather than walk in obedience 00:43:07.08\00:43:09.92 to what God had called him to do. 00:43:09.95\00:43:12.55 We have the pagan crew 00:43:12.59\00:43:14.06 who are so afraid and respectful of this God, 00:43:14.09\00:43:17.49 they don't even know 00:43:17.53\00:43:18.86 that they're trying to obey His voice 00:43:18.89\00:43:20.33 and they try to row toward land to return Jonah toward land, 00:43:20.36\00:43:24.50 but instead, what does he say? 00:43:24.53\00:43:26.53 "Cast me in the sea. 00:43:26.57\00:43:28.17 Throw me overboard." 00:43:28.20\00:43:29.54 Now to your question. 00:43:29.60\00:43:30.94 Why didn't Jonah just jump in the sea instead of letting, 00:43:30.97\00:43:34.54 asking the men to throw him overboard? 00:43:34.58\00:43:37.48 I don't know the exact answer to that. 00:43:37.51\00:43:39.61 However, I would say 00:43:39.65\00:43:41.68 if Jonah preferred death to obedience 00:43:41.72\00:43:45.32 because he was clearly walking in disobedience. 00:43:45.35\00:43:48.16 Why didn't he just commit suicide? 00:43:48.19\00:43:49.92 I don't know. 00:43:49.96\00:43:51.29 But I would say if it were me, 00:43:51.33\00:43:52.93 it probably takes more courage to jump overboard yourself 00:43:52.99\00:43:57.57 than for someone else to throw you overboard 00:43:57.60\00:44:01.00 to what you think will be your destruction. 00:44:01.04\00:44:04.47 Yeah, the fall. 00:44:04.51\00:44:05.84 Thank you. What a blessing. 00:44:05.87\00:44:07.28 Thank you. Thank you. 00:44:07.31\00:44:08.98 Mrs. Quinn? Yeah. 00:44:09.01\00:44:10.55 This is your question here. 00:44:10.58\00:44:13.11 "Please expound 00:44:13.15\00:44:14.65 on 1 Corinthians 7:10-11." 00:44:14.68\00:44:19.99 Sharon in Jamaica is waiting for the answer. 00:44:20.06\00:44:23.02 All right, Sharon. Okay. 00:44:23.06\00:44:24.39 Well, first of all, 1 Corinthians 7:1 00:44:24.43\00:44:26.73 through 1 Corinthians 11:34, 00:44:26.80\00:44:30.13 Paul is answering questions 00:44:30.17\00:44:33.54 that the church at Corinth had sent him. 00:44:33.60\00:44:36.27 You've got to remember Corinth was extremely 00:44:36.30\00:44:39.54 immoral city 00:44:39.57\00:44:40.98 and some of the problems of the culture 00:44:41.01\00:44:43.61 had come into the church. 00:44:43.65\00:44:44.98 So in 1 Corinthians 7:10-11. 00:44:45.01\00:44:48.42 Here's what Paul says, "Now to the married I command." 00:44:48.45\00:44:53.05 And then he says, "Yet not I but the Lord." 00:44:53.12\00:44:55.09 In other words, 00:44:55.12\00:44:56.49 this was an apostolic Spirit inspired instruction. 00:44:56.52\00:45:00.73 He's getting ready to quote the Lord. 00:45:00.76\00:45:02.96 He says, he's quoting Jesus said in Matthew 19:9 00:45:03.00\00:45:07.94 and Mark 10:12, 00:45:07.97\00:45:09.80 that if someone committed adultery 00:45:09.87\00:45:11.81 for any reason other than sex, 00:45:11.84\00:45:15.28 I mean if someone they forced someone 00:45:15.31\00:45:18.55 for any reason other than adultery, 00:45:18.58\00:45:20.75 sexual immorality, 00:45:20.78\00:45:22.75 that then if they remarried, they were committing adultery. 00:45:22.78\00:45:26.62 So, you know, God intended marriage 00:45:26.65\00:45:28.99 to be a lifelong commitment, 00:45:29.02\00:45:32.36 a permanent bond 00:45:32.39\00:45:34.00 that would be broken only by death. 00:45:34.00\00:45:36.50 But now, I kind of think 00:45:36.53\00:45:39.50 that maybe your question's coming in here. 00:45:39.57\00:45:43.91 In 1 Corinthians 7, it continues on in verse 10, 00:45:43.94\00:45:47.84 it said, "A wife is not to depart 00:45:47.88\00:45:52.15 from her husband." 00:45:52.18\00:45:53.55 That word is actually divorce. 00:45:53.58\00:45:56.82 Depart is divorce. 00:45:56.85\00:45:58.42 "But even if she does depart, 00:45:58.45\00:46:00.06 let her remain unmarried 00:46:00.09\00:46:01.72 or be reconciled to her husband. 00:46:01.76\00:46:04.33 And a husband is not to divorce," 00:46:04.36\00:46:08.16 the original language is put away, "his wife." 00:46:08.20\00:46:11.77 Let me tell you something, 00:46:11.80\00:46:13.17 divorce is not adultery. 00:46:13.20\00:46:15.80 If you remarry for any reason other than sexual immorality, 00:46:15.84\00:46:21.44 the Bible says you're living in adultery. 00:46:21.48\00:46:24.28 But there is nothing in the Bible 00:46:24.31\00:46:29.52 that would prohibit you 00:46:29.55\00:46:31.75 from separating from your husband. 00:46:31.79\00:46:34.72 If you're in an abusive situation, 00:46:34.76\00:46:37.96 God would say get separate from them 00:46:37.99\00:46:43.06 and don't reconcile until they've had counseling, 00:46:43.10\00:46:46.63 until they are showing fruits of repentance. 00:46:46.67\00:46:50.41 The scripture to support that, 2 Timothy 3:1-5, 00:46:50.44\00:46:55.88 it's talking about lovers itself 00:46:55.91\00:46:57.78 without self control, 00:46:57.81\00:46:59.15 brutal and he says from such people turn away. 00:46:59.18\00:47:03.62 Amen. 00:47:03.65\00:47:04.99 Thank you very much. 00:47:05.02\00:47:06.59 I pray that the Lord will bless your lives 00:47:06.62\00:47:09.59 as we are seeking Him through the study of the Bible. 00:47:09.66\00:47:13.90 Well, I'd like to present one more question 00:47:13.93\00:47:15.76 to John Dinzey, right here next to me, my husband. 00:47:15.80\00:47:19.53 "Who was Jesus referring to in John 10:8?" 00:47:19.57\00:47:24.84 Anna wants to know. 00:47:24.87\00:47:26.21 In John 10:8, 00:47:26.27\00:47:29.34 we have the following words, 00:47:29.38\00:47:30.75 "All who ever came before me 00:47:30.78\00:47:33.88 are thieves and robbers, 00:47:33.92\00:47:36.69 but the sheep did not hear them." 00:47:36.72\00:47:39.75 This is not referring to the prophets 00:47:39.79\00:47:43.22 and judges that the Lord sent. 00:47:43.26\00:47:45.59 Jesus is referring to those false prophets 00:47:45.63\00:47:48.73 and those false messiahs 00:47:48.76\00:47:51.43 that had come before Him. 00:47:51.47\00:47:53.80 The Jews knew of the prophecy of the Messiah 00:47:53.84\00:47:56.47 and some would rise up claiming to be somebody. 00:47:56.50\00:48:00.64 And would, obviously, people would follow them. 00:48:00.68\00:48:05.08 There's a hint to this in the Book of Acts Chapter 5, 00:48:05.11\00:48:08.15 when the disciples are being judged. 00:48:08.18\00:48:10.72 And Gamaliel as some people say 00:48:10.75\00:48:13.76 or Gamaliel says in Acts Chapter 5, 00:48:13.79\00:48:18.39 you can see the beginning of verse 34. 00:48:18.43\00:48:20.40 But I'm going to start reading in verse 35. 00:48:20.43\00:48:22.83 "And he said to them: 'Men of Israel, 00:48:22.86\00:48:24.67 take heed to yourselves 00:48:24.70\00:48:26.60 what you intend to do regarding these men. 00:48:26.63\00:48:28.97 For some time ago Theudas rose up, 00:48:29.00\00:48:32.67 claiming to be somebody. 00:48:32.71\00:48:34.14 A number of men, about four hundred, joined him. 00:48:34.18\00:48:36.64 He was slain, 00:48:36.71\00:48:38.05 and all who obeyed him were scattered 00:48:38.08\00:48:39.41 and came to nothing. 00:48:39.45\00:48:40.95 After this man, 00:48:40.98\00:48:42.32 Judas of Galilee rose up in the days of the census, 00:48:42.35\00:48:44.79 and drew away many people after him. 00:48:44.82\00:48:46.92 He also perished, 00:48:46.96\00:48:48.29 and all who obeyed him were dispersed." 00:48:48.32\00:48:50.73 And so, now, and then it says, "And now I say to you, 00:48:50.76\00:48:53.60 keep away from these men and let them alone, 00:48:53.66\00:48:56.13 for if this plan or this work is of men, 00:48:56.16\00:48:59.40 it will come to nothing, but if it is of God, 00:48:59.43\00:49:02.10 you cannot overthrow it, 00:49:02.14\00:49:03.51 lest you even be found to fight against God." 00:49:03.54\00:49:07.71 A great message. 00:49:07.74\00:49:09.84 And so obviously, there were people 00:49:09.91\00:49:12.15 that would rise up false prophets claiming this, 00:49:12.18\00:49:14.62 claiming that and that's why Jesus says, 00:49:14.65\00:49:17.15 "All who came before Me were thieves and robbers, 00:49:17.19\00:49:20.22 but the sheep did not hear their voice." 00:49:20.26\00:49:24.86 Amen. 00:49:24.89\00:49:26.23 Thank you very much. 00:49:26.26\00:49:27.60 Well, we only have a quick two minutes. 00:49:27.60\00:49:30.90 "How can I explain to a non-Christian 00:49:30.93\00:49:33.50 or a non-Adventist 00:49:33.57\00:49:34.90 how inviting Jesus into their family 00:49:34.94\00:49:37.47 could make their life better? 00:49:37.51\00:49:39.24 Please give me EG White sources as well." 00:49:39.27\00:49:42.34 Rupa. 00:49:42.38\00:49:43.71 Quickly. 00:49:43.78\00:49:45.38 I would just say Galatians 5 contrasts home without Jesus 00:49:45.41\00:49:50.62 and a home with Jesus. 00:49:50.65\00:49:52.85 You see the works of the flesh, which is uncleanness, 00:49:52.89\00:49:55.86 and idolatry, and hatred, and jealousy, 00:49:55.89\00:49:58.26 and selfish ambition. 00:49:58.29\00:50:00.70 Have you dwelt in a home like that? 00:50:00.73\00:50:02.73 That is a home without Jesus. 00:50:02.76\00:50:05.30 By contrast, the fruit of the Spirit love, 00:50:05.33\00:50:08.07 joy, peace, long suffering. 00:50:08.10\00:50:10.51 What a beautiful experience to walk 00:50:10.54\00:50:13.07 and dwell in a home where Jesus lives. 00:50:13.11\00:50:15.94 To me, you see the contrast. 00:50:15.98\00:50:17.31 Amen. 00:50:17.35\00:50:18.68 Amen. 00:50:18.71\00:50:20.05 Well, I would like to also say that a home that has Jesus 00:50:20.12\00:50:24.12 has the hope of a eternal life, a home without Jesus, 00:50:24.15\00:50:29.02 like you said, it's a home without peace. 00:50:29.06\00:50:31.46 It's a home without the happiness 00:50:31.49\00:50:33.19 and joy of knowing that there is a life 00:50:33.23\00:50:35.70 beyond this world 00:50:35.73\00:50:37.30 that God has for His children. 00:50:37.33\00:50:39.43 And it is a joy and a blessing 00:50:39.47\00:50:40.97 to everyday walk with the Lord. 00:50:41.00\00:50:42.90 Yeah, and I would just say that God is love 00:50:42.97\00:50:45.91 and it's a self-sacrificing love. 00:50:45.94\00:50:48.51 So when God comes into your heart 00:50:48.54\00:50:50.58 and into your family, you see this love. 00:50:50.61\00:50:55.12 It's a unifying love. 00:50:55.15\00:50:56.58 There's no more competition, just like among the Godhead, 00:50:56.65\00:51:00.19 there's no competition. 00:51:00.22\00:51:01.76 So when Jesus comes into the family, 00:51:01.79\00:51:04.79 there's this beautiful unity 00:51:04.83\00:51:07.30 and there's self-sacrificing love 00:51:07.30\00:51:09.46 of people doing things for each other 00:51:09.50\00:51:12.33 and putting others above themselves. 00:51:12.37\00:51:14.70 I just think it's the most special thing 00:51:14.74\00:51:17.81 that can happen on earth. 00:51:17.84\00:51:19.34 Amen. 00:51:19.37\00:51:20.71 I want to thank you all. 00:51:20.74\00:51:22.08 We're gonna take a quick pause, 00:51:22.11\00:51:23.45 but we will be back with our friends at
